Samuel and Annella took a walk in the garden after Oliver called and Annella found Elio crying by the fireplace. It was distressing to watch Elio go through the pain of loss but it was all a part of growing up.
" Samuel, do you think Oliver is making the right decision?" Annella suddenly asked.
"You mean getting married?"
"Well, yes, that and to a woman." Annella replied.
" Everyone finds their own way in this world. People come in and out of our lives. We love and let go many times, each time we end our relationships, we leave a bit of ourselves and take a bit of them with us." Samuel replied
"I feel sad for Elio though, he was so sure that Oliver would come back. To be honest, I thought he would too."
" Oliver knows what he needs. Elio is quite young and we never end up with the first person we fall in love with." Samuel replied.
"Do you know what I found in the trash after Oliver called? Billowy." Annella told him.
"Billowy? What's that?" Samuel asked.
"That blue shirt that Oliver gave to Elio. He always called it Billowy. I found it in the trash the next day."
" That's very sad, what did you do with it?"
" Kept it of course, Elio might want it again some day, after the pain and loss. You know Elio, he is impulsive and regrets what he did almost immediately."
" Do you think Oliver will invite us to the wedding?"
" As much as I love Oliver, I hope he doesn't." Annella frowns.
" But why?" Samuel questions.
"Elio would want to go and I think seeing Oliver marrying someone else would be too much for him. A heart can only break so many times before it can never beat correctly again."
"I suppose you are right. Elio will eventually meet his forever love but will always remember his first love, because I did." He takes Annella into his arms and kisses her tenderly.
" My love, so did I." Annella whispers back.
As Samuel held Annella he thought about Oliver and his marriage decision. Was he getting married for the right reason? He completely avoided Charia the entire time he was at the villa, even after he had initiated the flirtation. He hoped Oliver was making the right decision but was afraid he wasn't.
