Magnus hated greater demons. He particularly hated when they were on this plane because that meant Alec was in for one hell of a week. And if Alec was in for a hell of a week, so was Magnus.
Alec hated greater demons just as much as Magnus did. Since their various encounters with Asmodeus, he’d grown less and less excited about the thrill of the hunt than he used to. Jace and Izzy still enjoyed it, but Alec had had enough encounters with greater demons for one lifetime.
This is why he was really pissed off when he and Magnus were strolling through the East Village and he got a message saying there was a greater demon nearby and could they pretty please take care of it.
“I’m tempted to say no,” Alec sighed, “I want to say no,”
“Then say no,” Magnus told him, “I have no problems with just strolling on past a greater demon,”
“You know I can’t say no, Magnus,” Alec shook his head as he sent a text back saying they would take care of it.
“I know you can’t,” Magnus replied, “but we can sit here and imagine what it would be like to have a date night that didn’t get interrupted,”
“Yeah, that’d be nice,” Alec hummed, “but, I’d rather us get interrupted now rather than later,”
“True,” Magnus agreed as they set off in pursuit of the demon, “do you know who it is?”
“I know it’s a prince of hell,” Alec said, reading the message, “I assume it isn’t your father because I think he would’ve come and found us by now,”
“He could be waiting in the wings,” Magnus remarked.
“Also true,” Alec nodded, activating a few runes, “just be ready for anything,”
“Oh, you know I always am, darling,”
They continued on silently, Magnus following Alec, as they made their way to where the demon was hiding out. They arrived in front of an apartment complex and Alec just pointed up. Magnus nodded and the two went into an alley before he opened a portal and they ended up on the roof. When they saw the roof was clear, Magnus snapped his fingers, and the door leading inside was unlocked.
They slowly made their way down.
Once they were on the top floor, Magnus looked at Alec and pointed to one of the doors. There were only four in the hallway, and the one Magnus pointed to had peculiar darkness around it. Alec nodded and suddenly his bow appeared in his hand, an arrow already notched in the string.
Silently, they walked to the door. Magnus looked at him and he pulled back on the string, ready to shoot at a moment’s notice. Magnus let his magic wrap around the door handle and he slowly turned it. The door creaked open, louder than either of them would’ve likely, to reveal an empty apartment.
“Don’t let your guard down,” Alec spoke softly as they made their way into the apartment, Alec first with Magnus watching his back. He had a containment spell on the tips of his fingers. He knew no prince of hell would be easy to contain, but if he could catch them off guard, he should be able to do it. Any prince of hell would expect shadowhunters to show up to stop him, they wouldn’t be expecting a warlock at first encounter.
As long as it wasn’t his father.
Alec heard the demon long before he saw him. He elbowed Magnus lightly and gestured down the hallway. Magnus nodded and took the lead. As they moved down the hall, Magnus heard him too. He pointed to the only closed door in the hallway and Alec nodded. Alec lowered his bow before he raised his foot and kicked the door open.
Magnus instantly flung the containment spell at the demon rummaging through the bedroom he was in. Instantly, the demon was trapped in a small circle and he turned to face them and,
“Magnus! I didn’t expect to see you here!”
“Mammon?” Magnus gaped at him, “to be quite frank, I didn’t expect to see you here either,”
“Expecting your father? I’m sure he would send his regards,” Mammon smiled before catching a glimpse of Alec, “and who is this tall, dark, and handsome that you brought with you?”
Magnus looked over at Alec who still had his bow trained on the greater demon, “he’s contained, darling, you can put the bow down,”
Alec lowered it slowly, “how contained?”
“Contained enough for me to banish him back to his little corner of hell,” Magnus said as he gathered magic around his hands and began the spell.
“Banish me? Now that’s just rude, Magnus,” Mammon sighed before turning to Alec, “you’re not going to let him banish me are you?”
“I am,” Alec replied, not really wanting to engage with the greater demon.
“But don’t you think there are much better things that we could get up to?” Mammon looked between Alec and the bed before making a rather crude gesture with his hands.
“Oh my god, are you five?” Magnus asked as Alec laughed at the interaction.
“I’m just sayin, I think him and I could have some fun,” Mammon shrugged, “I’ve always wanted to corrupt an angel,”
“Well, I’m already being thoroughly corrupted, so,” Alec shrugged.
“Oh come on now, you have to be wondering,” Mammon sauntered the edge of his containment circle closest to Alec, “I get you’ve had a taste of warlock cock, but let me assure you that demon cock—”
“Okay, that’s enough,” Magnus said and snapped his fingers and there was a magic gag over Mammon’s mouth. Alec could’ve sworn he heard him mutter “kinky” from behind the gag and he rolled his eyes. He’d never seen a greater demon try to flirt their way out of banishment before, and he found the whole situation rather amusing.
That is until he turned to look at Magnus, who looked like he was able to explode with rage.
“Wait a minute…are you jealous?” Alec asked and couldn’t help but let his laughter escape. Magnus stayed silent.
“Oh, Magnus, baby, please don’t be jealous of the greater demon,” Alec smiled as he came to wrap his hands around his boyfriend from behind before he whispered in his ear, “I promise your cock is the only one I want to bounce on,”
“Oh, thank you, darling, that makes me feel loads better,” Magnus said sarcastically and Alec burst out laughing again.
“I promise I don’t want to fuck any demons,” Alec said, much louder this time.
“That doesn’t mean he should say those things to you,” Magnus muttered.
“Oh, well, thank you for defending my honor, Magnus,” Alec smiled and pressed a kiss to his cheek, “I’ll thank you properly when we’re home,”
“As you should,” Magnus spoke firmly and Alec snickered.
“I do need to find out how he got here though,” Alec said, pointing to Mammon, “so if you could,”
“Fine,” Magnus snapped his fingers and the gag was gone, “but if you make one more innuendo, I’m banishing you to the void,”
“Magnus, calm down, I was just teasing,” Mammon chastised him before he turned to Alec, “now, ask me your questions, little shadowhunter,”
“I just need to know how you got here,” Alec said, “was it a summoning gone wrong? A summoning gone right? What do you want on earth?”
“I could be…persuaded to answer those questions,” Mammon smiled.
Alec sighed. The one thing he knew about Mammon was that he was easily bribed, “what do you want,”
“Now, normally, the answer to that question would be money, but, I think I’d much rather get a kiss,” Mammon replied, puckering his lips.
“Yeah, no,” Alec shook his head as Magnus looked like he really was about to explode.
“Can I banish him, dear?” Magnus almost whined.
“Soon,” Alec replied, “you’re not getting out of that circle, so why don’t you just tell me what you want,”
“Darling, if I banish him, he won’t be able to come back for some time,” Magnus explained, “you don’t have to worry about it,”
“Yeah, but there’s more paperwork if I don’t know why he was here,” Alec said.
“You’re prolonging my suffering to avoid paperwork?!”
“Boys, boys, please,” Mammon said, “since you’ve made it obvious I’m not getting what I really want, if you make out right here, in front of me, I’ll tell you everything that you want to know,”
They both stopped their bickering and looked at Mammon before looking back at each other. Up to this point, Alec had thought the whole situation funny, but a greater demon wanting to watch them make out was just a little too much
“Can I banish him now? Please?” Magnus practically begged.
“Yup,”
“Yay,” Magnus clapped his hands excitedly.
“No no no, wait!” before Mammon could start to beg properly, Magnus snapped his fingers and suddenly, Mammon was gone.
“I sometimes forget how powerful you are,” Alec said, in awe that Magnus had just banished a greater demon with the snap of his fingers.
“What can I say? Jealousy amplifies my power,”
Alec smiled, “I can’t believe you were jealous of a greater demon,”
“I can’t believe you were okay with a greater demon saying those things to you,”
“I don’t know, I thought it was funny, a greater demon flirting with me,” Alec shrugged.
“You thought it was funny?” Magnus stared at him, “what happened to my blushing virgin?”
“You,” Alec smirked and pressed a kiss to his lips that they both melted into.
“I know we had dinner plans, but…”
“You don’t even have to ask me,” Alec breathed out against his lips and Magnus smiled. Alec felt a portal open behind him and Magnus shoved him through. His legs hit the edge of their bed and he fell back. Before Alec could tease him about how he wasn’t wasting any time, Magnus was on top of him and his mind and body were thoroughly occupied for the rest of the evening.
