That Time Blue Teased Back

Summary:

A TAMD AU story where Red teases Blue too much so Blue whips it right back around on him. Short and sweet but fun.

Notes:

Also for Catsitta! I had this one stuck in my head all day so I had to. Sorry for not giving Red some relief but he has to learn ;)

Work Text:

The first indication Blue had that things were amiss was being cornered in the library by the large dragon lord that had ‘taken’ Prince Sans all those nights ago. He stared up with wide eyelights as the dragon, quite the formidable foe if he dared to say as much, leaned down and…nuzzled his cheek like an overeager horse?

“U-UM…DRAGON RED, THIS IS QUITE, ER…”

His words were quite stolen from him when the dragon purred, his body vibrating as he leaned to bonk his skull with Blue’s. Blue stared in utter confusion as the large dragon lord proceeded to nuzzle him like an energetic moth, and then with that done, he stood up tall. “I be back, harem-mate.”

And then? He was gone??

Blue had so many, many questions about everything that just occurred. And who to volley those questions at than none other than Prince Sans.

He found Prince Sans on the other side of the library, a feat in and of itself considering how vast the room was. “PRINCE SANS, I APOLOGIZE FOR INTERRUPTING…”

“Ser Blue,” he murmured, two books opened side by side. Magic lit them up, a page turning every so often as those handsome white eye pips scoured over them curiously. How often Blue had dreamed them to give him such attention, but that was neither here nor there. He shook himself out of his thoughts as Prince Sans lifted his gaze. “What ails you, friend?”

“AH. THE DRAGON LORD, HE IS ACTING…QUITE DIFFERENT TODAY.”

“My lord husband?” he seemed amused at the thought for some reason, one book shutting and placing itself on a stack as Sans turned fully, hands behind his back in his usual stance. Today he wore a simple puffy sleeved outfit with gold lining on the sleeves. “How so?”

“WELL…” Was it wrong for Blue to say? He’d never get an answer if he didn’t ask, that was just how he did things, but…it felt like…something was so very off about the whole situation. “HE…CORNERED ME AT THE OTHER END OF THE LIBRARY. AND. SNIFFED? ME? I THINK?”

Prince Sans, to his credit, merely looked more and more amused at Blue’s loss of words. “He did, hm?”

“I THINK?” This was just so confusing for the poor knight! “HE SEEMED…VERY AFFECTIONATE, FOR LACK OF MORE WORDS.”

Sans seemed to find amusement in that, laughter bubbling up from somewhere deep inside him before he coughed into his hand. “Mm. I see. I will…talk with him about this. Go about your duties, then.”

Blue gave a snappy salute. “YES, PRINCE!” And he was gone again, doing ‘rounds’. While the dragon lord may feel secure, Blue never felt safe without someone going around and ensuring so. That was a Knight’s duty after all, and he would never forgive himself for doing poorly on it!

It took no time at all for the dragon lord to corner him once more, this time in a hallway where a few spiders had taken up home. He’d gotten distracted watching outside as the sun began to set, only to feel the large body behind him at the last moment. “OH-!”

He was pressed up against the window, magic flushing his face as he felt those large hands glide up his sides, a purr from the large dragon as he nuzzled Blue’s neck. He had to stand on the tips of his toes from the sudden movement, pressing his hips back against the dragon lord. He let out a choked noise. What kind of knight was he if he could be taken off guard so easily! He tried to speak up, but only a strangled moan came out as a forked tongue flicked against his neck.

And then, with a peck of a kiss to his head, the large dragon was gone, whistling as he walked down the hallway. Blue was left panting against the window, magic stirred in his pelvis as he tried to sort out exactly what just happened.

And that’s just what kept happening. Every time Blue was alone, Dragon Red would find him, corner him, then wind him up just enough to make it unbearable only to leave happy as a clam. Blue was finding this horribly annoying, although he often thought of himself a paragon of patience.

“I CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE!” Blue did NOT whine as he threw himself onto the table full of maps Sans had been scouring the past hour, his face hidden between the Alpines of Old and the ravine named ‘Piokesos’. Prince Sans didn’t even answer him as he scrawled something down on a piece of parchment, hardly looking up.

“Take what, Ser Knight?”

“YOUR HUSBAND!” he barely rolled his head, squinting-not glaring, that would be rude-at Prince Sans. “HE KEEPS DOING THAT THING AND THEN HE WILL JUST LEAVE AND NOT EVEN BE AROUND! WHAT IS HE DOING??”

“Ah. Yes. That.” Prince Sans chuckled. “He’s winding you up, Ser Knight. He did the same with me the first few days.”

“WHY?” Now Blue was curious, what could be the reason that Dragon Red would be doing this?

“Oh, he thinks it’s cute when you blush. He found it cute when I ignored his advances.” He scrawled something on the parchment in that flowy handwriting that Blue had a hard time reading. “The only advice I have is to ignore him. He’ll grow tired of it, then things will be back to normal.”

Hmm. Ignore him? How rude, Blue was merely a Knight while Dragon Red was a Lord. To ignore him would be equal to spitting in his face. However, there was something he could do instead…Blue perked up, dragging himself from the table to thump his fist into his palm. “PRINCE SANS! YOU’RE SO SMART, I THANK YOU KINDLY FOR THIS HELP!”

“Of course. Do not torment him too much, Ser Knight. I have to deal with him most of the time,” the prince teased, and Blue merely laughed, bouncing out the doorway. After all, they’d been friends for many years. Prince Sans should know him by now…

He had the opportunity when Dragon Red cornered him once more, early in the morning. He’d turned a corner, only to bounce off the thick hide of the uniform that the lord wore. “I AM SO SORRY, MY LORDSHIP!” He quickly bowed, giving Dragon Red a smile. “I DID NOT ANTICIPATE ANYONE AROUND THIS EARLY.”

Dragon Red purred happily, and Blue could imagine a tail wagging behind him as he stepped closer, head cocking to the side as he smiled at Blue. “Harem-mate good. Hungry?”

“NOT YET! I BREAK THE FAST IN TWO HOURS.”

A step forward by the lord, a step back for Blue. “Harem-mate…happy?”

“WHY YES! EVERYTHING IS FINE.”

Step forward, step back. His back hit the wall, thoroughly cornered by the large, foreboding dragon who was grinning like a lovestruck fool. “Happy for harem-mate,” he purred, leaning in and caging Blue in between his arms, that long serpentine tongue snaking out to tease against Blue’s jaw.

But Blue had something up his sleeve for this one. Between one moment and the next, Dragon Red found himself with his back to the wall, a delightfully grinning Blue now caging him in despite their size differences. He looked confused as Blue leaned up, pecking a kiss to his cheek. “MIND YOURSELF, DEAR LORD. I HAVE DUTIES TO ATTEND TO,” he murmured, eye pips glancing up at the very flustered dragon. “I CANNOT BEAR TO BE DISTRACTED. HOWEVER, IF YOU’LL KINDLY ALLOW THIS TO ME, PERHAPS I WILL BE…AMENABLE TO MORE…DISTRACTIONS, LATER.” his face had been moving in closer and closer, inch by inch. Dragon Red watched his mouth with the intensity one does a viper so as not to be struck, his skull leaning downwards as he started nodding dumbly.

With that, Blue smiled brightly. “WONDERFUL!” He backed up, letting Dragon Red go as he clapped his hands. “I SHALL DO MY ROUNDS THEN! I SHALL SEE YOU AND PRINCE SANS AT BREAKFAST THEN, HAVE A GREAT MORNING!”

He left, a bounce in his step, secretly giddy at getting one over on the dragon lord. Said dragon lord was left behind, his pants quite tight by now, with only a thought left in his mind.

‘What…just happened?’
