Chapter Text
As a padawan of Master Plo, you spent a lot of time with The 104th Battalion or the famous Wolfpack. Needless to say, you always had a certain interest in Commander Wolffe. There was just something about him that caught your eyes. Maybe it was his nearly all-time toughness yet secretly cared for his men, or maybe it was his not-so-discreet soft attitude toward you.
You were each other’s rock, that was for sure. There were so many sleepless nights that you would sneak into each other’s room, talking or just enjoying each other’s company. You knew no matter what you could always count on him, and you trusted your life on him.
You were there when the Malevolence destroyed Master Plo’s fleet. You, Master Plo, Wolffe, Sinker, and Boost were the only survivors. You lost most of the men, your friends, it was truly a dark day for all of you and the Republic.
But unfortunately, the universe, or to be exact, the Council had another plan for you. The council decided that it was time for you to be knighted, to be a Jedi Knight. And they thought that it would be beneficial that you fought alongside Master Kenobi and The 212th Battalion. You were supposed to be happy, right? You got knighted, but you never thought that you would be deployed to another battalion.
“I heard you got knighted as a Jedi Knight, Commander. Congratulations!” Wolffe said, his lips upturned. “Though I don’t know what exactly that means. Are you a General now like General Plo?”
“Thank you, Wolffe. But seriously, stop calling me commander when we’re alone, it’s (y/n). And no, I’m not a General yet.” You said.
“Sorry, Comma-, I mean (y/n).”
You chuckled at his words, though he was all tough-looking when around his men. He let his guard down around you.
But you still had to tell him about the council’s decision that you wouldn’t be able to stay with him. You took a deep breath, “ Okay, You can do this.” You said to yourself. “ The council said that I can’t continue to serve with you guys… They think that I fight alongside Master Kenobi and his men will be helpful to the war since I am said to be strong with the force.” You said quietly.
“Oh… That’s…” Wolffe murmured, his right hand stroking his chin.
Yeah…’’
You could sense that he was troubled by this announcement, you wished you didn’t have to go, you wished you could stay. But you couldn’t.
“I guess I wouldn’t see you much then.’’ You said sadly, looking down at the floor.
“Yeah.” Wolffe smiled melancholy.
Surprisingly, Wolffe pulled you into a hug. His arms wrapped around your small form like he was saying he didn’t want you to leave. You did the same, wrapped your arms around his muscular body, breathing in his scent. He put his head on top of your head, tucking you under his chin. Your face pressed against his chest. You felt so small, so safe in his arms.
Stars, only if you didn’t have to leave. You knew it was not like you wouldn’t see each other ever again, but the war, you both knew that there was a chance that one or both of you would never return home.

The council had decided to promote you to General since they had seen your growth during the deployment with The 212th and Master Kenobi. As a General, you were eligible to be part of the Republic Strategy conference . During this conference, the council would officially announce you as a Co-General of The 104th.
You and Master Plo were walking down the aisle to the Conference Room,“I sense you are on edge, young one.’’ Master Plo said.
“Yes, Master.” You answered.
“But not just because of the Conference, right?’’
“Uh...What, no!’’ You panicked a little. It was no use to hide actually, yet, you still tried.
“I’m sure Wolffe would be glad to see you, little one.” Your Master trailed, patting your shoulder.
Right, it had been almost a year since you last saw Wolffe. You last heard about him was when the Wolfpack got their new starship. Did he still have the same feelings for you? Or he had already put it behind? Or maybe he found someone else? Millions of thoughts flashing through your head, you lost yourself in your thoughts.
“ Nothing much had changed…’’ You heard your Master’s voice distantly, you couldn’t really comprehend what he was saying.
"Young one, did you hear me? Are you okay?’’ Your Master’s concerned voice snapped you out of your thoughts.
“Yes, Master. I’m just nervous… that’s all.” You murmured.
“As I said, I’m sure Wolffe would be happy to see you. You have nothing to worry about.” Your Master assured you.
Two of you had arrived at the conference room, it was crowded with Masters and Commanders. Most of them were just chatting, you saw Anakin complain about something to Master Kenobi, who was looking amused by his former padawan’s comments. Typical, you thought to yourself. You had just seen this so many times during your deployment with Master Kenobi, and it never failed to make you chuckle.
Then, a familiar figure walked toward you and Master Plo. It was Wolffe . His armor was now painted with the color gray, you understood it was a way for him to honor his lost brothers. You couldn’t really see his face since his helmet was on, but you knew , you knew his eyes were on you. It never failed to amaze you just how handsome he looked when he was in his armor.
He was now faced to face with you and Master Plo, "Generals.’’ He said, giving you and Master Plo a curt nod.
“Commander, it has been a while.’’ You said sheepishly.
“It’s nice to have you back, General.’’ Wolffe said to you.
Noticing that this was his cue to let his children catching up, “I have something need to discuss with General Kenobi, I’ll leave you two to it.’’ Master Plo said.
Before you could stop your Master from leaving, “Master, wait! Master!’’ you shouted nervously. You couldn’t believe your Master dared to leave you at this moment, leaving you here with Wolffe alone, alone!
Wolffe gestured you to follow him to the corner where it was less crowded.
“You look great, Gener-, I mean (y/n).” He said.
You chuckled at his words, he was still the same, “ your Wolffe was still your Wolffe.” Wait, what was that, “ Your Wolffe?” You were never together, why would you think of that? Kriff, you really need to get yourself together.
“Thank you. You too, Wolffe.” You replied. You noticed he hadn’t taken off his helmet yet, so you asked “Why don’t you take off your helmet, Wolffe? I remember you were the one who always complaining that it was not comfortable wearing it.”
“I… uh… may look different now…” He mumbled.
You could sense he was nervous, and it occurred to you the story of how he lost his eye when they came across Ventress.
"Hey.’’ You said, putting your hands on each side of his helmet. “I’m sure you are still the most handsome Commander I’ve ever seen, and that would never change, no matter what.’’ You added. You waited for a second, waiting for his consent.
He put his hands on top of yours, helping you to lift off his helmet. He looked still the same, apart from the long scar on the right side of his face and the cybernetic eye. His eyes were looking down the floor, avoiding yours.
You trailed your finger lightly on his scar, another hand turned his face to look at you. “You are still the most handsome Commander to me, Wolffe.’’ You whispered. “I’m sorry I wasn’t there to protect you…”
He melted into your touch, closing his eyes for a while to savor this moment. “Don’t be. It’s not your fault, there was nothing you could do. I’m alive, you are alive. That’s all matter to me.’’ He whispered. He snaked his arm around your waist, pulling you closer to him.
You trailed your hand to his nape, getting as close as you could to him. It felt right, you hadn’t felt like this since… since your goodbyes . It was like the universe had stopped just for the two of you, for a brief moment, you didn’t have to think about anything else.
“I should have said this to you a lot sooner, well, I was going to tell you back then. You know, when you got knighted. But I got cold feet…’’ He murmured. “I love you, (y/n). I always have.’’ He added, looking into your eyes. He stroked your face with his hand.
You felt the warmth of his hand, you did the same for him, you put one of your hands on his face, caressing it. “I love you, Wolffe. Since I first lay eyes on you.’’ You whispered.
His gaze flickered to your lips, “ Can I?” He asked, shifting his gaze between your eyes and lips.
“Please.” You whisper, slowly closing gaps between you two.
Wolffe took the hint and leaned down, giving you an experimental kiss.
You kissed him back, trailing your hands to his nape. You melted into his touch, his lips’ warmth against yours. His lips were soft, unlike his stoic facade he had in front of his men. The way he was kissing you was incredibly gentle. He took his time with you, savoring every touch of you. He nibbled your bottom lip, tugging it a little.
You felt dizzy, no one had ever made you feel like this before, and only him, only him could make you feel like this. He made you feel like there were only two of you in the universe, the peacefulness, the security, the calmness, and home. He was your home.
Both of you were so wrapped up at this moment that you didn’t notice someone else’s presence. “Commander, (y/n).’’ Your Master, Plo Koon cleared his throat.
You jumped away from Wolffe and nervously tried to come up with some great excuse. Wolffe was too surprised to say anything, his face was painted with embarrassment. And to be fair, you didn’t think any excuse could make this look better. “I...uh…’’ You said quietly.
“No need for explanation, young one. I know.’’ Your Master cut you out, saving you from your attempt.
“What..? You knew, Master? How did you know?” You asked.
“Let’s just say you two aren’t very good at hiding.” Your Master chuckled. “And I’m surprised that it took you this long to confess you’re in love with each other.” He added, patting yours and Wolffe’s shoulder. “ I’m happy for you, my young (y/n), Wolffe.”
“Thank you, General.’’
“Thank you, Master.”
“Come, the meeting is about to start.” Your Master said.
