Chapter Text
His shoes clanked as he walked through the halls of the school. The atmosphere at school has been a dark one, everyone is terrified that they might go missing next. It’s been a month since Ava disappeared and Tristan is still searching for her. His uncle was the captain of the police force and it was a good thing he was on the force; he was able to get information on the missing. But the police are starting to give up the search.
All of the people, including Ava, had started acting unusual before going missing. Whether it be extreme aggression or sudden and unexplained knowledge on a subject they never knew before. In the week before her disappearance, Ava's tics had started to get worse.
As Tristan walked to his locker, he thought about all the good times he had with Ava when they were younger. Tristan’s parents had been friends with Ava’s long before they had been born so it was only natural that their kids would become friends.
Tristan got his stuff from his locker and walked out of the school just after the second end of school bell. He pulled his jacket tighter around him as he stepped into the cold autumn wind. He didn’t live that far from the school, it was just a 5-10 minute walk. Tristan loved the quiet walk home, it let him relax and think without interruptions. He looked around, the school was close to a forest. It is a pretty big forest with it almost completely surrounding the town. He remembers when he and Ava used to climb the trees at the edge of the forest during playdates at the park when they were toddlers.
As he was looking at the tree line of the forest, he saw someone standing there. The person looked familiar, but he couldn’t make out their face. After a few seconds they disappeared into the forest. Tristan thought about following them but ultimately decided against it. ‘I’m probably just being too paranoid’ he thought.
Tristan walked for a few more minutes before turning and walking up his driveway. His dad’s car wasn’t there. ‘He must be working late tonight’ Tristan thought as he walked into the house. Once inside he was greeted by his mother.
His mothers name is Christena Lean O'malley. Christena was a good looking woman with long, dirty blonde hair and bright green eyes. She was on the chubbier side, but that only helped the warm and cozy feeling she gave off.
“How was school today?” his mom asked as she got up from the couch where she had been previously watching crime shows. Tristan walked over to her and hugged her answering “It was good”
“Have the police found anything else that could be used to find Ava?” Tristan asked with a worried look. His mother looked at him and sighed. “You need to stop worrying so much. I know you want to help but that is not your responsibility. They are doing the best they can.”
Tristan sighed and looked at his mom. “I’m going to my room. Call me when dinner is ready.” Christena watched as Tristan walked up to his room in a put out manner. She signed as she walked back over to the couch to resume her show. Ever since Ava went missing Tristan has been losing sleep worrying over what might have happened to her. He’s trying his best to help with the search; he stays up late going over the evidence. She just hopes he gets some sleep tonight.
