There had never been much hope in his life. His life was a deep, dark thing that was filled with death and despair. Everything he did was planned and precise, done with a goal in mind. Law saved Mugiwara Luffy and his brother because he felt that he would be a good ally, if needed. He wanted Mugiwara to owe him and saving not only his life, but his brother’s as well seemed to be a good way to get that favor.
When he saw the two brothers reunite after almost two weeks of Luffy being unconscious – almost one week of Ace hissing and cursing as he recovered from injuries he honestly should have died from – Law had felt numb. He had wished for something like this, years and years ago. With Lami, with Cora-san.
It was whatever.
Law tended to their wounds, made sure they would live, and then he left. There was no reason for him to stay, he made the impact he had wanted – had created a back up plan for his back up plan’s back up plan.
And then two years later, Mugiwara was showing up on Punk Hazard, bouncing his way over to him with a bright smile and gratitude. Law didn’t know when Mugiwara would come back to the spotlight, or that he would even show up on this island. It was messing with his plans, something he didn’t take too kindly to (something he eventually got used to).
Despite this, Law found himself staring down at his fellow captain and asking for an alliance. Pirate alliances always fell short, ended with betrayal and destruction. But Mugiwara Luffy seemed to have a code of honor, no matter how blurred, and Law saved his and his brother’s life. The one doing the betrayal would be Law, lying to them to get a chance to take out Doflamingo.
They probably weren’t going to be able to do it.
But Luffy was full of surprises. Haki had flowed off him, rage in his expression, as he declared Law his, his own foot keeping Doflamingo’s away from squashing Law like a bug.
Law watched the fight with bated breath, his arm being stitched back onto his shoulder, and maybe, he thinks, that is where the feeling had started.

“Shishishishi! Torao!” Luffy waved at him as he landed onto the ship. His happiness was misplaced, with them starting their raid, on an enemy ship, and headed straight for not one, but two Yonko of the sea. Despite this, Law felt a small smile spread his lips at the sight of his lover being him.
“Watch what you’re doing, Mugiwara-ya,” Law droned, raising an eyebrow as Luffy shi-shi-shi-ed at him and dodged an attack, eyes shining as he twisted and threw a punch at the man – who went flying through the wall of the ship.
“Torao, Gizao is joining us!” Luffy said cheerfully, and Law pulled a room as he looked over to said man.
He looked flushed in the face as he glared sharply at them, electricity bouncing around him as he used his Devil Fruit ability.
“Eustass-ya’s company isn’t needed,” Law scoffed, “I can handle this myself.”
“Eh?” Luffy tilted his head.
“The fuck you say, Trafalgar?!” Kidd screeched and Law raised a hand.
“Tact,” he murmured, the ship lifting. “I said I can handle this ship myself.”
Luffy nearly giggled as he jumped at the hoard of people, Kidd snarling as he followed Luffy’s lead, and Law jumped up, unsheathing Kikoku. The ship splintered and cracked not even seconds later, and all three of them dropped down onto what was left of the ship.
“I’ll handle that ship too,” Luffy said, cracking his knuckles as he eyed another warship headed their way.
“’Too’?” Law asked harshly.
“I destroyed this one, Mugiwara!” Kidd barked.
“Excuse me?” Law sneered, “I destroyed the ship and I’ll destroy that one too.”
“Huh!?” Luffy and Kidd chorused, and they all scowled at each other.
“Ne, ne, Torao, Gizao fits right?” Luffy said cheerfully, rubber arm shooting out to wrap around Kidd’s shoulders and pull him closer.
The captain shrieked, face red. “I said I wasn’t gonna date either of you!”
Law paused, looking between the two. “Luffy-ya, fuck no.”
“But Torao, you don’t know him yet!” Luffy whined, “He’s super strong!”
“I’m your boyfriend,” Law said blankly, “Kidd isn’t invited. We don’t want him.”
“OI!” Kidd barked, “What the fuck do you mean you don’t want me!? I’m a fucking gem!”
“See!?” Luffy cheered, “Gizao wants to date us too!”
“NO!”

“I fucking hate it here,” Kidd grumbled.
“Hmm, sure,” Law smirked, not taking his eyes off the medical book in his hands.
Luffy stretched languidly, as if he was a cat, pushing his face further into Kidd’s chest. Law’s smirk grew when he saw how his boyfriend ran his fingers through Luffy’s hair, a soft glint in his eyes as he stared at their shared boyfriend.
Kidd surely did hate it here.
“Will you get off my lap, my legs are falling asleep.” Kidd grunted, scowling.
“You’re complaining about having a handsome man in your lap?” Law asked, teasing.
“Huh, there’s a hot guy here?” Kidd mocked.
Law’s book met his forehead and Kidd cackled.

With Luffy known as one of the Four Emperors, they were chased by the marines quite often. It was sometimes months between when Law or Kidd – or both – could meet up with him in person, despite all of their efforts of staying in contact in person. It was with this in mind that Kidd took them to a bar – he liked booze, Luffy liked food, Law liked sake – and proposed.
“Of course!” Luffy had yelled, his voice loud enough to make everyone in the room stop and stare.
Law stared at him, golden eyes twinkling, “You could’ve done it better, but yes.”
“Fuck you, Trafalgar,” Kidd scoffed, flipping him off.
Law chortled, and it was the soft smile he sent at Kidd that made the captain not snap at his lover.
“Yay! We’re getting married!” Luffy wrapped them both in his arms, “Sabo and Ace’ll be so happy!”
Law suddenly paled, terror on his face and Kidd scoffed. As if some big brothers will scare him off.

Said Big Brothers were terrifying.
“I’d like to marry your brother,” Law had said, “I will only do so with your permission, and I know I am not exactly the man you would want for him. Luffy-ya deserves the best and my past shows otherwise, but I would be honored to have him as my husband.”
And Kidd? Kidd said something that had almost caused his death.
“I’m going to marry them if I have your permission or not, get fucked.”
Sabo smiled at him, the expression dark, hand grasping the pipe strapped to his back and Kidd almost felt like he was staring at death itself. Ace had fire flaring off his body, murder spat off his tongue and he even went as far as to lunge at Kidd. If not for Luffy grabbing his brothers and dragging them off, chirping something about catching up and sharing drinks, Kidd feels like he would be dead.
“As if some big brothers will scare you off.” Law mocked.
“Fuck off, I’m not scared off.” Kidd scoffed.
It was quiet for a moment.
“They’re fucking terrifying.” Kidd muttered.
“Yeah,” Law sighed, “You aren’t coming to dinner tomorrow.”
“What? Why not?” Kidd demanded, “I’m a delight!”
“You sure are,” Law deadpanned, “But I think Luffy would appreciate it just as much as I will, if our future brothers-in-law don’t kill you.”
“Fuck you, Trafalgar.”
“Sure, the Tang?”
Kidd sputtered.
