Work Text:

It’s not like Jeongguk means to get himself into shit, okay? Jimin will tell you differently, but Jeongguk is a shy, innocent man who can do no wrong and has done no wrong. Yeah, he might’ve jumped off a bridge when he got drunk one time, might’ve streaked down his dorm’s hallway when he took one too many hits and thought an angry Minecraft villager was chasing after him, and may have gotten his friends into one too many chaotic instances involving the Korean authorities.

But listen, Jeon Jeongguk is a complete fucking angel. So when he brought up the idea of going to a club in the supernatural side of town, he truly did not understand why his friends looked at him like he grew a second head.

“What?” he asks, pausing his Mario Kart game after he saw the looks they all shared. “Supernatural folk are so fun to hang with. Remember that time when-“

“Remember that time where you went home with a fairy and came home sneezing glitter for two months?” Jimin interrupts.

“Well, that-“

“Or that time you went home with a werewolf and called us panicking because the guy said he knotted you, and you thought you were stuck to his dick forever?” Jin adds.

“Hey! That wasn’t-“

“Or that time when you went home with a fucking ghost, had unprotected sex because you thought that they couldn’t catch STD’s or get pregnant, and then almost got your life ruined because the ghost tried to fucking baby trap you?!” Namjoon strains, as if the mere thought of the memory pains him.

Jeongguk didn’t have anything to defend himself to that one, honestly. He thought he’d have to be a ghost dad and, like, drop out of college to raise his ghost baby with his ghost baby-mama. But still—

“I’m a changed man now. I promise. I’ll stick by you guys the whole time and we’ll dance and have fun and maybe meet a few sexy supernatural who-“ he stops at his friends’ glares “-I will absolutely not go home or be interested in! This will be bro time! Jeonggukie and hyung time! A bonding experience, if you will.”

He makes eye contact with each of them, giving him his best doe eyes that actually made Namjoon cry once, and even pursing his lips out into a small pout. It’s his game face, the one that wins him every round.

His friends stare at him for a few seconds, battling him with their own hard stares. Namjoon, of course, breaks first, breaking eye contact and sighing. Jin breaks next with a “you bambi-eyed mother fucker”. Jimin, like always, breaks last. He’s known Jeongguk the longest, grown up with him, knows all his tricks and is pretty much immune to them all. Jeongguk stares at him extra long, begins trembling his bottom lip, and gives him the most pathetic look he could ever give. Jimin watches him and throws his hands up in the air.

“Fine, you big baby! We can go clubbing. But I swear to fucking god, if you go off with a- with a, I don’t know, vampire, I’m not saving your ass!”

Jeongguk laughs. “Jokes on you, vampires aren’t real. Everyone knows that.”

Jeongguk thinks whoever decides the Fates is laughing at him.

As soon as he enters the club, dressed in tight jeans and a black, button up crop top, he senses people- creatures- staring at him. Fair-folk, demons, banshees, sirens, etc, all staring at the four humans who just entered the club. It’s not often that their kind enters these kinds of establishments, most humans are still scared of the supernatural. But Jeongguk has always loved the thrill of danger and the unknown, and his friends would follow him to the end of the earth, so they’ve been frequenting this club in particular a lot.

Jeongguk heads towards the bar, making eye contact and smirking with a few nice-looking people who catch his eye. Jimin rolls his eyes after seeing him.

“You’re such a whore, Jeongguk,” he says, tone serious, but still light hearted.

“Please,” Jeongguk retorts, running a hand to mess up his hair a little, “like you haven't hooked up with that one werewolf every time we come here. I swear, it can’t be a coincidence that he’s here every time we are.”

Jimin blushes a little, but shrugs casually. “We text. Sometimes.”

Jin throws an arm around the smaller boy’s shoulder, making Jimin stumble. “If by text you mean every time your phone pings you throw it across the room, then yeah, you two text.”

“Hyung!” Jimin gives him a betrayed glance as they finally reach the bar. He pulls out a chair, still looking at Jin with wide eyes, “you said you wouldn’t tell anyone about that!”

“You know not to trust Jin-hyung, Jimin-ah,” Namjoon tuts, pulling out a chair to the right of Jeongguk. “He spills everything he hears.”

“Not true!” Jin protests, “remember when you told me about that time you tried to ask out Jung Hoseok and then you-“

“You tried to ask out Hoseok-hyung?” Jeongguk pipes, giving Namjoon an approving pat on the shoulder. “Good job, hyung. He’s like, really sexy and hot and sexy.”

Namjoon groans. “Hyung, that was supposed to be a secret between us two. I told you that in confidence!”

Jin gives him a sheepish grin. “Sorry.”

Namjoon glares. “You are not.”

The elder shrugs. “Yeah.”

“Anyways!” Jimin interrupts, not even looking at them as he waves down the bartender. “Let’s get drunk. Remember guys, don’t be like Jeongguk and order any supernatural shit. Remember how he glowed for twenty-four hours?”

“How was I supposed to know it was a glow tonic?!”

“The bartender literally told you it was meant for the supernatural only and humans may experience side effects. Instead of listening, you said ‘bet’ and downed it anyway.”

For the second time today, Jeongguk is left speechless because. Yeah.

As soon as they got their drinks they all downed them, wanting to hurry up and feel the buzz so they could have a good time. It wasn’t like it was necessary to get drunk to have fun it’s just- well, they came to a club for a reason.

Jeongguk had just finished his second shot of whatever shit-taking dark liquor Jin chose when he decided to head to the dance floor. He told his friends where he was going, waiting for their nods before heading out. He ended up in the middle of the floor, strobe lights reflecting on the glistening sweat of his skin, head tossed back and body moving to the beat of the music.

They’re playing some Dean song when Jeongguk feels a presence come up behind him. He smirks a little, as he’s been waiting for someone to approach him. He told his friends he wasn’t going to actively search someone out, but if someone came to him… what can Jeongguk do?

Pleasantly, the stranger doesn’t put his hands on him without asking, but Jeongguk feels them lean in closer to his ear. Then:

“Is it alright if we dance, sweetheart?”

And oh, does Jeongguk like that. Jeongguk likes that a lot.

The man’s voice is deep, velvety, and makes Jeongguk’s hair rise on the back of his neck. He thinks he could get a boner even if the stranger just asked him for small talk.

“Surprised you asked,” Jeongguk responds, reaching behind him for the man’s arm and placing his (large) hands on the curve of his waist. “most of the people here tend to be very… pushy towards humans.”

The man hums, using Jeongguk’s gesture as approval to press his hips against the other’s ass. They begin to sway to the music, nothing too crazy (yet) but nothing innocent either.

“I’m not like most people here, gorgeous.”

Jeongguk bites his lip. “Second nickname of the night. If I didn’t know better, I’d say you’re trying to woo me.”

The guy laughs. “Something like that.”

Having enough of not knowing how this man looks, Jeongguk turns his body around, facing him. As soon as he sees his face, Jeongguk freezes. Because- wow.

The man is gorgeous- face tanned and dewy, eyes doe-eyed and framed by pretty eyelashes, brows groomed and perfectly arched, lips plump and the prettiest shade of pink. His hair is dark and wavy, falling into his face just enough to perfectly shape it. The guy’s jawline is sharp but his features are so soft, the perfect juxtaposition, a painter's art of white and black.

To be honest, the man looks like a God.

“I don’t want to stroke your ego since I’m sure it’s massive, but holy shit,” Jeongguk says, eyes wide. “You’re like, you’re, like, perfect .”

The other laughs, not cocky, but knowing. “I get that a lot. More than you’d think.”

Jeongguk nods. “Yeah. I can see why. Have you ever done any modeling?”

Taehyung seems surprised at the question. “Yes, I actually have.”

Jeongguk tilts his head. “Why do you look so surprised?”

“Most people I come up to in a club don’t ask a lot of questions. They're all action.”

At that, Jeongguk feels a little embarrassed. Does he not like how Jeongguk is actually talking to him? Should he not have asked that? Was it offensive? Wait, why does he care so much about a random guy from a club that he’ll never see again?

The man seems to realize how his words came off when he suddenly says “not that I mind, of course. It’s refreshing.”

That appeases Jeongguk, his shoulders relaxing from where they were starting to bunch up from old and buried insecurities that he tries (fails) to not feel anymore. Instead, he gives the other a flirty smile.

“So, do you have a name, pretty boy?”

“Taehyung,” he says, seeming to enjoy the name.

“Taehyung,” Jeongguk echoes, letting the name roll off his tongue. “And what year are you born in, Taehyung?”

At that the other seems to pause, hesitant. “Well, I would say I’m around twenty five.”

Not noticing the odd phrasing in his tipsy mind, Jeongguk grins. “That means you’re my hyung. I seem to attract the older type. None of the people I hang out with are the same age as me, either.”

Taehyung doesn’t say anything to that, instead just staring at Jeongguk. The younger stares back, enjoying the piercing gaze. The song changes tom something more sensual and less pop and lock-y, some song about sex and drugs that Jeongguk is ninty-nine percent sure he has on his ‘play this when you’re getting railed or 8in deep’ playlist.

Immediately, Jeongguk moves his hands from where they’re placed on Taehyung’s shoulders to wrapping his arms around his neck, bringing him in close. The motion causes their hips to brush, the faintest bit of stimulation on his cock causing it to rise to attention.

Taehyung begins to move his hips as well, both of them starting a familiar grinding motion. Drunk on the music and pleasure of dancing, Jeongguk tilts his head back, displaying his glistening neck to the world.

Which, in hindsight, was the perfect invitation.

Suddenly, he feels two stinging pricks in his neck, and his eyes fly open to see what it was. For two, terrifying seconds he thinks he got injected with something, but then he realizes that there’s a sucking motion on his neck. Someone is sucking his neck.

Jeongguk shouts, jumping back in shock. He winces as the person’s teeth are forcibly yanked out of his skin, the pricks on his neck bleeding openly because of it. He quickly covers the bite, looking at Taehyung with wide eyes because. What the fuck.

“What the hell, dude?!” he snaps, “what are you, a vampire?!”

Expecting a response, Jeongguk glares at Taehyung who just looks… confused? Taehyung opens his mouth, closes it, then opens it again.

“Uh, yeah? I thought you knew?”

Jeongguk’s thoughts shut down. Oh. So, vampires do exist. And he just got bit by one. At the thought, a surge of panic runs through him.

“Oh my god, did you just turn me into a vampire? Am I going to wake up tomorrow and be dead ? But I can’t be a vampire! I have morning classes, and- wait ,” he gasps, ”I’m not gonna be able to eat garlic. This is- you-“ And then he gives Taehyung the dirtiest look ever. “How dare you.”

Then, and Jeongguk honestly doesn’t remember much of this, the alcohol he had in his system finally kicking in and the panic from the situation making him a bit crazy, Jeongguk pounces on the vampire, causing him to lose his balance and fall to the ground. As soon as the vampire hits the floor (oddly holding onto Jeongguk so he doesn’t fall off of him), Jeongguk leans his head towards the other neck and bites

Hard.

He bites the juncture between his neck and collarbone, blunt teeth breaking skin. It isn’t anything serious, not like he’s taking a huge chunk of skin out, but it’s definitely not the average bite you’d give to someone you had been intending to sleep with. Jeongguk hears Taehyung curse in pain below him, but doesn’t let off until he hears shouts from his friends behind him.

“Jeongguk, what the fuck!” Jin shouts, pulling him off of Taehyung. “You can’t just bite people!”

“He bit me!” Jeongguk protests, pointing to his neck. The whole club is staring at them now. “Look!”

And his friends look at his neck to see a manicured bite and two small holes on Jeongguk’s neck. Namjoon quickly walks closer to him to inspect it.

“He’s right. It is a bite.” Then, all three of his hyung’s turn towards Taehyung on the floor. Still talking to Jeongguk, but beginning to glare at the vampire, they ask: “He did this without your consent?”

Taehyung, who’s still on the floor and holding a hand against Jeongguk’s bite, stammers. “No! I thought- I thought he-“

“I’m gonna turn into a vampire !” Jeongguk wails, all his emotions now coming to him. “I’m gonna turn into a vampire and die ! No! I’m gonna die and then turn into a vampire! And- and I can’t have garlic! Or go outside in the sun! Or- or enter people’s houses! And I’m gonna sparkle like a weirdo!”

Jimin quickly approaches him, reaching out soothing hands. Jeongguk quickly backs away. “No! I don’t wanna eat you, hyung. Stay away!”

Looking away from all the commotion, Jin glares at Taehyung who, in all his years, has never been so confused (and a little afraid, to be honest). “You turned Jeonggukie into a vampire without his consent?! I don’t care that you’re a vampire, asshole. You see that small one? Jimin? Yeah, an Alpha werewolf is trying to court him or some shit, so we’ll send Yoongi after you to eat you and see how you like it!”

“That’s not what happened!” And, Yoongi? They know his hyung? “I thought he knew I was going to feed! That’s why a lot of humans come here on Thursdays!”

At that, Jin looks confused. “What?”

“It’s, uh, Thirsty Thursday. You know, a day the club owner sets aside for vampires like me to get food without having to go to blood banks? Humans come here because they like the feeling of our venom. It’s like… an emotion elevator, or sort. Like a high. It's all safe, sane, and consensual, I promise.”

Jin stares, assessing. Then, he looks around the club, meeting the eyes of all the onlookers wondering what the chaos is all about. He notices that plenty of them are oddly beautiful, plenty of them have red coating their lips, and plenty of them have humans on their sides who seem to be staring incredulously at Jeongguk.

“Is he alright?” one of them, a girl, questions. “Taehyung isn’t lying, by the way. It’s basically a weekly blood drive here on Thursdays. I’m surprised the four of you didn’t know.”

At that, Jin let’s put a deep, exhausted, prolonged groan. “Yeah. Jeongguk tends to get us into shit without us knowing a lot.”

Speaking of the boy, he’s finally calmed down in Jimin’s arms, sniffling. With large eyes, he peers around at the crowd. Then, he looks at Taehyung, who still is nursing a giant bite that looks like it's going to bruise. At the sight, Jeongguk freezes. “Holy shit, I bit a vampire.”

At the words, everyone snaps their gazes to Taehyung’s neck, curious gazes peering at the set of teeth marks and purpled skin that are displayed on the vampire's tanned neck. Someone whistles and says: “I think he bites harder than I do.”

“I- for the record, I only bit back to display dominance,” Jeongguk stated, easing up from his spot on the floor. He slowly walks over to Taehyung, who looks at Jeongguk with a little fear in his eyes (listen, it’s not every day a human bites back). “I couldn’t just let you one up me like that.”

“Jeongguk,” Namjoon grinds out, teeth clenched into a smile. “Stop riling up the vampire.”

Taehyung stands up too, brushing off his pants. He puts his hands up in the air when the four humans tense, trying to put them at ease. “Well, Jeongguk, you certainly know how to surprise a man.”

Jeongguk beams. “Thanks!”

“And, just so you know, I am sorry about the bite. Never in my two-hundred years have I bitten a human without their consent. It shames me that I have that on my record starting today.”

Jeongguk shifts, placing his hand on the back of his neck. He draws his bottom lip between his teeth, drawing Taehyung’s eyes to the gesture. Then, he speaks: “Thanks. But, also for the record, I didn’t completely hate it. I only got scared because I wasn’t expecting it, that’s all.”

That peaks Taehyung’s interest. He steps closer to the human, surveying his eyes over Jeongguk’s face. “Oh really?”

Jeongguk gulps. “Yeah.”

Namjoon, Jimin, and Jin all look at each other and- for the nth time- groan.

Here we go again.
