Work Text:

“You want me to go with you to your parents house?”

“Yeah. It’s no big deal, right?” Mark questions his boyfriend.

“No big deal? Mark, I’ve never met them.”

“Yes, you have. We facetime them once a week.”

“That’s different. I’ve never met them personally. That’s a big step in our relationship. What if they don’t like me?” Mark thought his boyfriend looked really cute when he was nervous, he spoke in pout and his cheeks got big.

“Hyuckie, baby, they already love you. Besides, my mum invited you.”

-

Two months had gone by since Mark first told Donghyuck he wanted him to go visit his parents in Canada for two weeks with him. The nerves Donghyuck first had on that day only grew bigger as time approached.

The plane they were in was almost landing in Toronto, Donghyuck had to wake up his boyfriend soon, Mark had fallen asleep the moment the plane took off in Seoul, which did not help the Korean boy at all, only contributing to his nervousness.

“Mark.” Donghyuck was gently shaking the older, not wanting to scare him. “Mark, baby, we’re almost there.” He kisses hot boyfriend’s cheek and then his nose, Mark finally waking up, with a small smile on his lips.

“Did you enjoy your flight, baby?” He asks Donghyuck after giving him a small kiss on the lips.

“No. Couldn’t sleep at all. Was busy worrying about what your parents will think of me.” Mark puts his arm around his boyfriend’s shoulder, making the younger lean against his chest.

“There’s nothing for you to worry about, I told you they love you already.” He kisses the top of Donghyuck’s head in an attempt to ease the other boy, which seems to work because Mark feels his boyfriend relaxing against him.

-

“Mum! Dad! I missed you!” The first thing Mark does when he sees his parents is hug them, it has been too long since he last saw them.

“My baby! We missed you too! You can’t be without visiting for this long.” Donghyuck watches from the side the sweet moment Mark was having with his family, he can’t imagine what it felt like to live so far away from the people you love most in the world.

“This is Donghyuck, my boyfriend.”

“Oh my god! He’s even prettier in person! Hello Donghyuck, it’s nice to finally meet you in person.” The smiles on Mark’s parents’ face was enough to take all the worries away from Donghyuck’s body.

“It’s nice to finally meet you too Mr. and Mrs. Lee.”

They go inside the house, Mark’s dad going to his office to finish off some work related stuff and his mother taking the boys to the living room so they could have a little chat before dinner time.

Time flies really fast and soon it was 11PM and Mark’s parents had excused themselves and gone to bed, the young couple following after them. When they’re inside Mark’s old bedroom and the door is closed, Mark wastes no time in connecting their lips in a messy kiss and guiding Donghyuck to his old bed.

-

They're laying in bed now, cuddling. Donghyuck with his head resting on Mark's chest, while the older is moving his hand on his arm in a soothing way.

"I don't think you understand how much I like you." Mark smiles down at the boy.

"Like?" Donghyuck looks up, a pout forming on his face, Mark chuckles at his boyfriend's cuteness.

"Love, baby. I love you so much."

"I love you too." It's Donghyuck's turn to smile now, the older caressing his cheek and leaning down to connect their lips in a sweet kiss.

Sweet but not for long, both boys wanted to let the other know just how much they loved each other, and even if they usually show affection through words, right now, at this very moment, in Mark's childhood bedroom back in his hometown, while his parents are sleeping in the room next door, actions speak louder than words.

"It's my turn to make you feel good, Markie." Donghyuck is smirking and Mark knows it will be a long night, rolling around in the sheets with the boy he loves most.

-

When Donghyuck wakes up the next day he can feel the smell of freshly cooked eggs, but he can also smell something burning so he rushes downstairs in fear his boyfriend had the stupid idea of trying to cook. Once he arrives at the kitchen, Donghyuck’s fears become reality, Mark was in fact cooking, or trying to, and to worsen things even more, he was alone.

“What are you trying to do?”

“I’m making us breakfast. Nothing bad has happened. Yet.”

“Let me help you.” Donghyuck reaches for the pan in Mark’s hand, but gets his hand slapped away by his boyfriend.

“No, let me do it. I can do it. Just believe in me.”

“Please just let me help you before you start a fire and kill us all.” Mark pouts at his boyfriend’s remark, but still lets the boy step forward, cooking was mentally draining after all.

The whole time Donghyuck was cooking Mark had his arms wrapped around his waist, leaning kisses on his neck and cheek from time to time, telling him how much he loved him and how happy he was that Donghyuck was there with him. When Mark’s parents arrive at the kitchen breakfast is ready all the four of them sit down at the small table and start eating.

“This is delicious! Who made this?” Mark’s sad questions the two boys, deep down knowing the answer.

“I did and Donghyuck helped a little.”

“Mark, baby, you’re my son. I love you, but I know you didn’t make this.” Everyone laughed at what Mark’s mother had said, leaving an embarrassed Mark looking down at his plate.

Donghyuck liked this, he now knows he really had no reason to be worried before. It didn’t matter where, if Mark was with him, he would always feel at home.
