Chapter Text
He had been staring at the game case for a while now, just debating on whether or not he could get away with just flat out stealing the game he wanted. It was unlikely that he could given that it was a pretty busy day and the workers seemed to be on edge more than usual. The whole fact he was even there was kind of a bust since he had forgotten his gloves which made grabbing anything that much harder than it needed to be. All he wanted was a new game to keep occupied while everyone else was doing missions or recruiting new members to the league.
A blond lady bumped into his shoulder. Not harsh. She apologizes. Noticing the villain’s long face. Can’t help but look at him then at the game that he was clearly looking at. She had already grabbed the game she wanted which was the complete opposite of what the other was looking at. She remembered what her mom told her. A little kindness goes a long way.
“Hey….What’s the matter?” She asked the male.
He stared at her, “Why does it matter to you?”
She rolls her eyes at him, “ Well, you seem to be upset about something... “ She said in a slight blunt manner.
“Just because I fucked up, it doesn’t mean you have to get involved.” The blue-haired man snapped back.
“What if I wanted to help you?” She asked, raising a brow. Her red eye was looking right at him.
“Oh, so some wannabe hero wants to help, what a laugh. I don’t need a little girl’s help,” he responded. “Better run along now before mommy gets worried.”
“Really, lanky boy? How old do you think I am? For all you know, I could be a pro hero.” She teased back.
A snort left him. “So the little girl’s got a bite. Aren’t you a fun one?”
“I bet I am older than you. How much is the game?” She asked Unable to read the label very well, due to her poor vision.
“Not that I need help but, it’s 6,415.50 yen like most new games are.” He answered, almost growling.
She nods Before picking up a copy that was in a security case. She started to head to the cash register, “Stay right here.”
“You have no right to tell me what to do and there’s no reason for you to buy it in the first place,” Shigaraki whined, watching her leave him.
“Hmmm..let’s see. I bump into you. Therefore, buying you a game is the least I can do. Unless you take it from me before I reach the register.” She said smiling.
“There is some massive misunderstanding here. I can’t touch the game right now,” he tried to explain.
“And I can…..Besides, it’s really nothing but a simple act of kindness.” She hummed
“No one does anything for anyone else nowadays. It’s always some kind of trade going on whether they like it or not plus there’s nothing good that could come out of doing something like this for someone as terrible as me,” he responded. His hood shifting back on his head a bit, just enough to reveal a grin that didn’t hold good intentions.
She just let out a small chuckle, “ I am not anyone….. I was raised to treat those the way you wanted to be treated….Which is respectful. What some heroes do, That is just sick. I don’t want anything in return. It’s just a video game.” She explained as her mismatched eyes looked into his. Clearly, She could tell something was wrong. But, she is not going to force a stranger to tell her their life problems. She turned back around and headed to the register.
He huffed and shook his head. It wasn’t often that someone decided to stand up to him given that he was one of the most wanted villains in Japan. The woman had quite the shiny spine for standing up to him and basically forcing him to let her do something for him. Shigaraki already knew that it was probably better to just let her since he did have to get back to the league’s hideout soon. Him being away for as long as he had been was bad enough.
She finished paying for the games. She got a draw-string bag to put his game in. Walking over and handing it out to him, “ there you go, sir.” She said as she held it by the strings of the bag, but in a way where he can take it without actually grabbing the bag.
“It was wonderful doing business with you, ma'am. I must be on my way otherwise I would love to stay and talk more,” he purred as a portal opened behind him. Shigaraki was quick to hook a couple of his fingers around the strings of the bag before stepping through the portal. “Until next time, little girl.”
“Good evening, Little boy.” She teased back. She knew that he was definitely younger than her by 8 years. She knew she could have captured him. But she also can tell he was just a victim of being mistreated after what he had said to her.
As he stepped into the hideout, he was immediately met with the stern gaze of the portal creator. It wasn’t that uncommon for the older man to get on him about various things.
“Do you want to tell me who that was? You know that we’re supposed to be hiding from heroes,” the man questioned.
“Don’t worry about it, Kurogiri. She’s just a nobody that ended up getting me my game. It’s a win-win for us,” he responded happily. “She won’t be a problem. If she ends up sticking her nose where it doesn’t belong, it’ll be a good lesson for the heroes of why we aren’t to be messed with.”
