Summary:

“Kakyoin didn't want us to know?”

“No, he simply didn't want it to change your opinion of him,” Avdol corrected, shaking his head as a frown curled his lips, “He's a very strong willed omega, independent and solitary. Who the father is of that child Kakyoin carries... is none of our concern, nor how Kakyoin plans to carry it to full term or not.”

Chapter Text

Kujo Jotaro wasn't a typical sort of alpha. He was heavily well liked by many a girl and full grown woman for his looks and aloof attitude, always causing a scene when a gaggle of betas, alphas, and omegas would flock to his side and try to get his attention with batting eyelashes and the call of “JoJo.” A few would even go as far as to release their pheromones to attract his inner alpha, hoping their scent would be as appealing as his was to them. Despite their rather forward approach, however, Jotaro remained unmoved and unmated, not at all interested in a single one of those keening girls.

Alphas were suppose to find omegan pheromones to be the most appealing smell of all, yet Jotaro always found them to be the most unappealing. His mother's scent was the lone exception, as he had always found it more of a comfort then a tedious sweet perfume that many others gave off. He wasn't sure why, nor did he care to search out the answer. Jotaro simply did as he pleased, doing his best to ignore the fan base he somehow gathered, going to school and skipping when he felt like it, and dine-n-dash if the food he ordered sucked.

No one stopped him, as alphas tended to get more leeway then most, especially if one knew how to play into their dynamic role correctly. Betas bowed easily to a confident alpha, and omegas submitted quickly with the right glare. Alphas were harder to push around, even among fellow alphas, but the female alphas Jotaro faced would happily obey his biting bark to shut up as long as they got a tiny bit of his attention on them.

This all changed one fateful day when a youkai companion materialized and he was attacked by an omega with sharp features and his melon looking Stand.

Jotaro wasn't quite sure what it was about Kakyoin Noriaki that made his inner alpha feel drawn to the omega, but the pulsating adrenaline he had felt when facing off against him in battle and the more comforting ease and flow he felt when fighting along side him was certainly spiking his interest further.

Kakyoin certainly wasn't like other omega Jotaro had come in contact with. He wasn't as bubbly and friendly as his mother, nor was he as submissive and flirty as the girls who have tried to cozy up to him. Jotaro would have assumed Kakyoin was another alpha with his steadfast personality, but with those slender, telling hips and aromatic omegan scent, it was clear what his secondary gender was.

There was also something off about Kakyoin's scent, an undercurrent smell that peeked Jotaro's interest even more, but he couldn't put his finger on what exactly it was. He recalled smelling something similar, a scent not uncommon but unique enough to be a rarity for Jotaro to get a whiff of and it was driving him mad to know what exactly it was the longer he was allowed within Kakyoin's personal space.

It had been a few days into their journey in hunting down to defeat Dio, taking a rest as they took a train to their next destination. Polnareff and Jotaro were still feeling a bit sore from their respective bouts with one of Dio's minions, wounds slowly healing as the group meandered in their own bubble of interests. Polnareff was snoring in his trolley as Jiji made a few business related calls, Kakyoin reading while enjoying the last of the cherries he had been able to pawn off the rest of their group. Avdol had been meditating not too long ago, until Jotaro walked past with a subtle nudge to get the older alpha's attention and slight nod in the direction he was heading to separate themselves from their party. As perceptive as ever, Avdol understood Jotaro's request and followed the teen out of the compartment he was sharing with Jiji, not a word spared as they headed into a private area Jotaro felt safe to speak without being interrupted.

Turning to face Avdol dead on, the younger alpha gave a rumble of a growl, frustration clear as he finally asked, “What is going on with Kakyoin's scent?”

“Excuse me?” Avdol responded with a frown and arched brow, confused at the sudden topic presented to him.

“Kakyoin,” Jotaro gruffed, head tilted downward to hide the eye roll that followed suit with his childish frustration at not getting a straight answer right away, “His scent is different from other omega, and I can't place why. Its been bothering me for a while now...”

“Ah, I see,” Avdol nodded in understanding, the tension in his body relaxing as a small smile curled his lips. “Tell me, what exactly is it that you smell that is different from other omega?”

“It's...” Jotaro started before clamping his mouth shut with an audible snap, teeth grinding as he struggled with how to even explain it.

Noting his struggle, Avdol offered, “Is it pleasant? Or overbearing?”

“...Pleasant, I guess,” Jotaro mumbled in response, refusing to look up from the tiled flooring as he felt his ears begin to burn.

“Desirable or simply enjoyable?” the older alpha gently questioned, noting the change in Jotaro's scent as the topic got more and more personal but did his best to pretend he didn't notice at all.

“I... does it matter?” the teenager snipped, growl rising in his throat as a defensive response instead of answering truthfully.

“Only if you wish to follow up on your interest with Kakyoin as a possible mate, but otherwise no,” Avdol shrugged, crossing his arms over his chest as he silently watched the younger alpha struggle inwardly with himself. After giving the other a minute to himself, Avdol finally spoke up once again, “I wouldn't advice it at this time, however.”

“Why the hell not?” Jotaro found himself bark, instinctively disliking the thought of being unable to become closer to Kakyoin extremely displeasing. Before he could follow up with a further shout, Avdol simply rose his hand in silence.

“I understand you are both young and at that age of wanting to find a partner, but you must remember yourself,” Avdol began, lowering one finger as he continued, “We are currently on a life or death mission to defeat a dangerously powerful man and his many minions.” Another finger lowered, “And while Kakyoin is not marked, he is currently going through some... personal matters that may be unsavory for a third party to intrude.”

“Personal matters?” Jotaro repeated, brows furrowing in confusion at the obviously careful worded phrase. Too vague and obviously telling, the dark haired teen didn't appreciate being kept in the dark on the matters going on with those he deemed important to him.

“Considering how often you've been sniffing in Kakyoin's direction, I'm sure you noticed his scent is a bit... off, am I correct to assume?” the tone of voice ruffled Jotaro's nerves but the younger alpha did his best to bite down his annoyed growl and simply nod his head in agreement. Avdol released a small huff of amusement, but his features turned quickly serious as he announced, “Kujo Jotaro, before I say anymore you must agree that you will not let your inner alpha dictate any further actions towards Kakyoin. While we are in my homeland, you must abide by the laws of the land that permits all decisions are Kakyoin's to make and no alpha has any right to demand he think or do differently, especially when not his mate.”

The pointed glare Avdol directed at Jotaro as he said 'not his mate' irked Jotaro, but he kept his mouth shut and simply matched the man's intense stare with his own. With a jerky, curt nod as acknowledgment from Jotaro, Avdol finally continued;

“I understand this may be difficult for you, but it is very important you do not try to command Kakyoin or push him away from our group as it is seen as highly disrespectful for an alpha not affiliated with the omega to do. An omega's decisions are to be respected and followed, no matter how others feel on the matter,” Avdol further explained, “Only a beta or mated partner may nudge the omega in question to a different decision, but never demand or order.” Pausing a half a minute to make sure Jotaro understood, the older alpha finally announced, “The unique scent you have been picking up from Kakyoin is simply the sign of an omega expecting.”

“E-expecting?!” Jotaro yelped, through quickly covered it up with a faux cough of clearing his throat.

“Indeed, Kakyoin is with child,” Avdol confirmed, nodding at his own statement as he pretended for Jotaro that he didn't notice the childish sound he had released.

“But, an expecting omega shouldn't be expected to fight--” Jotaro started but was cut off instantly by Avdol's deep, rumbling growl of warning.

“Kakyoin made his decision to join us in defeating Dio, and I am respecting his wish,” Avdol spoke clearly, giving Jotaro no room to argue, “And you will do the same, Jotaro.”

“I—but—“ Jotaro began, cutting himself off with each start before releasing a frustrated sigh when Avdol refused to budge on the matter. Glancing away from the older alpha's hard stare, locking his own blue-green eyes upon the scenery speeding quickly through the window, Jotaro gruffed, “Why didn't anyone say anything before we left? Jiji wouldn't approve...”

“Probably,” Avdol simply shrugged, sizing up the young teen one last time before turning to look over his shoulder where their other comrades were resting, “But I do not know if Mr. Joestar picked up the scent himself. Despite being an alpha, his nose seems rather weak...”

“But you noticed?” Jotaro glanced up just under the brim of his cap, catching Avdol's warm brown eyes as they locked in a silent, understanding stare down.

“...I did,” Avdol finally confirmed after a solid minute of silence, shrugging his shoulders up and around as he relaxed the tension in his form, “While researching the fly, Kakyoin approached me. I noticed his scent then, and when I broached the subject with him... he asked I keep it between us alone.”

“...But you know who..?” Jotaro found himself asking in spite of himself. Honestly he didn't care who the father was either, as an unmarked omega usually meant the one who impregnated Kakyoin was either a one-time fling or a heat-induced encounter. Either situation left a sour taste in Jotaro's mouth, as his inner alpha wanted nothing more then to hunt down this mysterious person and beat them within an inch of their life for playing with his omega. But Kakyoin wasn't his to begin with.

“...I do,” the older man confirmed, breaking Jotaro out of his bloodlust.

“But you won't tell me,” Jotaro stated matter-of-factly.

“I will not,” Avdol nodded curtly, “That is up to Kakyoin to disclose.”

All Jotaro could do was respond with a grunt of acknowledgment, glancing away from the other alpha to watch the scenery speed by through the window provided. There were many things he wanted to know, but unwilling to verbally ask. Avdol was also tight-lipped, which Jotaro could respect, especially for Kakyoin's privacy. But, there was one query that Jotaro could not ignore, as it had been the main reason he had pulled Avdol away from the rest to question in the first place.

“...What did you mean earlier, about Kakyoin's scent being desirable or simply enjoyable?”

Avdol's bulky body stood at attention at the sudden change in topic, blinking amber brown eyes at the younger alpha in silence before remembering he had been asked a question. Clearing his throat, the older man began, “Well, you see... Alphas and omegas release a specific scent from their glands that can attract and repel possible mates. We each are attune to our own chemical balance that makes up our musk and pheromones, respectfully, and if you find another with a scent that you find attractively desirable, it simply means that person has a DNA match for good offspring.” Coughing into his fist, slightly uncomfortable about bringing up offspring after speaking of Kakyoin's, Avdol finished, “It's usually classified as a soul-mate pair, but it is actually basic biology.”

“Then—“ Jotaro started to speak, but was quickly cut off by Avdol.

“At the root, you and Kakyoin are a matchable pair, but as I said before,” Avdol raised his index finger to the ceiling, catching Jotaro's eyes with a warning glare of his own, “Now is not the time to be courting each other.”

“...But that doesn't mean I can't,” the younger alpha challenged, his inner instincts already itching in want to begin courting Kakyoin despite Avdol's obvious rebuttal. With child or not, Jotaro knows he already wants Kakyoin at his side, as his friend and lover. Never had an omega drawn him in so strongly, or smelled so lovely, and Jotaro did not want to lose the other simply for waiting too long because of that man, Dio, looming over their heads.

“...I cannot stop you,” Avdol reluctantly confirmed after a solid minute of silence, closing his eyes in meditation to calm his own inner alpha from raging back at the stubborn pup. Breathing in deeply, hold, and releasing it out as a gust of a sigh, the older man reluctantly finished, “But please be mindful of your intended. Anything can happen, and I would rather Kakyoin or you to not go through hardships for acting too abruptly.” Turning to return to their comrades, Avdol parted with one last bit of advice, “Remember well, Jotaro, that a matched pair does not necessarily mean a perfect outcome for either individual.”

With those last words, Avdol departed from Jotaro's side, leaving the younger man to process their conversation and contemplate his next actions regarding his interest in the redheaded omega. Avdol could only hope that whatever decisions the two teenagers make in regards to each other, that they may come out of this upcoming battle unscathed, for each other's sake.

If there was one thing Avdol was right about, Jotaro had to admit it was not a good time to be courting someone.

Not because Jotaro didn't want to, or that Kakyoin had outright refused his interest—the omega had no idea what Jotaro was plotting, as of yet—but due to their constant need to always be on the move, getting ever closer to Dio's location in Egypt. If they were back in Japan, Jotaro would have access to an abundance of available courting options, from gifts he could purchase and personally deliver with a simple, “I love you,” or date locations he knew from personal experience had delicious food that would hopefully impress Kakyoin to know he was an alpha of well-placed tastes.

As it was, Jotaro couldn't easily handpick a bouquet nor would Kakyoin have a place to keep them displayed as a remembrance of his soon-to-be-mate. Food expenses were limited to what the entire party needed, not wanted, even if Jiji allowed frivolous purchases for his grandson and friends as the doting grandpa he was. Regardless, not every marketplace had Kakyoin's favorite foods, or snacks, nor worthwhile sweets that screamed Jotaro's interest in wanting to court the other. What he did find an abundance of, however, were jewelry and gemstones.

Many merchants that lined the outdoor marketplace in some of the towns they passed through had many colorful rocks on display. Jotaro thought to pick one up, but he was no rockologist. He didn't know the meanings behind each gemstone or pebble, nor was he sure if Kakyoin would and mistake the meaning of the gift if Jotaro chose poorly. Then there was the jewelry itself, expensive and decorative in gold. So much gold, thick and gaudy, Jotaro couldn't see Kakyoin wearing something that bulky. Kakyoin deserved something more elegant and graceful, much like himself.

There was always the sleekness of a ring, shiny and silver or sharp and gold, maybe a diamond or two embedded with a personal engraving of their shared initials or devotion of love... But, that was better off for after Jotaro had confessed, as a proper engagement ring.

For now, while stuck in Egypt's harsh environment and foreign markets, Jotaro would focus on other ways to properly court the redheaded omega. The easiest method; providing food for his intended.

They were currently in Karachi, taking a short break after the fight with Steely Dan. Jiji had disappeared, stating he had some business to take care of, while Polnareff announced he was going to take a short nap while he could, leaving Jotaro and Kakyoin to their own devices. Taking that as his cue, Jotaro suggested the two go take a walk together with the single-minded goal of purchasing something that Kakyoin will enjoy to eat, as their shawarma meals were lost during the scuffle.

As Kakyoin draped his favorite scarf over his head to protect his fair skin from the desert sun, Jotaro instinctively reached forward, adjusting the silky material to extend just the slightest bit to help shield Kakyoin's magnetic amethyst eyes from the beaming rays. The omega gave pause at this, silently watching Jotaro mindlessly busy himself with the action before Kakyoin found himself giving the alpha a gentle grin and softly spoken, “Thank you.” Jotaro simply ducked his head as best he could with his towering height, black cap's brim blocking his features only slightly to hide the blush he was sure that radiated just under his eyes at the praise, inner alpha beaming with pride.

The two teenagers made their way out of the hotel Jiji had booked temporarily as a respite, Jotaro being mindful of his place at Kakyoin's side. As they were not officially together, Jotaro knew he was not allowed to crowd Kakyoin's personal space as much as he desired to, to be able to step closer to the redhead's side as a protective shadow to glare at any other alpha who thought they could stop and stare at his pretty mate. Instead, he had to keep a respectable distance, to not herd Kakyoin bodily where he wanted the omega to lead them, but to keep in pace side-by-side and simply go at each other's own pace. It was easier to perform when Polnareff and Jiji were around, or when Avdol was watching with a critical stare when he had been traveling with them. But when it was just the two of them, alone and private...

Spotting a stall with freshly cooking meat, Jotaro made his way towards what he hoped would be a good food choice for Kakyoin. The omega quickly followed after the black haired alpha when he noticed the other's change in direction, spotting the kebabs quickly as the delicious aroma of cooked spices entered his senses.

“Hungry?” Kakyoin asked with a friendly smile up at his taller friend, eyes squinting in amusement that Jotaro could only translate as fond.

“We missed out on our lunch Jiji tried to get us,” Jotaro explained as he raised a hand to the cook, requesting two of the kebabs without a word towards the man behind the stall. “I would assume you must be famished as well.”

“You got me there,” Kakyoin hummed, pausing their conversation to ask what sort of meat it was. As the man answered, “Lamb kofta kebabs”, the redhead raised his own hand to request three instead of the original two. “I hope you don't mind me getting a second for myself, I am feeling rather peckish moreso then usual.”

'Due to the baby,' Jotaro wordlessly filled in the unspoken meaning. Nodding his approval, Jotaro also lifted one more finger to request four of the kebabs, sharing a grin between themselves as the owner of the kofta kebabs began preparing them a provided plate to hold two of the meat slabs each. Once it was paid for, the two continued on their aimless trek around the city, nibbling on their own minced lamb as they carried a peaceful conversation regarding school assignments they took with them before heading out on this trip, trickled with little tidbit facts Kakyoin decided to share about the culture of Karachi, and following up with possible ideas on what to do with themselves once they defeated Dio and returned to Japan. Somewhere in between, Kakyoin observed the kebabs reminded him of yakitori served at festivals, bemoaning how much he could go for one of the chicken skewers right then.

“Once we get back,” Jotaro reassured, watching the omega with fondness hidden by his cap's brim, sparkling in his sea-green eyes, “We can get as many yakitori as we can handle. I'm buying.”

“Be careful, I might take you up on that offer,” Kakyoin teased, giving Jotaro's side a sharp nudge that was a bit too hard but struck something in his inner alpha that chimed with happiness at the contact alone.

“I hope you do, its why I offered,” Jotaro huffed back, trying to hide a smile that curled his lips. It was harder to do so when Kakyoin turned his full attention onto the taller teen, expression filled with amazed bafflement before breaking out into an even wider smile of his own.

“Its your wallet's funeral.”

Never had Jotaro ever thought he'd feel such a spike of happiness at being pushed or ordered around by an omega, yet he found himself slipping easily into Kakyoin's pace. Kakyoin was very smart, a tactical sort of guy, who planned out his actions a couple steps ahead. Jotaro knew he could trust his very life to the redheaded omega, and he wanted to prove to Kakyoin that the other could feel the same towards Jotaro. He wanted to make it obvious that he would be a good, supportive alpha that Kakyoin would be proud to call his mate.

The little moments where Jotaro made sure Kakyoin was fed, that his growing child was well taken care of by extension, were simply a stepping stone. He needed to provide further proof, that Jotaro would be a good father for Kakyoin's child, or children if Jotaro was allowed to sire one of his own with the redhead.

So when a babe was offered by a little woman, begging the crew to take the tiny boy to a doctor that was residing on the other side of the desert they needed to cross by plane to reach promptly, Jotaro couldn't help but feel it was a gifted opportunity.

Jiji seemed to be a natural as he held the tiny child, cradling it close to his chest as he fed it the food Kakyoin prepared. Kakyoin had seemed perturbed by the child at first, keeping himself at a distance with a suspicious eye locked onto its every move. Jotaro wasn't sure if it was his soon-to-be-a-mother jitters or a reactionary instinct regarding an unknown omega child being a threat to his own placement in their makeshift pack, but by morning the redhead seemed to accept the temporary inclusion of the little one, and now Jotaro was worried he had missed his chance.

They were currently waiting for the SWF to arrive with provided transport, Jiji coddling the wailing babe as Polnareff attempted to win a smile by making silly faces. Kakyoin sat back with Jotaro, quietly watching the older men struggling with such a tiny child with a mildly amused twinkle in his amethyst eyes. Taking a sip of his coffee, Jotaro did his best to pull his sea-green eyes away from the pretty sight of his friend in such a relaxed state and observe the crying child with an expression of mild irritation.

“Something on your mind?”

The question came out of nowhere, or at least that's what Jotaro would claim as his body gave an involuntary twitch of surprise at being caught off guard. Glancing at Kakyoin from the corner of his eye without moving his body from facing the trio across from them, the raven haired alpha released a grunt and shrugged.

“Care to share it or are you just not feeling fully awake yet?” Kakyoin hummed with an amused little grin, one that caused heat to begin climbing up the back of Jotaro's neck like a lover's caress.

Grumbling around the rim of his mug as he took another sip, Jotaro gave himself a moment to recollect himself before carefully setting his now mostly empty cup down to rest in between him and the redheaded omega. Jotaro released a deep, drawn out sigh, “I am surprised how well Polnareff is at handling that child. Jiji I get, but...”

Kakyoin gave a little hum in thought, eyes trailing away from Jotaro's face to land on the odd couple playing parent. After a beat of silently observing the two, the redhead shrugged with a questioning, “Why are you so fixated on that, though? He was a big brother, I'd hope he has some parental skills...”

Jotaro let an embarrassed little grumble slip past his lips as he dipped his chin into his wide chest, trying and failing to hide his reddening face. If he said anymore, Jotaro was sure Kakyoin would put two-and-two together, but if he didn't explain himself... “...I feel like I barely contributed in taking care of the kid, is all,” Jotaro mumbled, lips tightly pressed in a subconscious pout.

“You want to play house with them?” Kakyoin titled his head in Polnareff and Jiji's direction while keeping his face tuned to Jotaro, that twinkle of amusement returning to those shockingly beautiful purple eyes that always seemed to catch Jotaro off guard, his throat quick to feel dry with thirst for the other teen. Coughing to clear his suddenly parched throat, the raven haired alpha shook his head in response. “Then... Oh,” Kakyoin gave a sudden start, body sharply switching from his more laxed lean into a proper posture, back ramrod straight as he gave the other teenager a contemplative stare, “You wanted to try your hands at being in a parenting role yourself... Already thinking about fatherhood, Jotaro?”

“It's, no, well—“ Jotaro stumbled over his words, his own eyes locking onto Kakyoin's face with a pinched expression. “It's not that I am planning on having kids of my own, but... If, say, someone I like already has kids, I'd want to know I'm competent in taking care of them, too. Is that wrong?”

“Jotaro, are you...” Kakyoin started, but cut himself off just as abruptly. The tense expression the omega was giving him would make any alpha sweat with concern, but Jotaro somehow kept his cool composure even as his nerves rattled. It felt like an hour had gone by before the redhead blinked, intense stare finally mellowing down to a curious contemplative look, lips pursing in his own pout before releasing a heavy sigh. Turning away, Kakyoin once again watched Polnareff and Jiji with the child in their care, expression hard to read as Jotaro openly watched the other with blatant curiosity.

The pair allowed the silence between them to drag on, the uncomfortable tension from just moments ago beginning to melt into something more comfortable and familiar, a quiet so natural between the two that it made Jotaro fall in love all over again. He could imagine them both, at an older stage in their lives, sitting side-by-side just like this, pressed close with Kakyoin's head resting upon his shoulder, simply trading warmth and their natural alpha and omega scents to mingle as one... He allowed the fantasy to extend to including the child incubating inside Kakyoin to stand at their side, a solid individual whose hair burned as red as their mother, though whether they were a young man or woman was harder for Jotaro to place, forcing him to picture not one but two children under their care. Jotaro's mind then pictured the son he imagined to share his darker head of locks, hair wavier like Kakyoin's, and eyes a pretty shade of purple-blue, while their daughter, hair still as red as before, shared Jotaro's sea-green eyes with such an intense stare of self-assurance that she would no doubt inherent from having two strong-willed parents.

Jotaro truly never gave much thought to the idea of siring kids of his own, but as he allowed himself to daydream of the small family he and Kakyoin could share, starting with the single babe created with another partner, his mind unwillingly supplied a larger family unit with kids sharing every single aspect of himself and Kakyoin, from young boys and girls with obsidian and ruby locks of hair, to skin more bronze or silky pale, small to wide mouths, blunt to sharp chins, bigger builds closer to the Joestar lineage to smaller and slender builds like Kakyoin's... the list went on and on, and despite the growing family in his mind-space, Jotaro didn't feel intimidated by the aspect of what sort of future they may wind up in, be it with just the single child Kakyoin was soon to birth within a few months time or multiple more with Jotaro as the father. If anything, he felt a thrill of excitement at what was to come.

The sudden rumble of a helicopter in the distance broke the silent atmosphere, causing the pair to turn in the direction of their soon-to-arrive transportation heading their way. Polnareff gave a loud whooping noise, jumping up from where he had been squatting earlier with Jiji and the baby, beginning to busy himself with packing up their items. Jotaro picked up his mug to down the remaining contents inside, ready to lend a hand in packing up their loose belongings but gave a pause as Kakyoin rested a gentle hand against his bicep.

“I think you did a well enough job as is,” the redheaded omega informed softly, eyes still trained ahead instead of at the one he was addressing, cheeks beginning to burn a lovely reddish pink much to Jotaro's enjoyment. “You kept an eye out, even when at a distance. That's a good instinct to have, I think.”

“...Thanks,” Jotaro mumbled just as quietly, feeling a blush of his own climbing up from his neck to his ears, dipping his head low to cover his face from any further heat that may also cover his own cheeks. Despite his best efforts, his alpha musk slipped through as well, the excitement of being praised too much to hold back as it began to perfume the small space between them. If Kakyoin was bothered by it, he gave no reaction regarding the sudden scent wafting in the dry desert air.

The battle with Dio was quick and sudden, within a blink and you would miss half of it. Avdol and Iggy were gone, the alpha he had silently looked up to disappearing with only his two limbs left as proof that he had ever existed, and the Stand user of a dog, once an annoyance turned respectable comrade, was snuffed out before anyone could properly mourn the pup. Jiji and Kakyoin, who had teamed up while Jotaro followed after Polnareff after the argument regarding how they should tackle approaching Dio, were both taken out of commission by the blond vampire with uncanny ease, though while he struck with the intent to kill the older Joestar, he had shown an odd leniency regarding Kakyoin.

Jotaro was sure that, had Kakyoin not been carrying, the redheaded omega would have died that night, as the devilish alpha had no qualms with killing women or children. He had gotten so close, discovered Dio's Stand ability with Heirophant Green's tentacle-made-web, but instead of throwing a deadly punch that would have snuffed Kakyoin's life out without even a blink, Dio grew cocky and prideful, booming laughter cutting through the streets of Cairo. The ancient being gloated at Jiji as he held a struggling Kakyoin captured with his golden yellow Stand, too powerful to be taken out with Heirophant Green's strength alone and with his time-based ability, always a step behind in any attempts to slip by secretly into either Stand or Stand user to control them from the inside. Despite the dangerous situation he found himself in, Kakyoin used the golden opportunity he was given to shout over Dio's spiel, revealing the World's ability to stop time.

Jotaro entered the battlefield as Jiji tried to create distance between the older alpha and himself, shouting at Jotaro to get away as Dio's time-based ability was too much for any of them to face, and within a blink he found his old man with a knife lodged in his body and Kakyoin held limp in Dio's grasp, blood dripping from a head wound but still shockingly alive.

The twisted smile Dio aimed at the younger alpha unnerved and frustrated Jotaro, and as he released a quiet growl that promised violence once he got his hands on that body-stealing vampire, the blond alpha tossed Kakyoin's body to the dirty and bloody ground with such ease and little care to the omega or unborn babe inside him, Jotaro saw red.

The fight with Dio felt like it lasted centuries while only a few minutes had past, but in the end of all their scuffling and thrown blades and thrusted punches delivered by equally powerful Stands, Jotaro found himself the victory, body bloody and fatigued yet still wired on adrenaline to carry his feet to the crumpled forms of Jiji and Kakyoin, left untouched by the mutilated diners who had been so easily disposed of before Dio had reached his actual target. The Speedwagon Foundation arrived shortly after Jotaro knelt down to Kakyoin's side, fingers tentatively pressed against the omega's neck in hopes to feel a pulse, that he hadn't bled out while he was taking care of that monster. Jotaro released a relieved breath, hand shaking with unkempt nerves going haywire as he silently watched members of SWF begin recovering Jiji's lifeless body and providing medical treatment to the still conscious Polnareff, who's loud whines of pain just began to register to his ears.

Polnareff was alive, and Kakyoin was alive, and Dio's child...

Swallowing down the bile that wanted to erupt at the thought of that vile creature touching his Kakyoin in any way, forcing himself onto a brainwashed omega during his heat, without his approval or consent... If Jotaro hadn't already finished the bastard off, he would gladly kill Dio again just for what he had done to the one he holds so dear. Dio was a piece of shit who didn't deserve to have a single remnant of himself to continue to exist, and it pissed Jotaro off that the unborn child within Kakyoin was cursed to even share his bloodline, and yet...!

Jotaro watched with a heated glare as a SWF agent moved to place Kakyoin's limp form onto a stretcher, eyes not once lifting in intensity as his silent warning to not cause a single strand of hair to be mistreated, the man gave a nervous gulp and reassured his friend was in good hands as another agent joined to help ease the passed out omega into the same vehicle that Polnareff was herded into. Knowing Kakyoin wouldn't be alone with the Frenchman at his side, Jotaro decided to pack himself in the second vehicle provided, with Jiji and his great-great grandfather's lifeless body on display, ready to be disposed of.

It was going to be a long night...

Somehow, against all odds, Jiji was alive.

Jotaro sat, listless, in an uncomfortable hospital provided chair, in a SWF provided staffed clinic stationed in Cairo. It had been a couple days since, everyone who survived taking the time needed to heal and take in what had happened and who they had lost. Polnareff was silent for once, resting in a neighboring room as his pale blue eyes looked out the window without seeing the beautiful blue sky, mind trapped back in Dio's mansion where he had lost two beloved comrades. Jiji was off somewhere else, keeping himself busy with phone calls to Okaasan and Suzi-baachan and demanding the staff to do everything that they possibly can to treat their injured party as if they weren't already working themselves to the bone as is. Jotaro was sure it was just to distract himself, unable to stay still for long before he worked himself back up into a tizzy to fix the damages left behind.

Jotaro certainly wished he could do more.

Instead, he was stuck in this small clinic, sat stiff and uncomfortable but refusing to budge an inch from the side of the comatose form of Kakyoin Noriaki laid out on a certainly as unpleasant to lay upon bed.

They were lucky the wounds weren't severe, a doctor had reassured, expression neutral but pinched with poorly hidden empathy, but whether Kakyoin would wake within a few days to months or years, was still uncertain. Jotaro had wanted to punch the doctor right then and demand him do something more, but held himself back. He knew they were doing what they could, and should just be grateful Kakyoin wasn't a lifeless corpse like Iggy or a pair of arms like Avdol, currently being buried with honor for their great sacrifices in taking down Dio and his henchmen. But Jotaro was never one to settle for what was given when he knew he could possibly take the matter into his own hands, just like when he used Star Platinum to revive his Jiji from Death's clutches...

Unfortunately, Star Platinum's lightning fast punches or careful precision wasn't going to help awaken Kakyoin from the deep slumber he was currently trapped within. All he could do was remain by the redhead's bedside, cradling the limp but warm hand within his own and pray and patiently wait for the day when those sparkling amethyst eyes would open up and lock onto his with recognition...

And when that day comes, Jotaro was determined to tell Kakyoin his true feelings for the other teen once and for all. Whether they were still in Cairo, or back in Japan, with the child still in the womb or cradled in his own arms, Kujo Jotaro was going to be the first thing his omega sees if he can damn well make it happen, and with confidence and certainty, he will ask Kakyoin's hand in marriage.

Squeezing Kakyoin's hand in his, Jotaro silently promised with his very being that he will make the redheaded omega the happiest bride in the entire world. And if the other refused... Kakyoin will never want for anything, as Jotaro would be sure to help provide for the single omega and child. And if Kakyoin found someone else, to love and support him... Well.

He wouldn't be able to get rid of Jotaro that easily.

To Be Continued...
