Chapter Text
The evening air was cool and crisp. Something that anyone would enjoy after a nice and long night after a hard day of work. Anyone would kill for weather like this wouldn’t they? Though there is one man, that doesn’t see it that way, as the nights only remind him of something horrible.
Of all his failures thus far, it was the night that he could never forget. It happened a couple weeks ago now and it still haunted him. None of it was fair, even though he knew that life itself wasn’t always just, but this only made it all the more unfair for him.
The young man managed to get into his apartment that was lined with frames of records and posters on the wall that were of rock bands. The lights were dimly lit in his home though he couldn’t really care about the posters right now. Hell he would have given up everything just to find him. Though he knew that he had to try to relax or else he wouldn’t be able to clear his thoughts of everything that had happened though at the same time, he didn’t want to forget. He wanted to make sure that he never forgot a single detail.
Looking around his apartment, the young man knew that he would have to get ready for bed. He was just so exhausted, and thankful that tomorrow he had off so he could go back to his search. That was the only thing that mattered to him was to keep up his search. Though there only one place that he hasn’t checked yet because he hadn’t had a good enough reason to even be there.
Rubbing at his face before running his hand through his shaggy brown hair, wanting to brush them away from his eyes.
’Another night… another failed attempt at finding him.’ thought the young man before he let out a soft sigh as he shrugged off his jacket as he started to make his way to the bathroom to have a shower. Maybe that would make him feel better. Or at least put a smile on his face though that may be putting a lot on the idea of anything letting him feel better.
Rubbing his face once again, the young man got to the bathroom and turned on the shower. Turning his gaze to the mirror, his blue eyes seeming to glow in the dim light. Flipping the light switch, the lights came to life. Allowing his reflection to stare back at him, blue eyes with dark shadows under them. His red earring glistened in the lights.
Even the dim of his eyes had faded, a mix of his own sadness and the lights being on. It was something that people had always thought were strange for him. How his eyes would just ‘glow’ like they had. Wasn’t enough that he was a tall kid, but he had to have freaky eyes.
Now as an adult, he was over six feet tall, muscular and still had the glowing eyes. Weird combination for him but nothing he couldn’t handle. Getting a better look at his face, he couldn’t help but notice that the goatee was a little long for him. Frowning a little he gave that a quick trim. After that he got himself in the shower and started to get himself cleaned up.
Afterwards, the young man walked out and wrapped a towel around his waist before making his way to his room. His hair hung in his forehead, and thus over his eyes while he was deep in thought. Unsure as to what he was to do… his searches, being gone so late at night between jobs… it was exhausting though he knew that he couldn’t give up. There was no way that he could, there was just too much at risk right now.
Letting out a sigh, the young man rubbed at his face pushing his hair back in the process, he was just unsure as to what it was that he should do. No one is willing to help him, or they can’t. That was the most upsetting about the whole thing though he also couldn’t blame them. No one had an idea as to what had happened that day… It was still as painful as the day it had happened, and he didn’t know what he could do…
Shaking his head, he threw on some boxers and went to lay down in bed. Maybe he just needed some sleep. He just felt so tired… all he wanted was to get some sleep. Rolling over in bed, he stared at the clock, unsure as to what it was that he could do. Just staring at the clock, it was late in the evening, around 10PM which made him all the more exhausted. Having spent all of his energy searching…
Now he wanted to sleep but at the same time he didn’t think that he could. His mind was still abuzz with everything that has happened. Too much was happening and it was just overwhelming for his mind to handle and it was just so exhausting. He didn’t even know if he could even sleep
Yet, he found himself starting to close his eyes after a little while, only to end up hearing a ring hitting him.
Blinking his eyes open slowly he saw that he had only had his eyes closed for a few minutes. Making him frown a little before he reached over with a grunt and grabbed a hold of his phone and looked at the caller ID. ’What is my manager doing calling me?’ thought the young man before he answered it. “Do you know what time it is? I was just going to bed.” Grumbled the shaggy haired man.
”Freddy! Come on is it a bad thing that I wanted to call you about a job?” said the voice of his manager.
Rolling his eyes, rubbing at his temple with his free hand. There was a reason why he needed to get a new manager, the man had no sense of time for others. Would call people at any given time no matter if they were asleep or not. Yeah, he is gonna have to start putting his phone on Do Not Disturb at night. “What kind of job is it Dave? Make it quick please, I want to at least try to get some sleep tonight.” Freddy grumbled softly.
”Well, I just thought I’d let you know that I was able to get you and the band performing jobs at the Megaplex. You guys have a two week long performing gig there-“ His voice was starting to fade from him in that moment. Thinking back to the day that he had last heard of that place…
Freddy sat down on his lounge chair, letting out a deep sigh after a long and hard day performing. The concert had taken a little longer than expected but hey, the fans were happy and wanted to hear more. Though he couldn’t help but frown a little as he looked at the time. It was strange that his friend is late coming home. Normally he is home a lot sooner, hell he was normally home before the young man was.
Maybe he had to stay out later tonight for some reason or another. That happens now and again so it is possible so maybe he didn’t have to worry about anything.
Shaking his head, the young man leaned back in his chair, wanting to have a nap but at the same time he didn’t want to sleep due to the possibility of over sleeping and not being able to go to bed later on. Though as he relaxed he just couldn’t help but keep looking at the clock on his wall. It was just so strange for his friend to not have returned. “Hope he’s alright.” Freddy mumbled to himself before he let out a yawn. “Maybe I’ll just go to-“
His phone started to ring.
Blinking his eyes a couple times, he reached into his pants pocket and pulled out his phone as he answered. “Hello?”
”Hello, is this Mr. Fazbear?” said a voice, causing Freddy to frown a little.
“Yes, may I ask whose calling?” asked Freddy with a frown.
”This is detective King with the police. I’m at the Megaplex due to a disappearance that has occurred.”
Freddy felt his blood freeze in that moment. His arm started to tremble, while his free hand dug his nails into the arm of the chair. Oh dear god no, he hoped that wasn’t what he was thinking was going to be the case. It can’t be, he had to be dreaming this right? There was no way that this could be possible. There was just no way that it could be possible. Right? “What… what kind of disappearance? How did you get my number?” asked the young man.
”Well we found the cell phone of the one who had been reported missing. Among the many children that had gone missing over the years, there has been only one adult who has been reported missing. His name is-“
A buzzing hit his ear as he swore that he heard someone yelling his name. Blinking his eyes a couple times, the young man looked around his bedroom and saw that he was laying on his bed and that his manager was on the phone talking to him. “Sorry Dave I zoned out. Because it’s 10PM!”
”I’m saying, that you and the others go to the Megaplex. You all don’t even have to leave as everything will be presented for you in your green rooms. Even the couches can be made into beds for you all. So you don’t have to worry about going back to your apartments and you also have free range of the whole Megaplex while you’re there.” said Dave with a happy tone to his voice.
Blandly staring at his phone for a moment, Freddy calmly said “Great, you thought of that stuff. But Dave you couldn’t have told me this in the morning?”
A chuckle was heard, causing Freddy to roll his eyes. ”I had to tell you the good news quickly! I didn’t want to risk forgetting.”
“That’s why you write it down.” Freddy deadpanned.
”I don’t have a means of writing things down.” Dave said before saying ”Now, I need you and the others there tomorrow night. Your first show will be around 8PM. Be there or I’ll have to cut your pay.”
Before Freddy could say anything, he just sighed saying “We pay you Dave.” Then started to think ’Plus it’s my day off tomorrow… ugh… he forgot my day off again.’ With that, he started to put his phone away. Maybe it was best to just sleep and think more about firing that guy tomorrow morning. After a good night sleep. He was too exhausted to even think about the performance. The only thing his mind was filled with was the memories that had been brought up due to the mention of the Megaplex…
Blinking his eyes slowly, the young man couldn’t help but stare at the clock on his side table. His thoughts just kept going back to that night…
As he was drifting off to sleep, Freddy only had one thought…
’I’ll find you… I promise… I won’t give up till I find you no matter what.’
Freddy was in his green room getting ready for the show. Getting his costume ready for the night though as he got good to go, he couldn’t help but look around the room. It was red, his favorite colour. Decorated in his posters and standees that are normally in music stores. It was weird to say the least that they had it all set up like this already. Did they already know that they would be coming here from the get go or they had a lot of people to do a quick job?
Made him wonder if it was like this for the others.
Frowning, he shook his head and went back to the task at hand. Putting on the blue make up on, starting from his left to right temple, going around his eyes, over the bridge of his nose and then outlining that with red. Blinking his eyes a couple times, he double checked to make sure that it was put on properly. After that he put a blue stripe on his chin, away from his beard.
Double checking that he has no stains on his white t-shirt, blue thunder bolt still in place in the middle of the top, and was clean. After that, he slipped on his red vest. He wasn’t a fan of the shoulder pads that his vest had though for now it was part of his costume.
Reaching over, he grabbed the bow tie that he would just tie around his neck before reaching out for his black top hat. Something about it just made people smile seeing a rock star wearing a top hat. Or that it just suited him in the first place so he couldn’t really complain. He did like how it looked on him.
Getting up, he checked himself over to make sure that nothing else was out of place. Blue nail polish in place on his nails… Black pants, matching black combat boots. Spike arm band on left bicep and wrists Checking himself over in the mirror, he nodded his head and smiled. At least for the fans, he could be happy even though deep down… he was still depressed about his loss.
Running a hand through his hair, thankful that his nails had dried off before he made his way to the door in the back of his room that would lead him to the lift that would take him to the stage. As he made his way there, he grabbed his microphone yet was deep in thought.
This was the only place that he hadn’t been able to get to. Even he knew that you couldn’t just ‘march in’ to places like this. You for one would have to pay obviously, but even then, the workers wouldn’t allow you to just look around places that are for workers only. Didn’t matter if he was looking for his friend or not, it wouldn’t matter to them and for that he never had the chance to look…
Now… he can.
It just seemed so strange, like the stars had finally aligned for him to be able to look at the only place he hadn’t had a chance to. Strange as it was, he couldn’t help but feel happy that he could do this at long last… Freddy knew that he would just have to hurry up with his search for him here as it had been far too long. Who knew if he was even eating.
With that in mind, he made his way over to the lift, walking down the long hallway. Wondering just how long this hall even was. Made him wonder if there had been lots of bands here in the past that had them do it this way for safety reasons. Then, he noticed his friends standing near the platform that would take them to the stage, waiting for him. “What took you so long Freddy?” asked a man as he ran his hand over his red mohawk that mostly hung over the left side of his face. He was taller than even Freddy. He was muscular, maybe even more so than the red clad man himself. Though never tested that theory out personally.
The man before him wore a purple vest that covered most of his torso, even had shoulder pads to go with it, purple fingerless gloves, green scaled pants that clung to his skin. Made people think of alligator skin to say the least. Spiked bracelets and a matching belt. Purple framed sunglasses in the shape of stars over his red eyes. Even wore black boots, which seemed to suit him perfectly in all honesty. The colour scheme also worked out in bringing out his tanned skin.
“Sorry Monty, I was trying to make sure everything was in place.” Freddy half-lied. He was mostly deep in thought while getting ready, so it took him longer than usual to get ready.
“Freddy, you need to start getting your head on straight. You can’t let the smallest mistakes bother you so much. After all, the fans can’t see you that close up from the stage.” Said a woman of average height. She had a slightly curvy figure which was covered up with a red crop top and matching shorts that had black stars on them. Also like everyone in the group she had shoulder pads as well…
She had matching bracelets around her wrists that would clink as she moved around though had a spiked anklet. Though those was mostly hidden by the purple leg and arm warmers that was striped black. Made Freddy think of a zebra for sure. As for her eyes, they look like a bright green, though her one eye was covered by her long grey hair though there was a green stripe that was hanging over between her eyes.
Purple lipstick that helped to bring more colour to her pale ‘flawless’ skin as she calls it. Finally her outfit had heeled sandals with her painted green toenails and fingernails that would glow in the dark while on stage. Wanting to make sure that her fans could always see her.
“I’ll be alright Roxy, you don’t need to doubt my process.” Freddy said with a smile, hoping to make it seem like he had nothing troubling on his mind.
“Are you sure? You sure that you’re okay?” asked the last member of the band.
Turning to stare at the shortest member, Freddy couldn’t help but frown at her.
The young woman before him had pale skin, her white hair was pulled up in a high ponytail atop of her head with a pink ribbon. Her blue eyes lined in purple eyeshadow, and her lips were painted pink. Pink lines decorated her cheeks bringing some colour to them. As well as a couple lines around her right eye. She was curvy and wore a pink body suit that made him think of the 80’s.
She also had on pink and green leg warmers that were striped black. She mostly wore flats, saying that she didn’t like wearing heels. To finish off her outfit, she had on green triangle earrings that suited her.
Giving her a soft smile, he calmly said “I’m okay Chica, I promise I’m okay.” He gave her a small pat atop of her head, seeing her as the little sister he never had. So he never wanted her to worry about him. “So, let’s go up on stage and rock everyone so much that their socks fall off shall we?” He said with a big smile on his face. Hoping that would be enough to help calm everyone when it came to him.
Everyone of course looked at him with worried eyes. Or at least their version of worried gazes before everyone started to make their way to the lift.
Music started to play, causing him to smile a bit. Music was one of the things that made him happy, so at least that was some happiness to him though at the same time he couldn’t help but take a deep breath wanting to calm his troubled heart. Looking over at the others, seeing them getting their instruments ready. Roxy with her keytar. Monty with his base and Chica with her guitar.
As for his own, he just had a microphone on a stand. Even though he himself knew how to play other instruments like the others, they preferred to have him just sing and dance about with his stand. Shrugging a little to himself, he took another deep breath, hoping to get himself to calm down. This would happen here and there.
Once they were on the stage, everyone jumped up into the lights as they poured in. Smiling, everyone cheered at the band. Freddy smiled all the more, holding his microphone and doing some moves with it as he danced. Leaning back to back with Chica as they grooved out to the music.
Roxy and Monty were on the lifts that were on the stage as they rose up into the air. Freddy of course smiled up at them, thankful that he didn’t have to go on the lift as he didn’t like heights to say the least.
Chica would perform and look over at the fans, watching a lot of them cheer at the band, scream and cheer. It brought life to Freddy and he couldn’t help but smile. Made him feel like his troubles had faded for the time being which allowed his heart to calm down.
Soon, the music had started to quiet down so Freddy knew that he would have to get in form. Getting in place, he raised his microphone into the air before getting to the center of the stage. Just as he gazed around the crowd, a smile on his face as he went to sing.
Only to feel something hit him at the back of his head. He opened his mouth like he was about to scream or at least cry out though nothing came out or it was lost in the crowd. Everything was starting to blur and spin around him. Darkening around the edges of his vision as he stumbled on the stage.
“Freddy?” came Chica’s voice as she was closest to him.
He looked over at his friend and frowned a little at her. Everything was so blurred out that if it wasn’t for the colours she wore then he would have thought she was someone else. Freddy tried again to speak, tried to say anything that would tell her that something was wrong, yet like before, nothing came out, even if there wasn’t music around them then it was still likely that no one can hear him.
He was stumbling around the stage, the microphone dropping from his hand which caused everyone to stop what they were doing. Unsure if this was part of the show, or if something really was wrong. No one could be sure.
“Yo Fred you alright?” came Monty’s voice, hearing footsteps rushing to him.
Before anyone else could say anything he fell backward. Felt like the world was slipping from him in that moment. As if there was something worse wrong with him than just a weird pain in the back of his head. Hitting the stage roughly, his eyes slowly going blank as he stared out at the crowd. Seeing everyone starting to panic and scream wondering what it was that had happened to the leader of the band. Though for a moment, Freddy thought he saw someone just staring at him from the crowd. Someone familiar and almost thought he couldn’t be sure. All he knew, was that as he stared, he could tell that he was starting to lose consciousness as he felt darkness take his vision.
Among the craziness of the crowd, Freddy made out the familiar figure running the other way, away from the crowd. Before he could think more about it, he closed his eyes and passed out.
