Hastily, Sawamura Eijun entered his apartment, threw his sports bag carelessly into the corner of the hallway and walked into the living room where he turned the TV on. Luckily, he made it in time: The Interview with Miyuki Kazuya, which was broadcasted on a popular sports channel, hadn't begun yet. He had run from the bus stop just to make it in time because he doesn't want to miss something.
Sawamura won't admit it, but he always saw every interview or show, where Miyuki was in (if he had time, otherwise he would record it) and collected a stack of sports magazines in which the catcher was pictured. He owned, secretly in the deep of his cabinet so that no one (especially Miyuki) can't find it, a magazine in which Miyuki was chosen as one of the hottest players of the year. Something Sawamura could only agree with... just the thought of his typical smile and the attracting views runs chills through his body. He falls for the stupid, idiotic, nasty, good looking, wonderful catcher... what got pretty much on his nerves some times.
He could see his boyfriend in real any time, but unfortunately, there were times when they could hardly see each other for several days or even weeks due to away games or tournaments. The longer the time they spent away from each other, the worse Sawamura was: He began to look at his phone every three minutes, hoping the catcher had answered his messages, he reads old messages or watched interviews that he could almost memorize and he was so excited to see him again, that he can't sleep for days.
If Miyuki ever knows about this, he would tease him for eternity.
Sawamura turned his attention to the TV, where the interview finally began. Miyuki sat on a comfortable looking white coach. He wore a dark blue T-Shirt that emphasized his muscles (Eijun can't help but swallowed at that sight) and his team's cap. The catcher had leaned back relaxed with his typical smirk on his lips, and Eijun gets a warm feeling in his chest just to look at him. And with him every girl who watched this interview.
Why was he so damn good looking?
„Okay, we welcome our guest for today: Miyuki Kazuya from the Yomiuri Giants!“ The audience in the background erupted in loud cheers.
The interview began with the usual questions: Why did he choose the team, what other players did he respect, who was his role model, which team would he like to compete against, what does he thought about the next tournament...
At some point, the questions became more personal, but as always, Miyuki didn't give an accurate answer so that everyone could interpret a lot into it. He had been doing this since he started to play as a professional player: He was able to doesn't tell anything about his private life and still answered every question in a way that no one asked any further. Many articles describe the catcher as mysterious because he doesn't tell much about himself but that cheered many fans to put on some theories.
„I'm sure you don't have it easy with all the fans – especially the female ones – and this time you were chosen as one of the hottest player of the year. How do you deal with this attention?“, the interviewer asked. Miyuki started to grin.
„Of course I'm flattered by this attention, but I'm not interested in being admired by so many people. Sometimes it can be exhausting to have so many fans and some of them exaggerate with their admiration. But at this point I have to disappoint all my fangirls: I'm gay so I'm not interested in women and I also have a boyfriend“, he said calmly and for a moment everyone became quiet, don't know what to say or how to react.
Eijun, on the other hand, opened his mouth and stared at the screen in complete shock, his brain taking a moment to process what he had just heard. That bastard! What was he thinking?! He had just admitted being gay and also told about their relationship!
„It's brave that you tell us this so openly. As an athlete, it's never easy to be honest about something like this. I'm sure no one here expected that answer...“, said the interviewer who had finally found his voice again.
„He will be not happy that I have said it.“
„So, after all these years you dodged any questions about a relationship, why did you answering it now?“
Miyuki had a devilish smirk on his face and he looked straight at the camera as if he knew Eijun was watching and the pitcher had no doubt that the following words were directed at him.
„As a punishment, he is way too proud about all his fangirls“, he said, leaning back casually and letting the words sink.
„So he's also known? A player like you? Someone from the same team? Or an actor, a singer? Does your team know about your sexuality?“ The interviewer asked curiously and leaned forward as if he was eager to know how he would respond.
„Yes my team knows about it and has accepted it and no, it isn't someone of my team. But I'm not going to say more, or he'll definitely kill me later.“
The interview continued, but it wasn't interesting anymore.
Immediately Eijun took his phone, ignored the messages he had and instead opened various sports sites and twitter.
The internet was already spinning and the wildest speculations came on who his mysterious partner could be.
It can only be Furuya! The two were already such a great battery back in Seido and Furuya went to the same college just to be able to continue playing with him.
Oh God, I can't believe he really said it! It's like a dream come true.
Miyuki had often said in interviews that baseball comes first, so I never expected him to be in a relationship – and that's with a man. It has to be another baseball player.
What was the name of the other Seido pitcher? Sawamura?
Maybe it's Furuya? I can't think of anyone else who would be close enough to him.
Why does everyone think it's a pitcher? I think it's a catcher.
It doesn't have to be a baseball player. In his college, there was a volleyball player with whom he got along well and he also watched some of his games.
I don't believe it's an athlete.
I still think Miyuki just said that to distract from who it really is. I think his boyfriend is someone normal who isn't known at all.
It's finally happening! It can only be Furuya! I've shipped them for years...
Eijun scrolled on, but the more he read, the more depressed he became. More than half assumed that Furuya had to be his boyfriend, hardly anyone could remember him and many thought it was someone completely different.
Normally Eijun should be happy about this, it means that no one would know that they were a couple. They lived together but had never shown their relationship or the fact that they were still in contact openly. Neither his team nor Miyuki's team knew anything about it.
Still, it bothered him.
Why does everyone think Furuya would fit so well with Miyuki just because they were once a battery? It just annoyed him and Eijun felt jealousy coming up.
Furuya was on another team now, but the fact that he had even gone to the same college as Miyuki had made the pitcher damn jealous. Even during their time in Seido, the catcher had trained much more with Furuya – after all, he was the ace – and Eijun had accepted it, as he couldn't change anything about it. Shortly before Miyuki's graduation, the two had become a couple and Eijun couldn't have been happier.
Eijun had also wanted to go to the same college as Miyuki, but when he heard that Furuya would also be there and he didn't want to be in his shadow forever, he decided to change his mind.
Although it always seemed as if Eijun was so full of self confidence, everything was different with Miyuki: Especially now, when they could hardly see each other and he spent much more time with his teammates, he began to doubt more and more. What if he falls in love with someone else?
He would like to tell everyone in the whole world that Miyuki Kazuya only belongs to him.
