Chapter Text
Seungcheol slumps back to his chair with a sigh.
7pm.
He should have been out of the office two hours ago but it is a luxury he cannot afford.
Finally done with the paperworks due early tomorrow morning, Seungcheol clocks out and drags his exhausted self out of the building. He hates going home around this time because traffic is very unforgiving and the rush of people in the subway meant he had to use force just to get in the train.
By the time he got home, it’s almost 9pm. As he punches in the keycode to his door, he contemplates whether to still eat dinner or just head straight to bed. Anyway, if he skips dinner then he would save on some food money and that would mean he can buy a few cans of beer by the end of the week. HE smiles a little, taking off his shoes by the foyer, he already looks forward to that relaxing time because he’s in desperate need of it.
Yeah, he’s just gonna head to bed.
Taking off his tie, he puts his briefcase on the table. But then the light turned on and some confetti exploded. “Happy birthday!!!!!”
Seungcheol stared dumbfounded at his bestfriend.
“Happy birthday happy birthday happy birthday old man!!” Jeonghan danced around him, evne picking up his tie and swirling it over his head in the process. “Since it’s your birthday I’m going to ignore the fact that you’ve missed all my calls and that I’ve waited here since 6pm.”
“What?” Seungcheol fished out his phone from his pocket. “Oh shit, I forgot I put it on silent. I had a meeting.”
“You forgot about your birthday again, didn’t you?”
Seungcheol just shrugged and took off the his pants he was trying to get rid off when Jeonghan happened. “It’s no big deal.”
“But it is! I know you’re getting old but stop being grumpy! Look, here I got you a cake and some beer. Some chicken and jajangmyeon too but it got cold because you took too long. But I ordered some again and it’s on it’s way so don’t worry--”
“What? Why order again? We could just heat it up!”
“Non sense! It wouldn’t taste the same! Next time, be home on time so I wouldn’t have to order double.” Jeonghan nags at him and as if on cue, the doorbell rings and Jeonghan skips out to receive the delivery. He tells Seungcheol to sit on the floor as he prepares the meal. “You really could use a dining table you know? Or a couch. Instead of just eating on the floor.”
Seungcheol shakes his head. “Don’t have the budget for that.”
“Well then let me buy it for you for goodness’ sake! In fact let me please get you a new apartment this building looks like it will collapse with just a few kicks!”
“Shut up. You’re not getting me anything.” Seungcheol said with his mouth filled with his birthday noodles. And it’s not like he doesn’t want to get a dining table or a couch or to move to a better studio, it’s just that he really can’t. Much of his salary he sends back to his family and what little that’s left, he saves up in the bank in hopes to open his own business in the future. He’d do anything to get out of being a corporate slave and if that means several years of enduring this kind of lifestyle then so be it.
“You’re dumb. You have a loaded bestfriend and you don’t want to make use of me. I’m actually very offended.” Jeonghan pretends to sulk while the latter just rolls his eyes at him. “You have a weird logic, that’s why.” and then he sips on his beer. “Why aren’t you eating?”
Jeonghan smiles a knowing smile and Seungcheol gets it immediately. “Then why are you still here? Go and meet up with your boyfriend already.”
“Because I’m an awesome bestfriend and you can’t be alone on your birthday dinner that’s why! God, you’re so lucky to have me.” Seungcheol thinks Jeonghan is so full of himself. But it’s not like what he said isn’t true. He wouldn’t say it out loud but he really is damn lucky to have Jeonghan around. Despite how opposite they are, the friendship just works and they keep each other grounded. Sometimes, Seungcheol even wonders why Jeonghan had stuck with him all these years. He tries not to think that it’s out of pity, but sometimes, he can’t get rid of the thought.
Seungcheol hurriedly ate the noodles and swats his bestfriend away to get rid of him, urging him to leave for his date. “Fine, fine I’m going! Ahh I’m so excited!” Jeonghan exclaims. “I really like this guy, Cheol. He’s good to me and he’s a pretty capable alpha too!I think he might be the one!” Seungcheol just sends him the look. Jeonghan clings to him. “I know we made a pact, Cheollie. But I think he’s going to propose to me tonight! He said there’s something special we need to talk about so I’m really pumped!” Ah, the promise. That silly promise they made twenty years ago. Seungcheol never really thought much of it, he knows it will not happen. Jeonghan is a popular omega-- one that everybody’s after. There’s no way he’ll remain unmated for long and well, even though they did say the promise will take effect once they both reach 30 (Seungcheol just turned 30 today, Jeonghan will, too, in a few months) the chances of that happening is zero. And if Jeonghan’s boyfriend really does propose to him tonight, then it’s really game over.
But not like he ever looked forward to them happening.
“Are you sure you’re okay if I go now?”
“Why wouldn’t I be?”
“But you like birthday cuddles.” Well that’s true. But Seungcheol would never say it out loud. Plus, they should probably stop doing it because they’re grown men and it just-- well it feels weird now. “I should really hook you up with someone, you know? So you’re not lonely and grumpy all the time. Plus someone can cuddle you every night!”
Seungcheol dismissed that idea. “I don’t like sleeping with someone else on the bed. They hog all the space.”
“No, you hog all the space you big baby. I’ll see what I can do and who I can find for you. You need to get laid, Cheollie. You’re wasting away the best of your youth.”
“Whatever, go away now.” Seungcheol resorted to pushing Jeonghan to the door to finally get rid of him. Jeonghan tries to get him with a kiss-y face but Seungcheol shuts the door in his face.
Seungcheol puts his hands on his hips, heaving a deep sigh, he’s left with one problem. How to clean up all the confetti on the floor.
It took him nearly an hour to fix up all the mess. He also stored all the food Jeonghan bought in the fridge. Yes, even the ones he said they shouldn’t heat up anymore because that could be his dinner tomorrow. And then finally… finally he gets to bed.
He thought with how exhausted he feels, he’d immediately fall asleep. But he finds himself tossing and turning and just unable to drift off and before he knew it, it’s already 11pm.
Damn, he really needs to sleep or he surely won’t function well at work tomorrow.
Unfortunately, it’s just not happening for him.
Suddenly, he hears frantic knocks on his door. He jolts up. Who can that be? Definitely not Jeonghan because for sure he’s having a good time with his boyfriend right now-- quite probably engaged, already so who--
“Hannie.”
There stood his bestfriend, eyes swollen and biting his bottom lip. Weight shifting from one foot to another, he asks in a meek voice. “Can I stay here tonight?”
Seungcheol wanted to ask why. Jeonghan left in a good mood earlier-- excited even. So why was he crying? Despite his curiosity, Seungcheol decided it’s best not to ask. He just nods and makes way for his bestfriend to come in.
He keeps his eyes at the copper head man who’s currently ridding himself of his coat and then he heads straight to bed. Then he looks up at Seungcheol and says “What are you doing over there? Get in here, we still have time for your birthday cuddle.” Jeonghan said, looking at the clock and pointing out it’s only past 11.
Seungcheol is dying to know what happened, but he sets it aside and just gets on the bed. Usually, he would face away from Jeonghan everytime they would cuddle, but this time he felt like he needed to comfort his bestfriend too. So he faces him and wraps an arm around his waist, his head nestled on Jeonghan’s arm since his bestfriend is leaning back to the headboard. Jeonghan caresses his arm as he pressed a kiss on top of his head.
“It’s nicer like this.” Jeonghan whispers. “You hugging me back. It’s nicer.”
Seungcheol doesn’t reply but hugs his bestfriend even closer, noting how he can smell the sadness on him. Jeonghan must be really upset. He’s only able to smell Jeonghan’s pheromones a number of times. If only he knows what he can do to make the other feel better.
“I’ll be fine, Cheollie. Go to sleep now.” Jeonghan assures him as if he can read his mind. Seungcheol breathes and was surprised to take in Jeonghan’s calming pheromones-- a deep lavender scent that made him heady and lulled Seungcheol to his sleep.
The following morning greeted Seungcheol with sharp rays of sunshine seeping through his curtains. Ahh, it’s been a while since he woke up because of that. Usually, he’d be up and on the way to work before the sun is up.
Wait….
He jolts up. It’s already 8am!
Fuck fuck fuck.
He pushes a sleeping Jeonghan to the side, cursing at himself for not waking up on time. Usually, he’d be up before his alarm even rings but why didn’t he hear it ring earlier?
Seungcheol rushes to the bathroom and does the quickest shower he’s ever done in his life. He runs around his small apartment, getting himself put together on the fastest time possible.
“Cheollie you’re so loud.” Jeonghan whines as he tosses on the bed. “Come back to bed. It’s so early.”
“Jeonghan I’m already late. I can’t be late today I have a presentation.” Seungcheol jumps around while trying to put on his shoes. “You can stay here but I think you’ll sleep better at your place.”
Jeonghan gets up. “Come on, I’m driving you to work.”
“Huh? No need. I’ll just take the bus.”
“Silly. You slept in because of my amazing birthday cuddle. I have to take responsibility.” and really, when Jeonghan has decided on something, there’s nothing to talk him out of it.
Jeonghan drove like a maniac. Speeding through the highways and honking at everyone who got in his way. Seungcheol feared for his life throughout the entire drive but at least it got him to work just in time for his presentation. He was just about to get out of the car when Jeonghan called him and planted a kiss on his cheek. “You’ll do amazing, Mr. Choi.” leaving Seungcheol flushed as he touched that spot where Jeonghan’s lips were a couple of seconds ago.
Jeonghan sped away and waved back at him like kissing his alpha bestfriend is part of his daily routine. Really, one would think they’re more than friends because who even cuddles while sleeping like that? And that kiss on the cheek? Definitely too friendly. Add to that the fact that they have a lot of questionable love language towards each other (Jeonghan mostly because he’s really showy like that).
Seungcheol shakes away the thoughts and runs inside the building expecting his manager to yell at him, but the old stout man only sends him a look and tells him to get ready for the meeting.
-
Jeonghan still hasn’t told him what happened the night of his birthday which was roughly a week ago. He doesn’t ask, too, because if Jeonghan wants to tell him about it, then he would because he really has a big mouth like that. The fact that he hasn’t yet means it’s a really sensitive topic.
Seungcheol has a hunch. And with Jeonghan partying every other night (the nights in between he spends pestering Seungcheol in his apartment, saying something like how he’s grown attached to Seungcheol’s small bed already) he’s pretty much confirmed it. The omega tries to take him with him, but Seungcheol just isnt really the type of person to find comfort in loud thumping music and crowded places so he never really goes. Unless it’s to pick up a drunk Jeonghan which is what he’s about to do now.
He surprisingly finished work early today and was looking forward to some lazying around in his apartment, maybe rent a playstation or go to a computer shop to let out some steam but no, his bestfriend decided to get wasted. “We told him we’ll take him home but he insisted he’s only going home if it’s with you.” Jisoo, one of Jeonghan’s rich omega friends, called him. “We can wait here until you come. He’s really drunk. Seems upset too. Do you know what happened?”
Seungcheol normally wouldn’t take a taxi but just the thought of his bestfriend drunk on a club couch worries him so much. What if some jerk of an alpha tries to touch his Jeonghan?
Wait.
Seungcheol needed to correct that. That “his” sounded too possessive.
When he got there, he thanked Jisoo and his boyfriend Seokmin for looking after Jeonghan. Jisoo handed him Jeonghan’s keys. “Sorry, we really tried taking him home by ourselves but he’s really insistent on getting you here.”
“It’s okay. I’m glad you called me. Don’t worry, I’ll take him home safely.”
Jisoo smiled. “Of course. You’ve always taken good care of Jeonghan. Makes me wonder why you guys haven’t gotten together yet.” and then the omega clamps his mouth, “Oops. Sorry. I think I’m a little drunk too.”
Seungcheol scooped Jeonghan up in his arms and then took him to his car. He drove a familiar path going to Jeonghan’s luxury apartment near the Han river.
He carried Jeonghan to his penthouse. He’s been going to this place for years now but somehow, he still feels out of place. To say it’s huge is an understatement. Somehow, being here makes him feel heavy. He thinks it’s because he’s reminded how different his and Jeonghan’s worlds really are. How they really shouldn’t have been friends in the first place. And maybe it’s one of the reason why he never really took that “promise” seriously. Because why would even Jeonghan think of settling with someone so below his stature? He’s the son of the governor, born with a silver spoon. He’s also a business man in his own right. Seungcheol’s monthly salary would just be a change in his pocket.
Right, there’s really no chance they could work.
Not that he’s dwelling on that. Just stating the obvious.
He takes Jeonghan to his ridiculously huge bed and then he maneuvers his way to the bathroom in search for a cold towel but not finding one. Only to remember that rich people has disposable cold towels in their fridge. So he takes one of that and returns to Jeonghan’s room.
He sat on the edge of the bed, loosened Jeonghan’s top so he can wipe as much as he can. Brushing stray hair away from the omega’s face, it feels like a long time since he’s properly looked at him. “Why are you even getting drunk over a man, Jeonghan?” he couldn’t help but to mutter as he caressed his bestfriend’s face. “Why were you crying over him?”
He starts wiping Jeonghan’s face, careful so it doesn’t wake him. Then down to his neck and then his chest, hoping this would somehow lessen the headache that will come for him the next morning.
Once he’s done tending to him, he stood up and was about to go out of the room with the intention of sleeping on the couch in the living room. But he hears a meek voice coming from Jeonghan. “Don’t go Cheollie. Stay with me.”
The night ended with Seungcheol spooning his bestfriend, “I’m here, Hannie. I’m always here.”
-
Seungcheol was happy to see Jeonghan somehow back to his old self a few weeks later. But a week before his birthday, the omega seems to be on edge all the time.
Usually, Jeonghan is excited about his birthday. He usually holds a huge birthday party every year which is partly a want and a necessity considering that he’s the governor’s son. He needs to invite all the important people. He needs to socialize and get acquainted because it would benefit him and his family. But despite his parents’ urging this year, it seems like there won’t be a party.
“You like parties.”
“I don’t feel like it this year.”
“What changed?”
“I don’t know… maybe i’ve had enough of them. Plus my jaw hurts at the end of the night and not for the reason I want it to.” Heh, leave it to Yoon Jeonghan to make a suggestive comment like that on a serious conversation.
Seungcheol knows that despite saying this, Jeonghan would want for his birthday to be celebrated. The omega has always been big on birthdays so it wouldn’t seem right to skip on the festivities this year. Regardless if it’s an intimate one.
Maybe it’s about time he steps up.
-
‘Jeonghan, I need your help. Can you come over?’ He sends the text to his bestfriend and then glances around his small apartment, hoping it at least looked presentable.
He thought of getting a hotel room but that would be questionable. So he opted for a nice candle lit dinner in his studio. He cooked some pasta that he knows Jeonghan liked, got some decent wine and he finally purchased a dining table, albeit a small one.
Jeonghan’s place is not too far from his, so as expected, the omega came knocking around 20 minutes after. Seungcheol purposely did not answer and open the door since Jeonghan knows the passcode anyway and he had to stay near the table for when Jeonghan comes in. “Seungcheol what’s wrong--” The bithday boy stopped dead on his tracks when he saw his bestfriend’s surprise. “Happy birthday, Hannie.” Seungcheol tried with his sweetest smile, although faltering because of course, how can this even measure up to the glamorous parties Jeonghan has had the years prior.
Jeonghan slowly walked, glancing around. He noticed the fairy lights by the curtains and some petals on the floor. Seungcheol also dressed up, hair slicked back which he has not seen since forever. Jeonghan started tearing up, covering his face with both his hands as he released the sobs. Seungcheol went to him immediately, worried that Jeonghan got too disappointed that he cried. “Hey… I’m sorry. I’m sorry this is all I could come up with.” He hugged the omega. Jeonghan cluthed at his collar, sobbing at his chest. “You idiot.” came a muffled voice. “You bought a dining table. A freaking dining table.”
“Yeah, well I figured it would be weird to have a candle lit dinner on the floor.”
“I’ve been telling you all these years to get one. But you only buy it because you wanted to eat my birthday dinner on it.” Jeonghan sobbed even more. “Idiot. Why are you making me cry on my birthday!” he gently hit his chest.
Seungcheol chuckled. “Jeonghan, are you seriously crying about the dining table? You do notice I cooked for you and got some wine too right?”
Jeonghan looks up at him and then hugs Seungcheol this time. “You’re unbelievable.” was all he could say. For Seungcheol to do all these. For him to take a portion of his savings just so he can host Jeonghan’s birthday dinner. It means a lot. Nevermind the huge parties, this is all that Jeonghan needs.
Seungcheol finally convinced him to settle on his seat. Jeonghan mused at how well Seungcheol cooked. He actually ate a lot, which hasn’t happened for a while now. Come to think of it, he really only eats well when he’s with Seungcheol.
After dinner, the two of them cleaned up and decided to finish the wine. They settled on the floor, leaning back to the wall with the wine bottle between them.
“He dumped me.” Jeonghan suddenly announced. Seungcheol took a sip of his wine. “He said I was too much for him. Said it’d be better if I find an alpha of my level.” The omega chuckled bitterly. “I’m tired of hearing it. Every single time that’s their excuse. It makes me feel like my biggest flaw is my stature.” Seungcheol just let his bestfriend continue talking. If Jeonghan took this long to finally tell him everything, then it only means it really did a number on him. “I wanted him to be the one. I’m so tired of dating and getting to know people only to forget them once we’re done. It’s exhausting. Maybe I’m really not meant to have someone beside me.”
“You don’t know that.” Seungcheol interjected.
“Well, that’s definitely how it feels right now.” Jeonghan smiled bitterly. “A few weeks later I found out he was only interested in me because he’ll get to brag to his friends that he had me. Like I’m some kind of trophy.”
Seungcheol’s blood boiled, his fists turning into a ball.
“It makes me wonder. What if all these years.. all those men I’ve been with. What if that’s the only thing they’re after? I’ve always felt good that a lot of people like me. That they find me desirable. That they want me. But I’m this old and yet I haven’t settled down with the person who can see past who I am in the society and just love me for me.”
Seungcheol wanted to tell Jeonghan to not stress about it so much. But he himself knows it’s impossible. In a way, they share the same worries. And it feels like telling Jeonghan that everything will be fine is somehow invalidating his pain. After all, who can even know? Who can guarantee that everything will be okay? In his experience, more than likely, things never really work out. So he’d be a hypocrite if he starts promising Jeonghan that now.
So instead, he reaches out to bring Jeonghan’s head and settles it on his shoulder. He really doesn’t know what to say, but maybe, in his own little way, he can comfort his bestfriend.
Jeonghan doesnt budge and for a time silence enveloped them. The wine is nearing empty and the night is getting deeper.
“You know what I looked forward to the most on my birthday?” Seungcheol hummed, willing him to continue. “It’s when after the party died down and I get to go to you and we end my birthday together. It’s the highlight of my special day.” Jeonghan sits up and looks at Seungcheol with the biggest smile. The one where it reaches his eyes and his nose forms a scrunch. “I was beginning to think you forgot about my birthday like you forget yours.”
Seungcheol presses his lips in a thin line. Jeonghan has always complained how he never went to his birthday party but he knows the omega understand it’s because he feels so out of place. “You know that’s impossible. Once the last week of september starts, ever year you would remind me everyday that your birthday is coming up. How does one forget that?”
“Well I didn’t remind you this year.”
“Idiot. Do you really think I would forget?” Seungcheol said with a smirk he tried to hide by drinking on his wine glass. Jeonghan’s smile got even wider if that’s even possible. “I know it’s not a lot, but I hope this made you happy.”
“Are you kidding me? I’m so happy I can kiss you.” Seungcheol isn’t sure if Jeonghan only said that as a joke… or if he meant it. But their gazes met and it locked as if talking. “Can I?” Jeonghan asks. Seungcheol just nods and the omega leans, slowly planting a kiss on his cheek. When he pulled away Seungcheol caught his eyes again. They both felt something in the air changed.
If it’s the wine, or the mood that came with the fairy lights, they both don’t know. What they do know is that something indeed changed.
“Can I?” Jeonghan asked again, now almost a whisper. Seungcheol knew what the omega meant and his breath hitched just by hearing it.
Jeonghan is waiting for Seungcheol to respond. But the reply didn’t come verbally, instead, the alpha’s eyes dropped to his lips and that’s when he knew he gave the consent. Jeonghan leaned closer, slowly feeling the alpha’s breath brush against his skin. Until their lips finally met, pressed against each other, still full of uncertainties. After a while, Jeonghan almost pulled away. Realization finally hitting him that this is his bestfriend, he cannot fuck up this relationship. But when he was about to, Seungcheol finally moved his lips, holding Jeonghan by the nape to bring him closer.
Seungcheol thinks his heart is about to explode from his chest.
He’s kissing Jeonghan.
Jeonghan is kissing him back.
This is really happening.
The tension was quick to rise and suddenly, innocent meeting of lips wasn’t enough. Seungcheol hurriedly swatted away the empty wine bottle between them as Jeonghan got on his knees and then straddled Seungcheol’s lap. The kisses were hot and needy and consuming and something they should have seen coming. It got even messier when Jeonghan decided he wanted to use his tongue. Stroking Seungcheol’s with his own, it became a battle the alpha was more than willing to lose at. Especially with the way Jeonghan is sucking at the firm muscle like he’s about to give him head.
Shit.
His brain immediately coordinated that thought to his groin and with Jeonghan grinding on him, he’d be a saint if his body doesn’t react.
“Cheol…” Jeonghan breathes, “I can feel you.” referring to his growing erection. Seungcheol doesn’t even know how to respond to that. He wanted to be embarrassed by it-- the thought that he got hard because of his bestfriend-- but really, how can one even think coherently like this? So he decides to shut his brain off and only focus on Jeonghan. Just Jeonghan.
Hands are everywhere (mostly Seungcheol’s) and Jeonghan gasps when Seungcheol massages that spot just below his ass. He’s surprised at how Seungcheol can fit his entire leg in one hand. Has the alpha always been this big?
Jeonghan snaps out of his thoughts when his bestfriend starts attacking his neck. Whimpering every time he suckles on a spot, knowing fully well that would leave a mark. But no, he wants to kiss Seungcheol more. So he holds the alpha’s face with his hands to bring their lips together. He kisses Seungcheol with the same intensity, wrapping his arms around the latter’s neck. “Cheol..”
“What?”
“Remember what we promised?” Jeonghan distanced his face so they could see each other eye to eye. Seungcheol nods, trying to catch his lips again. “Well you’re 30… and I am too, today.”
Seungcheol didn’t need any more reminding. They didn’t need to talk much. They both know what that promise was.
Seungcheol leaned to kiss him again and this time Jeonghan doesn’t pull away.
That was it.
That was the answer.
Seungcheol made him wrap his legs around his waist and then he stood up and carried Jeonghan to the bed. Settling the omega on the mattress, he got rid of his dress shirt and pants, leaving him in only a tanktop and his boxers. “Take mine off too.” Jeonghan tells him. Seungcheol does it with ease. And then they’re back to kissing. Only this time, muffled moans erupt because of the way their lengths rub against each other. Jeonghan slides his hand in between their bodies, cupping the alpha with his palm and moaning in appreciation as he starts stroking him through his underwear. “I had no idea you wanted me this much.” he smirks while teasing the alpha. Seungcheol’s reply was to feel his behind which was already leaking of slick. “Back at you.”
Jeonghan took off Seungcheol’s underwear but it got stuck below his ass. He grabs Seungcheol’s cheeks, moaning exaggeratedly he squeezes them. “That’s what I’m talking about.”
“Shut up.” his bestfriend growls right by his ear. Jeonghan erupts in naughty laughter only to be silenced by Seungcheol’s kisses. “Cheol please, don’t make me wait long.” he lifts his hips in an effort to meet the alpha’s. Seungcheol shushes him, saying he needs to prepare him. “No.. no need. I did that earlier.” for the first time that night, he got embarrassed. He felt his face heat up when Seungcheol looked at him like he’s starving. “You what?”
“Well.. I was feeling lonely. I thought you forgot my birthday..” Jeonghan tried to avoid his bestfriend’s piercing gaze.
Seungcheol didn’t reply anymore and proceeded to get rid of his underwear. “Are you sure?”
Jeonghan nodded. “Just… do it slowly.”
God, Seungcheol hoped he has enough self control to do so.
“Oh wait, condom.” Jeonghan whines when Seungcheol pulled away from him. He saw the alpha kicking off his underwear while heading to the bathroom and he lays there waiting. Seungcheol comes back with a pocket of condom on his mouth. Jeonghan reaches out for him immediately, pulling him in and locking their limbs together. “Hurry..” he whines.
Seungcheol fumbles with the foil packet, trying to open it with his mouth. “Cheol please..” Jeonghan continues to beg under him. Losing his patience, the omega snatches the condom away and throws it somewhere in the room. “Han what--” Jeonghan took hold of his length and positioned it on his own entrance, guiding it in. Seungcheol saw white with the tip now inside.
He pushes in slowly, stopping everytime he feels Jeonghan’s hold on his neck tightens. He distracts the omega by kissing him all over his face and everywhere he can reach. Jeonghan whimpers, whining about how he’s too stretched out. “Just a little more Hannie. Just a little more and I’m all in.” the alpha assures him.
Once he’s fully in and the omega has grown accustomed to his size, Seungcheol starts rocking slowly. Jeonghan clung to him tighter, crying out with every thrust. It’s near impossible to have self control with Jeonghan feeling this good around him, but despite the need to thrust into him mercilessly, Jeonghan’s comfort is top priority.
It was only when Jeonghan urged him to go faster and deeper that Seungcheol allowed himself to let loose some more. Jeonghan’s nails dug on his back, not wanting to let him go as they moan against each other’s lips. Seungcheol grunted loudly when he felt Jeonghan tighten around him, finding out it’s intentional when he saw the omega grinning. Seungcheol got back at him by pulling out only to smash back in. He did this several times, causing Jeonghan’s eyes to roll at the back. The omega pulls him close, foreheads pressed together. “Cheol, there.. please..”
Seungcheol did that move again. “Here?” Jeonghan nodded furiously, arching his back as the pleasure hit him like waves. Jeonghan is near, Seungcheol can tell. And with the omega clamping around him like that, he’s sure to reach his own climax soon as well. It didn’t take long, both of them coming at the same time and moaning incoherence at each other.
Jeonghan was trembling when Seungcheol collapsed on top of him, not minding the mess in between their bodies.
Fully spent and high, they fell asleep in each other’s arms.
-
A sharp pain in Jeonghan’s behind woke him up from his sleep. He was greeted by a naked Seungcheol sleeping on his stomach. He would have yelled if the memories left him but they didn’t.
Fortunately.
Because that’s a night he wouldn’t wish to forget.
He runs his fingers through the alpha’s charcoal black hair, smiling when it stirs him awake. “Morning, Cheollie.”
Seungcheol’s response was to grab him by the waist and pull him into a hug. “Need more sleep.” came the alpha’s sleepy voice. Jeonghan just laughs, tickled by Seungcheol’s breath on his nape. Last night was awesome. Best birthday ever.
“Cheollie.”
“Hmm?”
“You have’t changed your mind, have you?”
“About what?”
“Our promise.”
“What promise?”
That made Jeonghan frown and he was just about to turn around when Seungcheol kept him in place. Laughing softly, the alpha said, “I’m just teasing you.” then he feels a kiss on his shoulder. “I’ll never change my mind.”
Jeonghan lays there grinning like an idiot. With the morning sun seeping through the curtains and lighting up the small room, he sees the dining table that he stupidly cried about last night. The wine too that rolled near the window and two glasses near the wall. There’s also an unopened condom on the floor.
Jeonghan jolted up.
Unopened?
“Cheol.”
“What?”
“We were safe last night, right?”
“Of cou---” a pause. Then he felt Seungcheol sit up. “I mean, yes. I remember getting the condom from the bathroom and then I was trying to open it and then---”
“I took it and threw it away.” Jeonghan said upon realization hitting him. “We didn’t use one.” they stared at each other, fear registering in their eyes. “Shit.” they said in unison.

Despite trying to calm himself (and Seungcheol too) Jeonghan knows something is happening. Although he did check and he’s still days away from his heat when it happened, he knows there are circumstances wherein an omega gets pregnant especially if the alpha’s sperm is extremely potent.
He’s been experiencing some symptoms even though he’s still denying it. Seungcheol has been calling him non stop, asking how he’s feeling. Assuring him that they will figure it out together. But despite the alpha saying that, he knows Seungcheol is scared too.
They were just starting. Like literally they only started that night. They were only supposed to be dating now. But look at him staring at an envelope containing his test result.
He heard the passcode being entered and Seungcheol came into view. “I’m here.” the alpha announced. Jeonghan patted the space beside him which Seungcheol immediately took. He looked at the latter, asking with his eyes if he should open it now. Seungcheol placed a hand on his back in an effort to comfort him.
Jeonghan took a deep breath and then opened the envelope.
He couldn’t read everything else because that one word was highlighted in bold with an intimidating red font.
POSITIVE.
