Take You To Dance On The Moon

Summary:

« After Jungkook’s older brother, Jungho, gets his heart broken, Jungkook decides to get revenge on every single boy his brother has dated. Yoongi, Jungho’s best friend, finds out about Jungkook’s vindictive plan. »

Chapter 1: BROKEN RECORD.

Notes:

✧ Fully aware that Jungkook’s older brother isn’t called Jungho. I gave him an alias to protect his privacy and to protect him from the mess that’ll be this fic. I also changed Jimin’s brother name for the same reasons, btw!
✧ In this fic, Jungkook is a freshman in college, meanwhile Yoongi and Jungho (Jungkook’s brother) are seniors in college.
✧ Despite the way it’s set up, Yoonkook will always be endgame, and no cheating (on JK & YG’s part) will ensue. Jungkook needs to learn a lesson on life, one that I need to learn and understand as well, before the #RealLove begins. We all need a little #FakeLove to teach us we can be better. (☞゚ヮ゚)☞

Chapter Text

There was an influx of customers this morning, which is always a good thing to an extent. It kept Yoongi busy, moving from one table to another, writing down the drinks, then running back behind the counter to start on them. It also kept Yoongi from overthinking, overthinking certain events that happened earlier today, such as: finding his best friend’s little brother making out with a familiar face.

It wasn’t that Yoongi was snooping, he prides himself on just using enough energy to care about others, but never to care too much. Sure it was a silly way of thinking, but it kept him in a safe zone with people. Sure, he loves his friends, sometimes idiots, but loved them nonetheless. But his involvement with people who aren’t in his, as his best friend once put it, ‘inner circle,’ was limited.

But then again, this were always different when it came to Jeon Jungkook.

Jeon Jungkook was Yoongi’s best friend, Jungho’s, little brother who used to be awkward smiles and shy eyes. Yoongi remembers a time where he used to brush him off as another ‘stupid brat’ who always had to hang around his older brothers. Such as Jimin, Jihun’s younger brother. Yet, somewhere along the years, Jungkook started outgrowing his ‘bratty kid’ phase.

Yoongi started noticing Jungkook growing into someone he never thought possible. He had muscles, sharp jawline, sexy features that the nerdy bambi Jungkook would only dream of. It was too bad that the idiot only wore giant hoodies with his circle framed glasses. It was rare occasions that he’d find the boy, or man, wearing an actual piece of clothing that wasn’t considered a hoodie.

So yes, at the end of this vent about Jeon Jungkook, yes. Yoongi had a soft spot of Jungkook, despite his lack of being in Yoongi’s ‘inner circle.’ He doesn’t deny it, at least not anymore. He cares about him. In both a hyung and dongsaeng way, as much as a ‘I-want-to-hold-your-hand’ way.

Why deny it? Yoongi has been crushing on Jungkook since his bambi-like years.

Sighing at his own pathetic confession, Yoongi finished wiping down the table, inner turmoil forgotten once he realized where he was. Work, busting tables for an unfair amount of money, it was 1 am, he should definitely be in bed by now, but he was closing tonight.

“Here are the keys,” his coworker put the keys on the table, Yoongi nodding politely. “Again, I’m sorry for leaving all of this to you. I know I’ll get in trouble with the big boss tomorrow but I have to go.”

Yoongi picked up the keys, slipping them into his pocket. He always admired his coworker for being honest, even when they didn’t have to. “It’s really no worries, noona, I’ll explain everything to them tomorrow.”

“Thank you, Yoongi.” She touched his arm before leaving, the rain becoming louder as she opened the door, then going back to a soft hum as it closed.

“No problem,” Yoongi said to himself, lifting up the chairs on top of the tables, one by one. Once that was finished, he looked around, suddenly realizing he had no idea how to close.

Did he have to mop too? Fuck it, he’ll do it.

Three Sum-41 songs after, Yoongi finally put away the mop, wiping away his sweat. He wondered what time it was, leaving the storage room, Yoongi paused as he saw someone outside the cafe.

He’d call the police if he didn’t recognize the white hoodie with the words, ‘RESIST AND LOVE,’ printed in purple letters on the front. Yoongi sighed, knowing Jungkook would come after hours. Licking his dry lips, Yoongi walked over to the doors.

“Sir, we’re closed.”

Jungkook lifted his head, circle framed glasses in place, dorky smile appearing on cue. “I just want a medium sized iced macchiato, sir, can’t you hook me up?”

“Only if you never ask me that again, in any sort of context,” Yoongi opened the door wider, letting Jungkook inside.

Turns out his coworker wouldn’t be the only one getting in trouble. If his boss checked the cameras and saw Yoongi sneaking someone in after hours, he’d be possibly fired but then again, Yoongi’s been meaning to quit so maybe he’d do him the honors.

“I’m sorry for bothering you,” Jungkook slid off his hood, droplets of rain on his hoodie. Yoongi wondered how he managed to have the droplets stay on him without wetting his clothes, maybe Jungkook wasn’t a human. “I really wanted to talk to you about what you saw.”

Yoongi hummed, noticing that there were still dishes to be washed. “I’ll let you talk if you help me dry dishes.”

Jungkook groaned, Yoongi rolling his eyes as he walked them to the kitchen. Jungkook rolled up his sleeves and Yoongi almost busted out a good nosebleed as soon as he saw his veiny arms. Look away, Yoongi.

“I’ll wash, you dry, hyung.” Jungkook grabbed the gloves, pulling over a chair as well. “You must be tired.”

“Are you trying to smooth talk me, Bambi? Because it’s working,” Yoongi sat down, grabbing the clean towel from the counter. “Okay, so the thing I saw? You making out with your brother’s ex boyfriend, what the fuck?”

Jungkook turned on the faucet, letting out a sigh, visibly preparing himself for whatever he was going to say. Yoongi wondered if Jungkook would tell him the truth or just a half-ass version of the truth.

“I want revenge.”

Yoongi almost dropped the cup that Jungkook handed him. “Sorry?”

Jungkook nodded slowly, picking up a plate, slowly washing off the leftover cake. “My brother is in a really bad state of mind, Yoongi. Seeing him like this and not being able to do nothing really makes my blood boil. His ex is a piece of shit, he broke Jungho’s heart and I—“

“—want revenge? Jungkook, have you told Jungho about this? About you dating his ex?”

“I’m not dating him,” Jungkook shook his head. “The thought of dating such a vile person makes my stomach churn, Yoongi, no. I want—I want revenge, to make this asshole feel the same thing Jungho felt.”

Yoongi looked at Jungkook, wondering if this was all a joke. Judging by the look in Jungkook’s eyes, this idiot was serious. Serious about hurting Jungho’s ex? “You can’t fight fire with fire, you do know this, right? What Jungho’s ex did is shitty, no one deserves that, but you can’t just use yourself as a pawn to hurt others. You’ll end up feeling really shitty at the end and you’ll gain nothing. It makes no fucking sense.”

Jungkook handed Yoongi the last dish. “I’m not asking for anyone’s advice or permission, hyung. I’ve already made up my mind.”

“Bambi, you’re not actually serious about this, are you? You’re going to get hurt, plus, what if you actually fall for the guy? I hear he’s quite the charmer.”

“Don’t make me laugh, Yoongi. I’ve been seeing him for a week, all his lines are from the internet, and he barely knows how to kiss.”

Yoongi sighed, wanting nothing more than to talk him out of this, but he knew better. He’s heard from Jungho just how competitive, stubborn, and idiotic this guy was. Plus, he can’t really blame him. Yoongi is just as angry with the situation as Jungkook is. When he heard that the guy had not only cheated on Jungho, but publicly broken up with him, Yoongi wanted nothing more than to punch the asshole’s face in. But this felt just as wrong. Wrong and stupid.

“So that’s your standards, huh? Good, original pickup lines and goos kissing skills?” Yoongi shouldn’t let this go, he’ll keep a close eye on this idiot and make sure he doesn’t get his own heart broken.

— ✧ —

“He didn’t say anything,” Jungkook looked up at Taehyung, eyebrows knitting together, finding it odd himself. He expects Yoongi to explode, demand Jungkook to stop his plan, and grow up. Or even threatened to tell Jungho if Jungkook continued.

“Of course he didn’t,” Jimin said, coming into Jungkook’s room with a basket. “You’re Jungkook, Yoongi has always had a soft spot for you.”

“Exactly, you could burn his house down, and he’d still call you, what is that name he always calls you?”

Jungkook rolled his eyes, the nickname used to bother him a lot. When Jungkook was little, he wanted nothing to do with feminine things, even a nickname like ‘Bambi,’ made him really angry. He remembers snapping at Yoongi one time, Yoongi had stopped calling him that for a while. Actually, now that Jungkook thought about it, Yoongi stopped talking to him all together after that.

“Ah!” Jimin snapped his fingers. “‘Bambi,’ he calls you ‘Bambi.’ I’m actually jealous, I love that nickname.”

“Suits him perfectly,” Taehyung snorted, climbing down his bunk bed and bellyflopping onto Jungkook’s bed. “Doe eyes, prince-like, and an idiot.”

“Have you ever seen Bambi?”

“Nope, he’s a reindeer, right?”

Jungkook threw Taehyung a sock, Jimin whining not to ruin his stack of laundry. Jungkook dodged the sock being thrown back and stuck his tongue out at Taehyung.

“So are you really going through with your vindictive plan?” Jimin asked, picking up the sock Taehyung threw. “You have a witness, technically, didn’t you say you’d stop at the first person to find out?”

“Yoongi doesn’t count,” Jungkook grabbed his folded shirts, walking over to his closet. “Yoongi found out and didn’t mind much, so he doesn’t count.”

Taehyung sighed, rolling onto his back. “You are conscious of how ridiculously stupid this is, right? To date, have sex, and then break their hearts is purely vile.”

“I wouldn’t say ‘vile,’” Jimin sighed. “Just, I don’t know, wrong? I think you’re going at it the wrong way and maybe Yoongi was wrong not to tell you to stop. I’m your best friend and that by law requires me to support your stupid decisions, but this one is just—“

“—too stupid, even for you,” Taehyung finished. “We understand that you’re trying to get back at the asshole for breaking your brother’s heart but this just feels wrong.”

Jungkook felt his phone vibrate, taking it out of his pocket, it was his brother’s ex. The second time he’s called today. “I have to go,” Jungkook pocketed his phone. “My brother isn’t feeling too good.”

Jimin hummed. “Be safe, Kookie.”

— ✧ —

Jungkook wiped his mouth, the guy panting above him. “Fuck, where’d you learn to do that with your mouth, pretty boy?”

“Doesn’t matter as long as you felt good,” Jungkook slid his hands up and down the guy’s legs. “Did I make you feel good?”

“Better than anyone else, pretty baby,” the guy ran his fingers through Jungkook’s hair. “Did you clear up whatever bullshit that Min guy was stirring up?”

“Who?” Jungkook got up, wiping his mouth again, wanting nothing more than to rinse his mouth. “Oh, yeah, he was just being nosy, don’t worry. Took care of him.”

The guy pulled Jungkook close, frown on his face. “Took care of him in what sense?”

“Not in a sexual way,” Jungkook shoved him away, “have a little more trust in me, will you? I’m a good boy.”

“Yeah? Well I also know you’re a bad one,” he squeezed Jungkook’s ass, making Jungkook wince. “You’re so sexy, you know that right?”

“Of course I do,” Jungkook quipped.

“I have to go,” the guy pressed a kiss to Jungkook’s temple, something new in their ‘relationship.’ Usually, he rarely even said goodbye, now he said goodbye followed by a kiss.

“Back to her?” Jungkook fixed the guy’s shirt. “Do you miss me when you’re with her?”

The guy smiled, pulling Jungkook in again. “I do,” he kissed Jungkook softly, a little too soft to Jungkook’s surprise. “Miss your quick wit, your mouth, your dick, your pretty tight hole. Miss you a lot, Jay.”

Jungkook smiled, slightly forgetting the name he gave the guy. “Good.” He slid his hand down the guy’s front, squeezing his dick. “Miss me more.”

— ✧ —

“Hey.”

Jungkook turned to see Yoongi, cigarette in hand. “How long were you—“

“—I just came out,” Yoongi said, gesturing to the back door of the cafe. “Just enough to see you making out before he left, which was gross by the way. It’s nice if you’re the one making out but seeing it just makes me want to puke.”

Jungkook chuckled, hugging himself as he looked away from Yoongi. Yoongi was always nice to Jungkook, everyone was right about that. Even when Jungkook was being an idiot and doing these things, Yoongi was nice, brushed it off, and never made Jungkook feel worse. Because he does, he feels shitty after sucking off an asshole whose obviously just using Jungkook for sex but Jungkook’s justification is that…Jungkook is using him too?

“Bambi,” Yoongi’s voice brought him back, Yoongi becoming a blurry face. He was going to cry, wasn’t he? Fuck. “Listen, Bambi, I’ll leave but not because I want you to be alone but because you need to be alone right now. You obviously don’t want me to see you cry, so I’ll go back inside and pretend I didn’t see anything, okay?”

“Thank you,” Jungkook barely makes out before he drops to a crouch, closing his eyes as tears ran down his face. This was a stupid plan, Jungkook was more than aware of it. His stupidity driving him to do these things but in the moment, when he stole Jungho’s phone to get all his exes numbers, the plan seemed ingenious.

Maybe everyone was right, maybe he should just give up everything and let things settle on his own. But every time he gets to that, he remembers seeing Jungho break down. Remembers the things that Jungho shouted in wails, his mother barely able to calm him down. They had been on vacation when he saw the publications of his ex. Jungho fell sick shortly after and that’s when Jungkook stole his phone.

He felt warm again, the same anger starting to take over again. Maybe everyone was right, an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. But he much rather be blind than see his brother like that again.
