He had said it a thousand times already. Jungles were the worst kind of biome to navigate. Creepers, vines, trees everywhere, the chance of getting lost in one was extremely high.
That was exactly what had happened now. It wasn't by far the first time Dream had traveled through a jungle. Quite the contrary, but that did not change the fact that the awkward biome once again slowed down his pace. Using his axe to cut through the branches and vines that stood in the way, Dream stopped short as he spotted a jungle temple in the distance.
He walked up to it, thinking that he could benefit from the arrows and some of the items that he would find beyond the traps. These buildings tended to be as useless as the complexity of their biome. Dodging and cutting the strings on the ground, Dream grabbed the arrows from the dispensers, ready to turn back and continue his escape from this jungle; but something made him stop and turn to look at a strange pattern on a wall, reaching over and pressing a block protruding from it.
The wall opened, leading into a strange room, which he had never seen before in structures like this. In the middle of the room, on a kind of altar, an object glowed with a violet faint light. About the size of a kitten and with an appearance similar to that of an immortality totem, it had the aesthetic of an... enderman.
Speaking of which-
Dream reached out to take the object, examining it in his hands for a few seconds, when he heard the familiar sound of teleportation beside him, along with the growling of an aggressive enderman. The sudden situation startled him, causing him to almost drop the item, which he instead stored in his inventory, scanning the room for the enderman. But he didn't see anything.
Dream decided to leave the temple once and for all, reaching the entrance stairs when a strange and sudden sensation in his abdomen made him stop short and gasp, as he felt a sharp pain that slowly grew inside his torso. He felt like his insides were churning, and he could almost swear he saw his stomach glow under his clothes and the hand he had pressed over it.
As quickly as it began it was over. Dream stood on the stairs, panting softly and wondering what the hell had just happened. His abdomen now felt... full. He even thought it looked slightly larger.
The groans of the zombies and the rattling of the archers let him realize that night had fallen. He could see the shadows of the monsters wandering through the maze of trees outside the temple, and as he took out his axe, preparing to push through branches and mobs a new pain attacked his torso, almost making him scream. From within, a pressure that oppressed him, that seemed to destroy his back. Amid the agony Dream could have sworn he felt something move.
An arrow whistled past his head. The monsters had noticed his presence, some bows were already pointed at him, and a few zombies were beginning to limp in his direction. Through the darkness, purple eyes gleamed up at him, hearing the creature chirp from outside.
"Shit..." The boy, as he could, stood up and walked away with difficult and painful steps from the entrance of the temple, seeing how the mobs began to enter the structure and the shrieks of the endermen alerted him about their dangerous presence. The outside of the temple was even worse when it came to mobs.
Dream couldn't believe the amount of monsters around him, swinging his axe in front of himself and hitting a zombie with it, the boy decided that it was best to go back inside the temple and lock himself in a corner, either until the morning arrived or until the pain and pressure in his abdomen was gone.
Struggling up the stairs to the second floor, Dream obstructed them with blocks behind him and slumped against a wall. His abdomen felt very strange.
The boy panted a little, resting a hand on his lower belly and wondering what the hell was going on. He definitely could feel some kind of movement inside. Dream was confused and scared, and in the middle of it all, a burst of water between his legs startled him.
"Did I just-"
Before he could ask himself the obvious, an intense pain in his abdomen and back almost made her cry, curling over himself and gasping when the pressure disappeared, what seemed like minutes later.
"What the fuck is going on?!"
Dream could hear the mobs nearby, probably on the stairs but unable to climb because of the blocks in between. Another cramp made him curl on himself as he could, with how swollen his torso felt it was not easy. He definitely felt something move in his body, something that seemed to be trying to come out of.
"Oh fuck!" A pained gasp escaped his mouth, spreading his legs and arching off the ground at the violent spasms in his abdomen, rushing to remove his pants without thinking, feeling how much they tightened on his swollen abdomen. He felt much better freeing himself from the garment, but the water or whatever it was that soaked the fabric left him confused.
Something was trying to get out of his body, he definitely could feel it. The urge to push forced him to obey, tensing his entire body and doing exactly that. He could hear the monsters wandering behind the barrier he had put up on the stairs, which for a moment made him wonder what he would do to get out of there once he could. That is if he didn't die from the horrible pain in his body and his lower area.
Dream tensed again and pushed, hoping it wasn't one of his organs that was trying to come out of him. The popping of something solid emerging accompanied by more water made him gasp, keeping his eyes up to the ceiling for a few seconds, afraid to look at whatever it was that was sticking out of his body, but feeling the curiosity and the need to know finally win, he slowly lowered his eyes towards whatever it was that was between his legs. Dream would have expected anything but a black and white head. The head of a baby.
The boy let out a little shriek of confusion and horror, barely finding time to panic before a new cramp forced him to push hard. Dream whined, feeling the creature's body move inside him and shuddering at the strange sensation. He could also hear phantoms screeching around the temple, flying over it and looking for a way to reach him.
Dream panted a little hard, getting to his knees on the moldy stone and pushing again, trying to ignore the sensation of liquids leaving his body and soaking his pants. The baby's shoulders soon came out one after the other, and before Dream could react to catch it, the baby fell onto his trousers, taut between his legs.
"What the fuck." He said agitated, looking down at the little child writhing on his ruined pants. Well, it actually wasn't that little. It was actually quite big, Dream couldn't believe that it had just come out of his body. The boy stared at it, seeing it squirm gently and strangely not cry.
Its skin was perfectly divided into two colors, black and white, with bright eyes that he could recognize as those of the endermen, although the color didn't exactly match the purple tone those monsters had in their gazes. Instead, its eyes were one green and one red each. It also didn't seem to have an umbilical cord, which was strange too, but again, it was a baby who had just been born from someone who hadn't been pregnant that morning.
With shaking hands, Dream took the enderling, who had just inexplicably come out of him and leaned against a wall with the little boy (yes, it was a boy) in his arms. He could still hear the zombies moaning and the spiders hissing. He even thought he could hear a few endermen vwooping in the distance, but maybe that was just the newborn snuggled against his chest.
"Heh, at least you're kinda cute." Dream exclaimed, looking into the bright, colorful half-open eyes of the little enderman.
Maybe the jungles weren't so bad after all.
