The Moonlight's Euphoria

Summary:

“Is there something I can help you with?” Seokjin asked. Jungkook’s eyes widened further when he realised this was the first time he was hearing Seokjin speak.

“I-I got caught in the r-rain,” Jungkook spoke out, putting some shivers in his voice. He bit his lip as he pretended to look unsure and insecure. “A-and I’m all c-c-cold right now so I was w-wondering if I could… s-stay inside your house until the rain s-stops?”

~~. ~~

or the story where human Jungkook gets caught in the rain and decides that this is the perfect time to be a damsel in distress for the sexy vampire that lived in the beautiful mansion near his town. Inspired by a Tumblr post.

Notes:

Hi? I am Ann? Why do I suddenly sound so unsure?

Okay I don't like talking much about myself so I am going to keep this quick and short. This fic is dedicated to my two most amazing friends, Sneha and Ari, who I met for the first time on twitter back in 2017. I love you guys and I wish I could say more but, you know how bad I can be with emotions and words so I'll text you guys separately to express my thanks and love. I love you guys so much, never forget that.

Anyways, thanks to all who clicked on this. Get ready for a stupid ride of bad writing. If anyone wants to talk to me outside of ao3- here's the link to my twitter account- annplanet8

Chapter 1: Hungry Eyes

Chapter Text

“Don’t go anywhere near that abominable walking creature of sin,” his mother had warned. “When his car comes into our town once every month, I do not want you to be anywhere near it.”

Yet, Jungkook’s head shot up from the comic book he was reading in the rustic cafe when the sound of the V8 engine of the Dodge’s ‘55 La Femme automobile rumbled through the chatty town, instilling a sudden silence that came from holding one’s breath in tension. His mother’s warning was fresh as the air in Malta in his ears.

He rushed out of the cafe, earning a look of disgust from the owner but what the hell he never even liked the way man charged him extra for just sitting there anyways, to stand on the rosewood porch of the place to stare at the cream and pink coloured car pass by in its usual processional air. It made the new convertible bought by Min Yoongi in the town look like a common taxi that everyone would take to the grocery store.

Of course, Min Yoongi grumbled about the comparison as he quietly stood near his car in a protective stance while muttering incomprehensible insults under his breath.

Jungkook’s initial amazement at the car prevented him before from, however, seeing the even more smug and beautiful looking entity inside.

Kim Seokjin.

The resident/ guardian vampire of the sleepy town of Oak’s Hollow.

A little confused?

How is a vampire freely living near a town full of conservative humans with not a single wooden stake held near him?

Let Jungkook’s extensive research stemming from an infatuation explain.

The town of Oak’s hollow was like any other shady, dark town you would see in the movies- the ones that always had something paranormal or supernatural legends surrounding it with a touch of gothic emblems in its atmosphere and themes. But Oak’s hollow had a contrary aspect to it: it wasn’t always dark here! In fact, it  receives the healthy amount of Vitamin D from the sunlight with beautiful birds migrating there during summer and flowers blooming with a coy blush in every single corner of gardens the townspeople mandatorily owned, and also have a beautiful sunflower garden at the other end of the town that stretched on for miles.

Their town’s bright appearance however got them kicked out of the ‘Cool and Creepy Places to Visit During Halloween’ brochure but the town’s vibe continued along even though the people were extremely offended at their forced exit and rejection of their proposal to make fake cobwebs for Halloween. Apparently the other towns cultivated cobwebs of their own. Jungkook and his friend, Jimin, didn’t get to use their extra-bought yarn for the occasion after that.

But, despite the pastel and candy-like appearance the town had decided to embrace after THAT humiliation, it could not ignore nor hide from the glaring shadow of its eerie history of occult treaties and bonds.

Oak’s hollow was quite an itsy teensy small town centuries ago. In the eyes of nearby regions, it was an ideal spot for defense against their adversaries and also an ‘abandoned’ plot of land. According to them, a population of hundred people was the necessary demarcation for them to consider an area ‘abandoned’. The deaths of hundred people (ignored with their births in the first place) being forgotten helped the other powerful regions assuage their guilt and added logical cognitions to their choice for making the down a defense stand point.

Humans however, were anywhere but far from the idea of perfection when it came to violence. No war would cease without taking at least a handful of offering in the form of departed souls. Not only would it have had the soldiers stationed at the town killed or attacked, but it would’ve had also perished the innocent people of Oak’s Hollow who’d be considered as allies to the soldiers and practically executed.

The people of the town had been devastated. If they had offered a form of resistance against the powerful kingdoms for using their village as a war zone, then those very rich and powerful kingdoms would have had them enslaved or imprisoned them as traitors.

The small council of Elders back then had no idea what to do in their futile situation. Racking their brains for their plight had shown no possible solution to them because who could protect or even fight on their behalf?

Oddly enough, and dramatically enough, the doors of the assembly room of the town had been slammed open with style just when the elders were thinking all hope was lost. The woman that had stood at the entrance looked far more beautiful than most of the waterfalls out there. Her eyes were warm but hard at the same time She had worn a long black dress that only elite would wear for jubilees.

She had looked far too god-like to be considered normal. The elders had felt a quirky sense of fear at the sight for her and waited for her to speak. She had smiled through her red lipstick, that had looked like something else but, they still had waited to have their speculations confirmed.

And it had been confirmed enough. The woman was a vampire; and her proposal had been that she had about ten vampires in her coven (and had been growing too at that time) and that they would willingly help the town in exchange for allowing her family to stay in the mansion that had belonged to a very rich person who later abandoned it for as many generations as they want and also to be known as the protectorate of the town.

Her voice had been considered to be melodic, like a nymph who purely sang for the healthy and prospering growth of trees. Her voice had been enough to charm the conservative and cowardly elders to ignore the slight smear of blood at the corner of her mouth and accepted the terms without a private consultation among themselves.

It did lead to their benefit at the end. While Oak’s hollow were a bit weirded out by the casual walks of vampires all around their town, they accepted the future of it becoming a regular thing fairly quickly when they saw that the vampires indeed had protected them. There were no casualties caused by soldiers of the other regions to the residents.

And Kim Jiwoo-ssi also settled with her husband and son in the isolated old mansion at the far edge of the sunflower garden. And for years they lived in the mansion with no mishaps being inflicted on the comparatively weaker species. Once a month, they visited the town (which had grown significantly since the centuries-old encounter between the elders and Jiwoo-ssi) to be up to date with the policies and activities the town partake in.

However, Jiwoo-ssi and her husband left the mansion two years ago. Something about taking care of  a business that they been committed to elsewhere (how mysterious). But they didn’t leave the town unguarded. They left their son, Kim Seokjin behind to be the protectorate.

And Kim Seokjin wasn’t any less beautiful than his own mother. Jungkook’s nineteen year old self harboured an intense crush on the man when he first began to come to the town for the monthly commitments. His perfectly jet black hair was always brushed in a way that his forehead and dark eyebrows can be seen. He looked poised and very suave in his movements, his posture often suggesting there could possibly be a royal bloodline in his family tree. He was even given the title of ‘Winter beauty’ by the townspeople for always having a cold, yet handsome look on his face.

He was an intimidating person for sure, as seen by Jungkook’s lack of ability to approach the man and strike a conversation with him when he forlornly walks around his town. His gaze was so intense, it was hard to remain coherent in front of him. There was even a rumour that if you look into his eyes, it was bad luck because a mischance would surely fall upon you. But Jungkook didn’t believe that rumour… after all, it was Hoseok’s fault for getting so distracted by Jin that he didn’t notice that he had stepped on a non-existent step while painting the roof of his store on a ladder.

Jungkook was fascinated by the presence of Jin. Despite the high regard given to him by the elders in administration of the town, he was still quite isolated and ostracised by the mass. No one exactly believed him to be reliable, but they believed the horrid rumours of his to be true that were created out of boredom and drunk nights with overly imaginative men and women in the first place .

Jungkook wasn’t like that. He had seen Jin from afar and while he knew that this fact guarantee about him knowing those rumours weren’t true and the method of his vouching was a bit questionable, he had frequently observed that Seokjin’s mannerisms were very prim and proper, nothing like the macabre descriptions formulated by the people of town had given to him.

Speaking of the vampire in the present time, he was getting out of his car right in front of the town hall. His hair was as usual shining its health and light brown lustre in the sunlight, and he was wearing a pair of sunglasses that oddly enough made him seem like a normal, stylish guy. Maybe the only thing that was a defining and visible supernatural thing about him was that he abnormally too handsome.

Jungkook’s eyes followed the vampire’s movements as he shut the door of his car and squinted behind the sunglasses as he looked up to see the town hall. Soon, with his shapely and long legs, Seokjin climbed up the stairs effortlessly, unaware of the ostracising stares he was receiving from the humans around him (or maybe he had just gotten good at ignoring them) and walked straight into the hall, closing the door behind him.

“Stop staring at his ass,” Yoongi’s voice grumbled at Jungkook as climbed up to him from behind. The shorter man soon stood right beside the younger man on the porch. “That ass probably killed hundreds of people with a clench.”

Jungkook refused to move his eyes from the door of the hall, mentally willing for Seokjin to come out of there so that he could get another good look at him. Nevertheless, he frowned at Yoongi’s words. “Are you talking about ass as a physical part of the body or as a description of a personality?”

Jungkook didn’t have to turn back to know that Yoongi is shrugging his shoulders. “The shoes fit both feet so yeah, I’m basically multi-tasking by warning of two ways he could kill you- his annoying smug personality and that tight ass.”

It had become quite a practice around their friend circle to make crude jokes about Seokjin because according to his friends, it was fun to see Jungkook getting riled up and defensive over a guy who kills humans like him to survive and who Jungkook had never exchanged even one word or look with.

Naturally, the taller boy go onto his defensive side. “I don’t know even know if you’re jealous of his tight ass or if you want it,” he snapped back.

Yoongi snorted. “Funny how you would think that I’d be jealous of his tight ass or even want him.” Yoongi coughed snootily. “Have you even heard all the things Hoseok says when he fucks me and what I feel when I fuck Hoseok? I’m good.”

Yoongi slapped his Jungkook’s back jovially, putting his arm around the younger right after the jockish action. “You, on the other hand, need to get some action if you’re going to think that Kim Seokjin, an uptight, rich vampire who probably is super vanilla and ancient, would be able to show you a good time.”

Jungkook’s frown enriched into a scowl. A bitter bile-like taste came into his mouth but he suppressed it. At the end of the day, he knew that Yoongi isn't this hating towards others. He ultimately decided to ignore his crude remarks.

“Also, how will you be able to fuck him while looking into his eyes if you’re going to get bad luck right after?” Yoongi continued, regardless of Jungkook’s sudden bureaucratic silent neutrality. Jungkook this time huffed in anger.

“I thought you hate Jimin. Why are you believing the superstitious shit he says?” Jungkook asked. Jimin was another person in their social circle, but unfortunately, Jimin and Yoongi didn’t get along with each other… at all. Maybe it was the fact that Yoongi’s skepticism interacting with Jimin’s inclination to believe in every superstition he heard always led to their hangouts ending in utter disaster.

As if the Devil was watching over them, Jimin was walking towards the dark-haired duo with a skip in his step. “Hey Jungko- oh no!” Jimin’s cheery greeting ended up in a sound of remorse. He had been climbing on the porch steps to reach them but stopped, his one leg outstretched partly to reach the last step, balancing himself on one foot over the second step. “This has three steps, shit that’s bad luck.” Jimin looked up at Jungkook with a pleading look on his face. “Kookie, be a good kid and just lift me off this step please.”

Jungkook clicked his tongue. “Jimin hyung that’s belief is only meant for staircases with thirteen steps.”

“Yeah and the number thirteen has a three in it, therefore it’s applicable to all the numbers with a three in it.”

“...shouldn’t it also be there for numbers with a one in it?”

“One is a smaller number, it’s harmless,” Jimin dismissed. Then he gave an impatient look to Jungkook. “So, are you going to help your hyung or stand here disrespectfully while I’m pulling a muscle?” The last bit was said with a flourish and aggressive was of the foot that was still held mid-air.

Jungkook sighed, throwing a quick glance at the door of the town hall and moved to help pick up his friend. He put his arms around the shorter man’s waist and hauled him onto the platform. From behind, he heard Yoongi gave an angered hiss.

“He made up that bullshit so that he can show me his tongue and middle finger!” Yoongi complained when Jungkook turned around to look at him inquisitively. The whiny voice of his older hyung made him think how the hell was he the youngest one here.

Jimin began to yell back, “Listen here you little bitch I don’t need an excuse to do that anyways.” With that, he slouched as if to get down to Yoongi’s little height and stuck his tongue out with two middle fingers up.

Jungkook took that as a cue to lean against the beam of the building to stare at the town hall doors again, not in the mood to play the peacemaker between the two short fools fighting behind him. He didn’t care if his heart eyes were out there in the open for everyone to see.

Jungkook was in no way a popular person in the town. He had always preferred to stay in his introverted space and chose to not hang out with random strangers at garden parties and brunches. Even his crush on the resident vampire was not that popular- only the butt of the jokes made by the circle of friends he went out with and maybe even few of the relatives.

(After all, his mother kept having to remind him of not going anywhere near Seokjin or even openly staring at him like how he was doing now. He had a sneaking suspicion that one of their family friends or relatives was was snitching on him to his mother. But he had stopped giving a fuck about investigating into those gossips every time he caught a glimpse of a pair of pink, plush lips in the sunlight.)

Seokjin’s monthly encounters in the town always gave Jungkook a great opportunity to daydream to his heart’s content. In fact, he doesn’t even want to wish for Seokjin to visit more than once a month because that would literally never wake up Jungkook from his dream world where he would go on picnics with the vampire- the vampire drinking from a blood-bag and him eating a potato sandwich with olives. A month was a great time to wake up Jungkook from his daydream.

“-why are you so bitter about me dating Hoseok? We literally told you that we won’t mind being in a poly relationship with you-”

“Like I would suck your dick.”

“That’s alright then, Hoseok will do it.”

“You fucking four foot two bitch-”

Jungkook had zoned in to make sure that his two friends haven’t killed each other yet and zoned out when his momentary concern disappeared.

He remembered this one time he was knee deep in homework and was working on it in an outdoors cafe when he had seen Seokjin walking by, inspecting the lanes and neighbourhood with an interest and a clockwork twisting and turning in his mind. He had been so close to Jungkook’s table, yet he hadn’t noticed the man because he had bent down to pick up a ball that hit his foot.

Jungkook had gulped when he got a satisfactory view of the vampire’s back muscles gleaming and moving in glory under his thin white, dress shirt. He had swallowed his imlette hard when he noticed how broad Seokjin was and was stuck with an imagery of him picking up Jungkook like his weight was nothing and asking him to hold onto his shoulders.

During his imaginings, his eyes had gone automatically down the older man’s physique, magnetized out of his delusions when he saw how tiny Seokjin’s waist was. It made his shoulders and hips look wider which made him lick his lips. He wondered how the tiny waist would be under his hands.

Of course, Jungkook had managed to get a glimpse his ass high up but by then Seokjin stood up straight, gave his signature, unreadable grin to the neighbourhood’s skater boy, Yeonjun, who was playing with the ball that hit the vampire in the first place before handing it over with a polite bow. Yeonjun, who never really cared about town’s gossip anyways, had accepted the ball with a smile and bow as well and with a quick ‘Thanks!’.

The close-up presence was a great opportunity for Jungkook to approach the vampire but like a el poulet he was, he hadn’t done anything but gape at the man’s behind.

So yes, going by how Jungkook always fantasized about talking to the vampire and flirting with him and by all the doodles he drew of Seokjin in his university notebooks, you can say that Jeon Jungkook had a serious, repressed crush on someone who drank blood to continue living.

“Could you stop staring at the door? You’re probably going to creep your own crush out,” a voice whined in his ear. When he turned back to glare at the person who broke his concentration, he saw it was just Jimin, drained out from his fight with Yoongi, who was also standing next to him still huffing his tiny shoulders but now giving a judgemental look to Jungkook.

“What happened? Have you guys finally given up on comparing dick sizes with each other?” Jungkook retorted, a little angry that his friends are imposing in his fantasy space.

Yoongi cocked his head to the side. “Have you finally given up on your crush?”

Jungkook and Jimin snorted simultaneously. Practically everyone they knew would know that Jungkook giving up on his crush would be like the oceans rising upwards to the sky. Basically, it will never happen.

“I don’t understand.  Why don’t you ever try talking to him if you feel so much on his behalf?” Jimin asked, not judgemental at all but curious.

Jungkook took a moment to formulate his answer, glancing at the doors again as if it were a reflex. “I don’t know… Seokjin-ssi looks so reserved. I don’t think he would want to talk to me,” he answered, not saying the word as a self-derogation but as a matter-of-a-fact. “He’s also so… intimidating.”

The short duo laughed at the youngest’s blush. This was probably the first time he was seeing Jimin and Yoongi agreeing on something together.

“You really don’t give yourself enough pats on the shoulder, kid,” Yoongi said, shaking his head with a friendly smile. “That guy lives all alone in that creepy old mansion of his with no one to talk to him. I don’t think he would mind having a cute guy like you striking a conversation with him on a dull day.”

Jimin nodded unintentionally before and frowning at himself for visibly agreeing with Yoongi. The other man looked at him with surprise. “While I do admit he can seem a bit unnerving, I don’t think that should hold you back. He just has a resting bitch face.”

Yoongi nodded at that, “Like me.”

Jimin wrinkled his nose. “No, you’re an actual bitch.”

Yoongi closed his eyes firmly and then opened them with annoyance written all over them. “I thought we agreed on a truce to help our little brother here out on his gay crush,” he gritted out. Jimin shrugged his shoulders “Can’t help it when the opportunity shows itself.”

Yoongi sighed, turning back to Jungkook again, “What we are trying to say is this- go and ask your vampire crush out.”

Jungkook stared at his hyung blankly. “It’s that easy?”

Yoongi bit his lips unsurely, “Well, not really. But aren’t you tired of just staring at the guy five hundred meters away once a month with no intention of ever finding out if your crush is worth it?”

Jungkook opened his mouth and then shut it again. He pursed his lips in thought as he considered the concern over him by his hyungs. And then frowned. “Why do you guys suddenly want me to go talk to him?” Jungkook asked, suspicious. He looked at Yoongi with a confused frown. “Weren’t you like just insulting him?”

Yoongi’s lips went into a straight line as he racked his own mind visibly, holding himself from telling something. Finally, he conceded to reveal it with a sigh. “Jimin just told me that he would go on a date with me and Hoseok only in a world where you actually go talk to Seokjin.”

Jimin scoffed haughtily and said sarcastically, “What an organic way of approaching your goal.”

Jungkook stared at the duo with disgust. And for once he actually thought they understood his attraction. “So this was not about me but about you, Yoongi hyung.”

Yoongi shrugged his shoulders, but his eyes clearly said that he was a bit worried that the youngest would be mad at him. Jungkook rolled his eyes at the display of ego. “I’ll do whatever I want with my crush,” He sniffed. “At least I’m not denying it or trivializing it like how you two are.”

Yoongi and Jimin froze. The warmth of the day disappeared with a gust of cold air. Jungkook decided to ignore the karma-imposed tension and went back to leaning against the beam, this time his back against it with him watching the door over his own shoulder. He swore he couldn’t even hear the other two breathing.

Jungkook decided to give one more last jab. “At least Hoseok is the smartest one among you guys.” He turned his head in front to look at his friends venomously. “He’s the only one who knows what he wants and is patient enough for it,” he said forcefully.

With that, his head is back to watching the door over his shoulder. His two friends stood in front of him for few more seconds, frozen at his outburst, before they start to leave. He could sense the footsteps beneath his own feet and figured to scurrying, flighty ones are Jimin’s and the ones that sound like stomping are Yoongi’s. The oldest hyung paused, gave a glare that the younger man could sense, and then jumped off the porch.

Jungkook rolled his eyes. He was glad that he knew his friends well enough to know they won’t ever be serious about his crush.  Jungkook let out a breath, trying to relax himself, but he continued to find him agitated and with a chip on his shoulder. Yes, he was tired of doodling Seokjin’s face in his university notebooks and getting caught for it and yelled at for not paying attention. Yes, he was tired of not ever having enough courage to not give a fuck of what the town people think and actually approaching Seokjin.

But he was also tired of not being understood. More significantly, he was tired of people not treating Seokjin normally. So what if he was a vampire? He was a harmless vampire and probably really great at sex contrary to what Yoongi believed. A shiver went down Jungkook’s spine as he thought of how sex with a vampire would feel like. Vampires are flexible, right?

Jungkook sighed, a feeling of betrayal emerging from within. He wished that Yoongi and Jimin’s pep talk was genuine rather than just self-satisfactory. He at least wished that his jab would give them the push they need to get their shit together.

The town’s clock began its booming sound, signally it was one in the afternoon. Jungkook reflexively  checked his own phone’s clock (even though the two clock very specifically gave one dong) and sighed again. His eyes flickered between his phone’s screen and the town hall and felt this month’s meeting was going on rather too long. Not only that, it was summer and Jungkook could literally feel his sweat staining the back of his shirt.

At the same time, he spotted his aunt walking down the street, looking at him peculiarly, standing near the town hall where everyone in the town  knew Seokjin would be in and he just knew that he was going to be berated by his mom when he returned home. He made a quick decision, thinking of the parallel consequences of the heat and the heat his mom was going to give him and decided to just give up.

Jungkook was dismayed that he had to give up a chance of getting a glimpse of the magnificent and handsome man but Yoongi put him in a way too much bad mood that it overrode his need to see the man. He was going to come next month anyways maybe Jungkook will continue his self-torture then.

Jungkook began to walk downtown. He kicked the rocks in his way forcefully, feeling his friends’ words awaken epiphanies in his mind that he knew of long ago but hadn’t fully imbibed it in his thick skull. He admitted he was a stubborn guy, unwilling to let go of anything without a fight, a testament seen in the fact that he had received a lot of teasing and jokes for having a crush on a supernatural being.

And he also knew the feeling he felt for the older guy was absolutely futile. He knew that his habits of always staring at the guy when he visited the town and daydreaming of actually one day having a conversation with him which will end with a kiss on his lips in most imaginary scenarios in his head were very creepy and obsessive. But it wasn’t too obsessive… it wasn’t like he makes blood sacrifices in Seokjin’s name and make voodoo dolls. He wasn’t hurting anyone with his crush. And as far as anyone knew, Seokjin hadn’t hurt anyone in the town.

So why can’t people just leave him and his feelings alone?

He kicked another rock in a different direction than the first one. He felt his forehead hurt from frowning too much. By now, he was far from the town hall. As he walked towards the sunflower field, he chanced upon the newcomer of the town, Bambam, who was playing with his cats on his house’ porch.

He highly doubted Bambam knew anything about the supernatural history of the town yet, nor the fact that they legit had a vampire as a protector of the town, so his curious brain brought him in front of the platinum blonde dyed man, who looked up at him when Jungkook’s shadow fell on him and gave an easy-going, friendly smile.

“Hey, Bambam. What’s up?” Jungkook asked, as cordially as any other millennial would in the modern generation. Bambam, who continued to sit and caress his cats’ heads, which were purring in contentment, shrugged one should daintily.

“Nothing much. My family is still figuring out all the formalities of the moving in part so I’m pretty much stuck here to make sure no delivery person goes ungreeted,” he replied jovially, a bit amused and shy by his own predicament.

“If you need help with the muscle department of moving in, you can call me.”

“Oh, thank you! I’ll hold onto that!”

“Say, um… do you know anything about Kim Seokjin?”

Bambam cocked his head to side in confusion. His face looked like he was recalling something. “I’ve been hearing this guy’s name. Kim Seokjin?” he asked unsurely, then shrugged his shoulders again. “Sorry, I’ve just heard his name in passing moments but I don’t know too much about him.”

So I was right, Jungkook thought proudly. “Well, I like him… a lot.”

It was odd as to how Jungkook was naturally shy about having a crush but wasn’t shy about telling who he had a crush on. He was in no way ashamed or virginal about it. In fact, saying it to Bambam gave him a sense of relief because after all, it wasn’t like he was ever going to say it to Seokjin himself.

“Oh.” Bambam’s eyebrows went up in surprise. Probably was a bit taken aback at how firmly Jungkook said it. “That’s alright, I guess. I mean, if he’s a nice guy I don’t think it’s bad to have a crush on him.”

Jungkook turned his head to the side to stare at the sunflower field thoughtfully. The sunflowers swayed peacefully with the low wind, as if agreeing with what Bambam was saying. He smiled when he remembered how sweetly Seokjin returned the ball to the kid Yeonjun and the dazzling smile he gave. “Yeah. He’s a nice guy.” Few seconds of comfortable silence passed, his vision flooded with yellow before he sniffed in a heavy exhale and turned to Bambam with a friendly smile. After all, the blonde guy gave him the positivity and common sense he was being deprived of by the people in the town. “Thanks, Bambam.”  After all, Seokjin being a nice guy should be the testament to all. Him being a vampire shouldn’t mean for his rejection.

Bambam looked awkward, unaware of what he had said that was helpful to Jungkook, but gave a nod in return. Before Jungkook could turn to walk away, he called out in a small, shy voice. “Hey, Jungkook!”

The dark haired man turned to him with a look of confusion. Bambam contemplated on what he was going to say next. “There’s this guy called Jaebeom, and I was just wondering if he’s-“

“Single?” Jungkook cut him off, understanding Bambam’s next words before they even left his mouth. Looked like he could understand the sitting man better now they have one common denominator- having a crush. “ Yes, he’s single but he just broke off a serious relationship so first start off slow and become friends with him and then maybe you can ask him out,” he advised with a smile.

Bambam sat up straighter, looking energized under the glaring heated rays of the sun. “Oh, okay! Thanks, man!”

Jungkook replied with a small ‘Anytime, bye now’ and began to walk towards the sunflower fields, shouldering his bag vicariously now, completely energized and in the mood to draw.

~~ ~~ ~~

The sunflower meadow was a place that reigned in both Jungkook’s heart and soul. It was the perfect place to get lost in; to be shrouded from the worries of the world outside of the sunflowers.

He especially loved to take his sketchbook and pencils and drain the creativity bubbling in him with the sunflowers watching, not judging, but just watching, guiding and guarding the man from everything that bothered him. He loved the way the tall, hearty stalks and petals loomed over him pervasively, reminding him that he was alone. All alone in the sea of yellow.

The omnipresence of the flowers watched over him like a God, almost as if they too were involved with the building of destinies, roadblocks of life and growths. Sitting in the middle of the flowers assured him of no one stumbling upon him and interrupting his golden inspiration induced euphoria while his hands scribbled away, sometimes angrily or happily,  or forlornly on the plain, rough paper.

The blue sky contrasting with the sunflower’s yellow painted his routine black and white life with colours that welcomed him with a kiss.

Sometimes, Jungkook wondered if a kiss with Seokjin would be as euphoric as the way the sunflowers joyfully sway greetings of ‘hellos’ to the pristine, white clouds. The romantic artist in him yearned to have someone make him feel what the nature made him feel. More significantly, yearned to have Seokjin make him feel this way in his cold embrace.

His pencil-marked handed skilfully flew on the page. The strokes of his pencil whispering melodies and symphonies to him. His hands began to give birth to a face he wished to confront but couldn’t ever dare to in his entire life.

His crush on the vampire had blossomed into admiration for the older man. First it had been just a schoolboy-like crush that expressed itself with shy glances, red blushes and giggles in the memory of the handsome smirk Seokjin threw at random people in town (whether it was the fluster them or annoy them or both, that only he knew). Now, after seeing the kind gestures displayed by the man, the soft looks he would sometimes give to people of the town innocently carrying on with their day, the way the town’s infrastructure and amenities were developed on the word of a benevolent figure in the town, the crush evolved into a need to know more about the man as a humanitarian.

Now, Jungkook yearned to know that were the aloof Seokjin’s thoughts, his pet peeves, the way he dealt with the criticism and ungrateful attitude of the town, his strengths and his weaknesses. It had come to a point that Jungkook’s adoration for the silent, mellow, tender-hearted gestures with no expectation of anything in return displayed by the supposed feral creature. He won’t even mind being just a friend of the vampire’s.

Because the thing was, that Jungkook felt like he… grew up into another person when he noticed these gestures. He felt that Seokjin inspired him into becoming a better person himself. Maybe he will never ever be able to be in a relationship with the guy but he just wanted to express his thanks at least in person.

Jungkook rested his fingers finally, sighing with a crestfallen expression. He was trying to sketch a rough sketch of the beautiful man but could never ever get it right. The present work had his eyebrows made too thin and his chin was a bit more pointier in real life. Jungkook didn’t know whether he couldn’t ever replicate a perfect drawing of Seokjin’s because of his poor memory or whether Seokjin was way too perfect to ever be replicated on a just a plain, white piece of paper.

“God damn it,” he cursed, running a hand through his hair in frustration and then rubbing his face in discontent. He was a fine arts student for fuck’s sakes.

His eyes flickered to distract himself from his inner-turmoil to the stalks of the sunflowers surrounding him to notice that they weren’t as vibrant green as he had seen to be before sitting. They were sobered green, as if the clouds above were casting a shadow upon them.

Was it getting dark already? Jungkook thought in panic, after all he had to go home soon. Just then, a touch of something cold hit the higher end of his cheeks, close to his lower lash line. He blinked in bewilderment when he noticed it was a raindrop that had fallen.

So it wasn’t getting dark after all, it was just going to be raining cats and dogs on Jungkook’s umbrella lacking ass.

The world surely wasn’t on his side that day, Jungkook thought as he watched in horror as a raindrop fell on his sketchbook, right over his sketch. If he rubbed it away, it was going to smudge the sketch and create a soggy gradient on his paper. “Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck.”

He stuffed in the sketchbook and pencil case urgently into the backpack and began to make a run through the field. His shoes had begun to sink into the moist ground and he cringed at the fact that he would have to wash his sneakers once he gets back home.

The drizzle that had started with a warning began to downpour with fury. “Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck,” Jungkook continued to curse, sometimes in an accidental  sing-song voice, with every step he took. He held his backpack close to his chest, not wanting to get the materials inside wet. He had no idea whether his bag was water-proof or not but he did not want to find the answer to that in his predicament.

He had nothing to cover his head with, a consequence for not bringing an umbrella and for also not using the backpack to keep it over his head. His hair began to stick to his scalp with cold water sticking the strands together. The only action he was focusing on was running away that he hadn’t realise that he was running away from the town and towards a certain looming mansion.

Through the water that was threatening to fall from his wet eyelashes into his eyes, he saw the landscape he was running away from. Everything was like a blue darkness, an imagery that reminded him of one of his art projects where he had to paint a scenery according to a classical poem that heavily relied on coloured imagery. He had picked ‘Bavarian Gentians’ by D.H Lawrence which compared the colour of blue gentian flowers to the dark blue colour of the underworld of Hades.

‘Pluto’s dark blue gaze’, that was what Jungkook would use to describe the chaos left by the weather around him.

His legs began to feel a bit tired, and his mind felt weird as to why he hadn’t found shelter yet. When he stopped under tree that did the barest minimum to shelter him from the rain, he panted and looked around his surroundings for a place to keep him away from the damned rain.

His eyes met with a dark wall, just five hundred meters away. His eyebrows furrowed as he followed up the length of the way with his eyes and widened them when he realised he was standing in front of the mansion that belonged to Kim Seokjin.

“Shit,” he whispered admiringly, not having seen the formidable mansion of the supernatural being’s so up close. It was mostly dark, but he could make out that the ground floor had its light on. Which meant that Seokjin was home… at dispense to provide him warmth and refuge.

He had only two options- swallow his shyness and his fluttering heart to go ask for some time in the mansion from his crush, or, die of pneumonia under the cold, harsh, heavy raindrops.

Damn it, he had just got over his flu a week ago and now he was stuck in a situation he will get it again. He hated getting sick. His eyes blinked away the raindrops on his eyelashes to see the mansion clearly. He gulped.

The Lord was truly paying some sort of sick game on him by making him have no choice but confront his crush this way. He felt his heart beating way too fast in fear and self-consciousness. Was he going to have to present himself like a quivering, cold, wet puppy to the regal looking vampire? Was it the only choice he had?

He shut his eyes firmly as he tried to calm down his nerves, the sound of raindrops being heavy on his ears. Yes… this was the only choice he had.

He pursed his lips and began to move his sudden heavy feet towards the gates of the mansion. He was glad that it was left ajar.

With slow, heaving breaths, he pushed the cold metal with all his force, making it open enough for him to squeeze his body through.

Once he was inside, standing on the grounds of the vampire’s estate, he knew that running away last second would be a time dimension that would end in unfulfilled curiosity. He slowly began to inch his way towards the black door few meters away. The wet gravel making sounds under his sneakers, making him wonder if Seokjin could hear it all the way from the castle and would open the door to yell at him to get of his property.

He looked up at the sky venomously. It was peak summer and the weather had suddenly decided to rain. Shouldn’t summer rain last for like few minutes? That was what he had learnt from the show ‘Ed, Edd  n Eddy’. The rain showed no sign of stopped for the next few hours.

Finally he reached the porch steps of the mansion. Up close, it was way too large and scarier. Usually, in the daylight, it looked like an ordinary mansion, well taken care of. But in the darkness, knowing the history behind it, it looked forlorn and regretful…if that made sense.

The porch, to Jungkook’s surprise, was marble. It made a slight squeaky sound when he dragged his foot against it, making him cringe and look at the door warily, thinking any minute the vampire would accuse him of trespassing. He would rather see Jin in his angered glory for few seconds and then have an excuse to never be infatuated with him again than go inside and be subjected to his intense gaze.

Before Jungkook lifted up his shaking hand to knock on the door, he looked down and scrutinized himself. He frowned in disgust to see he was wet all through and not in his best shape. While he had a shy nature in general, he was pretty confident of his looks, always taking in great care of his skin and hair. He knew he had what it took to look charming and handsome and cleaned himself up pretty well.

At the moment, he looked just downtrodden. His skin looked pale because of the coldness of the weather, and his pores looked visible. Was this how he was going to ask Kim Seokjin for help?

“Ugh,” he groaned in repugnance. He opened his phone’s front camera to investigate his face and found that he was right, his pores did look visible and his hair looked sticky with rain water. He pursed his lips in thought, looking at himself over and over again to formulate a game plan.

Even if there was a chance of Seokjin kicking him out of the estate, he at least wanted to look in a certain way that would make the vampire regret it or at least make a double take at him. He was grateful to his past morning self for picking a white shirt. It looked positively drenched in the water and was sticking to his skin uncomfortably, but he pass off that discomfort. He removed his jacket and tied the sleeves of it around his hips, very lowly.

He tried to stick his white shirt more to his abdomen. The days of him going to the gym with Jimin paid off at this very moment because it could at least take some notice off his wet face. He pinched his cheeks to bring some colour back in them, hissing lightly when he pinched his left cheek a bit too hard.

The look he was going for was a damsel in distress, a gay hot man in distress, but not looking too distressing. He wanted to look like those effortless characters in movie who would look good even when they have been rolled down the mud and hay.

I’m going to make him see me, Jungkook thought to himself giddily. He looked down at his abs, to make sure they were seen through the transparent front of his white shirt.  He bit his lip, still feeling the nerves persist in him ever after the confident pep talk, and began to trudge towards the door.

It was so dark in the front that it took him a while to detect the doorbell, after some fumbling of his right hand against the walls. The bell struck a deep, menacing tone throughout the mansion, loudly call for the attention of lonesome resident inside. It was very Dracula-like sound, making Jungkook feel more anticipatory.

He balanced himself between the balls of his feet and his heels in rhythmic motion, digging his fingernails into the rough insides of his palm at the thought of seeing Seokjin’s face so close. Just few hours ago, he had accepted on having fear reign his life, but now he was meeting the crush of his lifetime with adrenaline and possible fever spiked veins.

He heard soft, elegant footsteps on the other side of the door. His breath hitched. The footsteps stopped very close to the door, as if the person behind them was so surprised to have a visitor. The, he slowly began to hear the locks from the other side whirr to life and they let go of their gears to present the vampire on the other side. It was done so slowly, almost as if giving Jungkook a last chance to make a run for it.

The door opened in a decorous fashion, revealing the vampire, Kim Seokjin in his serene and sensual beauty.

Jungkook eyes widened, losing the cool image he was adopting for a bit until he saw the vampire so close. How could his own eyes deceive him all this time? Now he knew why he never could draw the man so perfectly… because he was a whole another level of magnificence and beauty so up close.

Seokjin stared at him with an intense gaze, his honey brown hair coiffed slightly as usual to show his forehead and dark, formidable eyebrows. Jungkook’s eyes went down the man’s nose and inwardly groaned at the fact that even his nose was so perfectly sculptured. Seokjin’s lips were in a natural pout, the younger man gaped at it the smoothness of his lips and the way his cupid’s bow prominently enthralled him with its perkiness. His eyes went down and gulped when he saw the elegant, but strong looking neck so exposed in the dark evening, looking extremely pale, almost alabaster-like.

Seokjin’s chest was a bit exposed, as he wore a silk, black dress robe  over his torso and an elegant looking pair of pants that didn’t look too casual nor sophisticated. The blackness of his robe enhanced the blackness of his eyes and the paleness of his skin.

Jungkook’s throat was as dry as a desert. He felt the cold of the rain leave him as a warm fluttering feeling danced up his legs and torso. He realised his own nipples were a hyper sensitive (a weird thing to sense but Jungkook wasn’t complaining; he at least got something unique about him) and blushed because they probably were prominent through his white shirt (he felt stupid for not pay attention to them earlier).

Seokjin looked him up and down. For a second, Jungkook felt that he did something wrong, but then noticed a glint of something hot in Seokjin’s eyes when they finished their assessment.

“Is there something I can help you with?” Seokjin asked. Jungkook’s eyes widened further when he realised this was the first time he was hearing Seokjin speak. Oddly enough, his nerves melted into goo at the sound of the soft-as-cotton voice that caressed his entire body with politeness and hospitality… and maybe a bit of seduction but that could be a reach on Jungkook’s part.

The younger man had been too focused on the way pink, plump lips moved around the question that he hadn’t even given an answer, much less started on his original game plan to look enticing.

He’s a vampire, Jungkook told to himself, and he may have seen the most versatile of beauties but you are going to make yourself memorable and the best.

His teachers in his younger day always complained him of being too competitive.

He shrunk himself a bit, to look pitiable and despairing. Doing that action squished his shirt more against his abdomen, a movement that Seokjin slyly and quickly detected with his eyes before bringing it up to Jungkook’s face with his own poker face. “I-I got caught in the r-rain,” Jungkook spoke out, putting some shivers in his voice. He bit his lip as he pretended to look unsure and unsecure. “A-and I’m all c-c-cold right now so I was w-wondering if I could… s-stay inside your house until the rain s-stops?”

He ended the last bit by frustratingly  brushing the hair falling on his forehead off so that he could close his eyes and then look at the taller man through low-lidded eyes, fluttering his cluttered eyelashes. He even quivered his body to make himself look like he was shivering from the cold but the truth was, he stopped feeling cold the moment Seokjin’s eyes went over his body like a kiss. He prayed his act was convincing enough as he lost his method driven act from before.

However, Seokjin’s curious and intense gaze transcended one of urgent worry as he began to spout out, “Oh no, you’re probably feeling really cold!” He opened the door wider as he now ran his eyes again up and down Jungkook’s body as if to detect any visible ailments. “Come inside! I can make you some tea! I specifically learned it from the time I had visited the tea gardens in Assam.”

Jungkook forgot his shy yet sexy gay in distress act when he saw Seokjin’s own natural sensual image drop into image of heart-warming care and concern for his well-being. “Here, come inside,” Seokjin beckoned, taking Jungkook’s bicep with his hand not to feel the muscle there but to pull him inside. Jungkook felt a pleasurable shiver go through his body at the touch of the soft, cold hands.

Jungkook was far too into the zone where he questions the reason for his existence and the sudden change of events in the sexual tension in the air that he allowed himself to be pulled into the mansion by the man of his dreams without squealing.

His eyes were focused on Seokjin’s distressed face, as if seeing Jungkook shivering was causing him some sort of physical pain. The truth was, Jungkook had stopped feeling cold the moment Seokjin had opened the door; the vampire’s eyes on him pleasurably warmed him up with a greeting.

“I don’t usually keep the fireplace running. Even when I do, it’s usually to maintain an aesthetic purpose or fit my angsty mood that come out once in every green moon-“ Seokjin turned to him with a contemplative look, as if he was trying to find out for the reason of Jungkook’s existence too.  “-but for some reason, I had a feeling that I should alight it today,” he trailed off.

So he tried pretend to shiver again, giving a small groan while running a hand through his water-soaked hair. “The weather really didn’t take pity on me today. This coincidence probably saved my life.”

This time, Seokjin didn’t get flustered. He got worked up all over again, “Oh shit! You are cold and I am making you stand here in that ocean you’re all dripping out while there is a warm fire waiting for you.” Seokjin pulled at Jungkook’s arm again. “Come inside. I don’t bite… hard.”

The concern in the vampire’s melodic voice shouldn’t sound as good as it did. But for some reason, Jungkook’s heart eyes for the man made him ignore at it as that and focused on the way Seokjin’s thick lips had softly said that. Damn, the vampire was actually so adorable and shy in person, he thought to himself. The fact that the statement didn’t alarm him as it came from a vampire, went amiss in his mind.

The flirtation attempt warmed up Jungkook’s body, which was something Seokjin missed entirely because he turned away to walk up the imposing, the most gothic looking staircase Jungkook had ever seen. When he had reached the ninth step, he looked down with a polite, coy smile, “I’ll just get something to dry you off. And some fresh, warm clothes.”

The way the shadows cascaded on Jin’s face as he looked down on Jungkook made the younger man’s breath hitch mid-intake. His eyes also had grown darker and more honeyed, and his cheeks sculpted and proud in the room’s lighting- Jungkook was trying really hard to not make his blush notice. “Um, sure. Thank you!” He rushed out the word of gratitude when Seokjin turned around immediately with a flourish after the ‘sure’.

This gave Jungkook plenty of time to distract himself with the house and not pay attention to the fact that his heart was beating so fast that it probably needed medical attention.

He looked around the interiors, his eyes widening at the décor and the style. He could it was largely modernized over the years, but the room still carried a medieval, gothic charm. The furniture was largely rosewood, which made the place look a bit- pardon Jungkook’s odd description of a literal vampire’s lair- romantic.

He saw to his right and gasped at the warm, regal-looking living greeting him. It looked entirely vintage, only a flat screen reminding me that he was in the modern era. And yet, the device didn’t look out of place. Whoever interiorly designed the room, took in a great time to make sure everything complimented each other.

The inside wasn’t too warm nor too cold but felt like it held a pleasant season of its own which made him want to sit on the couch of the expansive living room and do nothing. On his other side were a series of doors on the side of a hallway. He could see flickering lights between the doors and the floor which meant they were adequately well lit inside all of them as well.

So this was how the world of Kim Seokjin looked like.

Jungkook’s eyes felt a bit watery with the way he refused to blink even for one second when he entered the mansion. His lips felt a bit chapped when he pursed his lips, which led to him cursing himself and fumbling with his bag to retrieve a chapstick. Once he used it with a comedic amount of speed, he made some popping sounds with his lips to let the moisture be absorbed and even fanned his own lips to dry it further, not wanting Seokjin to think he did it impromptu to attract him.

Which is what he did just now but not everyone has to know everything about you.

He heard soft sounds coming back down from the staircase. They weren’t like the usual pit-pat sounds a person walking would make but rather soft sounds of someone gliding on the floors with grace and softness. He looked up to see the vampire coming down with a clothes set in his arms and a towel.

He caught Jungkook watching him and gave him a smile, not paying heed to the way Jungkook’s eyes grew wider, his hands around his bag straps grew tighter and his breath became heavier.

When Seokjin finally descended from the last step, he walked to the human with his robe flowing behind him like as if they were his own personal fabric of stars that followed him to prove everyone he will always be untouchable to mankind. To Jungkook, it was like the kdrama male lead coming to save his damsel in distress. And oh, Jungkook was really distressed.

“Hey, here is a dry robe and the towel,” Seokjin softly said, handing over the towel first. “Just remove your shirt now please,” he commanded politely. Jungkook, dumbfounded by the command, still followed it and removed the shirt quickly. He saw the vampire’s eyes study him appreciatively. “You’re not on the verge of catching a flu right?”

Jungkook’s eyes were trained deadest on those pink plush lips and how they barely moved even when the few words were said so softly. The porcelain-like skin around those beautiful lips look good enough to run his own lips upon. “Gabba jushijuji,” Jungkook accidentally babbled.

Seokjin’s eyes widened at the invention of the new language, while Jungkook looked scandalised by himself. Why did he have to be so fucking awkward around beautiful people. He began to splutter quickly so that awkward silence didn’t last longer. “NO! I mean- I’m f-fine as I can be. I’m finer than this towel which by the way is of excellent quality I’d definitely would love to know the brand and you know, sponsor with like bitcoins maybe. Like the texture is not too brittle but not too soft either which is great because it’s very hard to get a medium spectrum-“

Seokjin interrupted him with an alarmed higher octave in his voice, “Are you sure you’re okay? I have no clue of how human bodies work but you don’t get hysteria or anything from like the rain, right?” Seokjin’s hands placed themselves on Jungkook’s shoulders to still him and look into his eyes, not perturbed by the way the human’s shoulders quivered pleasurably at his cold touch.

Jungkook tried very hard to not roll his eyes back into his head. He had to maintain a form of dignity after his initial malfunction. “I mean, it’s a possibility but I don’t think- I don’t think I am hysterical. Just a bit… cold.” He ended it off with a little lip bite to stop himself from going on another rant again.

Seokjin’s eyes narrowed slightly at that. He didn’t seem offended or put off by Jungkook’s reply. Rather, he looked… endeared. Jungkook began to virgoursly wipe his upper body with the towel which may… not looked as sexy as he had hoped because Seokjin’s lips seemed to be holding back a laughter. Clearly he doesn’t know how to flaunt himself.

“As you say then,” Seokjin tilted his head to the side in curiosity. “What is your name?”

I am Mr Sexy, was what got supplied to Jungkook’s brain when he first heard the question. He contemplated whether he should slip his towel down a little bit to show his tits but maybe that would look a little desperate. “I am Jungkook. I live in the nearby town.”

“Oh,” Seokjin uttered, leaning against the backrest of his chair and crossed his legs together very slowly. “Now I know why I found you so familiar. I may have seen you in Oak’s hollow.”

You should see my awesome personality and body, Jungkook thought to himself, I am perfect boyfriend material for a vampire like you.

“And I have seen… you,” Jungkook awkwardly replied. Seokjin laughed in response.

“Then I guess I don’t have to introduce myself.” Seokjin looked outside of his ceiling length, Victorian windows in slight concern. “But I must ask you Jungkook, wouldn’t there be anyone out there looking for you? It is not an easy storm and I hate to have them jump to conclusions on your whereabouts.”

Jungkook furrowed his eyebrows. He was slightly… touched that Seokjin was worried for his loved ones. “I think they’ll be fine. My mother is used to me being away for long periods of time. And believe me, this isn’t the first time I have got stranded during a storm.” It’s just the first time he was getting stranded at a place intentionally but Jungkook kept that knowledge to himself.

Seokjin raised his eyebrows and smirked, as if amused by that answer. “You would think with such a history of being stranded that one would learn to carry an umbrella or pay attention to the weather forecast.”

Jungkook blinked for a few seconds. The tone of the vampire was light and teasing. God dammit he was being teased by the vampire he was trying to flirt with. Or was this the way the vampire flirted? Through teasing? Buzzfeed did not prepare him well to help him distinguish this.

“I do pay attention to the weather forecast,” Jungkook grumbled as he nuzzled further in his towel fort. “My nipples told me there was only forty percent chance of rainfall.”

This time, it was Seokjin blinking in confusion and loss of speech. Jungkook tensed up. Did the vampire by any chance watch Mean Girls? “Your… nipples can predict the weather?”

Jungkook shifted. How was he supposed to now engage the cutely curious vampire in his love for chick flick movies? “Um, not exactly. It can only tell when it’s raining.”

Jin’s eyes nearly popped out with the way he was widely staring at the human. His bottom lip touched the upper lip as if he was trying to mouth the words that were just told to him. “Wait, that’s so… fascinating,” the vampire settled on the compliment. He genuinely looked surprised by Jungkook’s fake power. “Do all humans have the ability to predict the weather now?”

“No!” Jungkook rushed in. If he was going to be unique for the beautiful vampire, he better be the only one with supernatural nipples. “Not all of us have it. I just got the power from my… great great grandmother.”

“Oh,” Seokjin breathed. “And what was her name? I probably knew her.”

“Um, her name was… Karen.”

“Karen?”

“Karen.”

“I,” the vampire hesitated, as if he was still perusing through his memories for a ‘Karen’. “I don’t think I knew a Karen in these parts.”

“Oh yeah, she was an idol so that’s why she had an English name.”

“But Kpop idol culture didn’t exist back—"

“Oh wow, now that is a fascinating mural!” Jungkook sheepishly chirped, springing up from the couch to fumble towards a painting that was pinned adjacent to where he was sitting. He hadn’t paid much attention to it, but he was willing to divert it towards it now. The painting was a simple, gothic design, with three men standing tall and red-eyed in it. One of them, Jungkook recognized, was the man he had been pining for all this time.

Jungkook stood in front of the frame and craned his neck up to stare. “Is this a family picture of some kind?”

“Yes,” answered Seokjin. He was still lounging in his own chair, but he did scoot forward a little to study Jungkook studying his painting. “Those are my brothers—Namjoon and Taehyung. They are far more closer in age than I am with either of them and got along really well. They’re touring all over Europe right now for the seventeenth time.”

It may be Jungkook looking too much into it, but his heart panged little at the sound of slight melancholy in Seokjin’s voice. The rain couldn’t acquire the amount of pain the guarded sadness expressed by the vampire encapsulated. “Do you miss them?”

Seokjin hummed, looking away from Jungkook once again to stare out of the window. “Yes. I miss having a house with more people.” Jungkook could see that. The house was magnanimous and haunting to live in all by oneself. “But being the oldest, it was natural for me to be tied to this responsibility I have over the town. Why should I tie down my two brothers to a place like this when they could be enjoying by themselves out there far more?”

The human furrowed his eyebrows in thought. The whole ordeal was overtly self-sacrificing in his point of view, but what did he know about responsibility of an entire town under one’s wing? Still, he couldn’t help but feel annoyed by the new information he has unintentionally received from the man.

“But do they even visit you?” he asked. Seokjin turned around with surprise in his eyes. Oh crap, maybe Jungkook may have let the annoyance slip in his voice.

“Oh yes they do! They come over and stay for two months every year. This year, however, they might not be able to make it.” Seokjin bit his lip before visibly forcing his muscles to tense up into a guarded smile. “That’s fine though I’ll force them to stay for four months next year to compensate! You see, they are tied up with their own lives there as pretend humans. They really love art so they have tried to become patrons of some forms of artistic capabilities there. Namjoon likes to write and Taehyung likes to paint and take pictures. After they finish visiting Europe, they’re planning on making a year stop in Jordan before going for a three year stop in India. And of course, they will make a stop here too in between.”

Jungkook inspected the details handed to him by Seokjin on his family. His annoyance was somewhat placated (he can’t be against the two absentee brothers like that; he doesn’t even know them;  but Seokjin’s voice sounded so… upset for a second there). “And do you like art?” Jungkook asked, trying to steer the topic of the conversation away from family which was visibly making Seokjin uncomfortable and sad.

“Of course, who doesn’t like art?” Seokjin snorted. Jungkook hated the fact that such an ugly sound looked so charming on such a handsome man. “I really like music. I know how to play the piano, the guitar, the violin and the harp. I am not sure about my song-writing skills but my brother Namjoon did tell me I have a way with words and emotions.”

Jungkook smiled at the sudden burst of childish energy. Finally he learned something that Seokjin was excited about: music. He wondered if it would be too forward and quick for him to ask the beautiful man to play something for him. He had initially come into this house for forty percent refuge and sixty percent to have Seokjin notice him. But now, the opposite was happening for him. He always had looked at the vampire, now he was noticing who he really is.  He felt giddy at the thought.

He decided to ask about the live concert later; when he felt Seokjin would feel more ease to damn his cute humbleness and just play something for the human. Seokjin was out of his melancholic state and was staring at him with great intent and a little bit of… appreciation? He decided to reciprocate the energy of sharing. “I can draw,” he blurted. “My speciality is illustration and I love to sketch landscapes.”

Seokjin smiled prettily. “That sounds so handsome.” Suddenly the vampire’s face paled even more, if that was even possible. Jungkook was still stuck on listening the words echo in his mind but he still noticed the man splutter and stammer in what seemed like him battling a cute, flustered state. “I-I mean, that’s so… neat? I definitely don’t know why I said handsome,” he awkwardly laughed. “This is not to say that your drawing aren’t handsome! I-I j-just meant something else to show that I am listening to you but s-something else just came out. I am sorry, I haven’t had company in a long time. Say, why don’t you show me some of your sketches?” Seokjin stood up quickly in a blur. He was entangling his delicate fingers with one another in a nervous energy. “Do you have some sketches? Because I so would love to see them. I think it has been a century since I last saw a sketch in fact. Oh please show me some sketches!”

Jungkook giggled at the excitement and what it was trying to veil. But if he can wait on listening to Seokjin to play something, then so should him. Hoseok had taught this to him and called it the ‘foreplay of conversations’—keep your interest-sharing topic later when you want to be a little more familiar with the person. And Jungkook was anything but a gentleman… a trying one at least.

“I’ll show it to you later,” Jungkook settled smugly. Seokjin’s eyebrows raised up at the refusal, and his shoulders deflated a bit. Jungkook’s smugness dropped. Oh no, was that lesson part of Hoseok’s how-to-be-a-gentleman classes or how-to-spot-a-fuckboy classes?

“Um, how about you show me around this place? It’s so big and I’m pretty sure there’s a lot of history here,” Jungkook hurriedly changed the topic as he tried to remember what darn classes he attended, headed by his best friend. Seokjin began to look slightly unsure.

“There is,” the vampire hesitated, giving a sweeping glance of the walls on his left. “But the history here largely revolves around my family. Would you like to listen to me talk about myself that much?” he asked shyly.

Jungkook bristled at that. On one hand, he really was someone who loved to listen to history and legends of gothic architectures (which was funny because he had no clue whether some of those are made up to uplift the gothic name because for some reason it was always those kind of buildings that had the spookiest stories). But on the other hand, he just saw how quiet Seokjin became when the topic of family came up. He didn’t want to push the vampire into a memory that he probably perused within himself countless of times in this solitary structure.

“How about… we go around this place and you tell me about all the… scandalous things that have happened here?” Jungkook suggested jarringly. He didn’t think of anything else to say. If he had asked Seokjin to tell myths and horror stories, the vampire would probably not be impressed to be categorised as a myth and horror figure himself. It was safer to ask about the hush hush stuff.

“Scandalous?” Seokjin asked to himself almost. He didn’t seem to grasp the meaning behind Jungkook’s implications.

The human smirked at him for looking so adorable when confused. “Yeah, you know, juicy stuff.” Seokjin looked at him weirdly for saying the last two words. He rushed in to clarify. “Like, gossip. What kind of people cheated on their loved ones in these very rooms? Slip of the tongue moments that led to disastrous falling out of institutions and how those people tried to cover it up. Hypocrisy, sex,” Jungkook grinned at the pale man in front of him enticingly. “That kind of stuff. I heard that your mansion had been used as place for many gatherings, sorties, balls, and all that. Surely there were some things that happened that raised a few gasps.”

Seokjin looked away from Jungkook darkened eyes coyly. He had a small smile playing on the corner of his lips as he humorously reminisced all the things that may have indeed taken place in his home. He looked up to the human with a glint in his eyes. “You are right about the possibility of stories writing themselves. You know what,” Seokjin stood up frighteningly so quick that the human nearly fell back from shock. “That’s an excellent idea! I think that is a great way to pass time.”

Seokjin began to walk away from the human, giving him the chance to stare at the way his broad shoulders flexed under the soft, satin robe. Seokjin stood under the doorframe quietly, touching the dark wood with his pale, delicately manicured fingers. He bit his lip before looking over his shoulder to Jungkook, tilting his head curiously.

“Follow me?” he whispered. The words passed softly through the thick air between the two men before settling within younger man’s year like a soft kiss to the lobe.

Jungkook stared at the pair of what seemed like the most perfect lips he had ever seen. Soft cushions for a soft voice that expelled out of them every time Seokjin needed to speak. The human noticed that while the vampire had an admirable set of cheekbones, there was a little squishy fat on them which made the man look ethereal and unique. Jungkook wondered how the bottom lip on the man would look trembling with pleasure.

He didn’t notice how long he had been staring at all of Seokjin’s facial features. He made a quick mental note of them and the lighting so that he could later sketch an accurate portrait of the vampire. Seokjin didn’t seem to mind the staring as he evaluated Jungkook with curiosity through his eyelashes.

Jungkook gulped before pushing his own feet to move outside of the room, and into the world of stolen kisses and dim lights.

~~. ~~

What seemed like a way for a now robed Jungkook to begin a tension in the air between him and the elusively beautiful vampire, turned out to be a belly-aching situation. He had to hand it to Seokjin, he was a fantastic storyteller.

They were currently in the sixth room on the third floor, where, according to Seokjin, had a penchant for being perused by aroused couples (Jungkook re-worded that as “horny old people”) frequently.

All the previous instances of them talking were nowhere worthy to be compared to the awkward-free talks they were having. Seokjin abandoned all his bashfulness and pleasant host persona in favour of being child-like and petty with the younger man. The carpets resonated with their heavy footsteps that slipped and slid on it because of how much their bodies shook and swayed from their laughter.

“Are you serious? You saw that whole thing happen?” Jungkook asked incredulously to the vampire. Seokjin hummed coyly before looking over his shoulder with a smirk. For a second, the laughter within Jungkook bubbled away to heat at the sight.

“Not exactly.” Seokjin turned to face Jungkook, walking backwards excitedly while swaying his shoulders. “But I could hear most of it. That,” Seokjin pointed at a golden knobbed door. “was my room in last century. So I heard everything,” he chirped, as if it wasn’t a big deal that he had once heard the Prime Minister and the President of a country fucking in all kinds of positions.

“They didn’t ask a good looking guy like you to join in?” Jungkook asked flirtily. He was in a mood to make the older man shy again. Instead, Seokjin just swatted at his arm.

“Why would you wish that on me? They were not that great looking and frankly, they were a bit too noisy.” Seokjin wrinkled his nose in reminiscent disgust. “I was happy that I was considered as an incompetent guardian instead of receiving that sort of attention.”

Jungkook’s neural imaging nearly stopped, and so did his feet. He stared at Seokjin with disbelief. “People thought… you were not going to be a good guardian?”

Seokjin hummed, unaware at how shocking this information was because he just swayed on his feet few inches away from Jungkook. “Not all thought that, honestly speaking. But yes, there were a few naysayers. Most of them thought that my younger brother Namjoon would’ve been a better guardian. And personally, I thought that too.”

Jungkook found this kind of monarchical politics interesting. He leaned against the wall of the hallway, feeling the cold mahogany screech at the sudden warm contact. “Then, how did you become the guardian of Oak’s hollow? Was it the whole… the oldest gets the job kind of a thing?”

Seokjin thought for a moment before replying. “Not exactly. It could’ve either any one of three of us to have this post. At first, Taehyung and I would enable Namjoon to take up the job, but he has always been such a free soul.” Seokjin smiled fondly at the thought of his younger brother. “Even Taehyung. I admit, I also am a little bit as well but, compared to the both of them, I was more of the homely kind. I didn’t like travelling much, nor being among big crowds.”

“One day, Namjoon told me, in a fit of extreme fear mind you, that he really didn’t want to be stuck in this castle, guarding a town that just saw him as a mere mindless beast. He had been talking to Taehyung about what he was planning on doing when he got out of here and Namjoon just… fell in love with the similar idea of going abroad and learning new artforms.”

Everything began to click in slowly in Jungkook’s mind. He still felt his own expressions frowning. He opened the can of worms again, a.k.a, the family topic. But he just needed to clarify one last thing. “And you just, I don’t know, took in the duty to spare Namjoon of it?” Seokjin shrugged.

“You can say that’s what I had done. In the beginning, I thought it won’t be so bad.” The vampire suddenly looked alarmed. “Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate it per say, I just sometimes feel like I’m—like I’m missing out on a lot of things.”

Jungkook pursed his lips. He was skeptical of everything now. “How bad are we to you?”

Seokjin shifted nervously on his feet, as if he was thinking of a way to sugar coat his answer. “Some of the head people are nice, but some aren’t. Children often come and talk to me, but they get dragged away the moment their parents notice them near me. Frankly saying, that make a huge scene and I always hated being the centre of attention.”

Jungkook smirked at the last admission. How shy and cute was Seokjin because frankly, it was becoming too much for Jungkook’s heart. “Of all things, you despise it when people are looking at you.”

Seokjin scoffed. “Hey! I just told you I am not very good with large crowds.”

Jungkook’s smile slipped away, as he thought more about what Seokjin just told him. So he wasn’t the only one who felt like he was cornered into the most unhappening spot in the world. A centuries old vampire felt the same as him too.

“If it makes you feel any better, I don’t like it here much either,” Jungkook leaned away from the wall to stand in front of Seokjin, staring into his eyes. “I too feel like I’m missing out on a lot of things.”

Something sparked in Seokjin’s eyes. It was a mix of surprise and… apprehension all of a sudden; as if what Jungkook just said wasn’t a very positive thing to say. Before he could correct it a bit, Seokjin smiled, removing the spark away from his warm irises and clapped his hands. “Shall we continue the tour? I need to tell you about how I got two princesses to leave their lovers and get together with each other instead.”

Suddenly, Seokjin grabbed Jungkook’s palm and began to pull him further deep into the hallway. Jungkook squealed almost at the thought of his crush holding his hands with him so comfortably right now. He didn’t pay attention to where he was going, dwelling deeply onto his fascination for how Seokjin’s pretty hand held him. His own palm looked uncared for because of how rough they had become with some manual labour he had done in the past. But with Seokjin’s hand in his, he felt that his callouses didn’t matter because the softness of the vampire’s won’t leave him ever.

They explored another floor together. Many a times, Jungkook would forget his own cool image he was trying to exhibit and openly whoop at the stories being told to him. The castle was fascinating, and strangely enough, even with so much space, it didn’t look very intimidating as it did on the outside. It looked homely. Even the rooms that hadn’t had guests in for ages.

Every single spot was taken care of by Seokjin, and Jungkook could see that the care was done with sincerity and… a tone of sadness. Some rooms were perennially cold and empty, and couldn’t be made warm again no matter how much a person (or vampire) arranged it. Such rooms still held an abnormal arrangement of furniture, as if the rooms were trying to convince themselves that they aren’t vacant and that they house someone. Seokjin may have not noticed, but in such rooms, Jungkook’s hearts broke a little at the sight of the moonlight streaming into them, desperately trying to bring some life.

They reached a floor which reminded Jungkook of how much his legs were beginning to pain at the thought of the stairs he had just climbed. Just as when Seokjin was about to burst into a another story, he instead stopped himself and looked at Jungkook peculiarly.

“You know,” he started, with narrowed eyes focused on Jungkook. “you are really strange.”

Jungkook, surprised, barked out a laugh. He was acting strangely with all this newfound confidence he was throwing into random compliments for the vampire but he didn’t think that it was strange enough to be noticed. “What? Why?”

Seokjin crossed his arms and pouted. “You are in a mansion with a vampire, and yet, you have not asked me a single thing about what it’s like being a vampire. At this point, I feel like I should be scared of you because you are not acting like any kind of human.”

Jungkook laughed again. “You are quite different than what I have read about vampires too!”

Seokjin gasped in offense and crossed his arms. “How so?”

“Well,” Jungkook began, I thought all vampires are supposed to be super… uncool and mysterious and talk in riddles. You are really shy for a vampire.”

Seokjin got flustered by that as he began spluttering. “E-excuse m-me! Maybe you humans just like to discriminate and hold unrealistic standards for people that are not like you!”

“Okay fine, fine. I’ll ask one vampire question.”

Seokjin tipped his head to the side prettily. Jungkook glanced at the smooth neck and swallowed. The mischievous glint in Seokjin’s eyes were very enticing. “Go ahead, Kookie.”

“Kookie?”

“It’s a nickname I feel like suits you.”

Jungkook hummed, trying his best not to betray the fact that he was swooning over his crush giving him a nickname. He came into this house as a rookie, but he is emerging as a fucking CEO now. He then asked his question, “Okay, so my question is, where do you get your blood supply from?”

Seokjin giggled and pretended to think long and hard about it. “I drink animal blood,” he admitted. “And contrary to all types of beliefs, one animal’s blood is enough to sustain me for three whole months. After that time period passes, I feed again.” The answer was casual, but it still brought a smug smile to Seokjin’s face, as if he knew what Jungkook was going to say next.

The human whistled appreciatively. “You sound… far more composed and resilient than us humans then,” he said in a sardonic tone.

“That was what I was saying. I am human,” Seokjin replied, and then rushed. “in a way, I mean. I might not be exactly like a conventional human, but I am one who has to also follow a form of accord and law all his life to make sure he is one.”

Jungkook hummed in thought. He was still standing on the topmost step of the staircase, and ran his hand over the polished, expensive material of the railing. “That sounds true in a way. But you are privileged in a way, with all this super strength and not to mention, this,” Jungkook spread his arms around to indicate the entire house. “wealth. Even if you were a human, you would be able to afford all those expensive vegetables and stuff. Some of us humans don’t have that extrinsic or even intrinsic advantage to be that kind of levelled human. But we are still humans nonetheless, I am not negating your status of humanity either.”

Seokjin stood there with eyes wide, as if he hadn’t expected Jungkook to be speaking something so serious. That was technically not his fault, Jungkook had indeed been taking himself very lightly tonight (which explained his sudden extroverted need to talk and flirtatious confidence) because of being in the presence of his crush. But this was something Jungkook felt very passionate about. He was first introduced to the in-depth analysis of the disparities among humans and the forms of ableism by Yoongi and he had been so interested in it that he went ahead and even did some research on it. This was a topic he could talk about for hours.

Seokjin recovered himself quickly, but there was a pleasant radiance of additional respect accumulating in his thoughtful irises. “I have thought about that,” Seokjin whispered. He looked up to stare at the high rise ceilings of his castle forlornly, as if he secretly scorned it but at the same time, cared for it. “I have definitely thought of my privilege in a way—especially how I was born into it ages ago. It’s too late for me to turn back from it now. But yes,” He turned away to look at Jungkook’s eyes again. “you’re right about everything. I have an added advantage in my life which I must acknowledge; I am not clueless about that. It is one of the reasons why I always try to find some work or the other. I sell songs and melodies to various recording companies. With those royalties, I try to give it away to people who need it more than I do.”

“You sell songs?” It was Jungkook this time who was shocked. He always had a vast taste in music and maybe he heard some of Seokjin’s compositions. Jungkook didn’t know how this was possible but everything uttered from Seokjin’s mouth the past few seconds just made him more and more attractive with every word: he was aware of how distinct strata’s of society were and that he himself is privileged, he accepted that form of criticism from Jungkook without getting too defensive and dismissive, he revealed that he still works and writes music, he revealed how he donated that income to people who are disadvantaged.

God, Jungkook thought, this man is a fucking Disney prince.

Seokjin giggled. “Yes I do. They mostly get sold to be used as original soundtracks for movies or theme songs. I have had some danc-y songs that get sold to some of the kpop bands too. The only one I can think of is this band called Seventeen because I really loved their music before and was so happy that they used one of my pieces.”  The vampire ducked his head, as if he was shy all of sudden talking so much about himself.

Jungkook began to vibrate with excitement because what the fuck, that was so cool. “Maybe I heard some of your stuff! Tell me the name of one song, please!” he begged. Seokjin’s eyes got shyer.

“My most favourite song got a lot of attention which was called ‘Tonight’.”

“Oh my god,” Jungkook’s eyes nearly popped out. “I have heard that. Fuck, you composed that?” Seokjin nodded softly, but with a soft giggle. Jungkook would’ve swooned over that reaction but he was currently head high among the stars as he thought giddily to himself that he had heard Seokjin’s music. His smile dropped a bit when he realised something. “It was so beautiful but it was a little…”

“Sad?” Seokjin offered, giving a resigned, sad smile. “It was. I wrote that when I felt like I was doomed to live all by myself. I had pets over the past years who met their demise because of the inevitability of old age. One day, after the grief got too much and I just… wrote that song. It wasn’t very cathartic, to be very honest, but I felt like I had something tangible once again in my reach for my pets.”

Jungkook was left speechless. Seokjin’s melancholic vibe was back again, but this time, the human felt that the best thing to do was let the vampire be sad rather than dismiss it with a change of a topic. He didn’t want to make Seokjin think that his grief wasn’t valid or… tangible. Jungkook took a step up so that he was at the same level as the vampire. He took the hand once again into his own. He didn’t know why he did that, but he knew enough that he and Seokjin felt at ease with one another sufficiently for him to offer a skinship of comfort.

“I thought,” Jungkook paused to take in a hard swallow. “I at first thought that the song was about losing a lover.”

Seokjin gave a light, sad laugh. “A lover is considered to be one of the types of cherish companions. My pets were my cherished companions as well.”

Jungkook suddenly remembered how a long time ago some people from the town who passed by the castle have said they had heard an insistent dog barking loudly and excitedly for days until one day, it was heard no more. That had been last year. Tonight was released earlier this year.  Jungkook swallowed hard, because he couldn’t even bear to imagine losing his own dog and losing more dogs while he just flourished away from the restraints of age.

Loneliness was eating away at Seokjin like a parasite. It was a wonder how Seokjin still remained bubbly and friendly throughout all of this. The vampire tensed away from his own slouch and clapped his hands, as if call off his scene of vulnerability. “I completely forgot! I wanted to show you the ballroom!”

Jungkook narrowed his eyes to look at Seokjin. The sadness still persisted in his eyes, but his lips were pushing into a convincing smile. Jungkook didn’t want to just abruptly throw away a can of worms, but if Seokjin wasn’t comfortable, it would be best to just head wherever Seokjin was heading.

~~ ~~

The vampire didn’t walk further in last time for the particular room; the free space was right at the beginning of the hall with tall, decorated doors. The carvings were floral and leaf-like, vining up the dark wood like natural additions. The knob was shiny and metallic but looked large and heavy. Seokjin’s pale fingers rested on it gently, before giving a quick twist of an arm and an effortless push to the door. The room before Jungkook clearly had a lot of leg room.

It looked like the typical ballroom that would be designed in a movie, with ceiling to floor window lining in the entire extent like guards watching over a gathering. The room was expansive, and maybe that was why no one needed to go further into the hall to find a door for this place; it was as long as the hallway almost.

The floors looked glasslike almost. In maybe a large gathering setting, it would be carpeted and the amount of legroom would’ve been decorated with table and chairs perhaps. Jungkook was almost afraid to put a foot on the polished wooden floor, scared that he would scratch it.

But Seokjin was already inside, twirling around almost to look at Jungkook’s reluctance to enter and getting confused by it. His lips pouted and his bambi-like eyes stared at Jungkook. The human felt his own cheeks burn with the amount of attention he was getting from the beautiful man, but he pushed away his bashfulness to slowly put his foot on the floor. When his foot slid slightly, a squeaky sound resounded.

“Wait,” Jungkook’s eyes widened as his other foot touched the floor. “This is like a dance floor!”

Seokjin rolled his eyes endearingly. “Of course it would be like a dance floor. Ballrooms are meant for dancing, you know.”

Seokjin turned away, making a loud squeaky sound with his own feet and began to walk deeper into the moonlight that was dusted with rainwater shadows. Jungkook looked at his own skin to see the impressions of droplets that were still streaming in a downpour outside. The shadows made the place look more haunting and somber and… blue.

The blue floors remained pristine and solid under Jungkook’s feet, as he walked with heavy footsteps towards the vampire who stood in front of one of the large windows. The shadows got more and more erratic on his pale skin.

“There’s the town,” Seokjin pointed outwards for Jungkook, turning his head to glance at him standing a step behind. “This is the view I get of the place from you.” Seokjin crossed his arms as he stared out with an absent look on his face, his hospitable smile slipped to not something sad but rather as if he was just observing.

Jungkook looked to where Seokjin pointed at and whistled at the watery blue sight. He always knew his town was small as fuck but from here, it looked like it only consisted of two houses because of the angle and altitude. The rest of the place looked like it was just filled with meadows and hills. He wondered what Yoongi would think if he saw the town as this small, but then again, Yoongi always preferred solitude and small places more than Jungkook and probably won’t think much different than what he already knew.

“It looks like the size of my little toe,” Jungkook said with a sigh. Seokjin glanced at him with amusement before turning away again to look at the town.

“I agree,” Seokjin smiled a little. “I always hated how ungrateful and close minded the town was towards my mom, and now to me. But in a way, I am glad that they haven’t gone on an extra mile with the urbanisation. It is perfect as it is.”

Jungkook glanced at the length of the room again and sucked in a breath, swaying a little on his toes. “You know, your house looks huge even from all the way down there.”

Seokjin laughed, “My dad was an undercover architect for this place. My mom wanted someone else to design our house here and give my dad a break from all the blueprints, but he was stubborn. And he wanted to gift her something so he made this house. He was tired of all the people in the town looking down on her for not being a human so he decided this place so that she could literally look down on them.”

Jungkook whistled again. “Wicked.” He turned away from the window the crane his neck. Shit, those are some scary looking chandeliers up there. Yoongi would’ve gone berserk if he saw them. “What scandalous story happened here?” he asked, still looking up curiously at the fixtures.

Seokjin chuckled. “Well, a lot happened here and it would be too much to explain. I don’t want your night here just be listening to an old man talk about history.” The vampire turned away from the windows to glance at Jungkook. He had a curious glint in his eyes. “What about you? What can you tell me about yourself?”

“Me?” Jungkook asked, surprised. He didn’t mind Seokjin talking all night long. Compared to the older man, he didn’t consider himself to be that interesting. “It’s a cliché wattpad thing to say but there’s not much to me. I like working out, drawing, as I already told you, I also like dancing. My best friends, Hoseok and Jimin, taught me some moves they have learned from their dance classes. I don’t talk to a lot of people. The only time I consider myself interesting is when I am with you,” Jungkook ended his monologue cheekily, wanting to bring the attention back to the shy supernatural entity.

Seokjin gave an annoyed sound. “Stop turning this to me. Oh my god, I can’t believe you!” He threw up his hands in frustration and turned away, but he was still smiling, all pleased with Jungkook’s flirty advances.

Jungkook laughed, sucking in another breath again. The room was awfully cold. Jungkook could swear it was becoming a bit hard for him to feel his own legs under the damp pants. He hadn’t dried himself properly when Seokjin had first given him a towel, he was too busy staring and admiring the vampire instead.

A comfortable silence set in. The cold wind bit at his ankles again. Yet, Jungkook couldn’t bring himself to tell that to Seokjin, afraid he would just look whiny. Instead, he remembered how, long ago, he and Jimin were stuck in a mountain lodge without any heaters and decided to cardio exercises to warm themselves again with the burnt calories. He smirked at Seokjin’s back before removing his phone from his pocket and scrolling through his apps. Once the music app reached under his thumb, there was no way of stopping him.

Soft rock beats began to fill the room, urging Seokjin to turn back with surprised, wide eyes and to see Jungkook goofily, yet smoothly swaying his shoulders to the beat.

Seokjin stared at him with incredulous eyes before those sweet lips opened and asked him a gentle question, as if he was approaching a wild lion. “Jungkook, what are you doing?”

Jungkook’s heart fluttered to hear how well Seokjin’s melodic voice blended in with the song. “This is a ballroom isn’t it? There should be some dance pizazz sprinkled here!”

The song began to speak softly with its lyrics, but Seokjin still stared at Jungkook with disbelief as he dramatically, yet gracefully twirled on his toes.

I've been meaning to tell you
I've got this feelin' that won't subside
I look at you and I fantasize

“Oh come on! Dance with me! This has always been my biggest fantasy!”

Seokjin raised an eyebrow. “Dancing to a song that was released in an 80s film in a ballroom with a vampire who is slowly beginning to find you weird and random?”

You're mine and tonight
Now I've got you in my sights

“Of course!” Jungkook said enthusiastically. He started to sway his hips slowly like how Hoseok and Jimin had taught him to. The vampire’s eyes slowly fell down to the movement. Jungkook smirked at how Seokjin was beginning to eat at his own words.

The older man slowly advanced forward, still not looking like he wanted to dance but rather as if he was mystified by Jungkook’s dance and just wanted to see it closer. The human’s smirk transformed into a grin, coyly moving even more backwards. Like a magnet, Seokjin followed his walk.

With these hungry eyes
One look at you and I can't disguise
I've got hungry eyes
I feel the magic between you and I

Once Seokjin’s mind looked to be muddled by the sound and the sight, Jungkook gently took his compliant wrists (the cold touch was a nice burn to his own warm skin) and tugged at him shyly. Seokjin tensed up and looked like he was about to scream out a stream of ‘No’s but Jungkook just gave a puppy dog look and instead, brought himself closer to the man.

Up close, the moon and rain’s blueness streamed over Seokjin’s face like a silk cloth. Jungkook for a second forgot what he wanted to do because his mind could only think of just staring at that perfect face with perfect eyes and lips like as if it was a scroll prescribing his destiny.

“Please,” he rasp-whispered. Seokjin swallowed visibly before pushing himself closer to the human. Jungkook’s nose was hit with the soft smell of cotton flowers and lemon sharpness. It was such a homely smell that Jungkook just wanted to burrow himself into blankets that shared the same scent (or Seokjin’s arms can suffice. He wasn’t picky) He resisted the urge to sniff at Seokjin like an excited and curious puppy.

I want to hold you so hear me out
I want to show you what love's all about

Jungkook smiled at Seokjin assent and put his compliant palms on his waist while his own hands rested on Seokjin’s broad and tantalizing shoulders. The older man was still confused, because even with their dance position, he still seemed overwhelmed by the song and was just standing in one place. Jungkook chuckled before taking control of their baby steps, making them dance slowly to the beat with their hips and feet.

Seokjin looked dizzied.

Darling tonight
Now I've got you in my sights

“You’re not going to bite me, are you?” Jungkook joked, wanting to ease their tension—filled with both sexual desires and self-conscious apphrension. “I know I probably smell delicious.”

“You do,” Seokjin agreed dreamily. Split-second later, he shook his head like the small, cute bat that Jungkook had rescued long ago when it had accidentally hit a tree while flying. “And no, I’m not going to bite you. Didn’t I just tell you that vampires actually have a good sense of restraint?” He scrunched his nose haughtily. It was such an adorable sight that Jungkook nearly cooed.

“Yeah but I also heard that a vampire’s bite is really pleasurable for a human.” Jungkook smirked and wiggled his eyebrows at the vampire. “I would like to know how that feels.”

“Ew, no. First of all, it’s not all endorphins and serotonin how some people make it sound like.” Seokjin looked almost offended by that assumption. “It’s actually like a mosquito bite which will feel really itchy later on. Second, all these assumptions and superstitions about vampires is borderline sexualising. Whoever wrote them just wanted to be fucked by a vampire.” All of sudden, Seokjin’s eyes focused and narrowed down on Jungkook. “And no, I will never ever ever ever bite you, you pervert.”

With these hungry eyes
Now I've got you in my sights

The older man ducked his head when he heard those lyrics, feeling embarrassed at how opportune it was. Jungkook laughed, and held onto those shoulders comfortably. Seokjin, while sounding all disgusted by the vampire’s myths, looked slightly pleased to see him all giggly and comfortable around him . Jungkook felt the palms of his waist knead slightly. He resisted the urge to purr like a cat.

Jungkook turned them at different angles, taking full advantage of the smooth, glass-like floor. He was even more mesmerised and softened by the way the shadows fell on Seokjin’s face at different angles, showing how he’s beautiful in every crook and corner. His eyelashes looked shyer almost, and his lips still appeared that pigmented red even if the room was washed with blue. Jungkook wondered if they would become redder if someone were to play with it with their own teeth, lips and tongue. But he shook away that thought quickly.

“What do I smell like, though?” Jungkook asked curiously. His head felt heavy, as if it was gravitating itself to rest on Seokjin’s broad shoulder, but he resisted once again. The moment was perfect as it is and he didn’t want to make it awkward for the vampire.

Seokjin hummed in thought, but Jungkook could make out that he was taking little whiffs of Jungkook’s scent in. He smirked inwardly at the slyness.

“You smell like a bit of aftershave, but your true smell is like apples and saline seas.” Seokjin contemplated a little bit more before giving another specific detail. “Oh, and you also smell like paint.”

Jungkook laughed at that. A vampire’s sense of smell was really good because Jungkook could swear he had scrubbed at his body enough last night to get rid of the smell of paint. “Pretty much expected. I was pulling an all-nighter yesterday to finish this assignment of mine.” He smiled at the vampire mischievously. “You have like this cotton and citrus fruit smell to you.”

Seokjin almost stopped mid-movement, but Jungkook kept them swaying. “I do?” he asked, shocked. Jungkook hummed in reply. “That’s… weird. Usually humans smell vampires as something metallic—or granite, not…”

I need you to see
This love was meant to be

“Wait, Seokjin,” Jungkook pulled back, letting go of Seokjin’s soft hands in the process. Something struck his mind and now he was determined to try it out. The song was reaching its crescendo-esque saxophone instrumental. “Vampires have super strength, right?”

“Jungkook,” Seokjin started warningly, looking like a spooked cat already. “What the hell are you planning on doing?”

With these hungry eyes
Now I've got you in my sights

Jungkook walked few more steps backwards, feeling excitement bubble up in him. “I always wanted to re-enact those reunion scenes in kdramas in my reality. I want to do it now.” Jungkook’s smile was practically bursting on his face. He was now, at the perfect spot for the best portrayal of his desired action.

Seokjin froze. “What kind of scene- JUNGKOOK!”

Seokjin was unable to finish his sentence because Jungkook left hi utterly speechless by running towards him at full speed, and then practically pouncing on top of him. Seokjin’s reflexes kicked in a split second before any normal standard, and gripped his thighs which were not tightly wrung around his waist.

Jungkook smiled that smile which most of his friends have told him was his irresistible facial expression. His bunny smile. “Ah,” he sighed with relaxation seeping into his body, surrendering himself largely to be supported up like this by Seokjin. He wrapped his arms around the vampire’s neck. “I always wanted to be the one who did all the lifting,” Jungkook nuzzled himself further into the aerial embrace. “but I feel like you’re doing a better job than I would’ve.”

The strong built of Seokjin’s held him so much better than that one guy who fucked him against a door once. He could almost fall asleep in these arms.

Seokjin, who was still frozen, spluttered at his content face. “How- you are so random!” The older man looked like he wanted to just drop Jungkook on the floor for giving him a scare like that, but couldn’t bear the action of doing it. “I can’t believe you’re making me do this! Why are should I carry a brat like you and just drop you on this cold floor?”

Jungkook chuckled at Seokjin’s whiny tone. “Please,” he pouted. “Don’t drop me. I am an adorable brat who just wanted to be picked up like a kdrama girl. Do you know much I wished to be a kdrama girl? Even for some of the asshole kdrama men that still looked like a bunch of Adonises. See? You’re such a nice kdrama man,” Jungkook sighed again, ending his ramble to bring his hips further into the hold and play with Seokjin’s hair at the nape.

Seokjin scoffed, but he really didn’t seemed to be burdened by Jungkook’s weight even for a bit. He looked like he was merely carrying a flower vase or a stack of four books. His posture was straight, and his glare was melting into an exasperated expression. Seokjin rested his forehead against Jungkook’s chin, tickling him with his breath. Jungkook barely was able to conceal his gasp.

“I really wish I could’ve foretold for myself that if I let a pesky human like you enter, my night would just end up with you rambling something about kdrama men while you stick to me like a little koala,” Seokjin grumbled.

Jungkook chuckled again. He paused the conversation to take in how domestic he feels with a fucking vampire. He was beginning to understand where Bella Swan from the The Twilight Saga was coming from.

“Haven’t you watched any kdramas?” Jungkook sighed again, a slow melody piano solo began to play over them this time. One thing he noticed was that every time Jungkook tried to shift, and minutely appeared to be pulling away, Seokjin would bundle him up in his hold and bring the human closer to him. Clearly the man’s complaints were empty, Jungkook thought to himself smugly.

“I have. But the recent one I watched got me very angry.”

“Which one was it?”

“Itaweon class.”

“Whoop, I agree. The characterisation sucked in that.”

“Seojoon is dating my brother, by the way.”

“Namjoon or Taehyung?”

“Taehyung.”

“Please tell your possible brother in law to take better roles for himself.”

“I already did.”

Jungkook giggled, pulling his head back to look at Seokjin. The vampire was still swaying under Jungkook’s demand, but he looked back at him with an endeared look. Jungkook knew that his smile was irresistible. But the fact remained, as the night progressed, Seokjin was also becoming quite irresistible to Jungkook too.

A noticeable sexual tension between them persisted, from the moment Jungkook set foot in the castle for the first time till now, even in midst of their friendly banter.

Jungkook stared at how Seokjin eyes warmly regarded him. He liked how the older man had to crane his neck to look up to him. Unrecognizable emotions swirled in tune with the piano melody playing from Jungkook’s phone in those warm irises. Jungkook’s mind flashbacked to all the times the townspeople warned him about the vampire living in the castle all by himself. And now that he was with aforementioned vampire himself, the warnings melted into lies and the truth of how beautifully pure Seokjin was solidified in Jungkook’s eyes.

Even now, Seokjin was staring at with so much intensity as if he was truly grateful for Jungkook’s presence in his arms. He had a half-smile on his face which made Jungkook swoon. Just a couple of hours ago, he was arguing with Jimin that he would never have a chance with his crush. But in the present, that argument vanished into total oblivion in Jungkook’s mind. The keys of the piano began to slow even further, and the swaying soon stopped, Seokjin’s half smile disappeared and now seemed to be staring at the human, deep in thought.

Jungkook shivered, because he couldn’t take the soft, expectant look in Seokjin’s eyes anymore. It was too innocent and vulnerable. He looked away to see that the blues of the room didn’t seem forlorn and empty anymore. It looked almost… clear and bright as an ocean blue seen on a bright sunny day on the beach. Their shadows were conjoined. Jungkook’s heart crumbled deeper into this reality, scared of letting it go.

The song was coming to a close now. And Jungkook was afraid of letting go.

He didn’t know where else will this night lead to. Even if it led to something that would give him confidence, it still was going to leave him infatuated. This was the life he could’ve had every day if he was qualifiable to have met Seokjin earlier on and courted him. And he was now living that life, only for a day, and he was already scared of going back to his blueless life from before.

“You okay, Jungkook?” Seokjin whispered, sounding deeply worried. “You feel… sad all of sudden in my arms.”

Jungkook wetly laughed. Seokjin, the true gentleman. He pulled the vampire’s head so that he was leaning against his chin once again, afraid to let the vampire straighten and see him teary-eyed. “Yeah, I’m fine,” he lied. “I just feel taken care of right now. You are a really good host, you know?” Jungkook sniffled, clenching his eyes close to ask the next question. He just needed to know one thing. “What did you think of me when you first saw me?”

Seokjin tensed in his arms. The broad shoulders appeared like cold mountains below. Jungkook was afraid that the question would lead to Seokjin putting him down and changing the topic. In fear, he clenched his legs around the waist even more, out of pure desperation to take in more of this naïve feeling travelling within himself.

Seokjin took in a deep breath, almost as if he too was taking in all of Jungkook right now. He shivered when he inhaled the human’s scent. “I first thought of you as a poor, helpless thing to be honest.” Seokjin chuckled breathlessly.

Jungkook gave a tighter squeeze at that admission. Seokjin chuckled even more. “But as the night progressed, I began to like—” The vampire suddenly stopped himself, freezing entirely. His arms trembled around Jungkook before swallowing hard.

Before Jungkook could register what was happening to the older man, he was suddenly brought down from the high point, and made to touch his feet on the squeaky floor again. Seokjin’s face looked shocked and guarded at the same time, as if he was about to say something that he wasn’t planning on saying.

Jungkook stared worriedly at the furrowed eyebrows and battling facial expressions on the pristine face. Seokjin was nervously biting his lip, and staring at Jungkook’s lips before shaking his head sadly and moving away from him.

“I am…scared to say what I think of you now out loud,” Seokjin blurted out. His body was tense, but he stared at Jungkook humbly and at the same time, apprehension. “because I will begin to not believe myself.”

Jungkook was confused at what Seokjin was saying. Why was he so afraid of not believing himself. “Why?” Jungkook voiced. He sounded raspy and threadbare.

Seokjin opened his mouth and closed it a few times. He finally found that sweet voice of his again to sweetly say the next few words. “I-I feel too much for you. And it’s only been a night. It’s frightening me and I don’t know if it’s because I haven’t met someone feel this way for in a long time or whether you are just special.” Seokjin laughed all of sudden, but it was a half-hearted laugh. “I kind of want to believe the latter because it compliments the both of us, don’t you think?”

Jungkook’s heart seized and his lungs constricted. He was beginning to open his eyes to what this night was really about. It wasn’t a normal night for even the supernatural creature, not just for him. “Because what you feel doesn’t seem normal?” Jungkook asked, afraid of the answer he was about to receive.

Seokjin smiled pretty, and his eyes glistened like stars. “I don’t feel like this for someone I just met. Usually this feeling builds up over time for me. But with you, it graced me the instant you began to talk to me.”

Jungkook clenched his fists. He understood what Seokjin was exactly saying.

It was routine almost in everyday life for him and Yoongi to be teasing Hoseok and Jimin for being romancing fools he believed that people feel a spark of the first stages of love when they meet someone. He remembered how Hoseok blushed and kept quiet and how Jimin became conflicted amidst the denial and the pining.

He remembered when back in his course, they were asked to watch Ghibli films to study the coloured details and the depth. But one of the reasons why Jungkook despised the idea for having that subject matter was because of how unrealistic he found it to be, even when he had been a child and had watched it during his innocence.

It was impossible to feel strongly for someone you just must.

It was impossible for Chihiro and Haku to like each other so much despite not having many interactions where they actually talked to each other. It was impossible for Sophie to like Howl so much in just few days. It was impossible for Ashitaka to suddenly like Princess Mononoke amidst all the action and turmoil he had to go through. How does love permeate through a shrunken timeframe like that?

But here was he was, standing in front of Seokjin, a vampire that was estranged from the world, left in an empty blue space, his beauty and his immaculate personality unnoticed. Here was Seokjin standing in front of him, many more years of scepticism older than him, but still left vulnerable in Jungkook’s presence.  His eyes were soft and melancholic. His lips, a berry pink, and his eyes, a milk tea brown. He was sadly smiling at him now, as if he was taking in Jungkook’s silence as an answer. He turned away, his black robe, which is like the night sky, twirling with him and the wind, as if waving Jungkook a goodbye. He walked to the door and stood in front of it, his back still facing Jungkook.

The piano melody, Jungkook realised, was the theme that played in Spirited Away. It was now coming to a slow end; the keys pressing slower and slower to show the inevitability of an end. Jungkook could see from the back muscles under the silk robe that Seokjin was tensed and… afraid.

“I think I should take you downstairs. I have some food in the dining area. You probably are hungry,” Seokjin stated quietly, his eyes trained on the floor. Before Jungkook could whisper that he wasn’t hungry, the vampire open the door with a loud creak that silenced the younger man from voicing anything.

Once they were outside, Seokjin acted normal once again, smiling one time when Jungkook accidentally tripped and then caught himself. The vampire wasn’t guarded himself from Jungkook, nor guarding Jungkook from himself. He just looked upset with himself.

Jungkook wished he could

~~. ~~. ~~ ~~

Once they reached the dark brown dining room, Seokjin sat on the edge of the dining table, hopping a little to land his cute butt on it. Jungkook observed his nervous energy and hand fumbling from the doorframe, against which he leant, hands in his pockets and arousal in his eyes as they trailed all over the vampire’s body.

Seokjin was looking up at his own ceiling, as if he had never seen it before, bashfully. Jungkook smirked at how quickly in the short hours of the night he had figured out how Seokjin acted when he suddenly became shy. The neck was outstretched in front of him, and for an ironic second, the human wanted to bite and taste a vampire’s neck.

Few beats of silence passed by. Jungkook could hear the sounds of the trees rustling outside the window of the dining room, that penetrated the quietness of the room. Seokjin seemed to have forgone his regal and poised self, as he sat there with full transparency and trust in front of a strange human, who should’ve been condemning him all night but instead was seducing him not only him with his body, but also with his bright and loyal personality.

Finally, after what seemed like a bunch of long minutes of hearing Jungkook’s breath grow heavier and heavier as if moving up with the seconds, Seokjin uttered few words, “Do you think this,” he gestured all around him, more persistently between him and Jungkook with graceful wrists, “was a long time coming?”

Jungkook’s mind went to another meaning of  ‘coming’ but answered nevertheless, “It feels like it, doesn’t it?” He didn’t realise his voice had gone raspy. He took a step forward. “I had been staring at you afar for so long… and now I’m here, with you.”

Vampire cannot breathe, but Seokjin still took in a shuddering breath as his eyes hooded over observing Jungkook saunter towards him slowly. “This whole day felt like it was opening something for me,” he whispered quietly. “I felt like I had been here for a century only for this night to transpire.”

Jungkook was now in front of Seokjin. While standing, he wasn’t that short of the older man’s imposing height; there was only  one centimetre difference at their present position. But with the man sitting, he had gained a few more centimetres, making the human level his eyes to his perfectly sculpted nose. The plump lips were in his near vision too.

Jungkook’s adrenaline spiked. He leaned forward tentatively, to see if the vampire gently pushes him away, but to his surprise the vampire took it as an invitation to invite him in further; Seokjin held his right shoulder delicately- as if scared of bruising Jungkook-to pull him in. The human’s warm breath tickled the area of Seokjin’s neck that was right below his ears, “I feel the same too.” The vampire let out a gasp. Jungkook smirked. Touch starved indeed.

Jungkook dared once again, this time holding onto the tiny waist of the vampire’s under the robe and massaged the flesh there. Jungkook could swear the heat between them was so tangible that he could hear the sound of something scorching between them as their skin made contact over the vampire’s shirt near his waist. The cold skin beckoned him to take something more.

The younger man’s top lip touched the skin around the neck expeditiously. “You’re the most beautiful man I had ever seen.”

Seokjin keened lowly, his neck stretching blissfully back as his hand slipped slightly on Jungkook’s bulky shoulder. The centuries old something vampire was affected by a nearly two decade and a year old human, Jungkook couldn’t help but take pride and pleasure in that.

Jungkook’s eyes slipped down to see that Seokjin’s eyes were wide apart. The visual was so insane that he had to shut his eyes for a second to gain his bearing. The vampire’s thighs weren’t as muscular as his, but they were pretty and taut under the soft pants he wore.

“You took my breath away, Jeon Jungkook,” Seokjin whispered, running his fingers on Jungkook’s clothed chest, rubbing at the nipples at when he heard the younger man let out a desperate whimper that pushed him to an almost-rut movement. “right away, the moment I had seen you with that wet shirt on and the way you looked at me. God, how could someone look so… hellish when they wanted to be helped at first? I really don’t know. I don’t know.” Seokjin shook his head lightly before dropping his upper body salaciously against the warm wood of the table.

Jungkook cursed under his breath. How dare he tease him like this? “You don’t know? How could you not know what power you hold?’ Jungkook scoffed, leaning forward himself. Seokjin unintentionally widened his thighs away from each to let Jungkook stand within their cold heat. The human shivered when the crook between vampire’s hip and thigh slotted his hipbones with a desperate hold on them. He felt plenty attached to the vampire right now.

Seokjin bit his lip silently. When he released the bottom lip, it shone pink in an erotic fashion in Jungkook’s eyes. He felt something throb rhythmically in between them.

He didn’t notice that the other man’s cold hands were no longer on him, rather they were placed on himself. Immaculate and quick fingers loosened the sash of his black robe gently and slowly, as if demonstrating to Jungkook in a condescending manner on how to untie a sash. Once the sash parted, so did the seam of the robe. A stream of heated skin peeked through the gap. Jungkook swallowed hard at the sight.

Fingers appeared again to slowly part the seams away from the skin. Two pink nipples greeted him softly like a slow blink of an eye. There laid Kim Seokjin, on the table, under Jungkook’s quivering form, legs parted and an untied robe, exposing his chest and pristinely unmarked torso to Jungkook like an artefact. The vampire’s eyes, two soft bead, glittered under the human’s dark gaze.

Jungkook straightened himself just to stare at this point. The more his eyes moved, the more Seokjin shivered, as if his gaze was like a touch to him. Jungkook’s brain ringed with the one sound of a word that sounded short of what he could really describe Kim Seokjin and that was: Beautiful.

Jungkook felt utterly sinful to be staring at a beautiful man like this. He felt aroused at the sight of the man staring at him back, expecting and needy all over.

“Seokjin,” Jungkook breathed out.

“Jin,” the vampire breathed back. “Please call me Jin.”

Jungkook closed his eyes forcefully, as if trying to block out the sight of the man gasping for him. “Jin,” he tasted the nickname on his lips and tongue. It felt heavenly.

“It’s pure… evil that you holding yourself back like this,” Jin whimpered, as if he was seriously hurting by the touch of a demon… or lack thereof. “I thought you wanted me. I have seen the way you were looking at me.” He tilted his head to the side again which Jungkook so wished he didn’t because he was trying his best to not fucking blow up. “Have you been seeing the way I have been looking at you?”

Jungkook shivered. “Yes. I have.”  He lifted his hand to stroke the cold cheek gingerly. Jin’s features melted into content as his eyes fluttered close and his lips stretched into a small, lazy smile. He looked like a well-pampered cat at that moment. “Do you want me, Kim Seokjin?”

The moment began to grow heavy with want, but at the same time a kind of seriousness slipped into it, grabbing Jungkook by the head and slamming him almost into a wall and remind him to think and give space. Right now, Jungkook needed to know what Jin wanted and needed. He always knew his own wants and needs but Jin’s had been unreadable till now. Nothing in the world could ever stop him from being respectful to the vampire.

Jin nuzzled his nose into Jungkook’s palm, brushing his pouty, pink lips against the scribble of ridges that assured the human as sense of grip. Jungkook felt a slight tear beginning to form in the corner of his eye. He didn’t know whether it was because he was trying so hard to focus on the older man in the dim lighting, or if it was because he really couldn’t believe himself to be in this present state of adoration and overwhelming fondness for him.

“Yes, Jeon Jungkook. I want you.”

The melody of consent reached Jungkook’s ears, easing him away from his tensions, worries and placating his fears. He watched for a second longer at the way the light danced on Jin’s torso before lowering himself to his forearms, placing the face he wanted to kiss so badly between it. He held a small distance between them just to see how Jin looked with such a short distance between them.

He looked divine. Heavenly.

The pull was inescapable. He felt a soft impression of a hand pushing his head in further. He had no clue whether that push was magnetic, or a product of gravity, or Jin’s own hand compelling him in, but he preferred having no ongoing investigation in his mind. He just want to be surrounded; drowned in the soft, lilac fragrance of the vampire’s. His lips finally touched the soft, plush lips that beckoned him all night.

At first, Jungkook’s head blanked; short-circuited completely; he was unaware of what brought him here, what kind of a person he was on the inside, what kind of music he loved to listen to. He just held himself still against the soft lips that made him realised how deprived he had been all this time.

The soft skin bounced between his own lips when he moved it slightly. Jin remained stationary, pliant, wanting Jungkook to take complete control here. Jungkook felt heat rising up all over his body, starting from his lower regions and spreading uncontrollably to his heart and parched lips. He peeked his tongue out to taste.

The entire moment was slow. Maybe too slow for some people. But this was a moment for both the men to take and give, give and take, consume and set fire to each other. The taste of Jin’s lips sent fire to Jungkook’s soul.

Suddenly time was slow no more. It was fast and not enough—all because Jungkook turned his head to the side to apply pressure into the kiss and oh fuck, what a great sin he committed.

Jin whined the moment the pressure increased, open his mouth slightly to allow Jungkook to explore it with own tongue. Jin’s hands held Jungkook’s face, squishing it slightly but the younger man didn’t mind that all. He chose to mind the way he evoked reactions out of the older man.

Their lips danced fierily with one another. Suddenly, there was not a single iota of space between them; they were pressed, melded into each other as anyone can be but closer. It would be a wonder if they could ever detach from each other.

Jungkook’s languid and desperate kiss forced Jin’s bigger lips to curve open with a small sound. Jungkook moaned into his mouth delightfully, as if he was allowed the first taste of water. When their tongues met, Jin and he groaned artfully against each other. Jin’s hands strayed to the long, curls of his hair which weren’t wet more (although, his scalp was because of the amount he was sweating in the heated make out session).

Jungkook loved the music he emitted from Jin; especially the wet sounds between their lips. He couldn’t bring himself away from the kiss because that was how much he was getting addicted to it. The way Jin craned and arched his neck showed that maybe his addiction was not one-sided.

Jungkook almost jumped up at shock when he felt something wrap around his waist. He detached himself from Jin’s mouth accidentally and almost felt physical pain at the lack of closeness between them again. He turned his head quickly to glance, only to see long legs covered in soft pants wrapped around him. He smirked at the sight before turning back to see Jin resting his head once again on the table and smiling back at him with a challenge in his eyes.  An almost growl life sound bursted out from Jungkook’s chest before he flung himself back on the cold and hot body below him, moaning once more at the contact between their lips. The legs around his waist tightened even more.

Their kiss wasn’t sloppy but rather passionate and intense. So intense that Jungkook felt that if were to get up too quickly after this, his head would spin. He felt his the skin under his hair almost being branded by Jin’s desperate pulling at it. He didn’t feel like an ordinary college-going student anymore. He didn’t know what that feeling upgraded too and he was in no mood to sit back and think like how Socrates or how  any other lovesick philosopher did, because he was too distracted by the vampire’s tongue and lips.

His body seized up in realisation that he was going too far with the older man on a mere, polished table. Jin didn’t deserve that. He deserved a soft bed to be laid and spread out on and then ravished. Jungkook made up his mind.

He stood up strongly and quickly, holding onto the arched knees to pant out loud. His breathing had seriously been compromised on when kissing Jin. Jin looked back at him with shock and slight hurt. He clearly wanted to keep going. Jungkook smirked at that.

“Kookie,” Jin gasped out. Jungkook raised an eyebrow and at the fact that even a creature that didn’t need to breathe was feeling breathless. His impact. “Kookie, please come back.” Oh no, oh no no no. He didn’t mean to extend his impact to bring almost a teary-like voice out of the beautiful man. Jungkook bent down again to pepper wet kisses all over the smooth and dry face as if he was apologising for all that he has done right before the gateways of heaven.

“I’m so sorry,” he whispered reverently against one of Jin’s closed eyelids. “I’m so so sorry. But I can’t do this here.” He could hear something almost crack within him when Jin’s features folded into sadness and longing again, this time, with a tenfold impact of crumbling. Jungkook definitely did not want that. He rushed in again, desperate to reassure the vampire. “I mean, I want to continue this on a… bed. I want to see you and only you, wrapped up soft cloth and curling desperately into me. I want to make love.”

Jin’s eyes widened. If he had the ability to cry, maybe he would’ve shed some tears. But thank god he couldn’t, because that would devastate Jungkook further. This night was very special to the human. Which is why he was so inclined to making sure that the man he had crushed on for ages was at ease and felt intense pleasure that would satiate him, and his sad face with a content smile, for at least some time. Jungkook needed to see the man happy. Because that was what he deserved.

Jin swallowed hard before nodding softly. He gave a slight sob that sounded so human and tender that almost pulled Jungkook into nuzzling his neck. But he held himself off quite strongly. He moved backwards to gingerly offer space to Jin to sit up and stand.  Once they were standing tall, face to face, it was hard to magnate towards each other almost. Jin was struggling to let any form of space between them, being touch starved for so long and all of sudden faced with the reward of being with someone who is willing to worship him.

Despite the tiny birds revolving around the two men’s heads, they were determined nevertheless to reach the vampire’s bedroom. They half-jogged, as if they were running for cover from tumultuous rain like in those movies, holding each other’s hands. Once they reach the broadening, red staircase at the centre of the mansion, they began to walk up, Jin dragging the human who had become flimsy from his adoration towards him, up the stairs. The pliancy disappeared a second later when Jin looked down with darkened eyes and bit his lip.

Jungkook’s hold tightened as he stopped the vampire from walking further up, standing one step below the older man but still almost at the mid-point of the staircase. He raised himself to tickle his lips against Jin’s smiling lips. He felt a feral need storming up from within which led to him placing his hands on Jin’s hips and pulling him down to lay on the protruding ridges of the stairs.

“Kookie,” Jin whispered for nth time that night. He only seemed to speak to Jungkook softly, as if treating him like a gentle little petal. Jungkook aimed to have him shouting at a higher octave later this night. “What are you doing?” the younger man shushed him sensually before moving downwards, stretching his knee to five steps below to the one where Jin’s feet rested, spread out from each other.

“You’re so beautiful,” Jungkook purred again, kissing feverishly and quickly everywhere his lips could land on the magnificent torso that still peeked from the seams of the robe. Jin gasped uncontrollably and tangled his fingers once again in Jungkook’s long hair, pushing his face further in to persuade out harder kisses.

Jungkook gripped Jin’s thighs fiercely, listening with pleasure at the growl Jin let out at that. He smirked before place the same feverish kisses, this time, peppering it everywhere on the lower region of the vampire’s. He persisted soft kisses on the area where he knew the rim would be. Jin moaned out sinfully once again and shivered. “Jeon Jungkook. I want this to advance, I don’t know, in this millennium?” Jin sassed with frustration etched on his face. He loved the attention but he was still desperate for something more.

Jungkook buried a grin to the inner side of Jin’s right thigh, then mouthed at that spot erotically with fierce determination. Jin almost yelled out in impatience at that. Suddenly, there was sound of air speeding past Jungkook’s ears and in the next second, he found himself almost colliding his chin to the stair where the thigh of perfection had been resting. Jungkook widened his eyes at that and looked around quickly to see where had Jin disappeared to, only to see him standing at the top of the staircase, looking close to heaving out his lungs. Jungkook smirked again. His impact.

“Jeon Jungkook,” Jin repeated again, looking cute with his small, angry expression. “If you don’t hasten this… I swear to god I will lock you outside of my room and fuck myself on my own fingers and you will only be able to hear me. How does that sound?”

Jungkook’s smirk slipped away as he got up quickly to rush up to the vampire’s side in what seemed like a speed that was above the average human’s.

The bedroom was, thankfully, in the first floor. Jungkook had no clue what he would’ve done if it had been higher up. Jin walked fast ahead of him, sparing him a few cautious glances to him over his shoulder occasionally. The vampire was probably paranoid that the human would rush to him and push him against the wall to again tease him. And to be very fair, that was quite an accurate assessment, judging from the fact that Jungkook’s eyes leered and darkened with every step.

They reached the room finally. Jin pushed the door with soft grace once again, but walked in hurriedly. He tensed up in surprise when he turned back to see Jungkook standing so close to him. The younger man stared at him with so much hunger and lust that the older man couldn’t help but reflect it with another bite of his lip. Jungkook’s resistance slipped away and he pushed the door to a close. A split second passed for Jungkook to latch himself once more on Jin’s lips.

Their open-mouthed kiss was akin to a slow waltz under a moonlight. Jungkook’s curls shrouded their eyes from their surroundings and his hands were placed on Jin’s waist, holding him real tight. Jungkook’s eyes were closed, and his eyelids looked tensed, as if he was memorizing the moment so deeply that he was almost inhaling it. Jin let out small whimpers between them every time Jungkook open his mouth wider to let his tongue in.

I always had wanted to French-kiss, Jungkook deliriously and giddily thought to himself as he moved his mouth more and more.

He pushed the other man backwards, expecting the nearness of a bed. Once they reached it, he still continued to hold Jin close to him, forcing their kiss to transition to a slow pace with languidness. Jin smiled into the kiss, giggling at the way Jungkook was openly moaning into it.  The younger man chuckled in response before nuzzling his nose against the vampire’s.

In the course of their exploration, Jungkook failed to realise that Jin’s robe had slipped down and was currently nestled around the vampire’s biceps very loosely. He pulled away slowly to look at Jin’s state of dishevelment. The heat returned slowly but surely in his gut.

He leaned down and began to pepper the soft, bare skin with soft and slow kisses that made Jin hum with pleasure and arch his neck. Jungkook mouthed the man’s adam’s apple and then press soft kisses to it to placate Jin’s whining. He gently released his hold over the vampire’s waist to allow him to sit on the edge of the bed. Jin stared up at him with wide, shiny eyes that almost made Jungkook  want to cry out. He thumbed the shiny, plush bottom lip that belonged to the elusive man and opened his own mouth to sing out praises.

“You’re so beautiful,” Jungkook revered, scanning every single aspect of the cold man. “You make me feel like I’m losing my mind,” he whispered, bending down slowly and release the lip to give it a soft smooch. “I feel like I won’t be able to let you leave the bed anytime soon,” he decided to lighten up the mood with a joke and a grin. Jin smiled and giggled.

“I am not going to deny that from either you or me,” Jin whispered back flirtatiously. Jungkook didn’t notice but Jin had already removed his arms from the robe’s sleeves, and the robe now remained limply on the bed. “My bed can withstand anything, like me,” Jin winked.

Jungkook bit the inside of his mouth. He had seen a hint of Jin’s vulnerable side earlier. He did not want the vampire to think he expected him to withstand everything. At this moment, the human realised how deeply he was infatuated with Jin. He wanted to console his vulnerabilities, support his strengths, and share his own heart too in the process. This was going too fast. A need for an urgent backtracking was felt in Jungkook’s mind as he relayed all of his own self-doubts, and doubts in his current position, within himself. Jin noticed his sudden hesitance and lifted his palms to cup Jungkook’s distressed face.

“Kookie,” the vampire harmonized softly. “If you don’t want… this, please tell me. I don’t want you to regret this. I don’t want you to regret me.” Jin pursed his lips, as if holding back a sob at the thought of Jungkook regretting him. “I… don’t know what has happened to me—to both of us—tonight, but I have a feeling we two have a connection. And having this connection means having a great sense of communication.”

Jungkook widened his eyes, but Jin continued softly, “And this communication means understanding too in some way. Today, I felt like every breath I took mattered because you looked at me with so much focus that I—” Jin bit back a sound “—that I felt like I was not in periphery for once. Not like as if I was pushed to the background like some children’s cautionary tale for all my life. You made me feel like… as though I have someone to listen to me. To be friendly with me. I don’t like feeling lonely, and you made sure I didn’t feel that this night. Many books have taught me that rain always brings bad news and malevolent things. But tonight’s rain brought you to me. And personally, I think… I think you are a miracle.”

Jungkook was overwhelmed at that admission; so overwhelmed that he didn’t notice a hand around his nape, bringing him closer to the vampire and making them lean their foreheads against each other. “But I still want you to talk. Please talk to me about whatever about this you feel is wrong. If you want to act now and talk tomorrow morning, please do because I will listen. Please, I will listen. Just talk to me,” Jin was sobbing now. “Please talk-- no one talks to me. I wish someone would just—talk to me.”

The begging got too much for Jungkook to listen to. He realised there were a few silent tears pouring down his cheek too, just by the sound of the vampire being at the end of his wit. Jungkook gave a quick kiss to Jin’s forehead, shuddering at the way the Jin began to shiver more from that action alone.

Everything paused for a moment. Jungkook held Jin’s face between his palms and breathed in some resolution. “I want you, Jin,” he exhaled shakily. “I want you in every way possible. I was just… scared that we are going a bit too fast.” Jin looked at him, confused.

“Is that a bad thing?” Jin innocently questioned. Jungkook chuckled and shook his head.

“In some cases, it might be.” Jungkook tipped up Jin’s chin upwards with a gentle nudge of his finger. “But in our case, it doesn’t feel wrong. I just wish I could’ve been a little bit more romantic with you,” he laughed softly. Jin’s expression softened, endeared by the adorable desire.

“I am not going anywhere,” Jin whispered assuredly. “You have plenty of time to be romantic with me. Besides,” Jin looked away shyly. “you have been extremely romantic with me throughout this night. Your chivalry comforted me. Even now, with all your kisses and insistent touches, I feel greatly romanced.” To emphasise his point and distract the attention away from his bashfulness, Jin pinched Jungkook’s cheek.

The younger man scowled mockingly before bursting into a soft smile. Jin slumped his tensed shoulders and sighed. “There is that cute, bunny smile I have begun to adore,” he said dreamily.

Jungkook blushed. “There is that… face of yours.”

“What happened? Your stamina of romance ran out?” Jin snorted, his tone was teasing.

“I have called you beautiful far too many times tonight. It’s beginning to slack its meaning now.” Jungkook nuzzled his smile into Jin’s neck, trying to restore their passionate fervour again. “I will look into the dictionary tomorrow to see more new words to describe your beauty. If there aren’t enough, I will create new words.” Jin laughed giddily at that. “You make me speechless.”

Jin’s eyes slipped shut softly at the ministrations ongoing on his sensitive neck. He growled when Jungkook began to bite at it and pulled on the long curls to bring his face back in front of him. Jin stared up for a moment with soft hunger before softly seducing Jungkook’s lips with his own. Jungkook moaned once again at that.

Their tongues danced religiously almost with each other. Jungkook once again, began to lose control of his hands that were now shamelessly roaming all over Jin’s bare upper torso. He had been so focused on the emotions being written on Jin’s face in their previous emotional moments that he forgot that Jin was half-bare already. He pulled back from the kiss to hiss in a breath and gaze at the skin. He was fixated on the vampire’s pert and pink nipples, instincts telling him that it was a sensitive spot for Jin.

He gently nudged Jin’s body to lie on the bed.

The sight now before him was too much to gawk it. Because it was pure art in front of him. Jin now laid on the dark sheets of his bed, chiselled and bare, looking like he was ready to be ruined, devoured and worshipped. It suddenly felt like that what Jungkook was seeing was a boon; a reverent chance to be with a God almost. To see Jin’s chest heaving and his thighs twitching to spread under the cloth of his pants, it was all too much for Jungkook. He could never reproduce such a masterpiece on paper. Maybe on a bed perhaps.

Jungkook became desperate, nudging more at Jin to push himself upwards to the centre of the bed. Once the vampire settled himself, Jungkook climbed onto the soft mattress, knees between the parted legs. He felt like he was making love on a soft-flowing tides of a calm sea. Jin parted his own lips at the sight of the human, like a siren that was ready to sing.

Jungkook held himself up, teasing himself from touching the body below him too much. Gradually, he let himself the pleasure of reducing the cold win between them, bringing himself lower and lower until his lips were again at the vampire’s neck, nipping and sucking and painting. His teeth met soft skin with a soft sting for Jin. His long curls danced on the pale skin.

He moved his mouth lower, touching to soft flesh around the collarbones and the chest. He nearly moaned when he flicked his tongue against the nipple he had been fixated on earlier. Jin arched his back with a loud, crying gasp, which resulted in provoking a shudder from Jungkook. He mouthed the nipple sloppily almost before letting it go to the same thing with the left one.

Jin’s whimpers were like a soft symphony to his ears. He truly felt like an artist at that moment.

When he moved lowers to nip at the skin around the belly, Jin began to shake with giggles. Jungkook raised his head, with an amused quirk of an eyebrow. Jin shook his head giddily. “Your hair is so long,” Jin sniffled. “It tickles me a bit.”

Jungkook brought himself up again, keeping a hair distance between his lips and Jin’s red lips. “Yeah?” he asked, amused. He found the soft crinkles around Jin’s eyes purely adorable. “My hair is tickling you?”

Jin’s giggles began to die down, but his smile persisted. That all Jungkook ever wanted, to be honest. “Yeah, only sometimes,” Jin bit his lip again. “But it feels nice. Like really nice. I feel like your hair is almost like a curtain now.” Jin began giggling again, playing with the long strands of hair on Jungkook’s head.

Jungkook smiled toothily. “But it feels nice?”

Jin hummed. “It feel very nice. I feel like it has a magical touch of its own.”

“You like men with long hair, don’t you?” Jungkook observed, feeling very smug all of a sudden. Jin softly pushed his shoulder back with a small ‘shut up’.

Jungkook snorted before suddenly putting a lot of space between them by sitting up straight, still kneeling on his knees. Jin whined at the sudden loss of touch and heat before Jungkook began to pull at his arms to sit up as well. Once he did, the human was still not satisfied. Jungkook began to pull at him more, until Jin finally got a clue of what he really wanted. He slowly got up and straddled the younger man, shuddering at the feeling of heat emitting from the thighs below him. This position made Jungkook look up to Jin.

Jin smiled at the content expression etched on Jungkook’s face, before re-connecting their lips again, restoring their passion. The kiss continued for a good few minutes with no other distractions when all of sudden, Jungkook felt a rocking movement on his lip. He broke away from the kiss to see Jin shyly moving his hips. The human placed his hands on the smooth, curving hips with fascination at the cold muscles moving there. Jin shuddered once again before clawing at Jungkook’s robe, almost ripping it open with his raw strength.

Jungkook chuckled at the petulant man and just kissed him to silence him from his whining. He multi-tasked and smoothly untied the robe’s sash and threw the garment onto the floor. Both the men whined at the feeling of their skins touching each other. Jin seemed to be losing every semblance of control on his emotions with each touch.

Jin ran his palms slowly across Jungkook’s upper torso, staring at the human with hungered curiosity. Jungkook gulped at how sensual the touch was, almost as if he were a piano and Jin was playing him. When the crooked fingers touched his nipples, electricity surged deep within Jungkook’s core and he whined gutturally at the feeling. God, Jin was driving him insane.

It also didn’t help that the vampire was seductive and in the current debauched state. Jungkook growled when Jin began to rock his hips once again in a soulful rhythm, teasing him out of his own control. Jin smirked at the way Jungkook was barely holding in. Before he knew it, Jin was suddenly tipped sideward and made to lay on the bed once again except his head did not face the headrest but rather faced towards the door. Jungkook was on him once again, continuing his wet, fond kisses on his chest and his abdomen, moaning so that the vibrations could drive Jin mad.

Jin clawed at Jungkook’s back with pleasure. The long curls were once again touching and tickling him in the best sense possible. The sight of Jungkook mouthing at his skin with strands of his hair brushing against his torso and the human’s face was downright erotic in Jin’s eyes. Jungkook worshipped him with so much happiness as if he was being honoured to do this.

Jin arched his back, and his chest squeezed out another nth gasp when Jungkook began to mouth right over his cock, on his pants. He could feel the hum the human let out in his bones and shivered. Jungkook opened his beautiful eyes, and Jin gulped at how the soft eyes had now hardened with aroused determination and darkened with heat. Jungkook smirked at him before  grabbing at the waistband of the vampire’s pants and jerking it down harshly. Jin placed his own fingers on top of the warm ones and helped him to gently remove his pants. Once it was off, along with Jin’s briefs, there was no stopping Jungkook.

Jin had never felt such intense pleasure all over his body ever before; especially his lower region. No area was spared of the loud sucks or reverent bites. Jin amusedly thought in the midst of his aroused haze whether he was the vampire here or Jungkook.

As Jungkook worshipped him, he also seemed to be muttering something against Jin’s starved-for-affection skin. The whispers were soft but they still could be heard by him.

“You’re so lovely,” Jungkook almost sung it out. “You’re so soft, like a petal.” Seokjin whined and hit at Jungkook’s shoulder petulantly at that. Jungkook grinned, at the small show of playfulness. Even when Jin was a supernatural being, he took care to not show his true strength show and hurt Jungkook.

“Stop romancing me with words, I can’t multi-task between taking your kisses and listening to you,” Jin breathily said, ironically, tangling his fingers through Jungkook’s hair to keep his face close to his own skin.  Jungkook mouthed more at the rim to elicit soft, but tonal lewd sounds and staccato, melodic moans from Jin.

“Sucks to be you,” Jungkook sucked on his inner thigh wetly. “I am going to take over every single part of your senses. It is hard to hold myself off of you, as it is,” Jungkook mumbled lowly. The vampire shuddered at the sudden drop in his voice.

At one point, Jungkook refused to let himself off from the erogenous area of the vampire’s, only stretching his strong arms after some time to greet Jin’s nipples with small rubs and soft pinches. The older thrashed around a bit because of that. The sheets were clenched with Jin’s palms, and with the thrashing and movement of their bodies, the fabric leapt in soft folds, dishevelling the pristine appearance of the bed before. Jungkook thought of the bed looking absolutely ruined and debauched; a collateral twist.

After every single inch of Jin’s lower body was kissed and cherished. Jungkook moved up ahead and rested himself on his forearms, holding himself right above the panting man below. Jin fluttered his soft eyes open to look up at him vulnerably. Jungkook winced when his elbow slipped on the bedsheets at the adorable  sight. He closed his eyes to rest his lips once again on Jin’s.

This kiss was slower, more honeyed but still very raw and sensitive. The realisation that Jin was actually naked under him began to hit Jungkook like a salty wave (which was a slow afterthought process as Jungkook was literally kissing, sucking and lathering his tongue on Jin’s body just few moments ago). The realisation probably hit Jin at the same time too because he began to whine at their inequality of bareness. He pushed the waistband of Jungkook’s pants over his ass with a soft, sensual touch. He indeed felt like he was being seduced by petals of a flower.

Jungkook kicked the garment off his ankles, making scratchy, rustling sounds on the sheets with the movement of his legs. Jin’s hands fluttered on his ass, as if he found an exquisite texture to run his hands over and over again. Jungkook plundered the pliant mouth against him with passion, setting his hips to a slow grind under the encouragement of the vampire’s hands squeezing, kneading and pushing him up.

Their hips met each other like tides from an opposing ocean. Yet, their movement remained smooth and erotic. Jungkook swore he could almost hear the sounds of their skin making scorching sounds against each other. The fieriness of their needy state of mind fuelled the beating of Jungkook’s heart by almost ten notches. Their moans and whimpers were lustrous and loud in the room. Their breaths echoed.

Jin gasped when Jungkook’s cock began to rub against his entrance. When the human repeated the movement again, so that he could hungrily observe that reaction again, the response heightened to a level of pursed lips and a long-drawn moan. Jungkook’s length twitched at the opening catching him by the head.

He asked silently where the lube and condoms were. Jin blushed at the sound of their necessities before pointing at the nightstand near their heads. Once Jungkook retrieved that, Jin’s head was lying sideways with his legs parted.

Jungkook stared with heat and want.

Here was the man he had a long-standing crush on. The man he had dreamt about. All of his yearning observations, his fantasies—nothing could be as tangible as this; the tangibility of Jin being desperate for him. He was about to be connected to the vampire in the most pleasurable sense, and it won’t be a light-hearted feeling for him. Jungkook felt his heart growing heavier and heavier as the second passed, as if he was made for this moment; as if he was meant to be doing this, on this night, under a flowery, electric touch.

For a second, he could feel a tear pricking at the corner of his eyes because of his emotions rushing in. He looked away from Jin’s touch-starved body to immaculately apply the lube onto his fingers. Jin’s lips parted in anticipation as Jungkook touched the area he needed him the most in, very slowly; almost as if it were a fleeting moment. Seeing Jin’s beautiful lips parted made Jungkook’s other hand rush to it, gingerly inserting themselves in the vampire’s pliant mouth.

The movement was slow in both ways, only quickening when Jungkook felt particularly evil and teasing. The wet heat on his hands (two different sources) almost drove him mad. Jin allowed himself to be explored deeply, displaying trust for the human who was in awe of being allowed to worship him like this.

Once Jin was ready, tired of being repeatedly held back from the potential ecstatic peak by being fingered and sucking and choking on Jungkook’s fingers, the younger removed his hands from his body altogether to frantically unwrap a condom and to open the bottle of lube to put it on himself; tightly massaging himself almost to hold back an orgasm.

The thunder sounds outside roared animalistically; the lightening strikes’ white beams slashed through the soft darkness in the room, throwing shadows on both men. Jungkook examined Jin’s palms which remained open and each by his head. He slotted a palm of his own into one of the cold hands, using the other hand to place himself at the vampire’s rim. With a reassured look from Jin, he pushed in so slowly that it felt like he was pushing himself deep within the older for hours.

Jin didn’t seem put together as well. He probably could feel every single inch of Jungkook’s being, and was immensely pleasured by the feeling of being filled. He moaned so loud and so warmly that it made Jungkook sob. He hadn’t even realized that he was crying while looking at the vampire, and that his face, particularly his forehead, was drenched in sweat.

Once their connection at a standstill, Jin began to wipe some of the tears from Jungkook’s cheeks. Jungkook smiled wetly before turning his face to kiss the other’s palm. Jin laughed. “You are so pretty, Jungkook,” Jin sighed dreamily, his other hand skirting down Jungkook’s skin, past his dipped waist and then to his ass, where Jin gripped it like he had done a while ago. “And you fill me so well.” The older man pressed on his ass to gently make the younger nudge a spot in him and moaned pleasantly at that.

Jungkook growled, flexing his pelvic muscles to pull back and slam back in to bring that pin peak pleasure back to Jin. The vampire gasped at his harsh grind before recovering himself to give a proud smile. “You’re so good at this,” Jin cupped his face again. “My pretty Jungkook. You are making me feel so light. Please go- ON,” Jin whined out the last word when Jungkook repeated his movement but this time as a thrust and not as a grind.

His resistance had slipped, and his hips moved fiercely. He felt a direct connection neutrally between his hips and his brain and his heart. Jin arched his back when one thrust made him preen out loud. Jungkook smirked at the thought of finding the prostate so soon and began to slow his thrusts to a long drawn one so that Jin reels and melts with each spark. The vampire turned his head to the side, his jaw clenching and his eyelashes fluttering.

Jungkook hid his grunts of pleasure into the long neck and began to cry out loud when he felt his peak slowly creep upon him. He wasn’t going to last along but he would be damned if he didn’t let Jin come first.

He leant up on his haunches, pulling up Jin’s hips to his own and began to resort to the quick, staccato thrusts that let out little cries of whimpers and moans out of Jin’s mouth each time. Of course, Jungkook was hardly silent either. When he looked down at Jin’s body and face, he saw the man looking at him with hooded eyes and parted lips, letting his hands run up and down Jungkook’s body. Jungkook yanked one palm away from his abs to give it a wet kiss on the inside before holding it open over his heart.

They probably resembled like an instrument of some kind in this position, which made sense because what they were creating here, right now, was music. Jungkook leaned down slightly, still holding Jin’s hand to his heart, to whisper. “You’re so tight,” he groaned out after a series of soft clenches around his cock. “and hot. Goddamn, you’re so fucking sexy.” Their pace was frantic now with the way Jin was sensually using his muscles to roll his hips back onto Jungkook.

“Fuck!” Jungkook screamed, letting go of the hand to rest himself once again on his forearms and hold himself above Jin. He grabbed the elder’s lips with his own, thrusting his own tongue to the quickening, harsh beat of his hips, into Jin’s mouth, moaning with every thrust. Jin ran his hands over Jungkook’s ass again to feel the muscles there work deep within him.

When their lips separated for a second, a small strand of saliva connected them, but they were away from each for too long. They kissed again, almost inhaling each other’s souls through each other. There were distinct sounds of the sheets being ruffled, and their skins meeting stuffing up the room.

“Kookie,” Jin whispered against Jungkook’s lips. His swollen lips coldly touched the human’s cheek. “Kookie,” he repeated with a sigh. “You’re so good to me. S-so go—good!” Jungkook was brutally fucking into him now, with tears falling down his eyes. “I feel you so deep within me. Oh my god! Yes, yes, please don’t stop. Fuck me, I’m so close. God, I’m so close. I can’t stop myself from giving myself to you.”

Jungkook was at this point just seeing red everywhere. He kept muttering snarling and high pitched versions of “fuck” over and over again next to Jin’s ears. He reached up a hand to circle his nipple, like a slow rub. Before he knew it, Jin’s legs around his waist tightened and he clenched painfully tight around. He pressed in deeper on one last thrust, and kudos to his carnal instinct and prevision, Jin screamed out as he came hard.

Jungkook pressed his hips in small grind movements to milk the orgasm out, before Jin asked him to fuck him until he could come as well. It only took three thrusts before he too was screaming out his ecstasy, which made Jin whine and sob out loud. The release was so intense, that he almost fell apart, falling onto the vampire strongly, trying to gasp for air. He didn’t even realise he had stopped breathing almost during their sex.

The orgasm shook him to the core. He almost couldn’t envision himself as a physical being. It was truly an out of body experience for him. His body felt pliant and soft; his chest was heaving up and down really hard. Jungkook couldn’t bring himself up, nor even open his eyes. He was just a pile of emotional mess right now.

He made love to Kim Seokjin. The man he believed in, despite being told that he shouldn’t be giving benefit of doubt so easily to vampires of all people. He fucked Jin; the person he lusted and pined over for so long. The person he had a crush on.

In less overwhelming cases, Jungkook would’ve giggled out loud or start gushing. But at this point, he was just… boneless and sensitive. His heart was telling him to not move, not think, not speak, and just embrace the utter joy of having a bombass orgasm and sex.

He felt arms lift him slightly, a slight gush of air rushing in underneath him. He whined when he realised the wet, hot heat was no longer around him and that he was not sheathed in it. His dick felt upset by that, thank you very much to whoever decided to hurt him this way.

Jungkook’s head was gently placed on a pile of pillows, and soon, he was wiped all over by a wet cloth of some sorts and the condom was removed off of him. The sudden cold sensation on his heated body made his nipple harden and his abdomen clench. His hair was swept away from his face by cold fingers. A soft kiss was placed on his cheek by swollen, wet lips, which made him open his eyes a little bit to peer glassily at what was going on.

Jin had taken in charge of their aftercare. He was standing next to the bed, wiping himself with another wet cloth all over his body. Jungkook felt his cock twitch at the sight of Jin tracing his body with a glistening cloth. Looked like his stamina was his only best friend at this point.

Jin looked up to see Jungkook staring at him with hooded eyes again. Embarrassed, he turned away to continue cleaning himself. Slight mistake because Jungkook was already shifting himself to bring himself closer to him, and was reaching out to part his cheeks to press languid kisses on his rim. Jin gasped out in shock, reaching an arm back to press against the back of Jungkook’s head, which motivated him to shake his head and his tongue in. Jin moaned high pitched at that, resisting the urge to part his own cheeks.

Jungkook moved his head in more, feeling clingy to Jin’s ass when the vampire pulled him back and at the same time moved away. Jungkook missed the chance of falling face flat on the floor by a split second. Jin glared adorably at him, unaware how wrecked he looked. “You insatiable motherfucker!”

Jungkook snorted a loud laugh, giggling at the way Jin took something from their earlier conversations and inserted it here.

“Sorry,” Jungkook pouted. “but I will not deny that I am indeed insatiable for that ass.” He reached out to pull Jin towards him by the wrist. The older man walked closer, mumbling curses at his confidence and his gut under his breath.

Jungkook stared up at the beautiful supernatural being in front of him. Truth be told, he felt like he just made love to Eros, the Greek god. The thought made his eyes feel heavy and droopy all of sudden. He couldn’t crane his head up any more, feeling it gravitate towards the soft mattress where it landed on with a soft rustle. He always had a great deal of stamina, but right now, his body was just lying in a slant position across the bed with him on his stomach.

Jin clicked his tongue fondly, before moving him gently to rest his head once again on the pillows. Jungkook could literally feel the slight dampness of the sheets because of his sweat from earlier on, but he couldn’t care less. All he needed was to close his eyes and just dream about the artistic plunge he had just undertaken.

And he also needed…

Jungkook grabbed Jin’s arm before he could move away. Jin gasped in surprise before looking down to see Jungkook giving him a sleepy smile. “Could you hold me in your arms? For the rest of night?”

Jin’s face was unreadable all of a sudden. That should’ve sparked a warning flare in Jungkook’s mind because all throughout this night, Jin was struggling to hide expressions and emotions from his face. Now, it was blank with a hint of overthinking on it… at least that’s what Jungkook could configure that as in his tired haze. He should’ve ignored his sleepiness and asked him if everything was alright.

But Jin scathed away those observations in a blink of an eye, giving a soft, small smile before agreeing to glide in under the sheets and pull Jungkook to him.

Jungkook sighed happily, burrowing further into Jin’s arms, feeling his defined chin rest softly on his head. He gave a cheeky, sloppy kiss to Jin’s right nipple before giggling at Jin’s mock anger. He began to let the comforting darkness of sleep take him, although, his heart was excited at the thought of talking to Jin tomorrow where he could express his desire to court him and take him on a date.

He silently prayed in his dreams that he would say yes.

~~. ~~

The sunlight pouring into the room rubbed sorely over Jungkook’s eyes. He scowled before trying his best to will away the need to wake up, so that he could continue dreaming about soft lips and almond-shaped eyes filled with pleasure and love again.

But his long hair tickled his nose, and his arm was feeling uncomfortably sore. He was sleeping on his belly and could feel within the blossoms of hunger. A soft smell of a fragrant fruit reached his nose like a perfume, so he began to squeeze his eyes open. A soft and light chuckle whispered to him “Good morning”.

He immediately opened his eyes to crinkled sheets and a content Seokjin sitting next to him in a robe once again. Vampires anyways didn’t age, but the satiated look on Seokjin’s face made him look even more youthful and radiant. His hair was still ruffled and his body looked far more relaxed. Jungkook smirked sleepily at the sight. My impact, he thought to himself.

But he was disappointed to see that Jin was robed again, only letting a small sliver of teasing thighs peak through the slit. Jungkook grumbled petulantly at his canvas being covering like this.

“You ruined it!” he whined childishly, rubbing his face into the soft pillows to be tantrum-like. Jin stared at him with amusement quirking the corner of his lips.

“And pray, tell me Jungkook, what did I ruin?” Jin asked, playing along with the grumpy boy.

“I wanted to wake up with you naked in my arms.” Jin swatted him on his bare back which made Jungkook groan out an ‘ow’.

“You are a pervert,” Jin huffed. He tried to shift so that he could sit straight, but Jungkook was clingier and immediately wrapped an arm around his waist and pulled him in, so that Jin was half-lying on the bed with a muscular arm wrapped around him. He had let out a gasp when that happened. “You know,” Jin started, poking at Jungkook’s cheek. “Most vampires don’t allow this to happen to the so easily.” The vampire, however, didn’t look like he minded the tug and snuggles.

Jungkook hummed, nosing at Jin’s concealed collarbone like a little bunny. “Maybe I am a super strong human.”

“Or maybe I’m just soft for you.”

“Hm, I wish you were hard for me instead.”

“Aish,” Jin cursed good-naturedly. He ruffled the tangled curls under his chin vigorously. “You’re such a pervert.”

Jungkook hummed again, his chest feeling as light as a feather. He just mouthed at the collarbone, turning the spot on the robe a little wet but who told Jin in the first place to cover up that delicious body? No one could blame Jungkook for still being horny for the vampire. Jin sighed once more.

“Jungkook,” he beckoned, pushing at his shoulder gently. “I think we promised each other something last night.” Jin removed the bangs covering Jungkook’s eyes and looking into them knowingly. “Remember? About communication?”

Jungkook’s spine felt a spark of alertness climb up as he recounted the blib of words that were exchanged between him and the vampire. He pursed his lips, not out of nervousness, but rather because he was trying to find the right words. He turned to lay on his back, looking up to the half-lying Jin expectantly.

The soft eyes peered down on him with wariness and endearment. Jungkook’s mouth went dry as he saw how beautiful Jin looked in the morning light. His skin had a peach glow to it, and his hair shone with sharpness accentuating the deep colour. His lips were slightly bitten and swollen, which was partly because of how much he bit his own lip and how much… Jungkook bit and sucked on it.

The younger man raised up a palm to caress the soft cheek that preened so beautifully in the light. The skin was smooth and a bit squishy that Jungkook wanted to pinch it playfully. But he settled on speaking finally, “You don’t… regret last night, do you?”

Jin sighed again but also gently shook his head. He turned over his side so that he was lying with his hip curving under the fabric. Jungkook guiltily ran his eyes salaciously along that curve. “Of course not,” Jin gentle voice assured. “But did you regret it? You were a bit hesitant on sleeping with me last night for a minute.”

Jin spoke with a little bit shyness, as if he hadn’t been naked and writhing under Jungkook for a good two hours. Jungkook clicked his tongue and turned on his side too, moving his hand to grasp that curvy hip and pull Jin even more closer to him.

“I didn’t regret it,” Jungkook stated, looking at the vampire with all the confidence and determination he could muster into his eyes. “I hesitated because I was scared that we were going a bit fast and that I was insensitively not giving you a chance to speak about your feelings on it.”

Jin’s eyes widened with shock, and then sympathy. He worriedly cupped Jungkook’s face between his hands. “I had been worried about that too. That’s what I was trying to imply in the ballroom last night. That I personally thought we were going a little too fast. I don’t even know how that’s possible but our feelings really just speeded a bit yesterday. But,” Jin looked down shyly. “you weren’t being insensitive about me or anything. I am… happy that you considered me that way and that you feel the same way too.”

Jungkook smiled, feeling another ounce of tension leave his body. His cheeks and chest felt warm, but his lips felt cold. Well, he had to change that, right?

Jin gasped when Jungkook softly and sensually captured his lips with an audible smack. The human breathed in the vampire deeply before moving his lips and slowly, his tongue into Jin’s mouth. Their tongues danced with each other again, not with the same heated passion as yesterday, but with a mellow and slow burn cadence. Jungkook’s tongue made beckoning motions in the other man’s mouth and pulled him closer, placing one hand on his waist and the other on the hip.

They kissed so softly, but Jungkook still felt himself becoming hard and energetic. Jin’s hand tried to travel up his bare chest, but accidentally touched his hardness and gasped into his mouth with surprise. He pulled away quickly and looked bashful once again.

Jungkook, however, didn’t let him go too far. He grabbed a hold of Jin’s silky thigh and hitched it over his hip, so that they still remained in warm contact. Jin was forced to look straight into his eyes once again.

Suddenly, a smoky smell emerged from the corner of the room. It tickled Jungkook’s nose and aroused hunger out of him. He groaned at his appetite being a cockblock and appearing at that moment. “Ugh, why can I smell bacon?”

“That’s because I fried some bacon for you,” Jin giggled, Jungkook’s hold on him loosened but the vampire still remained comfortably close. “And I poached some eggs for you too.”

Jungkook hummed dreamily, closing his eyes again in content and happiness. “My Howl.”

“What?”

“Nothing, you probably haven’t watched the film.”

O-okayyyy,” Jin dragged out the word, as if he was silently judging Jungkook. But he didn’t do it out of malcontent. He just had a teasing glint in his eyes. Another rustle of the sheets resounded in Jungkook’s ears as Jin fidgeted in his position. “I also brought your bag that you had left downstairs.”

Jungkook softly kissed at the under area of Jin’s jaw. “Hmmm, really?” He sudden had a panicked realisation that the vampire did so much and Jungkook hadn’t even thanked him yet. “Thank you,” he voiced before he could be deferred from remembering to do that. “When did you even do all that though? Cooking breakfast for me and all that?” Jungkook asked suspiciously.

“I got up earlier than you and got all of that done.” Jungkook frowned in disappointment and pouted. “Don’t give me that look,” Jin playfully chided. “I tried to wake you up when I was getting up and you just flat out refused. You are an anti-productive bug,” Jin teased.

Jungkook sighed dramatically. “You left me out here… all alone… in the company of an empty room. Do you know how heart-breaking that is? I could’ve been sobbing for my knight in arms here and you would be just sizzling some bacon.”

“I sizzled all that bacon for you, my pretty damsel in distress.”

“Making all that delicious bacon for me and thus bringing me out of my cursed comatose,” Jungkook corrected himself. “Sigh, Maleficent and the Evil Queen are probably no match to the bacon made by your hospitality.”

Jin grinned. “I am glad to hear that bacon is your version of true love’s kiss.”

The vampire shuffled away from Jungkook to reach for something that he had dropped on the ground next to his side of the bed. Jungkook scowled at the distribution of priorities here; his hand was made to fall on the ruffled bed, where he tapped his fingers impatiently to suddenly conjure up enough magic to bring Jin back to him.

Finally, Jin straightened up to give two things to Jungkook; his small rucksack that Jimin had gifted him last year, and his sketchbook.

“I’m sorry,” Jin said sheepishly. “I was trying to lift up the bag and your book fell out. But don’t worry, I didn’t look into it!” Jin rushed in his clarification, although it didn’t bring any effect to the doped up Jungkook who just blinked confusedly at the objects, as if he forgot they even existed.

“It doesn’t matter,” Jungkook rasped assuredly, rubbing his eyes as he took the sketchbook in his hands to inspect it. He groaned at the sight of the book’s spine and cover having wrinkles on it. He hadn’t been quick enough to save it from rain completely. He prayed that his works were still fine on the inside. Some of his assignments were in there, after all.

Suddenly, a bright idea popped into Jungkook’s mind to convince the vampire to stay in the bed longer with him. “Hey, didn’t I promise you I would show some of my sketches?”

Jin snapped his head up, his eyes wide with curiosity now. “Yes, you did,” Jin answered, looking slightly touched to be shown some of Jungkook’s personal work. “Do you want to show it to me now?”

Jungkook rolled his eyes, “No, I wanted to show it to the bacon first. Of course I want to show it to you!” And snuggle with you, but Jungkook left that wish unsaid. His head was feeling too light and he was slowly getting addicted to that feeling. He stupidly didn’t even think what was actually inside his sketchbook, and what he had been doing just an hour before he had entered Jin’s castle.

He was about to hand the book to the vampire, but when he turned to the side, he was surprised to see Jin was no longer in his line of vision. His sketchbook felt cold all of a sudden.

“Hi,” a voice breathed, close to his ear. The word went up like a tingle up Jungkook’s spine. “Where did you go?” the voice teased. The sound of those words this time felt like fingers very gently pulling  Jungkook’s jaw to the side. He turned to see Jin lying deep within the covers, his pink lips in a subtle pout and his eyes sultry under the slow flicker of the morning light. Only his head peaked out of the sheets and god fucking damn, he looked too cute to be a vampire.

For a while, the two men stared deep within each other, forgetting for a moment about the sketchbook in Jungkook’s hands.

Jin noticed the fascination for his lip and bit the bottom one. It snapped the human right out of his fuzzy, florescent daze and placed him into a state of alertness and embarrassment. It was Jungkook, this time, who was flustered. “You can show it to me here,” the vampire whispered, on the sheets with  soft sense of grace. He beckoned to Jungkook to now lie down next to him with a slight demanding flare in his eyes. Jungkook gulped at the compelling look.

“Oh, so now you want to have a lie-in?” Jungkook rolled his eyes teasingly. Jin just pouted in response.

He laid down next to him, feeling Jin’s body lie so boneless next to him. He stretched out an arm from under the covers to rest it around Jin’s shoulders, which led to the vampire scooting up a little to allow the movement. He quietly ignored his fluttering heart and opened the book to the first page.

“This was a self-portrait kind of a thing,” he explained nervously. “It was the first thing I did for my course when I attended it for the very first time.” Jin stared at it intently. With Jungkook’s head turned to the side to observe the man, the human could smell the vampire’s hair and felt dizzied by its sweet and sour smell. Jin raised up a hand to trace the lines on his first page.

“You have a very fascinating perspective on yourself,” he observed. “I like what you did with the shades of grey. Does this piece have a name?” Jin asked curiously.

“Fifty shades of grey,” Jungkook answered with a smirk.  Jin scrunched up his nose and gave him a knowing look.

“That doesn’t sound very original.”

Oh wow, so he hasn’t watch a classic like Mean Girls but he knows that trash of a story, Jungkook thought to himself. You are one of a kind, Kim Seokjin.

The warm-blooded of the two, huffed. “I put in all my creativity in making this, I think it’s alright if I sound lame in my title,” he haughtily said. Jin laughed at that. Jungkook turned the page.

The next work was an anime style landscape. The one after that was a landscape too but a more realistic impersonation. Rough pages meant for pencil to create friction on turned and turned. The vampire didn’t make a sound once, staring at each and every work with so much admiration in his face that it made Jungkook’s heart squeeze. Vampires weren’t supposed to be so cute.

All of Jungkook’s works had stories behind them. Some were complex that he had to insert a finger between the pages and close the book to explain more about his life to Jin  so that he wasn’t confused. One work was a rendition sketch of Winnie The Pooh, except the bear was wearing the outfit of Legolas (Jimin wore a Lord of The Rings Halloween costume to impress Yoongi and Hoseok and while Hoseok fawned over his look, Yoongi just called him a failed Winnie The Pooh). Another one was of a realistic sketch of a slice of pie (Jungkook drew this because he had felt extremely guilty after sneakily eating a  slice of the pie that had been made by Hoseok even though he was told not to do that). The one piece that made Seokjin startle was one of absolute debauchery.

“You paint with nude models?” He asked with bright, wide and innocent eyes. Jin looked slightly scandalised at the amount of detail given to the… phallus of the model but at the same, was struggling to look away.

“Oh, um, yeah,” Jungkook replied awkwardly. He blushed slightly when Jin complimented him for being such a thorough artist. “Well, I know this model quite well and he had pulled me aside to threaten me that if I didn’t focus on his dick enough in this assignment then he was going tear up my sketchbook and replace it with his notebook which is just filled with puns about dicks. So, I went with this perspective.”

“He is quite…”

“Quite what?”

“You know—quite…”

“Hung?”

“Excuse me?”

“That’s what you say when you see someone with a big dick. They are hung,” Jungkook casually explained. Jin looked at him with an embarrassed expression before turning his head away to focus on the artwork balanced between the two men’s laps.

“I see. Your model reminds me of someone I long ago bedded,” he shyly admitted. Jungkook grinned at the reticence.

“You had sex with someone with this big of a dick?”

“Unfortunately, no.” Jin still looked shy but his face betrayed a slight reminiscent smile. “I had slept with a man who was really… tiny.”

The human guffawed at the admission. “Really?”

“Yes,” Jin continued. “When I first I saw it… see, I was in a real, desperate mood that day. I had a longstanding argument that had been brewing between my mom and I for some years and it had blew up that morning. Naturally, I seeked for sexual intimacy for comfort.” If vampires could blush, Jin would’ve become red by now and Jungkook’s heart would’ve cooed. “a warlock had been courting me for some while. So, once I gained courage to ask him to take a step forward with me, he agreed enthusiastically.

“However, when he unbuttoned, I was… really disappointed. He was very boastful about his conquests so I had expected something far more—grandeur—if I must say.”

“So he was large headcount from the mouth but a large discount from the south?”

Jin scrunched up his nose again in distaste. “What a weird expression! He did have a cock… it was miniscule but I thought—to make it more pleasurable for the both of us—of asking him on being the receiving end. When I did ask, he refused, saying something along the lines that he was very confident in his, and I quote, ‘big cock and stamina’. I thought then of keeping it strictly to other forms of pleasure but he wasn’t comfortable with that either.”

“He didn’t reach your prostate, did he?”

Jin chuckled, “He didn’t reach anything, to be fair. I moaned like a whore to keep him satisfied and get it done with quickly. After that incident, I never met him again. I heard one of his conquests eventually got frustrated with him and yelled at him that he was tiny as a grass blade. That hurt his ego so he did some kind of a spell which made him humungous as a monster. Like, really big from what I remember hearing, that even the most adventurous ones refused to be on the receiving end of that. It would’ve led to great deal of pain. I think he has chosen to go celibate for now until he learns of a spell that keeps him medium sized.”

Jungkook whistled in fascination. “So, he refused to bottom because of an ego? That sucks. I remember this story Jimin told me he heard. There was a guy in our town who was a proud beholder of a huge dick and when he married the love of his life, she had been frightened by the sight of it. So they sat down at the dining table one day to discuss how they could make it pleasurable for both of them and so they decided to let the wife peg her husband. Everyone was upset about the fact that they didn’t have soundproof walls because they could hear the amount of fun they had.”

Jin laughed at that. Jungkook grinned happily, knowing that he provoked that kind of unbridled laughter. And all because of his crude drawing. He should thank the model the next time he meets him for forcing him to draw him that way.

“That sounds like a happy relationship,” Jin said, his full lips still stretched in a smile that made tiny dimples appear above the corners of his top lip. Seokjin tilted his head sideways in thought. His eyes all of sudden, looked unfocused. “It’s nice to see how many stories become you when you have people around you.”

Jungkook tensed up. One thing he had gathered from this night was that Jin was very…lonely. Any topic about the idea of having company or people to talk to could send him into a state of disillusionment. And Jungkook would damn himself if he madeJin forget all the bliss they went through last night and send him down the disillusionment memory lane.

So Jungkook turned the page of his sketchbook; completely forgetting what dwelled on the next sheet.

He didn’t even look at the book, eager to change the topic of the conversation to something more light-hearted. He nudged Jin’s lap with the book to divert his unfocused eyes to something more figure and ground. When Seokjin did, his eyes almost popped out in shock and began to cackle which transitioned to full body laughter. Jungkook was confused at the sudden change of mood and looked down, his eyebrows reaching his hairline when he realised what was on the page.

It was a misshapen sketch of Seokjin.

Jungkook called his misshapen because before this night, he wasn’t very sure of the vampire’s features in details. However, one could still make out the very outline of the vampire through the rough 4B pencil sketch and know that it is none than other but Kim Seokjin. And Kim Seokjin was right next to him laughing at the picture.

Jungkook wished he stayed out in the rain and made friends with pneumonia. He immediately shut the book with a loud leather slapping sound and flung it across the glass table. His frantic attempt to hide his stupidity and his infatuation made the vampire just laugh out harder.

It was time for Jungkook to engage in a quick demise.

“Was I not supposed to see that?” Jin giggled, elbowing the blushing human. Jungkook bit his bottom lip furiously.

“No,” he grumbled. He didn’t ever think he would be in this position of exposing his hidden sketches of his muse to his muse himself. But now that he did (he will never forgive his utter foolishness in this), he still hadn’t expected the man next to him to be laughing and shaking with humor so much. “What’s so funny?” He asked angrily (although his heart was melting with the soft, squeaky sounds of laughter which he never had heard before).

“Because in this short time, I knew you were going to react like this,” Jin said, smugly.

“Har de har har,” Jungkook mocked, making a face. Jin smiled with content.

“Do you draw me often?”

“Huh?” The human asked dumbly. He didn’t think that Jin would be asking this question either but, the vampire was just surprising him in so many different ways. It would be a lie to say he wasn’t getting more and more whipped for him.

Jin looked away, bashfully. “Do you draw me often? Or was that the only time?”

Jungkook fiddled with the sheets' hem around his waist. He clenched his jaw next as he considered how was he supposed to answer that. A centuries old vampire would probably not appreciate being lied to, so he answered honestly. “Yes. I’m sorry if that sounds creepy.” He kept his eyes on the splayed out, traitorous sketchbook. He was holding his breath over what was going to be asked of him next. Jungkook looked away once more, but this time, in disappointment with himself. “ I’m not really proud of my works on you. I never got to sketch you in all likelihood.”

“That’s understandable.” Jin nodded, a small contemplative pout on his lips as he stared at the book too. His tone sounded a bit different, as if he didn’t find Jungkook’s sketches cute anymore but rather… telling about something else. He sounded worried and distant as a landscape. “You probably were just sketching me out of memory. Not to mention, you have never seen me this closely before.”

“Yeah but,” Jungkook began, thinking of how to put his next words across. “I have a great memory and I have never gotten a model drawing wrong from memory. You are my first.”

“Oh,” Jin  said, raising an eyebrow. “And what, pray tell, is the problem with me as a muse?”

“There’s nothing wrong with you,” Jungkook hissed harshly, throwing Jin off guard. “I never could sketch you properly because no matter how much I snuck some glances of you in my mind, you were always fleeting. I never could think of you as a real person because you look so… untouched. You were someone who I never could conceive fully well in my mind or in my book. Anything I drew of you was an uncouth mimic of whatever you possibly could be.”

JIn’s eyes were wide, but Jungkook continued anyways, unregistering what he was spouting in passion. “You made me realise how superficially I draw. I look at a little ladybug and I just draw it. I don’t need to know anything else about it. I don’t need to observe it that much. I look at the meadow between the town and your castle and it’s all so easy to sketch out. It’s you. You who I never knew and yet I knew you weren’t anything I could outline so easy. I draw a pair of almond-shaped eyes and think I can call it a day. But now I look at you and know that had been such a… stupid moment of hope.”

Jungkook took in a breath. “because now I look at you and know you aren’t just some pair of eyes I can move my pencil to outline. I have to look deeper and draw every single line with your pupils to make it you. I can’t keep it light. I can’t keep it shallow. You made me question everything I have been doing all these years because you are so fucking mysterious and cold and quiet. You’re hard to read. If I were to learn painting from Claude Monet himself, I still won’t be able to capture the sadness and beauty you hold. I am so fucking done for, you know that? And it’s all because of you. Someone who I always wanted to get to know and now I do because of some freakish rain. I am such a fucking fraud of an artist.”

Jungkook’s moment of panic speaking stopped finally. He couldn’t believe he said all that to the man he had been admiring from afar. Now that he did, he couldn’t even sneak a glance at the man, afraid of seeing the surprised expression. He couldn’t do it. Why can’t he just turn back time to go back to the conversation he had with the vampire on boobs being great tellers of weather forecast?

The human was shivering again, not because of the cold this time, but because of the fact that he had left all the cold feelings he had about his art from his stomach. All the self-doubt, the hair-pulling frustrations and the blocks of dullness and unoriginality—they were all out. Completely unprovoked. But they had been piling excruciatingly upon one another.

Jungkook dug his elbows onto his thighs and buried his face in his hands. He was feeling the hurt poking at the back of his eyes. He didn’t want to look up. He will never look up. Yoongi was right; he should’ve never bottled up everything in him because now he had revealed it all to the one man he didn’t ever want it to be revealed to. He didn’t want Seokjin to see the scribble he had become in the past year.

“I’m so,” Jin started. “sorry. I’m sorry if I made it difficult for you to live with yourself as an artist.”

Jungkook swung his head up with wide eyes. What the fuck was Jin taking from his outburst? He began to rush though possibilities in his mind as he continued to gape at the vampire with surprise.

Jin swallowed hard. “I am so… fucking sorry that I can’t be normal. Or something simple even.” Jin’s hands began to furiously fidget with one another. “I am fucking sorry that I am so hard to handle. I am sorry that I can’t be a happy person all the time. I am so fucking sorry.”

Jungkook blinked quickly, scared at how the situation escalated out of control all of a sudden and their happy glow was faded away to let the darkness in again. “No, Jin I-“ he tried to interject and reject everything Jin was… blaming himself for.

But Jin was far too gone in shame. His eyes looked shattered and his lips trembled. “You’re such an… amazing person, Kookie. One look at you and I just knew that you were the type to get everything right. Even your judgement of me is right. I am sad. It feels like an eternity since I truly smiled. But that’s the thing, Kookie,” Jin looked at him with sorrowful and pained eyes. “I have not much to be happy about. I don’t feel cherished, nor do I feel content with anything. But last night—”

“—last night I felt cherished. I felt content an satisfied for once that I let instincts get taken over by you and let myself trust you so easily. Because let me tell you this—” Seokjin leaned forward to face Jungkook completely despite his crumbling image. “—I am happy I did that. I am happy that I met someone who made me feel heard, made me feel like I was listened to. Someone who made me lose control but at the same time treated me with so much care that I don’t feel embarrassed by even a thing I did last night. All the filth I said to you in a moment of pleasure… nothing. I don’t feel ashamed nor regretful of anything. I don’t know how you did that. I am sorry that I don’t seem to be giving that back.”

Jungkook’s head hurled. What the hell was happening right now? He didn’t mean to give such an impression but oh dear god, the topic seemed to be really sensitive for Jin. Jungkook cursed himself for not saying his thoughts in a more composed manner. “What are you talking about, Jin? I didn’t imply that. You gave me yourself yesterday, as did I to you. And I don’t regret it either—”

Jin burst in at that moment. “You really think I am giving all of myself to you right now?” he demanded with so much menace… for himself that Jungkook winced. “We just met, for god’s sakes. And it’s downright… off to be so attracted to you at the first glance but you know what, it felt right. It felt so right. There is no doubt in my heart about that and I don’t regret it  but Kookie, just sit there and think back.” Jin spread his arms as if presenting himself. “What the fuck am I?”

Jungkook shuffled forward urgently with desperate hands that wanted to make everything right again. He rested his hands on Jin’s waist and brought himself close to the vampire. He need this to be made right. “You are a beautiful person inside and out,” Jungkook assured desperately with the tell-tale signs of tears creeping into the corner of his eyes, holding the vampire’s waist as if he was scared of letting go.

And shockingly enough, Jungkook was scared to let go.

Jin became serious all of sudden, almost peering down at Jungkook as he began to shuffle away to stand up next to the bed. “Kookie... what-what are your real intentions with me?”

Jungkook gaped even more. He thought he had made it obvious what he wanted… taking a look at Jin, he realised that the vampire knew what he wanted, but was just waiting for him to vocalise it. Jungkook willed his dry mouth to open. “I-I wanted to ask you out on a date.” For once, it was Jungkook being the shy one. It was hard not to be when the guy you had such a magical night with after pining for him for a while only to see him suddenly put up a cold exterior to you.

Jin looked like he wanted to scream. Not at Jungkook, but at himself. His eyes moved sharply all over Jungkook’s face, as if he was clinically examining him now. He swallowed, his Adam’s apple moving up and down hard. “And then what?”

The human stared confusedly. He was in a state of undress and his eyes were beginning to hurt with all the emotions he was feeling. God, he probably looked like a helpless sheep right now. But Jungkook threw away his self-consciousness to try and speak confidently. “I thought… well, I thought that we could figure it from there onwards?” Okay, the confidence angle failed because Jungkook’s statement sounded like a pathetic question.

Jungkook wanted to curse at himself.

Jin spat out a bitter laugh. “Figure it out? Seriously, Jungkook? Figure it out?” Seokjin scoffed, not condescendingly, but sadly. “Do you know who you fucked last night? You fucked a vampire, not some other human who you could consider as yours and they could think of you as theirs.” Jin looked up sharply at him with angry eyebrows and shattered glass-like eyes. “I can never be fully yours. Can’t you see that? I cannot do a casual fling with you because after last night, you have magically begun to mean a lot to me. I have never been this vulnerable with anyone before, even with my first love. If we were to continue on and… date, as you say, I would be bound to fall in love with you.” Jin looked like he was on the verge of hyperventilation. “This is so fucking scary for me, don’t you understand?”

It was Jungkook’s turn to become riled up. He frowned at the vampire. “Why? Is it bad to be with me? Have I done something to make you think I’m not worth having a chance with?”’

Jin began laughing, and it was so bitter that it could be tasted even on Jungkook’s tongue. “You’re so naïve, which means you will never understand why I can’t do this.”

“Oh, so it is about the age?” Jungkook asked harshly, feeling a strong tick in his jaw from how hard he was gritting his teeth and clenching his jaw.

“Partly it is,” Jin whispered, lowering his volume to a cold breeze. “It is the foremost reason why I can’t continue this with you. Jungkook, think about it. If I date you, and I fall in love with you, it would mean me being by your side for the rest of your life, till your death. You may think your life has been full of me, but my life can never be full of you.” Jin took a step backwards, and then another. “I… I can’t take that,” he admitted, with pain on his face, his soft cheeks seemed to have hardened with the brutal reality in just a second. “I can’t go through that… heartbreak again. I really cannot. It would be too much for me to take in, and this time, I don’t think I will be—human enough at the end of it.”

Jin took in a deep breath, as if he needed all the wind in him to say the next few words.

“You’ll have to forget me, and forget the fact that we could’ve been something else.”

Thousand refusing thoughts swarmed within Jungkook’s mind. He was so shell shocked by those words that the previous was happy moments they had seemed to have vanished, making Jungkook think he just imagined them. As if what they did had no potential nor tangibility. The scribble returned, and it was quarrelling itself deeper with harsh strokes within Jungkook.

Forget Seokjin?  That… had to be impossible? Right? Normally, it could’ve been a reluctant future he was stuck with it, but after talking to the vampire for hours last night, sleeping with him, it seemed downright impossible. Something happened last night that wasn’t allowing Jungkook to just let go that easily. It can’t happen. If it did, it would undo Jungkook completely.

He could feel it deep within him. He was quiet, shy and self-sufficient as a person. But last night, ironically enough, he received warmth from a cold source; a warmth that had ignited something deep within his belly and heart.

He never believed in love at first sight. But with Jin, he had been willing to forgo all his logic and believe in it.

He can’t just let go of that. Logic had scorned him now, angry at him for letting it go for another person. Now, if logic wasn’t there for him to help him rationalise and move on, and neither was that warmth, what will become of Jungkook as a person?

With every word that had been uttered from Jin, Jungkook breath got shorter and shorter. When he forced his lips to open to plead, his voice was dry and raspy. “Jin, you can’t just ask me to—”

“I am asking you to have mercy on me,” Jin plea cut in. He looked like he was a second away from actually falling on his knees and begging. “I am asking you to spare me, and yourself, from love.”

“But Jin—” Jungkook tried to plead again, but it was too late because with one marble-like flash and Jin was already standing in front of the door, looking solemn and resigned with the dark wood background.

“I’ll give you some time to think about it. Collect your thoughts and desires, and then understand where I’m trying to come from… where we could be heading if this is all done without a moment of thought given to consequences. I have had years to think about a moment like this. And I know my answer.”

With that, Jin was out of the room, leaving Jungkook all alone in a heap of messed thoughts; folded in broken heartstrings that now press against his skin with an agonising burn.

He came into this house thinking he would just get to know his crush. In the middle of the night, he felt his heart come undone for him. Early in the morning, he found out that they have a wonderful chance of falling love, but the vampire was too hurt by his own past experiences to pursue him.

The ghost of Jin’s skin under his fingers felt brittle and faded now. The little giggles and the shy glance, all of it were suddenly incapable of being remembered by the heavily breathing human whose eyes glistened with tears of frustration and self-hate.

Why did he have to find the best thing ever in his life and just ruin it?

Why couldn’t he just stay shut up even for a second?

He hadn’t expected his much emotional entanglement with a person he talked to for the very first time. And yet, Jungkook couldn’t help the heavy sobs rolling out of him. He ran his hand through his hair, curling his fingers into the strands in afterthought on how Jin told him last night that he had liked his long hair a lot. The sobs wretched out of him with no seconds spared for him to breathe.

Jungkook cried for the first time in years.

Year 1023

Translated from Old English which was written by an author that probably plagiarised from a person of colour in the first place but we will forget that for now and just not mention the idiotic author’s name.

An astonishing discovery has been made about the species of Vampires. It seems they are not as a cold-hearted as we thought of them as. A few vampires in every generation are blessed with the gift and curse of having a soulmate; a being that resonates with them and almost makes them forget about their dependence on blood. The Vampire finds the soulmate at the first glance into the eyes and at the first word received. However, the curse sets in somewhere in the middle period of their relationship, where the soulmate (if unfortunately, placed to be a human) has to choose to being an immortal with the  Vampire and being by their side, or, continue on with their lives as mortals till their death. If the latter is chosen, and the human dies, the vampire would become estranged from all world. It is unpredictable of what they could become, but the spectrum remains between living as a ghost or living as a monster.

Very few humans have picked the choice of becoming immortal.

That is why the vampires are considered as a cursed breed. But the few vampires that are unfortunate enough to be matched with humans who don’t have them as the first choice, are more cursed than anyone else.

Notes:

If anyone of you are a little weirded by how suddenly Jin took such a drastic decision to cut off Jungkook despite the fact that he said the night before about communication and all that, well, I'll say that it's because he got scared. He knew that Jungkook liked him but the day after their first meeting, he saw that Jungkook's interest and like was almost like adoration because he practically admitted that he had tried to sketch Jin many times. This was when he knew that Jungkook was in too deep with him and THAT made Jin realise he also felt something for him as well. That fear that this thing could lead to love which in turn could lead to heartbreak for him scared him and made him rant that way. There will be a second chapter that will explain a concept of soulmates too whoops.

Yeah, this fic sucks. I am really out of practice. I have been trying to write this since 2018 and to be honest, I was far more confident in my writing back then. I highly doubt anyone would like this fic but I am posting in desire to still feel some form catharsis with my writing. I pray that once I press the post button, I let go of my need for validation and accept this catharsis so that I can post something better in the future.
