Chapter Text
'Hey' = Toritsuka's thoughts
"Why" Saiki projecting
"Hello"= speaking aloud.
Pink.
What was up with that?
Pink never stood out much to Toritsuka, but for some reason, he couldn't get it out of his mind. Though, having a color stuck in his head wasn't as troublesome as the thing the color was attached to.
Well, he shouldn't say 'thing' because then, that 'thing' might seriously injure him. No, the problem was that the person it was attached to was occupying his mind more and more often. Saiki Kusuo, the seemingly all-knowing psychic, the one that threatened him with his life almost weekly (Maybe that was an exaggeration), was the same one who trotted into Toritsuka's unconscious yesterday, and plopped himself under him, replacing the chick his mind had supplied.
Now, he wasn't completely blameless, as the girl his mind had 'made' was remarkably similar to Saiki's female form, so really it wasn't that big of a jump to his male one. And to his abject horror, he got off just as much to that thought as the prior.
That realization led to the least productive morning he'd had in a while. Until about 1pm yesterday, he laid on his bed, staring at the ceiling thinking and muttering to himself. Okay, maybe his reaction was a bit much, but can you really blame him? Ask any of his friends (Or people he considers his friends), he's the most heterosexual guy there is.
That's not to say he's homophobic, but he just liked girls, that's all.
And that thought led to the next hour, which was spent on learning the wonders of bisexuality.
Okay, so. Turns out, he may not be the most heterosexual guy there is, as it turns out, most heterosexual guys don't fantasize and have near constant thoughts about their very male best friends. Nor do their eyes usually, you know... linger...
Anyways.
And, after a bit more searching, it seemed bi was the only label that quite fit him.
Okay. So it was 3pm, and he was bisexual.
Cool.
But why saiki of all people? The whole not being straight didn't affect him for as long as he anticipated, but now since he's found it out, He wants answers.
Yeah, Saiki is .... objectively attractive... With his pink (Again with pink!) hair, and his eyes, which turned out to be a stunning violet, and his mono-tone voice, and cold expression and how he secretly cares about his friends and goes out of his way for them, and how cute he is when he eats his coffee jelly-
Cute?
Huh, that was a new one.
But that's not the point. Toritsuka would like to believe he isn't so shallow as to only like him for his looks. Though, those last few things weren't exactly his physical appearance.
So, maybe this counts as a crush?
Okay, so, it's 4pm, and Toritsuka was bisexual and had a crush on his best friend.
Epic.
Except for the fact that Toritsuka had no clue if Saiki even liked him. Or guys. Or anyone. Was that even...?
Two google searches later,
Yep. What if Saiki was Aro/ace? Then what? Then he'd definitely have no chance!
But has having no chance ever stopped Toritsuka before? Of course not!
Well, it's not like he has no chance, he doesn't even know if he's Aro/ace yet.
Besides, Toritsuka saw how he acted around Satou, and it was highly suspect.
But Toritsuka had no time to worry about all of that, because somehow, the rest of the day slipped by, and he was in his classroom, today, Monday, wondering about Saiki's hair.
'Seriously, Hot pink? And why is it pretty?'
Toritsuka thought, stared at the board blankly. He'd honestly never found pink pretty before Saiki.
"Can you stop ranting about my hair color? It's distracting."
Toritsuka almost fell out of his seat when he heard the Saiki's voice so clearly. Right, they go to the same school.
'It's not my fault you keep snooping into my head.'
He shot back immediately, only brave because of the walls between them.
But he could feel saiki's deadpan.
"It's not my fault either you prick." Okay, ouch, "And i'd rather not hear about the shade of my hair or the color of my eyes for then next half-hour."
Had he really been thinking about that for half an hour?
'Don't you have a ring?' Toritsuka huffed internally, though he hoped Saiki wouldn't notice how-
"Why are you trying so hard to continue ranting?"
Damn it. But he will not lose this battle. It would be completely and totally unfair if Saiki had control over his dreams, daydreams, and his general thoughts. Even if Saiki wasn't necessarily aware of those first two.
So he crosses his arms and continues.
'Don't I have the right to think whatever I want to?'
"Not if it inconveniences me."
Toritsuka blanked at that. And the whining commenced.
'But Saikiiii! That's not fairrrrrr-'
"Oh my god stop. Thats worse." And that was probably the most exasperated Saiki had sounded in a while.
Was it bad that Toritsuka felt some sort of accomplishment about getting a reaction out of the usually stoic teen? Even if it was just annoyance.
'I can't even control what I'm thinking all the time. I didn't realize I'd been doing that!' Toritsuka huffed. He was still not going to lose this battle damnit!
Saiki actually went quiet for a second, just long enough for Torituka to decide he'd either won, or was going to be strangled later, in a not sexy way.
"So you were absent mindedly daydreaming about me? That's more concerning."
Shit. He hadn't expected Saiki the catch on so quickly. So he did what any normal person would do.
'Fine then. You know, Teruhashi was really pretty today, as usual, and i ran into Suzumiya esrilier too. Somehow we got drenched by a falling bucket, but she clinged to me so cutely. And-'
"Oh. my god. Shut. Up."
Well, it turns out Toritsuka's plan was stupid. Because Saiki seemed to be edging out of annoyed territory and began to Veer into just mad. And Toritsuka had seen him when he was a bit mad.
Pants shittingly terrifying is the only way he could describe it.
Best get back on his good side, even if his initial reaction doesn't really promote that.
'Yes sir. Crap uh... okay. Sorry Saiki, please don't eviscerate me. I forgot to look up what that meant after you said you would do it, but i'm pretty sure it's not pleasant.'
He could almost hear the sigh.
"Its not pleasant. So stop gushing, about anyone."
Toritsuka knew otherwise, but he decided to take that as the cute friendly (maybe more?) possessiveness.
"That's not it dumbass."
Toritsuka visibly flinched when the voice infiltrated his mind. His classmates were getting quite concerned at this point. They'd already lost most of their hope, and him seeming to have some sort of episode was not helping.
'Stop snooping!'
"Whatever, toritsuka, are you gay?"
