Dragon armor hero: Deku

Summary:

Quirks weren't the strongest, never had been.

A power lost through time finds its way back to the present.

Through constant evolution, humans were finally strong enough to wield its power.

And what better vessel than a boy destined to be a true hero.

Quirklessness may be a disadvantage, but it's not a sign of incompetence.

Chapter 1: Spread your wings

Chapter Text

Battered and bruised, Izuku lay on the concrete floor of an alley. Another day of being a public punching bag. All he ever wanted was to be a hero, but everybody saw it as a reason to beat him down.

"How unfortunate child," Izuku looked up to see a fairly muscular man in a grey trench coat.

Izuku tried to get up, but the pain prevented him. The man laughed, then kneeled beside Izuku. He pulled out a glowing metal ball. It had patterns all over it, as the outlines shined. Izuku thought it was beautiful. Unfortunately, Izuku was too injured to talk.

"I look forward to your growth child," the man placed the orb on Izuku's chest.

The orb exploded into thousands of pieces and attached itself to Izuku. Izuku felt every piece trying to burn itself into his skin, he felt whatever small muscles he had being torn apart. His visioned darkened, as the pain overwhelmed him.

He couldn't even scream.

Saiko was bored. Classes were extremely lackluster for someone as brilliant as her, even the the special classes were not challenging enough for her. Every minute spent in class was a mockery to her briliiant mind, and this charade must end.

Saiko stood up, and the bell rang. During her inner monologue, classes drifted too fast. So now, Saiko was heading home in her family Limousine. She made herself tea, as they drove home.

Upon arrival, Saiko was greeted by her parents.

"Dear, it's time we had an important talk."

Izuku woke up in the alley all alone, he managed to get up and drag himself home. He received some weird looks from strangers, must be his ruined clothes. He looked like some random beggar afterall.

When he arrived home, his mother opened the door for him. He heard her gasp, must have been surprising seeing him all beat up again. Izuku walked past his mother, mumbling that he was fine. When he arrived at his room, he immediately collapsed into his bed.

Voices rang through his head again.

It's hopeless

You can't be a hero

You're just a useless Deku

Just take a swan dive off a roof and pray for a quirk in your next life

I'm sorry, you can't be a hero without a quirk

Be realistic

All their words played back on Izuku's mind.

"It's not over yet hero, just spread your wings and fly," a warm and comforting voice spoke.

Izuku jumped out of his bed, panting and gasping for air. He looked at his clock, and saw it was 6 am on a saturday. He needed to clear his mind, so he decided to go for a walk. Izuku entered the bathroom, and began brushing his teeth. Izuku's eyes widened when he saw that his teeth were replaced with sharp canines. Looking at his whole body, he looked like an entirely different person.

Izuku would have panicked, but his mind was surprisingly calm. He ran to his room, looking for clothes that would fit. The only thing he found was an oversized Edgeshot hoodie and pair of shorts. He left the house and went to the beach he cleaned up.

Izuku was eighteen, and a year ago was the worst moments of his life. It was his final year in high school when his childhood friend told him to kill himself, it was a year ago when his favorite hero told him to give. It was a year ago when Izuku wanted to end it all, but he couldn't leave his mother alone.

Izuku cleaned dagobah beach as a way to vent. His mother moved him to a different school, but nothing really changed. At the very least, the teachers intervened. Izuku still got beat up outside the school, but he learned to live with it. He learned to live with all.

Then what was happening to him now. What happened to his body? He ran all the way here, but he wasn't tired.

"What happened!" An explosion of energy was released from his body.

Izuku panted, looking at the small crater he created. "Why now?" He dropped on his knees, eyes beginning to tear up. "After all this time, why now?" He asked noone in particular.

"You have been chosen," Izuku stood up looking around.

"Who's there?" Izuku shouted.

"Be the hero you're destined to be," the voice spoke again.

"Where are you?" Izuku shouted again.

"Be the shield the world needs."

"I'm going crazy," Izuku said to himself.

Izuku started to get irritated, and smell of ozone was starting to fill thr air. His body started to heat up, and Izuku began to panic. Metalic green scales suddenly covered his skin, and a pair of draconic metal wings materialized on his back. Energy suddenly fired from the bottom of his wings, launching him into the air.

"What the hell is going on?" Izuku shouted as he flew all over the place. The wings powered down, and Izuku began to fall. "AAAAAAAAHHHH!" Izuku screamed as he was about to fall into the water. Izuku clenched hus eyes shut, just as the wings powered up again. Izuku opened his eyes to see that he was flying over the sea.

Izuku saw his reflection and had to admit, he looked awesome. He looked like he was wearing a futuristic suit that was crossed between a dragon. The green metalic armor with a scale like pattern was mesmerizing. Izuku landed on the beach, the armor receded from his skin.

Izuku didn't know where it went, but he could feel a bundle of energy on his chest. Like a newly lit flame, waiting to be called upon. For the first time in Izuku' life. He felt free.

He could be a hero.

******

Shota Aizawa was an underground hero, so being in a meeting broad daylight was making him feel grumpy, well grumpier. A new vigilante was in town, and some heroes feel the need to make a big deal about it.

Truth be told, Shota actually liked the guy. Good fighter, could think on his feet, and gave him coffee once. Most importantly, he was very efficient.

"Settle down everyone," Nezu spoke, and all the heroes present got quiet. "We're here to discuss about the new vigilante."

"Yeah! That bastard has been a pain in the ass," Mt. Lady exclaimed.

"You only say that because he's a better hero than you," Gang orca spoke. A hero that doesn't care about the new vigilante.

"Brats these days," an elderly hero grumbled.

The heroes were clearly devided between the ones who gate the new vigilante and the ones who don't. The ones that hate the vigilante were Mt. Lady, Kamui woods, Death arms, and rookie heroes. While who didn't were Ryukyu, Hawks, Gang orca, and the UA teachers. Mirko and Gran torino just didn't want to be there.

"Shall we discuss what we know of this vigilante?" Nezu spoke, and the majority nodded. "Let's discuss the obvious part. Evidently, he has dragon type quirk with gas based emitter ability," Nezu explained.

"He also has enhanced strength and speed," Eraser added.

"But all that could be considered a part of his armor," Ryukyu suggested.

"Armor?" Mt. Lady asked.

Ryukyu sighed. "The armor he's wearing obviously, it looked more metalic than actual scales," Ryukyu explained.

"Then what would be his quirk?" Kamui woods asked.

"The sleeping gas perhaps," Gang orca suggested.

"That could be added to his armor," Hawks interjected.

"That's some armor, can't wait to beat it off him," Mirko exclaimed.

"Then what's his quirk?" Mt. Lady asked again.

"If he has one," everyone turned to Gran torino. "All you brats think about is quirks," the elderly hero grumbled.

"So he's some random dude with hightech suit," Hawks summarized.

"We're not sure yet," Eraser head spoke.

"What we do know, is that he's powerful. And we'd rather have him on our side," Nezu began. "It's best to have him get registered officially."

An argument broke out about whether the vigilante should be registered or locked up. It all ended on who could find the guy first, which was pretty much the hard part. The guy only shows himself when he wants to, which was quite rare.

The only heroes present that have met tge vigilante were Eraser head, Hawks, and Midnight. The latter was actually asked for tips on how to use sleeping gas, the kid had balls to do that as a vigilante.

Izuku was having the time of his life. Being able to fly was amazing, he felt so free. Izuku flew over the city, getting a few waves from people. Izuku was surprised that the people actually like him even though he was vugilante, maybe they didn't know?

He dropped down on a rooftop, and began writing on his notebook. He made himself his own special page after all.

Green dragon armor(needs a better name)

Gives enhanced strenth, speed, and durability.

Abilities:
Poison gas (Can be altered to become a sleeping gas)
Acid shot (Can be adjusted)
Venom claws

Their were multiple theories that he wanted to test, but he needed willing test subjects for that. Not exactly a safe thing to do, but he also had many alternatives. But the main thing Izuku wanted to improve was Dragon energy.

It was what Izuku named the energy that his body suddenly manifested. Izuku was sure it came from the magic ball the man put into his chest, but he wanted some more proof. He flipped to its page.

Dragon energy

A stockpile of energy
Fuels the dragon armor

Abilities:

Boost physical abilities
Minor healing
Measures other people's strength

Izuku wondered what other things he can do with it, he barely scratched the surface of it after all.

Momo was wondering around the area. She just took the recommendation exam yesterday, and wanted to explore the area. Walking along the area, she found a book cafe. Momo loved books, so she went inside. The place seemed very popular, considering the number of customers.

Momo checked in at the counter and was given a wristband. She scannned through the books and found a rather interesting romance novel, which she brought with her to look for a table. A waitress asked her if she was okay with sharing a table since the place was packed, Momo didn't mind sharing.

The waitress brought her to a two seat table where a green haired teenager was seated. Momo sat down and ordered some tea, the green haired guy didn't seem to notice her. Momo began reading the novel she chose, while the waitress brought her order.

An hour passed and Momo decided to take a break, she placed the book down and stretched a bit. The guy didn't seem to stop at any point. Momo noticed he was reading about... birds? Definitely an interesting choice.

This was probably the first time someone actually ignored her completely, it felt strange. Momo also noticed that he was at last page of the book. 'He actually read through it all' Momo thought as the guy closed the book.

"O-oh... hello?" He actually stuttered.

"Oh hello as well," Momo realized she was actually staring.

"W-were you there the whole time?" He really just noticed, that made Momo feel weird.

"For an hour actually, you seemed very immersed in that book," Momo pointed at the book he was holding.

"Well... um...," he scratched the back of his head.

"Do you have a flight quirk?" Momo asked.

"N-no I just... dream of flying?" He answered.

"I see."

They had a pretty long conversation with him suggesting some other places, and Momo answering questions about her quirk. Another hour passed and they decided to leave.

"It was nice meeting you Midoriya-kun," Momo handed him a piece of paper.

"T-to you as well Yaoyorozu-san," Midoriya bowed before accepting the paper.

"Please message if you want to discuss about other things, I quite enjoyed our talk," Momo said as a limo arrived.

"O-oh thank y-you," Midoriya bowed again.

It was time for Izuku to test the new flight maneuvers he read about. Izuku began running on a rooftop, jumping on the very edge. The armor materializing over his body.

He spread his wings and flew.
