It was that cheerful and smiley tone that literally anyone in Night Raven College could recognize.

"Oh, Floyd!" The Scarabia housewarden's voice's energy immediately went up upon hearing the teal haired merman. Well the energetic one of the twins.

He planted his iconic big toothy-smile, "How are you doi— Ack—! "

Before he could finish his greetings, he was brought into the tight hug of his taller friend.

"Sea otter!!" Floyd called out once again, still with his closed-eye grin.

The "sea otter" in question chuckled, "Hi Floyd. You seem more energetic than usual!"

How did he get his nickname from the merman anyway? He never knew the exact reason. Perhaps, because of his silver-white hair? Whatever the reason, he actually really likes his little title.

Many people would be surprised if someone told them that the Floyd Leech is clingy and actually enjoys talking to someone who isn't his twin brother Jade or his "boss" Azul.

Well the rumors are right and here's the person in question, completely real. Kalim Al-Asim. Who knew it was possible that NRC's ray of sunshine had managed to befriend Octavinelle's playful and dangerous merman? No one surely.

"I got a day off from Mostro Lounge today!" Floyd responded, clearly happy about the freedom from work.

"A day off? Something coming up in the lounge?" Kalim asked, tilting his head.

The taller boy shrugged, "Dunno, I'm thinking Azul's been planning something."

"But he's been talking really shady so I'm not even gonna bother to ask," he continued with disinterest. 

The cheerful housewarden let out a laugh at Floyd's usual bored tone, "What about Jade?"

"Probably going out with sea turtle or something.." The merman mumbled, somewhat annoyed with the fact that his brother didn't think to hang out with him first.

Sensing the mood drop from his friend, Kalim patted his head, "There, there."

"Hmm.. how about we go around the campus after class hours?" he suggested.

Hearing that, Floyd's expression lit up, "Yay~!"

The silver-white haired boy chuckled at him. It was nice having some else who was as energetic as him. People around him always say he's too full of energy. So, when this terrifyingly tall merman came into the scene, he liked this change very much.

It’s finally after school hours.

Kalim had been waiting for this for so long! He was looking so forward to it that he started jittering in his seat in class. Literally. He earned a raised brow from Professor Crewel today for that.

The problem was..he was so excited for the tour around campus with Floyd that he had come to their meetup place…thirty minutes early.

The housewarden sighed as he sat on the floor, leaning on a wall of the chambers of mirrors.

Now he regretted not listening to Jamil when he warned him to not rush. He wasn't paying attention when he was being lectured by the black haired boy.

Seriously, the Scarabia vice-dorm leader should be his mom at this point.

"Hm?Kalim?" The boy in question turned his head to the owner of the voice he just heard, to see the red-headed Heartslabyul housewarden. 

"What are you doing sitting on the floor here?"

"Oh, Riddle!" Kalim rubbed his own head with his hand out of embarrassment, "Well, haha..you see…"

"You what. "

Woah, Kalim wasn't expecting the red haired boy to be this mad about him being early..?

Seeing the surprise and confusion on the silver-white haired boy's face, Riddle shook his head, "Do you realize you have planned a day out with one of those devils?"

"E..eh?Devils..?" The Scarabia housewarden had a dumbfounded look on his face.

He was sure Floyd is a merman..well a moray eel, and certainly does not look like a demon. He had only seen his original form once but he was pretty sure.

Riddle face-palmed, looking like he knew exactly what Kalim was thinking about.

"No, I am not talking about his appearance."

"Oh!"

"Have you never heard NRC rumors and news or are you living under a rock?" The red haired dormleader messaged his own nose bridge.

"Welllll…"

"Okay, stop, that's enough for an answer," Riddle sighed while Kalim laughed nervously out of cluelessness.

"Hey you two! What a strange combination I never thought I would see today."

The two housewardens turned around to see Cater walking up to them.

"What're you gossiping about, hm?"

"We're not gossiping!" The Heartslabyul dormhead quickly replied.

"Aren't we technically gossiping about Flo—"

Before Kalim got to finish, he kept his mouth shut suddenly after seeing Riddle shaking his head and waving his hands 'stop'.

"Oooh?Floyd, ey?" Wow, the orange haired boy really caught up quick, like always.

"NO!" The red haired boy's face was starting to have the same color as his own hair.

"You say that but your face is getting a little red, hmmmmm?"

"Cater!"

"Okay, okay, I'll stop."

Riddle let out a tired sigh for the third time in this conversation today, "I'm just warning Kalim about Floyd because he's going on a tour around college with him."

"'Warning about Floyd'?"

"You know, about how he's.."

"Shady?"

"Yes, that."

Cater chuckled, "Alright mom, don't you worry that much!"

"If you want some info, you just have to call Cay-cay here. I know alll the juicy gossip in this school!" He did his iconic peace sign pose with a wink.

"I told you already, it's not gossip!"

The influencer student ignored Riddle's statement anyway as he seemed to be scrolling down something on his phone.

"Found it!" He bent down for the other two students to see his phone's screen because of the height differences.

"The OP posted this wayy back 6 months ago but, here!"

The post had a picture of a paper covered in some water droplets. The letters on it said 'No one gets away with an unpaid debt.' With the post's caption saying 'Oh no..' and a '#octavinellemyths' as a finishing touch.

"What does..this have to do with Floyd..?" Kalim asked with complete innocence.

"..." Cater had a dumbfounded look before shrugging at Riddle—who facepalmed one more time, and began to scroll on his phone again.

He was still showing his screen so the two housewardens saw Magicam posts posted by some other students they knew passed by.

The white-haired boy was pretty sure he saw a post of the Savanaclaw housewarden Leona getting a stack of papers thrown at him by Ruggie, who had a disappointed expression. (Cater snorted slightly at that.)

"Oh here! Found another one."

The two shorter boys squinted at the screen again.

The post's picture had a student sprinting, looking like his life was on the line while in the back, Floyd was happily skipping like he's in an amusement park as he chased that student. 

Octavinelle housewarden, Azul in the background seemed to be enjoying the show.

"Caption says 'someone annoyed the octavinelle dorm head'," The orange haired boy snickered, "Sucks for them."

"So Floyd is..like Jamil?" Kalim's eyes sparkled, "Like a bodyguard!"

".....Technically yeah," Cater nervously laughed.

He turned to Riddle, whispering to him, "No hope, boss man."

"B– boss man?" The red haired boy raised an eyebrow before sighing..again.

"Let's just..see how this goes." The other Heartslabyul student nodded.

"Oh? Goldfishie and Red Sea bream?"

Speak of the devil, the merman in question that the three were discussing had arrived at the meet-up place.

"Stop calling me by that nickname!" Riddle hid his face in his hands as Cater raised a brow at that, taking a sneaky quick photo. One going to his blackmail album, definitely.

"Ehh? But it's accurate, no?" Floyd gave his most innocent smile, "You're small and red."

"You—"

"Floyd!!"Before the red haired student could finish, Kalim tackle-hugged the tall student.

"Sea otter!" Floyd grinned, his sharp shark teeth looking very intimidatingly visible. As always, he didn't really give a fuck about how others around him would be horrified.

"You're early, huh?" The merman tilted his head at his shorter friend, "Did ya want to hang out with me that bad?"

Kalim giggled like a little kid who saw someone accidentally slip and fall, "Maybe!"

The taller one seemed to look..genuinely surprised at that statement but that look quickly disappeared anyway as he ruffled Kalim's hair and chuckled.

Suddenly, they heard the sound of a photo snap as that got them to turn back to the other two students near them.

Cater did a peace sign yet again, "Don't mind me~!"

"Cater, could you stop that. " Riddle scolded as the ginger gave a closed-eye smile and stuck out his tongue at him.

"Eh, it's boring just standing here, "Floyd did his pose of holding his shoulder with his hand, "Let's get going already, Little Sea otter."

Kalim nodded in excitement as he skipped away with the merman to a mirror portal. Before he followed Floyd in jumping into the portal, he waved goodbye to the two Heartslabyul students with a bright grin then disappeared.

"...What now?"

"Go back to work."

"Okay, okay mom!"

"M- mom—? "

Riddle sighed………..again as he watched Cater leave the Hall of Mirrors.

…

Who was he kidding? He actually really enjoyed the Octavinelle student's company even if he got annoyed from time to time.

What was he even worried about for the Scarabia housewarden..?
