"Tall flat white for Brienne!"
The woman stepped forward and picked up the short cup, which seemed even smaller in her large hand. "Thanks," she smiled as she headed towards the door.
The man pushed his blonde hair out of his eyes. "Not a problem, you have a great day."
"You too; thank you," Brienne managed before she hurried out and into her car.
Dammit. She knew she had to work up the courage to say something to him eventually; she had been going in every day for nearly a month. But what did she know about him, besides that his name tag said Jaime?
That's why people go on dates, Brienne. To get to know each other.
She took a sip of the coffee and started her car. Maybe tomorrow would be the day.

"Hey, you're in the drive-thru today," Jaime laughed as she pulled up to the window.
"Got places to be," Brienne replied, trying her best to sound casual. "But I had to stop by and see yo - I mean, get a cof - I mean -" God this is a disaster.
Jaime's eyebrows were rising as she stumbled over her words. "It's not a problem if you're here for more than just the coffee," he laughed nervously.
"That's good," Brienne chuckled with relief. "Because I...well, I'd really like to..." Fuck it. "I like you."
As valiantly as he tried to hide it, a blush was rapidly climbing Jaime's cheeks. "Let me get that coffee for you - tall flat white, right?"
"That's the one," Brienne said, trying not to sound too disappointed. He was doing his job. And God, that had been the most disastrous confession of her feelings to someone yet - and she had gone through some doozies.
In what felt like seconds, Jaime was back at the window. "Have a great day, Brienne!"
"Thanks Jaime; you too," she smiled, driving off. As the cup came away from her lips, she noticed something that hadn't been there yesterday - a set of digits that didn't look hastily scrawled at all. With a laugh, she wondered how long he had been waiting for her to ask. Guess I did okay after all.
