Chapter 1: The start

Chapter Text

Music played lightly from the cheap speaker on the bar.

~When you get home babe, gonna light your fire~

~All day I’ve been thinkin’ about you, babe~

~you’re my one desire~

They swayed together, the blue beast and the burn victim. She mumbled the words, words that everybody could hear, but it was clear she was only singing to him.

“I fucking love this song” she laughed lightly. The bar lighting and the warmth created an irresistible aura of comfort. Shigaraki couldn’t deny the warm atmosphere, but he was the exception. His seat at the bar was cold and blue, just like she was. Cold and blue.

She was warm with Dabi. A normal, warm, peach person, save for the horns and tail. A melting beaming smile always radiated from her around that annoying puppet.

The peach pulled Dabi even closer somehow

~gonna wrap my arms around you and hold you close to me~

She brushed a finger over his scarred lip.

~oh babe I wanna taste your lips. I want to fill your fantasy~

Shigaraki turned away, sickened. Those two danced together every Friday at midnight. What a waste. The peach had even bought a speaker for their routine. A speaker that sat a foot away, in arms reach, spitting obnoxious music. It would only take a second. He considered it every infuriating Friday that he had to watch them act lovey-dovey. He even did it once when she wasn’t at the base. The minor (unwelcome) guilt led him to getting a new one. And maybe reprimanding from his glorified babysitter. Shigaraki spent some time reflecting on how much he hated their little displays of affection. He tuned back into reality with the chorus.

~I wanna kiss you all over, and over again~

He dared a glance to the two dancing idiots. The peach held Dabi's face and angled it and leaned in. To the beat of the chorus, she kissed his scars.

~I wanna kiss you all over, till the night closes in~

First, his eyes. Left, right. Then his cheeks in the same order. Then they just stared into each other’s eyes. He couldn’t see her eyes but he knew what Dabi’s eyes held. So much trust in one stare, so intimate and baring emotions to the cold that normally came from her. But of course she was a peach for him. Shigaraki was sure her eyes were the same. It annoyed him immensely.
