Work Text:
Lumine was starving .
It was really starting to get on her nerves. And it wasn’t that she needed food; she had plenty of that at home. With Xiao’s wealthy, noble vampiric status, money was never in short supply. It was that she was low on blood. Her fangs ached, and the assholes at the bar were really tempting. Maybe she could show them how to not fuck with her if she were to suck them dry.
While it was her day off, cleaning was a monumental task. She was about ready to smash the plates in the sink on the floor, slam the cupboards, and throw the bedsheets on the floor. All of them were mocking her, and she, for one, did not appreciate that. And it didn’t help that Xiao was gone. Not in a meeting, thankfully; they usually went late when there was one of those. No, he was out meeting an old client that wished to resume business.
That didn’t make it any less infuriating.
At this point, she couldn’t tell if she was hungry or horny. Both? One or the other? All she knew is that she needed something to satiate her, and being fucked senseless sounded really nice. Xiao had a lot more stamina than she did, so she would be properly blissful by the end of it. If only he weren’t gone. Was there a way that she could get back at him?
How dare he leave when she was so irate. But it was kind of a blessing, she supposed. She would’ve snapped at him by now, and if she jumped on him, rode him like a pony into the horizon, then he’d absolutely miss his important client deal. So, she tried to make do with what she could in his absence.
Toys? They weren’t doing her lust justice. Xiao’s clothes? They smelled of him, but they were nothing as good as the real thing. Riding a pillow? Only made her want him more. With a frustrated groan, she threw the pillow across the room, huffing on the couch. She needed to clean the leather, she knew that. The smell of blood still lingered, only making her fangs ache more.
Could she feed from herself, she wondered? Or would that just make it worse? She’d be losing blood at that point. But it felt so wrong to feed from a noble. Xiao had told her many, many times to drink from her. Alas, she’d tried to deny it as much as she could, only doing so when she was about to snap. She held herself in her legs, leaning her forehead on her knees. If she closed her eyes and steadied her breathing, she could ignore the pain. She didn’t want to feed.
Lumine knew that she shouldn’t be so stingy with herself. Xiao’d expressed that he wanted her to do so, but it was so difficult to get over the stigma in her brain. He might’ve been her husband, but he was a high ranking noble who was frowned upon by marrying a turned vampire. The glares she was given at those vampiric noble meetings had gotten into her head, and she didn’t want to admit it.
She finally heard the key turn on the door, sending a wave of relief through her. She looked up to see the face of her lover, walking back in, a tired look on his features. Damn it. He probably wouldn’t be in the mood to deal with her shit, and she didn’t want to burden him with it. Social interaction was never his thing, and being out of the house for so long probably wore him down. But, his eyes immediately locked onto Lumine’s, sitting on the couch with her legs pulled to her chest. Nothing but her black shirt on and underwear, almost as tired as he was.
“Hi honey,” Lumine said with a smile. It was a drained one, and one that immediately sent worry all throughout Xiao’s face.
“Hi… What’s wrong?” Shit. It was immediate. She could never hide anything from him, no matter how hard she tried. He pulled his noble jacket off, the navy blues and blacks never failing to make him even more beautiful than he already was. She could spy the pointy ears just beyond his black locks, and his amber eyes struck into her soul.
Lumine shrugged, trying her best to stave off his worry. “Nothing. It’s just been a frustrating day.”
“Frustrating?” He said with a frown. He kicked off his shoes, locked the door behind him, and pulled the top button off of his white shirt. It was only for a brief moment, but Lumine swallowed at the thought of getting to his neck. Beautiful and serene, with a sharp clavicle that never failed to make her weak. “How so?”
She glanced across to the rest of the house, pulling her gaze away from him. “I’m just in a mood. Everything I do just makes me…” She held her hands up in the air with a huff. “Annoyed. But, I’ll deal.”
“Do you intend to ‘deal’ alone?” Xiao asked, walking up to her and taking her cheek in his hand. When he tilted her head up to him, Lumine’s chest felt shallow. She couldn’t hide the way she raised up into his grasp, and the way she shuddered when his fingers ran down her neck and then back up to her chin. He hummed, his frown worsening. “Are you hungry?”
Lumine broke out of her stupor, slapping his hand to the side and standing. “I said I’ll deal with it on my own. You’ve had a rough day, go and relax.”
“How am I to relax when my lover cannot?”
She turned her back to him, huffing and crossing her arms. She hated how persistent he was. Sometimes, it could get very annoying. But, maybe that was her just being frustrated in general. And yet, she didn’t resist when she felt him against her body, a hand on her waist and the other tracing up and down her arm. He hummed, planting a kiss onto her shoulder.
Her gasp was shaky, his fingernails leaving fires on her skin. Immediately, her head leaned back, unable to keep a whimper away. Usually, that’d be enough for a man. A girl who was overly eager, every touch making her melt, that’d usually get her what she wanted. But no, not with Xiao. His lips turned from a kiss to a heavy frown, nosing her neck. “You’re overly sensitive.”
“Thanks, Captain Obvious,” she grumbled, arching back into him. A low groan met her ears, making her grin at least a little. Maybe she would be able to get what she wanted, without having to address the fact that she was starving. “And you’re a little eager, I take it?” She chuckled, pressing back into the tent starting to form behind her.
He huffed, taking his other hand away and pulling his head from her. In a fraction of a second, a finger was stuffed into her mouth. Her yelp turned into a whine at the familiar taste of iron that she’d so desperately needed, sucking on his finger more eagerly than she’d wanted to admit. After a moment of realization, she yanked his hand out of her mouth and stumbled away. His expression met her glare, extremely unpleased.
“You’re hungry.”
“I’m fine .”
“No, you won’t be,” he retorted, crossing his arms. His finger still bled from where he pricked himself.
“How can you be sure?” Lumine snarled. “You’re not in my body.”
Xiao sighed. “No, but I’ve seen hungry turned vampires go feral. They refuse to feed from their host, so they go mad.”
“I’m going to be fine, Xiao,” Lumine continued to grumble at him. “You don’t need to be so damn worried.”
“Did the people at the bar look appetizing?”
Lumine froze, glanced at him with a confused eyebrow. “What do you mean?”
“The patrons at the bar,” he said. “Do you find the urge to feed from them?”
She scoffed, shaking her head. “No.”
“Your coworkers?”
“No!”
“How about the men who annoy you?” He tilted his head, his glare deepening. “Do you feel that it’d be easier to bite them, to get them off your case?”
Shit. He got her there. And she didn’t have a retort to that one. When he was met with silence, he held the bridge of his nose with a hefty, frustrated sigh. “You’re killing yourself, Lumine.”
“I don’t want to feed from you!”
“Why not?” Xiao snapped, glaring daggers into her. “Are the other nobles making you uncomfortable?”
“My blood is muddled!” Lumine snapped back. “I already feel bad enough that you drink from me as is! It’s comparable to a servant or a slave!”
“And yet, servants and slaves still need to feed from their masters to stay sane.” Xiao was near seething, which was a rare sight in and of itself. He was never one to get outright mad. He could get frustrated, sure, but angry was something in and of itself. And Lumine was pushing him towards that point. Yet she, too, was seething. This was the one thing, the one thing that they fought over, and it was reaching a breaking point. “We’re never going to get anywhere in this conversation if you’re in this state.”
“In a state?!” Lumine couldn’t believe it. This entire conversation, boiled down to a state , when it was so much deeper than that. Her blood boiled, her head ringing and her hands aching from her balled fists. “This has been going on for so damn long, and you’re narrowing it down to that?! You’re really gonna—”
She was cut off with Xiao’s mouth, as a swift motion pulled her into his arms. With a yelp, she tried to pull herself away, but her efforts were like putty. It was true, she was very, very sensitive, and he knew all of her damn spots. His tongue invaded her mouth, cutting off any argument that she could possibly muster, replacing it with gasps and moans.
It was pitiful how she arched into him the moment his hand snaked up the back of her shirt. And damn it, he was soft about it. He always was. In moments like this, she wanted him to just be rough with her, to let out his frustrations to justify her anger. But his other hand tangled in her blonde locks, holding her like she was the most precious thing to him, made tears prick at the sides of her eyes.
His touch set fires ablaze on her skin, too much and not enough at the same time. She was already whimpering through what breaths she was allowed, and all he was doing was raking his fingernails up and down her back. His tongue made sure to pull along the bottom of her fang, and with a loud whine, she gulped up every drop of blood that he gave her. Fuck, she was such a mess for him. Her instinct was to lean into him, to get more, and it was enough to send them stumbling back to the couch.
Now, finally, Xiao was at her mercy. She wasted no time in situating herself on his lap, relishing in the groan he gave at her deep grind. The coil in her gut was already so tight, and they hadn’t even done anything. She couldn’t tell if it was because she was so damn needy, or if she was craving Xiao himself. Either way, the feeling of his hands on her ass felt amazing, so she wasn’t going to complain.
They were barely giving each other time to breathe. When one pulled away, they were pulled back not a second later. Lumine could tell that Xiao was used to foreplay, since he tried to snake his one hand up to her breast, but she quickly pulled it away, guiding it down to the bulge in his pants.
“Gimmie,” Lumine breathlessly commanded, and with a deep and heady groan, he complied. She heard him fumbling with his belt, albeit messily, since she’d since dived into him again, but soon enough, she felt his cock against her abdomen.
She didn’t even care to pull her underwear off. She rose up, pointing Xiao’s head to her, both hands on the sides of his head. If this didn’t tell him how much she wanted him, then she didn’t know how else she could say it. It surprised her too, for a second, that she was more engrossed in drinking him in than the pumps he gave to his dick beneath her. But, with the guidance of his hands, she pushed aside her underwear to allow him into her entrance.
Both of them let out a long, harmonized moan, a gasp spilling from each of their lips. Fuck, did she need this. She already pulsed against him, tight and needy, ready to be wrecked. Based on the shaky breaths that he gave, he needed her just as badly. So, Lumine decided to give them both what they wanted, rising up to snap down on him. But, Xiao had other plans.
Before she could actually get off him, his hands clamped onto her thighs, holding her down to him. Lumine whimpered, trying again, but with no luck. Her insides were on fire, her coil so close to giving her what she wanted, but Xiao refused to let her have it. She pulled away from their kiss, wiggling as best as she could to get something . She felt so full, and yet, it wasn’t enough in the slightest.
“Xiaooo,” Lumine whined, trying to grind again. But he was strong, and she was not able to move. “Xiao please—”
“No.”
She unhappily whimpered, doing her damndest to shift, but to no avail. “Wwwhyyy??? Please, Xiao, it hurts—”
And fuck did it. The intense need pooling inside her was too much for her. She needed him to do something, to satiate herself. Everything she had was bottled up too tightly, wanting to overflow and release, but denied to do so. One of Xiao’s hands rested against the back of her head and pulled it down. Not to a kiss, but to his neck.
“Feed,” he growled. It wasn’t a question this time, it was an order.
Her wits that were still left in her combatted each other. On one hand, she was so terribly hungry, but on the other, it didn’t feel right to do so. She tried to put her hands on his chest to push off of him, but he wouldn’t allow it. “X-Xiao, c’mon…”
With a quick snap of his hips, he gave her one powerful thrust, pulling a scream from her. Gods, that was what she wanted, and yet, it was gone too soon. He steadied her back down on him, refusing to budge once more. Her whines were louder, tears now flowing down her cheeks. “X-Xiao, p-please—”
“I won’t keep going unless you feed,” he growled into her ear, his voice an octave lower. That alone made her gasp, shivers running violently through her body.
“I-I d-don’t want—”
She was cut off by another rough snap of her hips, one that left her nothing but a mess in his arms. The grip on her thigh was sure to leave bruises in the morning, and her brain was starting to lose all sense. He had her in an iron cage, and she didn’t want to admit that this whole thing was incredibly sexy. She’d never tell him that, though. It was topped off by another rough thrust, and a purr in her ear.
“Won’t you be a good girl and feed from me?”
She couldn’t keep it together anymore. She bit into his neck.
The reaction from Xiao was different than she was anticipating. He let out a loud, relieved moan, like he’d just gotten the treatment that Lumine was after. His head tilted back, allowing her more access, and his chest shakily heaved. At the same time, Lumine drank from him like she’d been lost in a desert wasteland and given access to water for the first time in weeks. And fuck did it taste heavenly.
She’d drank from “normal” vampires before. Like, when she was very hungry and didn’t want to go to Xiao, she’d sometimes be able to get by with Aether’s blood. While he was always reluctant about it, saying that she should really have Xiao’s blood, he would make sure that she wasn’t hungry. While it was good, and did its job, it was comparable to an okay meal when stopping on a road trip. Xiao, however, was a dish served by angels at a five star restaurant.
Stupidly sweet, rich, delectable, everything that Lumine’d ever wanted. It wasn’t able to be fully described. Fresh cooked cookies, but also a refreshing bottle of water, but also the best cooked steak, all at the same time. Lumine couldn’t stop, even if she’d wanted to. And Xiao didn’t even try to. As she stained his neck and his lovely white shirt, he placed loving kisses to her shoulder, her cheek, her neck, while also running his hands up and down her back.
Finally, Xiao’s grip on her had turned soft again, instead turning to wrap around her waist. She pulled away from his neck with a gasp as he finally gave her what she needed. He thrust into her, moaning in time with her, though hers were near yells. Lumine dug her nails into his chest, unable to keep her tears at bay.
“A-Ah f-fuuu uuckk Xiao—Yesyesyesyesyes yesssss—”
Xiao grunted at hearing his name spill from her lips, allowing himself to give in himself. A sting met her shoulder, and a wave of euphoria hit her as Xiao stole her blood for himself. In response, Lumine bit down into him once more, yelping when he picked up his pace. Wet sounds resounded around the room, along with muffled grunts and groans as each of them filled their gullets.
At long last, Lumine’s coil snapped, tightening around Xiao’s cock. “ Xiiaooooo!!!” She screamed, throwing her head back. Xiao groaned, his thrusts becoming more and more ragged, until he spilled his seed into her. Through her feebled breath, Lumine could feel herself shaking in his arms. She felt as if she’d just been splashed with ice cold water: freezing, but snapped to attention. Mixed with the red in her cheeks, and the sinking feeling in her chest, she couldn’t help her sobs.
She’d been so mean. So angry at him, when all he wanted to do was help. Sure, she’d been hungry, but that didn’t excuse the tone she used. Especially after he’d had such a long day with someone he wasn’t thrilled to go see. So, she curled up into his neck, becoming small against his chest, nosing the blood that was left behind.
“‘M sorry…” she whispered, only to sob more at the sweet kiss that was placed to the side of her head.
“I’m sorry too,” he sighed, running his nose along her neck, leaving sporadic kisses behind. “I should’ve noticed sooner. Talked about it sooner.”
Lumine halfheartedly laughed through a sniffle. “I-I mean, it’s mostly my fault. I’ve been so… so reluctant. That’s not fair to you.”
“Nor is it to you,” he countered. “You need food, too.”
“It feels wrong,” she whispered, stifling another sob.
“Why?” He asked, far less aggressive than before. “What holds you back?”
“I don’t deserve you,” she whimpered. “I-I’ve always just been a normal girl. I don’t deserve someone so… so…” Xiao let her get her thoughts together and she sobbed through them. “So wonderful. N-None of the nobles think I deserve you, either. A-All the glares and sneers and the jabs at you because of me…? I-I don’t want that.”
Xiao hummed, frowning against her skin. “Did you not want to be a vampire…?” His voice was quiet, like he’d never wanted to ask that question. “I’m sorry if—”
“No, I did,” Lumine cut him off, giving a lick to the blood she’d left behind. Xiao shivered, nuzzling further into her. She could feel his eyelashes against her skin, telling her that he’d closed his eyes. “I love you, i-it’s just… I feel that I shouldn’t be able to so readily indulge. Does that make sense…?”
“It does,” he said. “Is part of it that you’re not used to being a part of the vampire world?”
Lumine sheepishly laughed. “That’s part of it, yeah.”
Xiao hummed. “Well, I suppose that’s on me. I should’ve explained it more. But wedded vampires are very…” He thought about it for a second before continuing. “ Connected , I should say. It’s very difficult for them to part ways, so feeding from each other is something that’s very important to the pair.”
“Like beavers?”
Xiao paused, and she could feel the confusion written in the crease of his brow on her shoulder. It was enough for Lumine to start snickering, and she pulled back just to see the expression on his face. Comparable to a dog wondering why you are on the wrong side of the door. “What?”
“Like beavers!” Lumine chirped. “Beavers mate for life, and build homes together. So, like beavers!”
It took a moment, but Xiao eventually chuckled, leaning his head back into the couch, amber eyes alight with adoration. “Sure, like beavers.” He raised a hand up to wipe some of the blood away from her mouth. “Do you feel better?”
Lumine sighed, leaning into him. “Yeah… Sorry that I’m so stubborn.”
“Well, I should know, I married you.”
“Hey!”
Xiao snickered, then softly sighed. “Would it make you feel better if I said that it feels good when you do feed?”
Lumine glanced down, then back at him. “…Really?”
“Yes.”
“How much?”
“A lot.” He tilted his head at her. “A lot a lot. I feel connected.”
“Better than post nut clarity?”
Xiao snorted, and Lumine giggled at it. He shook his head, but there was a smirk still there. “Yes, better. Though…” He snapped his hips again, making Lumine gasp. It was enough to reignite the fire in her gut, and upon looking back at him, he had a small, devious grin on his face. “I’ll never complain to both at the same time. How do you feel about round two, my love?”
The next day, her body felt sore.
In a good way, thankfully, but sore nonetheless. There were bites all along her shoulders and either side of her neck, and she felt dizzy just trying to sit up from bed. They’d both taken a lot out of each other, so much so that Xiao didn’t even move when she finally wormed her way out of his grasp to go to the bathroom.
When she came out, she leaned on the doorway, taking in the sight. Xiao was shirtless, riddled with his own set of bite marks, scratches and hickies. He was blissfully asleep, his pointed ears sticking out of his messied hair. His dirty clothes had been throw into the hamper, and Lumine’s eyes lingered on it. Eventually, she sighed, sitting back on the edge of the bed and picking up her phone.
Based on the projected stains that they were going to be dealing with, she added several bottles of heavy duty stain fighter to their shopping list. It’d take a little bit to get rid of her stigma, but if it felt good for both of them, then… she was okay with feeding regularly. And he’d made a comment that he was excited to smirk at the nobles, since they’d be able to smell both of their bloods mingling on their clothes. It made her heart flutter more just thinking about it.
She felt a hand trail on her back, and she looked to see Xiao, very sleepily squinting at her. She smiled, putting her phone back down. “G’morning, love.”
“Mmmn,” he replied, trying to blearily blink the sleep out of his eyes. “‘Mm back,” he got out, voice gravely, hand grabbing at her.
And who was she to deny him that?
As she snuggled back in with her lover, who promptly fell asleep once more, Lumine couldn’t help but feel like the luckiest girl in the world.
