loving the magic in you

Summary:

Jeongyeon really has to do something about her crush.  Enters magic.

Work Text:

“Admit you have a crush on Mina and move on,” Jihyo tells Jeongyeon, annoyed by how the taller girl has been pestering her for the whole afternoon already.

“What? That’s what you get from everything I said?” Jeongyeon almost yells, pretending to be offended. She has been following Jihyo around the common room in pretense of asking advise on how to ‘improve her relationship’ with their classmates, saying graduation is just around the corner and school is all about making memories.

Jihyo glares at Jeongyeon, looks at her from head to toe. “Jeongyeon, you just literally told me you can’t get Mina off your mind,” Jihyo says blankly.

“And you think I have a crush on her?” Jeongyeon nervously laughs. “Huh. You’re reaching.”

Jihyo rolls her eyes. “I wish I could use at least one of the forbidden curses on you,” Jihyo tells her.

Jeongyeon only made a face. What the fuck is Jihyo saying? Her? Having a crush on Mina? Like she’d ever let herself suffer from liking someone above her status. Jeongyeon laughs. There’s only some level of pathetic she could wear.

--

Well, maybe she really is pathetic. Right now, the girl that has been plaguing her mind is sitting opposite her in the library. She failed three quizzes which prompted an intervention from Professor McGonagall before she gets kicked out from the team. Jeongyeon blames it on the games. Her mind has been focusing on the practices that she forgets about the class activities taking place. She can’t be slacking off in her final year! Gryffindor better bag that championship title for their team.

But of all the people who could be tasked to be her study buddy, Professor McGonagall just have to pair her up with Mina. She hates it. Not being paired with Mina, of course. She hates how Mina must be thinking how stupid she must be to fail three quizzes in different subjects. She is better than this! Why must she embarrass herself like this?

“I’m sorry for all of these, Mina” Jeongyeon nervously tells the Ravenclaw. “I honestly could do this on my own. I just got distracted with the games is all,” she reasons.

Mina stopped flipping the pages of her notes and gave Jeongyeon a quick smile. “Yeah, I could tell,” she says.

“Really? I mean, honestly I’m not really bad at all these acad stuff I just-” Jeongyeon stopped herself, realizes she is embarrassing herself more with what she is doing. “It’s the games,” she finished half-heartedly, thinks Mina will not believe her anyway.

“Yeah, I know,” Mina nods, smiling. “You won against our house last time. I could say you seem pretty aggressive with that last one,” Mina teases.

“Sorry about that,” Jeongyeon pouts, sad that Mina thinks she plays roughly.

“About what? Winning?” Mina laughs. “You did what you have to do,” Mina assures her.

“Yeah, we totally owned your house,” Jeongyeon gloats after assessing the situation, loving how she gets to tease Mina like this.

Mina rolls her eyes playfully. “And look what that got you,” Mina reminds, pointing about the situation at hand.

“Got me sitting opposite the prettiest girl in class,” Jeongyeon says confidently. She is not lying anyway.

If Jeongyeon saw it right, there was a tint of pink on Mina’s cheeks before Mina brushed her off with a face. “I’m still making you answer all these exercises,” Mina says. “Nope. Let me add some more,” she continues as she checks more part in Jeongyeon’s book.

Jeongyeon pouts. “You’re unfair.”

“Well, you did say I’m the prettiest girl in class,” Mina answers back with a sly smile. “Think I’m allowed to be unfair.”

--

Jeongyeon has it bad. She confirms this to herself at 3AM while her thoughts wonder back to a certain Ravenclaw. As though running in her mind for the whole day is not enough, Jeongyeon complains. She wonders though, really confused, what has she been focusing on all these years that she is only now seeing how wonderful Mina is. They have been friends, of course, in the past years. But it was never past the point of usual classmate-to-classmate, friends-to-friends interaction. They are not even from the same circle! She has been so used to Mina’s presence (they have been classmates for 7 years!) that it is a shame that she is only now realizing how absolutely amazing Mina is. She is pretty, kind, and smart. Not to mention, Mina always laughs at her jokes, Mina joins her in fooling around despite how reserved Mina seems to be and Mina has saved her ass way too many times from detention.

Jeongyeon changes position in her bed again, thinking about all their interactions for the past years. Mina and her are not really that close, she thinks. But Jeongyeon cannot say they are strangers either. They have fair amount interactions to say, should any of them get in trouble for wandering in the dark forest, one would not hesitate to cover for the other. After all, isn’t that what they did after both of them got involved in that one cursed potions experiment? Jeongyeon laughs to herself. She could only flinch at how both her and Mina avoided detention by withholding facts about what they really put in that cauldron. It will remain a secret.

Them covering for the other started three years ago when Jeongyeon found Mina sleeping in the Room of Requirements when Mina told the professors she is down with the flu. Mina, being the Ravenclaw that she is, easily figured out that Jeongyeon must have been skipping class too. Why else would she be there? In the end, Jeongyeon had no choice but tell Mina that she learnt of the said room after she find herself looking for some muggle items to add to her collection. Mina, on the other hand, shared that she just doesn’t feel like going to class. Something about Mina reaching her maximum social interactions for the week, Jeongyeon recalls. She smiles at the memory and at how they have still been meeting up at the Room of Requirements to do the same mundane things until now.

And now Jeongyeon is back to thinking about how she sees Mina lately. There’s just this glow that surrounds her, like Jeongyeon could literally feel Mina blinding her. Everything about Mina, from the way she laughs, the way she makes those tiny cute sounds, the way she walks, and god, her gummy smile—everything just draws Jeongyeon in. How has she been missing out on all these for the past six years? Why is she realizing this now? Why is she feeling all these now? She only has three months to go before graduation. She doesn’t have enough time. And Mina? Mina’s been so immensely popular (how has Jeongyeon not noticed that, too!) that Jeongyeon doubts Mina could even spare a different glance on her, an average student who plays rough on a game called Quidditch, over the crowd of other popular kids pining on her. Jeongyeon frowns. She did not sleep that night.

--

“Are you sure about this?” Dahyun asks her for the nth time.

Jeongyeon asked Dahyun and Chaeyoung to help her secure a bottle of the Weasley’s love potion. Dahyun and Chaeyoung are notorious for smuggling anything forbidden inside the campus after all. Of course, it comes with a hefty price.

“You do know this is not gonna make Mina fall in love with you, right?” Chaeyoung reminds, still keeping the bottle near her chest. “That it’s just going to make her infatuated with you at best?”

Jeongyeon swallows. “Y-yeah. Just hand it to me.”

“Just making sure you know. Terms and conditions, yeah? We don’t do refunds if this fails, by the way. Store policy,” Chaeyoung warns lightly.

After receiving the payment, counting it to make sure Jeongyeon’s not playing her, Dahyun looked at Jeongyeon again. “Seriously, Mina’s too smart to not get you’ll be playing her like this.”

Jeongyeon puts the potion in her pocket. “Privacy policy. Keep your mouths shut or I’ll snitch on you two.”

“Hey. No need to be hostile. Keep that attitude in the games,” Dahyun tries to downplay the situation, brushing the non-existent dust on Jeongyeon’s shoulder.

“Good luck on the girl. If this fails, you can always count on us to find something else,” Chaeyoung assures, winking before she pulled Dahyun away from Jeongyeon.

“Or someone else!” Dahyun tries to add but Chaeyoung shut her up by dragging her.

Jeongyeon watched them walk away. She put a hand in her pocket, feeling the liquid in a small vial. Could she really do this? She plays rough but she plays fair. If she used this, would it not be cheating?

Just in case, Jeongyeon tells herself. She will keep it with her only just in case.

--

It’s the final match of the year and the Gryffindors are up against the Slytherins for the Quidditch championship. Jeongyeon hasn’t been sleeping well lately, thinking of how she might fail as a keeper and injure her friends prior their graduation.

“Good luck, Jeongyeon,” Mina tells her before she joins her teammates. All her other friends had already wished her luck and has now left to cheer on Nayeon who is playing keeper for the other team.

“Yeah? Nayeon’s definitely going to knock me out first things first,” Jeongyeon shares her worries.

“Silly,” Mina says. “Nayeon couldn’t even if she wanted. You’re a lot better flyer than her.”

“Is that a compliment?” Jeongyeon smiles before pursing her lips. “Thanks for staying.”

“Don’t be so dramatic.” Mina giggles. “I’ve just gone to Nayeon earlier which is why I could stay with you.”

They were left standing together in comfortable silence until Nayoung called Jeongyeon. The game is to start in 30 minutes.

“They’re looking for you,” Mina tells. “Break a leg!” she cheers.

“God, I hope not.” Jeongyeon whines.

“Good luck.” Mina leans in and gave Jeongyeon a quick peck on her right cheek.

Before Jeongyeon could form a response, Mina has quickly trodden away, leaving a dazed Jeongyeon smiling to herself. She definitely has to ask Mina out.

--

“Who are you taking to the ball?” Mina asks her excitedly, putting down her book on the table. “I can’t believe it. We’re actually graduating soon!”

Jeongyeon couldn’t answer Mina’s question anymore. Jeongyeon had wanted to say ‘hopefully, you’ but Mina moved on quickly. “Yeah, you’re right. We’re graduating.”

“Why the sad face, Yoo?” Mina asks. “Worried you won’t get to see my pretty face anymore?” she jokes, elbowing Jeongyeon’s side.

“Once,” Jeongyeon tells. “I called you the prettiest once and now you can’t stop rubbing it on my face,” she complains loosely.

“And you’re still not taking it back,” Mina retorts. “Anyway, the ball’s in two days. Who are you taking?”

“I still haven’t asked her,” Jeongyeon confesses.

“Oh,” Mina says quickly, looking away. “Yeah, of course. I mean, if nobody had asked them yet,” Mina adds mockingly.

The Great Hall was still fairly empty when Mina arrived. Jeongyeon, in her defense, has been in the hall trying to pluck up the courage to ask Mina out for their graduation ball. However, if the situation could not explain it any better, Jeongyeon has not made any progress on that yet. It’s not like she hasn’t heard about all the other invitations Mina had received. But still Jeongyeon hopes she could ask Mina first before Mina decides who, among all of them, she would go to the ball with.

Mina and Jeongyeon sat in silence again once Mina picked her book to go back to reading. Jeongyeon convinces herself that she will ask Mina about the ball. It’s now or never. She took a deep breath and looked around.

However, Jeongyeon started to panic as soon as she saw Wendy enter the hall. Flashback to when Dahyun pulled her in one of the cupboards to extort some money off her five days ago. Dahyun warned her about the situation, about how Wendy purchased the same love potion from them. Dahyun, professing her loyalty (after extorting some few dollars from her for an information that would lead to winning Mina’s heart) informed Jeongyeon whom Wendy intends to use the potion on. Of course, it’s Mina. Wendy is now walking towards them with a cup in her hand, eyes directed at Mina. A hundred meter more and Wendy would reach them where they are. Hurriedly, Jeongyeon pulls the muggle drink she had filled with the love potion from her bag. There’s no time to think.

Jeongyeon checks again, saw Wendy merely fifty meters away from them.

“You might choke,” Jeongyeon says casually, offering the potion-filled muggle drink to Mina. Jeongyeon likes muggle stuff and Mina’s not a stranger to that. Still, Mina looks at Jeongyeon confused.

“Choke on what? I’m just reading,” Mina tells her, narrowing her eyes at Jeongyeon. Jeongyeon felt her heart drop. She can’t possibly argue with Mina on why she should drink the bottle she’s offering. It would be too suspicious. Jeongyeon just kept looking at Mina expectantly until finally, Mina took the bottle. “But sure. I could use some drink. Thank you.”

Jeongyeon watches Mina drink from the bottle, guilt suddenly pooling in her heart. This potion doesn’t work anyway, right?

“Mina, would you go to the ball with me?” she asked as soon as Mina put the bottle down. She felt her heart drop when Mina was left looking at her like she is a ghost. For good ten seconds, Mina was just there, staring back at her. Really, the potion doesn’t work. Jeongyeon sighs in relief.

“It’s okay. You can say no, I just-”

“Jeongyeon,” Mina says suddenly, smile breaking out her lips. “I would love to!” Mina declares, pulling Jeongyeon into a hug.

Jeongyeon, still shocked and with her heart pounding like crazy, returns Mina’s hug. “Wow. I can’t believe I’m taking you to the ball,” Jeongyeon whispers. Half-truth because she didn’t know the potion will work and half-lie because is it not that the point of her purchase?

“You’re the only one I’d want to go with,” Mina whispers back.

Jeongyeon saw Wendy at the corner of her eye, walking away with a frown on her face after seeing the situation. Suddenly, she can breathe easy. It’s happening. She is taking the Myoui Mina to the ball!

“You’re so cute, did you know that?” Mina tells her, poking her nose lightly. Jeongyeon blushed at the compliment.

“I feel different,” Mina suddenly says, placing a hand on her chest. Jeongyeon almost chokes on nothing. “Maybe because I’m just really happy,” Mina brushes off, taking Jeongyeon’s hand with a smile.

Jeongyeon smiles back. Now what the hell is she going to do?

--

“Heard some lucky Gryffindor Keeper is taking Mina to the graduation ball,” Dahyun starts teasing with a smirk on her face.

“And look, it’s another satisfied customer of DubChaeng Shop,” Chaeyoung adds, her hands in her pocket, blowing a bubble with her muggle gum.

“I really think you should at least add an anonymous review for our business,” Dahyun says. “It’d be a good PR for us.”

“Please, let it go,” Jeongyeon requests, walking past the duo.

“Anyway, we’re just here for this.” Dahyun shoves a card in Jeongyeon’s hand. “Flowers, cakes, corsage, setting up all those cheesy surprises…” Dahyun animates with her fingers playing piano in the air. “Anything you’d need for the ball, we have it. You know where to find us.” Dahyun winks at Jeongyeon before leaving with Chaeyoung, handling out their cards to other people they walk past by.

Jeongyeon’s left looking at their card once more. She kept the card in her pocket. Nope. She can do this herself.

--

“Jeongyeon!” Mina calls her loud at the hallway, hurrying towards her.

“Mina!” Jeongyeon smiles and froze when Mina linked their arms together. “You look excited. Is there anything?”

“Do I?” Mina wonders. “I don’t know I just really feel this extra energy ever since yesterday. Like I’ve been bewitched or something,” Mina jokes. Jeongyeon bit her lip at that. “God. I hope I don’t annoy you or anything? You’re still taking me to the ball, right?” Mina says almost without breathing, hint of worry in her voice.

“Yeah, of course,” Jeongyeon assures. “Who else would I go with?” Jeongyeon feels her chest tightens as she answers. She suddenly wants to confess about what she did. She hasn’t slept at all last night!

“I wonder how it is like to have a Jeongyeon as a date.” Mina looks at her questionably. “You’d treat me well, won’t you?”

“I promise.”

That much, Jeongyeon’s sure.

--

“You’re with Mina tonight, huh?” Nayeon starts after finding Jeongyeon struggling to walk in heels.

“Shut up,” Jeongyeon says harshly.

“Knew you’ve been crushing on her since forever,” Nayeon continues. “How come you only asked her out now?”

“I have not been crushing on her since forever,” Jeongyeon corrects. “Just recently,” she barely added.

“Recently.” Nayeon laughs. “You mean you only admitted it recently.”

“What do you know?” Jeongyeon scoffs. “Get off my back. I’m waiting for my date.”

Just then, Jihyo arrived within their sight. She’s sporting a new pink hair, just a light shade. Some temporary charm, Jeongyeon supposes. Her violet dress looking good on her, too.

“Please don’t tell me you guys are fighting again,” Jihyo complains, situating herself beside Nayeon, her date for tonight.

“We’re not. Don’t worry,” Nayeon assures her. Nayeon wraps the flower bracelet she has with her on Jihyo’s wrist and Jihyo did the same for her.

“You look lovely as always,” Nayeon tells her date.

“And you, too.” Jihyo and Nayeon shared a quick peck.

“Really? Right in front of me?” Jeongyeon deadpans. She still couldn’t believe how her two best friends got together like this.

“Jealous, aren’t you?” Jihyo laughs. “Who knows? Maybe you’d get to kiss Mina tonight.” Jihyo finally says before pulling Nayeon towards the hall.

Jeongyeon felt her heart throbbed. Her and Mina? Kissing? She’s about to lose her mind.

“Penny for your thoughts?”

Jeongyeon almost jumped at the sudden conversation. Turning her head, she saw Mina’s face barely away from her. Startled, she pulled away.

“Wow,” Jeongyeon says after collecting herself. Mina’s right here beside her now, wearing her new blonde hair. Her white dress did not help the awestruck Jeongyeon either. Jeongyeon swears Mina is glowing. Jeongyeon struggles hard not to stutter. “You look so good right now.”

Mina bit her lip. “And so do you,” she replies.

Jeongyeon can’t help but be conscious of herself. While Mina’s dress reveals almost her entire back and hugging the curve of her body, Jeongyeon’s black dress covered her whole arms with the cut above her knees showing off her legs. Somehow, she feels so inferior despite her complementing Mina’s look tonight.

“You look stunning, really. I don’t know what to say,” Jeongyeon says nervously. Mina didn’t pay her attention but bended forward and picked her right hand.

“Yeah? Well, I’m glad you think so. Otherwise, all this would be a waste.” Mina grins. Carefully placing the flower in the middle, Mina successfully tied the rose bracelet on Jeongyeon’s hand. “You look absolutely gorgeous, too, you know?”

Before Jeongyeon forgets, she took Mina’s hand as well and placed the similar rose bracelet on. After tying the knot of the bracelet, Jeongyeon felt a little bold and pulled Mina’s hand to her lips, placing a soft chaste kiss on Mina’s knuckles. When she looked at Mina, she saw a visible blush on her cheeks. Jeongyeon grins.

“I promised you I’d treat you well tonight, after all.”

“Yoo Jeongyeon, a woman of her words.”

Mina took Jeongyeon’s hand as they make their way towards the hall together, turning heads as they walk. Of course. It’s not every day that the Myoui Mina, striking as she is, would go around dressed like an absolute goddess for everyone to see. Jeongyeon unconsciously tightened her hold on Mina’s hand, feeling a little possessive of the girl. Mina looks back at her.

“I’m your date tonight, Jeongyeon,” Mina tells her softly. “Yours would be the only hands I will hold like this.”

Jeongyeon blushed at that, embarrassed with how she comes off to Mina. “I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay.” Mina beams. “Now, are you going to take those new heels to the dance floor or what?”

“Oh, Mina,” Jeongyeon says, placing her hand tentatively on Mina’s waist. “I’d love to dance the night away with you.”

“Cheese,” Mina replies, starting to move with Jeongyeon.

They spent the first half of the night dancing to slow songs talking about all the times they have spent in school. Of course, the potions experiment was talked about which allowed Jeongyeon to watch Mina giggle only inches away from her. She feels privileged.

Jeongyeon could barely allow her other friends to dance with Mina if it weren’t for Jeongyeon wanting to dance with her friends as well. She wanted to be selfish but she couldn’t. They’re graduating after all. It’s the last time. However, the constant teasing from their other classmates didn’t help Jeongyeon’s reminiscing. Sure, she really is with a hot date but it is not like she and Mina weren’t friends before! Why are they acting like they are a pair born out of nowhere?

And now Mina’s back to dancing with her again. Finally, Jeongyeon would like to say. Mina is her date and she should be a little selfish, she tells herself.

“Hope the other girls didn’t tire you with all the teasing.”

“What do you mean?” Mina tilts her head in confusion. “None of them teased me. Wait. Were they teasing you? Was that all the chuckles are about?” Mina asks, now chuckling as well. Jeongyeon pouted and nods. “Poor Jeongie.” Mina pouts back cutely, pinching Jeongyeon’s cheek playfully. “Getting teased for going to the ball with me.”

Jeongyeon rolls her eyes. “I don’t mind, really. They can tease me forever for all I care,” Jeongyeon declares confidently. “I have you, the Myoui Mina, as a date. Of course, there will be complaints.”

“You’re impossible.” Mina lightly hits Jeongyeon’s shoulder, her face flushed.

--

The second-half of the night has come and the mood has changed from sentimental to party. Of course, DubChaeng Shop managed to smuggle in some intoxicating drinks for the seniors. Again. It’s a talent at this point. The hall is getting loud and some juniors have managed to make their way in. Everything is going crazy. The hall is now packed with students and the professors cannot seem to control the mess.

“It’s so loud in here!” Mina shouts at Jeongyeon just so the other girl could her hear. The situation escalated very fast and it is thanks to that infamous duo’s doings.

Before Mina could say another word, Jeongyeon has pulled her hand, dragging her outside the hall. Mina shakes her head but joins Jeongyeon nonetheless.

“Where are we going?” Mina asks but Jeongyeon couldn’t answer as they try and avoid the rush of people trying to crash the graduation ball.

Jeongyeon managed to drag her in one of the gardens inside the Hogwarts campus. Tonight, all the flowers have bloomed, glistening beautifully with how the moonlight hits their petals.

“What’s all this for?” Mina asks, looking around the empty space.

“It’s a mess in there,” Jeongyeon answers. They stood in quiet before they silently agreed to walk around the small garden. Jeongyeon didn’t think of a plan after this one. Stupid, she knows.

“It’s the first time we’ve been alone like this,” Mina says suddenly, awkwardly, making Jeongyeon turn towards her. “I mean, of course we’ve been alone alone before. In the Room of Requirements, yeah? But just,” Mina pauses. “Not like this. Not you as my date.” Mina presses her lips together in a line.

“Y-yeah,” Jeongyeon stutters. “Didn’t know this place looks nice at night.” Jeongyeon looks around, trying to look at everywhere but Mina.

“Jeongyeon,” Mina calls softly, reaching Jeongyeon’s hand. Jeongyeon felt her heart skip a beat, seeing the look on Mina’s eyes. This can’t be it. Mina’s not hinting a kiss, is she? But Mina only moved closer to Jeongyeon, so close that they are sharing a single breath. Mina is definitely about to kiss her.

Jeongyeon wanted this. She knows she does. The way Mina looks so damn beautiful that Jeongyeon has been holding herself back the whole evening tells how much she wants this to happen. It took her so long to realize it but now Jeongyeon’s sure. She likes Mina. So much. That it would be a sin for her to continue this without telling Mina the truth. She must confess.

“I’m sorry, Mina,” Jeongyeon almost cried. “I can’t do this. I’m sorry,” she apologizes as she pulls back. “I’m a fraud. You don’t deserve this.”

Mina was visibly lost at Jeongyeon’s words. “Did you not want this? Did I read everything wrong?” Mina says calmly, searching Jeongyeon’s eyes.

“No, I-” Jeongyeon tries to avoid Mina’s gaze. “You don’t have feelings for me, Mina. You don’t like me.”

“What are you saying? I do, Jeongyeon. I like you. I like you a lot,” Mina confesses, pressing Jeongyeon’s hand.

“It’s just a potion.” Jeongyeon couldn’t help the tears from escaping her eyes. “I put Weasley’s love potion on your drink which is why you think you like me but you don’t. I’m sorry for ruining our friendship.”

“Oh,” Mina says, her expression dropping. “Potion, huh?” Mina nods, smiling bitterly as she pulls away from Jeongyeon. “When?”

Jeongyeon looked up, saw Mina asking for an explanation. “Two days ago, I put it in that muggle drink before I asked you to go with me to the ball. I didn’t think you’d say yes if I had just asked you plainly but thinking now, I wish I did. I’d rather you reject me than you looking disappointed as you are right now. I’m really sorry,” Jeongyeon babbles. Jeongyeon feels so little. How could she have done that to Mina?

“No wonder I’ve been feeling extra bold around you since,” Mina starts saying, sulking. “I mean, I normally would never link arms with you immediately after seeing you. And you?” Mina glares at Jeongyeon. “You’ve been looking even more attractive to me now that I can’t help myself but want to kiss you.”

Jeongyeon was about to say sorry again but paused as her brain processed Mina’s words. “Wait. Even more attractive? You find me attractive before?”

Mina rolls her eyes exasperatingly. “I’ve been in love with you for two years, Jeongyeon. You’re so dense!” Mina laughs, putting her hands around Jeongyeon’s neck.

“Wait? Two years?” Jeongyeon couldn’t believe what is happening. What the hell is happening? Why is Mina around her neck?

“Maybe it’s the potion but I still find you really cute looking puzzled like this.” Mina giggles while Jeongyeon just kept the same confused look. “Yup, definitely the potion,” Mina confirms to herself.

“How could I have not known?” Jeongyeon still won’t let the revelation go. “Two years?”

“Because you’re an idiot,” Mina says, looking mad. “You’re an idiot who still won’t kiss me even after I’ve thrown myself like this at you,” Mina added, slowly pulling her hands away from Jeongyeon’s shoulder.

“Hold on,” Jeongyeon says, catching Mina’s arms just on time, placing them around her neck once again.

Mina smiles before nervously closing her eyes. Jeongyeon leans in. They share their first kiss.

Mina pulled away, sighing. “But potion, really? That’s lame of you, Jeongyeon. A cheat, I should say.” Mina gives Jeongyeon a judging look.

Jeongyeon pulls Mina closer by the waist. “Stop fixating on that, Ms. Two Years.”

Jeongyeon leans in for another kiss but this time none of them pulls away. Instead, both of them leans in even further, deepening the kiss, showing each other how much they’ve waited for this to happen. Jeongyeon sneaks her hand towards Mina’s cheeks, holding her in place to kiss her better, biting on Mina’s lower lip. Mina, on the other hand, carefully places her hands on Jeongyeon’s nape, not backing down either with her tongue tracing Jeongyeon’s lip. After all, she has waited two years for this.

Mina finally pulls away, feels the need to fill her lungs with air, but still keeping her hands on Jeongyeon’s shoulder.

“That’s a lot to take,” Mina says, heaving with a smile while feeling the pounding in her chest. “Years of practice?” she accuses with a playful glare.

“Let’s just say I’m a natural,” Jeongyeon says in her defense, her signature lopsided grin on her face.

Mina stares at Jeongyeon, her fingers now tracing Jeongyeon’s jaw. “I think it’s the potion,” she starts. “But I still really wanna kiss you right now,” Mina says boldly, her face now crimson pink, avoiding the eyes of the object of her affection.

“I think it’s the two years of pining,” Jeongyeon teases which earned her another slap on her shoulder from Mina.

“Shut up!” Mina whines.

“Yeah.” Jeongyeon leans in and gave Mina a quick peck. “I really don’t mind kissing you the whole night anyway.” And another kiss.
