How about it, officer?

Summary:

“He's- I- wow. He's… something else.” Jungkook managed to get out weakly, but honestly, what could he say to that? He shouldn't even be surprised at the shit Taehyung pulled at this point. Jimin rolled his eyes, shaking his head as he took another vicious bite into his apple.

“Tell me about it. Namjoon got mad because this is like the seventh time he's had to seriously consider getting psychiatric help for the other people in that cell, to help them overcome P-Tae-SD.”

Chapter Text

Jungkook liked to consider himself a straightforward and honest man with a good sense of propriety and morals, who took his job as a police officer seriously. No, really. His less than professional relationship with public menace Kim Taehyung didn't count.

Jungkook first heard about the “King of Petty Crimes” a whopping two minutes after he’d moved into his office at the new police department he'd been assigned to. Having only recently completed his training, with relatively little field experience, and having just moved into the big city to boot, Jungkook had been expecting great things. Scary things. Very badass, life endangering, action movie police things. Perhaps on his first patrol he'd catch sight of his fellow officer caught up in a nail-biting, thrill-inducing car chase, or maybe he'd carefully watch his team breaking into a building and opening fire to bring down a notorious gang. Something intense. Not like what he'd done before, like having to deal with the teenagers, quite close to his own age. The ones that Jungkook had had to drag away from convenience stores while apologising profusely to the enraged grannies shaking their walking sticks at him as if it was his fault their neighbour’s grandson had just committed the grand crime of shoplifting a chocolate bar.

The reality was a bit more… bland. Though their city was infested with gangs and the like, meaning there was always plenty to do, Jungkook had discovered quite quickly that the underground kings ruled their society. Call it corruption or whatnot, but it paid (sometimes literally, they did get tributes from time to time from their worst producers of inmates) to be cooperative with the drug lords and mafia bosses, so as long as none of their daily, messy, ugly incidents affected those living on the surface, the police never interfered. Sure, if there was destruction of public property (which happened a lot), or more serious crimes like armed robberies or murdering citizens not affiliated with those gangs, the police would step in and do their job, but those underground lords also appreciated the unspoken rule of coexistence, so generally avoided that.

So that meant officers like Jungkook did not have too much serious stuff to do. Certainly not as much as he'd expected and imagined. Just dealing with petty, petty small crimes. Usually, when people affiliated with gangs got arrested, unless the crime was serious enough, they could be expected to be bailed out either that day or the next. “Take care of your own”... type of notion, he guessed. Because of that security, these petty crimes happened a lot, and they got quite a few repeat offenders, and many were on friendly, speaking terms with various officers, as ridiculous as it was.

There were those people but then there was the extreme, someone who just seemed to love being inside interrogation rooms and holding cells.

“This is our new recruit, Jeon Jungkook, boys.” The chief of the department, Namjoon was kind enough to show him around the place. He directed him to the shared office area close to the holding cells, a small room on the corner of the corridor with glass walls. Jungkook was a little taken aback at the sight of four officers slumped at their desks, heads resting on the table tops, arms dangling down lifelessly. The entire atmosphere oozed exhaustion and resignation and while Jungkook hadn't exactly been expecting a welcoming ceremony, call him old fashioned, but he'd expected to maybe see his coworkers alive. He honestly wasn't sure if they were, even after peeking at the one closest to him for a good solid few seconds.

“Guys. I said, this is our new recruit, Jungkook. Introduce yourselves, and stop looking like you want to be chucked in the morgue, because I'll be more than happy to arrange that.” Namjoon sighed exasperatedly, hardening his tone authoritatively - or threateningly, Jungkook couldn't yet tell - and the one closest to him jolted back to life so suddenly Jungkook jumped despite himself and swore under his breath. The guy turned his head slowly towards Jungkook, in a way that made the word “creaky” pop into his mind, and he looked… pretty awful. Dark circles seemed tattooed on beneath his drooping, unfocused eyes and he looked up at Jungkook like he was seeing the gate to the underworld above Jungkook’s head.

“Hey Jungkook… welcome. I'm Jimin, that guy’s Hoseok, that one’s Seokjin, and we’re pretty fucking dead right now, don't mind us. And that one’s Yoongi, although he looks like that most of the time. He likes to sleep.” Jimin introduced himself lethargically, words slurring together as he seemed to struggle to keep his eyes open, gesturing vaguely at the other three. Jungkook nodded cautiously.

“Nice… to meet you. I look forward to working with you guys.” Jungkook spoke quietly, bowing his head slightly and Jimin nodded listlessly, eyes rolling back a little as he let his head fall against the desk again with a thud.

“Yeah, this is the sorry lot you'll be working with. They're a lot worse when they're awake. They usually never shut up. What happened this time, boys? Why’re you all looking like this?” Namjoon drawled, walking over to the one that was called Hoseok, Jungkook was pretty sure, and nudged his back with his foot.

“Chief…” Hoseok gave an anguished sound somewhere between a groan and a wail and pushed himself up a little, hair sticking up everywhere. “What do you think it was? It's him again."

“We chased him all over the fucking city all night. Someone gave that little shit a motorbike.” The utterly motionless one, Yoongi, muttered darkly into his arm, and Namjoon sighed, slapping his hand over his eyes.

“That already sounds like a disaster in the making.” Namjoon replied in what Jungkook could only describe as a sympathetic tone. Jungkook was a little impressed and more than a little curious. Who was this “little shit” that had reduced these four officers to… this state? Namjoon sighed again. “And? Did you catch him?”

“Not this time… He slowed down right in front of me and I was just about to catch him before he fucking blew me a kiss and accelerated.” Yoongi growled, voice still muffled by his arm and Hoseok sat up with a lazy sway, grinning at Yoongi.

“Literally blew you a kiss?” Hoseok asked amusedly, raising an eyebrow, and Yoongi groaned irritably, throwing up a dismissive, exasperated hand even as he kept his head down.

“It's him, what do you think?” Yoongi muttered mutinously and Hoseok snorted, laughing brightly and loudly.

“Couldn't he just stay out of trouble for one month. One month. He yelled at me while we were chasing him and straight up told me he was just bored and passing time and he had no reason whatsoever in provoking the chase and had no intention whatsoever in getting caught today. Last night. Whatever.” The last one, Seokjin murmured with the tone of an utterly defeated man, turning his head to the side and gazing blankly at the wall. Jungkook winced. They all looked so beat down because of this one guy. Who seemed to be notorious, seeing as they were playing the pronoun game without bothering to specify who “he” was.

“Sounds like him.” Namjoon nodded gravely in agreement and perhaps if Jungkook wasn't curious about this mysterious criminal he might've accidentally laughed at the comically gloomy, depressed scene he was faced with.

“Um, sorry, who's this?” Jungkook spoke up, addressing Namjoon, but Jimin turned and propped his head up on his hand, leaning his elbow against the desk.

“The worst guy this department’s ever had to deal with. We call him the King of Petty Crimes, and well… the name’s pretty self explanatory, isn't it? We see his ugly mug in here at least once every month, and we chase him at least once every couple of weeks. Thing is, he's got gang connections so we can't ever do anything to him, and he never does anything big, just these small petty crimes all the fucking time. And then he gets bailed out after like two hours and the whole process restarts and it’s hell.” Jimin sighed, a resigned, “what can you do” type of smile lifting his lips and Jungkook returned it uncertainly, trying for sympathetic. Damn, he really wanted to meet this guy now. But he sounded like a real pain in the ass.

“Here's his record.” Namjoon picked a file off a desk and handed it to Jungkook, who smiled in thanks and opened it.

“Kim Taehyung.” Jungkook read aloud, quickly skimming through all the personal information. The relevant facts were: he was twenty-five, born and raised in this city and his occupation was “gang-related”. Okay… not much to go on. There was a long list of what Jungkook could only label as unnecessary bullshit beneath that, handwritten in a messy scrawl and embellished with the occasional winky face. There were rows and rows of added categories that did not matter. It was like the person had created a Q&A quiz for themselves. Shit like his star sign, his favourite food, his favourite colour… it went on for quite a bit. Then there was a bit of… uh…

Sexuality: just sprinkle my ass in rainbow sparkles

Ideal type: the no-nonsense, serious type ;) they're the most fun to tease and fuck around with~

Top or bottom: why don't you find out ;)

Jungkook tried his very hardest, he really did, but he could not keep a straight face, feeling his expression contort into equal parts of disbelief and amusement as he squinted at the paper. He glanced up at Namjoon quickly, who took one look at his face and laughed, obviously knowing what he'd come across. Jungkook grinned despite himself as Jimin laughed as well, shaking his head. He gestured at the rough… dating profile section. “Um, just… just to make sure but, you guys didn't write that, did you?”

“No, nope, not one bit of it, everything handwritten was written down by the culprit himself. I still don't know how he'd gotten ahold of this file. Usually we’d have replaced it already because inappropriate for the workplace and all that, but anything to do with him is a special exception at this point.” Namjoon shook his head firmly and Jungkook couldn't help but laugh, looking back down to read through his crime records. Jungkook’s eyes widened as he took the huge list in, feeling his mouth drop open a little.

“Holy shit. He's got like every little crime in the book under his belt. Quite the repeat offender.” Jungkook whistled, thoroughly taken aback. Kim Taehyung had been arrested over nineteen times in the past year alone, and according to the notes on the side, he'd escaped arrest countless times more. He'd done everything that would get him just treading along the line of a sentence that apparently was never passed. Robbery, fraud, vandalism, street fights and brawls, reckless speeding, verbal and sometimes physical assault of police officers, destruction of the department or the officers’ property, the list went on. He was suspected to have done a lot more, though in those cases the evidence hadn't been conclusive, apparently. Wow.

Namjoon stretched and hummed, patting his shoulder before turning to leave the room. “Yeah, tell me about it. And no doubt you'll have to deal with him pretty soon.”

“Um… where's his photo?” Jungkook asked nobody in particular as he stared at the blank square at the top corner of the sheet, to which he was met with a chorus of groans.

“Last time he was in here he somehow managed to trash the hard copy and delete all photos ever taken of him in the system, and just sat at the computer spinning around and complaining that he was bored when we found him.” Seokjin sat up to say exasperatedly, rubbing at his temple, the very picture of haggard. Jungkook raised his eyebrows. Was security slack here or was Taehyung just that uncontrollable? How was he allowed to access the system?

“He… sounds like a handful. What's he like?” Jungkook asked curiously and was again greeted with distasteful groans. He wondered just how irritating this Taehyung was. What did he look like? Jungkook wasn't expecting much of either his appearance or personality from the impression he'd gotten so far, but he was still curious.

“He just does all this shit for fun. When he gets caught, he's very uh… playful.” Hoseok seemed to have to muster up a fake smile and Yoongi snorted, still not raising his head or shifting from his position.

“You meant to say fucking annoying.” Yoongi corrected in a lazy drawl and Jungkook’s gaze flicked from one tired officer to the next as he paused and grinned. Great. He loved it already.

“I look forward to seeing him. If he comes back.” Jungkook smiled and Jimin nodded grimly.

“Yeah, he’ll be back. Don't worry, you won't miss your chance to see him.”

~

“Are you fucking serious? It's been five days!” Yoongi exclaimed incredulously, spreading his arms wide in a disbelieving gesture. Jungkook glanced up from his desk, already automatically associating that despairing tone of voice with the apparent appearance of that Kim Taehyung somewhere around the city. He'd been stationed at the department for a few weeks now, and never seemed to be on a shift whenever Taehyung was wreaking havoc, but he heard all about it constantly. Apparently Taehyung had been caught once and put in a holding cell during these few weeks, but had been bailed out in twenty minutes. He heard no end of it from an anguished Jimin.

“After I chased him up a fucking garbage chute! A fucking garbage chute!”

Oh yeah, Jungkook remembered that one sided conversation all too well.

“Yeah, I know… but the store owner reported him so I need you to get out there.” Namjoon spoke a little apologetically, tone dry and understanding, and Yoongi deflated, getting out of his chair and tucking his shirt in. Jungkook glanced up at Namjoon who shook his head, gesturing at Seokjin and Hoseok to go. Namjoon didn't let him patrol or go out in the field every day, seeing as he was still a newcomer.

“Why do we have to chase him all the time and bring him back here only for his bullshit petty charges to be cleared and for him to get bailed out within the hour?” Yoongi grumbled and Seokjin nodded firmly in agreement.

“Protocol, Yoongi. We have to follow it.” Namjoon reminded with a half grin and Yoongi rolled his eyes.

“Protocol doesn't apply to him.” Yoongi replied archly, glancing longingly back at the taser sitting on his desk. He seemed to really like the idea of tasing Taehyung one day, from what Jungkook had seen. Yoongi dipped his head at Namjoon’s look, smiling slightly. “Yes, yes, I'm off.”

Jungkook took the stack of papers Namjoon handed him wordlessly. He tended to work through paperwork a lot faster than the rest of the team, so Namjoon had not been holding back on giving him more and more. It was okay, it gave him something to do, and the cases had rules and protocol to study and familiarise himself more with.

Jimin sauntered in around half an hour later, and he glanced around briefly before sitting himself down beside Jungkook.

“Where’re the guys?”

“The chief sent them out. Because of shoplifting, I think? Said the store owner reported.” Jungkook replied, accepting the offered can of energy drink and sliding the papers Namjoon had left for Jimin across to him.

“Shoplifting, huh? Haven't had one of those in a while. Wonder what it was. But aren't there other people out on patrol right now?” Jimin picked an apple off Hoseok’s desk and bit into it as he spoke, picking up a pen with a grimace as he glanced at the papers. Jimin hated paperwork. Jungkook sighed and took the pages back, silently offering to do them for him. Jimin broke into a wide grin, flinging his arms around him and squeezing him tight in thanks.

“Well, yeah, but no other teams like to, or can, deal with this particular shoplifter.” Jungkook replied absently, and Jimin’s entire posture and expression crumpled a little.

“You don't mean to say…” Jimin started resignedly and Jungkook didn't answer, turning his attention to filling out the papers. Jimin groaned and bit the apple a bit more aggressively than necessary. “Exactly since when and why has our team become the exclusive Kim Taehyung Apprehending Force? Maybe I should put in a request to the chief to have our name changed to that. After all, Team Kim Seokjin doesn't sound very exciting, does it?”

Jungkook snorted, standing to stretch and going to reply when he heard voices from the corridor and glanced out the glass wall separating their office.

“But you actually wear insoles, don't you?” Jungkook heard an unfamiliar cheeky, low voice dropped down into a conspiratorial murmur, followed by Seokjin’s flat response.

“I'm not answering that question.” Seokjin spoke as they rounded the corner and Jungkook didn't even try to not let his jaw drop.

When he'd first heard about Taehyung, he hadn't had too much impression and didn't really visualise what he could look like, seeing only a blank square on a police record in his mind. After a few weeks of listening to his teammates’ suffering and their less than enthusiastic attitude towards Taehyung, he'd somehow conjured up a rather unattractive image in his head. After all, he'd only ever heard negative things.

But Taehyung… He looked very different to what Jungkook had imagined. He was hands down, easily the hottest guy Jungkook had ever seen. Jungkook actually forgot to breathe for a few stunned, dumbfounded moments, as he took in Taehyung’s gorgeous face, his perfect skin and sharp jaw, his big, pretty eyes and perfect red, full lips settled into a subtle, inviting pout. His hair was a little windswept and messy but looked soft to the touch. He was tall as well, something Jungkook didn't know why he hadn't expected. He was tall but lithe, body more on the slender than muscular side, skinny jeans squeezing his long, slim legs tight. Jungkook could not believe his hungry eyes, drinking in every last detail, from the curve of his long neck to his long, thin, pretty fingers, hands bound together by handcuffs. Jungkook had never seen anyone just look so fucking casually attractive, especially not in handcuffs. Fuck. He hadn't ever found anyone remotely attractive in handcuffs before.

“For fuck’s sake, why are you back again?” Jimin’s exasperated groan beside him jerked Jungkook back to reality, and he quickly snapped his jaw shut as he watched Jimin get up and walk over to Seokjin and Taehyung who’d paused in the doorway. Jungkook felt a little curiosity creep back, waiting to see just what level of animosity the two were at, seeing as Jimin complained about Taehyung more than Jungkook had complained about anything in his life.

“Good to see you too. What's up, Jiminnie?” Taehyung greeted Jimin warmly with a bright, charming smile that had Jungkook struggling to not choke on air. Taehyung lifted his cuffed hands up and Jimin gripped one of his hands in a friendly bro-shake, patting him on the back firmly. Jungkook raised his eyebrows. What the? They just looked like normal close friends. Well, if one could ignore the handcuffs.

“My blood pressure, thanks to you.” Jimin griped but there wasn't any real malice behind his tone, lips twitching in a hint of a smile and Jungkook’s eyebrows rose further as he glanced to Seokjin. Seokjin was smiling slightly as well, a little exasperated, but not cold or annoyed like Jungkook had thoroughly expected. Huh. Looked like Kim Taehyung was a part of the family, despite everyone’s constant complaints about him.

“Oh, you make my day.” Taehyung crooned at Jimin who flipped him off, shoving him away.

“What'd you steal?” Jimin grinned and Taehyung replied with a completely straight face,

“A vibrator.”

A… what?

“A vibrator. You stole a vibrator.” Jimin echoed tonelessly and Taehyung nodded solemnly. Jimin’s face twitched, before he burst out laughing, shoving Taehyung back again. “You're serious? You actually did.”

“Oh yes, of course. Why would I lie about it? I actually tried it out in the store behind one of the aisles and the owner got mad and started yelling about public indecency, which I understand, I mean, my bad, but I haven't gotten laid in ages, I couldn't stop myself. And I figured he wouldn't wanna sell a used vibrator so I just pocketed it and ran.” Taehyung replied cheerfully, completely shamelessly, and Jungkook wanted to cough in embarrassment just listening to that. He… was starting to get an idea of why Taehyung was the source of his team’s constant headaches. He was absolutely not imagining the scene Taehyung just so flippantly described.

“You're an actual hazard to society. Where's the vibrator now? We can't exactly return it to the poor store owner.” Jimin looked like he was trying his very best to speak seriously and Taehyung hummed thoughtfully, eyes going wide and round in an adorable way for a second.

“I have no clue. And see? That's why you should've just let me take it.” Taehyung sighed daintily, and Yoongi appeared beside them with the stormiest scowl on his face.

“The damn thing’s disposed of.” Yoongi growled and Jimin patted his shoulder sympathetically, as if to say “you’ve worked hard”. Taehyung just laughed, a bright tinkling sound, and he seemed like he was about to walk away when he caught sight of Jungkook. He paused and turned back, staring very unabashedly, directly at Jungkook with an alarming amount of interest. Jungkook tensed, hardening his expression slightly as he stared back and Taehyung’s eyes widened, soft looking lips parting a little. A sudden intense, dark, heated something swirled in his eyes and his expression didn't change, but the atmosphere had, somehow. Jungkook almost jumped, but kept himself still, narrowing his eyes. He was still trying to come to terms with how goddamn attractive this guy was, but if he wasn't mistaken… Taehyung was giving him bedroom eyes right now. Jungkook swallowed, feeling heat rush through his body as Taehyung openly looked him up and down, something like approval flashing in his shadowed eyes. Holy fuck.

“Oh? Fresh blood?” Taehyung asked brightly, innocently, a sunny smile spreading across his face, but Jungkook didn't miss the way his eyes lingered on Jungkook’s upper arms, thighs, and his-

“Nope, we’re going. We’re leaving right now, you are not preying on our newest member. No. Leave him alone. Off we go.” Seokjin cut in abruptly, seeming to recognise danger in Taehyung’s expression, placing a firm hand on his shoulder and pushing him forward, down the corridor.

“Aw, you won't even let me say hi? He's totally my type!” Taehyung pouted as he whined, and Jungkook had to swallow again with difficulty as his eyes zeroed in on Taehyung’s lips. He ignored what Taehyung said, for his own sake. Jungkook couldn't tear his eyes away from the stunning boy as he walked down the corridor, practically scorching holes through the glass. Right before he went out of sight, Taehyung paused a little and turned his head to gaze at Jungkook with a small, almost softly alluring smile. Then very carefully, very purposefully, he mouthed the words “fuck me, officer”. He winked, and disappeared around the corner.

It took Jimin four tries of yelling his name to get Jungkook’s attention.

“Jeon Jungkook!” Jimin yelled right into Jungkook’s ear, who jumped and finally snapped out of his trance, immediately needing to swallow to get rid of the saliva that had pooled in his mouth.

“W-What the…” Jungkook managed to utter belatedly, dazed and disoriented, and hastily tried to get ahold of himself, shaking his head to clear the sudden soft red haze.

“He um… yeah.” Hoseok gestured helplessly after Taehyung from where he leant against the doorframe, sympathetic expression directed at Jungkook as he obviously just witnessed the totally uncalled for, unexpected, inappropriate flirting. “Before you ask, yeah, he's like that all the time.”

“Yeah. And that's the infamous Kim Taehyung, who is the worst thing that's ever happened to our team, but also happens to be pretty hot and somehow charming even though he says and does the most inappropriate shit with a straight face.” Jimin drawled dryly and Jungkook had to pinch himself to get himself to focus and stop thinking about Taehyung’s lips for a second.

“So… he says ‘fuck me officer’ to everyone too?” Jungkook mumbled almost incomprehensibly and Jimin’s eyebrows shot upwards, eyes widening.

“He said what now?”

“Oh- no, nothing, never mind.” Jungkook replied hastily, avoiding Jimin’s stare. Maybe… maybe that bit wasn't Taehyung’s usual behaviour. Shit. What did that mean for him?

Absolutely nothing, Jeon Jungkook. Jungkook drew in a sharp breath and closed his eyes for a second, quickly forcing himself to come back to his senses. Okay, Kim Taehyung was hot. He just flirted with Jungkook and asked him to fuck him. But he was also a criminal, and currently arrested. Jungkook was a man of high morals and he would never consider something as unprofessional as fucking the department’s most regular cuffed visitor. Taehyung’s flirting meant nothing; Jungkook was made of sterner stuff. Yeah.

But goddamnit, he was so fucking hot.

Hoseok was saying something and Jungkook quickly tuned in again.

“He usually gets pretty flirty with every new guy he meets here, but he gets bored and moves onto a new target pretty quickly. With luck, he'll move on from you and pick on someone else before long.” Hoseok grinned and Jungkook nodded robotically, trying to process that while shoving the image of Taehyung winking out of his mind’s eye. With luck… yes. Right?

“Oh, I don't know about that. The look he had was a bit… intense. I don't think he’ll just play around once or twice and drop it this time. Jungkook, you should probably watch out. Nothing good comes from being the subject of Taehyung’s attention.” Jimin cautioned with a lazy drawl, and Jungkook just shook it off and laughed, refusing to let himself even consider any wayward thoughts. He wasn’t a kid, he could handle a flirty guy or two. He was already getting over it.

Was what he thought, but Taehyung proved him wrong a mere two hours later.

“He's out, boys.” Seokjin announced despairingly as he swung back into the room and slumped into his seat. Jimin sighed and sprung off his chair in the same beat, leaning out the door and yelling down the corridor.

“Fuck you, Kim Taehyung!” Jimin called loudly, cheerfully, and faint laughter could be heard rooms away.

“For real? About time! I knew you'd come around!” Taehyung’s bright, sing-song voice echoed down the corridor, to which Jimin groaned in distaste and wrinkled his nose.

“Not literally, thirsty motherfucker.” Jimin sighed and Taehyung walked into view, smirking a little as he paused beside Jimin and leant his forearm on Jimin’s shoulder. Jungkook tried his best to seem nonchalant and composed, and not look like he just choked on his own spit just at seeing Taehyung’s gorgeous face again.

“A pity.” Taehyung murmured into Jimin’s ear, giving a lazy, sharp grin as he leant in close, and Jungkook sort of wanted to scream and hit his head on the table, sort of wanted to be in Jimin’s position. Jimin snorted and shrugged him off, raising an eyebrow.

“You know I'm not interested. You also know I don't top.” Jimin replied flatly, and Taehyung shrugged carelessly.

“I don't mind switching it up a little, your ass is amazing.” Taehyung grinned, reaching forward and slapping Jimin’s ass sharply. Jimin shoved him back but didn't seem genuinely annoyed or even surprised in the slightest. He just threw Taehyung a flat look.

“We also both know that you're not actually interested either. Stop fucking around.” Jimin snorted and Taehyung giggled, smiling sweetly, prettily in response. He patted Jimin on the shoulder and turned to walk down the corridor without a second glance at either Jungkook or Seokjin.

“Later, boys.” Taehyung called over his shoulder as he gave a dainty little wave and strode off. Jungkook watched him through the glass walls and tracked his casual, nonchalant movements with embarrassingly intense focus until he walked out of sight.

“Jungkook, you look like you're struggling.” Seokjin spoke with a twisted expression, as if he was trying his best not to laugh. Jungkook quickly ripped his eyes away from the glass, doing everything he could to stop thinking about Taehyung’s ass in those tight, tight jeans.

“With?” Jungkook managed to focus enough to force out and Seokjin shrugged, lips twitching as he replied.

“Yourself?” Seokjin suggested amusedly and Jimin burst out laughing, looking at Jungkook with the most pitying, sympathetic eyes he'd ever seen.

“Oh no. Oh dear. I wouldn't go for it, Jungkook. Taehyung’s not exactly… a conventionally safe option. I know he looks good enough to eat, but if you're not careful, you might burn your tongue.” Jimin grinned knowingly as he sauntered over to Jungkook and rested his arm on the back of his seat. Jungkook coughed and glanced away coolly, as if he wasn't dealing with an inner system shutdown at the thought.

“I don't know what you're talking about. I'm going to the bathroom.” Jungkook replied flatly and got up to do just that, ignoring Jimin’s obnoxious sniggering.

“To jerk off?”

“To piss, you horny idiot.” Jungkook drawled over his shoulder to which Jimin snorted ungracefully.

“Who's the real horny idiot here? He's a bad idea, you know that.” Jimin sang cheerily and Jungkook flipped him off lazily, not bothering to turn back as Jimin just laughed at him. He knew it was a bad idea. That's why he wasn't going to, as Jimin put it, go for it.

He was still mighty affected, though. He was going to the bathroom to splash cold water on his face, after all.

He cupped his hands and let the cold tap water flow over the tips of his fingers, soothing the remnants of the burning itch to touch Taehyung’s slim body. He slapped the water onto his face carelessly, trying to let the sudden, sharp coolness against his skin jolt him back to his senses. He heard someone drying their hands at the row of sinks behind him as he dragged his hand down his face once roughly. He let water drip down his chin as he blinked water out of his eyes and pushed his hair back.

“Ooh, careful. Looking a bit too good there, officer.” A low, sultry voice murmured right beside his ear as he opened his eyes to look up at his reflection. Jungkook jumped and jerked away reflexively, heart thudding in shock as he stared at Taehyung standing there with a lazy smirk curving his pretty lips. He was so close Jungkook could smell his sharply sweet scent filling his senses and stealing his breath away. Taehyung tilted his head slightly, big, pretty eyes shadowed with maddeningly evident appreciation. He was so goddamn attractive Jungkook felt a dizzying burst of want spear through his skull and light his mind on fire. Taehyung raised his hand to press his warm fingertip lightly against the corner of Jungkook’s jaw and traced his jawline slowly down to his chin, letting his touch linger. Jungkook felt a jolt of heat in his stomach snap him out of his momentary trance. He slapped Taehyung’s hand away, narrowing his eyes coldly even as his heart raced and his pulse thundered in his ears.

“Don't touch me please.” Jungkook spoke lowly, drawing back and tensing his posture in an unwelcoming manner, warning Taehyung to back off. Taehyung didn't seem fazed, smiling as he lazily lifted his finger up to his mouth. He licked the water droplet off, letting his tongue curl over his fingertip unnecessarily slowly, maintaining unnecessarily intense, fiery and impressively steady eye contact all the while. Jungkook felt dizzying, distracting heat slam into him as his mouth opened involuntarily. Holy shit.

“Oh, you've got a nice voice. And sorry, my bad.” Taehyung replied quietly, unbearably charming, flirtatious smile screaming that he was anything but. Jungkook didn't trust himself to answer properly, and just turned sharply to dry his hands, giving himself a chance to breathe as he looked away from Taehyung.

“Is there nobody escorting you out?” Jungkook asked with a meaningful edge to his tone, silently telling him to hurry up and leave the station already. Taehyung didn't reply immediately, and Jungkook turned back only to stiffen and freeze in place as Taehyung stepped right up into his space, practically pressing up against his body. Taehyung widened his eyes a little, giving him an adorably innocent, sweet look as he stared directly into Jungkook’s eyes. Jungkook wasn't fooled for a second, but fuck it was hard to not lose himself in those entrancingly soft, shining eyes. He smelt so good Jungkook had to stop himself from breathing for a moment, barely able to process a single thought with Taehyung standing so, so close.

Taehyung looked down almost shyly, lowering his head so his soft hair brushed against Jungkook’s forehead and he brought his hand up slowly, fingertips brushing ever so slightly against Jungkook’s thigh. He picked at the corner of Jungkook’s shirt that had come untucked between three long, thin fingers and toyed with the material. Fuck, Jungkook had noticed it earlier but Taehyung had really, really pretty hands. He wondered what his pretty fingers would look like clenched into tight fists as he desperately strained his hands against handcuffs. Jungkook almost choked on nothing as the sudden image flooded his mind and he internally prayed for heavenly guidance. Thank God he didn't blush easily.

“There is, right here.” Taehyung replied softly, presenting a mind numbingly sweet smile right in Jungkook’s face before he tucked his shirt back in properly for him, touch warm and light. It took Jungkook a lot of rapidly blinking and ten long seconds of ridiculously intense thought to finally register that Taehyung was replying to his question before, of whether there was someone escorting him out. Jungkook closed his eyes and took in a deep breath, using every ounce of his willpower and concentration to get a grip on himself already. It wasn't like he hadn't been hit on before, and it wasn't like he didn't have any experience with dealing with it.

He gave a light smirk, watching Taehyung’s eyes widen ever so slightly like he hadn't meant to show his surprise, and enjoying the sudden flare of arousal he could see flash through Taehyung’s stare. He placed his hand on Taehyung’s shoulder, smiling a little wider and giving him a light push backwards. Taehyung stepped back without any resistance, smiling as a new calculating gleam simmered in his eyes. He stared at Jungkook with a certain sense of caution, like he thought he'd figured Jungkook out but he was surprised and confused now and having to reanalyse. It was gratifying, in a way, that he'd taken Taehyung off guard.

“Smooth.” Jungkook spoke simply, and Taehyung’s smile widened slowly, eyes glittering with an unreadable something.

“Why thank you, I try my best. Anyway, nobody’s seeing me out because this is basically my second home. I know the place very well and the boys all know me, so I usually just let myself out once my bailer comes. I'll be back before you know it.” Taehyung explained flippantly, carelessly, and Jungkook raised a lazy eyebrow, tilting his head a little and smiling faintly as if to indulge him. His smile deepened into an amused smirk as Taehyung’s lips parted ever so slightly, a tiny breath of visible want escaping him as his eyes widened more. Heat blazed in his stare and his pretty lips curved into a sharp, dangerous, approving smile.

“I don't doubt it, from what I've heard.” Jungkook replied conversationally, as if Taehyung wasn't mapping his body with his hungry eyes. Taehyung laughed at that, sighing and shaking his head theatrically.

“Don't listen to Jimin bitch about me, he loves having me around. But in any case, I'm feeling a little adventurous today, so I might run off somewhere in this station and wreak havoc. I suggest you keep an eye on me and walk me to the exit, officer.” Taehyung murmured, voice dropping low and airy as he flicked his eyes up to meet Jungkook’s gaze sharply. Jungkook had to bite the inside of his cheek hard enough to draw blood so that he could focus again after hearing the pure sin dripping off Taehyung’s tongue as he all but purred the word “officer”. How was it even possible to make one word sound so sensual?

“I’m not obliged to but I have a feeling it'll be better for me to just agree and go along with you. Or you might do something just to be petty, right?” Jungkook replied as evenly as he could, to which Taehyung laughed brightly.

“Goodness, you know me so well already. Yes, that's right.” Taehyung smiled sweetly, a bit too blatantly happily to be fully genuine, and Jungkook rolled his eyes, gesturing for him to walk ahead.

“Go on then.” Jungkook sighed, slinging his hands in his pockets, tapping his foot agitatedly. The sooner Taehyung left, the sooner he could scream and hit his head against the wall. Taehyung smirked as he turned, as if he could sense Jungkook’s thoughts, walking away without another word. Jungkook meant to follow right after, but he felt his feet freeze a little as his traitorous eyes glued themselves to the inviting, mesmerising, subtle sway of Taehyung’s narrow hips as he walked. Fuck his long, slender legs looked so good as he took those casual, confident, relaxed strides as if he wasn't making Jungkook’s mouth water more with every step. Taehyung paused as Jungkook thought this, turning back with an almost convincing confused, curious expression, as if he didn't know exactly why Jungkook had stopped to watch.

“Officer?” Taehyung called innocently, the very picture of pure, endearing obliviousness if only his eyes didn't dance with the gleam of mirth and what Jungkook could only describe as satisfaction. Jungkook narrowed his eyes witheringly, mutinously as he forced his feet to move, catching up to him. Fuck you. You know you look good.

“How long have you been working here? Haven't seen you around before.” Taehyung commented conversationally as he pushed open the bathroom door and stepped out into the corridor.

“Transferred a few weeks ago.” Jungkook replied shortly, tonelessly, hoping that would be the end to the conversation but of course it wouldn't be that easy. Taehyung turned his head to regard him thoughtfully as they walked.

“Settling in nicely?” Taehyung asked in an over exaggeratedly warm, matronly way, causing Jungkook to send him a withering look.

“Are you my mum?” Jungkook commented flatly, to which Taehyung replied without missing a beat.

“No, but can you be my dad?” Taehyung asked completely seriously, not even batting an eyelash, and it took Jungkook a second to realise what he meant. Oh fuck no.

“I'm younger than you.” Jungkook pointed out tersely, stiffly, staring ahead of him resolutely. Taehyung laughed airily, waving his hand to dismiss his words.

“No matter. And you know that's not what I mean, officer.” Taehyung’s voice dropped down meaningfully, rich and smooth and sexy as all hell, and Jungkook refused to look at him, speeding up his steps a little.

“Yes I know what you mean, I'm just choosing to ignore that. Don't ask me that again.” Jungkook spoke coldly, keeping his tone brittle and unyielding to hide the slightest trace of interest. He wasn't even into that shit but for some reason the thought of it being Taehyung- Fuck, he needed a cold shower.

“Not into that?” Taehyung asked chirpily and Jungkook resolutely shook his head no.

“Can't say I am."

“Not into me?” Taehyung fired the cheerful question immediately after, without even stopping for thought. Jungkook did his best not to choke on air as he tried to force out a convincing lie. God, his tongue almost betrayed him just then.

“I- yeah. I'm not.” Jungkook replied flatly, strongly, far stronger than he felt, and Taehyung giggled, a beautifully bright sound.

“You struggled for a second there.” Taehyung sang, clearly all too pleased with himself by causing Jungkook to suffer, and Jungkook shot him a sharp glare.

“You're very outright about what you want.” Jungkook remarked dryly and Taehyung winked, flashing him a poster-worthy, award-winning charming smile. Fuck, it was like looking straight into the sun.

“It's the best way to go. It's how I get all the boys. And I'm glad you're not the dense type. You can tell I want you.” Taehyung’s voice fell away to a sensual, tempting murmur, heat simmering in his shadowed eyes. Jungkook coughed uncomfortably, suddenly find it a little hard to breathe, even as he acted like he wasn't fazed and his heart wasn't thudding.

“You're not making that very hard for me.” Jungkook replied matter of factly and Taehyung’s pretty lips slowly curved in a wide smile. His impossibly heated, hungry stare purposefully drifted down, down Jungkook’s chest and stomach and sliding down lower. Fuck.

“I could make something else pretty hard.” Taehyung breathed softly, airy voice filled with promise. He gave a tiny, irritatingly self assured smirk as his gaze flicked back up to meet Jungkook’s stare. Holy shit, Taehyung needed to fucking stop, or Jungkook was going to have a very big and visible issue soon.

“I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that.” Jungkook replied tightly, tensely as he turned to face the front again and gritted his teeth. They were almost at the entrance now, just about twenty metres away, he could do this.

“What's your name, officer?” Taehyung asked naturally, infuriatingly bright and friendly while Jungkook was struggling to suppress a crisis.

“Jungkook. Jeon Jungkook.” Jungkook answered shortly, tersely, and Taehyung hummed in thought. They reached the entrance and Jungkook stopped, gesturing sharply, silently for Taehyung to leave. God, he needed some time to breathe.

“Well, Jungkook, I have a feeling you’re gonna be the reason I'll be back here in the very near future. Until then.” Taehyung spoke sunnily, cheerfully, as if it was a completely normal, natural statement. He waved his pretty fingers daintily as he winked and turned away to head out the door.

Yoongi passed Jungkook as he stood there with frozen feet and a dazed stare locked on the receding view of Taehyung’s back.

“Hey, officer. You're drooling.”

Notes:

So this is something I wrote quite a while ago that I thought I might as well continue and start posting~ but damn. I'm legit struggling writing something that doesn't yet involve angst lmao this is an issue

It was originally meant to be pwp but then in later chapters I've planned I was like eh why not throw in a little emotional bullshit so here we gooo

Edit: I just realised the characters would be a bit young to have proper credentials and be working if I used their real ages lmaooo so everyone's age is shifted up a bit yep unimportant detail there

Thanks for reading!
