Chapter Text
“So? What do you say? Isn’t this a pretty good deal?”
Arisugawa Dice always considered himself as a man of few and simple morals. If he got a good opportunity, he would most likely take it even before considering all the aspects implied. He would be the type of guy to put his signature on anything without reading all the terms and conditions first. But hey, most people do that, right?
This time was different. He couldn’t simply accept in a matter of seconds. For the first time, possibly, he wanted to think things through.
He looked at Gentaro, sitting in front of him as the man took a sip of his tea. Hell, Dice was so shocked he even stopped stuffing his face with food after hearing his friend’s words.
“C-come again?!”
Gentaro had offered to treat him to dinner that evening, so of course Dice accepted.
Gentaro had offered Dice to spend the night at his place after that, and for important and superior motives (he was in desperate need of a shower) of course Dice accepted.
But as they were chatting over dinner, when Gentaro offered to pay for Dice’s seconds (that he gladly accepted) the author started ranting about a few ideas he wanted to pick up for his next work. It was a matter of prompts suggested by his trusted editor, who Dice didn’t know and always thought they didn’t really exist, so nothing new or too surprising.
When Gentaro broke down one of those few ideas, Dice choked on his food.
“Have I not made myself clear? Don’t let me repeat my words, not in this kind of place. There are people around, I wonder how they’ll enjoy their dinner while hearing me talk about writing erotica—”
“Okay—Jeez, fine! Don’t say that again!” Dice’s face was beyond red from embarrassment.
“I just—didn’t get exactly why you’re telling me this” Dice continued.
Gentaro tilted his head to the side. “Would you rather I asked someone else?”
No, of course that was out of the question. But Gentaro still didn’t explain why it had to be him.
The thing was… Gentaro wanted to experiment, as his editor suggested. He wanted to explore a completely new field he’d never touched before. In theory, it seemed thrilling and a good way to make more profit, while also expanding his target audience at the same time. ‘A win-win situation’. Those were the words he said to Dice as he explained his plan.
‘I want to test my abilities and this is the perfect way for doing so, but I happen to have little to zero experience in such matters’ he’d said. ‘This is why I’m asking you to join me in my new project’.
What the hell, Dice cursed internally as he watched the author calmly sip his tea. How could he remain so calm and composed while asking him, out of all people, to start having sex just so he could write a book?!
Dice coughed. “Can you tell me again what I gain from this?”
“Full access to my body aside,” Gentaro said with a straight face, “I’ll offer you a place to sleep every night until the project is over, as well as three meals a day and a sum of money for each… ‘Performance’, in cash. As I said, a good deal.”
On the way towards Gentaro’s apartment, Dice’s head was filled with one thing only: not the money he was going to earn, not the fact that he’ll have to see and touch and feel Gentaro, every bit of him, inside and out—no, it was a simple question.
Why me?
Gentaro unlocked his door and they stepped into that familiar space.
Why me?
Gentaro suggested Dice could go ahead and shower first.
Why me?
As water was falling on his skin, washing away the sweat and dirt he’d accumulated in his unfortunate last couple of days where had to sleep on the ground, Dice hoped it would also wash away that sense of guilt permeating in his mind.
Was it really okay for them to do such things?
“Are… are we, ya know… Gonna do it?”
Dice was sitting on Gentaro’s bed. In a tiny corner, very far away from where Gentaro was about to lay down.
The author stood near his side of the bed, studying every expression showing up on Dice’s face.
“Yes, Dice. If you’d be so kind to get on all fours, I shall begin by loosening you up effectively.”
“What?!”
Gentaro laughed, covering his lips with two fingers. “I was merely joking. I would never do things you’re not comfortable with, and most certainly I’d like to discuss what you’d be comfortable with before we even commence.”
“Man, you really got me there” Dice nervously laughed.
“But of course. In any way, my project has yet to start. I’ll let you know when your performances are needed as soon as I get to the writing of those particular parts.”
“Then… We ain’t gonna do it tonight?”
“Oh, Dice” Gentaro’s head bowed to the side. “What gave you the idea we were about to fuck?”
Dice, in all honesty, gasped out lout. “You said—what?!”
That curse word sounded weird on Gentaro’s lips. He never expected to hear it coming from such an elegant and composed person like him. “Wow, man. You let me shower and all! Gave me this night robe without even clean pants to wear underneath, I thought for sure—”
“My dearest Dice” Gentaro smiled, “I simply did that because your body odour couldn’t go unnoticed. And I’d rather you didn’t soak my bedding. Also, this is my night attire, so I don’t have anything else to give you for a change of clothes that would fit you…”
Dice stood up from the bed. “Boxers would have been fine, ya know!”
“I’m afraid I don’t possess such undergarments.”
Dice’s mind went blank at that statement, but it was neither the right time nor place to be discussing underwear matters.
“Then—can I sleep here? Or did I misunderstand that too?!”
“Yes, we may share the bed.”
Dice rolled his eyes. Gentaro was always so proposedly ambiguous all the time, no wonder he had a hard time reading the situation between them.
As Dice was trying to drift off to sleep, the same question kept bothering him over and over again. Why him? he knew asking Gentaro directly wouldn’t necessarily meant he got the answer he was looking for, but he tried anyway.
“Yo, Gentaro. You asleep?”
“I was before you called me.”
“Shit, sorry.”
They were laying far apart, each of them showing his back to the other.
“That was a lie. Tell me, what is it?”
“Why’d you pick me? I mean, if ya really needed experience, I dunno… you look like the type that could have a go with anyone, if you tried.”
“You really think so high of me, that I could easily seduce whoever I wanted?”
Of course Gentaro would reply with another question.
“Well, I guess that’s what I mean…”
“I’m flattered. But I had a specific idea for this project, hence why you’re needed. Does this satisfy your curiosity?”
“Not really, but… how come you’ve got no experience? I have a hard time believing it.”
He could hear Gentaro squirm in his position under the sheets.
“Forgive me for repeating myself, but you flatter me, Dice. I’m not lying when I say I’m inexperienced.”
So apparently Gentaro wasn’t lying about that, but maybe he was about something else. Maybe all of it, except that part, was a poorly made up excuse of a plan for other motives he had. Dice found himself realising he didn’t really care. Whatever help Gentaro needed, he was there to offer it.
Same room, same bed, a couple of days after the agreement.
The sun was setting on the beautiful skyline of Shibuya’s prefecture, and from the large window in Gentaro’s bedroom the beauty of it all seemed doubled.
“I’m sorry I called you without prior warning, it’s not really urgent but I thought I could work ahead since I’m getting closer to a turning point in my writing.”
Gentaro explained while he sat down on his side of the bed. Dice was still standing near the door, watching his every move.
“’S fine, it’s not like I had much to do anyway” Dice shrugged as he stepped closer to the bed, “the new pachinko parlor I wanted to check out is still closed.”
“I see…”
Dice could feel the tension grow in the thin air. When his friend had called him, Dice didn’t have the guts to directly ask him what it was about, if Gentaro needed to simply sort out the terms of their ‘contract’ or whatever that was, or if it was time to get to the main course already.
“Have a seat” Gentaro offered, and Dice sat once again on the opposite side of the bed, keeping his distance.
“I meant here next to me, Dice.”
Reluctantly, he stood up and walked closer. “Am I making you uncomfortable?” Gentaro was looking at him with genuine worry in his eyes.
“N-no, it’s not like that—I’m, huh… I wanna know what this is about, ya know, ‘coz the last time I rushed into thinking we were gonna fu—”
“I wanted to test the water” the author simply explained and he blinked twice. “A little experiment, a warm up.”
Dice had no idea what he was talking about.
“You’re not taking the hint, are you?”
“Please, just tell me.”
Dice sighed, frustrated at himself more than at Gentaro. Why was he so nervous?
“We shall practice a kiss scene.”
It was Dice’s turn to blink at him. “Huh? That’s all you had to say!”
Now looking considerably less worried and anxious, Dice leaned in to get it on already.
But instead of feeling Gentaro’s lips on his own, he kissed the palm of Gentaro’s hand.
“What now?!” Dice seemed confused as to why the author had blocked him.
“My dear Dice, not so fast” he chuckled. “I believe context is absolutely necessary here. My character, the one I’ll be impersonating shortly, is supposed to be the protagonist of the story. I am recognizing you, my star-crossed lover, for the first time after meeting here in another life.”
“So you’re writing about that thing you told me already?”
“That thing is more or less the premise of my new novel, yes. But before I throw myself into a new genre like erotica, I want to experiment with my regular romantic novel first.”
“Then, the new-life crossing lovers is not the main story where you want to add sex scenes?” Dice scratched his head as he tried to process the new information.
“No, my star-crossed lovers story is different. For the erotica, I’ll be suggesting new scenarios for each of your performances. Is that alright?”
“Think so” Dice nodded. “Do we kiss now?”
“My, my… you’re always so naively straight-forward. We may kiss now.”
When Dice reached out again this time, there was no barrier stopping him, no hand flying to Gentaro’s lips to block him out; he instantly felt how soft and weirdly fitting Gentaro’s lips were on his. He instinctively had closed his eyes, as he was used to do, but he decided to take a quick look, driven by curiosity—only to find out, much to his surprise, that Gentaro was staring at him, half-lidded eyes, as their lips were still pressed together.
“You’re supposed to close your eyes, you know” Dice whispered when they parted.
“Is that so?” it was just a quick brush of skin on skin, but Gentaro pressed his fingers right where Dice’s lips were a second ago, and that simple gesture made Dice feel some kind of way, he didn’t know how to describe it. “Have you ever kissed someone before?”
“You know my answer will most certainly be a lie?”
So, no. Dice registered the info and continued. “Let’s try that again, now you close your eyes.”
Same pressing of lips on lips, but it was Dice’s turn to keep his eyes open. From this close, he could see how long Gentaro’s eyelashes were. The author did as he was told, he kept his eyes closed for the entirety of that moment.
“Aren’t ya supposed to impersonate your character or something?” Dice genuinely asked.
“Yes. Well then, I’ll do it right away.”
Gentaro didn’t wait for Dice to lean in this time. He closed the little space between them with urgency, leaving Dice startled for a moment. It was so different from their previous attempt, it seemed like Dice was kissing a whole different person now.
Gentaro’s fingers caressed Dice’s neck, surprising him even more. How could Gentaro suddenly become so forward? On top of that, Dice felt his tongue press onto his lips, so he parted them to let him in even further.
It felt like Gentaro was everywhere, surround him and taking over him in every sense: both Gentaro’s hands were keeping him close, locked together and pressed at the back of his neck, while his tongue was licking inside his mouth. ‘First kiss’ my ass, Dice thought.
Dice felt overwhelmed. They kept going at that pace for a while, and when Dice dared to cup Gentaro’s cheek with one hand, the author gasped for air.
“Open your mouth” Gentaro ordered, “and stick your tongue out.”
Dice was at loss for words. It was supposed to be new territory for the writer, but it seemed like the one in control had been Gentaro all along.
Dice followed Gentaro’s words, allowing him to push his limits. Gentaro licked him, he literally took his time in playing with his tongue before resuming the kissing.
It was lewd. Was Gentaro even supposed to know how to be this lewd? It was unbelievable to Dice, yet it was happening right before his eyes.
Dice wondered if it was okay for him to respond with the same urgency. But as that thought crossed his mind, he felt one of Gentaro’s hands tease around his lower abdomen, pinching and tugging at the hem of his shirt. There was no way he wouldn’t respond to that.
Dice’s hands flew to Gentaro’s shoulders and he gently pushed him down onto the bed. His back met the mattress, his hand was still tugging at Dice’s shirt and in no point in time their lips parted. Gentaro only broke apart for a split of second to say: “I see you’re getting in character as well.”
Yeah, right. In character.
It wasn’t like Dice’s pants were tented already. It was all just a matter of interpretation.
The new angle allowed Dice to deepen the kiss even more, and now he felt like he was the one in control. But when Gentaro’s knee met Dice’s crotch area, he had to think twice.
“What game are you playing…?” Dice breathed.
Gentaro bit his bottom lip before responding. “I was under the assumption that you liked games?”
Dice kissed him again. Mostly to shut him up, but also because he was starting to feel a little desperate. “Hah, shit…”
Gentaro was still pressing his knee onto Dice’s tented crotch, knowing damn well how to be a tease. “Didn’t you want to experiment on kissing? Taste the water or whatever?” Dice’s voice was failing him.
“I surely did, the water is considerably hot.” He smirked. “But this caught my attention. Would you rather I stopped?”
Gentaro lowered his hand as he spoke. Next thing Dice knew, there were not so shy fingers trying to feel him through his jeans.
“Fuck…”
“For what I’m gathering, the water happens to be also quite big—"
“Gentaro—”
There seemed to be no way of stopping Gentaro at that point. His fingers undid Dice’s belt and unzipped the jeans. Tugging at the fabric of the boxers, the author asked in a whisper: “can I?”
Knees weak, of course Dice would surrender.
“Yes, fuck—”
Gentaro was quick in taking Dice’s thickness in his hands. Dice was still on top of him, but it was clear that neither in that position the gambler was ever able to get the upper hand.
Gentaro teased the head of Dice’s cock with his fingers nice and slowly, before beginning to stroke a few times, testing him.
After all, despite the fact that Dice was desperate for release after all that built tension, to Gentaro this was only an experiment. Or so he said.
For the first couple of strokes, it seemed like Gentaro was memorising the feeling of having Dice’s dick under the palm of his hand. Then he finally picked up a faster pace, tightening the grip he had with his fingers. Dice shut his eyes.
He wasn’t lucid enough to process what was happening: Gentaro was supposed to be the inexperienced fragile virgin, yet here he was jerking Dice off to his likes.
“I’m—close” Dice confessed, embarrassed because he wanted to last longer, but the author didn’t seem to particularly mind. If anything, he stroked faster, as his eyes were fixated on Dice’s face the whole time, taking in every one of his expressions.
“You can come” Gentaro’s voice sounded gentle. Maybe that was what caused Dice’s sudden desperate request.
“Can I kiss you again?”
Dice was a panting mess. Gentaro found it cute.
“Why of course, come here” he whispered as his hand movements never stopped.
As soon as Gentaro’s tongue was once again inside Dice’s mouth, Dice saw white before his eyes. He came just like that, hard and fast, spurting right on Gentaro’s white yukata.
Gentaro kept kissing and licking his mouth until Dice was done with his every last drop.
Then, as he was moving on auto-pilot, Dice rolled on the other side of the bed, trying his best to catch his breath.
“Whoa” he was incredulous. “I got—uhm. Carried away.”
Gentaro sat on the bed, quickly discarding his now dirty clothes: he took off the yukata, then the shirt underneath. “No need to feel awkward now” he reassured Dice as he stood up and proceeded in undoing the rest of his clothes. “Now that I’ve seen you climax, there’ll be no more awkwardness between us. Plus, pleasure looks good on you.”
Dice looked at him with wide eyes. He was so pale—no, more importantly. Why was he suddenly undressing?
Gentaro let the remaining clothing fall to the ground. He stepped out of them. He wasn’t wearing any underwear.
“This first step went wonderfully according to my schedule” Gentaro simply said, and he walked towards the door, completely naked.
Before leaving, he only turned his head back to drop a couple more words.
“I’ll go shower first” and he was gone, just like that.
