Aizawa was making his rounds for bed checks. his students could be awake but not out of the dorm rooms he knew how bad nightmares could be. Heading to the roof he noticed a door being slightly opened and a note on the desk, he heads inside and checks the note not even reading it only seeing the words ",I am sorry", "Roof" and "Goodbye"and running to the roof.
Sitting on the edge of the roof there is Izuku Midoriya, Shoes off and in Pajamas, "Problem child, please get off the edge" Aizawa says distress clear in his voice
Midoriya didn't even seem to take notice of Aizawa's arrival, moves to take a step off when Aizawa as fast as he could used his capture weapon to bring him over to Aizawa who wraps his arms around Midoriya.
Midoriya is stunned still but slowly starts crying heavily into Aizawa's chest "I- I couldn't even do this right" he struggles to get out.
"Midoriya… breathe it's okay I have got you," he whispers unable to say anything else in shock that his problem child died, and not due to Izuku being reckless or a villain attacked, but because he didn't do his job and notice his student suffering.
Midoriya just cries, murmering words of self hatred, words Aizawa hated for letting Izuku think about him for so long.
"Kid, you are none of those things I promise, your safe and you are amazing and doing so well and I am so proud of you" Shouta says softly trying to get his student to look at him, "However for your own safety, Your gonna be doing mandatory therapy… and going on suicide watch for a while"
Izuku just slumps against Aizawa still crying but nods he knew if he got caught this would happen.
"... Can you tell me what led to you thinking these falsehoods about yourself?... There doesn't even have to be a reason because sometimes it just happens… but I don't feel like that's the case" Aizawa says gentlely still holding his student.
Izuku confesses. All the years of bullying and abuse flow from his mouth, The pressure of One for all and being Allmight's successor and all the damn it's caused, how teachers turned blind eye to the bullying because of his previous quirklessness how the fact he has lost count of the amount of times he's been told to die, all leave his mouth.
Aizawa is also crying by the end and holding onto Izuku tightly "y-you will get your justice" he promises
The crying teen just nods "Just don't blame Kacchan, they encouraged it and never told him it was wrong" he begs
Aizawa sighs "I can't promise he won't get punished, infact he will most definitely but I will try to make sure he isn't expelled"
Izuku sniffles and nods but ultimately stays quiet.
"Come on we will continue to talk tomorrow, Your staying in my apartment in the building for tonight" Aizawa says reaching for his phone to tell the teacher's group chat what had happened.
Izuku just nods, tears slowly stopping scared for what will happen tomorrow but ready to let go.
They head to bed, Izuku on Aizawa's bed and Aizawa in his sleeping bag on the couch.
