Chapter 1: Chapter One I guess

Chapter Text

In all honesty, Tommy didn't want to move. But his dad seemed so happy about it, so he had to play along (he didn't actually he just wanted to put others first for once).

So there he was, in this bitchass car with his parents, driving to their new apartment complex in New Orleans.

"So, Tommy I heard there are some kids your age in the apartments, that sounds exiting doesn't it?" his dad asked.

"I s'pose." he responded blankly

"Tommy." his stepmother said sharply, somewhat like a warning.

"It sounds exiting. Doesn't it?"

"Yes ma'am, it sounds exiting." he replied, taking sudden interest in his shoes.

So, this apartment complex was shit, the walls were cracking and vines were everywhere. Whatever, he was to tired to verbally complain to his dad.

As Tommy went to turn around sudden shivers ran down his spine and he suddenly wanted to run very, very far away from this building. But be didn't actually feel like getting yelled at by his stepmom later so he shrugged it off.

He turned around and walked to the rusty, old Nissan car that his dad owned and got his small backpack out of the backseat.

"Hey Tommy the apartment is on the 2nd floor." his dad said tossing the keys in his direction.

He fumbled a bit, but did catch them responding with, "Okay, thanks dad!".

So Tommy, with his shitty backpack that was falling apart and had patches everywhere, decided to walk into the building.

It smelled like stale air, and mold. Whatever, he'd complain about it later.

He started walking towards the elevator when a very tall teenager interrupted him, "The elevator doesn't work very well, two people got stuck already." this stupid man (Tommy hated men, very much) had two toned hair, very large bags under his eyes, and they were tall, very tall.

Tommy decided that he didn't like them all that much, but either way, it's always the right thing to do, and Tommy was no wrongin, so he asked them,

"What are your pronouns so I can complain about you later without misgendering you." without any hint of sarcasm at all in his voice.

"Um, he/they i suppose? But why would you complain about me, I've literally just met you, and all I said was that the elevator didn't work?" this tall guy asked in slight disbelief.

"None of your business, bitch, I just don't like you." Tommy said, before taking the stairs to the second floor.

Now that he thinks about it, it was probably a bit rude of him to say that to that boy, but he honestly didn't care. As long as his stepmom didn't find out, he'd be fine. Although he was definitely going to apologize later.

While walking down the second floor hallway, he bumped into another fucking teenager, this one was shorter than two tone boy, and had brown hair, his hair was over his eyes, and he was wearing a green shirt.

"Oi! Watch where you're going bitch!" Tommy semi-shouted at this brown hair kid.

"Oop, sorry, you're Tommy right? My aunt told me about you, you're new here, right?"

"Um yeah I suppose, what's your name?" Tommy asked, surprised at the energy that radiated off this kid.

"My names Tubbo! My pronouns are he/him and I like bees!" Tubbo stuck out his hand energetically.

Tommy shook it slowly, and after a brief pause Tubbo added thoughtfully "I like bees cause they buzz, and they like flowers".

"That's cool, I like butterflies, they're pretty and spread pollen. Oh yeah my pronouns are he/him" Tommy said happily.

"Alright Tommy, I best be on my way, gotta take care of the family, y'know, cool guy stuff." Tubbo said waving and running down the stairs swiftly.

"Bye Tubbo." Tommy said waving weakly.

Tommy eventually made it to his door, and unlocked it without much effort.

As soon as the door opened he was greeted with an unwanted chill running down his spine, and the smell of somehow even staler air, along with the smell of an obscene amount of fabreeze.

He looked around the apartment, taking in his surroundings, there were two bedrooms, a very small kitchen and dining room combo room, one bathroom and a living room area.

He looked into both of them bedrooms, one had a queen sized mattress lying on the floor, along with some of his parents belongings, and the other one was empty, with a sleeping bag on the cold hard ground.

That was where he would be sleeping tonight.

He set his bag down and flopped onto his sleeping bag. Today had been a long day.
