Work Text:

Strolling through Prague as the afternoon sun hung heavily on the horizon, painting everything it touched a golden hue, it was all too easy to imagine that he was just another tourist. Feeling the six-hundred-year-old cobblestone beneath his feet as he walked among the ghosts of a gothic city toward a medieval town square, it was easier still to imagine that he was another man in another time with another prerogative. A knight campaigning for his country or his lady. A scholar studying the mysteries of the universe. A lovesick man on his honeymoon with the love of his life.

A sharp gust of December wind brought him back to the present from the haze of his thoughts. Kylo was none of those things. Neither a hero nor a lover. He was a villain. He knew his role and he played it well. There was no finer professional than Kylo in his chosen field. He had an impeccable resume written in blood. Throughout the darkest circles known to the vilest of clientele, Kylo stood tall and alone at the top, the apogee of merciless determination and ruthless finality.

Kylo walked through the crowd that grew thicker as he neared the Old Town Square. A tall, dark, severe figure in a black suit that was tailored as sharply as his features, complete with a matching black wool pea coat and leather gloves to fight against the winter chill. Looking around casually as his thick hair rustled in the wind, Kylo pretended to be nothing more than another passerby, taking in the sights of the iconic city. He admired the statutes of angels, martyrs, and heroes that watched him from above, casting their silent judgement down upon him.

At the corner of the square, the crowd gaped up with a singular mind at the large medieval astronomical clock. Reaching three stories above the cobblestone, three vibrantly colored dials marked the minutes and hours, in addition to the relative positions of the sun and moon before Death himself struck the bell at the top of the hour.

Truly beautiful, Kylo mused to himself, sparing a glance up at the clock. And how fitting.

A sea of faceless heads were all turned likewise upward in unison at the oldest working astronomical clock in the world, mesmerized by the ancient display, providing Kylo with the perfect distraction as the clock struck the top of the hour.

Death tolling the bells was to be your eulogy. The clock’s commanding tones would easily cover the soft puff from his silenced Desert Eagle .44, the handgun that Kylo’s right hand reached for within his jacket, nestled inside his black leather shoulder holster.

Kylo had followed you for some time that day. A shadow trailing behind you, one of the city’s many wraiths. He had watched the back of your trench coat flutter in the breeze and your hair moving with its gentle caress. He stayed far enough behind you so you would never suspect his presence, but just close enough for the wind to carry the exotic scent of your perfume back to him.

He had never seen your face. No picture accompanied your file. Not that he needed one. He only needed to know the name your room was booked under to find you easily enough. Your bounty was a king’s ransom, one of the highest Kylo had known. You must have done something exceptionally intriguing to acquire such a price tag.

Until the moment that death struck the hour that early winter afternoon in Prague, you were just another target, the prey that he was stalking for no better reason than the Agency had directed it only a few days ago. A mark to knock off a list. A list that Kylo curated more impeccably than any other in his field.

As Kylo’s hand found the grip of his pistol, you turned to look at him. Your shining eyes met his dangerous amber gaze, as if directed to his eyes by the ghosts of the city. He was close to you now. Close enough to see the light glimmer in your eyes. The beauty of your penetrating stare froze Kylo in his motion. Your beauty was greater and more timeless than any marble sculpture contained in this ancient city. He had never been so stricken by a physical blow, let alone a look from a stranger.

Hesitation was an inaction that could get a man killed in Kylo’s profession. Kylo had never before hesitated, paused in the completion of his mission. His hesitation now allowed him to see death coming for you on swift wings. Not from his hand, but from behind you.

Only a highly trained and deeply experienced eye would have seen the brief flash of carbon behind you. The faint glint of sunlight catching on moving gunmetal, as a pistol was drawn from a pocket.

Kylo’s eyes locked on the gun instantly, pulling him violently from his momentary reverie back into the harsh cold of his world.

Kylo knew in that flash of gunmetal, as the clock chimes rang through the square, what he had to do.

Until the moment that death struck the hour, Kylo’s record was pristine. Not one blemish tarnished his history of ‘settled cases’ that would make the Grim Reaper himself envious. He was a professional, the very finest of professionals.

Kylo knew in that fraction of a heartbeat that to see you, his mark, die before him now would entrap him in your steely gaze forever. Condemn him to a lifetime of nightmares and regrets that he would forever see reflected in your shining eyes during his sleepless nights.

Unlike Kylo’s handsome towering figure, the man behind you had been too small and impish to draw your attention.

As the man pulled his pistol, swinging it toward your back, Kylo drew his faster. His eyes were cold and focused, his aim perfect, when he extended his long arm, bringing his sights to a point just beside your head.

You flinched, too late to make a difference, as the metallic crackle of a bullet cutting through the air sizzled by your ear. The resounding thwack of the same bullet connecting with meat pulled your head around to look behind you at the small man who collapsed to the ground, a trickle of blood pulsing from his forehead.

Before any emotion, even shock, could register, a huge hand closed around your upper arm like a vice. You were pulled roughly away by the looming man in black, whose gun had disappeared back into the depths of his coat.

A voice, deep and rich, commanded low in your ear, “They’re like roaches. If there’s one, there’s more. Come with me. Now.”

In the span of a heartbeat, Kylo had redefined his profession from the Angel of Death to that of your personal Guardian Angel.

Your frightened eyes shot to the man’s aquiline profile and the raised scar that ran the length of his face, trailing from above his eyebrow down over his sculpted cheek and jaw to disappear below his collar. His attention was fixed purposely ahead, scanning your surroundings, while he strode briskly through the crowd with you held tight to his side.

“Compose yourself,” he ordered brusquely. “You panic, you die.”

As he pulled you through the mass of blissfully unaware people, you let his enormous calloused hand slide down to your wrist, leading you out of the square toward a narrow side street, winding between the medieval buildings.

Half jogging to keep pace with him, questions formed in your mind as quickly as you decided against asking them in the moment.

A rough shove caught you off guard, as the large man slammed your body against the building to your side. Stepping in front of you in the same motion, he unveiled a gun in each hand, drawn from within his coat, firing almost simultaneously at two men camouflaged as tourists who suddenly sported handguns trained on you.

His hulking body blocked yours, as he sent bullets sailing through the heads of the two attackers. Their heads jerked backward in unison as their bodies crumpled to the ground. You faintly heard the thud of the bodies hitting the cobblestone and scrape of metal as their guns skipped away from their dead hands along the ground.

The man’s hand reached to the back of your neck, pulling you beside him in an iron grip, ready to shove your head down at the sight of danger. The man handled you with no more difficultly than he would a doll. You could feel the sheer power coursing through him as he pulled you beside him.

Kylo weaved through the maze of pedestrian-only cobblestone streets until he spotted the Ponte Carlo archway leading to the Charles Bridge, away from the Town Square.

Looking upward and ahead he paused for only an instant, his brow furrowing and a growl that you felt more than heard rumbling in his thick chest. Abruptly changing course, he pulled you into an alley that branched from the street. The smell of damp stone filled your nose, as you quickly walked through the narrow pathway.

“What’s going on?” You asked as quietly as you could through panted breaths.

“They’re waiting for you at the archway to the Charles Bridge. I saw at least two men near the arch and one just past it on the bridge,” the man told you huskily. “Hitmen.”

“Hitmen?!” You hissed incredulously. “What are you talking about? How would you even know that?”

“Believe me.” He looked down at you with a grim smirk. “I’d know.”

“And who exactly are you?” You tried to keep your voice level, fighting the urge to scream at the man and your predicament.

“Kylo Ren.” He offered nothing further, as if that was all the explanation you would ever require.

He cut suddenly into a dark passageway and knocked on a nondescript wooden door, rapping a patterned code with his knuckles. You heard what sounded like locks being undone when the door opened, and you were admitted inside.

A lanky ginger haired man wearing a bespoke suit and a pinched expression stood behind the door. He paid your dark savior no mind, but his eyes widened when they found yours, darting from you to the man at your side.

“Not a single fucking word.” Kylo silenced his pending inquiry with a thick gloved finger held up to the man’s face in a warning.

Kylo led you down a flight of stairs, the redhead following behind you.

The room you entered was large and musty, crowded with shelves and artifacts. Appraising your surroundings, you observed rows of dimly lit display cases and shelves filled with odd looking items. The contents of many looked medieval, composed of antiquated wood and rusted steel.

Are those thumbscrews? You wondered. Is that a medieval rack?

“We’re inside Prague’s Museum of Medieval Torture Instruments,” Kylo informed you over his shoulder, as you followed behind him. “In its basement. A form of hiding in plain sight, if you will. A convenient safe house, right in the center of town.”

An ornate orb seated on a silk pedestal caught your eye. “Do I even want to ask what that is?”

“No,” he answered, deep and certain, without turning to look back at you.

His friend, however, eagerly piped, “One of my personal favorites. The rectal/vaginal pear. It expands quite nicely and pointedly once inside a host.”

“Charming.” You wrinkled your nose at the image.

At the very back of the long room, Kylo used a modern keypad to open a heavy medieval looking door complete with iron studs. Holding out a powerful arm, he gestured you inside in a show of decorum ill-suited to the environment.

As the door closed with an electronic hiss behind the three of you, you noticed a wooden desk holding a sleek computer and stacks of papers. A large worktable sat against a wall. Scattered across its surface was numerous black tactical paraphernalia.

Against the back wall was something you recognized. A hulking somber figure in the shape of a sarcophagus, cast in black iron and adorned with spikes that ran the length of its body below an expressionless mask. An iron maiden. The double doors of which were opened, displaying its contents. It was a weapons case. Instead of medieval implements, it was filled with a myriad assortment of modern handguns, rifles, shotguns, knives, and explosives. An arsenal fit for waging a small war.

“Who are you?” You asked again, taking in the sight of the glimmering gunmetal and the faint smell of gunpowder and oil.

“I told you my name.” Kylo moved to stand beside you, looking inside the iron maiden himself. “In addition to that, I am the man who has taken it upon himself to save your life. There are no other details about me that matter.”

You cocked an eyebrow at him, wanting more.

“The more important question, Miss Y/L/N, is who are you?” Kylo’s tone was almost marveled, as he crossed his massive arms over his chest, eyeing you with interest. “Who are you that you’ve drawn the attention of so many professionals? Why do such powerful people want you dead?”

“Not that anyone seems to care about my involvement here,” the ginger almost whined. “But I know the answer to that. It’s been all over the channels.”

“I’m pleased to see you doing your job for once, Hux,” Kylo replied coolly. “I could use some intel on this account.”

“Account?” You raised your eyebrows high, your hands moving to your hips.

Hux eyed you before continuing with a sneer on his lips. “She’s accomplished something even you haven’t, Ren. She’s gotten an in with the head of the Agency. She knows the head of the Agency himself.”

“Spit it out, Hux,” Kylo snarled. “I don’t appreciate your little games, even when I have the time for them.”

“She’s his ex,” Hux said smugly, tilting his chin up at the taller man. “She got too close. Learned something big about him it sounds like. Something that’s worth a lot of money to keep under wraps.”

Excuse me?” You took an angry step toward the ginger. “That’s absurd.”

Kylo stepped between you and the smaller man, looking down at you.

“It’s an open contract?” Kylo’s eyes were locked on yours when he directed his question to Hux.

“Open. Across all agencies.” Hux confirmed. “The message has been delivered to all the top professionals, too.”

Kylo’s jaw clenched tight at the information, the only indication he heard it at all. His eyes remained steady, bourdon-tinged and predatory as they bored into yours. You could almost hear the gears turning in time with his thoughts, as he considered you and the situation in which he had put himself.

“You picked a hell of time to grow a conscious over a mark, Ren,” Hux chided nasally.

Tilting your head up, you met Kylo’s eyes. You weren’t afraid or intimidated, reflecting nothing but resolve back at the fearsome man. Although you couldn’t keep your pulse from quickening as you admired his dangerously handsome features closely for the first time. Even the heady masculine scent of him filled your nose, a mix of leather, spice, and gunpowder.

“The only way you survive, Y/N, is if someone kills the man who opened your contract. The man who would pay your bounty to your would-be killers,” Kylo informed you as casually as if he was describing the weather. “And kill everyone else who comes for you along the way.”

Kylo took a step closer to you, his massive chest almost brushing against you.

“There’s only one man who is capable of carrying that out.” Kylo’s voice had dropped lower, as if he was speaking to only you. “You are fortunate to be in his company now.”

A shaky inhale shuddered through your body, more from the closeness of the man before you than the news he tendered.

“I’m a lucky girl.” You smiled up at Kylo, before continuing as your smile became a smirk. “Although, I’m surprised. I took him for a bit of a milquetoast, myself,” you teased, nodding your head toward Hux.

Kylo snorted a small laugh, his full lips turning in a sideways grin.

“Ren, you can’t be serious?” Hux intoned from the sidelines, where he had been silently shaking his head in disbelief.

“Perhaps the lightness of my demeanor has confused you,” Kylo replied sarcastically, breaking his appraisal of you, as he stepped to the front of the opened iron maiden, turning his attention to its contents. “I’m deadly serious.”

“You can’t kill them all, Ren.” Hux’s voice squeaked higher. “Have you lost your mind?”

“Have you forgotten who you’re talking to?” Kylo regarded Hux briefly before his eyes returned to yours, smirking confidently around his words. “I, most assuredly, can kill them all. Anyone who comes for us or who stands in my way, I’ll kill them.” His voice deepened, as his eyes held yours. “I’ll kill them all.”

“Why are you helping me?” You asked Kylo, trying your best not lose yourself in his piercing eyes.

“I’d be lying if I told you that I knew the answer to that myself.” He flashed a handsome grin at you.

“There’s something else, Ren,” Hux continued nervously, drawing Kylo’s attention. “According to the rumors in the chatter, the Ronin is at play on this hit.”

“Is that so?” Kylo mused, his large fingers stroking his goatee. “That is an interesting development.”

“Are you going to kill him too?” Hux’s hands moved to his hips, mirroring the feminine position you held earlier. “The top free-lance assassin in the world? In addition to all the others? You don’t think you’re biting off more than you can chew with this insanity?”

“I’ve always wanted to meet the Ronin,” Kylo said, almost to himself. “Perhaps now I’ll have the occasion.”

“What the hell is a ‘ronin’?” You asked both men.

“A ronin is a samurai who is not beholden to any master-“ Hux’s words were cut off by Kylo’s baritone.

“A code name,” he explained. “The Ronin is one of the last fee lance men in the business. He’s rumored to be the second best professional currently operating.”

“And who’s the best in the business?” You already knew the answer Kylo would give you.

“The Black Knight.” He grinned, reaching inside the iron maiden to retrieve a handgun of the same make and model as the two resting in his shoulder holsters. “At your service.”

“So, what’s the plan?” You asked Kylo, as he tucked the gun into his waistband at his back. “Can we wait it out?”

“No,” Kylo almost snorted. “We keep on the move. Take the fight to them. Hopefully, I’ll get to the head guy before he even knows he’s being hunted himself.”

“That’s your plan?” You raised your eyebrows. “Run headlong into danger?”

“In a manner.” Kylo’s deep voice was smooth as silk when he turned to face you. “Fortune favors the bold, Y/N.”

Kylo grabbed a tactical looking gun belt from within the iron maiden and several boxes of ammunition, placing them all inside a black duffle bag that lay open on the worktable. He spent minutes packing it with an array of gear and weapons, including knives and a large sniper rifle that he broke down into two pieces.

“Do you know how to handle a gun?” He asked you, returning to study the contents of the cabinet.

“I can manage,” you assured him.

Kylo held out a shoulder holster to you, holding it as he would hold your coat for you to slip on. Turning your back to him, as you put one arm then another through the harness, you could feel the heat from his huge body as he adjusted the size at your back.

One large hand on your shoulder turned you back to face him, making a few final adjustments on the holster.

Kylo reached into the iron maiden, retrieving a smaller sleek handgun. Pulling the slide back, he checked to make sure it was unloaded, before handing it to you grip first.

Accepting it from him, you turned it over in your hands. Kylo’s eyes followed your index finger when you trailed it along the length of barrel.

“You’re giving me the girl gun?” You teased, noting the smaller size and smoother features of your weapon compared to his much larger handguns.

“It’s a Walther,” Kylo told you, amused at your characterization. “It’s what James Bond uses.”

Kylo pushed several full magazines into the open slots on each side of your shoulder holster, his body close to yours. Afterwards you felt like a badly caricatured lady Rambo, unable to pull the look off nearly as chicly as Kylo in his tailored black suit.

“We’ll wait here a few hours. Then we’ll make our way across the Charles Bridge to my car,” Kylo told you his semblance of a plan while finishing packing his duffle bag. “The bridge will be the tricky part. But I have an idea.”

“Waiting for dark, I guess?” You moved next to him, looking at the arsenal contained in the black bag.

“Dark, yes.” Kylo looked over to Hux with a smirk. “But it will give Hux time to source the best route for us. And it will give the tourists a chance to enjoy the drugs and absinthe the city of Prague has to offer, and get a little raucous in the streets. Better cover.”

While Kylo finished packing his things and Hux busied himself at the computer, you wandered back into the bowels of the torture museum.

Each case contained an array of instruments and relics. All forged with the purpose of eliciting the vilest forms of pain and torment that the most darkly creative of minds had envisioned throughout history.

There was larger equipment too. Racks and stocks lined the walls and huge wooden and iron appurtenances that you couldn’t identify sat in corners.

A shiver raced through your body in the damp basement, surrounded by the presence of so much misery and death. Goosebumps raised across your shoulders and arms at the thought. You tried futilely to rub them away with your hands on your arms, as you stood in front of a macabre assortment of pliers and pinchers in a velvet lined display case.

“These implements remind me that what I do is not so bad,” Kylo’s deep honeyed voice rumbled at your back. You hadn’t heard even the slightest sound at the large man’s approach.

“And here I thought you just saved damsels in distress,” you lilted, leaning back slightly so that your back brushed against the breadth of his chest.

“That’s only a recent pastime.” His breath was hot on your ear, his head bowed close to yours.

You felt the heat from his huge hands on your hips, where they hovered near your body, not quite touching you. To your disappointment, the heat of his touch was withdrawn.

Kylo stepped from behind you to your side, his hands shoved into the pockets of his suit pants, as if they had to be restrained to keep from reaching for your body. Leaning forward, he admired the contents of the case himself.

“So, which of these torture instruments is your favorite?” You teased to fill the silence.

“The neck violin,” he answered flatly, casting a sideways glance at you. “It was used to teach spirited women to behave.”

“Are you trying to tell me something?” You asked coyly, turning to face him.

“I have wondered just how badly behaved you must be to have such a high price tag on your lovely head.” Kylo’s voice was lower now, as he took a step toward you. “Good girls do not attract the attention of hitmen.”

“Surely, you can’t expect me to repent now that I’ve attracted your attention?” You raised a hand to his lapel, tracing the luxurious material lightly with your index finger.

An assenting rumble similar to a deep purr sounded through his thick chest, vibrating under your fingertip.

“Perhaps you’ll have to show me just how bad you are.” His rich tone held a seductive challenge that matched the darkening of his vibrant eyes.

Allowing yourself to lean against his firm body, your chin tilted upwards, you invited him to meet your lips in what you knew would be a searing kiss. Kylo’s hands reached to your hips, gripping you firmly, as if grounding himself in the moment.

“Ren!” Hux’s irritant of a voice intruded upon your moment, causing Kylo’s head to jerk in his direction with annoyance. “You have another problem.”

“I often do,” Kylo barked at the other man.

“Not like this,” Hux said nervously. “Word just came through all the channels. There’s a new mark. Open contract. Very large price tag.”

Kylo’s jaw clenched, glaring darkly at the news Hux delivered. He knew what would follow.

“It’s you, Ren.” Hux swallowed thickly. “You’re the mark.”

****************************************************************************************************

As Kylo predicted, the nighttime streets of Prague were hectic and clamorous. Music and boisterous laughter echoed off the ancient stone walls and cobblestone streets as groups of inebriated partygoers stumbled haphazardly from one source of contraband to another and couples walked together through the romantic city. Street musicians played joyously and costumed performers walked among the crowd, pausing for selfies and to perform tricks or skits.

When you re-emerged back onto the streets, it was as just another starry-eyed couple, walking arm in arm through the chilled winter night. Although most couples likely did not have their free hands shoved into their pockets, closed around the grips of their handguns.

A charcoal scarf wrapped around Kylo’s neck obscured the lower part of his face while you donned a black fedora, canted at a rakish angle, to conceal your hair, which had been stuffed up under the hat.

Kylo’s gait was slow, relaxed, with just the hint of a sway to indicate an evening spent drinking with his beautiful lady. He leaned toward you as he walked, both to whisper in your ear like a man in love, and also to camouflage his towering height.

Kylo bumped playfully against your shoulder, the perfect lovesick date, leaning down for an awkward kiss that missed your lips.

“If you need to run, be sure to zig zag and head for the thickest crowd you can find.” His words smeared against your cheek in his drunken guise.

When you neared the towering gothic archway that marked the entrance to the bridge, Kylo twirled you in a dance to the music that filled the street. His eyes scanned the archway in the interlude your spin provided, before he pulled you back close to his side.

Although your lives likely depended on the efficacy of your disguise and quality of your acting, you couldn’t help but wish this moment was real. That you truly had captivated the dashing man who held your hand in his.

Progressing steadily onto the bridge, a happy couple returning to their hotel, you passed the large statues of St. Ives and Madonna attending to St. Bernard without incident.

Moonlight beaming down from a clear starry sky reflected in Kylo’s eyes as they surveyed every face you neared, looking for any indication of danger or any sudden movements.

Musicians, actors, vendors, and painters noted your presence as a potential customer, but they were unable to draw Kylo’s enraptured attention from you. Tourists smiled at your affectionate display, but the architecture and music were more enticing and they paid you little mind. This was exactly what Kylo hoped for as you both passed several more shadowed saints that stood as sentinels along the railing of the bridge.

Approaching the statue of St. Francis of Assisi, you noticed two men beneath the statue wearing oddly severe expressions that caught your eye when their stares locked onto your face. You saw their hands reach quickly into their pockets.

As their guns emerged, you opened your mouth to shout Kylo’s name, but before a sound could escape your lips, you heard the hissing pop pop from Kylo’s silenced handgun as he shot without withdrawing his hand from his coat pocket. The two men fell back against the railing of the bridge, rivulets of blood leaking from the pink holes in their foreheads.

Kylo’s motion betrayed nothing. Only the keenest observer could have seen the clenching of his jaw or the narrowing of his eyes when he fired his killing shots. You, however, felt his grip on your hand turn to iron, as he held you harshly against his side.

People milling in the crowd enjoying their evening remained blissfully unaware of the double murder that had just occurred in their midst.

Kylo walked causally with you to a thicker area of the crowd, walking closer to the edge of the bridge where the vendors and performers drew an audience near the railing. Drunken college kids and tourists provided some cover from unseen assailants as you both weaved through their staggering confusion.

A flash of silver caught your eye as a knife from a dark figure slashed at Kylo’s face, seemingly out of the darkness itself.

Kylo dodged on reflex, pulling his head back as he swatted the man’s arm away in a rough inside block.

On the man’s backswing, Kylo stopped the arm in mid-flight, locking his huge hand around the man’s wrist. Kylo slammed his forehead brutally into his attacker’s nose, using the opening to wrench the knife from his grip. Kylo shoved the man’s own knife up under his chin when his head was snapped back from Kylo’s blow, killing him instantly.

The body fell in the center of the drunken college crew, looking to the causal inebriated eye like no more than a tourist who couldn’t handle his liquor.

Beside you, walking calmly ahead, Kylo’s breath remained even and his eyes focused.

Kylo pulled you through the milling crowd as easily as if the mass of people were little more than some of the many pigeons that cluttered the streets. His large frame pushed people aside without slowing his stride, pulling you along with him.

The remaining half of Charles’ Bridge stretched ahead of you, ending at a towering archway. Beyond the arch, the lights of the city of Prague backlit your destination.

A small gathering of spectators formed a semi-circle around a pair of entertainers ahead of you. Two small nimble men in simple black tracksuits were currently performing acrobatic feats that would rival Cirque Du Solei. Their movements were so quick and fluid that it was difficult for your eyes to keep pace with them given their dark outfits in the evening dim.

Kylo shoved ahead, pushing through the crowd to a round of curses, and breaking into the open circle afforded to the performers. His body was between you and the two men, your body closer to the bystanders, as he pulled you tighter against him, watching the crowd for any signs of attack.

With unnatural agility, the two small men lunged at Kylo. Simultaneously, one man kicked the back of Kylo’s knee, buckling him as he walked, as the other man landed a violent kick to Kylo’s solar plexus. The combined strikes brought the huge man to a knee, sending you stumbling ahead.

Just as quick as the smaller men, Kylo drew his gun from his pocket, swinging it toward his target. A rough kick to the back of Kylo’s hand sent the gun flying, sparking as it skipped across the cobblestone.

Another kick flew aimed for Kylo’s teeth, an easy target as he knelt. Kylo ducked low, swooping his torso under the kick, and slammed his right hand into the man’s crotch in an uppercut. The man’s leg passed over Kylo’s head as Kylo straightened. In the same motion, Kylo’s left fist punched into the man’s back, pounding into his kidney with enough force to rupture the organ.

Surging up from the ground, Kylo barreled down upon the smaller man with a growl, meeting his attack head on. The acrobat assassin landed a punch to Kylo’s jaw that didn’t slow Kylo’s attack, a fly in front of a freight train.

You drew the gun from your pocket as Kylo and the small man collided. Attempting to train your gun on the other man to protect Kylo, you were too slow.

Kylo’s massive hand collided with the man’s throat, locking around his neck in an iron grip. You watched in awe as the huge man lifted his assailant by the grip on his neck and threw him bodily over the side of the bridge and into the frigid river below.

Movement from the side drew your attention. Jerking your head in the direction of the crowd, you saw three men rushing toward you, guns drawn. Tourists screamed at the sight, running away, a herd of stampeding animals.

Kylo reached into his coat to draw his second gun. You were faster. Training your gun on the first man’s head, you fired. On instinct, you squeezed the trigger twice more when your sights fell on the other two men on either side of the first. They were so focused on Kylo that they didn’t register the danger you posed until they were dead on their feet.

Like shooting ducks in a row, you thought as all three men fell dead to the ground mid-stride.

Although, he didn’t pause in his swift stride to compliment you, you saw the grin on Kylo’s lips and the impressed regard in his eyes when he grabbed your hand to pull you ahead.

Pausing only to retrieve his gun from the street, Kylo broke into a jog. There was no longer a need to try to blend in now that the crowd was panicking around you. Kylo ran ahead, your feet barely touching the ground as he dragged you along at his side.

Beside you, one of the sculpted Saints that lined the bridge exploded in stone shrapnel. Sharp debris stung you both, as a torrent of bullets from an automatic rifle narrowly missed your heads, ripping instead into the statue.

Kylo’s hand was instantly at your neck, roughly shoving your head down completely, collapsing you face down onto the cobblestone, sinking to a knee himself. Your chest hit the stone, as Kylo aimed his gun. The breath was punched from your lungs by Kylo’s hand slamming you down between your shoulder blades, as two quick shots from Kylo’s gun halted the gunfire aimed at you.

As quickly as he forced you to your stomach, Kylo yanked you back up to your feet by your collar. You coughed and choked for breath, stumbling at his side, while being dragged along easily by the powerful man like a doll.

Passing under the arch that marked the exit from the bridge into the city, Kylo picked up his pace. He was now outright running, gun raised in his right hand, towing you forcibly beside him with his left.

After crossing the wide main street and running a block into the city, Kylo ducked down a narrow darkened side street. He pushed you against the side of a building, slamming his own shoulder into the wall right beside you.

Kylo’s chest heaved, albeit less than yours, as you both caught your breath in the brief interlude. Reaching his left hand to your face, he pinched your chin gently between his thumb and forefinger, titling your face upwards.

“Are you alright, Y/N?” His voice was hoarse with exertion. “Are you hit anywhere? I wasn’t too rough with you, was I?”

“I’m fine, Kylo.” You smiled slightly up at him, enjoying the feeling of his fingers on your skin. “I guess you saved me again.”

“I’m not done saving you yet, lovely.” Kylo smirked. “We’re not in the clear. Not by a long shot.”

“At least I’m in good, unfairly large, hands.” You reached a hand to grip the wrist of his hand that held your face.

“I am too, it seems.” He grinned, his fingers now gently stroking your jaw. “You’re a hell of a shot.”

You beamed up at him when his left hand dropped from your face to lace his thick fingers through yours. Raising your hand to his lips, he kissed your skin softly, before leading you down the street.

Kylo resumed his unhurried innocuous pace, passing unnoticed with you through the shadows.

After a few blocks, Kylo stopped at a battered wooden garage door. He entered a code into a conspicuously high-tech keypad, the garage door sliding open in response.

Ushering you inside, Kylo canvassed the street before stepping inside and closing the door behind you both.

Inside, faint light illuminated the sleek, elegant lines of an Aston Martin Vantage. The sports car matched the rest of Kylo’s wardrobe, its glossy black paint shining in the low light.

Kylo retrieved the long scoped sniper rifle. Leaning into the passenger door, he placed it barrel down, pointing into the floor of the passenger side. The stock extended up over the center console, easy for him to pull quickly to fire if needed.

Motioning you inside the car, Kylo held the door for you and closed it behind you. You watched as he then folded his enormous frame into the driver’s seat.

The sound of the engine roaring to life filled the small garbage. Kylo placed his large hand on your thigh, squeezing you briefly, reassuring you that you were safe in those powerful hands. His fingers trailed along your skin as he moved his hand from your leg to the gear shift.

Kylo pushed a button on the console, killing all the running lights, even the lights of the dashboard.

When Kylo backed his black car out onto the dark narrow street, only the low thrum of its engine and the moonlight shining along its satin lines betrayed its presence.

Driving to the end of the street, Kylo paused at the entrance to a wider street. Unfortunately, the late hour meant that there was less traffic to cover your escape.

He made up his mind quickly, turning on his lights and pulling out onto the street. Driving reasonably, he hoped to appear as just another night owl out on the road.

Your heart thrummed, trying to beat through your ribs, as you anticipated all the ways that you could be caught or ambushed. You wondered how Kylo remained so calm and unruffled.

Kylo’s eyes suddenly shot to the rearview mirror, glaring violently at the glass. As if summoned by your thoughts, three black vehicles now approached speedily behind you. Two Mercedes sedans and an SUV.

Jaw clenching, Kylo pulled his handgun from his shoulder holster, holding it in his right hand and steering with his left. Mirroring him, you drew your own gun, keeping the barrel pointed toward the floorboard. He turned onto a narrow one-way street at random, aiming toward the older part of the city and its meandering infrastructure.

One car turned in after you. Speeding ahead, the other car and SUV no doubt hoped to cut you off deeper in the city.

A hail of gunfire assaulted Kylo’s rear windshield, each bullet a small deafening explosion echoing through the cab. Flinching violently, you ducked low, covering your head with your shaking hands. The window cracked in a spider web, spreading wider with each shot, but didn’t break.

“Bulletproof,” Kylo informed you calmly. “Bullet resistant, at least. It won’t stay bulletproof for long.”

“You could have informed me earlier,” you snapped, staring back at the fractured window.

“I hoped it wouldn’t come up.” As he spoke, another round of gunshots assaulted the back of his car and window. “If the glass fails, get ready to shoot back out through any holes.”

The street was too narrow for Kylo to turn his car for a shot at his enemy. Instead, he pressed his heavy foot to the floor, trying to pull away from the other car, as he sped ahead.

Bullets littered the street and buildings around you, the shots growing less accurate with the added distance.

At the end of the street, Kylo’s Aston Martin burst into a cloistered square, complete with a fountain with marble sculptures depicting an angelic duel seated in its center. His eyes shot to the right, outside of your passenger window, at the second black car that had nearly managed to cut you both off, speeding toward you through the square.

Wrenching the wheel, Kylo veered toward the fountain. Your muscles tensed involuntarily as Kylo drove straight at the marble obstacle, two cars now pursing you closely behind.

Jaw set and eyes focused, Kylo stomped the clutch and yanked the handbrake simultaneously, throwing his car into a sideways slide mere feet from colliding with the fountain. Circling the steering wheel roughly, he controlled his skid, drifting around the fountain amid a haze of smoke from his whining tires.

“Down!” Kylo commanded as he drew his handgun.

You ducked your head as low as you could, covering your ears, as the skid brought your now open passenger window to face the enemy cars.

Kylo extended his long arm over you, aiming his gun out through your window, and fired at the encroaching cars. He shot three times in immediate succession into the windshield of one Mercedes before his own car drifted too far around the curve of the fountain.

The Mercedes Kylo riddled with bullets crashed full speed into the fountain, plowing through the marble rim until it was stopped by the sculpted centerpiece. The outstretched sword of a marble angel impaled through the bullet-weakened windshield like paper, skewering the driver completely through.

Kylo spun the steering wheel and engaged the clutch, correcting the drift of his car, as he aimed down a street leading out of the square. The remaining Mercedes followed hot on his bumper.

Raising your head, you were almost dizzy from the spin of the car.

Fuck,” Kylo gritted, pulling your eyes forward.

The street he chose ended abruptly at a staircase, descending down a flight into a larger plaza. A heavy metal rail bifurcated the staircase, running its length.

Kylo’s powerful right arm shot out to the side, pressing firmly against your chest to keep you pinned to your seat when his car careened down the stairs, using one side of the railing like a traffic lane.

Behind you, the Mercedes plunged down the stairs after you. It took the turn too fast. Its outer wheel hit the rail centered in the flight of stairs. With the car’s speed, the wheels on the driver’s side lifted off the ground, pried up by the rail. The Mercedes rolled instantly. Gravity and inertia carried the car down the stairs, an avalanche of screaming steel pursuing you and Kylo.

Your teeth felt like they would chip from the jarring force when Kylo’s car bottomed out in the plaza. His arm flew from you back to his gear shift, slamming into a lower gear to speed away.

The black SUV had found you. Driving at you head on, you had the perfect picture of menacing face of its driver as it sped toward you.

Kylo rolled his window down while grabbing the stock of his sniper rifle. The rifle rested nicely over his left arm, pointed out of his driver’s side window. Once his rifle was positioned, Kylo cranked the steering wheel, palming it as the tires on his car squealed in protest from their slide on the cobblestone.

Kylo’s car skidded nearly broadside to the oncoming SUV. Before his car had fully stopped, Kylo brought the recoil pad to his shoulder and his eye to the scope of his rifle. He was ready when his car jolted to a complete stop, his finger squeezing the trigger instantly.

Bullets sailed perfectly through the foreheads of the driver first and then his passenger, coating the inside of their windshield with thickly dipping blood, as the SUV continued to barrel toward you.

Without pulling his rifle back inside, Kylo slammed down on the gas pedal, surging ahead to avoid the collision from the SUV and its dead occupants.

At the same time, the Mercedes completed its roll to the bottom of the stairs, tumbling to a stop in a crumpled mass of rendered metal.

In one smooth motion, Kylo turned to speed down a side street, while pulling his rifle back inside and returning the muzzle to the floor beside your feet.

Cocking his head just enough to look sideways in your direction, Kylo winked at you when he saw that he had impressed you. You rolled your eyes sarcastically in response, earning a grin for your effort, although you couldn’t keep the smile from your lips.

Minutes of darting down minor streets and snaking through the alleys and backstreets of Prague carried you out of the city. The lights around you thinned, soon becoming nothing more than the occasional house or outpost, as Kylo drove you into the countryside.

A glance at the dash showed the gauge dipping far into the red on the sports car’s speedometer. Driving well over one hundred miles per hour, Kylo was as casual and relaxed behind the wheel as if he were taking a lazy Sunday drive.

To the extent possible, Kylo kept off the main roads and freeways. You sped through the night for several hours, watching the darkened forest fly by your window.

When Kylo finally slowed his speed, it was to turn onto a smaller shoulder-less road.

After a few miles on the winding rural road, a small spattering of lights from a small town shone ahead.

Kylo switched off the running lights of his car when he entered the town, not wanting to draw attention to a stranger driving late at night.

Navigating the narrow cobblestone streets by moonlight seemed almost second nature to Kylo. After turning down several winding streets, snaking between old world buildings, he found his destination.

“Hux secured a room for us,” Kylo told you, turning into a downtrodden driveway. “Safe. No questions.”

“Do you trust him?” You asked, surprised that a man like Kylo would trust anyone at all.

“He’s never given me a reason not to.” Kylo’s voice trailed off into a semblance of a groan, as he surveyed the dingy exterior of your accommodations. “Although, his sense of humor wears thin.”

“Sense of humor?” You raised an eyebrow with your question.

“This is his way of booking us a romantic evening.” Kylo turned to you with a smirk.

Upon pulling into the enclosed garage, you were greeted with another car. A classic American muscle car. A 1967 Shelby Mustang painted charcoal grey.

Kylo noted the surprise on your features with a sideways grin.

“We’ll trade out tomorrow,” he explained. “A classic car has no gps, no tracking, no on-board computer.”

Gun drawn, Kylo led you up a flight of stairs into a small rundown room. It was nothing more than a single room containing a small table near a kitchen sink, a lightbulb swaying from where it hung down from the ceiling, and a mattress lying on the floor. Kylo quickly swept the room, briefly stepping into the tiny bathroom, to make sure the room was clear.

“Is this where you bring all the girls?” You teased.

“Only the special ones,” Kylo deadpanned, placing his duffle bag on the small table and rummaging through its contents. “It’s easier to keep them focused on me. Not on room service, Egyptian cotton sheets, or fancy decor.”

“Really? You need help keeping their attention on you?” You laughed at his humor. “They must be easily distracted.”

“Most women don’t have your focus.” Kylo continued as he unpacked his things. “Or your aim.”

“Well, right now, I’m aiming for the shower.” You said as you removed your shoes, sighing at the feeling of the cool floor on your aching feet.

Kylo pulled a button up shirt from his bag, a matching shade of black, and held it out to you.

“It’s clean. If you want something to sleep in,” he offered.

Taking the shirt with a grateful smile, you waited until you were behind the closed door of the bathroom to bring it to your nose and inhale the faint scent of its owner that still lingered in the fabric, coupled with the smell of fresh laundry. A smile turned your lips when his rich scent filled your nose.

Moments after turning on the shower, steam filled the small bathroom. At least the shower was decent. You felt instantly rejuvenated when you stepped under the hot water.

Washing away the events of one of the longest days you could remember, you watched as dirt and blood swirled together down the drain. The sight should have disturbed you, but it only reminded you of the handsome man who had become your savior.

After finishing, you pulled on Kylo’s huge shirt, buttoning it around you. It was large enough to make a decent nightgown, paired with your panties and nothing else.

Kylo’s gaze locked onto you instantly, his eyes dark and intense upon you, from his seat at the table. He had taken his jacket and dress shirt off, both draped over the back of his chair, and wore a black v-neck tee shirt and his suit pants.

Your eyes were drawn to the place where the valley between his pecs disappeared beneath the v in his shirt. His chest was even thicker and more massive than you had guessed, his arms and shoulders much more heavily muscled and finely sculpted.

“You can have the bed.” Kylo gestured at the mattress, shifting in his chair, as he crossed his long legs.

“I think I’d feel safer if we shared it,” you told Kylo over your shoulder, thinking to yourself that your statement actually happened to be true, as you walked to the bed. Pulling the covers back, you lowered yourself onto the lumpy mattress, folding your legs beneath you.

Returning your eyes to Kylo, you saw the hunger in his gaze as he watched your every move. Your smile was all the remaining invitation he needed.

Kylo knelt on the mattress, collapsing heavily onto his back beside you. He casually crossed his arms behind his head and his feet at the ankles, as if he was trying to restrain his whole body from reaching for you. The way he looked up at you, holding your gaze, told you that he would follow your lead, whatever that might be.

Scooting closer to his body, you could feel the warmth radiating off of him. You rested one hand on his huge firm chest, feeling the dense muscle flex under your touch when you lowered yourself down against him.

“I haven’t yet thanked you properly,” you whispered. Bracing yourself on his chest, you lowered your face to his as he grinned up at you, bringing your lips together.

Kylo’s lips were even softer and plusher than you had imagined when they met yours. His hands left their position behind his head. One arm lowered to hook around your waist and pull you tighter against him, curling around your body. His other hand moved to stroke the arm you used to brace yourself on his chest.

He kissed you softly at first, almost teasing you with his pillowy lips. When your mouth parted, however, his lips became ravenous on yours. Tightening his hold around you, he kissed you deeply, making you sigh into his mouth at the pleasure he elicited from such a simple action.

Minutes ticked away while you kissed, while Kylo made you shiver with his masterful lips. You could feel heat spreading through your body, from your cheeks down to your pussy. When you pulled away, you were breathless and flustered. Beneath you, Kylo looked up at you with wild dark eyes and a flush on his pouty lips, his hands gripping you with almost bruising strength for a moment before relaxing.

“Get some sleep, beautiful. I need you in top shape tomorrow.” Kylo’s smug grin returned. “And if I go much further now, you won’t want me to stop all night.”

Shaking your head at him with a smile of your own, you lowered yourself for a final brief kiss, before laying your head down on his massive chest. Large warm hands caressed you soothingly, lulling you to sleep in time with the steady beat of Kylo’s heart beneath your ear.

****************************************************************************************************

Somehow Kylo disentangled himself from your sleeping form in the early hours of the dark morning. The large man silently showered and dressed without rousing you until he purposefully set a coffee mug down loudly on the counter.

Your eyes shot open, meeting his amused gaze, smirking at you over the rim of his mug from where he sat at the table.

“I’ve only just met you and I’m already having to wait on you to get out of the damn door,” he teased you around a sip of coffee.

“I’m never late, Kylo. You’re simply too early,” you retuned, your voice thick with sleep.

Kylo’s eyes followed you closely when you rose to accept the cup of coffee he offered you before heading into the bathroom to put yourself together.

You emerged in short order, fully composed to meet the day. Instead of leaving hurriedly as you expected, you were surprised to see that Kylo had used the time to prepare a simple breakfast for the two of you from the meager ingredients available. Until the smell hit you, you didn’t realize how hungry you were.

The drive deeper into the countryside felt much more pleasant today after some much needed rest and food. You had crossed into Switzerland sometime during your drive last night, but now you were able to admire the beautiful scenery in the daylight. The road snaked through valleys and monstrous snowy mountains, their jagged peaks silhouetted against the crisp blue sky.

As he drove, Kylo was, by all appearances, lost in some detailed thought, belied by his habit of chewing the inside of his lip.

“What’s on your mind?” You asked finally. “Plotting is better done together.”

His eyes darted to you for a moment as he let out a slight sigh. His hand gripped the wheel tighter, knuckles white, when he prompted you. “Tell me what I need to know about this ex of yours.”

“What do you want to know? He’s tall, dark, and handsome.” You watched Kylo’s jaw clench tight. “Although lesser in all of those categories than you. Are you jealous?”

“Jealous? There’s nothing he has that I want.” He shifted in his seat. “If he is, in fact, your ex.”

“Are you saying that you want me?” You quirked an eyebrow to match your smirk.

“You know I want you,” Kylo stated flatly, looking sideways at you and arching his own eyebrow in a mockery of yours. “And I know that you’d be rather disappointed if I didn’t.”

“You may be right,” you replied with as much coyness as you could muster.

“Why does he want you dead?” Kylo reached his hand to your leg, letting it rest there, as though it had never belonged anywhere else.

“I honestly don’t know. It’s been months since I left him.” You placed your hand on top of Kylo’s, so small against his huge mitt. You laughed when you added sarcastically, “Closure?”

Kylo grinned briefly at your comment. “Where does the weak code name come from? DJ?”

“It’s sarcastic. DJ stands for Don’t Join.” You stroked the back of his hand, feeling the strength in his grip below your fingers. “As in, Don’t Join the Agency.”

“And you?” Kylo turned to look at you more squarely than you appreciated while he was driving. “Am I going to find out that you’re with the Agency, too?”

“I’ve never worked for any Agency. You have my word.” You ran your fingers between his. Smiling, he trapped your thumb beneath his. “I’m sure I’ve made him want to kill me for a lot of reasons,” you thought aloud, only half joking. “Although, none of them worth so much money.”

“After being with you for a couple days, I can see that,” Kylo teased, squeezing your thigh affectionately.

“The bigger question is why does he want you dead? You’re the Agency’s top Professional.” You leaned closer to his large arm. “The best in the business.”

“Is it not enough of a reason that I’m with you?” Kylo asked with another squeeze to your thigh.

“You know the hit came out first. Probably even before you saved me.” You shook your head in the negative.

“I’ll have to ask him in person.” Kylo grinned wickedly at the thought.

Smiling yourself, you turned to look out of the window, watching the gorgeous scenery pass by. You were approaching the mountain village of Grindelwald, home of the famous Eiger Mountain.

Taking note of the awe on your features, Kylo slowed his car to a more rational speed, allowing you more time to admire the landscape. His hand still rested on your thigh, rubbing you gently.

The town of Grindelwald itself was nestled in the mountains, among the peaks. The air was so thin and clear that you could see fissures in the stone of the Eiger where it protruded through its blanket of snow.

“Shall we stop for lunch?” Kylo asked, attentive to your reverence of the beauty around you.

“Is that what you’d normally do on a mission?” You turned to face him, squeezing his hand on your leg affectionately.

“Of course not,” he said as he removed his hand from your thigh, bringing your hand up with his as he lifted it to his lips for a soft kiss to your skin. “However, I don’t normally have such a lovely accomplice with me.”

Kylo knew of a small colloquial restaurant, set aside from the main town, deeper in the mountains. He ensured you had a window side table with an unobstructed view of the mountains.

You assented for him to order for you both and you could not have been more pleasantly surprised by the local delicacy that was placed before you. Nor could you have been more pleasantly surprised by the debonair man across from you.

Kylo, it appeared, had quite the romantic streak in him, when he wasn’t busy saving your life at any rate. You had never been on a nicer date, if that was indeed the appropriate classification for your lunch.

However, your conversation, although uniquely pleasant for you, would not otherwise have been considered polite by most. Kylo detailed his semblance of a plan to you. He intended to make the drive to Zermatt today, where Hux had secured a room at an upscale lodge under one of Kylo’s aliases. It was the closest location to your target, the mountain retreat that served as the Agency’s primary base. His planning ended with assuring you that once inside the Agency, he would proceed to stack the bodies high.

Offering you his hand when you walked from the restaurant, Kylo led you back to his car in the extreme cold of the Alps. Before he opened your door, he spun you around to face him, bringing his large arms around you. Bending forward, his lips crashed against yours. You moaned with pleasure and surprise when he kissed you with such passion. When he pulled away, steam issued from his lips in the frozen winter air and his eyes burned from within.

For the remainder of the drive, his hand never left its place on your leg unless it was to lace his fingers between yours.

****************************************************************************************************

A full moon hung low and large in the night sky when you finally stepped out into the frigid air on the balcony of your suite at the exclusive Lodge in Zermatt.

Remarkably close in the distance, the great Matterhorn rose into the sky, a majestic white fang piercing the night as it reached toward the moon. The spectacular view was worth the shivers induced by the cold.

You were not cold for long. Kylo approached you from behind, wrapping his arms around you and pulling your back flush to his chest. He looked over your head at the view, himself taken aback by the beauty before him.

“Perhaps after I’ve settled matters tomorrow, we can stay here a few days,” Kylo said softly, lowering his head to kiss below your ear. “Perhaps even longer.”

“After you’ve killed everyone, you mean?” You leaned into the wonderful heat of his mouth as he kissed along your jaw. “I’d like that very much.”

“Consider it done, lovely,” he whispered into your ear.

Using his strong hold around you, Kylo gently pulled you back inside the room, letting his hands trail away across your curves when he released you.

“You should get some rest. I’ll have to leave well before dawn tomorrow,” Kylo told you reluctantly.

We will have to leave well before dawn,” you corrected over your shoulder as you stepped away from him. “May I borrow your shirt again?”

“Not a chance, beautiful. Tomorrow will make Prague look like child’s play.” Kylo walked to his bag that sat on the large king bed, unzipping it to rummage for a shirt to double as your nightgown. “You’re staying here. I don’t care if I have to handcuff you to the bed.”

“Maybe I’ll let you handcuff me once we’re celebrating.” Looking over your shoulder, you made a point of catching Kylo’s eye. Tantalizingly slow, you slid your jeans down as Kylo watched. You could feel his gaze burning into your skin, as you pushed the denim down over your hips and ass. You arched your back when you straightened to step out of them, ensuring he had a perfect view of your ass. “You’ll need me, Kylo. Tomorrow. I know how DJ thinks. I know what he’ll use for passwords and where he’ll set traps and ambushes.”

“Then you better start telling me everything I need to know,” Kylo’s said in a hoarse baritone, pulling a shirt from his bag. “Because you’re not going.”

“You must mistake me for someone who follows orders,” you said lightly. Peeling your shirt off over your head, you tossed it aside. Your bra followed. Standing now in only your panties, you looked back over your shoulder again, smirking at Kylo.

Your eyes beckoned him forward. Like a consummate gentleman, when Kylo walked to your back, he held his shirt out for you to slip your arms into as he lifted it over your shoulders.

Turning to face him, you saw the raw hunger in his stare, watching as you buttoned his shirt around your body. He swallowed thickly, watching your movements mere inches in front of him.

“If you’re so determined to get to bed early, then come join me.” Reaching a hand to him, you ran a finger along his belt. “And dress for the occasion.”

You could hear the jingle of his belt buckle and hasty rustling of clothing as you walked to the bed.

Reclining onto the mattress, you rolled onto your side facing away from him, partially to be coy but primarily to look out of the window at the Matterhorn shining in the moonlight.

The mattress dipped with Kylo’s heavy weight when joined you on it. He lay down at your back, securing you in his embrace from behind. Your heart leapt when he pulled you close at the feeling of his bare skin against your lower body, and the feeling of his half hard cock against the back of your thighs.

Holding you from behind, you could feel the power in his strong arms as they wrapped around you. Wanting more, you pressed yourself back against him, reaching one hand back to feel the thick mane of his hair.

At your touch, Kylo nuzzled into your neck with a rich purr. His lips were soft and hot on your skin where he kissed you, his arms pulling you impossibly closer against his body.

Feeling the warmth of his touch, you pushed back against him. Kylo groaned when you pushed your ass against his cock, as it rapidly swelled behind you.

You sighed at the feeling of his cock, huge, hot, and heavy, pressing against you.

“Tell me what you want,” Kylo instructed huskily against your neck, punctuating his words with a soft bite.

“I want you, Kylo,” you almost moaned. “I want all of you.”

“As you wish, lovely.” You felt Kylo’s lips smile against your skin.

Kylo reached his arm that had wrapped around you to the buttons on the shirt you wore. His shirt. He deftly undid the buttons with one hand. Reaching the bottom of the shirt, once opened, he slid his warm hand back up your body to your breast, rubbing your flesh with his calloused palm and squeezing you in his firm grip. Your back arched at the sensation, pushing your tits further into his grasp.

“I’m going to have to come back to these,” he mumbled, as his hand trailed back down your body, slipping inside your panties.

Two of Kylo’s thick fingers ran between your folds. He nipped your shoulder at the feeling of your dripping wetness.

Your hand flew to Kylo’s when he pushed those two fingers into you, working his wrist harder when your hips rutted against his fingers.

Painfully hard, Kylo’s cock ground against you. The hard ridge on its underside rubbing against your ass, his fat tip smearing precum across his stomach, as his fingers curled against your gspot where they pumped in and out of you.

Turning your head, you caught Kylo’s lips, feeling him lick into your mouth while his fingers made you drip. He kissed you like he was starving. Every sensation traveled straight to your pussy, making you clench. You lifted your leg, wanting more, hooking it over his hip behind you.

At the feeling of your pussy’s response, Kylo pulled his fingers from you and ripped your panties to the side. Drawing his hips back enough to line his length up, he nudged his tip into your weeping entrance.

His lips didn’t leave yours as he pushed inside of you, swallowing his name when you moaned it into his mouth while he filled you with his massive cock.

“Fuck, you feel so good, gorgeous,” Kylo growled against your lips. “So tight on my cock.”

After letting his hand linger on your pussy long enough to feel his cock sliding in and out of you, Kylo reached to your thigh. He lifted your leg higher, spreading you open even further for him.

Your body rocked with each of Kylo’s thrusts while he pumped into you. Each one rubbing against the best spots inside of you. Twisting into his hair, you tugged him to kiss you as hard as he fucked you.

He filled you so completely that you could feel every ridge of his huge cock dragging against your walls. Each motion of his hips sent jolts of electric ecstasy shooting through your core.

Even kissing became too complex for you as he pushed you closer to the edge with every hard thrust. Kylo’s lips left yours when you could do little more than moan for him. He returned them to the sensitive skin of your neck, kissing and biting at the junction of your shoulder.

Your pussy fluttered around him, so close to melting on his cock.

Kylo felt it and pounded into you harder.

“That’s it, gorgeous. Squeeze me with that tight little pussy,” he gritted against your neck. “Cum all over my fat fucking cock.”

As if he commanded your body, your pussy seized on his cock, gripping him while you came in hard throbbing waves of pleasure. Kylo fucked you steadily through them all, not changing his pace while you tensed around him. The only indication of the strain in his body was the way his grip on your thigh became bruising and the way he bit down rough enough to leave a mark on your otherwise pristine skin.

Once the waves of your orgasm finished passing through you, your body went as limp as though you didn’t have a bone left.

Kylo hoisted himself up, rolling on top of you and hiking your leg higher up his body to drive his cock into you even deeper. It was all your quivering muscles could do to loop your arms around his neck and hold him close.

Staring down at your beautifully pleasure drunk face, Kylo bared his teeth in a feral grin while he fucked you like the beast he was. His hair fell around his face in an ebony curtain, jostling in time with his rough thrusts.

The feel of your pussy still squeezing around him as he pounded you sent him reeling into his own climax. His hips faltered with the exaggerated throbbing of his cock.

Slamming into you one final time, he buried his cock to the hilt, growling, as he pumped you full of thick ropes of his cum. A pleasant shudder racked you at the feeling of his heat spreading through you.

As the strain from his exertion melted away from his handsome face, Kylo smiled warmly down at you. When he brought his lips to yours again, they were soft and soothing. Letting some of his weight settle down upon you, his mouth gently caressed yours while your hands smoothed across his broad shoulders.

“That was incredible, Kylo,” you whispered into his kiss, feeling him smile in response.

“Yes, you were,” he corrected, his was voice as thick and heavy as the rest of him.

It was pure euphoria, being so engulfed by this beast of a man, yet held and touched so gently. You never wanted your bodies to be apart.

When Kylo rolled off of you, he pulled you into what was becoming your favorite place in the world, in his strong embrace, resting your head on his chest.

****************************************************************************************************

As Kylo had warned you, morning came far too quickly. If the deep black of night when he roused you could be called ‘morning.’

You awoke to the smell of coffee, the sound of running water, and Kylo’s lips on yours. He kissed you softly into consciousness from where he straddled your body, hovering above you.

“Join me in the shower, lovely,” he implored in a sleep-gravelly voice against your lips. “Let me tell you good morning properly.”

With a reluctant sigh, you allowed Kylo to pull you to your feet and herd you into the bathroom.

A thick haze of steam filled the bathroom when you entered. The shower was a luxurious open design, offering plenty of room for you both.

Kylo stepped under the water first, testing its temperature. Joining him, you placed your hands on the thick planes of his chest, smoothing over the muscle. It was the first time you had seen him naked in the light and his chest was even more impressive than you had calculated. All of his body was.

You had also failed to appreciate the substantial number of scars that decorated his skin in varying sizes and ages. You immediately saw several distinctly puckered scars from bullet wounds and triple the number of laceration scars left by knives and blades.

Moving closer, you traced a scar that slashed across his chest with your finger. A pleasured rumble vibrated through Kylo’s ribs at your soft touch. His arms wrapped around you, spreading body wash along your back with his caress. You felt his cock filling out against you, already rising in response to your touch.

No other scar was so large or prominent as the one on his face that trailed down onto his chest. You kissed the place on his chest where the scar ended, following it up with your lips to kiss his collarbone.

Movement from the bathroom doorway drew your attention. Without thinking, you shoved Kylo roughly back against the shower wall, interrupting your moment of intimate entanglement, pressing your body flush to his.

Two bullets struck the shower right where your heads had been. An explosion of tile peppered your naked bodies with chips and shards.

The thick cloud of steam that filled the bathroom hid you two for a brief moment. Enough time for Kylo to charge out of the shower at the gunman.

Kylo knocked the man’s gun arm aside, sending the gun flying. In the same powerful motion, Kylo shot his arm out to hook around the man’s neck, pulling the gunman against his chest in a rear choke. Kylo slammed his forearm against the man’s larynx as he locked his arms in a vice around the man’s neck. With his larynx crushed and all his blood and airflow cut off, the man’s body went limp in seconds in Kylo’s deadly hold.

Quietly easing the corpse to the floor, Kylo grabbed the man’s gun. He moved to the bathroom door, pausing to listen for sounds coming from inside your room.

Almost too quick for your vision to track, Kylo leaned from the doorway and fired two rapid shots. The handgun’s silenced muzzle rendered the sound to nothing more than soft puffs.

“We need to hurry,” Kylo told you from where he stood naked in the doorway. “There will be more.”

Stepping over the body of the man in the bathroom, you dried quickly before entering the bedroom. Another body greeted you, splayed across the floor by the foot of the bed, blood pooling around his ruptured head like a macabre halo.

“This is good luck, actually,” Kylo said cheerily amidst pulling on his pants. “These men likely came from the Agency’s Base. Which means they’ll be expected to return. This gives us an in.”

You smiled at him in response, dressing quickly yourself. The armed shoulder holster was the final touch to your outfit before pulling on your coat. You lost track of the number of guns and other weapons you saw Kylo hide away in his suit and jacket.

Once fully dressed, he pulled a folded pocketknife out of the depths of his suit. Flicking the blade open with his thumb, he knelt beside the body in the bedroom.

You watched in confusion as Kylo lifted the man’s hand and proceeded to cut his thumb off. He then wrapped the digit in a handkerchief before standing and walking to you.

“Their thumbprints should be keyed to enter or exit the Base,” he explained holding the lurid gift out to you. “In case we get separated.”

“Charming.” You stuffed the handkerchief into a pocket of your jacket, wrinkling your nose.

“I’ll get you something more romantic when we get out of this.” Kylo flashed you his million-dollar smile.

Returning to the bathroom, Kylo made quick work of removing a thumb off the other man for himself. You heard him wash the blood off his hands before coming back to your side. You wondered how long they would stay clean.

Kylo grabbed his tactical sniper rifle, slinging it over his shoulder, then took your hand.

Outside, you found the assassins’ transportation parked in a snowdrift behind your lodge. Electric snowmobiles. Silent.

The winter predawn air was deathly cold. The kind of cold that was so biting it froze you from the inside out just by inhaling the frigid air into your lungs.

Riding the snowmobiles in the bitter cold across the glacial landscape required a level of resolve that you had rarely employed. It was against every human instinct to head out into such terrible cold. You tried to focus on Kylo’s broad back and proud shoulders, riding tall ahead of you.

The Base was across a valley from the Matterhorn. It was hidden high up in the mountains, just past tree line. The natural conditions created the first line of defense. The only way to avoid most of the traps was to follow a small hidden trail over the first few ridges, and then winding back down directly into the compound.

Even the snowmobile trail itself was treacherous. The blades sunk into the powdery snow, which, in places, piled feet high on either side of you. You also had to be vigilant for hidden fissures that, with one false turn, could allow the mountain to swallow you whole.

Darkness had lifted just enough to make out silhouettes against the snowy backdrop when you came into view of the Base. Cresting over a final ridge, you could faintly make out the structure below you.

Kylo stopped to survey the large compound. Kneeling beside his snowmobile, he retrieved his rifle from his shoulder and rested it over the seat, aimed at the Base. The scope gathered more light than the eye and through it, Kylo could make out a spattering of sentry guards. They stood outside, hiding their faces in their jackets from the cold.

Clicking off the safety, Kylo waited until two of the guards were out of view of each other. He squeezed the trigger, sending a silenced round through one guard’s forehead. Bolting another round into the chamber, he sighted and shot the second man before the body of the first had slumped fully to the ground.

Kylo waited patiently behind his rifle, still as a marble sculpture in the freezing cold, for another guard to appear.

He was soon rewarded when two men stepped outside to light cigarettes on a second story balcony. Kylo shot them both through their heads before either could register any danger.

Several long minutes of waiting yielded no more guards. You had a short window from the time that Kylo killed all the exterior sentry guards until their absence was noted.

Mounting his snowmobile again, Kylo surged forward.

The snowdrifts were piled high around the Base. High enough to reach the second story balcony. You could both easily sneak through the upper door that the two smoking guards had exited and left unlocked by their untimely deaths.

It seemed almost too easy. That you could maneuver unseen so close to the structure. Kylo found an especially deep pile of snow amid a boulder field. Large rocks and crevasses abutting the Base shielded your snowmobiles perfectly.

Only minutes were needed for the two of you to reach the balcony and its two lonely corpses, already close to frozen where they had fallen. As you passed them, you saw an icy sheen on the pooled blood and a frosty glaze over the men’s eyes.

Kylo walked ahead of you, gun held at the ready, ensuring he met any danger first, protecting you with his broad frame.

Slipping inside, Kylo immediately sighted three more men. One of whom faced away, two held a conversation inside the room.

Kylo silently drew his second gun. His motion drew the attention of one of the men. Kylo shot the man through the eye as the offending organ locked onto Kylo. Immediately switching targets, Kylo shot the second man before he could react and in instant succession, he sent a bullet into the remaining man’s head with his left hand. All three bodies fell to the floor almost in unison.

Once secure, Kylo motioned for you to follow him inside.

You stepped into a sprawling lounge furnished with couches and a theater style entertainment room.

The first sensation that hit you was the welcoming warmth of the room, ushering feeling back into your frozen limbs.

The second thing that registered, hitting you with a wave of nausea, was a voice you hadn’t heard in months.

Kylo’s head and both guns jerked toward the voice, ready to make those words the other man’s last.

“I never expected you, Y/N, to be the one to put a chink in the Black Knight’s armor,” a familiar foreign accent resounded through the room.

You and Kylo both fixed upon the source. On the large wall mounted TV, a recording of the man you both knew as DJ played. The black haired exotic looking man on the screen absently spoke to you both as if you were all old acquaintances.

“Trust you to find the weakness of the most formidable Professional in the game,” DJ laughed pleasantly. “What do they call that? A honeypot?”

Kylo looked at you, his features reflecting the same confusion that riddled your mind.

“Although, I couldn’t have planned this better myself. How else could I get you both in the same place at the same time? Let alone, have you come to me willingly as a pair.” The man on the screen smiled ominously into the room.

“Kylo, we have to run,” you said urgently, realization crashing over you in an icy wave, as you reached to grab Kylo’s arm. “Now!”

Meeting your eyes, the same understanding hit Kylo, his eyes widening.

Shoving his guns back into their holsters, Kylo lunged at you. He pushed you forcibly back out of the exterior door onto the balcony, running behind you. He didn’t take your hand or arm this time, he pushed you powerfully ahead from behind, keeping his body between you and the looming danger.

You had just reached the end of the balcony, aiming for the snowdrift that would lead to your snowmobile, when the explosion triggered.

The Agency’s Base exploded from the ground up. Igniting at its foundation, the self-destruct mechanism of the building tore it apart from the inside out in a torrent of exploding fire.

The force of the blast knocked you stumbling sideways, away from the building, out over the edge of the balcony. Only Kylo’s powerful arm stopped you. He grabbed you, seemingly from midair, pulling you back to his side. He charged the last few feet through the blast, an unstoppable force, to dive off the balcony into the snowdrift, pulling you with him.

Fire erupted on his heels. The explosion tore through the balcony just as your feet left it. The force of the blast propelled you both further from the building, along with other flaming debris.

Half sliding and half running, Kylo pulled you with him as he plowed through the snow toward the boulders that hid your vehicles.

Another explosion boomed behind you, shaking the ground under your feet like an earthquake. The snowmobiles were in sight, only yards away, safety behind the protection of the boulders.

Grabbing you around the waist, Kylo tackled you the last few feet, slamming you down into the snow behind the boulders and covering your body with his, just as the final explosion ripped through the building and surrounding landscape. The boulders saved you both, taking the brunt of the debris that shot out of the explosion like a shrapnel mine.

The sound itself was enough to daze you. Your ears rang with a static buzzing whine. You thought it was only in your own head that the world spun and shook.

When Kylo yanked you roughly to your feet, unsteady and staggering himself, you realized that the ground itself was shaking. A deep rumbling echoed through the mountain valley, separate from any explosion.

“Avalanche,” Kylo gritted, as he dragged you to the nearest snowmobile. “The explosion triggered a fucking avalanche.”

Kylo seated you on the snowmobile and climbed onto the seat in front of you. He pulled your arms around his waist, pressing your hands to lock together around him.

As soon as your fingers laced, Kylo gunned the snowmobile ahead with as much torque as it had.

You wanted to bury your face into Kylo’s back, seek comfort in his strength, but your gaze was drawn behind you.

Turning your head to look over your shoulder, you saw the packed snow covering the mountain behind you falling away. An ocean of snow crashing down the mountain, boiling and churning, as it loomed down upon you.

The wind hit you first. A bluster of frozen air and snow pushed ahead by the avalanche hit you both with a force that felt as strong as a hurricane. Kylo was blind, driving ahead through the swirling snow. Around you, the valley reverberated with the howl of a freight train and rumble of a rockslide, as a mountainside worth of snow fell toward you.

The trail ascended quickly, carrying you both away from the howling avalanche that chased close behind you.

When you crested the ridge from which Kylo had shot the guards, Kylo slowed. Looking behind, the avalanche had mostly settled, only a few remnants still sliding down the mountain.

The Base was completely covered. Snow filled the valley yards deep above the tallest point of the building. Looking now, it was as though it had never even existed.

You couldn’t believe what had happened, the extent of the destruction that had occurred in only a few short minutes that felt like hours. You did not know firsthand what being in shock felt like, but this feeling had to be close.

Suddenly, another deep booming sound startled you, echoing through the mountains.

Kylo was fucking laughing, rich and loud.

“Well, that should cover our tracks for a while,” Kylo huffed. “It will take weeks for anyone to dig down through all that white bullshit to start counting bodies. We’re covered from both the eyes of the Agency and the public.”

“We were due for some good luck, I guess.” Your voice shook from the cold and from your own relieved laughter.

Kylo slept in much later the following morning. It was you who rose first, silently and stealthily, pulling on his large black shirt. Only the Matterhorn watched you from outside your window.

Standing beside the bed, you looked down at Kylo’s wild hair and resting features. Everything about him looked so soft in the early morning light. Only the angry ragged scar that split his cheek revealed the danger and hardness within him. He was sleeping deeply, a light snore thrumming in his chest.

Smiling to yourself, you wondered if he was worn out more from the fighting and the killing, or from the three rounds of fucking you afterward. An hours long celebration between your thighs.

His black suit jacket was draped over a chair near the bed, covering his shoulder holsters that hung on the chair beneath.

Walking to the chair, you trailed your fingers along the shoulders of the jacket, feeling the fine material under your touch. You could faintly smell Kylo on his clothes, his unique scent tinged with adventure.

Your hand dipped under the jacket’s lapel to retrieve one of his handguns from its holster. Raising the gun to shoulder level, you traced your opposite finger along its barrel as you admired it more closely.

Soft rustling from the bed drew your attention. Kylo, awakened by the absence of your body next to his, propped himself back against the headboard. One arm looped behind his head of beautifully tousled hair, the other shoved beneath a pillow, he smiled at you groggily.

“I have a bigger gun over here under the sheets, if you like playing with dangerous things,” he teased, his voice thick and gravely with sleep.

Still holding his gun in your raised fist, you walked to the foot of the bed, eyes fixed on your charmingly disheveled man.

“You can’t imagine, Kylo, how flattered I was when you told me that you had always wanted to meet me,” you confessed, watching him closely, as his brow furrowed in confusion. “I have wanted to meet you for a long time, myself.”

Kylo didn’t respond. He only watched you with his lupine gaze, now fully alert.

“The contract on you didn’t go public because you failed to kill me in Prague,” you spoke calmly. “It was because I failed to kill you.”

“You’re the Ronin,” Kylo stated, his lips turning into a devilish grin. “I am impressed.”

“I was equally impressed by the Black Knight. Your fearsome reputation doesn’t do you justice.” Your warm smile contrasted sharply with the weapon in your hand, held poised to aim and fire in the blink of an eye. “You never suspected me?”

“I wouldn’t say that, lovely.” Faster than your eyes could follow, Kylo pulled his hand from beneath the pillow, a smaller handgun held in his grip. Aimed at you. “I had my suspicions.”

“I continue to be impressed, handsome,” you said evenly, an eyebrow raised in admiration. “But we both know your safety’s on.”

Kylo huffed an ironic laugh at your words.

“Who am I kidding?” He asked himself more than you. “I don’t have it in me, gorgeous.” Kylo lowered his gun, dropping it onto the mattress, and reached his arm behind his head to join its mate. His expression was almost amused as he looked at you and the gun you held, his amber eyes gleaming in the early morning sunlight. “They say that women make better killers than men. Ferocious creatures.”

At his words, you allowed your own hand to fall, dropping your gun onto the mattress. Following it, you lowered yourself onto the bed, crawling up to Kylo and the warm smile that bloomed on his lips.

Moving up the bed, you returned to your place at his side, feeling his arm lock around you and pull you tight against his body.

“You know what we have to do now,” Kylo said while kissing along your hairline.

“Of course.” You nuzzled into his firm chest. “You can consider it a second date.”

“We’ll have to kill them all,” Kylo affirmed, his hand rubbing you gently. “We’ll kill them all together.”

“Yes,” you agreed simply. You placed a kiss to his chest before pushing yourself up, swinging your leg over his hips to straddle him. You looked down at him with a smile as you started to grind yourself on his rapidly hardening cock. “As you said, fortune favors the bold.”
