Work Text:
When it comes to Tommy, everyone always assumes he is just like his online persona off camera. Confident, loud, bold, but in reality, off camera he was much more reserved.
Tommy preferred to do everything in his power to not ask for help. When he had a problem, no matter how big nor small, he would actively fight you before accepting help.
He also got very anxious and felt guilty when he needed help. Even if it was something small, he would apologize profusely afterwards.
Add these on to the fact he was an age reggressor and you can guess how amazing of a combination that is (spoiler alert: it's not one)
The blonde may have a caregiver but he rarely reaches out when he regresses. He know Wilbur would never be mad, hell the man himself has told him that, but he always feels immense guilt whenever he does. Surely Wilbur could be spending his time doing something better than dealing with his own stupidity right?
Which leads to the situation he was in now. Alone, anxious, crying, and very small.
Currently, Tommy is curled up on his bed, sobbing in his favorite stuffy, A moth named Clementine, hoping that she muffles the load sobs leaving his body.
This is his fault right? He should have just ran. Or said no. Or done more to stop h i m. Even though he tried he didn't stop. It must have been his fault. He probably deserved it anyway. He should have jus-
The blondes thoughts are cut off by a discord call notification. Tommy slowly reaches for his phone, seeing that it's Wilbur.
No. Answering would be selfish right? He didn't deserve the help. He was probably just taking advantage of Wilbur's kindness.
Tommy goes to decline the call, but through his tear glazed eyes he doesn't notice he accidentally accepted.
"HEY GREMLI- Tommy?"
Fuck. Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck. Not good. Not good. Not good. Tommy starts hyperventilating, ignoring Wilbur's concerned questioning.
"Baby, it's ok I promise let's try to take some deep breaths ok?"
Tommy let's out a weak noise of acknowledgment, trying to take a deep breath but, inevitably choking on air.
"It's ok bud, let's try again ok? In for 2 out for 4"
Success
"Good job! Now let's try in for 3 out for 6"
Success
"Your doing so good little one, I'm so proud of you, can you do in for 4 out for 8?"
Success
"You did it! I'm so proud of you hunny, you did such a good job!"
Tommy giggles a little, the praise making him feel nice and fuzzy inside and his chest swell.
"Can you tell me what happened little one? You don't have to but Wilby just wants to know how he can help."
Tommy whines, attempting to speak but failing.
"Oh, do we have a little baby Toms? Talking too much? Well that's ok because your Wilby is here to help!" Wilbur responds, exaggerating his words, which makes Tommy giggle.
"Can the little baby turn on his camera and show me how old he is on his fingers?" Wilbur questions. Tommy fiddles with his phone for a minute, letting out a frustrated huff with how much trouble he is having, and turns on his camera holding up 1 finger.
"Oh your so little! Little baby man! Does the little baby man wanna watch Up with his Wilby?" Wilbur lightly teases the boy though he does catch on, letting out happy babbles at the mentions if his favourite movie.
Wilbur pulls Up up on his computer, screen sharing the movie to the little, who has been happily babbling for the past few minutes.
About half way through the movie Tommy's eyes start to droop as he drifts off into a peaceful sleep. Wilbur chuckles at the boy let's out a breath. They would talk about what happened in the morning, but for now, they would be ok. Wilbur knows one thing for certain though.
He would do anything to protect this boy.
