Chapter 1: Super Vacay

Chapter Text

“Hurry up, Mom! Everyone else has already left!” Trunks shouted from the doorway of the house.

“I’m coming! Mama just needed to grab her new hat, right Princess?” she booped her daughter’s nose as she spoke to her and the girl giggled. Bulma wore a sarong with shades of blue and purple around her hips, the colors swirling and blending to make beautiful indigos. The fringe along the sides of the fabric swayed with her hips as she sauntered down into the front room landing. She was sporting a simple black string bikini with her sarong that made her creamy skin look porcelain and her cropped hair pop as it framed her face and sapphire eyes.

The girl cooed at her mother, making a grab for her black designer oversized sun hat. She flicked off the lights, grabbed the baby bag on the counter, and typed the security code for the compound in. The mother of two took a quick peek at her appearance in the full length mirror she kept by the front door to give herself the once over. Her reflection smirked back.

Bulma Briefs’ still got it!

“Alright, let’s get this beach day show on the road kids!” Bulma exclaimed as she gave her home a final check before shutting the front door. She made her way to the clearing in front of the compound where Vegeta waited, arms crossed. He was dressed in a simple pair of dark blue swim shorts and a black button down collared shirt, but Vegeta always had a flair for making the simple look devine. Gods, he could make a burlap sack look scandalous...Bulma thought to herself as she checked her husband out.

He was leaning his hip on a light purple, medium sized hover jet. The jet was a luxury sport model with a trunk area and enough room to fit the family of four if needed. Bulla had a car seat waiting in the middle backseat with the family’s bags and snacks packed around in the passenger’s seats. All manner of beach equipment was stacked to the side of the jet; from coolers and umbrellas, to beach toys and chairs.

“Finally.” The Prince grouched, rolling his eyes when Bulma stuck her tongue out at him.

“You could have left with the others, you know.”

“I had to make sure you delivered my daughter safely. I know what kind of pilot you are.”

“Oh please! That was one time like 8 years ago and it was only property damage!” Bulma glared at him as she pulled the capsule case out of the tote on her shoulder. She removed two capsules, pressed the buttons on the top and threw them in the direction of their beach equipment and coolers. The items disappeared in a cloud of smoke and Trunks handed her the capsules from the ground. Bulma placed them back in their case and returned the case to her tote bag, shifting Bulla on her hip as she did so.

Vegeta rolled his eyes again as he opened the back passenger door so Bulma could strap Bulla into her car seat. His wife stuck her tongue out at him again, throwing in a middle finger for emphasis, and Vegeta smirked. He appreciated the way the piece of fabric she wore around her waist accentuated her womanly curves and the hues that ran throughout it complemented her cerulean locks. Trunks was busy sifting through the snacks that his mother had packed away in the passenger’s seat up front to keep his rumbling belly satisfied for the trip. As Bulma was bent over buckling up Bulla, Vegeta ran his hand up outside of her right leg and cupped her ass cheek, groping as he got to the meat at the juncture of her thigh and glute. She stopped mid clicking a buckle and peaked over her shoulder at the Saiyan. Bulma smiled and raised her brow at him flirtatiously.

She finished fastening and tightening the straps and moved to back up, bumping into Vegeta with her rear. Vegeta’s eyes flashed with heat, but he stepped out of his wife’s way. He adjusted himself as she narrowed her cerulean eyes at him.

“I take it you like my new bathing suit and sarong?” Bulma said in a sultry voice, stepping toward him and sliding her hand from the collar to the hem of his shirt. Vegeta’s ears turned pink and he looked away, huffing as he crossed his arms again.

“Let’s go, boy! Put the chips down!” he barked, getting antsy under his wife’s gaze as she giggled. Trunks’ head popped out from inside the car, munching happily on a handful of wasabi pretzels.

“Mk dahd.” Trunks wiped his hands on his swim shorts and gave his father the thumbs up. Vegeta gave a signature ‘tch’ and blasted off to wait in the sky for his son and wife to catch up. Bulma started up the hover jet and ran through her pre-flight checklist, giving her son a smile and a nod when she was ready. The lavender hover jet whirred into action and took off; Trunks followed behind his mother’s craft through the clear blue, warm summer sky.

Vegeta led the way to the private island the Briefs’ owned two hours off the coast of West City. He and Bulma would take getaways to the secluded island when she was feeling particularly stressed from work or he would come home from a long stint of training with the deities. This particular time, though, his loving wife had decided to throw a get together with all of the Z fighters after the Tournament of Power. She had even gone so far as to allow them to stay on the island for the night if they liked in one of the handful of bungalows that the Briefs had built.

Vegeta winced. He didn’t despise the group of earthlings that constituted his ‘friends’, but he also didn’t particularly like ‘hanging out’ with them, either. Of course, he and his family would be staying the night; Panchy and the Doctor had already been there enjoying some time together for the past three nights. Panchy had told Bulma yesterday morning that they were planning a large barbeque for later this afternoon. Vegeta’s mouth watered at the thought of Panchy’s BBQ’d pork buns and beef ribs. He glanced over his shoulder to check on the progress of his son, wife and daughter.

Trunks was flying upside down about 10 yards behind him and he could see Bulma’s craft 40 yards behind that going a steady speed. He scanned his family’s ki and could tell Bulla was beginning to get fussy, probably getting hungry for a mid morning snack. As the flight continued he felt his child’s ki calm and slowly drift to sleep at about the halfway mark.

Vegeta continued the steady pace to the island. He felt the other Z fighters’ kis up ahead as the fluff of clouds he was shooting through opened up to a clear ocean with a smattering of land in the distance. Seems we are ‘fashionably late’ as Bulma would say...he mused, changing his flight path to a slow descent as the island became clearer. He could make out the lush greens of the shrubbery, trees and ferns. Bright pops of color ranging from oranges, reds, and pinks; to purples and blues littered throughout the vegetation as jungle flowers bloomed. His keen nose picked up the different perfumes wafting up from below as he and his family approached.

He changed course and flew to the left, going toward a landing pad on a peppley beach where three other hover jets of various sizes and hues sat. Vegeta righted himself and glided to the ground to land on his feet in his signature arms crossed stance, while Trunks sped past the landing pad in the direction of the family Son’s ki.

“See ya, Dad!!” Trunks exclaimed, a burst of wind rustling Vegeta’s spiked mane as he flew past.

Off to find Goten, I assume…

He turned as he felt the air from the engines of Bulma’s craft brush against his skin. She expertly lowered and parked her aircraft, winking at her husband as she powered the engines down.

“And you were worried about my excellent flight skills.”

Vegeta rolled his eyes again, something he had a feeling he would be doing a lot over the course of their getaway with the others. Bulma unclipped and snagged a groggy Bulla from her car seat, placing a hand on her husband’s shoulder to lean in to whisper in his ear.

“Are you going to be able to contain yourself until tonight, Bad Man?” She slid her hand from his shoulder, down the curve of his muscled back, to his ass and pinched. Vegeta jumped slightly and peeked around as his cheeks reddened.

“Are you, woman??”

Bulma chuckled as she sauntered away in front of him, Bulla beginning to tug on her hat and hair in a hungry fit. Vegeta let her lead the way, grumbling about vulgarity as they made crunchy steps up the beach to where the compound of bungalows and their friends awaited.

“Hey Bulma! Hey Vegeta!” Goku waved at the couple as they approached. He was in a pair of orange swim shorts with large yellow hawaiian flower print all over them. A signature goofy smile split his face as he took a large bite of what looked like a breakfast burrito.

The gang was gathered around a large community patio area, complete with two separate BBQ pits and smokers. The smokers were going already as smoke billowed up from the chimneys. The smell of spiced meat and veggies wafted from the pits and Vegeta’s stomach growled in response. As if Panchy had a sixth sense for his appetite, she called a greeting to her family and waved them over to a table.

“Brunch is ready you guys! Come take a seat and I will fix you all up with a plate!”

Bulma smiled at her mother as she walked up to embrace her with one arm and give her a sweet kiss on the cheek. She passed Bulla to her grandmother, who immediately covered the giggling girl in kisses and took her to a high chair.

“Thanks Mom! This looks great! You even made mimosas!” she snagged a glass and the pitcher to pour herself one as Vegeta gave her a pointed look. She stuck out her tongue again as 18 chuckled at another table to the left. The blonde bombshell was also enjoying a mimosa as she watched Marron play with Pan at the playground out about 50 yards from the patio area. ChiChi sat at the table with 18 nursing her own beverage, looking up at Trunks and Goten while they played ‘super tag’ in the air above the playground. The other Z fighters were milling about the brunch buffet table her mother had set up. Once everyone had plates piled high and said their hellos to the newly arrived Briefs family, they took their seats and dug in.

Yamcha, Puar, Tein, Chiotszu, and Roshi sat at one table together; stuffing their faces and catching up. ChiChi, Goku, Krillin and 18 were at another table with empty chairs for the children strewn about, as the kids were far too busy to sit still and eat. Bulma took the seat next to Videl with Gohan on the other side, politely eating his plate piled high with a breakfast spread fit for a king.

“Wow! Mom really didn’t skimp on anything, did she?” Bulma mused, watching as Gohan shoved what looked like his third eggs benedict in his mouth.

“Nope! There’s an omelette station too.” Videl noted, munching happily on a serving of buttery waffles with fresh strawberry reduction on top.

Panchy set a plate of pancakes topped with peanut butter and bananas and a side of fresh fruit in front of Bulma and the bluenette smiled brightly at her mother for remembering her favorites.

“I could never forget my Princess’ breakfast order!” the blonde chirped happily, kissing the top of her daughter's head. “I just gave Vegeta a plate full of Bulla’s favorites too!”

Bulma turned to find Vegeta under the shade of an umbrella with a full plate in his hand, feeding bite-fulls of scrambled egg, bacon and sausage to Bulla in between his own bites; a small smile on his face. There was already an empty plate on the table next to them as Bulla gurgled and happily ate her food. The girl’s eyes never left her father as he showed her how to use the fork. Vegeta’s black button down was well tailored and hugged his muscular frame just right, emphasizing the deadly power contained in his body. Bulma could see the flex of his triceps and forearm muscles as he moved the fork from the plate to Bulla’s mouth and back again.

Anxious to try and feed herself, the girl smacked the fork out of Vegeta’s hand and to the ground. He kneeled down to grab it and Bulma watched the muscles in his traps, obliques and back shift under the shirt. She followed the lines of his muscles to his perfectly sculpted ass and went braindead. Vegeta grabbed the spoon from the ground and whipped his head around to pierce her with his gaze, smirk on his face. Bulma stared back, heat in her cheeks as her mouth watered. She distantly heard some conversation from Yamcha and Krillin about a volleyball game and jerked her head in their direction at the sound of her name.

“Hey Bulma, you guys have a beach volleyball court set up here don’t you? We should play some while we wait for the smokers to be done. What do you say?” Krillin asked.

“I’m pretty sure there’s a court set up down at the beach in front of the main compound by the dock.”

“Awesome! Who wants to play some?” Goku asked, throwing the remains of this fourth breakfast burrito in his mouth quickly.

“Hold up, this better not turn into another croquet incident." Bulma set her mimosa down roughly and stomped up to him with a purpose. "There are still divets in my lawn, Goku! And it took a week to fix the sprinkler system!” Bulma huffed up at him, finger tapping into her oldest friend’s chest. He smiled jovially, hand scratching behind his head.

“No funny business, Bulma! Promise!”

Bulma gave him a skeptical look, but hit a button on her smartwatch to call a bot to her location.

“Bot 347, please coordinate a clean up crew for the breakfast spread and tend to the smokers for Mom while we head to the beach for a bit. Thanks!”

The mothers all moved to gather their children while the others finished their food and grabbed some towels for the beach. Once the towels were laid out and the capsules of beach equipment were unpacked, the gang began divvying up into teams.

“Alright, so me, Yamcha, Krillin, and 17 will be on one team. 18, Piccolo, Gohan, and Vegeta can be on the other!” Goku exclaimed, counting everyone off on his fingers.

“Bold of you to assume I want to play this stupid game, Kakarot.” Vegeta scowled at Goku. He was holding Bulla while Bulma finished laying out the beach blanket and setting up the umbrella.

“Aw c’mon Vegeta! We won’t have even teams if you don’t play.” Goku pouted. Vegeta gave him a ‘tch’ and turned away to set his daughter down. “Or are you afraid I’ll beat you again, like I did in croquet?”

Vegeta’s eyes went wide as his brows shot up. He stood and turned to face Goku, who had a smug smile on his face. Vegeta strode up to Goku, vein bulging in his forehead.

“Listen here, asshat, you did not beat me. My wife would no longer let us play and you happened to have a higher score than me at the time!”

“Then put your money where your mouth is.”

“Fine! You’re on!”

Vegeta stalked away as Goku smirked behind him. Too easy...
