traveling through time(and universes)

Summary:

There are three things you need to know about Kusuo Saiki. Hes got way too many powers, way too many problems, and HATES bugs. Which is how he spooked himself and got accidently teleported to the My Hero Acedemia Universe.

Here he has just as many problems, which include a little talking rat, an over energetic idiot, and a sleep deprived guy who needs a haircut and also hates him. Will he make it back to his own universe or be stuck in this one, only time (and my ability to consistently write) will tell.

Notes:

so please read before you start this fic be cause there are gonna be some aspects of this that are different ig.

for one saiki has autism. i don’t know how well i’m going to be able to communicate that because i’m not the best writer but i’ll try.
i’m going to be basing him off a lot of my experience with my neurodivergentness

he’s going to be mute without his powers because after not using your voice for your entire life you probably cant talk very well.

i’m writing this on my phone so if ur on a laptop the paragraphs are gonna be kinda short.

this is set in the year after the anime ends, which i believe is year two of japanese highschool. saiki is 16 and a half in this fic. he’s been dating toritisuka, aiura, and akechi for about 6 months. they’re not in this but it’s mentioned multiple times later on.

i think that’s everything. enjoy the fic!

Chapter Text

Shōta Aizawa had been having a good day. A very good day in fact. His students' grades were up, Mineta hadn’t said a single weird sexist comment since lunch, and he had a date with a very lovely blonde scheduled later at a fancy restaurant just for Pro Heros. Right now however, he had to grade papers, a tedious task. His eyes flickered back and forth between the answer sheet and the tests.

Right. Right. Wrong. Right. An overall 89 percent. Good job Denki. Those study groups with Bakugou must be working. He drummed his pen against the table, looking up at the ceiling with disinterest. He should really get a TA to do this for him. What was he gonna wear for his date?

As Aizawa contemplated which of his many, expensive suits he was going to wear, a boy was falling out of time and space. Kusuo Saiki to be specific. You see, Kusuo was just trying to help out his mom, by cleaning up the house while she and his father were out on a date. Romance. Gross. He’d been on a cleaning streak, already done with the upstairs and moving onto the kitchen. Just as he had been telekinesis-ing the fridge so he could sweep under it, a bug wiggled out from under it, straight for HIM. He did Not scream like a little girl thank you very much, just kinda yelped a little and promptly teleported away.

Normally when he accidentally teleported due to a bug, he landed in that abandoned texas town, shaking and shivering. But this time he was dragged in a purple, swerling tube. There was this pressure all around him but he was weightless at the same time. He was flying through the air at breakneck speed. It was like his atoms were trying to divorce themselves. He heard someones ragged, panicked breathing and realized it was his. His head was the worst, it felt like he’d put it into a hydraulic press and flicked the on button well. On.

Saiki wheezed and curled into the best ball he could to hold his head between his knees. Trying to breathe, he lifted his head against the wind and tried to see where he was going. It was all just purple. Dark, murky purple. He was choking on it. It was in his mouth and his nose and his lungs. He couldn’t breathe around it. Suddenly an opening appeared in the darkness. It grew closer and closer rapidly. He was crashing through that opening almost as soon as he’d noticed it.

As I was saying, Aizawa was contemplating which suit to wear on his date tonight when a dark, misty, portal opened up on his right. He immediately jumped up out of his chair, flicking his glasses down onto his eyes and drawing his capture weapon out. He hit the button on his U.A.-issued staff bracelet that notified the other hero/teachers he needed help.
This looks exactly like one of Kirogiri’s portals, but how on earth had he gotten inside UA? There are security measures and if someone got inside and the cameras didn't have their face in their systems, it would send a notification to everyone’s phones. Did the villains have a new way of infiltrating the high school? If so they weren’t safe

.
.
.
Nothing happened. The portal didn’t dispense any villains, it just kinda swirled and floated there looking like a portal. Aizawa relaxed slightly but didn’t let his guard down. Slowly, he creeped towards it, kicking his swirly chair out of the way. Still, nothing happened

BOOM. Something shot out of the portal right into Shouji and Hagakure’s desks, sending them flying. It was a… person. An individual. And then the portal closed right up, as if it had never been there at all.

Many things went through Aizawa’s mind in the 3.46 seconds after the portal closed and he was left with this mystery person. One, confusion. If this really was an attack, why had they sent the attacker one his own. The last time, Aizawa had taken down dozens of villains on his own, by himself. The LOV knew he was more powerful than a single villain so why just send one. Maybe it was a test, maybe they had sent a creature they manufanced like Nomu, to see how it fared against them. He should proceed very warily.

He cautiously took a step forward, peering around his desk. The being had turned over onto his side and thrown up. It was shaking profusely and didn’t seem to even notice him. From his vantage point. Aizawa could see a pink ball poking out of his skull and bright green glasses. Odd but not the weirdest thing he's seen from these villains. The person was also wearing an apron, for inxpecible reasons

Saiki was dying, He had to be. There was no other reason to be in this much pain. He knew he probably looked ridiculous to anyone watching, gasing like a fish and coughing and shaking. But his entire body hurt, way more than any of Kusuke experiments ever could, he was pretty sure Coughs and wheezes were filling his mouth.

His eyes were wide open and so was his mouth like a fish as his brain tried to process the amount of pain he was in. His stomach was bubbling and his mouth was filled with saliva. Saiki had never thrown up before (perks of being a god) but he’d read about it online so he turned to his side and vomited. His arm shifted and he had to squeeze all his facial muscles into a grimace to keep from making noise. There was shuffling behind him.

He startled and whipped around faster than a snap, staring up at the man. He was taller than him, he could tell that just by staring up at him. He had long black hair that was floating? He had weird goggles on and was holding a scarf threateningly in his direction. He looked eerily familiar but in the state he was in, Kusuo couldn’t place why.

The human looking being looked up at him, clearly startled. It was still breathing quickly and raggedly. Both of its elbows on the ground, propping up Its tense body. The left side of its shocked face was covered in blood from a cut Aizawa could see. Must be hidden by its hair. It wasn’t moving, must be just as surprised to see him as he was to see it.

“Don’t move. Don’t use your quirk. Keep your hands where I can see them. This will be much more painless for you if you cooperate. You are being detained for trespassing, property damage and villainy Anything you say can and will be used against you. Do you understand?” Fuck, where are the rest of his colleagues. They should be here by now.

The being laying on the ground made no indication it understood him or even heard him for that matter. It literally didn’t move except for its still ragged inhaling. Maybe it was in shock. Aizawa was starting to think perhaps it wasn’t a villain.

The pain was fading at this point. So was the adrenaline, leaving him more tired than on that plane during that school trip to Okinawa. The weird man above him was talking but none of it was reaching his ears. It sounded like he was hearing it from underwater or from the opposite side of a soccer field. He looked around at his surroundings. They looked so familiar but why. He’d obviously never been here before.

Something clicked in his brain.

Oh. Oh. Oh fuck. That was. That was Shōta Aizawa. From. From My Hero Academia. And he was saying something but more importantly, he was in My Hero Academia. Like not a real place. Like he was in an anime. Oh my god Oh my god
Oh my god Oh my god Oh my god Oh my god. This was an actual nightmare. How on earth had he done this, what the hell.

The human on the ground finally stopped looking around and met his eyes and then went still. A horrified, shocked expression fell over its face. Instantaneously, it started trying to get away. Aizawa took a step back as it struggled upright.
“Hey, stay where you are.” It ignored him.

“Don’t move or I will be forced to use force to restrain you.” Come on buddy, don’t make me do this.

Saiki continued to ignore him. He could not be here. It was fundamentally criminal. This was an anime. The impending feeling of wrongness was sending him spiraling back into panic. His senses weren’t registering anything other than go go go Go!!!. He raced to the door. All of a sudden, there was something in front of him. He ground his heels into the ground to avoid crashing into it. He looks up. It was another teacher, Present Mic. Kusuo panicked at this and tried to go around him. Mic caught him under his arm. He didn’t even mean to, it was just a reflex.

“Hey! What th- hell? Dude chillaz! Ow! Shōta, who is this?” Mic struggles to hold up the person as they wrestle against his grip and stare up at him through bright pink strands of hair, looking terrified.

Before Shōta could answer him, the accused villain promptly found his footing on Mic’s obnoxious leather jacket, propelled himself into the floor, and continued running in a random direction.

“Follow him! He appeared in one of Kurogiri’s portals!” Shōta shouted at his useless husband, who was just standing there in shock.

“Wha? What??” Mic sputtered, running after him.

Kusuo had no idea where he was going. He raced down indistinguishable hallways and identical doors, turning left and right at random. He’d tried to teleport several times but for some reason he couldn’t. His running theory was that being transported into a literal anime sapped his powers for a while and they needed to build up again. Meanwhile, those two teachers were still chasing him and when he looked back, he could see that two others had joined them. He ran harder, turning a corner and stumbling, and then ducking into a random door and closed it quietly before his pursuer could see which one it had been. He held his breath.

The four teachers rounded the corner and when they didn’t see him, they stopped, trying to catch their breath.

“They must have gone into one of the rooms. Everyone split up and search. Start clearing the rooms closest to us and work your ways down. ” Mic instructed in a loud voice. He turned and finger-gunned at Midnight.

“Midnight. Go get several quirk suppressing handcuffs, one for everyone and tell any teachers or staff you see the situation.”

“On it.”

Mic pivoted on his feet and finger-gunned at his husband now as Midnight ran off.

“Aizawa-”

“Already on it.” Aizawa pulled out his phone and texted someone quickly. There was silence except for the rest of the teachers' footsteps as they started searching the school’s rooms. Suddenly a slight rumbling sound could be heard. It was the sound of thick metal encasing all the exits to the school.

Back in the, as Kusuo found out, small supply closet, Kusuo was shitting himself. Had this happened at any other time of the day when no one was at school, he would have had time to reoriented himself and figure something out. But now he was trapped in a tiny, dirty closet, while high school teachers with superpowers hunted him down. He grimaced and pressed his head against the side of one of the walls, suppressing a whine.

The door handle jingled. Kusuo straightened immediately, turning to stare intensely at it, hands still brushed against the wall. He was so glad he’d remembered to lock it earlier. Kusuo willed with all his might, trying to use his mind control to convince the person on the other side of the door it was empty.

The jingling stopped. Kusuo didn’t move. He didn’t move until the voice outside the door called out “Clear” and he could hear footsteps walking away. He didn’t move until he couldn’t hear any more voices and he was sure everyone had either moved to search elsewhere or given up. He didn’t move until his body was shaking from the exertion of the day.

Then he promptly tucked himself in the corner between the wall and the shelving and fell asleep, phone still on from looking at pictures of his partners
