Work Text:
They were in Josie's bedroom the room was almost empty, everything was packed and ready to be delivered to Josie's college room.
But she couldn't leave. No, not yet.
She had to say goodbye to Hope.
They've been dating for a few years now but they weren't sure about the long distance thing.
They were sitting on Josie's bed foreheads connected, tears all over the place.
"I can't- I'm not ready to walk away." Josie was sobbing looking into Hope's teary eyes.
"it's okay Jo, I'm gonna be right there beside when you graduate. however long it takes Jo-" Hope promised between tears and sobs, she herself wasn't ready to let go of the Brunette witch.
But they had to.
Josie leaned into Hope's touch, as Hope held Josie. cupping her cheeks smiling at Josie with that same look they shared years ago right there when Hope confessed to Josie that she misses her the day Josie wanted Hope to stay. The day they shared their first kiss.
"I love you Josie saltzman." Hope said.
"And I love you too more than anything Hope Mikaelson." Josie replied as they leaned in to a heart warming kiss.
They didn't know how long it'll be until they have another chance to do it so they gave that kiss their everything.
Until it was time Josie's phone rang, She needed to be on the roads already if she wanted to be there in time for her first day of college.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There it was the last day of college.
Josie has already started clearing her room packages all over the place, it reminded her of exactly five years ago only it was in a different place and a very important person she had there to share that moment with her.
She grabbed some of her stuff so she could get going already. She couldn't wait to get home.
Bags and packages in hands Josie saltzman made her way out of college.
Until she heard a familiar voice. One that she has missed so much.
"Looking for a ride?" the voice said.
Josie turned around as fast as possible without dropping any of her stuff but there she was in all her glory.
Hope Mikaelson.
Hope was there standing, leaning on her sports car. what a show off, she thought and said, "Hope.. you waited," with a hint of surprise in her voice.
Hope simply answered, "i said however long it takes, didn't i love?"
Josie set down on the ground her things as fast as she could.
She ran to Hope's hands so fast and the tribrid caught her. She held Josie tightly the auburn wasn't ready to let her go ever again. well not for that long at least.
As Hope was setting Josie on the ground she could see those happy tears streaming down Josie's face.
And then Hope said, "Gosh I missed you so much. I don't wanna leave your side ever again." while saying that Hope took Josie in her hands cupping the witch's cheeks, It always comforted her.
She remembered how her dad and her mom used to do it to her too.
Hope was caressing the brunette's cheek with her thumb taking away all the tears so she could see that happy beautiful face of Josie Saltzman that she missed so much.
Josie was giggling and looking at the floor with this little adorable smile. Hope missed that so much, just seeing that smile brightened her day.
She looked at Josie's lips craving to feel them again, it's been so long since she felt the sweet sensation of connecting her lips with Josie's.
And Josie knew the tribrid too well, the second they locked eyes Josie already leaned in.
She waited for this too for so long.
And it happened.
Her lips were soft, almost silken, and pillowy against my own. I could feel the soft tickle of her breath beneath my nose, fingers carding through her hair as we breathed each other in.
"Gosh I missed this. I missed us." Hope said as they parted slightly for air.
"Well there's nothing to miss anymore Hope Mikaelson, I'm right here, we're right here, together. not going anywhere." Josie replied.
Then silence simple stares of love exchanged between the two.
Until Hope broke that silence saying, "well then why don't we get your things and you on my carriage m'lady so we could finally be home. together."
And in a matter of a few minutes that's what happened. They got everything loaded to Hope's car barely any free space left there.
Hope opened the passenger door for Josie like the gentleman that she is.
And so she then got into the car herself, sharing one more sweet kiss with Josie before buckling up and driving towards their future that was full of so many options and adventures.
