Work Text:
Yang leaned up against the wall next to Dr. Ooblek's class, mindlessly going through her scroll with a smile. She and Blake only had a few classes together this year, but they never failed to meet up as often as possible.
She spared a brief glance at her right arm, it's hard to believe it's been three years since the thwarted attack on Beacon, despite them coming out a bit worse for wear, they still managed to make it out alive. Now life was good, a lot calmer. Well, as calm as it could be training to be a Huntress, but it was nice.
She's brought out of her thoughts by the sound of a bell, students immediately filtering out of the room and fleeing to the safety of their dorms. Her eyes flitted across each person until she spotted a familiar set of ears, flicking around with all the noise.
"Blake!" Yang pushed off the wall, moving the short distance to the girl who spun towards her.
"Yang, did you wait long?" She asks, a small smile slipping on her face as they began their trek back to their room.
"Nah. Besides I'd rather wait for you then listen to another second of Port's rambling." Yang groans, that man knew how to teach, but he never shut up long enough to do it.
Blake just gives a small laugh, it's cute and fills Yang's chest with warmth. Unfortunately their pleasant stroll is cut short by what is, quite possibly, the most irritating voice in the world.
"Hey kitty cat, how 'bout you come be with an alpha, instead of some beta." Everything about Cardin drove Yang up a wall, the way he talked to anyone but alpha's, especially omega's, the way he thought he was just better than everyone because of his status.
It pissed her off.
So maybe Yang snapped, she wasn't sure where it came from really, sure she'd stood up for Blake before but never like this. In the blink of an eye she had Cardin pinned to the wall, lifted off the ground with one hand alone. Her body felt like it was on fire, burning from the inside out, the same feeling as when she used her semblance.
"You are going to leave my partner alone, understood?" Yang was in his face, daring him to say something, she almost wanted him too. He didn't though, just stared wide eyed, terrified and gave a short nod. Yang's own eyes narrowed before letting go, Cardin falling to his knees as he stared up at her.
"Yang..." It was a soft voice, worried, Blake, tugging on her sleeve.
Yang blinked, the fire draining, the reality setting in as she noticed the crowd that had gathered, whispering and pointing. Students love to gossip. But a beta standing up to an alpha like that... that's not exactly a common experience.
"C'mon Blake." Yang let her hand wrap around Blake's as they gently made their way out of the swarm of people, trying to ignore the stares.
They just had to get back to the dorm.
-
"Yang, what was that?" Blake asked as they entered their room, apparently just as confused as she was.
"I don't know!" Yang groans, flopping back on Blake's bed. "I've never really felt that way before, like angry and..." Possessive The word comes to her mind unbidden, a thought that sends a chill down her spine. She is not possessive of Blake. "I don't know it was weird..." She mutters, feeling the bed dip beside her.
"Should we go to the nurse? You could be getting sick." Blake's ears were flat, brows knitted In concern as she stared down at Yang.
"I'm fine, I just want to sleep and forget about it." She moves further over on the bed, an unspoken offer Yang knows Blake will agree to, they've done it a million times at this point.
Blake's lip quirks slightly as she sighs, "At least take your shoes off."
Yang glances down with a nervous chuckle, swiftly removing her shoes and tossing them off the bed. Weiss would yell at her later but for now she couldn't care. Blake laid back, letting Yang curl into her, so practiced they could do it with their eyes closed.
Yang gave a content sigh, nose resting just shy of Blake's neck, the scent of lavender filled her head and lulling her into a peaceful sleep. She decided she liked that smell a lot.
Yang had gotten detention for her little stunt, but so did Cardin so she supposes it's worth it, even if she has to be stuck in a room with him and Port for an extra two hours. There's talk, of course there is, students who have nothing better to do will always spread rumors, but Yang's good at ignoring them.
It's about two weeks of things just being slightly off, like visiting home after a long time away, she can't quite put her finger on it but something is not right. That's when it hits her like a ton of bricks.
It's Saturday, they have the weekend off to recuperate from a particularly taxing mission, that she didn't do that well in, when it happens.
She walks in their room to find Blake flitting around, searching every drawer, for something, but that's not the first thing she notices. No it's the smell, like a hot box of... She can't put her finger on it but it's good, has her frozen in place, brain going a good type of fuzzy. What the hell is going on?
Then Blake sees her, a relieved smile crossing her face as she walks closer, that smell getting stronger as she does.
"Yang, thank the gods, have you seen my suppressants? My heat came early and I can't find them anywhere." Yang's pretty sure her voice is the way it usually is, but for some reason it seems so much more alluring than usual, it's got her head spinning. "Yang?"
She blinks, swallowing thickly as she stares. Right, Blake's waiting for an answer, but she's frozen in place. The next thing she knows is Blake reaching a hand to her forehead, concern filling her features, but the sudden contact sends a bolt of lightning through her that she stumbles away from, eyes wide.
Blake takes another step closer, Yang's brain is a jumble of telling her to leave and to just be with the omega. Wait, the omega? She's never thought of Blake that way. She has to get out of this room.
Yang's hand fumbles for the knob, eyes still glued to Blake as she stutters out an excuse. "I'll go get some-" She opens the door, she's almost free, "I'll just..." She doesn't finish her statement, bolting out the door and down the hall.
It's like an immediate breath of fresh air, so much cooler and less suffocating. Every inch of her very being is telling her to turn around and go back in.
She doesn't.
-
Yang thanks the cashier before quickly leaving the small store just off Beacon campus and hopping back on Bumblebee, suppressants secure in her leather jacket. She's racking her brain, trying to figure out why the hell that happened, what the hell that was. Maybe Blake's right, maybe she is getting sick.
Whatever it is, she isn't letting it happen again, she felt so out of control.
-
Yang's leaning against the wall, hands deep in her pockets, playing with the box that rests inside. She feels jittery, like everything is amplified by ten, like her skin is crawling, she definitely can't go back to Blake right now.
The bell rings and she sees the shock of white hair she was looking for, her sister right beside her. "Hey Weiss!" Yang's voice is uneven, it startles her slightly as the two girls turn towards her
"Yang? Why are you here?" Weiss asks curiously, brows furrowed as she looks her over.
"Can you give these to Blake? She's in our room." Yang says, hand shaking slightly as she pulls out the blank box, all but forcing it into Weiss' hand.
Weiss just hands it off to Ruby with a slight huff, "No, Ruby will." She says, crossing her arms and looking off to the side. "I really wish she would have told me she was going into heat."
Yang's eyes widened, right, Weiss is an alpha, something that's easy to forget with how small she is, but Yang's seen her make grown men cry with a look alone. "Right... Sorry, I guess it came early or something?" Yang mutters, rubbing her neck.
"Well don't worry, I'll get them to her, the room should be all set by tonight!" Ruby grins, face softening slightly as she presses a quick kiss to Weiss' cheek. "See you guys tonight!"
"Alright spill, what's wrong?" Weiss asks intently.
"Huh? What do you mean?"
The heiress just rolls her eyes, hands going to her hips. "You didn't do your whole fake gag thing, and you never pass up an opportunity to see Blake."
Weiss makes very good points, what is wrong? "I just haven't been feeling great, and I have something to do or I would have dropped them off." It was a lie, her current plans were to wander the grounds and hopefully not run into anyone she knew.
"That's bull and you know it." Weiss says sternly, she's not using her alpha voice, she hasn't done that since their first year, but it was still firm and commanding.
"Weiss I'm fine, I'll see you later." Yang's hands dive back to her pockets as she quickly turns on her heel, leaving before she can hear what Weiss has to say.
It comes to a boiling point the third night she doesn't come back to the room, it's like a replay of when Blake tried to shoulder all of her problems their first year. Yang's in one of the spare classrooms, getting ready for another uncomfortable night's sleep when she smells lavender. Her head whips around to be met with a very angry Blake, she shrinks into herself at the stare.
"Why?" Yang opens her mouth to respond, but she doesn't know how, and then Blake's walking further into the room until she's next to her. "Why have you been avoiding me?"
Oh and there's hurt in her voice that cracks Yang's heart in half. "I- I don't know..." Blake just leveled her with a stare, she knew her better than anyone, even herself. "Ever since Cardin I've been feeling weird like-" Her mouth opens because, "I have no fucking clue how to explain it Blake." Yang's voice cracks, she feels too many emotions.
Blake's face fell, concern lacing her features before hardening. "Let's go." Her voice was firm, a command as she held out her hand. Yang couldn't help but take it, gods she'd missed Blake, but the contact was like pure electricity, leaving her shuddering.
"Where uh, where are we going?" She managed as Blake started walking them out of the room.
"The nurse, and don't you dare try to fight me on it." She shot a glare that made Yang shrink slightly.
It was late, past the time they should be in their dorms, halls barren and not a sound in them. It made her ears ring, she hated the quiet.
"Did you get a new shampoo?" Yang blurts out dumbly, instantly regretting it when Blake fixed her with a confused look.
"Yeah, a citrus one it reminded me of-" Yang saw Blake's ears tilt, a slight blush on her face, "It smelled good while I was in the store."
It was Yang's own turn to stare confused, "Citrus? Are you sure? It smelled like lavender..." Her brows furrow in thought, almost bumping into Blake who had stalled, eyes wide.
"Lavender... Are you sure?" Blake stared at her, as if she was searching her very soul, Yang just nodded, confused. "Let's go." And she was off again, gripping Yang's hand firmer, walking faster.
"Blake what's going on?"
"I'll tell you later, just... For now let's just go."
Yang nodded, letting Blake drag her through the halls.
-
Apparently the nurse was gone for the night, leaving one Glynda Goodwitch in her place, who honestly looked about as excited to be there as Yang.
"Does she even have medical experience?" Yang mutters, leaning over to Blake.
"I do, more than you know." She says firmly, always no nonsense with her. "Now why are you two here when you should be in bed?"
Yang shrinks slightly under her sharp gaze, Blake nudging her side. Right, she had to actually talk.
So she does, explains best she can, not daring to look at Blake when she mentions the night of her heat. That part makes her shift a bit, uncomfortable recounting the details. But once she does finally chance a glance over Blake's face is rather neutral, the one she gets when she's in deep thought.
"It sounds like you're presenting as an alpha." Glynda says firmly, eyes flicking between the two before lingering on Yang. "There's blood tests we can do to be sure."
Yang blinks once, twice, mouth agape as she attempts to process the words. "I'm nineteen you present when you're fifteen, that can't be right." She says incredulously, "Ruby's a beta, dad's a beta-"
"And your mother?" Glynda's voice softens, barely an octave, but Yang hears it.
"I... I don't know, I've never met her..." Yang can feel her breathing pick up, it doesn't make sense. "Why now? Why all of a sudden?" She needs an out, she doesn't want to be some brainless alpha like Cardin.
Glynda sighs, leaning back against the nurse's desk, "The most common reason is stress, from what I understand you've taken care of Ruby most of your life?" Yang gives a shallow nod, after Summer died her dad had shut down, she was left to take care of everything. "Then everything that happened with Beacon almost falling and... The resulting tragedies," Her eyes flick to Yang's right arm for only a moment before back to her eyes. "It's rare, but sometimes you won't present at all until your body feels safe, I have a feeling that's the case."
"Can we do the tests?" Her voice was meek, nothing like an alpha. She hoped at least.
"We can, I'll be right back." And then she's gone, out a side door leading to supplies Yang assumes.
For the first time in years, Yang can't read Blake's expression and it hurts, like there's a sudden fracture between them. "Blake... I-I don't..."
"It's okay Yang, you'll get through this, and we're here for you." Blake gives a weak smile that shatters Yang, making her swallow the lump in her throat.
She knows why Blake's acting this way, Adam had ruined alpha's for her, gods it had taken so long for her to just be near Weiss alone. Now she's suddenly an alpha? One who'd slammed Cardin against a wall in aggression, in possession, no shit she'd be afraid to be near her.
"You can head back if you want." Yang mutters, staring at her hands, doing her best not to completely break right there.
Blake falters, hand reaching out before retracting as she moves towards the door, "I'll see you in the dorm okay?" Yang just gives a small smile, she has no intentions of going back, not tonight at least. And then Blake's gone, door shutting as soon as another opens.
Glynda doesn't say anything about it, but gives a rare sympathetic look, Yang doesn't want sympathy. "Let me see your arm." Yang doesn't flinch as the blood is drawn, mind racing, a bubble of anger rising in her chest. "Here."
She's brought out of her thoughts by a blank white box being handed to her, looking a lot like the one she got Blake a few days ago. "Suppressants?"
"Rut blockers," Glynda corrects, leaving Yang more confused than she already was. "Since you've presented so late your hormones are going to be all over the place, these will help even them out until your body can adjust." She purses her lips glancing over Yang in a way that makes her shuffle, it was so intense. "It will also prevent ruts, an alpha's first rut is always the worst, and with everything happening we should put it off for now."
Yang just nods mutely, taking the box in her hand, staring at it for a moment, "Thanks." It's all she says before moving towards the door.
"Yang?" Her hand stills, the clank of metal against metal on the knob ringing through the room. "Please, talk to someone if you need to, okay?"
"Yeah, thanks." She says with a nod, finally leaving the room, the box in her pocket feeling heavy.
-
Yang doesn't go back to the dorm, she goes to the training rooms, breaking a few too many dummies in an attempt to get her anger out. It just leaves her sweaty and frustrated and the worst part is she can smell it on herself.
She falls back to the mat, pulling out her scroll, seeing a few messages from Blake saying she made it back safe and that everything would be okay. Yang just sends back a simple Yeah before turning her scroll off, she needs a day to process.
So she leaves, hopping on Bumblebee and heading off to the seedier part of Vale, one she knows well. The one that holds Junior's bar.
She's met with the usual treatment of guns in her face, but she doesn't want to deal with that, so she pushes past them, his men practically backing down. They really are pathetic.
"Blondie? Haven't seen you in a while, what do you want now?" He asks from behind the bar, eyeing her suspiciously.
"Think you'll finally give me that Strawberry Sunrise you owe me?" She asks sitting on the stool, "I'd say I'm old enough and I've had a hell of a day."
He stares for a moment, "Are you going to blow up my club if I don't?" She has to bite back a snarky comment and just shake her head. Junior raises a single brow, as if he can tell how off she is too, before setting to work on her drink.
Yang sighs, slouching forward as the drink is presented, he looks like he's about to say something, mouth opening before quickly snapping shut, walking to the other end of the bar. It's good, she didn't want to have to deal with him or his snarky comments, she just wanted to wallow in the fact she might never get Blake's full trust again.
The thought tears her apart, they'd always had... Something together, never quite putting a label on it, but it was there. It was something everyone could see, but no one knew how deep it went, how much they'd lost for each other only to come back stronger.
The image of Blake holding herself slightly further away, maybe even flinching, makes her want to get absolutely smashed. She won't though, she's seen Qrow go down that road, and she's not about to risk Bumblebee's safety. So she'll have just one, and then find somewhere to tuck away tomorrow, she just needs a day to herself.
Yang realizes, far too late, that perhaps disappearing without any notice may have been a bad idea. In her defense she forgot she shut her scroll off, and she's had a lot on her mind. Her team didn't seem to care for her flimsy excuses though, three different types of anger with underlying worry on all of their faces.
"Where were you?" Weiss all but demanded, hands on her hips as Yang pushed past them into the room.
"Out." She made her way to the bathroom, gathering water in her mouth and popping a pill in, three sets of eyes watching her every movement.
"What was that?" Ruby's voice was softer, the worry clear through it.
"Glynda gave me these," Yang lifts the box in the air, waving it slightly. "Rut blockers, guess it's supposed to keep me in check or something." She mutters, a sudden pang of self deprecation hitting. She has to take drugs so she can keep herself under control. Awesome. "Are we good here, or do you want to yell at me some more?" She's tired, she really just wants to curl up in Blake's arms and sleep.
"Please tell us if you aren't going to come home." Blake's voice is quiet but it cuts through like a knife. Home, back to her family. They didn't deserve this, she had to at least try to pull herself together.
"You're right, I'm sorry." Yang says, standing straight, "A lot was happening but I... I shouldn't have just disappeared."
Weiss' face noticeably softens, Yang supposes if anyone understands it'd be her. "It's alright, we just worry." There's a pause as she looks Yang over for a moment, "And you can talk to us if you need to, okay?"
Sure maybe Ruby and Weiss, but can she talk to Blake? Right now she just has to quell their worries, so she puts on a soft smile. "I know, thank you guys." Her eyes drift across the three, lingering on Blake a moment longer. "As much as I'd love to chat through the bathroom, I'm pretty tired so,"
They step aside letting her pass, and Yang gets a sudden whiff of lavender out of nowhere that practically makes her head spin. She's pretty sure she manages to keep her outward appearance cool, other than a slight stumble that Ruby snickers at, even if her brain is telling her to get more of that scent.
She shakes it off best she can, forcing herself past them and hoisting herself up to her bed. The rest of her team climbs into their own with an exchanging of good nights, before the light is flicked off.
Yang's exhausted, a fun side effect of the blockers, but she can't for the life of her sleep, her head is swimming and she feels like she's on fire. She's normally amazing with the heat, so the fact she's sweating up a storm probably has something to do with this whole alpha thing too.
Yang sighs, lowering herself out of bed as quietly as she can. Blake's told her many times she isn't exactly great at stealth, but as her feet hit the ground she does a silent cheer, it appears everyone's still asleep.
She needs some fresh air, just to cool her skin down, so she slips out the door to meander Beacon's courtyard.
-
It's a nice night, the shattered moon shining bright and the air nice and cool against her skin as she lazily strolls through the grounds. She's never appreciated it at night, it's actually quite pretty.
Maybe she's lost in her thoughts, that's why she doesn't realize someone's behind her, placing a hand on her shoulder. Or maybe it's because that person is a damned ninja who followed her out of their room.
Regardless it makes her jump, body automatically going into a defensive stance as she spins, only to be met with sharp ambers, practically glowing in the moonlight.
"Blake?" Her body relaxes as she straightens once more, head tilting. "What are you doing- Shit did I wake you up? Fuck I'm sorry."
Blake just watches her, an odd look on her face, "You said you'd message us if you were leaving."
Her brows furrow, yeah like leaving the campus, not leaving the room. "I just needed some air, I was sweating and that's not something that really happens to me." Yang gives a weak laugh, trying to lighten the mood. "I think these blockers are just messing up my body more than it already is."
That makes Blake's face fall, confused, maybe concerned, it's suddenly so hard to tell. "What do you mean more messed up?" Blake asks with a gaze so piercing it stabs through her chest, she hadn't meant to say that.
"It's nothing, really I'm fine." It's a lie, a dead lie and she knows Blake knows it.
Blake just sighs, eyes flitting to the ground before meeting hers again, gods she just wants to melt into them. "Yang you're afraid, I can smell it, talk to me."
Yang's eyes widen at that, "Smell it...?" She barely even mouths it, it's only by the extra pair of ears on her head that Blake hears her. Then it clicks, alpha's and omega's had sharp noses, and their scents practically leaked their emotions. Yang never had to deal with that because she was a beta- Thought she was a beta.
"Yang we're here for you, everyone is going to help you through this, but you have to let them."
"Are you?" It was weak, quiet, because Blake's right, she is afraid. She's terrified to lose her partner.
"What?"
"I know how you feel about alpha's and I-" Yang takes a shuddering breath, trying to calm herself down, she knows it's pointless, Blake can probably smell her. "What if I do something to make you hate me? What if I turn into someone awful, someone like Cardin?" She clenches her teeth at the mere thought, "Gods Blake I can't lose you, but I'm terrified what if I turn out like-" The name catches in her throat, it's been years, but sometimes scars feel fresh.
"What if you don't?" Blake doesn't look at her at first, eyes off to the side, but when they do meet gods they're determined. "What if you turn out like Weiss, or Pyrrha, or the countless other alpha's we know that aren't dicks?" She's moving closer and it makes Yang want to take a step back. "You're the one who told me we're better than our anatomy after Adam, was that just talk?"
"No! Of course not!" She remembered that day, Blake crying in her arms, repeating all the horrible things she'd heard about being an omega that she'd been told. Yang had held her close, telling her she wasn't defined by her status, they were better than that.
"Yang you're going to be okay, and I'm going to be with you every step of the way, but you have to let me." And then Blake's arms were reaching around Yang's neck pulling her closer. Yang was in shock, she half thought she was about to kiss her until she diverted course, resting Yang's head against her shoulder. "It's not going to be easy, you're going to have to re-learn so much, things that most people already know, but no matter what, you won't lose me."
Then there was that overwhelming smell of lavender, it made her body sag slightly, muscles relaxing almost immediately. She couldn't help the shuddering breath she let out as her arms wrapped around Blake, clutching the back of her shirt. "I'm sorry..."
The moment seemed to stretch on forever, the two of them holding each other close in the moonlight, Blake's comforting scent wrapping around them as her breathing evened out.
"Can I sleep with you tonight?" She mutters against Blake's neck, feeling the words she knew would come out.
"Of course."
It had gotten easier once she finally caved and accepted her friend's support, but that didn't mean it wasn't still ridiculously hard. Her hormones were definitely all over the place while her body adjusted to the change, gods she'd hate to see what she was like without the blockers.
She talked to Weiss, helpful but extremely fucking awkward. She was so formal about it, it was like 'The Talk' but some sort of official anatomy lesson about urges. Definitely awkward to talk about with her sister's girlfriend.
Ruby was Ruby, a constant source of entertainment and smiles, she was definitely one of the most helpful. Despite being a beta she managed to see when Yang was having an off day, or simply frustrated, she'd offer her last cookie. Which is like, the highest honor anyone can expect from her, she never shares.
But Blake was the one who always helped the most. Yang wasn't sure if it was an omega thing or just a Blake thing, she liked to think it was the second but her partner always knew before she did, letting that smell fill the room that instantly relaxed her.
It's what led them to their current situation, once again curled up on Blake's bed. It was stupid, she'd gotten riled up over something one of Cardin's goons had said to Blake, and she growled. She fucking growled.
It had startled her as soon as the noise left her throat, making her back into Blake, eyes wide before practically bolting back to their room.
"I'm sorry Blake, that was stupid. I shouldn't have done it." Yang mutters, face buried into her partner's shoulder, said girl running her hands through her hair. She's the only one Yang lets do that.
"It's okay Yang, I know you were just trying to help me." Blake's voice is ridiculously soft, gods she doesn't deserve her.
"I still shouldn't have done it, I'm still on the blockers and I go and do that. I just-"
"It's okay, you're re-learning everything, things everyone else has had years to work on." The scent gets stronger, calming, Yang's nose almost instinctively follows it up Blake's throat to her pulse just breathing deep.
It's slightly different from her usual lavender, something better that she can't quite pick out. Maybe almost a citrus? Probably Blake's new shampoo. She ignores the thought in favor of nosing Blake's pulse, brows furrowing when it starts racing, when she freezes.
Yang pulls back concerned as she searches Blake's face. She's... Blushing? "Blake, did I do something wrong?" Immediate thoughts of making Blake uncomfortable dropping her gut like a ton of bricks. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have-"
"No!" She almost shouts, making Yang sit fully up, staring down in utter confusion. "You're fine you just..." The blush traveled a bit further, Yang following it before snapping back to golden eyes that seemed a bit darker than usual.
"I just?" She prompts, slightly afraid of the answer, of whatever caused this reaction.
"You tried to scent me." Blake says breathlessly, she didn't seem upset at least, that's good.
Yang wracks her brain trying to remember the term, presenting as beta means you don't learn much about scents, that's an alpha and omega thing. Then her eyes snap open, terrified lilacs staring into dark ambers as the memory hit her.
It's a claim, like saying the person is theirs. There's something deep inside her that preens at that thought, of Blake being her omega. She manages to shove it down with more than a little effort.
"Blake I am so sorry! You just smelled really good, and I didn't mean to I-" Blake, the saint Yang's convinced she is, places a hand on hers, instantly shutting her up, jaw snapping shut.
"It's okay Yang, I didn't really mind it." Her voice is gentle as she carefully watches Yang.
"You don't?" It's a bit breathless, it gives her the courage to finally ask. "Blake... What are we?"
Blake's eyes widen, lips parting slightly, apparently she hadn't expected that. They weren't just friends, something they both knew, really everyone knew. After Adam though... Anything involving relationships seemed to be a distant dream.
"What do you want, Yang?" Blake counters, expertly dodging the question.
"You know what I want." Yang mutters, blush creeping across her own face. "But I need to hear it from you, I'm not going to force you into anything."
Blake gives her the softest smile she's ever seen cross the girl's lips as she scoots closer. "I think it's pretty obvious, but yes Yang, I'd love to be your girlfriend."
Yang couldn't help the megawatt smile that crossed her lips, nor the way her chest warmed at the confirmation. She had known, they both did, but putting the words out there was something else entirely. "You're perfect." Yang says dopily, she can't help but stare at Blake.
At her girlfriend.
Blake just laughs, pulling Yang's arm forcing her back to the bed, this time she's curled up to Yang. Oh Yang likes that, somehow it was different than weeks ago when they'd been in this exact position.
"You know," Blake starts, resting closer to Yang's neck. "You have this citrus smell, it's nice."
Yang's eyes widen at that, oh. "The shampoo?"
Blake just hums an affirmative, nosing closer to where Yang's pulse is racing. "Doesn't smell the same." She mutters, nuzzling against her throat, it sends electricity through her.
"Blake... are you sure?" She manages to croak out, despite instinctually tilting her head back, giving more access. "You don't have to."
Blake pulls away, just slightly, breath hot on her throat. "Do you want me to stop?"
"Gods no." Yang groans, they aren't even doing anything but she feels like she's on fire. "But if you don't-"
Yang doesn't get a chance to finish her sentence, Blake instead pushing back in, rubbing against her throat. It's a dizzying scent that comes out and fills her nostrils. The lavender and citrus is there, but something else mingles, almost musky?
She doesn't have time to pick it out before Blake's laying back, an apparently content sigh slipping from her lips as she settles, Yang staring at the top bunk. Her body feels like it's thrumming with energy, like she could fight a hundred Grimm all on her own, but all she does instead is wrap her arm around Blake, pulling her just a bit closer.
"We should get some sleep, we have a lot of training tomorrow." And Blake gives a hum that sounds like she's already half asleep. It's cute, really everything Blake does is cute.
And now they're girlfriends.
It had been a few months since she'd found out she was an alpha, and a few weeks since her and Blake had been dating. No one had really been surprised when they showed up smelling like each other the next day, their friends giving a series of 'It's about time's that she promptly ignored, feeling red creep onto her face.
There was something deep inside her though, something that absolutely revelled in the idea of showing off Blake as hers. Whatever it was she hated it, because Blake is her own person, not something to lay claim to. The beast in the back of her mind disagreed with her on that.
-
"Gods I hate this." Yang mutters, dropping her head into her hands as she sat on Blake's bed. It was only her and Weiss in their room, Ruby and Blake were still in class and she needed to ask someone about this stupid nagging feeling.
"You're the one who asked me here." Weiss points out, sitting on her own bed, but she wasn't being pushy. She was patient, waiting for Yang to gather her thoughts enough to speak.
"Okay, okay." Yang takes a breath, lifting her head, but not quite meeting Weiss' eyes. "I've been having like... This feeling. It's like something in the back of my mind, it enjoys showing Blake off and I hate it because it makes me just like-" Her jaw snaps shut with an audible click, a heavy exhale, "Like Adam." She manages,
"Did you even pay attention to my lessons?" Weiss asks plainly, making Yang's brows raise in shock as she meets her eyes. "First off, you're nothing like him, so don't even start with that train of thought."
Yang opens her mouth, but with a swift glare it's shut again. She's seriously going to have a sore jaw.
"It's called your inner alpha, scientific I know, it's basically all those primal urges from hundreds of years ago, stuck in your head." Her lips pursed in thought, eyes narrowing at the floor. "It's irritating, but it won't go away. Some people, like Cardin, don't care enough to try and control it, but most of us are civilized and manage to push it away, not act on it."
Great, so now she's got a voice in her head telling her absolutely ridiculous things. Cool. "How do you deal with it? Like when it happens with Ruby?" She will take any advice, but she quickly tacks on, "In as little detail as possible, that's my baby sister."
Weiss' lip quirks, apparently finding humor in her discomfort. "I just ignore it, which is definitely not easy sometimes and it can absolutely slip through, but I was raised to be in control." She meets Yang's gaze with an apologetic look, "You just have to find what works for you."
Yang groans, flopping back on the bed, this sure is a lot of work. "Alright, thanks Weiss." It did make her feel better though, knowing Weiss, and apparently every other alpha, went through the same thing.
"You know, omega's have something similar." Weiss says, and it makes Yang prop herself up, staring curiously. "A base instinct from hundreds of years ago that they have to fight, so you aren't alone, even if it is different. Talk to her, relationships are built on honesty."
Well fuck. When did Weiss go and get all wise? "Yeah, I'll think about it."
Yang's plans for talking to her girlfriend were shattered as a very familiar scene played out. This time though? This time was different.
All she had wanted to do was ask Blake about her inner omega, see if she felt the same things Yang did, but as soon as she stepped into the room she regretted every choice she'd ever made. Well part of her did at least.
Blake was in heat, and Yang could smell it so much more than last time. She could practically taste the arousal in the air and fuck this isn't good. Especially not as her eyes land on Blake, pupils blown, amber swallowed by a void of black as they lock onto her.
Yang steps away, at least she thought she did, realizing a moment later she'd placed her foot forward instead of back. No, that's wrong, she needs to leave. But then Blake's prowling towards her and Yang is doing her damnedest to hold her breath and back away.
Her back hits the door at the same time Blake's body presses against hers and she lets out a low groan at the mere contact. It's electric, it's addicting, nothing's happened and Yang wants more.
Her hands fly up to Blake's hips, unsure whether she wants to pull them closer or push them away, but Blake decides for her. She pushes forward, grinding against Yang making her gasp, she'd been so stunned, so at war with herself she hadn't even realized how hard she had gotten.
"Yang..." Blake practically moans her name and Yang can feel it pulse through her veins, feel that voice tell her that she needs to just take Blake.
She can't. She's stronger than that. Hopefully...
"Blake... No..." Her protest is weak, lifting her head up when she tries to kiss her, no way she'd manage to come back from that.
"Why not?" Blake whines, hand snaking between them, feeling Yang's cock through her pants. "You're so hard... Let me take care of you, alpha."
Yang's hips jerk forward as her head hits the door, eyes slipping shut. Would it be so bad to let this happen? Blake certainly seems to want it, her inner alpha is preening at the mere thought of just letting go. So why not?
The sound of metal brings her back, Blake undoing her belt. She can't do this because this isn't Blake. This is her heat.
So with her final shred of sanity she lets out a growl, "Bed. Now." Her voice was low, basey, something she'd never heard come out of her own throat. But when Blake shuddered and practically ran to the bed, obeying her order she realized what it was. Her alpha voice.
She swallowed thickly, hand sliding towards the knob, and with a speed that rivaled Ruby, she bolted out the door, slamming it shut behind her as she ran towards the nearest bathroom.
She had several problems currently, one being the fact Blake's scent was clinging to her clothes and definitely not helping the pulse between her legs. Another being she had to text Weiss and Ruby quickly, but her hands were shaking, her head pounding, yelling at her to go back.
Yang manages to ignore it by the mere skin of her teeth, texting her teammates with trembling fingers as she sits in the bathroom. The cold air was burning against her skin, she felt restless, but she stayed put.
-
Blake had been too far into her heat for her suppressants to work, so she got moved to a special omega area of the school to ride it out.
But that left Yang, pacing the length of the room, feeling like her skin was crawling. She's frustrated, in several ways, mostly because that afternoon keeps playing in her head. The scent, the sound of Blake moaning her name, it was leaving her with erections at extremely inopportune times.
The worst part, she's not sure how she's going to face Blake when it's all over. It's going to be awkward, and they're both going to be embarrassed, but she craves more of that contact, more of Blake grinding against her. It's something she could probably get addicted to.
It took three more days for Blake's heat to end, and they felt like the longest of Yang's life. Now that she had Blake, she didn't want to be away from her. It was a dangerous thought, bordering on possessive, so Yang did her best to stuff it away.
She had expected their reunion to be awkward, and to some extent it was. Blake's ears were pinned, body stiff, and she wouldn't meet Yang's eyes. Hell Yang could smell the nerves off of her, but Yang just let out a relieved sigh, letting her own scent fill the space. Blake's okay.
Obviously she knew the girl would be, fine, Blake's been through heats before. but Neon had overshared during the Vytal Festival, mentioning how faunus' heats and ruts we're worse than a human. Yang couldn't help but worry.
"Blake..." Yang's voice was soft, she hoped comforting, "Are you okay?"
Amber eyes met hers with a little more than trepidation. "Are you okay?" She counters, and that's just like Blake, always worried about her.
She moves closer, taking Blake's hands in hers, letting her thumbs run soothing circles over Blake's scarred knuckles. "I'm just fine, worried about you while you were gone, but I'm okay." She watched their hands a moment, Blake visibly relaxing. "Honestly being away from you was really sucky, I don't know why but- Just even for a few days. It's weird."
Blake's entire body relaxed, a gentle smile slipping on her face as she wrapped Yang in a hug, one she returned happily. Maybe it's just instinct she leaned down, offering her throat, Blake's nose immediately finding her pulse and inhaling.
"I missed you too." She mutters against Yang's neck, it makes her shudder slightly. "Hey Yang?"
Yang pulls back, just enough she could look into those eyes she'd been staring at since their first year. "Yeah?"
"I love you."
The confession made Yang's cheeks heat up, but she smiled through it, heart racing. "I love you too Blake, for the longest time."
They stood there, just outside the door to their room for... Well Yang's not actually sure, I felt like seconds, like hours, apparently it was enough time for Nora to see them and make a joke.
"We should probably..."
"Yeah."
-
They changed into their pajamas, Ruby and Weiss were on a team mission, one they'd have to do next, so it left them alone for the night. They curled up next to each other, another thing she'd missed, and a long bout of silence stretched making Yang think the other had fallen asleep. Then she spoke.
"I'm sorry for acting like that, it's just really hard to control myself during my heats." She mutters against Yang's shoulder.
"I'm sorry too Blake, I-" but Yang was cut off by Blake laughing quietly, it made her brows furrow. "What?"
"Why are you sorry? Practically any other alpha would have taken advantage of that situation." That thought made Yang's gut twist, alpha's really are dicks.
"Well I-" Her mouth shuts, realizing what she was about to admit, but now Blake's eyes were sharp, intently gazing at her. It set her cheeks on fire, no way she's getting out of this one. "I had a reaction..." Yang mutters, averting her eyes.
Blake sits up, turning to fully face Yang, but her face is gentle. "Yang, that's not a bad thing, you know that right?"
She squirms under those watchful eyes, "I just don't want to make you uncomfortable."
Blake gives out a short laugh, "It definitely didn't make me uncomfortable." Her words were practically a purr and it made Yang shudder, briefly wondering if she hadn't actually finished her heat. "And, when you're ready, I'd be happy to do more. But only when you're ready."
The mere thought of doing more, the more she'd been dreaming about for three days, made her groan, a familiar fire lighting in her veins. "Blake, you're going to kill me."
"Why's that Yang?" She teases, a small smirk on her face, gods Yang could smell the arousal, different from her heat, but it definitely caused a reaction. Seriously, has her partner always been this horny?
"You know exactly why." She mumbled, she could feel heat crawling down her neck, gods she had to be as red as Ruby's cloak.
"Yang, we can just go to bed if you want." Blake's tone was firm, like she'd stop, even with the heady smell wrapping around them. Yang didn't want that.
"I just- I've never..." She trails off, hoping Blake would understand, and wouldn't make her say it.
Her eyes widen, it's not like they haven't heard the rumours, despite being a beta- despite /thinking/ she had been a beta, it's not like she wasn't attractive. Students will talk no matter what.
"Really?"
"Well yeah, Patch is tiny and mostly filled with old people," Yang grimaces at the thought, there had barely been fifty people in her year, not much to choose from. "and since I came to Beacon... Well there was the attack but also just, you.“ She may be embarrassed admitting it, but watching Blake's face heat up? That made her grin.
"I-" Blake's ears tilted looking off to the side, "I think I felt the same, but so much had happened with the attack and then after, I wasn't ready." She almost looked shy, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear as she glanced over. "But I am now, and we can go as slow as you want okay?"
Gods how did she get so lucky? Seriously it's not fair how absolutely perfect Blake is. "Whatever you want Blake." Because really, she'd give Blake anything she asked for.
Her eyes practically sparked at that, a smirk slipping on her face. It sent a chill down Yang's spine, warmth pooling between her legs. She'd never exactly had a high sex drive, she'd hardly had time, and beta's just were generally more relaxed in that department. Now though? All it took was a look from her partner and she's straining in her pants.
"How about, I take care of this for you?" Blake purrs, hand hardly brushing the front of her cock, but it still made Yang inhale sharply.
Okay so maybe she nodded a little too fast, letting out a breathless, "Yeah," but she couldn't be blamed, not with the way Blake stared at her with absolute hunger.
Blake adjusts, sitting to the side of Yang but hovering over her, lips a breath away from her own. "If you want to stop at any time, tell me and we will, okay?" It was practically a whisper.
"Okay." She manages, pushing up to let their lips meet, it's slow as she does. They've kissed before, made out even, but this was different. The knowledge that more was coming after, that it's not just stopping makes her deepen it. Only to whine when Blake pulls away.
Blake runs a finger under the band of her sweats, despite the hunger in her eyes she glances up for permission, something Yang eagerly gives in the form of a nod. Blake chuckles slightly, hands dipping under and pulling her pants and underwear down at the same time.
"Fuck..." Blake mutters as Yang lets out a quiet sigh of relief, though the longer Blake stared the more embarrassed she got, shifting under the gaze. Her hands were halfway to covering herself when Blake finally spoke again, "Don't, let me see you?" Yang reluctantly shifted so her hands were flat on the bed, her partner's eyes watching her closely. "We don't have to do this, I'm not going to force you."
Yang knows that for a fact, Blake's not going to make her go through what she went through all those years ago. "I want to, I trust you, I'm just nervous... And embarrassed..." She admits, might as well strip all her pride now.
Blake's eyes darken and fuck, that's hot, the knowledge she wants Yang just as much. "Then let's even the playing field." And before Yang could ask what that meant, Blake's hoisting her own shirt up and over her head, tossing it off into the abyss.
"Fuck..." Apparently Blake had also decided to forgo a bra tonight and Yang could understand why Blake was staring because fuck. Her eyes wander the sudden expanse of pale skin, from her tonned stomach, up to perfect breasts, topped with hardened nipples. Gods she wants to touch her, mark every inch of perfect skin... Yang swallows thickly, shaking those thoughts from her head, that's not what this is about. "Wow..."
Blake's lips quirk up, though Yang can see a flush lining her cheeks. "Wow?" She lets out a quiet chuckle, "You have such a way with words."
"Can you blame me?" Yang says, managing to sit up, "You're perfect." It was a bit breathless, but it's the truth, she's never seen anything as amazing as Blake, especially Blake without a shirt on.
Yang watches the blush spread further down Blake's neck, she's never been good at accepting compliments, lingering effects thanks to Adam, but gods Yang would never stop telling her how amazing she is.
"You're perfect, no matter what." Blake counters, pushing in for a kiss before Yang could manage a retort, which is probably good because it's something they could do for hours.
Then she felt it, a feather light touch, a single finger stroking up the length of her cock, thumb brushing over the tip. Yang gasps against the kiss, quickly turning into a groan as long fingers wrap around her shaft.
"Is this okay?" Blake asks, voice low. It's nice of her to check in really, but she doubts she can find her voice as her hand starts slow strokes. "Use your words Yang, tell me if it's okay."
"Fuck... It's amazing..." Yang pants out, there's a part of her saying she should take control, make Blake go faster. Gods she loves this though, each teasing stroke, her thumb gathering beaded liquid off the head to help lubricate. "Blake..." She thinks she's begging for more, for a firmer grip, but Blake's hand stills entirely, making her hips buck.
"I want you to watch." Her words are dripping sin as she pulls back, hand resuming it's slow strokes.
Yang manages to look down, and it's a sight she's never going to forget, one that makes her hips give an involuntary jerk. She's got a white knuckle grip on the blankets below them, she's embarrassingly close already. "Blake-" Yang lets out a strangled moan when Blake squeezes, it sparks something in her, "Please..." She doesn't care if it's too soon, at this point all she can think about is her impending release. That's when it happens, she feels something, sees something she hadn't expected. "Is that..."
"Your knot..." It's breathless, Yang can smell a fresh wave of arousal as Yang stares.
"That- That hasn't happened yet- since the blockers." Her head is fuzzy, chest heaving. She's on a knife's edge when Blake's hand pulls away, making her whimper.
Then Blake's eyes are boring into hers, a glint of mischief sparking through darkened ambers. "Have you gotten off since you started them?"
Yang's brain short circuited, was she about to admit that she'd been getting off? "Yeah..." Apparently she was.
That... That made Blake smirk ears honed in on her every movement. "What did you think about?"
Yang's eyes bulged, did she really want her to say she'd been masterbating to Blake? No way, she had some dignity. "Just... Normal things."
Blake's brow arched, clearly unconvinced as she moved further down, letting her cheek rest on Yang's thigh. "When I was going through my heat I thought about you. I had to use my imagination a bit but," She glanced over, gods her face was so close to where she desperately needed it. "you definitely exceeded my expectations." It was a purr, dripping with sin, but the praise made her cock twitch. "Tell me what you thought about."
Blake's skin was so fucking soft against her thighs, everything about this was going to drive her insane. "You." She managed that single word a plea, she was so hard, knot fully formed but Blake didn't seem fully pleased. "During your heat... I thought about what would've happened if I hadn't left..." She's embarrassed by the words, she enjoys her self control, but the thought of just taking Blake, of how obedient she'd been once she used her alpha voice, it did things to her.
Blake seemed pleased by that, hand wrapping around her cock, slowly pumping once again. Yang's half convinced Blake's trying to torture her, she also finds she doesn't hate it as much as she should.
"Eventually, not yet, but eventually." She mutters, sitting up and letting her free hand move towards her base, giving it a gentle squeeze, one that had stars bursting in her eyes. "Maybe I'll even let you knot me-"
Blake doesn't get to finish her sentence, or if she does, Yang doesn't hear it. The mere thought of knotting Blake sends her careening over the edge, spilling onto Blake's hand, desperately wishing it was something else. Blake lets out a pleased hum as she keeps stroking, dragging Yang's orgasm out before finally letting go. Her entire body collapsed back to the bed, breathing heavily, trying to regain herself.
"That was..."
"Good?" Blake offered smugly.
"Fucking amazing." Yang laughed, Blake definitely deserved to be smug after that. Then it dawned on her, she wanted to make Blake feel good. What kind of alpha would she be if she didn't? "Blake?" Her partner tilted her head, ears flicking, "Can... Can I do you?"
Blake's brows raised, a look of shock on her face that twisted Yang's gut. "Yang you don't have to-"
"But I want to," She insists, sitting up, eyes searching Blake's. "But only if you want me to?"
Blake bit her lip, sharp teeth flashing and, once again, that unbidden thought of marks and claims creeped in, but she shook it away in time for Blake to speak. "Next time... Is that okay?" She wasn't looking at Yang, and it hurt. It was like a completely different person from five minutes ago. Now that the pleasure was focused on Blake she practically curled into herself.
Yang gently lifted Blake's chin, forcing her to meet soft lilacs, then she tried something she hoped would work, something she only vaguely knew about. She attempted to let out a calming scent, she didn't know if it worked or not, but Blake seemed to relax slightly.
"I'm not going to force you into anything. I know you said we can go at my pace but the same goes for you, we can do it tomorrow or never, take as long as you need." She let her hand slip up, gently cupping Blake's cheek. "Okay baby?"
Blake's eyes widened and Yang realized a moment too late what she had said, every muscle freezing. Pet names, another thing he'd ruined for them, 'Darling' and 'My Love' could still make Blake flinch if she hadn't been expecting the words, so Yang tried to stay away from them all together. But the term of endearment had slipped out, and what if she had just ruined everything?
"I like it when you call me that." Blake says softly, eyes slipping shut as she leans into Yang's hand.
"Really?"
Blake nodded, the smell of the room had changed, there was no more arousal, no fear, or worry, it was almost like the scent was- "I love you Yang, so much."
Love. She never thought it had a smell and yet, here it is, curling around them, so thick she could almost taste it. It's amazing.
"I love you too baby, more than you know." A small smile crossed Blake's lips at the newfound name, "But it is late and we should get some sleep."
Blake lets out a quiet laugh, pulling away, "We should probably also put our clothes back on, Ruby and Weiss will be back early."
Yang grimaces at the thought of them walking in seeing the two in a state of half undress, but at the same time she's sad she never got to touch that expanse of skin Blake bared to her.
"Wait, can I do something first?" Yang asks, a bit nervous as she glances away from curious ambers. "And you can tell me to stop at any time."
"It's okay Yang, I trust you."
Yang gives a short nod as she scoots closer, nose finding Blake's pulse by her throat, she smells so good. She presses a quick kiss to that spot, where one day hopefully her mating bite would go. She moved down further, glancing up to Blake to make sure she was okay, but she seemed absolutely enraptured. Yang did her best estimate on where Blake's normal clothes line disappeared, knowing Blake wouldn't want this on full display. Not yet at least.
Then she let her tongue move against the spot, running on pure instinct as she nipped and sucked a mark on perfect skin, Blake groaning quietly all the while. When she finally pulled away she was filled with a sense of pride, while it may not be the mark she wanted, nor is it on full display, it's a mark nonetheless. It's proof.
"Okay, we can get dressed." Yang nods, eyes still glued to the spot that had blood rising under her skin, already forming a slight bruise. Yang wondered if she'd will it away with her aura or decide to keep it.
Finally Blake's eyes snapped up to hers, an intensity she's rarely seen filling them. "Pull down your collar." Yang's hand flew to the neck of her sleep shirt, yanking down so hard she swore a few stitches popped. There's something about Blake telling her what to do that she loves, her inner alpha despises it, but Yang? Yang can't get enough.
Blake looks at the exposed skin, she has a lot more scars thanks to always being on the front line, but Blake seems to find a spot that pleases her, right on her collarbone. She bites, hard enough that sharp teeth draw blood and it's probably already bruising, but still not quite enough to be a mating mark.
When Blake pulls away her tongue runs over the wound, before sitting back with a smug look. "Now we can get dressed." And she's already off the bed, finding her discarded shirt.
Yang peeks down, it's low enough her sleep shirt covers it, but her normal clothes definitely wouldn't. She'd be wearing her bandana around her neck for the next few days. Still, she couldn't find it in her to mind, not when it was proof enough of their love, another promise.
"What do you mean wean me off of them?"
"It's not good to stay on rut blockers long term, and it's important an alpha goes through their first rut, it helps completely align their hormones." The nurse explains, though Yang's not exactly thrilled about it. "And since we have a break, it's the perfect time so you won't have to miss out on school and training."
Logically Yang knows she's right, but that doesn't mean she likes it. She still gets snappy at times, even with the blockers, there's that fear she'll lose control and hurt someone she loves, her team. Her family.
But she can't stay on them forever so with a sigh she nods and listens closely to the instructions, hoping everything would be okay.
-
Everything was absolutely not okay.
They'd all opted to stay at Beacon for the break, Weiss having no desire to return to Atlas, a similar situation with Blake (which Yang was ecstatic about), and her and Ruby stayed because, well their mates stayed. Their dad was a bit upset, but he understood, though Yang had an ulterior motive.
Vale was big, a lot bigger than Patch, with several amazing medical facilities of all kinds. So she stayed, just in case something happened to her during this adjustment period she'd be able to get treated or taken away to a special room or whatever the hell they did in a much better place than anything Patch had to offer.
Also because Blake stayed, she really liked that part.
-
The problem came as her dose got lower and lower, she constantly felt agitated, wanted to get into fights or find some way to blow off all this steam. She'd tried Emerald Forest, sneaking away (though she had a feeling Ozpin knew) but it proved to be futile. Their skill level was higher than the Ursa she had found, and no Nevermore's wanted to rear their ugly heads.
So she got a bit pissed off at all this building energy, perhaps burning down a few trees by accident. At least she made sure the forest wasn't on fire before she left.
The real kicker was her team, because of course it was, the people she didn't want to hurt were the people who irritated her the most. It was so fucking stupid too, but it was something that set her on fire, it was Weiss.
They'd all simply been practicing how to get out of grapples, she had been training with Ruby while Weiss and Blake sparred. That's when it happened, Blake's back hitting the mat below, and Weiss falling on top of her. Really an honest mistake, she knew that, or she would have if she had any sense of mind.
No, instead a snarl ripped from her throat, eyes a burning red and hair blazing as she lifted Weiss off Blake by the front of her dress. "Don't touch her." Her voice was an octave lower than normal, lip curled as she threw Weiss back. She caught herself easily, years of training and all, but three sets of eyes stared at her completely stunned.
Then Weiss stood straight, despite her short stature she presented herself like an alpha. She's challenging you. That voice in the back of her head goaded as blue eyes narrowed in on her.
"You need to leave." Weiss' own voice dipped, her scent filling the room making Yang's nose wrinkle, it was so acrid, nothing like Blake's.
Yang's fists clenched, puffing up and standing straight as she forced her own scent through the room, a challenge. Ruby's lucky, she can't smell it as well, only a mild odor, but if Yang hadn't been so focused she might have noticed Blake's eyes water, a hand flying up to cover her nose.
"Yang you're going into rut, you can't be here." Her voice was stern, steady, she wasn't backing down.
That just pissed her off even more.
"Why not?" She snapped back, taking a step closer, though Weiss didn't move. "Blake's here, why should I leave when my omega is here?" The words tasted off leaving her mouth, but her inner alpha was having the time of its life, staking claim like she should be doing.
Weiss sighs, shaking her head as she draws Myrtenaster, Yang immediately getting into a fighting stance. Did Weiss seriously think she could beat her one on one? Ridiculous.
"I really didn't want to do this." It's all the warning Yang gets before a black glyph appears under her, and suddenly she's frozen, completely unable to move.
"What the hell is this!?" She yells, straining but it doesn't budge in the slightest. Her hair flares, eyes going a shade darker as she struggles.
But she's ignored as Weiss looks to Ruby, "Ruby please go get the nurse and explain the situation." Her sister gives a weary glance and is out of the room in a burst, rose petals left in her wake. "Blake, you need to leave. Go to one of your hiding spots, somewhere she can't find you until we have the situation under control." It makes Yang growl again, a rumble deep in her chest. How dare Weiss give her omega orders?
But when Yang glances over, Blake's still flat on the mat, staring up with wide eyes that almost looked fearful. It didn't make sense, Yangs doing this for Blake so why is she afraid?
Blake shuffles back towards the door before standing and immediately bolting out. Why...? Did Blake not want to be with her? It doesn't make sense, they loved each other.
No. It was Weiss, the only other alpha in the room, she gave Blake the order. Probably thinks she's better because she's been one longer.
"Yang this is for your own good." Weiss says just as evenly as she'd been talking the whole time. "First ruts are the worst, we can't risk anyone's safety, but you'll be better in a few days." She gives a small, almost sympathetic smile. Yang doesn't need her sympathy.
But before she can voice her anger there's a jab in her neck, and her world goes dark.
When Yang wakes up she's in a blindingly white room, despite the freezing temperature her body feels like it's on fire, skin itching as every nerve sparks against the shuffle of her clothing. It hurts everything hurts, so she strips down, the cold air feeling much better than the scratchy clothing.
Still, it hurt. Her stomach hurt, her chest ached, her throat itched for something. Worst of all she was painfully hard, hissing at every movement.
When Yang finally stopped to take stock of the room it was pretty barren, a small cot, a heavy door with a small slot at the bottom, a sink and a toilet near the side. Her nose picks up on something, something toward the bed.
Blake.
Eagerly she clammers on, ignoring the pain in favor of getting to her mate, but she wasn't there. A small package wrapped in paper and a blanket from their room, Blake's bed specifically, was all she saw. Yang let out a disappointed whine, she just wanted Blake, wasn't her omega supposed to be there for her? To use her to get through her rut?
She just crawled onto the cot, pulling the blanket around her shoulders, filling her head with the fuzzy smell of Blake.
She hadn't realized she'd drifted to a restless sleep, waking more exhausted than she had been previously. Then she remembered the package, it smelled like her partner too.
Yang tore into it with more strength than needed, the contents spilling out, a shirt, one of Blake's, and a piece of paper. She quickly pulled on the shirt, it was tight on her, constricting her heated skin but the collar had an overwhelming smell of lavender from sitting next to her omega's throat constantly. Yang would suffer a thousand deaths if it meant she gets to keep that smell close.
Then there was the paper, she picked it up, squinting slightly, she couldn't read it, as if it was in a different language. It pissed her off, a growl rumbling through her chest as she balled it up and threw it across the room.
She sat with her back against the wall, nose tucked against the shirt until the throbbing between her legs became unbearable. Wrapping her hand around her cock made her hiss, it was so sensitive, the slightest touch was almost painful, but she needed to come.
So her eyes shut, recalling the way Blake's hand moved along her shaft, trying to pretend it was the omega instead. It didn't work, she was so close, even with Blake's scent filling her nose she couldn't quite get there. A sudden thought filled her mind as the base of her shaft started to swell.
She needed to be in Blake, needed to sink her teeth into Blake's pulse at the same time she forced her knot in, locking them together. Claiming Blake as hers.
Her inner alpha preened at the thoughts as a growl turned whimper tore from her throat as she came. It didn't feel good, it's not at all what she wanted.
Everything just hurt so much.
-
Yang wasn't sure how long she was there, food pushed through the slot under the door that she swiftly pushed back out. How did they expect her to eat like this? In so much pain.
It only got worse as time went on, nothing but Blake on her mind, but never quite reaching satisfaction.
She thought about Blake sprawled out on the bed under her, black hair all around her as she whined. Thought about marking every inch of skin, of taking her, filling her, knotting her. Claiming Blake inside and out.
She thought about taking her from behind like some sort of beast, having her omega begging for her knot, to be used, for more, faster, harder. Her alpha liked that fantasy in particular.
As the days went on the alpha took over, her thoughts getting more forceful. Fucking Blake without stopping, not letting up no matter how many times she comes, pushing her into overstimulation. One particularly depraved one had tears pricking at the corner of amber eyes.
That one made her stomach twist, but she wasn't in control anymore.
-
Seven days. Seven days later and her rut subsided fully, only eating on the last two when it was on the decline.
But now? Now she was on the floor, curled in the corner crying, knees to her chest. She threw the blanket as far away as she could, the shirt joining it's pile as she put her own clothes on.
She didn't deserve them, the comforting scent of Blake, not after the things she'd thought about. Hell, after the things she did, to Weiss, to Blake, the fear in her eyes is something that's going to haunt her every night.
She looked at Yang the way she had looked at Adam. That's not something she'll ever get past.
She's pulled from her thoughts by the heavy door opening, she didn't recognize the person, a beta she assumed, who just gave her a sympathetic look. He probably dealt with these things all the time, but he didn't know what went on in her head.
"Come on, let's get you back." His voice was soothing, and despite herself Yang nodded, standing to follow.
-
The beta had led her back to the dorms after a quick shower before leaving with a smile and a wave, nice of him, but it still didn't settle the swirl in her stomach. How the hell is she supposed to face them? She vaguely wonders if running away could be a valid option.
Probably not. Between all of them, and Qrow's connections, if they went to him, they had almost all of Remnant covered. Maybe she could go room with Sun in Vacuo?
No that's fucking stupid. She just has to suck it up and face them, and if they hated her... Well it wouldn't be the first time someone's left her. She'd be fine.
-
She's been standing outside the door for a few minutes and, gods, she's seriously a coward. So much for the big bad alpha. It's with a hesitant hand she reaches up and knocks lightly, which is dumb because she also lives there.
Her thoughts are interrupted as the door opens, barely having time to process before arms are wrapped around her neck and her name is shouted. "Yang! You're okay!" Ruby sounded relieved and, Yang really is stupid.
So she wraps her arms around Ruby, Pulling her close and tucking her face down. It's faint but Ruby smells like roses, she's never noticed that before. "Yeah I'm... I'm alright." She says quietly, muffled by her sister's cloak.
It's another minute that Yang holds her close before finally pulling back and Ruby has this look on her face, one Yang's only seen a few times. It's gentle and calming, almost looks off on the normally energetic girl.
"We were so worried when you didn't come back after a few days, but the nurse said it was normal." Ruby states, a bit uncomfortable at the situation, but happy her sister was back.
Yang's mind however wandered at the word we as she looked over Ruby's head. Blake and Weiss were sitting on their respective beds, just looking at her. She couldn't decipher it, and it sort of made her want to run away, that fear creeping back up, but she wouldn't. Not unless they asked her to leave.
She took a deep breath before walking into their room, but now that she was here she didn't know what to say. An apology, she should start with that.
So she turns to Weiss first because Blake... She's not sure how she's going to apologize for everything she did.
"Weiss I'm really sorry for the way I acted, I... I shouldn't have done that, obviously, and you have every right to hate me or-" Thankfully, Weiss cut off her word vomit, a soft look crossing her face.
"Yang it's okay, I understand the best out of anyone here." And Yang definitely caught what she meant by that. "My first rut wasn't a pretty sight either, so I get it. It'll be easier from now on, and you can take suppressants."
Yang nods dumbly, she hadn't expected another alpha lesson, but at least she wasn't kicking her out. "Right. Thanks."
Then Yang turned on her heel, mouth opening to apologize, but quickly snapping shut when she took in Blake's appearance. Her ears were back, dark bags under her eyes, and she wouldn't look at her.
Yang's heart shattered.
"Ruby, let's go to the cafeteria." Weiss says abruptly, dragging Ruby out the door and giving Yang a glare before it shuts.
Yang wants to move closer, but she's really not sure that she should, Blake already doesn't seem to want to be around her, so instead she sits on Weiss' bed, bringing her knees to her chest.
"I'm sorry, I know it doesn't mean much, but I am." It's quiet, but she knows Blake hears her, sees the ear twitch. "I can probably get Ozpin to put me on a different team- G-Go back to Patch for the rest of break." Her voice cracks as tears start to fall, "I- You deserve someone good, b-better than me."
Apparently that got a reaction, Blake's eyes snapping up to hers with such an intensity, this time Yang looked away. "What the hell are you talking about? Switching teams? Leaving? Why would I want that Yang?" Her voice is sharp, like a razor cutting through her.
"Blake... You looked at me the way you looked at Adam, the night I lost my arm." She managed to get words out even enough, pulling her knees closer to her chest. "You were terrified I did that to you, and then the things I thought about while I was locked in that room?" Yang shakes her head, squeezing her eyes shut. "I'm no better than him, I don't deserve you."
It was quiet for a moment, but the next time Blake spoke she was right in front of her, making her eyes snap open. "Yang Xiao Long, you are nothing like Adam." Blake's furious, she can smell it, "He never once apologized, and you're here offering to upend your life if I'm uncomfortable being around you? You think he'd do something like that?"
Yang slouches further, "But-"
"No. I was scared, but gods Yang the thought of never seeing you again makes me terrified." And then Blake's hand was resting on her cheek, it immediately drained her, the touch she'd been craving for days. Now she just wanted Blake to hold her.
"But during my rut... The things I thought about were... They were awful Blake..." Yang looks at her with fearful eyes, fresh tears forming. "The fact I could even imagine those things about you makes me sick."
Blake's lips purse before her posture straightens, "Do you regret it? Those thoughts."
Yang nods against Blake's hand, "More than anything."
"We're better than our biology, but that doesn't mean it's not going to break through when we're vulnerable." She says firmly, half tossing Yang's words back at her. "And I've had some... Less than desirable thoughts during my heats, things I'd never act on."
"So you're not mad?" Yang asks tentatively.
"Worried? Yes. But I'm not mad baby." It's soft and there's a calming scent that fills the room, immediately putting her at ease.
"I think I like it when you call me that." She mutters with a small smile, getting a chuckle out of her partner.
"Come on, you look awful, let's get you to bed." Yang snorts but quickly follows, she'd follow Blake anywhere.
The nurse hadn't been kidding, thankfully, after her rut her hormones had managed to mostly align themselves making her feel a lot more in control of her own body. The unfortunate side however, her sense of smell had finally completely developed which was... Irritating at times, especially around Cardin who had to stay for remedial lessons, but mostly around Blake.
Obviously Yang knew Blake smelt amazing, but now she can really smell her. Every emotion she expertly hides on her face drifts through the air. It's definitely something Yang could get addicted to.
She goes to Weiss, asks if she can smell it too but she shakes her head, only under extreme situations. Her example was when Ruby accidentally spilt juice on Blake's limited edition copy of Ninja's of Love, she had been furious.
Weiss offered that perhaps it was because they were mates? Yang had nodded along at the time but that didn't make sense, they weren't mates in anything more than words.
They'd never tied, they hadn't actually given each other mating marks, so were they really even mates?
They hadn't done anything since the first time, entirely by Yang's choice, she still felt guilty about her rut fantasies, and really who knew how she'd be If they actually did it. So she'd pull away whenever that delicious scent of arousal came off Blake.
It seemed however, Blake knew her fears, and decided to take it into her own hands.
Ruby had decided to go back to Patch their last week of break, she wanted to introduce Weiss to their dad. Weiss looked absolutely terrified and nothing like the alpha who'd held a snarling Yang under a glyph. It was kind of hilarious.
So that left her and Blake curled up on the bottom bunk, watching a movie on Yang's scroll. This is what Yang loved, it was like before all the alpha stuff happened, just being domestic together, holding each other.
Well it is a bit different now, now they're girlfriends. That thought still makes her a bit giddy.
"Hey Yang, can you pause it?"
"Yeah sure." She's quick to stop the video, figuring Blake had to use the bathroom. So it was with a bit of shock that Blake didn't crawl off the bed, instead crawling on top of Yang, legs on either side of her hips. "Uh... Blake?" Yang just stared up into amber eyes, something in them she couldn't quite pick out.
"I won't force you," Blake says firmly, thumbs skirting under the edge of Yang's shirt. "but I want this with you, and I know you're afraid, I can smell it, but I trust you."
Yang's heart clenches, a mix of wanting to give Blake what she asks, and fear. She doesn't know how to do this, and she doesn't want to hurt Blake...
"Blake... I want to but..." She sighs, hand going to her hips to rub slow circles. "I'm just worried."
Blake leans forward with that soft expression, inadvertently grinding down making Yang's hips jerk up. Apparently her body didn't get the message.
"We don't have to, but I want you to know that I do want it, and I'm not afraid of you." She places a quick kiss to Yang's lips before settling her full weight down, face nuzzling into Yang's neck.
Yang stared up, letting her hands just rub up and down Blake's back, her partner letting out a pleased rumble that she felt through her chest. Blake trusted her, she wants this, Yang really fucking wants it too. So why should she deprive her of it?
Yang nods, "Alright. But you might have to help me, okay?" It was embarrassing to admit, but if this was going to work she needed to be completely honest. If for nothing but her own piece of mind.
"Of course." Blake says softly, just under Yang's ear before pulling back, "We go as slow as you need okay?"
Yang just stares up, how the hell did she manage to land such an amazing partner? Yang brings her hand to Blake's cheek, she probably has that love struck look that makes Weiss roll her eyes, but she couldn't care less.
"I may have said this once or twice, but you're perfect." And then she's guiding Blake's lips to hers.
It's so soft, almost as tentative as their first, but Blake sighs into it, more than content to keep her word and go slow. Yang's the one who pushes further, tongue swiping against soft lips. Blake happily parts for her, but before she can do much more Blake rolls her hips, pulling a quiet gasp from Yang.
She was aware she's hard, and the weight on top of her, the heat through Blake's thin sleep pants was definitely not helping that. But she craves more, more of that friction, more of the feeling of Blake.
Yang's hands find Blake's hips again, pushing her own up as she pulls Blake along the length of her cock. Her desires may have started out selfish, but then Blake moans, lighting a fire deep in her stomach, every inch of her being now focused on getting more of those sounds. So every time she drags Blake back she grinds her hips, little experiments to see what gets a reaction. Almost everything she's doing does, and that makes her chest swell with pride.
"H-Hang on..." Blake manages to pant out, Yang's hands immediately stilling her hips as she looks into dark ambers. That ring of gold was hardly even there, replaced almost entirely by a void of black. "Not like this- I want to feel you."
Yang's eyes widen, and she's definitely not going to last long if this is what Blake's voice does to her. But she nods anyway, she'd do whatever her partner needed, which at this point in time was skin to skin contact. "Okay,"
Blake's off of Yang in a heartbeat, she's actually pretty sure she used a clone to move faster, but her head is fuzzy and it doesn't get any clearer as Blake starts shedding her clothes. She swallows thickly, stunned by beauty as one by one everything's discarded and her partner is sat there completely nude.
"Fuck..." She hadn't meant to say it, but fuck, Blake is gorgeous. Everything from midnight hair, cascading over her shoulders, perfect breasts with hardened nipples that Yang really wants to put her mouth on, down that perfectly toned stomach, to the apex of her legs, still closed, but Yang could feel herself throb at the mere thought.
"That's the plan." She says, confident Blake is back in full swing, and it's fucking hot. "Clothes off." It's a command Yang certainly doesn't mind following as she practically rips them off her body.
Then Blake's eyes are roaming her, lingering on her breasts, apparently she had similar thoughts, then down to her abs. Yang had always known Blake appreciated her muscles, she'd catch her staring as she moved to lift something heavy, or throw a Grimm halfway across the woods. It always ended in Weiss rolling her eyes, and Yang feeling more than a little confident in herself. Then Blake's gaze settles on her cock, finally freed, wetness dripping from the tip.
"Lay back down." Blake says softly, though the look in her eyes was anything but, still, she followed her order.
"Wait Blake, I want to make you feel good first," It's embarrassing, but she genuinely doesn't know how long she's going to last, especially not once she's inside of her.
"Shh, we aren't doing that yet." She mutters, straddling Yang's hips again, but not pressing down yet. "Do you trust me?"
Yang doesn't hesitate, nodding immediately with a, "Always." It's the absolute truth, she'd put her life in her partner's hands any day of the week. It puts that soft smile on Blake's face, Yang knew she felt the same.
With that Blake's hips lowered, not to sink down on her, but to continue what they had been doin, but this? This was an entirely different feeling. Blake was wet and hot as she started to grind along Yang's cock.
It pulled a moan from both their throats, Blake's hips jerking every time her clit rubbed the head. Yang needed a distraction because it's, a lot. "Can..." She gets momentarily distracted watching her cock sliding through Blake's lips, how easy it would be to- "Can I touch you?" Yang pants, tearing her eyes away, up Blake's body to finally meet dark ambers.
"Fuck... Yang please..." It's a whimper, but it's all she needs.
Her hands start traveling up from Blake's hips, thumb briefly rubbing the scar there. Higher, gentle pressure over her firm stomach, feeling the muscles tense with every roll of her hips, traveling all the way up to breasts. She hesitates, only for a moment, then desire takes over, wrapping her hands around them. They really are perfect.
One calloused thumb swipes over her nipple, the other being an odd texture from the pad on her right hand. Blake's head tossed back hips stuttering, grinding down harder, faster. Blake's close, but fuck so is Yang.
"Blake..." It's all she can get out, a warning she hopes Blake understands.
"Not yet... Just-" Blake cuts herself off with a particularly loud moan as Yang starts giving hardened nipples rougher treatment, pulling, twisting, as she bucks her hips.
Yang needs Blake to get off first, needs to make Blake come.
"You can do it baby," Yang tries for husky, but her breath hitches halfway through. "I want you to come on my cock." She manages a growl and a rough thrust as she grinds against her clit.
Then Blake tossed her head back, arching into her hands as her hips stutter and fuck it's the hottest thing she's ever seen. Yang can't help it, with one more roll of her hips, she comes with a loud moan of Blake's name.
There's nothing but panting for a long while as they regain their wits, Blake managing to recover first, "That was..." Yang just let out an affirmative hum, doing her best to find her voice. "Though... I didn't expect you to say that." She purrs and it makes Yang groan in embarrassment.
"It just happened."
Blake lets out a quiet chuckle, hand running up over Yang's stomach, tracing each dip of her abs making her muscles tense. "It was hot." Her voice dips and it makes Yang suck in a breath, only proving to draw in their combined scents.
"Fuck... You're unfair."
"I know." Blake seems so smug, then her hips roll again, much lighter this time making Yang whimper. "Oh, seems like you're ready to go again." She almost seems surprised, it makes Yang grin.
"Well I do have amazing stamina." She says smugly.
"You're also a giant dork." Blake counters with a laugh before rolling off of Yang, laying flat on her back beside her. "Come here."
Yang's brain wasn't exactly working the fastest, so it took her a moment to realize what Blake had meant. "You want me to?"
"I trust you Yang, I want to feel you on top of me." There's a hunger in Blake's eyes, in her words that has Yang hovering over her in a moment.
"Just tell me if you need to stop." Blake doesn't answer, just reaches up and pulls Yang's lips down to hers. It's soft, but there's a need behind it.
Then Yang runs two fingers between Blake's legs, groaning at how fucking wet she is. She'd known, she'd felt it when they were grinding, but this was different. She pulled back, just enough to watch Blake's reactions as she slowly slipped a finger in, getting a quiet moan from her partner.
Yang went slow, she didn't exactly know what she was doing, but the noises Blake made were nothing but positive. "Another one... Faster..." Yang has to ignore the heat settling in her core as she slides a second finger in meeting no resistance, gods she's wet. Yang follows Blake's orders, thrusting faster, pulling a whimper from her partner, gods she's amazing. "Curl them- Your fingers, curl them up."
She stalls for a moment, processing Blake's words before she does as she's told, crooking her fingers, feeling something different, something that makes Blake gasp. Oh, oh that's nice. She starts again, thrusting faster, curling calloused fingers on every push, making Blake's back arch as she moans.
She whimpers, it sounds like she tries to say something, but Yang takes it into her own hands, does what Blake had been doin earlier. Her thumb runs soft circles along Blake's clit, eyes carefully watching for discomfort, but there's nothing but bliss as her head tosses her head back.
Then Blake's coming around her fingers, a loud moan of Yang's name, she can't help the rumble in her chest at that thought. Luckily Blake doesn't seem to mind, walls fluttering around her as she fucks her through her orgasm, only stopping when Blake pushes at her arm.
"Wow." It's all Yang can say as she sits back, watching Blake's chest rise and fall, eyes finally opening.
"Such a way with words." It makes Yang laugh, even like this, Blake's teasing her.
"Can you blame me?" And there's a moment where Yang just looks at her girlfriend, she's like an absolute goddess below her, leaving her breathless. She'd be content staring for years, and hopefully she'd be able to, but right now she felt that hunger sneaking back in, crawling down her spine. "You ready?" Yang's shocked her voice doesn't waver, because wow, they really are about to do this.
Blake hums, looping her arms around Yang's neck, pulling her back down, that soft smile on her face, patient she notes, knowing just how nervous Yang is. "I'm ready baby, go ahead."
Yang sucks in a breath, Blake's pumping out a soothing scent that mixes with their arousal in a delicious way, before lining herself up with Blake's entrance. Then a thought manages to peek through, causing her eyes to go wide and pull back making Blake whine.
"Wait I don't-" Yang can feel her cheeks flush, but she manages to get the words out, "I don't have a condom."
Blake laughs, honest to gods laughs, it confuses Yang and sort of wounds her pride. "Sorry, you're just really sweet," Blake says leaning up for a quick kiss, "I got the implant after you presented."
Her eyes widen, oh, "Wait, before we were dating?"
Now Blake blushes, ears tilting slightly, "Wishful thinking, but I'd say it worked out."
This time Yang laughed, Blake was always ten steps ahead of her, good for battle and sex apparently. "I love you Blake."
"I love you too, but right now I need you inside me."
Yang's more than happy to finally cut to the chase, lining up and slowly pushing in. It was torture to go slow, her inner alpha demanding she just slam all the way in and take what she wants. She won't though, she'll focus on how each inch of her cock gets wrapped in warm wet heat and how it's, quite possibly, the best thing she's ever felt.
By the time their hips are flush she's panting in effort to hold back, muscles tensing as she pushes down every instinct in her. "Are you okay?" Yang manages.
"Yeah just... Just go slow at first." Blake says between breaths, the thought sounds like torture, but she nods, she'd do anything for Blake.
Yang slowly pulls back, before pushing back in at the same pace and fuck, Blake feels amazing under her, around her. She's thankful when Blake rolls her hips, groaning out a quiet, "More."
Yang didn't have to be told twice, immediately thrusting harder, pulling moans out of Blake that leave her a bit dazed. She's perfect, and Yang needs her to come undone because of her, until she can't think of anything but Yang.
The thought sends a low rumble through her chest, she almost falters at the slip in control, but then Blake is moaning below her. Yang slips a hand between them, letting her calloused fingers rub messily over her clit. It makes her back arch, clenching around Yang.
"I want you to come," Yang grunts, hips snapping forward in a particularly harsh thrust, "come around my cock, let everyone know how much you love it." Yang's voice dips, low basey, something that she's only heard come from her throat once before.
She's close, Yang can tell, she just needs something to tip her over. Instincts and pleasure yell in her ears, knowing what she has to do. So she leans forward, not letting up on her pace, her teeth scraping Blake's pulse, taking the skin in and applying pressure, but with her last shred of composure she manages to stop herself from biting.
Apparently that's all Blake needed, back arching, as her walls fluttered coming around Yang's cock, moaning her name, something that makes her alpha preen. She slows, managing not to come by the skin of her teeth, releasing Blake's neck, tongue running over the tender skin.
"Was that okay?" Yang asks, face still in Blake's neck.
Blake lets out a hum, chest still moving rapidly as she lets her hands run soothingly up and down Yang's back. "Perfect." And she honestly sounds like it was, it fills Yang with a certain pride she'd never felt before. "But why didn't you bite?"
Yang pulls back, shifting inside Blake slightly forcing her to stifle a groan as she searches amber eyes. "We didn't talk about it, that's not something you can just go back on." She mutters, "I just want to be sure you want me."
"You're an idiot." Blake actually sounded serious, ears flicking in irritation, "Who else would I want?" Yang opened her mouth to say something, eyes wide, but swiftly shut it when Blake continued. "I want you to be mine and I want to be yours. I want you to be my alpha." Yang lets out a pleased growl entirely on instinct at her words before immediately feeling guilty for the possessive behavior. "And that? It's hot. I know you're worried about it but you aren't like him, you see me as a person, okay?"
Yang feels her heart swell, it might be a bit repetitive, but she really does have the best partner in the world. "You're amazing, you know that?" She kisses her again, pouring the emotions she can't manage to say into it.
"I know, but I also know you didn't get to come," And Blake rolls her hips, making Yang's head drop with a groan. At least their heartfelt chat had brought her back from the edge, saving her from an embarrassingly quick release. "I want you to let go, show me what you've got alpha." She practically purrs next to Yang's ear, she can feel her cock twitch inside of Blake. If that's what she wants, who's Yang to deny her.
So Yang pulls back, a slight haze taking over as she watches Blake beneath her, waiting until she starts squirming, then with a growl her hips snap forward. It pulls a sharp gasp from Blake, Yang grunting every time she bottoms out.
"I'm going to make sure the whole school knows who you belong to." Yang's voice is low, foreign to her own ears as her alpha takes over, enjoying every choked noise she gets from Blake.
"Fuck!" Blake's back arches before whimpering, Yang realizing she's not reaching as far as she had been, glancing down she realizes why. Her knot had fully formed, begging for entrance, Yang instinctually grinds her hips forward before pulling back. She can't. They hadn't talked about it, she can't just- "Yang knot me- I need you alpha please," she's whining, begging, meeting Yang's every thrust trying to take what she wants.
It snaps the last of Yang's resolve, hips grinding as her knot slowly starts to stretch Blake, the girl letting out a whimper. "Such a good omega, you're taking my knot so well." She growls, mouth dangerously close to Blake's throat, like a threat and a promise.
It only takes a few more sharp thrusts until she sinks her knot in, completely filling Blake, but she gives no reprieve, teeth immediately sinking into her throat, claiming Blake. The omega screams and Yang may have been worried if she hadn't felt Blake pulsing around her cock, nails digging into her back, and finally, sharp teeth biting her own neck as she comes.
It's all too much and sends Yang soaring over the edge, it's a high she's never felt before, intoxicating and addictive as she releases into Blake. Blake's still clutching her like a lifeline, walls fluttering around her cock, milking her for all she's worth, whimpering against the hold she still has on Yang's throat.
It takes a minute to catch her breath, made harder by the fact she doesn't want to pull her mouth away, but when she does, she decides it's definitely worth it. The mark standing proud on Blake's neck, a claim that she doesn't mind as much knowing Blake has one on her too.
"You okay?" She asks, repeating the question from earlier as Blake reluctantly let's go, eyes glued to the mark.
"Amazing."
She can't help the laugh that sneaks out, "What a way with words."
Blake rolls her eyes but there's a fond smile on her face. "Can't be helped, my alpha just fucked me into the bed."
Blake's teasing, which she should have expected, but it still made a blush cross her cheeks, there was something else though, "I like when you call me that."
Blake's ears flick, head tilting to the side slightly before her brows raised in understanding. Apparently she hadn't meant to say it. "Well it's true, you're my alpha." There was a slight rumble from Yang's chest, she loved the words, maybe this sort of possessive would be okay?
"You too," Yang starts, carefully watching Blake who just nods. "You're my omega." Blake lets out a glorious noise at that, one Yang wants to hear forever.
"You know, I really don't mind it, when you're like that." Blake mutters, she sounds half asleep. "Rough, like you want to claim me. It's different because I know you love me."
"I do." Yang says immediately, lilacs firm as she stares down at Blake. "I love you more than anything." It's true, she'd lay her life down for Blake any day, she's proved it just as much as Blake has.
"As warm as you are, you're heavy, think you can flip us?" Blake asks with a small smirk.
Oh, right. They're still tied. The flush travels further, but she does as told. They're lucky Yang's strong, able to carefully turn them so Blake's on top without too much pain. Her partner's weight on her feels amazing, quickly draping a blanket over them so she doesn't get cold.
"You're perfect, you know that?" She mutters, wrapping her arms around Blake's back to just hold her close.
"So you've mentioned." Her face was in Yang's neck, nose brushing against the fresh mark, "You're not so bad yourself."
Blake fell asleep first, wrapped in Yang's warmth, a gentle purr rumbling from her to Yang's chest. It was something she'd never heard, but Blake had mentioned ages ago, something she only let out when she felt completely safe.
It filled Yang's heart, Blake felt safe with her. It helped lull her into a peaceful sleep, and for the first time since it all happened, she finds she's grateful to be an alpha.
