Work Text:
"You visited him here before?"
Sersi just looks past him, "No. Never. But you, me, and everybody know he will stay here."
Yeah. True. Ikaris agreed silently. This forest is the last place they lived together, hundred years prior. 500 years ago, Druig is the first Eternals member who decided to break free and pursue his own purposes. And now, Sersi suggested that they better be reunited, to be one and work together again. It's a better chance against Tiamut. And Ikaris was the first one to against that idea. For him, Druig is the most egoistic little shit among them, the culprit that split them up 500 years ago.
Sprite walks around, then talks to someone asking for Druig. The man looks at her in confusion, "How do you know Druig?"
Sprite shrugged, "We're friends, at college." funny thing is, Sprite is not even sure these people know what college is.
No one welcomes them, but nor also seems to mind them walking around the village. Not even the guy that just talk to Sprite a second ago. As if not remembering Sprite that just spoke to him, he goes back to his work and moves very diligently.
There is no sign of Druig but the way that man mentions his name, Sprite knows her brother is here.
"You sure he is here?" Ikaris getting impatient.
"I know, let's look for him." Sersi walk around confidently, looking right and left hoping Druig might show up out of nowhere.
"Hiding behind the humans really sounds like Druig. Yeah, sure, Sersi. He is here." Kingo snickered, also walks around, with Karun trail after him and camera in hand.
Ikaris walk closely to a high door, in front of the only building that seems to be built over brick and mortar among the other wooden houses. He is not sure what or why, but he can almost feel the uncanny pressure on the air the closer he walk to the door.
His voice sounds so sure when he said, "He is inside here." the man almost hold the handle and open the door when it opens, and a middle-age female human came out from there, holding the door and closing it behind her. She looks calm and stares straight into Ikaris's eyes.
"Druig is occupied for a while. Please have a look around first." the woman tried to lead Ikaris away from there, but Ikaris stop her and look down, straight to her eyes.
"I know it's you Druig. What scares you to hide so long in there? Freaking out to see me? Come out now, cousin."
The woman stammered the calmness she had shown just now gone and replace with a very confused face. "U-uh, he just said that... that you should wait. He needs an hour to prepare something. So please wait, do you want anything to drink?"
"An hour?!" Ikaris gritted his teeth, pissed off. "I have no time for your games, Druig."
Ikaris pushed through her and the other two men that tried to hold him. Not even the whole village can stop him from going forward when he wanted to.
"Something wrong, lad?" Kingo asked him nervously from behind. The commotion coming from three humans struggling to stop Ikaris and Ikaris trying to hold back his power while also still trying to push through, makes the other Eternals gather close to the building.
Thena sensing the air, realizing something feels off before saying, "He is inside."
"Sir, please don't—"
Ikaris make sure he didn't push the humans too hard, but it's enough to make them fall behind. He slammed the door, opening a wide one-room that resembled a bedroom. There is warm air pushing out from the door and lavender scent emanating from inside. The room is so big, Ikaris need to squint under the twilight.
A petite woman that seems eerily familiar, laying on a wide bed, leaning on the piles of pillows that support her back. Her dark shoulder-length hair was messy with sweat, wet strands of hairs covering her forehead and left eyes. But a pair of gentle hands help her, rub over her face, clean up the sweat and offer a glass of water above her lips.
"You want more water, mam?"
"No," the woman refuses and whines, struggling in pain. She holds onto her big bloated belly and tries so hard to hold her groan. "I don't need water, but I need to kill Adam if he's not showing up in 5 minutes."
Ikaris almost lose it, the woman whispered really softly, her soft inaudible voice being new to him. But the way she speaks, the way she twists right and left in pain while catching her breath, reminds him of someone.
There are three, four, midwives who work around the room. Bringing towel and basin filled with water. And a middle-aged woman working between her legs, which spread so wide and covered in a blanket.
Ikaris agape.
"Druig?" he asks in hesitant.
The woman stares back at him, looks angry. Her face is wet with sweat and scrunches in pain, "I told you to wait, am I? What a rude guest."
