Chapter Text

Taeyang had been laying his eyes on that boy since he sat down in the dining.

It was the first day of his third year in Hogwarts, but apparently they came in later than the freshmen.
It has always been like this, that the newbies need more time to be sorted and settled down into the magic academy, a brand new start of their lives.
He was with Seokwoo the whole train trip here, and now as the tall boy rushed to the plates full of French toasts and grilled sausages, he saw someone in the middle of the hall, and basically couldn’t move his eyes away for a hot sec.

To tell the truth he only saw the back of the said boy, but as he was talking to a friend walking next to him, Taeyang saw his profile. Nothing else he could say but that he was so pretty. Long silky hair dyed into a hazel color, lips glossing a healthy cute pink color, and his eyes are round and big——and had winkles growing out from the corner when he laughed. Cute, definitely adorable.
Taeyang slowly sat down next to Seokwoo, eyes still straying to the boy who just got to a seat, too, with his friend. He was not wearing his robe, only the dark shirt under, and no tie; but the boy next to him is all dressed up in school uniforms, looking like a model student all the professors here will love, and Taeyang can see the innerlining of his robe flashing the bright sapphire color. So they could be in the same House.

But then a moment later, both of the boy turned sideway and sat down at the bench, quite close to them actually, allowing him to see the patch ironed onto his school shirt——oh, a Slytherin.
Taeyang lifted one brow while he stuff a piece of toast into his mouth, still glancing over to the freshmen; Slytherins are all a bit weird, so that kinda hard to approach; These are only just the old stereotypes, he knew, and he would say them Ravenclaws are weirdos, too.

Taeyang didn’t want to admit that on the very first day back he’s been crushing over some random cute Slytherin. But he sure tripped hard. Sort of.

“What’s up with you?” Seokwoo poked him, mumbling with still some food in his mouth, “You were whining the whole way on the train saying you were starved, and now you are chewing like a turtle. ”

“I wasn’t, I just mentioned it twice. ”Taeyang pulled back his glance, “plus I’m not such a fanatic toward the food here as you are, they are just a bit heavy that I got half fed only by inhaling their smell. ”

“You love the toast though. ”Seokwoo pointed out, shrugged, “who are you staring at anyway? ”

“Wha…I’m not staring at anyone?? ”Taeyang almost jumped as he got caught.

“You definitely are. ”Seokwoo waved a fork in front of his face, and grinned, “I don’t have the hawk eyes but you are so obvious. ”

“Shut up you cub. ”Taeyang blushed a bit and dived back into his plate. Seokwoo looked at him a moment longer with that grin, then tilted his head trying to trace the Ravenclaw’s stare from earlier, “Are they freshmen? ”

“I think so. ”Taeyang said.

“Oh my god you are eyeing on some babies here. ”Seokwoo gasped, and laughed when the blushing Taeyang punched him on the arm, “Wait but which one, tell meeeeee, I wanna know!! ”

“There is no one! ”Taeyang lowered his voice, staring at Seokwoo to ask him to do the same: they sat so close to the boy he looked at they might hear them with Seokwoo’s excited burst.
He threw a fruit tart over to Seokwoo’s face, as a joke to make him shut his mouth; and it turned out to be a mistake.

Everything just got a little dramatic when Seokwoo laughed so loud as if he was a crow and moved to avoid the tart attack, and Taeyang might have just put in a bit too much force into the throw.
The tart flew right pass the tall boy and dropped onto someone’s dark silky shirt, just sitting on the row next to them a few feet away.

Taeyang almost screamed as he felt dead inside, when the victim turned looking confused and shock, and the beautiful eyes met with Taeyang’s.

“Oh my god I’m so sorry——” Now it didn’t matter if that was exactly the boy he just crushed on, Taeyang rushed to him and handed over a paper towel, “I was… I’m sorry, I didn’t aim you. ”

“It’s… okay? ”The boy still looked confused, but luckily not at all angry. Taeyang proceeded to apologize again, and offered, “I can take the shirt and wash it for you, or whatever I can do, if you think that’s fine. ”

“Oh, I think I can do that myself. ”The boy blinked, his pretty face looking so innocent Taeyang almost melted into a puddle inside, “but if that makes you feel better, sure. ”

“Eh I really didn’t mean it. ”Taeyang sighed, staring at the splash of cream on the back of his shirt, “You can tell I’m definitely not into Quidditch. ”

Then the boy laughed, so soft that Taeyang felt like he was walking on a pile of marshmallow just by a mere look. The wrinkles that stretched out from his eyes when he laughed were the most, gorgeous, things, ever.

So then they agreed on going back to the boy’s dorm after the meal, for him to get changed (the Rawenclaw would need to wait outside their lounge, to be more specific), so that Taeyang could take his shirt back to laundry.

Sitting back to his plate of food, Seokwoo, who was the one to blame (Taeyang insisted) and has been quiet the whole time, pressed closer, “IS IT HIM? ”

“WHAT. ” Taeyang froze, but tried not to show it.

“You are literally as red as my robe. ” Seokwoo shrugged, “You are always so obvious that it’s almost cute. ”

Taeyang wanted death. And Seokwoo has to accompany him to hell.
