Trophy

Summary:

SVU 500 Word Fic Challenge - Sept 2: trophy

This is rpf so if you're not into that kind of thing, don't read it. The rules for the challenge said something about only posting on the day for that word, but I got sidetracked from this one for a few days so I'm not tagging the challenge but I still wanted to post it because I loved the idea. Inspired by the 2010 Emmy Awards, obviously.

Work Text:

He slid his hand down the soft, creamy fabric, tracing her outline. Now that they were away from the stage lights and cameras he could look all he wanted. She’d been glowing the entire evening, hanging off his arm and whispering jokes about their anniversary. By the time they’d made it to the party, their hands were all over each other. They’d both had a few and managed to cover up anything obvious with his rosy cheeks and her laugh, posing for pictures together like a just married couple.

But when the hotel room door closed, all bets were off. If the air was electric before, it became palpable. She removed the flowers and pins from her hair and shook it until long, supple strands danced across her shoulders. He reached out and caressed her cheek as her earring baubled against his sensitive skin. She shivered in anticipation as his hand made its way across her collarbone and around her shoulder - all of their senses heightened now.

She leaned in, placing her hand on his crisp white shirt and trailing a single finger down the row of buttons. When she reached his jacket she slowly undid these and peeled the layer off his arms, the fabric dropping quietly to the floor behind him. His hands left her skin reluctantly to untie his bow tie. He was actually waiting to remove her dress, which left almost nothing to the imagination, and anyway, he knew what was waiting for him underneath. This wasn’t the first - or the last - time they’d play-act like this.

They didn’t need to say a single word. Once his shirt and pants had joined the jacket and bowtie on the floor, she moved towards him, fitting her body perfectly against his chest. He wrapped his arms around her waist and slowly unzipped the back of her dress. Sliding the dress down gently, he held her in place against his flushed skin. Goosebumps prickled his arms and his chest tightened as her dress fell away and her golden skin finally touched him.

With her skin pliable against his rock-solid muscles, her hand found his all on its own and she linked her fingers through his as he leaned in, placing a row of delicate kisses across her chest. Her thumb caressed the top of his as she nestled in to his neck, which still smelled of aftershave and his unique scent that felt so familiar to her. He brought her hand up to his mouth and touched each dark fingernail to his lips one by one.

Not wanting to break the contact between their bodies, he directed her toward the bed and laid her back on it with a tender, supportive motion. Her hands raised above her head, she trusted his every move. Chris hovered above her for a moment, admiring every inch of her radiant skin. He’d found he didn’t need another award in his whole career. He had the only trophy he’d ever wanted right here.
