"Oh, hey Remus." Shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit- "Hi mate. You alright?" Words Lupin. Say words.
"Alright lads?" God, thought Remus, since when did I start saying lads? "Yeah, great." James said, as he took a seat next to Remus, Sirius sitting opposite. "I didn't know Lily worked here."
Remus knew it was a lie. A massive lie. But his brain was far too focused on the god-like boy opposite him, who was now casually sipping on his iced latte. "Yeah she's worked here for a while now."
"You work over at Flourish and Blotts don't you?" asked Sirius.
Remus' heart thudded again his chest. How does he know that? Wait. Oh my god he remembers.
"Yeah that's right."
The three sat in comfortable silence. Remus, who had been peacefully reading, placed his bookmark in the book and put it on the table. He stared at Sirius for as long as he could before he got noticed. He noted that Sirius' eyes were grey and that he had such pretty eyelashes. There was a freckle on his right cheekbone and his jawline could probably cut Remus in half. He wouldn't mind. His analysis of Sirius' face got interrupted as Lily came flouncing over.
"Hiya guys." She took a seat next to Sirius. "Just thought I'd come and say hi, I'm on my break."
After twenty minutes of chatter, the conversation landed on the four of them agreeing that James should host a party at the weekend to celebrate the newly found friend group.
"We'd better go, I've got a class soon." James announced, standing up but keeping his eyes on Lily. She pretended not to notice.
"See you later." Sirius said, as him and James walked towards the door.
Lily waited for them to be a few paces out of the door before blurting out, "God, that man is gorgeous."
"Which one."
"Sirius obviously. He so fancies you."
"And what about James, hm?" Remus asked, raising his eyebrows.
"What about him"
"He's definitely into you."
"Well yeah, who wouldn't be."
"And you're definitely not into him?"
"Ew, god no. He's so-"
"Fit?"
Lily shot Remus a look that could well have sent him to an early grave. "Arrogant."
Remus snorted. "Sure." Lily rolled her eyes.
"On that note, I have to get back to work. See you later Re."
She blew a kiss over her shoulder as she floated away. Remus smiled to himself.
