Chapter Text
Izuku stares up at the sky. ‘Why is it so hot… I didn’t want this… I shouldn’t have jumped… I don’t… I don’t want to die!’ He tries to move his left arm, but it remains pinned under the rest of his broken body.
He’d decided to take Katsuki’s advice. He jumped from the roof that All Might left him on. It was a split second of weakness, and it was enough for him to fall over the edge.
He swears he hears a robotic, feminine voice speak something at the back of his mind. “Confirmed, Heat Resistance acquisition successful.”
He swears under his breath ‘All these broken bones… So painful.’ He tries to move an arm, it doesn’t bend the right way. His hand caresses his face when he tries to raise his unpinned right arm into the air.
“Confirmed. Blunt Force Resistance acquisition successful. Continuing… Physical Attack Resistance acquisition successful.”
“It hurts… The blood…” He makes a gagging sound, probably from his neck collapsing entirely.
“Confirmed. Pain Nullification acquired. Creating a body that does not require blood… Successful.”
‘So cold…’ He thinks, the wind from the alley hitting him now, he thinks. Or maybe it’s the blood loss.
“Confirmed. Cold Resistance acquisition Successful. Acquisition of Cold Resistance and Heat Resistance results in acquisition of new skill, Thermal Fluctuation Resistance.”
Izuku feels the world slowly start fading, and he tries to reach again. The voice continues to speak.
“Error. Not enough known about target to start changes. Analyzing memories, and previous instances of Reincarnation on World… Successful. Unique Skills ‘Sage’ and ‘Devourer’ are created. Further, Sage is evolved into unique skill ‘Great Sage’… Successful.”
Izuku feels himself float along for what feels like an eternity, before something acts up in him. He twitches slightly.
‘Hm? I thought I was dead?’ He moves his hands in front of him, only to realize he can’t see. Or feel arms. He feels a liquid flow around his feet… torso? Whatever. He feels something different as he seems to roll forwards. An instinct presses itself to the front of his mind, he feels his body spread over the warm substance, and it enters his body, dissolving.
He feels something else enter and he absorbs it as well. ‘What the hell?’
“Answer. You absorbed and ate your dead body. Analyze it?” A robotic voice asks.
‘Sure?! Who are you?!’ He feels like gagging, but he doesn’t have a throat to do that with. ‘What am I?!’
“First Answer: I am a part of the voice of the world. Designated to talk to you due to your gaining the unique skill ‘Great Sage.’ Second Answer: A Slime.”
‘Slime!?’ The next few seconds in his mind are fueled by screaming before he calms down.
“Analysis of Human Body complete. Mimic the human body?”
Izuku nods, ‘Yes.’ It feels weird to do so, like he’s partially rolling forwards.
He feels his body twist and reshape until he’s standing, in his shredded uniform. It feels a bit loose, however. He sighs and shrugs, picking up his backpack and walking out from the alley. He hears the sound of an explosion and jolts. ‘A villain fight? Wonder what heroes will show…’ He starts jogging.
“Keep your dreams realistic” plays back in his head, and he rolls his eyes.
‘I just became a goddamn slime and ate my own corpse. Real doesn’t make any sense!’ He shouts at the voice. Continuing his jog without a care.
—
‘A high schooler? Why aren’t the heroes doing anything then?’ he asks himself, creeping through the crowd. As he reaches the front, he feels a shiver crawl up his spine. ‘The sludge villain escaped? Shit…’ He scans the scene, and he spots something in the sludge. A single red eye, accompanied by blonde hair. It looks… scared.
He feels himself dart forward before he has time to think. ‘Fuck. Fuck. Fuck!’ He grabs his bag and throws it, said bag flies through the air and collides with the sludge’s eye, causing it to stagger.
“DEKU!? WHAT ARE YOU-”
“Shut up and take deep breaths before he pulls you back in! Moron!” Izuku, in the heat of the moment, punches Katsuki in the face, before continuing to claw at the sludge.
‘C’mon! Is there anything else I can do?’ He asks.
“Answer: Hero; All Might, is about to engage. Brace for high windspeed.”
Izuku huffs and holds himself back a little, a hand grabs his shirt collar gently, in the same hand grabbing Katsuki, and wind blasts through the tunnel.
“I really am pathetic! Not even holding up to my own ideals after chastising you!”
The high windspeed prevents Izuku from hearing the rest, but he does spot a small amount of blood coming from the corner of All Might’s mouth.
—
Izuku rolls his eyes as Katsuki clicks his tongue and walks away. ‘Need to go home. Existential crisises are bad enough. I do not need to have one outside.
“Warning: All Might, approaching from the left alley.” Izuku nods a miniscule amount at the voice.
“I am here!”
“A-All Might?!” Izuku can’t help it. He’s still a huge fan of the man. “Weren’t you stuck with the press?”
He laughs. “I stand for justice, not soundbites! For I am-” He’s cut off by a fountain of blood from his mouth as he shrinks.
After a few coughs, he wipes his mouth with a small handkerchief. “Young Man, I want to talk to you about something… Why did you run in to save that boy?”
“…” Izuku sighs. “If you’re here to lecture me…”
All Might shakes his head. “No, nothing like that. Unless you chose a petty reason, of course.”
Izuku immediately shakes his head. “No, no. Though Kacchan probably viewed it like that.”
“Kacchan? Is he a friend of yours?”
Izuku spends a bit of time thinking on that. “I wish I could say yes, but in reality, the answer is definitely no. I just saw the fear in his eyes, a-and my body moved.”
All Might smiles slightly, where he had grimaced at the answer to ‘Kacchan being a friend’ “Young man, there is a story, one that’s common through every great hero’s background. Including my own. You know what that is?”
Izuku shakes his head, so All Might continues. “They see a person in danger, and they move before they can think. No matter who that person is to them.”
All Might sighs and bows in a dogeza, knees to chest, face to ground. “I must sincerely apologize for what I said to you prior. Quirk or no quirk. I believe you could become an amazing hero.”
Izuku takes a deep breath, even as his throat closes and tears form in his eyes. He slowly starts nodding. “I-I accept your apology, All Might.”
All Might huffs a laugh and sits up, making to stand. “If you’d accept my help, I can train you, specifically, your body. No offense, but being a bundle of twigs never helped anyone in the field.”
Izuku nods. “Sure.” He smiles, then trails off as he remembers what happened. “Uh, but first I need to show you something…”
—~—
Yagi Toshinori’s eyes narrow in concern as the child says this. “Go ahead.” He nods, and jolts in surprise when the child suddenly turns entirely into evergreen ooze and falls apart, their clothes being absorbed into it as it reforms into a small gelatinous ball.
“Wh-What?” He asks. ‘Could he have had a quirk before? No, no… I know a liar when I see one. The kid was being sincere on the rooftop…’ He takes a breath, before asking. “What happened after I left you on… the roof…” His breath hitches as the realization of his mistakes smacks him.
The kid reforms, a wry look on his face. “Uh, I think you have an idea as to what happened…”
“B-but.” All Might takes another deep breath. “Why would you accept my apology, then? When I caused you to try and end your own life?” He gains a hardened look.
“You aren’t the one who told me to do it. Even if you were, you wouldn’t have been the first, and certainly would not have been the last.” Izuku sighs. “Don’t worry. I don’t plan on letting the person who actually put the idea into my head off scott-free.”
‘… Gotta know, so I don’t say something dumb in the future.’ He thinks, taking a deep breath. “Was it the ‘Kacchan’ kid?”
“… Wow, you are a lot smarter than the tv shows make you out to be.”
Yagi probably would’ve laughed at that, if they weren’t talking about something so serious. “You gotta be, for this line of work. Luckily for you, you seem to have smarts in spades.”
The kid snorts, as though he told a joke. Yagi looks him dead in the eye and shakes his head. “I read some parts of your notebooks, kid. You’re smart…” He sighs as the kid doesn’t seem to believe him. ‘A battle for another day.’ He thinks to himself. “Anyways, let’s get you home… I uh, I don’t know your name…”
“Oh! Midoriya! Midoriya Izuku.” Midoriya cheers.
“My name is Yagi Toshinori.” Yagi puts his hand out for a shake, which Midoriya takes.
Midoriya nods. And they shake hands, when they split, Midoriya grins slightly. “I assume I should call you that when you aren’t all big and buff?”
Toshinori snorts and gives a thumbs up as he coughs up blood. He wipes his mouth again. “Anyways, you need to get home, and I don’t feel comfortable leaving you alone after… that.”
Midoriya nods, so the pair start off towards his home.
—~—
When they reach the apartment, Izuku siccs Inko on Yagi so he can go to the shower to think. And get rid of any residual sewer smell on him. Izuku stands in the shower, his body automatically eating the water.
‘Alright. So, I’m a slime.’ He melts into his strange new sightless form as he says this. ‘Do I have any other abilities?’
“Answer: Yes. Should Great Sage list all of your current Skills?”
‘That would be nice.’ Izuku nods.
“Skill: Temperature Fluctuation Resistance: Extreme Temperatures are half as effective against you..”
“Skill: Physical Attack Resistance: Physical forces are half as effective against the user.”
“Unique Skill: Devourer: Many sub-abilities.”
“Unique Skill: Great Sage: Many sub-abilities.”
‘Sub-Abilities?’
“Answer: Skills have several abilities within that can be explained later.”
“Bios Skill: Mimic: Allows for the copying of anything that has been eaten and subsumed by the user.”
“Bios Skill: Hyper Regeneration: Allows for healing beyond measure of normal living things.”
“Bios Skill: Electric and Paralysis Resistance: Paralytic and Electric attacks are half as effective.”
‘… Okay, so I have 7 skills so far… Is there a way to get more?’
“Some specific actions create skills. Otherwise, Unique Skill: Devourer allows the user to mimic the skills of living things it eats and analyzes. As well as the Magicules of any spells it eats.”
‘Magicules? Spells?’
“Answer: One of the building blocks of life. Includes the creation of what mankind calls ‘Quirks’. Particulates in the air that only those sensitive to it can sense. Much like dust, it sticks to everything. Slimes eat it to grow stronger, since they are made of these things. Mankind has magicules stored in their bodies. In this day and age many humans have an excess of Magicules. You call them ‘Heroes’ or ‘Villains’”
Izuku nods, once again feeling weird about slightly rolling forwards then back. ‘Speaking of. Is it possible for me to percieve past feeling in this form?’
“Answer: Extra Skill: Magic Sense allows for observation of interactions between Magicules and the matter around them to create a mental image of surrounding area. Slimes born normally are already sensitive to this. You need a boost to understand it.” The robotic voice answers.
‘Sooo… How do I do that?’ He asks, rolling sideways in the water slightly. A facsimile of tilting his head.
“Answer: Focus on the area around you, an extra layer of sense should be there.”
Izuku nods and does so. Making a straining noise in his mind, until suddenly he feels something like a wire, he pulls it, and it’s like the blinds get pulled away from his eyes, except… ‘Why am I seeing in the third person?’
“Answer: You see all magicules interacting around you. You may change it to see through your ‘eyes’ on your slime body, if you wish.”
“Extra Skill: Magic Sense is created.” The robotic voice says quickly after, as though just a notification.
‘Right, right… I guess that would be a side effect.’ He hums, looking himself over briefly, for some reason not feeling all that surprised. He flashes back to when he'd tried to talk to Yagi while in slime form. ‘Not being able to talk in this form is inconvenient as well. Is it possible to talk with this form?’
“Yes. By using magicules to express thought, your words can be understood in any language communicated by sound. Coincidentally, while Magic Sense is active, you can understand any language.”
‘Whoah.’ He hadn’t noticed before, since it was white noise, but after activating Magic Sense, he started being able to hear the shower. The thread in his mind is joined by another as he thinks on how to express thought through magicules. He grabs the thread. “LIKE THIS!?” The bath shakes with his voice.
“Yes. But consider lowering the strength of your thought.” The robotic voice says, almost sounding sarcastic.
‘… Sure.’
“Like this?” He whispers into the water.
“Yes.” The voice answers, sounding smug, somehow.
“Common Skill: Telepathy, has been created.” Once again, almost interrupting herself, the voice says this right afterwards.
‘… This is telepathy?’
“Yes. What you currently think of as ‘Telepathy’ is ‘Common Skill: Thought Communication.’”
Izuku nods, rolling forwards and back once again.
A knocking noise brings him out of his questioning.
“I-Izuku? Are you okay? I heard you shout… ‘Like this’?”
Izuku snorts in his mind, extending a tendril from his body to shut off the water. ‘Well, time to face the music, then…’
He morphs back into his human form, not even needing to ask Great Sage to do it for him this time, strangely enough. He asks her about it.
“Answer: Mimicry is an instinct of your body, so while you need help to get started, eventually your instincts gain the ability to guide you.”
‘Ah. Alright then.’ He exits the shower, absorbing all water still on him before putting on the fresh set of clothes he’d laid out.
He then slides open the door, and with Telepathy, and not opening his mouth at all, he speaks. “Better than alright.”
Mom stares at him for a long time, before simply replying “What the fuck?”
Izuku snorts and gestures towards the living room. “I have a feeling that we should sit down for this conversation.” He actually speaks with his mouth this time.
“No, Seriously, Izuku, what the fuck?” She asks this even as they walk to the couch.
—~—
After they get seated, Inko looks to Izuku. “So, what the hell was that?”
“…” Izuku breathes through his teeth while looking at the ceiling. “Best to just rip off the bandaid… I died, mom.”
The air around them shifts as an icy cold sensation settles into her bones. “What?” She asks. Izuku looks scared for some reason.
“I ah, I died. Then woke up next to my corpse, like this.” He gestures to himself, but then jolts slightly. “Wait, uh, not like this…” He suddenly becomes entirely an evergreen color and falls apart. sucking towards a center and taking on a spherical jelly-like shape. His clothes disappearing into the jelly. “I’m, Ah, I’m a slime.”
“… Slime…?” Inko tilts her head slightly, and the strange lines that look like eyes do the same, signaling that Izuku rolled a little to the side.
‘… Adorable… Wait, if he woke up…’ Inko grimaces.
“If you woke up outside your body, what happened to it?”
Izuku seems to cringe. “… I ate it. Absorbed it into my body and dissolved it… It’s uh, It’s how I can take my human form.” He reforms. “I can mimic the forms of any creature I absorb and analyze through a part of… whatever this is.”
Inko hums. “Why are you so nervous?”
“W-Well…” Izuku takes a deep breath. “I can see the energy that quirks use. S-Since I told you about what happened… Y-your energy aura increased by around twenty-fold. It’s a bit intimidating.”
Inko feels her eye twitch. “Take their eyes out…”
“You probably shouldn’t do that to me- Ah, I shouldn’t have said that…”
Inko startles out of her rage. ‘To him? What does who killed him have to do- No, he-he,’ “You killed yourself?”
Izuku’s face becomes strained, clearly wanting to lie but knowing that Inko would see through it. “Y-yeah.”
Inko takes a deep breath, and shoves her sadness aside to continue the conversation. “Sweetie.” She gives him a hard look. “I told you to come to me if you have any issues at school.”
“I had it-”
“Izuku.” She interrupts. “Any, means, Any. Even issues you have supposedly ‘Handled.’” She grinds her teeth. “Who?”
Izuku sighs, rubbing his face. “Aldera.”
Inko raises a brow, “Not gonna give me a name?”
Izuku shrugs. “Less not wanting to give you a name, more not wanting to waste time listing the names of all the staff members, most of my classmates, several passer-bys on the street, so on and so forth.” He huffs and leans in, curling up slightly.
“… Katsuki?”
Izuku cringes. “Kacchan was the one who told me specifically to ‘Take a swan dive off the roof.’ I uh, I don’t think he meant it.”
“Izuku.” Inko feels her nose curl slightly. “It doesn’t matter if he meant it or not!”
Izuku nods. “Agreed.” He waves off her concern like that helps her at all.
Inko shrugs, changing subject with a sigh. “I don’t know how the hell he grew so… Different, from Mitsuki.”
“Aldera.” Izuku shrugs. “They blew up his ego harder than a clown trying his best to make balloon animals. And the clown has needles for fingers.”
Inko breathes out a bit, a husk of a laugh, shaking her head. “Moving on. So, what all can you do now?”
“Wow, my mother, master of segues.” Izuku snorts and turns into ‘slime’ form. “I can eat anything, spit it out, analyze it, copy quirks, copy the appearance of whatever I analyze, apparently copy the abilities of animals too? I don’t really understand it yet. Not fully…” He jolts, a strange wiggling, like a ripple. “I can amplify my thought speed by up to 1000 times, analyze and assess any being I target…”
He clearly underestimates Inko’s ability to hear as he mutters “Negate the normal cast time of spells, fully comprehend any non-concealed phenomenon so long as I have a certain amount of knowledge beforehand, Analyze and research targets taken into my body, craft items researched if I have the materials for it, learn the spells of the target of Analysis, and fight without controlling my body properly…”
He speaks up again. “Oh, I’m resistant to heat, cold, electricity, paralysis, and physical damage, can’t feel pain, regenerate at a fast rate, I don’t seem to need sleep…? Untested. Normal slimes are just vacuums that only need sleep if they spend too much energy. But I have human memories, so it’s possible my mind will want to stick with the schedule…” He shakes back and forth, it’s kinda cute.
Then clothes form off him as the slime expands to take a human form again. A dark purple smoke coming from the air to form more slime. “Apparently I have to absorb what my quirk calls ‘Magicules,’ which are what my quirk knows as ‘Quirk Energy’…”
Inko rolls her eyes. Her kid really had better learn to lie easier. “Sweetie. I’m fairly certain I’ve told you I’m an Info-based Hero.”
“Wha-huh… I forgot about it… You kinda, told me when I wasn’t paying attention… Shit, you always believed I could be a hero!”
She raises a brow. “Of course I did?”
Izuku sighs. “Mom, all I remember is you saying that ‘I’m sorry’ bit.”
She stares at him, waiting for him to say that that was a joke. Izuku shakes his head, and Inko places her face in her hands, groaning.
“I’m sorry, Izuku, you probably can’t be a hero like All Might, but, you might be able to… To be a different Type! Like how Mama’s a Type-3!”
“You didn’t remember any of that?” Inko asks. It made sense now why that didn’t seem to cheer him up at all.
“Well you were crying!” Izuku defends.
“So were you! We’re both sympathetic criers!” She shouts in return.
“I was 4!” He lists.
“Fair enough!” Inko throws her hands into the air and sends them around Izuku, pulling him closer by yanking his clothes with Pull. “Point is. I always believed you could be some form of hero. I never want you to doubt yourself like that again, especially since from what I’ve heard, you could be on-track to becoming ridiculously powerful. Got it?” She squeezes him tighter, as though threatening.
Izuku seems to giggle as he nods into her shoulder. “Got it.”
The two separate as Inko sighs. “Anyways, I’m info based. I know quite a bit more than your average civvie. And that means I know about Magicules. How they caused quirks, and all that stuff. It’s actually pretty general stuff learned in the Hero Course. Since the forms were lost and such, Magic isn’t really usable, so there’s no worry about it getting out, but they still teach you how to up your magicule storage. But, moving on, how do you know all of this?”
“You’re going to call me crazy…” Izuku covers his face and lower mouth with a hand.
Inko raises an eyebrow. “Hun, with all due respect, I know a lot of weird shit about this bitch of an earth we live on.”
“… It calls itself a shard or small percentage of the ‘Voice of the World’?”
Inko’s brows both raise at this a little in surprise. “Well, I’d say you have a powerful companion then.” She laughs a small bit as Izuku stares at her in shock. “Yeah, that’s a thing you learn about as well. Certain eh… Villains, can undergo last-minute mutations or some such. Some normal people are known to undergo them as well. Like, for example, when they’re bleeding out in an alleyway.” Inko glares at her son.
“Well it’s not like I can do it again. This body doesn’t have blood!”
Inko shakes her head and moves on. “None I’ve heard of fully change into a magical being though… Strange.” She shrugs. “But then again it’s not as if my intelligence is unlimited.”
“Why are the mutations limited to villains or people dying?”
“The mutations require a vast amount of magicules be stored in the person’s body, essentially they need to kill around 10,000 people for it to happen, or be really determined to live, and end up tapping into the energy of the world directly to absorb the required to make a new body.”
Izuku nods with a huff. He cringes a bit before saying “Yeah… I realized my mistake right as I went tumbling off the edge.”
“… Alright. I think this is enough talk for a bit. We’re moving, you’re getting therapy, and homeschooled.” She glares when he makes to argue. “Izuku, No. You are not going back to that fucking school. We have the money to move.”
Izuku purses his lips. “But I wanted revenge.”
Inko sighs through a laugh as she stands up. “And you can, by being a better hero than any of them could ever hope to be.” Then Inko shrugs. “Plus it’s not like I’m gonna control where you go to college. Katsuki still plans on going to UA. Probably.” She grins slightly slyly as she starts walking to the kitchen. “I’m making Katsudon.”
Izuku huffs through his nose and leans back, flopping his head against the couch. “Fiiine.” He then jolts, as though realizing his mistake, Inko holds up a hand to stop the stream of apologies.
“I know that’s about me ruining your vengeance plans, don’t worry.” She giggles slightly. “Do you mind finding something we can watch?” She gestures to the TV.
—~—
“Sure.” Izuku nods and grabs the remote. He hears his phone ding and he raises an eyebrow.
=Yagi=
Yagi: It may take me a day or two to get a plan worked out for ya. Especially since you have a mutation.
Midoriya: Yeah. Mom found out about everything that happened today (I told her, didn’t even get to talk about you, dw,) so we’re moving and I’m being pulled from Aldera. Also, I eat stuff to get stronger. Particularly Magicules and such. Maybe animals? Iunno. I’ll try some stuff out, see if it works, and get back to ya.
Yagi: Ah, that would be helpful. But you say you get stronger by eating stuff… Would that make you immune to poison?
===
Izuku tilts his head, asking Great Sage that.
“Answer: The Slime ability to eat everything does not apply to poisons or diseases, though Devourer does allow the user to safely ingest anything and everything.”
Izuku hums, and sends that to Yagi.
=Yagi=
Yagi: Where are you getting this data?
Izuku: I have what it called a Unique Skill: Great Sage ability that lets me decipher a small part of the Voice of the World. It gives several other benefits as well.
Yagi: … Interesting. You’d best keep that under wraps. Many people have tried to figure out what the hell the Voice of the World is. If they found out you can hear it constantly…
Izuku: Yeah, I can see that ending badly. Anyways, I’m gonna find out what all I can copy. Bugs would be first and foremost, since those bastards have a lot of cool abilities.
Yagi: … I was gonna say that that’s gross, but now that I think about it, I guess you don’t need to chew them.
Izuku: Nope! My entire body is digestive fluids!
Yagi: Please stop. The imagery is worse now.
Izuku: Suffer >:D
Yagi: sigh
Yagi: Have a Good Night, Young Midoriya.
Izuku: Same to you, Yagi.
===
Izuku grins as he puts away his phone, still sifting through the channels when his mom comes over.
“Yagi?” She asks, brow raised.
“Yeah. Said it might be a while before he can get the training thing sorted. Which is fine. I still need to figure out everything I can do now.”
Inko gives a thumbs up and stretches a little before returning to the kitchen to watch the stove.
They have a good night, hanging out and making fun of bad TV together.
—~—
Katsuki Bakugo stares at his hands. What was he doing? Getting so angry at someone? And for what? Almost dying in sludge because he was too busy being pissed at Deku for doing a better job than the heroes there? Why did he yell at Deku afterwards?
He clenches his fist in annoyance. Not at Deku, for now, but at his parents. They’re concerned after the sludge villain, so he’s not allowed out for the rest of the day or night until he has to go to school.
Problem is, does he really want to go? The people there suck, he’s starting to realize, and Deku definitely won’t talk to him. Even if the nerd does want to talk to him, Katsuki knows he doesn’t deserve it.
Not after he told him to kill himself.
God! He was so Stupid! He’d never want that! Why did he get so fucking Angry around the nerd!?
No, it wasn’t about the nerd, was it? Does he just feel angry constantly? Why?
He paces back and forth for a bit, and growls before doing 20 push ups. Nothing seems to work. He stretches his arms and walks down stairs.
He walks straight to the smell of food, knowing that Masaru has no idea how to cook. He sits down at the island. “How do you control it?”
“Control what, brat?” Mitsuki asks, turning a little.
“Your anger?” Katsuki asks, noting a little that he doesn’t really feel any anger for the way she refers to him.
Mitsuki hums. “You know the punching bag in the Exercise room? You aren’t the only one who uses it, and it isn’t only for training. It takes a bit to figure out how to burn off the anger, and it might not even work for you, but it’s what I did when I was your age. You might find more peace in what Masa does, which is embroidery by hand. I honestly thought you were already figuring it out, since your school has glowing reports about you.”
Katsuki grimaces, and as she raises an eyebrow, he sighs. “Long story short, Quirkist Favoritism.”
It’s Mitsuki’s turn to sigh. “Yeah, that makes sense. I haven’t seen you as ‘quiet and attentive’ since you and Izuku used to hang out.”
Katsuki snorts with a short nod, then makes to leave. “Well, I’m gonna go try that.”
Mitsuki nods and goes back to cooking, giving him a slight wave as he walks off.
—
Katsuki stands in front of the punching bag, hands already in the gloves, his eyes closed as he thinks. ‘Right, so just… burn the anger off? Well, when I’m angry I always want to punch something… So I guess… Drag it up? Fuck this is weird.’
He glares at the punching bag, face contorting into snarly rage as his clumsy hands find the switch needed to release the floodgates. His entire body fills with adrenaline as his heartbeat quickens and his muscles tense. ‘Fucking…’ His mind fills with angered screaming as he punches the bag, hard.
