Chapter Text

Megumi Fushiguro was truly, thoroughly, fucked.

He knew he wouldn’t have been able to handle Special-Grade alone, let along the King of Curses. So Itadori’s plan of him getting Kugisaki and hightailing it out of there made sense. But, see, a major part of the plan revolved around the assumption that Itadori could simply swap out with Sukuna whenever he wanted to.

The other boy had seemed to be able to do it so easily the first time Megumi had just assumed it’d go as well the second. That was...not the case.

Shit.

Nothing got the heart pumping quite as fast realizing you were left alone with the King of Curses. Said King of Curses had appeared out of nowhere behind him, rounding around his side in a casual stroll.

“This is what he gets for trying to use me without any kind of pact.” Sukuna (very much not Yuji), declared leisurely as he sauntered ahead. He stopped a few feet ahead of Megumi, turning to look back at him.

“Feels like he’s having some trouble switching back.”

Megumi went wide eyed with concern, before schooling his expression. Too late. Sukuna had read his face like a book— a picture book, considering how easy it was to read it.

Honestly, he almost felt bad for the boy. Sukuna didn’t actually care, obviously, but he could see why it would be rather daunting to face an opponent so much more powerful than him.

Lucky for the young sorcerer, he was feeling rather merciful right now. Who knows, maybe he’d even escape with only one broken bone.

“Still though,” Sukuna mused, grasping the front of his vessel’s uniform, “It’s only a matter of time.”

He just didn’t know how much. His vessel was struggling for control, but at the moment his struggles felt like a mere tingling at the nape of his neck. A momentary mental barrier had pushed the brat so far back into his own consciousness he didn’t even know what was going on outside their shared body.

Nevertheless, he truly was running on limited time. Better make the most of it.

As easily and casually as ripping a piece of paper, Sukuna tore the hoodie of Yuji’s uniform to shreds, revealing bare, tattooed skin.  It’s not as if he actually needed whatever measly protection the cloth provided, anyhow. It wasn’t much more than an annoyance.

Reveling in the cool air, he pivoted to face his opponent. Not that he’d be much of a fight, but he’d give him a chance, he supposed.

“So…” Sukuna drawled, fully prepared to continue his monologue and his little plan. At least, until his attention landed on Megumi once more.

Scarlet eyes widened ever so slightly, practically unnoticeable as he felt a sharp change in the other’s aura. It was odd, considering he hadn’t even done anything threatening yet. He wasn’t exactly a mind-reader per se, but he could easily sense the emotions of such a rookie sorcerer.

Curiosity got the best of him as he cocked his head, trying to pick apart the sudden change in demeanor.

Hmm. Odd.

The boy, Megumi, glared back at him, shifting his stance. If he was confused by Sukuna’s sudden pause in monologuing, he didn’t show it. Outwardly revealing nothing, he stonily met the King of Curses’ gaze.

Yet when Sukuna didn’t do anything for a few more seconds, still observing in slight amusement, his gaze...dipped. Just for a moment.

It quickly snapped back up to meet his own. Nothing all that noticeable, just a little behavioral tick. Except for the fact that when Megumi had glanced down, his cheeks had reddened just barely, almost unnoticeable, really.

At least, unnoticeable to the average mortal. Sukuna was neither of those things.

Oh. Oh?

Sukuna’s previous slight amusement grew in time with a sudden spark of intrigue, and he studied the sorcerer before him in a new light.

Obviously, the appearance of Yuji Itadori’s body wasn’t something he particularly cared about. He had to give his vessel this much though, he had a nice body, similar in build to Sukuna’s original one. Simply put, it was attractive.

Clearly, he wasn’t the only one that thought so.

Interesting.

That spike of emotion Megumi had valiantly attempted to keep in check was arousal. Knowing this, he could sense it, barely there under Megumi’s concentration and determination now that the young man had focused on his opponent as, well, an opponent, once more.

Wel, well, wasn’t this exciting? Sukuna hadn’t come out here with anything of this sort in mind, but now that the opportunity stood before him, he couldn’t help but want to tease.

This could be entertaining, after all.

“My, my, what’s this?” Sukuna murmured, eyes narrowed as he lifted a hand to his mouth mockingly, “Weren’t you taught not to stare?”

The sorcerer faltered, shifting backwards slightly in puzzlement. His full name was Megumi Fushiguro, a little tidbit of information Sukuna snagged from Itadori’s consciousness. And if looking back on the interactions Itadori had with the other boy told him anything, Sukuna was willing to bet that Megumi had a developing attraction to his vessel. How sweet. Of course, the Yuji brat was too dense to have noticed.

“I know this body’s just so appealing, but you really should have more tact, hmm?”

One second, two, three, before the dots connected in Megumi’s head and his eyes widened comically. It was clear from the look on his face that he’d realized that Sukuna had noticed his little peeking. He opened and closed his mouth like a distressed fish, thrown off by being not only caught but called out, shocked silent.

Sukuna was right — this was amusing.

An embarrassed pink began to spread across Megumi’s face, but before it became a full blown blush he shook it off. With an almost impressive poise, he grit his teeth and steeled himself.

“Well?” Sukuna prompted tauntingly, a single eyebrow raised, “Not going to say anything?”

In response, Megami wordlessly clasped his (trembling) hands together, summoning a winged Shikigami. Despite being clearly outmatched, there was a determined fire in his eyes as he charged forward.

Not much of a talker, he noted idly.

Sukuna couldn’t help but smile at the display anyway, running both hands through his hair. He had come out here to toy with the young sorcerer, maybe even fight him if he was strong enough, but now his interest now lay elsewhere.

Perhaps Megumi could offer a different kind of entertainment.

Hands in his pocket, he avoided the first few strikes with a casual grace, “Interesting. You use Shikigami, but you’ll still come at me yourself?”

Keenly aware of the Shikigami swooping down at him from behind, he ducked. Little to no concentration was needed to continue their little dance, allowing him to ponder on his own.

Perhaps in time Megumi could improve, if he learned how to put more curse behind his swings. Not that he cared about that, right now. If anything, he was beginning to find the young man almost...endearing. No, perhaps cute was the right word. He was just trying so hard, and he’d been adorable when he was getting all flustered earlier.

He wouldn’t deny that his interest had been piqued by Megumi’s obvious attraction to his body. And it had been a while since he was able to have any fun of that kind.

With that in mind, Sukuna grasped Megumi’s incoming fist, using it as leverage to swing the other around before yanking him in. He grinned roguishly as he leaned in.

“I wonder, how long have you been thinking about my vessel like this? About this…” He paused mockingly, observing the way Megumi’s expression changed minutely, “...body of mine?”

Before Megumi could even react, he dropped the other’s fist and grasped his chin instead, pulling their faces even closer. He jolted, unable to pull away from the King of Curses’ strength.

“Does it keep you up at night?” Sukuna cooed, heated gaze drilling into Megumi’s wide eyes. Despite himself, the young man seemed incapable of looking away. He lowered his voice to a near whisper, voice soft and husky, “Hmm? Does it? ”

Megumi’s jaw clenched in his grasp, face redder than it had been before. He allowed the other to push himself away with a saccharine chuckle.

“I— What— Shut up!” Megumi snarled, face burning as his relatively cool, calm demeanor steadily slipped away. He staggered even further back, “What’s the point of this? What do you want?!”

A lascivious grin spread across Sukuna’s face. What did he want, indeed. He eyed the dark haired sorcerer, taking in the blush on his face and how he looked oh so adorable like that. Poor thing, all hot and bothered despite the way he tried to keep his composure.

It really had been quite some time since Sukuna had been able to enjoy the sins of the flesh, he mused. And here he had the perfect little toy, right in front of him.

Arousal pooled deep in Sukuna’s stomach.

He made his decision in a split second. All his other plans could wait.

Today was just full of pleasant surprises, wasn’t it?

“You’ve had your fun.” Sukuna took a single step forward, sultry gaze honed in on Megumi, who seemed utterly lost as to what was happening, “Now it’s time for me to have mine.”

With an exhilarated glint in his eyes, Sukuna launched off his back foot and lunged towards Megumi faster than the other could react.

Megumi couldn’t stop his surprised grunt as Sukuna leaped and slammed against him, strong thighs squeezing his sides. They held him in place as the momentum forced him to sprawl back on the ground. Sukuna, meanwhile, landed in the same way he’d tackled Megumi to the ground, now sitting on his stomach with a knee grounded on either side of the sorcerer’s torso.

Though he just barely managed to avoid smacking the back of his head against the ground, the impact was still jarring. Of course, he didn’t bother waiting for his body to adjust, hoping to use the close proximity to his advantage.

“That’s it!” Sukuna cackled, “Come on, try harder! Where’d all that fight go?”

He glared up at the curse — damn you, you cocky bastard — and lashed out with his fists. Kicking seemed to get him nowhere; it only slightly jostled Sukuna side to side. But to his dismay, his punches were knocked aside as effortlessly as before. Despite how close Sukuna was, he still wasn’t able to land a solid hit. Lovely.

“Keep trying, maybe you’ll get it this time.” Sukuna tilted his head out of the way of another hit, looking for all the world like a cat toying with a trapped mouse.

Alright, screw this. Even if he could dodge his punches, there was no way Sukuna would be able to dodge Shikigami this close. With that in mind, Megumi’s hands slammed together to summon one.

But for he could properly form the shape, both wrists were caught in a nearly bruising grip.

“Ah ah ah, none of that.” He gave Sukuna a look of utter confusion, wondering what the hell the curse was up to. The curse leaned in with an impish grin, “Show me what you can do.”

Oh for fuck’s—

Giving up on actually landing a hit, Megumi focused his efforts on getting the other the hell off of him. He bucked his hips, a sense of hope sparking for a moment when the motion jostled pushed Sukuna upwards. It was crushed almost instantly when Sukuna simply applied pressure back, pinning him back down with his hips.

Snarling, he tried again, this time kicking wildly as he shoved fervently at the other’s body with frantic hands. Sukuna allowed the contact with an idle smile, not budging an inch. Dear god, this was pathetic. Humiliation burned deep in Megumi’s throat.

Just as he was beginning to run out of ideas (Maybe he could try to flip their positions? Pushing Sukuna off wasn’t working but perhaps rolling him to the side would), Sukuna seemed to grow bored of his futile struggling.

“You really should have put more curse into it.” Sukuna sighed in mock disappointment, looking annoyingly unperturbed, “It might’ve even stung a little bit.”

He wasn’t sure which he hated more: how utterly cocky the King of Curses was or the fact that he was powerful enough to warrant such cockiness.

Both his wrists were grabbed once more, but this time Sukuna used them as leverage to slam both of Megumi’s hands on the ground beside him. He didn’t even have time to flinch at the impact, because suddenly Sukuna was leaning down to look him dead in the eye.

Though he put on a brave face, he couldn’t help but tense up as the other drew close. Megumi did not trust the sly look on Sukuna’s face, not in the slightest.

“There, you had your chance. Now, are you going to behave?”

Behave? What did he mean by behave?

“Be good and I won’t hurt you.” Sukuna squeezed his wrists playfully, “Sounds fair?”

Trepidation burned hot through his veins as he stared up at Sukuna, mind racing as he tried to figure out what to do. He knew that despite the other’s penchant for violence, Sukuna wasn’t necessarily a trickster.

Above all, there was a chance that he could buy time for Yuji to regain control of his body and get out of this entire mess unscathed.

“...Fine.” He muttered lowly, leveling his best stony glare at the curse seated on top of him. Sukuna’s grin widened, dangerously smug.

....Ok, maybe he made the wrong decision.

No! No, he could, would do this, whatever this was. He wouldn’t fail Yuji— kind, goofy, bright-as-the sun (wonderful, amazing, beautiful) Yuji.

Mind made up, Megumi set his jaw resolutely and pointedly let the tension drain out of his body. It was a sign of surrender, and they both knew it. Somehow, Sukuna managed to look even more pleased.

His wrists were slowly released and Sukuna leaned back to sit upright once again low on his torso. Alright, this was it. All he had to do was play along, and bide time for Yuji to regain control.

Simple enough. Hopefully. If only he knew what Sukuna was planning.

The thighs bracketing his sides squeezed him meaningfully, making Megumi drop his gaze from the other’s face to where their bodies were connected.

Just in time, too, to see Sukuna grasp the cloth of Yuji’s pants and tear.
