You're Not That Bad (but it's a lie built with your manipulation)

Summary:

Everything has fallen appart around me, but when I'm with you most of that seems to fade away... You're... Amazing.

Maybe this guy isn't that bad?

Chapter Text

Natsuo let out a slow sigh of frustration, the air in front of his face looking like a cloud of smoke from the chilly atmosphere around him.

Today had been rough for the boy, to say the least. His sister, Fuyumi, had asked him to come to another family dinner, which is exactly what he did. Everything was fine until that flaming prick had to open his mouth. Endeavor had started another speech about Natsuo's deceased brother, Touya, that's when he left. He didn't want to hear his father’s “pity me” bull crap.

Even though it was cold, it was somewhat relaxing to Natsu-Kun, and the quiet stillness was a pleasant touch too. That didn't mean that the boy was calmed down, though. In fact, he was still pretty heated about what had happened. He hated Endeavor, every bit of him, and if it wasn't for him loving his sister too much, he would've left and never went back a long time ago.

Natsuo ended up walking for a while to clear his thoughts, one slow step after the next. That was until he felt something lightly hit his head, causing him to raise his head. ‘Shit…’ Why did it have to start raining now? Maybe he should just head back. He could lock himself in his room like always, so he didn't have to interact with anyone. What were they going to do? Stop him?

He only managed to take a few steps and pull the hood of his jacket up and over his head, before he heard someone nearby.

“Hey, you look a bit lost, don't you think?”

Natsu ended up stopping himself to look over, just to see a silhouette of a man, a few inches shorter than himself. He couldn't make out any distinct features, other than it was obvious the man had decent-sized wings, as well as these eerie yellow cat-like eyes that seemed to glow, even with how dark it was. He didn't even realize that he hadn't answered and had just been staring till the person spoke up again.

“What? Too good to say hi back?”

He didn't have a chance to respond as the man emerged from the shadows and into view. He was… gorgeous.

He had windblown, sandy blonde hair that was slowly getting somewhat matted down from the rain, his skin looked so smooth, dark eyeliner and eyeshadow around his eyes making him look more like some sort of bird of prey, his outfit, oh boy his outfit. He had a black turtleneck with the sleeves cut off, a nice little golden design right on the chest, a heavy black and red jacket that looked just barely too big for him, baggy cargo pants, and to top it off, black leather gloves and combat boots.

“You mute or something?”

Natsuo finally snapped out of it. He hadn't realized how long he had been staring at the man in front of him, but damn was he pretty.

“What do you want?”
“Jeez, no need to sound so harsh about it, but I guess it runs in the family.”

Natsuo ended up staring blankly at the bird-man for a couple of seconds to process what he said, but once he did, he quickly got a glare on his face. It was well known who the kids of the number one pro hero were, and Natsuo wasn't in the mood to get jumped again or to get harassed for it.

He turned and took a step to walk away, but was once again interrupted.

“Oh c’mon, I'm just teasing, no need to get salty about it.”
“What do you want?”
“You seemed upset. You looked like someone just kicked your puppy. Thought I'd come by and keep you company, or harass you a bit, in a friendly way of course. Your choice.”

By now, Natsuo would normally be ready to punch someone, but… how that man talked, in his carefree, joking tone, made him want to talk. Maybe this guy wasn't so bad?

I mean… Don’t get him wrong- he was still extremely cautious about this guy; he wasn’t going to just trust him right off the bat, but… There was just something about this person that made him so easy to just walk up to, even if he clearly wasn’t the nicest guy you’ve met.

The man raised and stretched out one of his wings, basically making it like an umbrella that could keep most of the rain off of both of them as he strode over to the Todoroki.

“Well? How about we get out of this damned rain? Wouldn't want you getting sick, now would we?”
