Beautiful Dandelion // BEING REWRITTEN STARTING NOV 12

Summary:

BEING REUPLOADED REWRITTEN AND EDITED/ LOOK AT MY PROFILE FOR UPDATED AND EDITED STORY.

Weeds are invasive aren’t they?
They find their way into your gardens and yards before you have a chance to stop them. Grounding themselves through the roots of your own plants, and making themselves at home.
Sure they may cause some damage in doing so, but if they find the right yard, and right person, these little weeds can be the most beautiful thing to happen.

Chapter Text

The whispers that seemed to follow the youngest of the Madrigel triplets had always peaked my interest. His black hooded ruana was alway pulled up and over his head, his eyes barely peaking from under the shadow. His arms were always tucked under the cloth of the black fabric, and his lips were always pulled into a small feeble forced smile if not a rueful frown. There wasn’t a day I would see the future seeing seer with a genuine look of happiness. Even when he was with his older sisters his smiles however brief were hesitant and doubtful.

His eyes were a beautiful shade of brown with shimmers of green, and I always found myself throwing the male a reassuring smile when he would catch my gaze. Although my smile would fall the moment I noticed his eyes widen and he would quickly look away, his figure seeming to curl in on itself more. The few times I had attempted to intersect with the male I would be answered with quick muttered words excusing the 25 year old. The only time I had gained the courage to walk towards the male to try and converse is one that particularly stood out, it was when my tía had interfered, interrupting my plan of getting to know the male.

“Mi cuervo” her hand had tightly gripped my arm, preventing me from stepping forward any further and I forced down the feeling of dismay that fluttered through my body when I watched the village seer scurry off with the distraction caused by my tía Maria. I looked to the older female and felt my body tense at the tight lipped smile she forced my way. “S-sí?” I silently cursed my tongue at the stutter that fell from my lips and forced a smile to my tía. “Stop smiling at that-that las palabra mala” her grip on my arm tightened and I gently attempted to pry her iron grip from my forearm. “People are talking” her teeth were bared in a threatening way and I swallowed thickly. “You’re smarter than that cuervo”

Of course I had heard the bad everyone spoke, how he’s ‘good for nothing, bringing nothing but bad to the village’. But his tired eyes captivated me, the way his mouth would twitch into a feeble attempt at a genuine smile of curiosity and confusion when he’d catch my gaze, before his eyes would widen and he’d lower his head. My own tía despised the future teller because two years ago he had foretold my tío’s sickness. The very sickness that just a few months ago had claimed his life, of course I was sad, my tía and tío were all that I had left, mi mamá and papá had fallen ill when I was two, and passed six months later, a few months before Julieta could have helped them.

I blame my tía for my tío’s passing however. After the prophecy of his illness became she refused the help of Julieta, cursing my tío to the path that took his life. She claimed the Madrigels were a curse, their gifts a gift from el diablo himself, that casita was a servant of el Diablo to make sure his curse continued to grow. When the two first borns of Pepa and Julieta were born, both beautiful baby girls my tía bared her teeth in a sneer and forbid me from attending their celebrations.

Although I had remember sneaking out of my room later in the evening, the sun was hardly peaking its warmth over the mountains, and the warm feeling fought with the cool breeze to lick at the exposed skin of my arms, neck and cheeks, and an array of goosebumps soon settled along my forearms. The music was pleasant and the energy was suffocatingly pleasant. The girls were beautiful, their giggles and gurgles of happiness at the attention they were receiving was enlightening. There was when Bruno had caught my attention again, his green ruana pulled over his head, and he had separated himself from the crowd. Opting to to watch from afar.

My chest tightened in an unfamiliar feeling and I found my feet bringing me to the raven haired male his smile dropped soon and he had looked around quickly before his eyes settled on my approaching form. His eyes shifting from me to the crowd before finding refuge on the floor of casita, the tiles in turn rattling silently before turning the male to look in my direction.

“Hola Bruno.” My voice was quiet and I smiled small at the male who still stood with his eyes on the tiles, his hands together, fingers fumbling together. He made no attempt to speak before he turned his head back to the crowd to look at his sisters. “People will start talking bad” his hands fidgeted as he spoke quietly, hardly above the sound music. He quickly turned to the table behind him, his hands clenched into a fist before the repeatedly knocked. “Knock knock knock, knock on wood” he finished off with knocking on his head and I tilted my head at the action. He closed his eyes and held his breath.

“It’s okay if they do” the male let out his breath and his head quickly turned in my direction. His posture tensing as he stood up to his full height. I watched as he thickly swallowed and I smiled once more. I held my hand out to the male, and I held back a bubbling laugh in favour of not further embarrassing the male who jumped, startled by my action. “I’m (Y/n)”

He had eyed my hand sceptically that night, before he slowly reached out, and gripped my hand hesitantly. “Bruno” his eyes quickly looked away and he stiffened, before releasing my hand and turning away “you… you already knew that” he hand fumbled his words slightly and I couldn’t hold the laugh that bubbled in my chest this time I watched red spread across his cheek before watching as he disappeared beneath his hood. “Got-uh I have to go” and without waiting for a reply. I watched silently as the male disappear within casita.
