Peace, something Pieck would often forget existed, sometimes she even thought it was unobtainable, yet here she laid in a soft bed staring at the beams of sunshine that poured in from the window. Next to her was a sleeping Porco whose arms were tight around her waist, his light breathing against her shoulder tickled but it was also soothing, like an anchor that kept her grounded.
They were set up in a room at a local inn of Shiganshina, awaiting the arrival of Marley’s forces, Pieck tried her best not to worry about the mission but her mind wouldn’t rest. Every possible outcome, anything that could go wrong, the smallest misplaced detail, she thought of it all. The only thing that eased her mind was knowing Magath and the others were on their way, that her comrades were coming to help.
“You’re getting that look again,” Porco’s sleepy voice filled her ears, “don’t worry so much, you’ll give yourself a headache,”.
Pieck swore she could feel one coming on, she appreciated his words, it’s what he did as of lately. Calming her mind, helping her settle, always knowing what to say to keep the pressure off her. Even as kids it was what he did best, she grew to cherish it as they got older, not knowing how much help it’d actually be until now.
“Haha you always know what to say Pock,” she turned in arms to face him, “what would I do without you?”
"Probably overthink until your head exploded," a sleepy grin grew on his face, "surprised you haven't already,".
Pieck ran her fingers through his hair, "I have you to thank for that," and placed a kiss on his forehead.
When was the last time we were like this, she wondered. She remembered a few moments, but there was indeed a favorite, after the battle at Fort Slava. So glad to see him again, to be with him again after so long, before everything turned to shit. It was a moment of respite, something they had desperately needed then and what they both wanted now.
Without thinking Pieck placed another kiss on his forehead, another on his nose, and then finally his lips. Its desperation was masked by a sweet intent, one Porco easily saw through. With his arms still around her he pulled her on top of him, legs settled on either of his sides to straddle him.
"Pieck," he groaned against her lips as she slid his already hard cock in her, gasping out at his sudden thrust. Just as desperate as she was, wasting no time in fucking her, in holding her tighter as they kissed.
"Please," she breathed out as she ground against him, don't stop .
If she could spend an eternity in his arms she would, held tight, pressed against him, not a care in the world on her mind. Nothing but the feeling of strong muscle under her hands, against her skin, and grazing her lips. Like nothing could harm her, like even the mere idea of danger didn't exist, as long she had him to hold her, she'd be okay.
They had countless moments like this, when she could let her guard down, and oh how she cherished them. Their first date, their first kiss, she remembered each time he'd simply pull her into a hug and felt every fear she had melt away. She only hoped that after this they could have many more of them.
Now laid spent and covered in sweat, they held each other once more coming down from their high. Porco cradled her in his arms, fingers coming her hair while she placed soft kisses on his chest. Oh how he loved that feeling, like she kissed every stress he had away, keeping him centered. He wished he could live that feeling a little longer, but the gravity of their situation pulled him back to reality.
"We should get ready," he peered down at her, just barely catching the sight of her frown.
Her hands held onto his arms, "Can we just stay a little longer?" Her head nuzzled against his chest and it only made him ache. Of course, he'd give everything just to lay there with her forever, but now wasn't the time for lofty fantasies, getting caught up in them would only make it hurt more.
"You know we can't," he simply stated. He could feel her disappointment when she shifted on him, looking up to meet his eyes with a somber look, she's tired . So was he, all the more reason he wanted to get things over with it, delaying any further would drive them to pure exhaustion.
A kiss to the bottom of his chin, "Alright Pock," and another on his lips as Pieck let out a heavy sigh.
Once up from the bed, they hurried themselves in getting dressed, Porco always looking back at her to see if she was okay. For the most part she was, he however felt like his nerves were on fire.
His body tensed when he put his clothes on, his hand trembled when he tied his boots, even more so when he worked on his bolo tie.
I'm so fucking scared
He remembered the moments when he felt fear like this; his first time in battle, the day he got his titan, when Pieck fell in Liberio, and many more. He hated the feeling, so much that it'd quickly turn to frustration and anger, pushing him to a point where he couldn't focus. It was like a thorn in his side, whether he picked at it or ignored it, it would only make it worse.
"God damnit," he spoke through gritted teeth, still struggling with his tie almost ready to tear the damn thing apart. A pair of hands rested on his and he found Pieck giving him a gentle look. She took over and did his tie for him, allowing him to get ahold himself.
He knew she could see just how scared he was, knew she was trying her best to keep him leveled, and he knew she was just as afraid too.
"There," she finished the final knot and tightend it, her hands brushed his collar before resting on his chest, again allowing Porco to relax a bit. Taking hold of her hands he brought them to his lips, a series of kisses were placed along her knuckles, thankful that they ever graced him. Pieck brushed her thumbs along his chin, her way of telling him, it'll be okay, the reassurance he needed.
Will it though?
Now outside behind the inn they were parting ways, better to throw off suspicion if they were apart. It wasn't the first time they separated, the time Pieck went off to Paradis with Zeke left both equally a mess, this however felt different.
Will she be okay?
Will I see him again?
An assortment of questions raved through their minds, everything after this would be a mystery to both and they at least wanted some kind of answer.
"Be there alright," Pieck's voice cracked, reminding him of his role.
"I promise I will," Porco swore to her, ready to be there when ready.
Either could've gone then but leaving it there wouldn't be right. No hesitation on either end, they shared one last kiss, Porco's hands cupped her cheeks wiping the tears from her eyes, Pieck's arms were tight around his shoulders easing his stress away once more. A simple plea from either of them, one thing they both wanted.
Don't go.
The kiss lingered for a moment before they finally parted, foreheads rested against each other, and hands desperate not to let go.
Say it dammit , Porco's mind shouted at him, as if sensing this Pieck spoke.
"I love you too," she didn't have to hear it when she could see it so well in his eyes.
It was a little bit of peace each had in making sure the other knew, the hug they shared only cemented the fact. It was everything they wanted to say but didn't have time to, their worries, their promises all wrapped up in a simple gesture.
A heavy sigh from Porco and they finally parted, the next time they'd see each other would be in a few hours. By then, Magath and the others would arrive and they could finally put this nightmare to rest, hopefully .
"See you later Porco," she waved to him.
"Goodbye Pieck," and then he was gone.
