Work Text:

Iura and Ohjo both work in the same company and they have always kept their relationship secret to anyone at the company to prevent rumors from forming in the first place. Both of them also know that sometimes, some situations are unavoidable, especially since they tell everyone in the company that they are single. They both understand that but sometimes, they can't control the ugly feeling that would sometimes surface. They are all mature adults, but sometimes things never go that way.

Ohjo, despite his sickly appearance, is popular with the girls from his sales department. Iura is the head of the design department. They promised not to work in the same department in case they slip up or something. Sometimes Iura would catch the girls making moves on his boyfriend but there is nothing he could physically do. How the bespectacled man wish he was in those women places. Of course, such a selfish request is impossible.

Iura would just force himself to look away and try to concentrate on his work. He knows that Ohjo is throwing glances his way but he just ignored them. He don't want to seem like he had been consumed by jealousy, even if that is truly the case. Iura is in his office again. His office is an enclosed one with a one way glass panel. Ohjo just so happen to stand outside his office when one of the girls in his department tripped. Ohjo, being a gentleman he is, caught the girl before she landed on the floor. Iura who saw this just felt like he is being crushed.

Iura looked away from that scene and gazed out of the window. Then a knock came from the door which made Iura look at the door. Ohjo is right there with files in his hands. What would his boyfriend need from him? They were after all in different departments. Still Iura let his boyfriend come in. Ohjo placed the files on Iura’s table. “These are the files for our newest project. It’s handled by the head. He wants you to work on advertising and the design of the product.” Ohjo says briefly.

Iura very much wants to reach out to Ohjo, touch him or something. Being so close yet at the same time so far, is literal torture. “Is something wrong?” Ohjo asked. Of course, Ohjo has always been in tune with Iura’s moods. “I’m fine. I’ll look over these files then communicate it to your head.” Iura forces a smile on his face. Obviously, he wishes to be next to Ohjo all the time but work is work and relationships aren’t suitable in the workplace anyway. “Kei, you know you can tell me anything.” Ohjo says as he looks over at Iura, concerned.

“We can talk about it when we are home. We promised to keep private and work separate.” Iura simply said. Ohjo could only sigh and leave the office. Iura kinda regrets but they have to keep to their rules if they want to continue their relationship. Whatever happens at work should only stay at work. Still no matter how hard they try to keep work and private separate, there are just somethings that you simply just can’t overlook.

Iura and Ohjo leave the company building together. It was the end of the work day and they are spending a little of alone time. “So, care to tell me about earlier?” Ohjo asks as they make their way to the station. Iura kept quiet, trying to gather his thoughts as he thinks about how to relay his feelings. They are a couple and communication is definitely key. “I just feel uncomfortable when all those girls stick to you.” Iura starts.

Ohjo doesn’t really react or say anything, he just kept quiet and listened. “It’s not like I’m stopping you from interacting with those people from your department, but I feel uncomfortable with the way they were touching you and all.” Iura sighs as he fiddles with the handle on his briefcase. Ohjo just nods slightly in understanding. “You don’t know how the girls take advantage of your ‘kind’ nature.” Iura scratches the back of his head. He knows damn well how Ohjo is.

“All I’m trying to say is, I wish it was me you were touching or talking to.” Iura ruffles his hair. He is a little frustrated he can’t put his feelings into simple words. “So~ you’re jealous.” Ohjo smirks as he takes Iura’s hand, not really caring about the people around them. “No, I’m not.” Iura denies. Ohjo didn’t drop that smirk. Ohjo just knew how Iura was truly feeling without Iura actually spelling it all out. The couple only let go of each other’s hand when they reach the station so they could tap in at the gantry.

The rest of the way home was relatively quiet. Iura is thinking about whether his actions truly show that he is jealous of those girls who are damn close with Ohjo at the workplace. “If they know your true colours, I really doubt they would still want to be close to you.” Iura mumbles. Ohjo heard it, but said nothing. Iura didn’t say anything more until they step into their shared apartment. “What do you want for dinner?” Iura asks as he removes his shoes and put them on the rack. Ohjo shrugs, “I’ll eat anything you make.”

Iura just hum as a reply before washing his hands and face. He goes into the kitchen and put on the apron. This is the first time Iura has been this quiet. “You’re mad, aren’t you?” Ohjo picks up the newspaper from the coffee table. “No, I’m not. You’re just imagining things.” Iura mutters as he brings out the pots and pans. Yea, Iura is upset. “If you want, I could just tell them to go away. They don’t mean anything to me at all. I’m just using them for my own benefit in the company.” Ohjo didn’t really care of the girls like him or not.

“You don’t have to do that. I am not selfish.” Iura brushes the matter off like it was nothing. If the amount of experience Ohjo got from spending so much time with Iura amounts to any understanding of the bespectacled man at all, Iura minds this issue a lot. “I’ll just tell them to go away. I don’t like them anyway.” Ohjo says nonchalantly. “Suit yourself it’s your life.” Iura replies, indifferent. No matter how indifferent Iura is, Ohjo knows that it made his boyfriend happy and that makes himself happy as well.

If it gives his boyfriend a peace of mind, there is nothing Ohjo wouldn’t do. That is how much Ohjo loves Iura.
