Work Text:
The multicolored lights which shone down on the stage – awaiting his return – only filled Yuuichirou with more excitement. Adrenaline ran through his body as the crowd chanted his name.
“Yuuichirou, Yuuichirou, Yuui–chirou!”
Picking his feet up, Yuuichirou jogged in place to keep his energy and enthusiasm up. Yuuichirou wanted to wait a little while longer before he returned to his performance, not just because the crowd’s screaming and cheering was music to his ears. It was just that he needed to catch his breath.
He wasn't necessarily taking a break though, in fact his show had technically ended – as he stood to the side of the stage. What was happening was...
“Encore, encore!”
Silent words poured from his mouth while he continuously rolled his shoulders. The delicate, crisp lyrics from the new song he was practicing fell down and swirled through the air. However, all Yuuichirou could focus on was his fans.
Mentally and physically exhausted, Yuuichirou was more than ready for a break. Strangely, at the same time, he was desperate to get back out on stage. Nothing pleased him more than hearing the crowd sing along, seeing them jump and scream with each sway of his hips to the thump of the bass.
Sweat ran down his forehead as he shook his arms around to brush his nerves off. A sleek, silver mic in one hand, a bottle in the other, Yuuichirou took a deep breath and gasped for air before taking another sip of water. The cool liquid brought relief to his throat but his body was still on fire. He knew that the feeling of being high, dizzy, and invincible would go away a few hours after the show. For now, Yuuichirou chose to embrace it.
In Yuuichirou’s opinion, the final show of his world tour was going great. Better than he could ask for, even. Everything was going smoothly with no disruptions behind the scenes, and the crowd seemed ecstatic. Considering that he was a newly-born rapper and singer in the music industry who was rising through the charts, he was doing quite amazing on his first big event.
When Yuuichirou first embarked with his crew for the tour it was rough, he would admit, but once the stage crew and the performer began to cooperate everything changed.
The show became incredible and breathtaking – with flashing lights, a hard bass, smoke, fog, just name it. It was all the media could talk about because it was one of a kind. Shows would even be sold out. Yuuichirou couldn't believe it. He had made it so far.
When he first started rapping, singing, and performing he was a teenager. One of the reasons Yuuichirou began chasing his dream was to earn money for his family at the orphanage, even though at the age of twelve he was adopted. Guren Ichinose, along with his husband Shinya, had taken him in and brought him home with open arms. He refused to forget about everyone at the orphanage since they had done so much for him though. His family away from home was always in his thoughts.
When the orphanage suddenly began losing money, causing the children and workers there to live a strict lifestyle, Yuuichirou refused to watch from the sidelines any longer. That began the pursuit of his lifelong dream. He had always possessed a love for performing and was bold – craving attention. Yuuichirou used it to his advantage.
When he was eighteen, Yuuichirou began to work at clubs and entertained there. Then, early in the morning, he would walk home under the city lights. The shimmering stars protected him and the honks and yells on the streets gave him inspiration. When he rose in the morning after a few hours of sleep, he dedicated all his time to writing new songs.
Attention was drawn to Yuuichirou like a magnet, especially because of his character. He was daring, loud, charming – a sexy , enticing gentleman. At the age of twenty three he was already displaying large amounts of talent. So when Hiragi Studios, a place where performers were able to quickly rise to attention, finally made a contract with him, Yuuichirou almost fainted.
A year later, Yuuichirou – standing twenty-four and proud – was on his tour. Finishing it, actually. However as much as he loved traveling and performing for his fans whom he loved with all his heart - he was getting homesick. That’s why he requested his final performance to be in his hometown.
In some way, he was ending where it all began.
Yuuichirou decided that he would donate most of the money he earned to the orphanage. It was the least he could do. He wouldn't have been where he was today without them. They had taken him in, supported him. Yuuichirou loved them with all his heart.
The rest of the money he earned, Yuuichirou gave to support Guren and Shinya, who proudly owned an ice skating rink. Of course, he paid for his own belongings as well. After all, he couldn’t help but to spoil himself too…
At the moment though, the show was ‘over.’ By that, the crowd was requesting, screaming for an encore, and who was Yuuichirou to deny them?
In curiosity, green eyes peeked around the corner of the stage to glance at the crowd. It had been minutes since he went off stage, but people didn’t seem to be leaving. Sure, there were a few who left, but most stayed and continued to cheer. People of many ages, but mostly teenagers and young adults, filled the stadium – while the people in the pit began to scream and throw their arms up.
“Encore, encore, encore!”
“You ready to go back on?” Shinoa asked from behind, causing Yuuichirou to jump in shock. The purple-haired girl covered the mic which was next to her mouth as she talked to her friend. “We’ll turn your hand-held mic back once you make your ‘grand entrance.’”
Biting his bottom lip, Yuuichirou grinned. “You think it’s been long enough?” He asked, tilting his head towards the crowd. “Should I make them wait some more?”
“You better not, and you have no time considering the smoke machines are gonna go off in exactly–” Shinoa glanced at her watch. “–Thirty seconds.”
“Eh?!” Yuuichirou’s eyes widened and he took a step back, spinning around in a circle as he searched for his red hat. “Where’s my cap?!”
“Twenty seconds.”
“Shinoa!”
“How would I know?” Asked the manager, twirling her hair around. “Eleven seconds.”
“You’re no help at all,” Yuuichirou grumbled, suddenly throwing his arms up. “I give up.” Sighing in exhaustion, the performer ran his hands down his bare chest and over his quite noticeable abs. Black jeans hugged his thighs tightly and made all the girls and guys swoon. In addition, because of the bright stage lights, a crisp line of eyeliner outlined his bold, emerald orbs to give them more attention.
“Why do you need it?” Shinoa reached behind the black curtains that hung next to the stage, pulling out a shirt for Yuuichirou to wear. She quickly tossed it at him right as the smoke machines went off. Immediately, the crowd screamed, causing both Yuuichirou and Shinoa to grin.
“Because my hair's a mess,” Yuuichirou walked towards the edge of the backstage area, getting ready to make his amazing return. The shirt which Shinoa had tossed to him was quickly discarded. He wanted people to stare after all.
When the lights began flashing, Yuuichirou was able to snap out of his slight daze and he ran centerstage. Smoke began rising from the ground and surrounded him while the giant screen behind him changed colors.
“Ahhhhh!” The crowd screamed, causing Yuuichirou to smile charmingly.
“You didn’t think I’d go so soon, right?” He teased, leaning over as he walked down the part of the stage which extended into the sea of people. “Come on, the night isn’t over yet.”
“Oh my God!”
“He’s so close!”
“Yuuichirou! Over here!”
Acknowledging the crowd’s screams, Yuuichirou gave in and leaned down, running his fingers over the hands extended up in the air. He suddenly dropped to his knees at the end of the stage and wrapped his arms around one of the girls, ruffling her hair afterwards.
“Having a good time?” Yuuichirou asked before holding the mic in front of her face.
The girl fanned herself, looking unsteady. “Y-Yes!” She yelled into the microphone, face becoming flushed.
“Good, that’s all I want.” Yuuichirou genuinely smiled and rose to his feet. “What about you guys?” He raised the hand which held his microphone up towards the crowd.
A scream erupted from the crowd, and Yuuichirou’s music finally began playing. For a moment all Yuuichirou could do was stand there, eyes glued on the amazing sight in front of him. Most of the people in front of him, which were numbered in the thousands, held glowsticks and signs. Some were covered in hearts while others had messages, but either way Yuuichirou’s heart stopped.
Back to character. Own the stage.
He suddenly smirked and tilted his head down. Swaying from side to side, Yuuichirou licked his lips. “Great, great.” He breathed out, the rhythm of the song echoing in his ears. There were loud drums, anticipation rising as he opened his mouth for his starting word.
“Yuu-san!” Yuuichirou glanced to the side when Shinoa called to him. He tried to not make her talking to him extremely obvious since the song was about the start. However, when she raised his missing red hat up, he wanted to leap in joy.
And that’s exactly what he did.
Shinoa raised her hand and threw the cap across the stage, so Yuuichirou took off his feet and jumped up to catch it. Grin on his face, he successfully caught it right as it was his time to shine.
“I thought you said you'd never leave,” Yuuichirou’s voice was husky, and he triumphantly strutted across stage when the crowd had a positive reaction to his and Shinoa’s little stunt. His red cap fit his head perfectly, making his appearance scream ‘desire.’
He continued to sing out, “Know what happens every time you wanna leave.”
Hands up in the air, Yuuichirou spun and jumped around the stage, the crowd doing the same next to their seats. They began singing along with him.
“Always come back 'cause you wanna fuck
Always come back 'cause you wanna fuss.”
His heart was pounding against his chest, much like the rhythm. Yuuichirou could never get used to this feeling – the overwhelming sensation he got when he performed. Heat rose to his cheeks as he sauntered around, the screams he got from the crowd because of his defined body and enticing voice making his head spin.
Yuuichirou never wanted it to end. If he could, he’d make the encore last forever. The lights, music, people, his friends… it was addicting. He loved it all.
When the beat suddenly changed and Yuuichirou took the mic down from his face, he took a deep breath and ran a hand down his chest. It was no longer his time to sing, but it was the song’s turn to dance through everyone’s ears.
Yuuichirou raised his arms up in the air and swung his hips to the side. Dropping with his hips hung low, he let them sway, arching his back as he did so. Head leaned back – breath heavy, eyes closed, Yuuichirou suddenly raised his arms up to rip the cap off his head. He carelessly threw it to the side and ran a hand through his hair.
Sweat covered his skin and gave his tanned body a heavenly glow which would make any person’s knees buckle. Yuuichirou danced to the beat and had a body that screamed ‘sexiness’ because of it’s allure. Watching the raven dance was mouth watering.
With each turn, jump, and spin, his body and movements were crisp. His hips would occasionally rotate and his hands would extend, but suddenly when the tempo changed he flicked his wrists and he dropped down, knees spread apart. Yuuichirou’s rear hovered over the ground with his sudden squat.
When Yuuichirou stood back up, one of his hands made its way up his thigh and over his crotch seductively, a smirk plastered on his face. His lip was caught between his teeth and he rolled it before sighing in bliss.
Once again, he went down – but this time he was on his knees. Yuuichirou tilted his head up and stared out into the crowd. His outlined chest and stomach gleamed in the light and his defined arms, which were both covered with tattoos, stood out.
His mic was raised again, and he was breathless.
“ I just hope you put me back together when I come apart.”
.x.
Yuuichirou finally decided it.
He had finally reached a conclusion: He hated encores.
Head resting on a pillow as his body was sprawled out on the couch in the dressing room, Yuuichirou groaned. His head was pounding so he squeezed his eyes shut and tried to ignore the uncomfortable, arduous feeling.
“I’m never doing that many songs for an encore ever again,” Yuuichirou groaned, rolling onto his back. Glancing at Shinoa, who stood next to him, Yuuichirou puffed a piece of hair out of his face. “Stop making that face.”
Lips pursed, Shinoa couldn’t stop herself from giggling. “I’m not making a face.” She defended herself, eyes glued on her phone’s screen.
“You are…” Yuuichirou whined and sat up, scratching the back of his head. “Stop judging me and my rookie mistakes.”
“I can’t help it Yuu-san,” Shinoa chuckled, finally making eye-contact with Yuuichirou. “I understand that it was the final show but you pushed yourself too much.”
“Yeah, well,” Yuuichirou sighed and untied his shoes, running his hands over his still exposed chest when he brought his hands up. “What can I say? I was excited.”
“Oh, I know!” Shinoa gasped playful. “It was quite clear that you were more than excited when you ripped your shirt off halfway through the show.” She said and grinned, walking across the room to fix her appearance in a mirror. “But your fans seemed to enjoy it.”
“I don’t see why…” Yuuichirou said innocently and stood up, grinning as he rolled his hips. He continued to act clueless.
Shinoa shook her head, “If I wasn’t lesbi as fuck and dating Mitsuba then I would have said, ‘Damn.’”
Doing a slight bow, Yuuichirou snickered. “Thanks,” He said and ran two hands through his damp hair. He then leaned up against the side of the couch and sighed. “Who were you texting? Obviously not Mitsuba.”
“Nah, Mitsu is still in a photo shoot,” Shinoa said and pouted, still upset that her girlfriend wasn’t able to text for a while. It was a miracle that the blonde girl was able to get time away from her modeling career though. “I was texting Kimi to see how the cleanup was going.”
“They’re taking down their equipment tonight?” Asked Yuuichirou, clearly confused. He knew that Kimizuki and Yoichi were in the tech crew and were in charge of lights and sound, but taking down their stuff so late at night was a little shocking. “I thought we were all going to go to the club now!”
“Don’t get your panties in a twist, they’re leaving the cleanup to the rest of the crew. I’m just waiting for him to text me and say that they’re ready.” Shinoa explained, pushing away from the mirrors and going back to the racks of clothing. “Get a shirt on, pretty-boy. We’re gonna leave any minute.”
Biting his bottom lip, Yuuichirou stuffed his hands in his pockets and jumped forward, going through the racks with Shinoa. They eventually agreed on a plain green shirt for him to wear. Yuuichirou found this quite strange – Shinoa taking it on herself to argue with him, a grown man, over what he would wear.
As Shinoa continued to text away to get the details about what club they would go to as well as where they would meet to leave, Yuuichirou fixed his appearance in the mirror.
He began with fixing his undercut - pushing his hair up before making it stay secured and stylish. A bit of red hair dye lingered in the hair, but Yuuichirou didn’t care. If anything he really liked it. He thought about re-dying it a few times but never got around to it…
I should do it again during my break, He thought to himself, turning to the side. The silver chain which was attached to his skinny jeans jangled as he made sure he looked decent and not like a sweaty mess. Yuuichirou would have done more to make sure he wasn’t sloppy, such as touch up the eyeliner he wore for the show, but Shinoa suddenly grabbed his arm.
“Ready to go?” She asked, raising her phone and waving it on front of his face. “Kimizuki and Yoichi are on their way out. Apparently we're going to a place called…” Shinoa turned the phone around and glanced at the text one last time. “Blue star?”
“Really?” Yuuichirou asked, nodding once. “That’s a pretty flashy place, I didn't think you guy’s would want to go there.”
A smile crept onto his face when Yuuichirou remember the first time he was allowed into a club – which was surprisingly Blue Star. Nagoya had a lot of clubs, but there were only three incredible and exclusive ones. Blue star happened to be one of them. It was neon decorated club with outstanding lights and music. He’d never forget the night when he went with Guren, and by the end of the night they were both a bit tipsy.
It was a good night for both of them because they finally bonded. However the hangover in the morning made them question if it was really worth it.
“Flashy is my middle name,” Shinoa commented with a grin. “You should know that by now.”
“Oh trust me, I do.” Yuuichirou’s eyes widened dramatically. He shook his head and sighed loudly, motioning to Shinoa’s outfit – which happened to be a sequin shirt with gold, glittery booty shorts. He began to wonder when she even had time to change into that.
Shinoa’s hair was curled and fluffy, shaping her head perfectly. Along with the shinning outfit, she wore flats with strings that hugged her ankles tightly. They were black flats with a small heel which clicked against the floor. She was prepared for a long night of dancing.
Am I ready though? Yuuichirou thought and ran a hand through his hair, walking towards the door.
“So, we gonna go?” Yuuichirou asked, getting a bit antsy. He didn't want his energy to drain before he had even left the stadium. A part of him hoped it did though so he could go home and sleep–
No, Yuuichirou shook his head and flashed a smile. No time to chicken out now. Just have a good night.
Thankfully some of his strength had crawled into him as he thought about all the good times he had at Blue Star. No matter what happened, Yuuichirou knew he’d have a good time.
Shinoa nodded and grabbed her purse and wallet, “Yeah. We just need to meet them out front.”
“We’re not taking a back way?” Yuuichirou’s face scrunched up in confusion.
“Nah,” Shinoa shook her head. “You get to have one last flashy exit before your tour ends. You’re welcome.”
“You know I do love those," Yuuichirou teased back playfully. He watched Shinoa open the door for both of them, but before he went out into the hallway he quickly grabbed his red hat, wallet and phone. Yuuichirou placed the cap on his head as he and Shinoa walked out into the hallway.
The click of their shoes echoed through the concrete hallways which were decorated with pictures and red pieces of fabric on the walls. It was quite strange, but Yuuichirou had no place to judge. After all, his house was a mess and this was a nice theater. There was no comparison.
Quickly going up stairs, Yuuichirou’s eyes shimmered when the finally reached the glass doors in the lobby. Cameras flashed from the other side of the glass and he could see people jumping and screaming. Next to them were cameras from news stations and independent channels.
“Yo, you guys.” Shinoa pointed at two guards next to a food counter. “Help us out?” She asked and waved them over. They quickly nodded and jogged over to them, wasting no time. The front doors were soon pushed open and Yuuichirou and Shinoa were guarded through the crowd.
“Yuuichirou, any concert plans for the future?”
“What can we expect to come from you?”
“Are you with anyone?!”
“What are you going to be doing during your break?”
Shinoa cleared her voice and raised a hand, “All questions about Yuuichirou will be answered when he attends The Buzz on TV next week!” She called out, motioning for Yuuichirou to go in front of her.
Yuuichirou nodded and sped up, ducking his head down because of the bright lights. However he called out, “Thank you for coming out tonight! It’s good to be home!”
A sleek black car with tinted windows was parked next to the curve. Yuuichirou was just about to jog to it but Shinoa slapped his rear. “Last one there’s a rotten egg!”
“How old are you?!” Yuuichirou shouted and suddenly took of running. As they ran, both adults shouted at each other about how childish the other was acting. Of course, Shinoa’s response was sticking her tongue out. Yuuichirou, on the other hand, just began to whine and threw his head back.
Despite Shinoa’s head start he was able to beat her, and Yoichi, who expected their arrival, opened the backdoor for them even though he sat in the front set. Soon both Yuuichirou and Shinoa were diving into the back of the car.
“Move over!”
“I was here first, Shortie!”
“Why are you two like this?” Kimizuki asked from the driver’s seat, fingers drumming against the leather wheel. “Do you ever stop arguing?”
“No,” Both Yuuichirou and Shinoa spoke at the same time.
“We don't mind,” Yoichi said sweetly and buckled up again. “As long as it’s just for fun.”
Kimizuki scoffed, “Don't be sweet. We do mind. So no more fighting for the rest of the night.”
Something heavy hung in the air and made the whole car silent. The car began moving and no one said a thing. All eyes were glued on the car’s front window, but Yuuichirou suddenly spoke up.
“Your mom.”
Kimizuki almost slammed on the breaks.
“God, I’m gonna need a lot of alcohol to get through the night with you.” Kimizuki spoke slowly as he turned the corner, getting on the main road so they could avoid traffic on the way to the club.
Yuuichirou only shrugged and looked out the window. He never took offense to anyone’s comments, after all… Kimizuki was always like that. Another thing was that fame brought him thick-skin, so he also didn't give a flying fuck.
As he stared out the window, he traced the familiar buildings with his eyes. Yuuichirou’s breath was heavy and peaceful, very pleased with himself. He was home and he was happy. Yuuichirou was honestly excited to see Guren and playfully bicker with him again.
He missed his home, bed, family – but at the moment his hands shook with excitement. Yuuichirou was going to let loose at the club. It had been so long since he had done so. Sure, he partied a lot on tour with a few fucks here and there… but it all felt different when he was home.
“So, Yuu,” Yoichi turned to the side to face his friend. “Do you have any plans for what you’re gonna do on your little break?”
Yuuichirou thought for a moment. “No, I don't think so?” He was hesitant. “Kureto was talking to me about a few gigs I would have to play, but that's a couple weeks out so… I think I have some time to myself.”
“Are you going to travel at all?”
“Nah, think I'm just gonna take it easy. Of course I’m gonna go out though. But for the week I’m–”
Shinoa cut in, “Don't get too comfortable.”
“Huh? Why?”
The eyes belonging to the purple-haired girl flicked towards him, disbelief capturing her face. “Why?”
“Yeah…?” Yuuichirou purses his lips. “Am I missing something?”
All the performer could do was stare at Shinoa as she shook her head. She ran her delicate hands through her hair before bringing a leg up on the seat. Now facing Yuuichirou, she slammed her phone down next to her.
“Please tell me you remember how I mentioned that Kureto and I wanted to do something to get you more in the media.” Shinoa spoke with hesitation, and Yuuichirou nodded even though he only had a vague memory of her saying she talked to his boss.
Because damn, Mr. Hiragi, Kureto, Mr. Boss-man - however he was referred to - was scary as fuck. Any memory Yuuichirou had of him went running to avoid the chance of nightmares.
“Yeah?” Yuuichirou smacked his lips. “A little?”
Shinoa gapped. “What?” She narrowed her eyes. “Only ‘a little?’”
Yuuichirou scratched the back of his head, “Err, yeah? I’m not sure, alright?! You talk to me about a lot of stuff it’s hard to keep track of it all! The whole tour thing was keeping me busy, too!”
“I told you two weeks ago, Yuu-san!” Shinoa swung her purse forward to whack Yuuichirou with it. “Now this is gonna be surprising to you because of your goldfish memory.”
“H-Hey!”
Holding a finger up, Shinoa paused for a moment before continuing. “There was a contest. Does that ring a bell?” She took a deep breath when Yuuichirou shook his head as a ‘no.’
She continued, “We put ads in magazines and handed out some fliers at your shows? People submitted their names online for a chance to win something that involved you?”
“Still doesn’t ring a bell.” Yuuichirou shook his head, “What do you mean?”
“...We thought it would be a good way to get you more publicity. At this point, more is good. Especially since your tour just ended. And-”
“Shinoa,” Yuuichirou cut his friend off and leaned down, staring into her eyes. “What did you offer up? It had to be pretty big, right?”
Shinoa flashed an awkward smile. “Whaaa?” She blew a raspberry. “No- no. Nothing… too big.”
“But still fairly big?” Yuuichirou questioned hesitantly, something similar to anxiousness bubbling inside of him. “Shinoa…”
“Look, alright!” Shinoa stomped her foot down on the car’s floor and swayed nervously. “The reward was spending a week with you.”
“...Excuse me?”
“The name we selected!” Shinoa said desperately and leaned away. “They’d get to spend a week with you doing whatever you guys wanted.”
Yuuichirou sucked in a breath while tilting his head back, his eyes squeezed shut. He wasn’t quite sure if he was angry or confused… or overjoyed? Emotions mixed inside of him, and the quiet atmosphere in the car wasn’t helping him keep a level head. It was like everyone was waiting to see what he would do next.
“And…” Yuuichirou raised his hands to run them through his hair, giving his locks as slight pull as he did so. “When are they supposed to come over?”
“It’s Friday so…” Shinoa thought for a moment. “Two days from now.”
“On Monday?”
“Well, she is technically coming on Sunday night, but the whole thing with the press and her arrival won’t happen until Monday morning.”
“The press?” Yuuichirou ran a hand down his face. “You’re really going all out.” He was slightly put down.
“Indeed, we are. But it will all be worth it.”
“And you said ‘she.’” Yuuichirou turned and looked at Shinoa. “What’s her name?”
“Uhm… Akane Shindo, if I’m remembering correctly?” Shinoa said slowly, doubting herself.
Making an ‘o’ with his mouth, something finally clicked inside of Yuuichirou. “Right, and where will she be staying?”
“She’s in charge of finding her own place to sleep, so most likely a hotel. However, all the other expenses will be on us.” Shinoa reached over and suddenly whacked Yuuichirou on the head. “You don’t need to pout about it.”
Yuuichirou gasped. “I’m not pouting!”
“Oh-ho, you are,” Shinoa grinned.
“I think it could be fun, Yuu,” Yoichi cut in from the front seat once they pulled into the club’s parking lot. “I mean, what if she’s really nice.”
The music from the club was heavy and swirled through the air, making the hairs on Yuuichirou’s body rise. Licking his lips, the performer gave a reluctant nod. “Of course I’ll be nice to her, but a week is a lot.”
“Maybe it’ll be the best week of your life,” Shinoa retorted, kicking her door open. When the cold air hit all the bodies in the car they shivered. “Now get your ass inside and let’s party.”
Yuuichirou was hesitant to go inside. After all, he was a little upset with Shinoa. Yes, it was his fault that he forgot… or maybe just wasn’t paying attention… but he just wanted a break.
Now, for a week, he was going to have some fangirl cling to his side and tell him where to go. What other important events and competitions in his name was he missing out on?!
Yuuichirou just grumbled under his breath and nodded, opening his own door as well. “Alright, alright,” He gave in and got out of the car, fixing his appearance before nudging at Kimizuki’s shoulder. The two boys began to tussle for a bit until they reached the club’s entrance.
Neon lights flashed in the rapper’s face the whole night. Shots were drowned. Bodies were touching, grinding as hands roamed. Hearts were racing and hammering against everyone’s chest while sweat ran down their face. The smell of strawberries and sex lingered in the room.
And, at the end of the night, Yuuichirou left the club - with not one, but two girls by his side as he went home and crashed into his bed which squeaked for reason he would never admit.
.x.
Day One.
When Yuuichirou woke up on Monday morning, a mint, lace bra was resting over his face. However, his bed was cold - empty with no girl to be seen. Yuuichirou’s eyes fluttered open and his arm extended to the side where a body should have been, feeling around for something, anything to get in contact with Charlotte . In all honestly it was the best hookup he had in months and he was craving more.
Bingo.
When a he raised his hand, a yellow sticky note was attached to it with a number across the front. So, he brought it over and put it on his nightstand, hoping that he’d remember to put it in his phone when he got the chance.
Squinting his eyes, Yuuichirou raised his blankets and covered his face with the fabric. The bright sun that shone through the window only feet from his bed was deadly and warm, making his body heat up even through the blankets.
Nagoya’s weather had always confused him. In the summer it was warm in the mornings and freezing at night – so breath-chilling that you could wear a winter coat. Yuuichirou wanted to look up at the damn sky and yell, “ Make up your fucking mind is it hot or cold outside?!”
Thankfully the air conditioning in his mansion was kicking in and gave his room some circulation. Hopefully he wouldn't have to leave his house a lot that week–
No, that wasn't an option since Akane was coming over. He never forgot about the girl that was supposed to come over to spend the week with him. Actually it had been lingering in his mind all weekend, and by that he meant it was driving him insane.
Yuuichirou groaned, wishing he could get more rest. In hindsight, sleeping with so many people over the weekend shouldn't have seemed like a good plan. The playboy mentally slapped himself for his actions.
Did he regret it though? No, of course not.
His hair was disheveled, the undercut he sported no longer looking somewhat neat. Since his raven hair was naturally messy and unkempt, it began to show through. Yuuichirou’s hair looked like a fucking mohawk, and the fact that he didn’t know what time it was only added more stress to his plate.
Reluctantly throwing his legs off the side of the bed, Yuuichirou deemed that as a good start and took his time with sitting up. As he tried to get his body to cooperate with him and not be sore, he let out a loud groan.
“Fuck…” He cursed under his breath, suddenly using both hands to flip the blanket up and off his bed. Emerald eyes drifted around the bed in search of his phone, and he finally found it at the end of his bed - barely staying on. Yuuichirou quickly dove for it, the amount of missed text, calls, and emails on his screen making his eyes widen
He started with the first message that popped up, an email.
Yo, fucker. It’s your main girl, Shinoa (obviously).
You’re probably being a lazy ass because it’s Sunday (holla) but we’re all allowed to do that. Asshoe don’t forget that Akane Shindo is coming tomorrow to spend the week with you. And yes, before you ask, I did confirm her name.
So on Monday morning I need you to be at the door by ten because I’ll be arriving at like, ten-fifteen with some photographers and video peeps. Akane will be arriving in an UBER (we’re probably starting a turf war with the people who work for LIFT but LMFAOOOO) so just be ready to meet with her whenever she arrives.
PEACE OUT YA CRUSTY FUCK.
Shinoa <3

Shortie:
So i fell asleep while waiting for your lame ass. It’s 9:50, there has been a change of plans, but see you in twenty and if your dicc is out and on camera it’s not my fault boy bye
(9:50 am)
Yuuichirou’s head suddenly snapped to the side, his eyes finally locking in the electronic clock that rested on the nightstand next to his bed. 10:05 flashed on the screen and sent a wave of fear over his body.
There he was in bed, no clothes on, hair a mess, head pounding - and the press, along with some chick, were supposed to arrive at his house in… five minutes?
He was so, so, so screwed.
Yuuichirou leaped out of his bed in a matter of seconds, sprinting over to his walk in closet afterwards so he could toss on clothing. He stayed with the basics: A pair of black jeans with a plain navy blue sweatshirt before he jogged over to the bathroom. He pissed, combed his hair and floofed it… put gel in it, made sure none of the hairs stuck up so Shinoa wouldn’t tease him again...
Honestly he would have kept going with styling his hair if it wasn’t for the ring of the doorbell that suddenly echoed throughout his house. Yuuichirou pushed away from the counter and jogged out of the room, sliding down the stair’s railing to get to the door.
He slid across the hardwood floor and unlocked the door, swinging it open to reveal Shinoa.
“I fucking hate you,” She growled, stepping aside to reveal the mass amount of reporters and interviews charging his way. “You look like a mess.”
“I am a mess,” Yuuichirou agreed under his breath, forcing himself to smile at the wave of people. Media crowded him, shoving microphones in his face once they raised their cameras.
“How do you feel about this contest?”
“Are you excited to see the girl who’s arriving any minute?!”
“Yuuichirou, Yuuichirou! This way, smile!”
Turning his head to the side, Yuuichirou flashed a dazzling smile and licked his lips. He dragged the bottom lip back.
“I’m really grateful for my amazing manager, Shinoa, because without her none of this would be happening.” He commented, hearing Shinoa mumbled “ass-kisser” behind his back. “So yes, I’m really excited to meet her–”
“There has been a slight change of plans,” Shinoa whispered and pulled Yuuichirou back by his ear before he could finish his sentence. “She got sick.”
Yuuichirou’s face scrunched up in confusion. “What do you mean?”
“She got the flu a few hours before her plane took off. Akane was coming down from Sanguinem.”
“So then who is coming here?” Asked Yuuichirou, covering his face from the crowd. “Shinoa?”
“Her brothe–”
“Look! Look!” One of the reporters called out, turning towards Yuuichirou’s driveway and four car garage. “She’s arriving!”
A sleek black car pulled up, much like the one Yuuichirou rode in after his final concert. As it parked in his driveway, none of his own cars visible since they were on the garage, two bodyguards hopped out and pulled the doors open.
Cameras were raised and snapped photos while others were recording. Everyone was desperate to see the beautiful Akane Shindo–
Yet, she wasn't there. Instead, an attractive man, in Yuuichirou’s opinion, stepped out. He wore light blue jeans with black converse and a red shirt. His blonde hair was curly and the waves shimmered in the sunlight. Sharp, sapphire blue eyes glanced in his direction.
“Who…” Yuuichirou swallowed in awe. “Who is he?”
“Mikaela Shindo, Akane’s brother,” Shinoa said, taking a step forward as she got ready to attend to the press. She ran forward and went to Mikaela, throwing an arm around his shoulder.
“Excuse me everyone but there has been a slight change of plans!” She announced, pulling out some white sunglasses and putting them on. “This is Mikaela Shindo, Akane Shindo’s brother!”
She continued, slapping her hands together. “The original winner of this contest grew ill last night, but politely requested that her brother took her place!”
Pens scribbled down on the notepads, everyone at the scene desperate for more juicy information.
“So for this following week, Mikaela will be staying with Yuuichirou!” Shinoa announced and smiled, motioning to Mikaela.
“Hello, it’s really nice to be here,” Mikaela said politely and gave a small wave, flashing a gentle smile.
Shinoa grinned. “Any questions you have for them will be answered when the contest is over! For now, we’re going inside!” She yelled, motioning for the bodyguards to go forward.
The two large men reached into the car and grabbed all of Mikaela’s luggage, then began leading him down the pathway – towards Yuuichirou and the front door.
In a slight panic, Yuuichirou straightened himself out. Moving forward, he extended a hand towards Mikaela. “Yuuichirou Amane.”
Mikaela stopped walking, raising an eyebrow. “Mikaela Shindo,” He said, disbelief showing through his voice.
Green eyes locked with blue. Yuuichirou couldn't stop staring down at the shorter boy. Mikaela was truly handsome. He never wanted to look away. Yuuichirou couldn't stop his eyes from drifting up and down.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” Mikaela asked, breaking Yuuichirou’s train of thought. “Are you checking me out?”
Yuuichirou smirked, “What if I was?” He asked and leaned down, his lopsided smile still present.
Mikaela scoffed, “Really?” He questioned, rolling his eyes. “Listen,” Mikaela leaned forward and whispered into his ear. “The only reason I’m here is because my sister wanted me to come and take a picture with you. I've been working my ass off the last couple weeks and she said I needed a break.”
Yuuichirou blinked in confusion.
“I could care less about your fame. I've never heard any of your songs. I have no intention of sleeping with you either, Mr. Amane.” Mikaela said, taking a step back. He pulled his phone out from his pocket. “I realize you just got off your break, so how about this: I’ll leave you alone and enjoy my trip and you can go sleep with as many girls as you’d like.”
Yuuichirou stood there, hands clenched. Who did he think he was?! They just met and the blonde already had a problem with him. But what pissed him off more was that Mikaela raised his camera up and snapped a selfie of both of them.
“For my sister,” Mikaela explained, but Yuuichirou still felt bitter.
Yuuichirou waved his arms around, pushing his front door open. “Listen here,” He narrowed his eyes. “I haven't slept with anyone. That’s bullshit. I don't know what you think about me but I can guarantee any rumors about me are fake.”
“So you're denying that you flirt with anything that breathes and that you in fact did not sleep with anyone this whole weekend?” Asked Mikaela slowly, entertainment with the situation clear on his face.
“Yes, of course,” Yuuichirou said, nodding.
“Alright, everyone! I’ll escort you out the gates!” Shinoa called out from the side, leading the press away. However, all Yuuichirou could focus on was Mikaela.
There he stood – grin on his face, his attractive… attractive face. His plump, kissable lips were curved up and his eyes shone with mischief. Yuuichirou was losing his mind.
“Alright, you got me.” Mikaela threw his hands up in the air and took a step inside of Yuuichirou’s house. “So the lipstick mark on your cheek – you did that yourself?”
“Well, ye–”
Yuuichirou’s heart dropped and he froze.
“Shit.”
. . .
“Let me get this straight,” Shinoa pressed her hands together, but kept them raised over her face. “You don't want the deal?”
“If by ‘deal’ you mean I don't want to spend every passing second of this week with Yuuichirou, then yes?” Mikaela gave an awkward smile, currently sitting on the untarnished, white couch in Yuuichirou’s living room. Next to him we're a variety of different pillows – some fluffy while others were plain and had no design.
Above him hung a large lamp that gave the room a gentle glow, and a large flat screen TV was only feet away from his face. There was no denying the fact that Yuuichirou lived a lavish lifestyle, but at the same time his house was a mess.
There were socks everyone, glasses on the coffee table, crumbs here and there. Mikaela wouldn't be surprised if the green flakes on the white carpet weren't actually part of the design like Yuuichirou claimed they were. If they were mold he wouldn’t think twice about it.
“It’s cool ‘cause I don't want to be with him either,” Yuuichirou mumbled childishly, his feelings actually bruised a little. He sat on the same couch as Mikaela but on the opposite end, so he turned his back towards him and stuck his nose up in the air pridefully.
Shinoa paced for a second, clearly frustrated. “And why don’t you guys want to? You literally met fifteen minutes ago.”
Mikaela spoke, “I don't want him trying to get in my pants!”
At the same time, Yuuichirou said, “He’s a meanie.”
The immature comments from both boys made Shinoa groan and walked over to her purse, picking it up. “Sorry, but I’ve gone through so much trouble to make this happen.”
Yuuichirou crossed his arms over his chest while Mikaela pouted.
“I at least need you guys to spend today together. Just so the press can see you and take a few photos,” explained Shinoa, still annoyed.
Mikaela turned his head to the side, “But I don't wanna.”
Yuuichirou blew a raspberry. “You’re so immature,” He said and grinned, turning towards the blonde. “How old are you? Nine?”
“Twenty two!” Mikaela said with a gasp. “How dare you.”
“Oh, I dare.”
“Pleaseeeee,” Shinoa whined and held her hands up. “No fighting. You both are acting ridiculous,” She said, walking towards both of them. “Mikaela, you need to give him a chance–”
“You’re not in charge of me,” Mikaela grumbled.
“–And Yuu-san, taking the flirting down a notch.”
“I didn't do anything!” Yuuichirou exclaimed in disbelief.
Shinoa whacked the back of Yuuichirou’s head before turning to Mikaela, looking dead-serious. The playful expression that usually rested on her face was gone, and her eyes twinkled without the joy. She wasn't necessarily angry, but she wasn't happy either.
“You need to spend some time with him. After all, we’re paying for your trip.” Shinoa took a step back and reached into her purse. “I don't care what you two do, but it has to be something. Otherwise, Mikaela, we’ll send you home.”
There was silence for a moment once Mikaela’s head dropped in thought. Yuuichirou watched him carefully, a little confused on why it was taking him so long to think. He wasn't that bad of a person! He’d admit that he’s not perfect, but who is Mikaela to judge?
“Fine,” Mikaela suddenly nodded and looked up, turning his head towards Yuuichirou. “Be my guide for today?” He questioned.
Shinoa’s eyes drifted to Yuuichirou and a smile crept back into her face. However before she could talk, Yuuichirou responded.
“No.”
Shinoa dropped everything and raised her hands, mimicking the choking motion in Yuuichirou’s direction. “Say that again.”
Yuuichirou suddenly smiled sheepishly and scratched the back of his head. “What I meant to say was… No, how could I not? I mean, yes.” He said, relief rushing over him when Shinoa nodded and began walking towards the door.
“That's better.” The sound of her heels clicked against the floor – which happened to be marble in the living room. As marble faded to wood, she reached out and opened the front door. “No fighting, alright? Oh, and don't call me.”
Yuuichirou stood up and ran his hands down his pants. “Why?”
“Mitsuba just landed from her flight here,” Shinoa smirked, stepping outside. “We’re going to have some one-on-one time, if you know what I–”
“I don't even want to know,” Mikaela spoke up and covered his ears, but all Shinoa did was wink and salute before she closed the door behind her.
Now, the house was silent. The only noise drifting into the room was the hum which came from the air conditioner. Mikaela refused to look Yuuichirou’s way, for he could feel the raven’s hungry eyes on him.
Not knowing what to do or say, Mikaela just sat there and wrapped his arms around himself. He licked his chapped lips after crossing one of his legs over the other. Lifting his pale hand, he began fanning himself.
“Not used to the heat?” Asked Yuuichirou. Mikaela clearly looked out of place.
“Not really… Sanguinem doesn't get this warm,” Mikaela spoke slowly, his gaze raising. The sight of Yuuichirou standing there made his heart flutter – he didn't even know why. Yuuichirou wasn't even doing anything. “Though I heard it gets cold here at night?”
“Very.”
Mikaela nodded. “Maybe I’ll feel a little more in place then…”
“Maybe, but for now it’s hot as hell…” Yuuichirou smacked his lips before scratching the back of his head awkwardly. “So… Ice cream?”
“Excuse me?” Mikaela blinked in confusion.
Yuuichirou chuckled. “Do you want to get ice cream? It will cool you down.”
“Oh… right, right.” Mikaela shook his head, blushing in embarrassment. “Yeah, that sounds nice.”
“Cool, I’ll just get my car keys–”
“But first,” Mikaela held a hand up. “Ground rules?”
“Rules?”
“Yes.”
“I've never been too good with following rules,” Yuuichirou said, tilting his head to the side while an amused look lingered on his face. “But carry on.”
“First, no flirting,” Mikaela said and stood up as well.
“I got that,” Yuuichirou began walking to the kitchen. Once he was there he ran his hand against the cool countertop. “Anything else?”
“Hands to yourself.”
“Wasn’t gonna do anything anyway,” Yuuichirou chuckled, opening a drawer and pulling out the keys to his green Ferrari. “I’m all about consent, baby.”
“And no pet names either!” Mikaela was clearly flustered. He began shuffling around nervously. It didn't go unnoticed by Yuuichirou.
However, he nodded and put his arms up in surrender. “You won't get a peep from me,” He promised, rolling his sleeves up a little before grabbing his belongings. Yuuichirou quickly put them in his pockets and opened the garage door, which was conveniently next to the kitchen and back door. “Ready?”
Mikaela nodded and shuffled over the door, hesitantly walking inside the garage and gasping when he did so. Yuuichirou’s cars were fucking amazing. Though he didn't know much about cars in the first place he was sure that those he did would bust a nut if they saw Yuuichirou’s collection.
Mikaela wandered around for a bit, studying each car closely. Yuuichirou smirked as he watched Mikaela. “We’re going in the Ferrari”
Mikaela stayed silent.
“...Which one?”
“The Ferrari.”
Still, nothing.
“What color?”
Yuuichirou snorted and raised his hand, pointing. “The green one.”
Soon, Mikaela was able to figure it out. The blonde quickly ran to it and swung his door open, complaining about how hot it was in the garage once the wave of heat hit him. Yuuichirou did the same and practically leaped into the driver's seat, starting it to turn the AC on.
When cool air hit both boy’s faces, they sighed loudly and slouched back.
“Air conditioning is a blessing,” Mikaela said while he breathed heavily.
Yuuichirou nodded. “Tell me about it.” He then started the car and clicked the garage door button so it would open. Backing out, Yuuichirou was able to open his gate as well before driving down the empty road. His home was somewhat secluded, but in a few minutes they were able to merge into the open road.
As Yuuichirou drove, the faint sound of music drifting into his ears, he couldn’t help to notice Mikaela dreamily stare out the window. There was something magical lingering on his face.
“Is this your first time to Nagoya?” Yuuichirou questioned, turning a corner,
Mikaela nodded. “Yes, I really like it so far. It's pretty.”
“It really is.” Agreed Yuuichirou. “I’ve lived here my whole life…” He breathed out, glancing over to where Mikaela was sitting. Secretly hating the silence between them, he spoke up against. “So… what’s your job?”
“Huh?” Mikaela looked at Yuuichirou and smiled teasingly. “What is this, twenty questions?”
“Hey, I’m just curious.” Yuuichirou drew his focus back to the main road. “Would you rather sit in silence and travel around town with a stranger or talk a bit and get to know each other?”
“You have a good point…” Mikaela hummed and reached into his pocket, pulling out a hair tie. “I’m a yoga instructor.”
Yuuichirou tried his hardest to not laugh, but his cheeks turned red and puffed up.
Mikaela noticed and reached over to whack his arm though. “What’s so funny?!” He screamed, crossing his arms over his chest.
“You just… you don't seem like a yoga guy?” Yuuichirou spoke slowly and with ease. “It’s not bad though. As long as it makes you happy, then you should do it.”
Processing what Yuuichirou said, Mikaela stayed silent for a minute. “Wow…” He breathed out. “That actually wasn't a douchey thing to say.”
“Plus you must be super flexible in bed,” Yuuichirou added on as he parked, laughing loudly before hopping out of the car before Mikaela could protest. “We’re here!”
Looking around for a moment, Mikaela followed. However he was clearly confused since they weren't in front of an ice cream place at all. Instead they were in front of a park.
"I thought…”
“There’s an ice cream cart in the park,” Yuuichirou explained, walking around to the front of the car. “We just have to walk a bit, if you don't mind?”
“No, of course not…”
Yuuichirou extended a hand to Mikaela, but of course – it was slapped away. It wasn't a mean hit though, which surprised Yuuichirou. Mikaela wore a smile as he did so. At least he was enjoying himself.
Side by side, Yuuichirou and Mikaela walked down the path towards the center of the park. As they talked about literally everything, Yuuichirou’s eyes drifted down to watch Mikaela carefully.
They began with childhood, surprisingly. Yuuichirou started with the basics, and he found it very easy to talk to Mikaela. He told the blonde about his adoption and everything little thing in between. Once he did so, something seemed to shift between them. It was like something heavy was lifted.
The sun continued to shine down on them, not a single cloud giving them any shade. As Yuuichirou finished his story he shrugged, a cool breeze running over both of them.
Running a hand down his face, Yuuichirou sighed. He’d be lying if he said he hadn't teared up little bit. He always did when he talked about his family.
Maybe I’ll have time to see them this week, Yuuichirou thought with a nod before Mikaela spoke up.
"I’m sorry… That must have been difficult.” Mikaela said, raising a hand to rest it on Yuuichirou’s shoulder. He felt the raven flinch at first, but he eventually leaned in to the touch.
“It’s fine, they're all doing okay now…” Yuuichirou said softly. “I've… honestly thought about adopting them. But my life – what I do – I don't think it’d be good for them.”
“I think you should talk to them about it…” Mikaela said, head tilted to the side. “Who knows, they might really like the idea.”
“Yeah, yeah…” Yuuichirou smiled. “You’re right… Thank you – for listening to me. I've never really–”
“It's fine!” Mikaela cut him off, ice cream now in his sights. “We all have times… that are hard and feel impossible.” His voice dropped and Mikaela spoke softly, but before he could get to the frozen treat Yuuichirou pulled him back.
“Did you?” Yuuichirou suddenly asked, looking at Mikaela with a concerned face.
“W-What kind of a question is that?” Mikaela asked, shaking his head. “Look, let’s just go get–”
“Please,” Yuuichirou begged, staring into Mikaela’s eyes after leaning down a bit so they were face-to-face. “You know my story.”
Mikaela waved his arms around. “I-It’s nothing bad!” He groaned and tilted his head back. “Why are you so persistent with getting to know me?”
“Because we’re spending the day together,” Yuuichirou shrugged. “I want to know who I’m out with.” He winked.
“Don't say it like that!” Mikaela yelled and wrapped his arms around himself. Licking his lips and avoiding eye contact, Mikaela let his arms fall so he could pull on the edge of his shirt. “Buy me ice cream first…”
“That I can do.” Yuuichirou agreed and pulled Mikaela to the side, towards the ice cream cart. Arm thrown over Mikaela’s shoulder, Yuuichirou leaned over the cart and looked down at the flavors inside of the cool cart.
“Which one do you want?” Yuuichirou took out his wallet, pulling out a few pieces of cash.
“Strawberry!” Mikaela licked his lips. “It’s my–”
“Excuse me,” The ice cream worker cut Mikaela off and smiled nervously. “You’re Yuuichirou Amane… right?”
Yuuichirou tried to hold in his sigh of defeat. “Yes, I am.” He said and flashed a heart-stopping smile.
“M-May I please have your autograph?” The worker asked, and Mikaela watched at Yuuichirou nodded and reached over from behind the cart. A pen was placed in his hand and he quickly signed a scrap piece of paper. “The ice cream is free, don't worry!”
Mikaela rolled his eyes, but why deny free ice cream.
“What were you saying?” Yuuichirou asked, looking down at Mikaela with curiosity.
“Strawberry is my favorite,” Mikaela nodded.
Yuuichirou stuck his tongue out. “Chocolate is better.”
“In your dreams,” Mikaela laughed, reaching out to grab the cone from the worker. Making eye contact with Yuuichirou, Mikaela ran his tongue up the scoop up ice cream and swirled his tongue around the top.
The pink treat smeared over his lips and cooled him down, so Mikaela continued to lap at it. As he did so, he smirked. “See something you like?”
“Yes… I very much do,” Yuuichirou breathed heavily and grabbed his own cone, his voice in a slight growl. “You’re such a damn tease, I knew it.”
“I don't know what you’re talking about,” Mikaela said as he laughed, picking up his feet and doing a small skip. Both boys ate their ice cream for a bit before Yuuichirou broke the silence.
“So… you gonna tell me?”
“I don't get why you’re so determined to know more about me…” Mikaela bit into his cone and swallowed before talking again. “When I was young, my parents left. I wasn't alone though, I had my older and younger sister.”
“You have two sisters?”
Mikaela nodded and hummed. “Krul’s the oldest. She’s three years older than me. Akane is five years younger than me.” He explained. “It was hard to get by, but thankfully Krul was old enough to work.”
Yuuichirou frowned. He continued to eat his treat, but listened to Mikaela closely. The sound of birds chirping in the background seemed to lighten the rude.
“Krul earned money and went to school while I took care of the house, went to school, and worked. It’s… It’s nothing horrible but… I guess it’s still something…”
“Don't say that,” Yuuichirou said, reaching out to run a hand through Mikaela’s hair. “No one should have to do that.”
“Yeah…” Mikaela took another bite. “I don't know. We’re doing better but we all still work a lot, I barely get any breaks or time off. Especially since Akane wants to go to college. We have to get her through somehow.”
“I could help pay?”
Mikaela froze. “You… you don’t have to do that. I barely know you!” Turning around, Mikaela began walking backwards so he could face Yuuichirou. Though the mood was dark and heavy, he continued to smile.
“You're not a giant asshole.” Mikaela said after a while, shoving the rest of the cone into his mouth.
Yuuichirou snorted, laughing loudly. “Uhm, thank you?”
“It's just that,” Mikaela placed a hand over his mouth, covering his chewing. “I'm actually have a good time with you. But it is getting pretty deep.”
“Isn't it?” Yuuichirou agreed and licked the chocolate off his lips. “But it’s not bad.”
“Yeah… it’s not…” Mikaela spun on his heels and threw his arms up in the air. “Maybe we could… do it again sometime this week?”
Yuuichirou thought for a minute. Mikaela deserved more than just a day of fun on his vacation. Maybe he’d have fun without him, but Yuuichirou wanted to guarantee it.
Mikaela had barely brushed over his childhood story, and Yuuichirou could tell there was more to it. He didn't want to push him though.
However, Mikaela finally had a week off. He deserved to be spoiled and have the time of his life.
Yuuichirou was going to make sure that happened.
“No.”
Mikaela stopped walking. “No?”
“No,” Yuuichirou nodded. “Not just another day. This whole week. I’ll take you places and make sure you have the time of your life.” He said sternly, leaving no room for argument in his voice.
Mikaela shook his head though. “I couldn't ask you to do that though. I wouldn't want to intrude–”
“You won't be, it’s my pleasure.” Yuuichirou reached over and tucked a piece of hair behind Mikaela’s ear. “Okay?”
Mikaela paused for a moment, the tips of his ears burning in embarrassment. He too reached up, but instead of tucking a piece of hair behind Yuuichirou’s ear like he did to him, he placed his pale hand on Yuuichirou’s chest.
“.. Maybe.”
“HUH?”
.x.
Day two.
After arguing the whole car ride back to Yuuichirou’s house on the first day, the performer was able to convince Mikaela to spend another day with him. They spent the rest of the day together picking out what they would do, which proved to be very difficult considering Mikaela was a picky person. However, they eventually settled on ice skating
More specifically: ice skating at Guren and Shinya’s rink.
Mikaela was a bit hesitant to try ice skating though. He had never been the most balanced person, and his coordination needed some work too, but the passionate way Yuuichirou talked about the ice reeled him in.
So, when Mikaela stood outside of the hotel he stayed at and waiting for Yuuichirou to pick him up, his eyes were glued to his phone screen. His eyes hung a bit low since he stayed up late to watch ‘ice skating for beginners’ videos, and even in the morning he continued to watch them.
His black jeans were tight and gave him some warmth, and the yellow sweater he wore over a green shirt made him feel cozy. He felt like he was very prepared for getting on the ice.
However, when Yuuichirou rolled up in a white BMW to get him, wearing a tank top with black jeans (again) Mikaela questioned his fashion choices.
“Am I overdressed?” Mikaela asked Yuuichirou out of nowhere as they drove to the rink, panic covering his face.
Yuuichirou studied him closely, trying to figure out what was wrong. After a while, he laughed. “No, sweetheart. You’re fine.”
“Yuuichirou.”
“What?” Yuuichirou’s eyes snapped back to the rode.
“Pet names.”
Yuuichirou rolled his eyes, “Can't you just let it slide?”
Mikaela’s blue eyes were locked on Yuuichirou. He traced his jaw and features with his stare. His heart raced, his palms became sweaty, and his foot tapped from how anxious he felt.
“Just this once,” Mikaela said slowly, secretly wishing he would call him that again.
They sped along the highway, making a few turns here and there until they were finally at the skating rink. Mikaela was taken back by how cozy, yet innovated, it look. A part of him was dying to get on the ice since it was a new experience, but Mikaela was also terrified.
As Mikaela walked inside with Yuuichirou, he began expressing his fears.
“What if I fall?” The blonde asked and stuffed his hands in his coat’s pockets.
Yuuichirou took his wallet out, “Then you’ll get back up.”
“What if I don't get back up?” Mikaela’s hands began to shake, so Yuuichirou reached over and held them in his own. Staring down into sapphire eyes, Yuuichirou kept a straight face.
“Mikaela,” His voice was a bit stern, but overall sweet. “You will be fine. If anything happens I will carry you out and be your prince charming.”
Mikaela’s mouth dropped and he let out a small, silent scream. He stuttered for a moment, but when someone pulled Yuu backwards he stopped.
“Idiot, why didn't you tell us you were coming?!” Guren yelled from behind Yuuichirou, holding his son in a headlock. The oldest man ruffled the performer’s head before releasing him. “Just wait until Shinya see’s you're here.”
“Where is he?” Yuuichirou asked, grinning ear-to-ear.
“In the backroom cleaning the blades,” Guren said, turning to the side. “But he said he was going to come ou-”
“YUUICHIROU.” A silver haired man screamed from the doorway behind the front counter, dropping all the pairs of shoes in his arms. Yuuichirou watched as Shinya took off running towards him, soon wrapping him in a hug.
The tightness of the embrace made Yuuichirou wheeze, but it never died down because Guren wrapped his arms around both males too. They continued to hug in the middle of the lobby for some time, leaving Mikaela off to the side awkwardly.
The blonde found their little reunion heartwarming though. He hoped it would be the same when he returned home to Akane and Krul.
“Did you tell us you were coming over?” Shinya asked, cupping Yuuichirou’s face when they pulled away. “God, I missed you so much. I was going insane here with just Guren.”
Guren gasped, but Yuuichirou chuckled. He found that he and Shinya got along better, especially because when Yuuichirou was young they would play planks on Guren together. Both males would joke around alot and had no filter. That didn't mean Yuuichirou loved Guren any less though.
“I didn't say anything, I wanted it to be a surprise,” Yuuichirou explained. Stepping back, the performer revealed Mikaela and pulled him forward. “And I brought a friend.”
Both Guren and Shinya nodded, and before Mikaela knew what was happening he was pulled forward and embraced in a hug. Shinya ran two of his hands through Mikaela’s hair before pulling away. “You know you and your friends are always welcome.”
“Of course,” Yuuichirou said, then turned to Guren and smiled. “So, you guys are okay?”
“We’re busy since it’s summer, but it’s nothing we can't handle.” Guren placed a hand on his hip, looking at how much Yuuichirou had matured – now covered in tattoos as he sported a new hairstyle. “Wow, you’re old now.”
“Shut up, old man!” Yuuichirou yelled, pointing at his father. “Says you, you’re like… what? One hundred years old?” He asked, sticking his tongue out.
“At least I’m hot.”
“I’m fucking sexy.” Yuuichirou retorted and grinned.
Guren laughed loudly. “You look like you were that one member who was kicked out of a boy band and turned emo.”
Mikaela snorted and watched Yuuichirou run forward and tackle Guren down to the ground. Soon, Shinya began laughing too, and the mature adults stood above Guren and Yuuichirou as they wrestled on the ground.
Yuuichirou and Guren grunted and cursed each other out until Shinya dragged them away and whacked them both on the back of the head.
“You’re a horrible host, Yuu.” Shinya scolded him. “Now stop fighting with your dad and go with Mikaela.”
“Mika is fine,” Mikaela cut in, speaking to all of them… including Yuuichirou. “And it’s fine. I know you guys haven't seen each other in a long time.”
“Yuuichirou never brings attractive, nice people over,” Shinya said, causing Mikaela to blush darkly. “So this is an important day that will go down in history.”
Yuuichirou gasped. “I brought Shinoa, Mitsuba, Kimi, and Yoichi over here once!” He defended.
“Mitsuba is dating Shinoa, and Kimizuki is pinning for Yoichi.” Guren scoffed, “They weren't even in your league or interested.”
“Ugh,” Yuuichirou waved his family off and grabbed the sleeve of Mikaeal’a arm. “Let’s just go away from these losers.”
“Love you too,” Both Shinya and Guren said at the same time, watching Yuuichirou drag Mikaela to the front desk to get skates. Shinya made a heart with his hands while Guren mimicked giving a blowjob.
Typical.
“Let's just get skates, alright?” Yuuichirou suggested, making Mikaela sit down on a bench next to the counter. The performer made his way to the skates and studied the white shoes for a moment, suddenly picking out a pair and handing it to Mikaela. “Here.”
“Huh?” Mikaela reached out and grabbed them. “For me?”
“Yeah, I think they’ll for you.” Yuuichirou reached down and grabbed another pair of skates for himself. “Try them on?”
What confused Mikaela the most was that they seemed like the perfect fit, yet he never once mentioned his shoe size to Yuuichirou. Still, he untied his converse, threw them to the side, and slipped the skates on…
“How?” Mikaela blinked in disbelief. “How did you know my size?” He glanced over and looked at Yuuichirou, who was tightening his skates.
“Eh?” Yuuichirou suddenly realized what Mikaela was talking about. “Ohh… how I figured your size out?”
Mikaela nodded.
“I used to work here during the summer. Not a lot, but just when Guren and Shinya needed me too.” Explained Yuuichirou as he stood up, wobbling. “I worked behind the front counter and gave out shoe sizes.”
“So now you’re just able to tell people’s skate size?” Mikaela scoffed.
“Yup!” Yuuichirou said as he grinned. “I guess you could say it’s my hidden talent. My super power.”
Mikaela couldn't help a giggle from escaping his mouth. As the shoes became tighter and tighter, he began whining – and it only grew worse when Yuuichirou told him to stand up. The blonde tried but ended up falling over. Even though Yuuichirou wobbled too, he made it look easy.
“Come on, Mikaaa,” Yuuichirou pointed at the door that led into the rink. “Let’s go!”
“I would but I can't walk!” Mikaela, who was leaning up against a wall for support, yelled. “I give up, I can't do this.”
Yuuichirou reached over and grabbed his hand. “You can do it. Don't think negatively, you’ll set yourself up for failure.” He said softly, prying the blonde away from the wall. Once Mikaela was standing on his own, Yuuichirou began guiding him over to the rink’s entrance.
“It will be slippery and slick when you get on, but you’ll get used to it after a while.” Yuuichirou explained, watching Mikaela carefully put one foot on the ice… the another.
“Yuu-chan.”
Yuuichirou’s heart did a backflip when the nickname rolled off Mikaela’s tongue perfectly.
“Yes?”
“I can't move."
Yuuichirou snorted, reaching out and giving Mikaela a small push so he’d glide across the ice. The further Mikaela drifted away from Yuuichirou, the more he screamed.
“Ahhh! Stay close to me!” Mikaela begged. “I will fall.”
Now on the ice himself, Yuuichirou glided forward easily. “Your wish is my command,” He grinned. Resting a hand on Mikaela’s shoulder, Yuuichirou stayed close to him as they went around the outside of the rink.
Unfortunately, that didn't stop Mikaela from falling a few times. Though, Yuuichirou was always there to help pick him back up. They continued to go around the rink until Mikaela finally got the hang of it.
Mikaela could now glide forward with ease, but that seemed like that was it. If he turned, he would completely lose it. So, Mikaela stuck with skating next to the edge.
“I hope I’m not boring you,” Mikaela said, extending his arms out for balance.
“You're not, don't worry.” Yuuichirou placed his hands behind his back, a few pieces of ice over his arms from when Mikaela first fell and took Yuuichirou down with him . Little flakes covered the defined muscles on Yuuichirou’s arms and sent Mikaela into a trance.
“Really?”
“Yes, really.”
Mikaela hummed for a moment, deciding to speak up on something that had been in the back of his mind for a while. “Are you a good skater?”
There was a pause before Yuuichirou said, “A little.”
“What do you mean?” Questioned Mikaela, leaning forward to stop gliding across the ice.
“I know a few things…” Yuuichirou said modestly, puffing his cheeks up with air. “Nothing special.”
“Will you show me…?”
Yuuichirou laughed, “Show you what?” He asked, a rose color capturing his cheeks.
Mikaela raised his arms up as he shrugged. “Impress me,” He said with a grin, leaning up against the rink’s wall… and slipping a little. He attempted to play it off though.
“And if I do?” Yuuichirou asked. “If I impress you, then what happens?”
“Anything you’d like.” Mischief flickered in Mikaela’s eyes.
Dirty thoughts ran into Yuuichirou’s mind, but he tried to fight them away. No, no. He wasn't not going to screw things up with Mikaela, especially since he just got on his good side. When they first met Mikaela wanted nothing to do with him, but now they were on a nickname basis.
If Yuuichirou threw that away because of some petty thoughts he’d be insane.
Pushing backwards, Yuu glided across the ice – a little towards the center. He pushed all of his hair out of his face and came to a stop. Taking a deep breath, Yuuichirou rolled his shoulders.
“You have to come out with me again tomorrow,” Yuuichirou said. That’s what he really wanted. Mikaela’s company… was amazing.
“Deal,” Mikaela said… almost a little too quickly. He cleared his throat afterwards and fixed his shirt. “I mean… deal.”
With that, Yuuichirou instantly took off and picked up speed across the, taking off and doing a quad.
. . .
“THAT WAS UNBELIEVABLE!” Mikaela screamed and slammed his hands down on the table he was sitting at. His eyes shimmered with hope as he stared up at Yuuichirou, who was sitting across from him.
His pale hands were blue and he shook, but thankfully the heater in the lobby was warming him up. However that wasn't the only thing that was keeping him warm. The thought of Yuuichirou doing quads and lutz made him blush… for some reason.
At the moment, all Mikaela could do was shiver and stare up at Yuuichirou – who was sitting there triumphantly.
Yuuichirou smirked and raised one shoulder to do a small shrug, acting like it was nothing. “Well… it’s not that great.” He said, though he was quite aware that he had blown Mikaela’s mind. “I just practiced a lot when I was little.”
“It’s still amazing…” Mikaela said, resting his chin on the palm of his hand. His arms was propped up on the table and he leaned forward. “Is it hard?”
“Very,” Yuuichirou admitted, getting ready to stand up. “But for you, it’s a piece of cake.” He said, shooting a wink.
Yuuichirou scooted away from the table, put tapped it a bit before tilting his head towards the back room. “I'll be right back. Do you want something warm to drink?”
Mikaela took a deep breath. “Do you have hot chocolate?” He decided to ask after pondering the question, his sweet tooth getting the best of him.
“I think so? I’ll go check…” Yuuichirou said and spun around, socks slapping against the lobby’s carpet.
When he made his way into the back room he look to his sides, trying to locate Guren. And when he did find his father, who was scribbling notes down on a notepad towards the end of the room, Yuuichirou ran over to him.
The raven quickly jumped on his father’s back and laughed loudly when Guren screamed.
“Yuuichirou one, Guren zero.”
“The fuck are you counting?”
“How many times I can scare you,” Yuuichirou announced, climbing off Guren’s back and leaning to the side. “Also, old man, do we still have hot chocolate?”
“There might be some in that box,” Guren raised a hand and pointed to the right. “Check in there.”
“On it.”
Yuuichirou scooted over and squatted down, prying the dusty box open that looked as old as time.
“Damn, when was the last time you opened this?” He asked, referring to the box full of hot chocolates and teas. Thankfully, none of them were expired.
“Not since you left…” Guren mumbled, still staring at his son. “We’ve missed you.”
Yuuichirou froze. “I’ve missed you guys too,” He admitted, looking up. “It’s good to be back.”
As Yuuichirou began to rummage through the box, which seemed to be overrun with old packets of tea, he grumbled. Somewhere in there was a hot chocolate packet, and he was determined to find it for Mikaela – even if it was disgusting and sticky.
“So…” Guren broke the silence again. “Mikaela.”
Yuuichirou still had his head buried in the box. “Yeah?” He spoke up. “What about him?”
“How’d you guys meet?”
“Uhm, I met him yesterday actually. It’s this whole contest thing Shinoa set up for me and the company.”
“Do I want to know?” Guren sounded exhausted and confused. He never really understood Yuuichirou’s business.
Yuuichirou only laughed and shook his head. “Nah, probably of. He is really nice though.”
“He seems like a kind person,” Guren agreed, clicking his pen a few times. “So, when are you going to make a move?”
Yuuichirou almost choked.
“Excuse me?”
“Ask him out,” Guren paused. “I think the phrase is ‘tap that.’”
“Please, stop talking.” Yuuichirou begged, cringing from the words which left Guren’s mouth. “And no, I will not be doing anything… even if I want to."
“Why not?”
“...It’s complicated.”
“How so?”
“I don't think he likes me… like that,” Yuuichirou mumbled, feeling a bit of happiness from the victory he got – finally finding a pack of hot chocolate for Mikaela. He rose to his feet and spun around, facing his father. “Maybe I will make a move … one day.”
“And when will that be?” Guren asked, crossing his arms over his chest. “It’s good to wait, but I’m not asking you to ask him out or marry the damn boy.”
“Then what?”
Guren threw his head back, annoyed. “Flirt? I don't fucking know. But I see the way you look at him…” He said, walking forward and surprisingly putting a hand on Yuuichirou’s shoulder.
“I see the way he makes you laugh.”
“A lot of people make me laugh,” Yuuichirou turned his head to the side.
“Not like him,” Guren grabbed Yuu’s face. He forced his son to look him in the eye. “If you finally find someone, don't let them get away.”
Something sparked inside of Yuuichirou with that. He believed Guren wholeheartedly… but he was also scared. Scared of rejection, hate, anger. Yuuichirou had just gotten Mikaela to be his friend.
If they were to stay just friends forever, rather than nothing because Yuuichirou asked him out, then that would be okay.. Bevause Mikaela would still be there.
It was silly. He only knew Mikaela for a little more than a day but he was attached.
“Yeah,” Yuuichirou nodded. He pulled away and began walking out towards the lobby again, packet of hot chocolate in his hand. “We’ll see.”
.x.
Day Three.
“Yuu-chan, can we go shopping?” Mikaela had asked Yuuichirou, eyes lit like christmas lights. “I heard there’s a big mall in the center of town… can we check it out?”
How was Yuuichirou supposed to deny Mikaela when he was sporting a pout?!
Even though he didn't want to, since shopping was never really his thing, Yuuichirou gave Mikaela a ride to the mall. They currently were in a stuffed animal store , and all Yuuichirou could think was:
If I were to take off running now, how long would it take me to get home? I could leave the car with Mika and just run. Dear Lord please help me–
“Yuu-chan, look how cute it is!” Mikaela whined and waved the stuffed animal in front of his face.
Yuu’s eyes locked onto the snail stuffed animal which was in Mikaela’s hands. “But–” He tried to form a sentence. Of all things, why did Mikaela pick out a fucking snail?! “That's a snail.”
“Yes, it is.” Mikaela nodded, shoving it into Yuuichirou’s arms. “And I want it. Please?” He asked, fluttering his eyelashes as he jumped in place.
Mikaela was allowed to get whatever he wanted though, so Yuuichirou couldn't say ‘no.’ In one swift movement, the raven took his wallet out and took out the special credit card Shinoa had given him.
Shinoa told him and Mikaela, “There’s a shit ton of money on this so buy whatever the fuck you want. Treat yoselves.”
Yuuichirou was continuously trying to figure out what was going through Mikaela’s head at that moment. Because “treating yourself” was not buying a fucking snail stuffed animal.
Mikaela practically jumped around like a child as he waited in line with Yuuichirou – seeming like he was having the time of his life. However, he did complain a few times because of the camera flashes and occasionally requests for autographs Yuuichirou got.
...Maybe buying him the snail was a good idea.
Once the snail was purchased they strutted down the mall, weaving in and out of every shop Mikaela found interesting. But, when Mikaela tried to drag Yuuichirou into a candle store, that's when he drew the line.
“No,” He said sternly, feet planted on the ground. “No way.”
“Yuu-chan, pleaseeee!”
“That’s just too much.” Yuuichirou said and groaned, waving his arms around. “You’ll mess up my cred if I go in there, Mika!”
Mikaela giggled. “Your ‘cred’ will be fine, I promise.” He said, reaching out to grab Yuuichirou’s hand. Mikaela began pulling him to the side. “But no matter what your cred will stay intact with me.”
Happiness bubbled inside of him, Yuuichirou honestly didn't even know he was moving. So, Mikaela looked up to him? He had acted with him? Yuuichirou was important to him? Mikaela saw him some way?
Questions spun inside of Yuuichirou’s head, but the smell of candles snapped him out of it.
“I-I really don't think this is a good idea,” Yuuichirou said slowly. He now stood in the center of the store… and he wanted out.
“Why?” Mikaela spun around in a circle. “I need to get a candle for my home. Especially since Akane is sick. It will clear up the air.” He said, motioning for Yuuichirou to follow him.
“Help me pick one out?” The blonde asked, his voice sounding heavenly.
Yuuichirou felt his insides melt. “Of course,” He swallowed nervously.
Taking a step forward, Yuuichirou ran his fingers across the shelves of candles. The class containers on all of them felt so great under his touch. He wanted to buy all of them.
That.
That was why he never went into the candle store anymore.
“What about this one?” Mikaela asked, holding up a coconut scented candle. It's wax was white with a tint of blue. “It smells nice?” He said hesitantly, holding it up to Yuuichirou’s nose.
Yuuichirou inhaled slowly, his eyes dropping.
“No, it will be too sweet when you burn it.”
“How do you know?”
“I bough-” Yuuichirou cut himself off. Mikaela would never find out that he actually owned that candle – or that it was stored in a closet with all his ‘reject candles.’
“I just think there’s something better,” He changed the subject and scanned the room, suddenly grabbing Mikaela’s hand to drag him across the store. Tan hands reached out to grab an orange candle on a shelf.
“This.” Yuuichirou spoke with certainty.
Grabbing the candle from Yuuichirou, Mikaela snorted. “Caribbean dream?” He asked and continued to laugh, but Yuuichirou just stood there with one eyebrow raised.
Mikaela slowly took the top off, and when the smell hit his nose… his mouth dropped. It was perfectly sweet – not too overpowering but strong at the same time. As he continued to smell the candle though, a thought popped into his head.
“How did you know where to find this?” Mikaela asked, a sly smile on his face.
Yuuichirou’s eyes widened and he scratched the back of his head. “Uhm, lucky guess?!” He tried to brush it off and began panicking, snatching the candle from Mikaela before stomping over to the checkout line. “It doesn't matter.”
“I'm not dropping this.”
“I know you won't,” Yuuichirou admitted with a sigh. Handing the cashier the card and watching him swipe it. Delicately wrapping the candle in brown paper, the worker then put it in a paper bag and handed it to Mikaela.
“Come back soon!” They called out.
“Never again,” Yuuichirou grumbled. This time he was successfully able to drag Mikaela out of the store. Nothing could be worse than candle shopping.
“Where to now?” Yuuichirou asked, looking to his right. “Are you hungry yet?”
Mikaela shook his head. “No, not yet. But we can get something for you?” He suggested, beginning to walk towards where the food was. However, Mikaela suddenly stopped walking and turned towards Yuuichirou.
“...Can we go to one place before you eat though? It's on the way.”
Yuuichirou nodded, smiling ear-to-ear. “Yeah, of course.”
. . .
“No, no, no!” Yuuichirou whined, trying to run the opposite direction, but Mikaela wouldn't let him though and held onto the back of his shirt. “I'm not going in a damn shoe store.”
“Please!?” Mikaela said, running the opposite direction Yuuichirou was going in – towards the store. “I've heard really good things about this place.”
“It is a good place, but it’s not a place for me!” Yuuichirou yelled, hands extended toward a food place which was in his sights. “Please just let me go get waffles!”
“Not until you come with me! You’re my guide!” Mikaela suddenly pulled Yuuichirou forward and whispered in his ear. “If you come inside with me, I’ll make it worth your while.”
Yuuichirou almost busted his wad there.
Internally cursing at himself, Yuuichirou let Mikaela drag him away. He hated how Mikaela had that effect on him, but he loved it at the same time.
Fuck, was he that crazy for him?
The shoe store’s pink lighting shine down on both boy’s and gave them both a charming glow. When Mikaela finally turned and faced Yuuichirou, he couldn't peel his eyes away. It was the same for the raven.
“They have dressing rooms here,” Mikaela said slowly. “I’m going to grab one.”
Yuuichirou swallowed nervously. What was happening.
Mikaela ‘walked’ two fingers up the front of Yuuichirou’s chest, swaying his hips as he did so. “The store’s empty…”
“Uh-huh…” Yuuichirou’s voice was unsteady, not able to form a sentence.
“I'm gonna grab a pair of shoes. Count to twenty, then come back to the dressing room area.” Mikaela purred, then turned around and took off running – leaving Yuuichirou breathless and confused.
Onetwothreefourfivesixseven–
Maybe he cheated a few seconds, but he didn't care. Yuuichirou’s feet carried him back to the dressing rooms before his mind had time to process what was happening.
Once he was back there he called out, “Mikaela?”
It was quiet for a moment. “Yuu-chan?”
“W-What room are you in?”
The hallway was long and slim, which rooms on either side. There was also one on the very back, movement seen from under the door.
“I'm in the last one, just sit on the chair directly across from it!” Mikaela called out, the sound of a zipper going up making Yuuichirou’s knees wobble.
The raven’s eyes gave out and he dropped to the chair. His mind was going a mile a minute – Yuuichirou didn't know what was happening. Was Mikaela flirting with him? Did he have a chance? Was he supposed to return it?
What was Mikaela going to do..?
“Ready?” Mikaela called out from behind the door, anticipation building up inside of Yuuichirou.
“Yes.”
And with that, the door that separated him from Mikaela was swung open. Strutting out with thigh-high, black boots on which cupped him perfectly is what Mikaela did. Their eyes were locked as the blonde’s figure grew closer and closer and closer.
“Mikaela?” Yuuichirou’s face was bright red and his voice was airy.
Mikaela’s hips swung from side-to-side until he suddenly dropped down – doing a fucking squat only inches away from Yuuichirou.
The black boots cupped his thighs perfectly and made Mikaela’s ass look so perfectly round. Yuuichirou could feel his sanity leave his body.
“Do you like them?” Mikaela asked slowly, biting his bottom lip. “I picked them out for you.”
“I fucking–” Yuuichirou leaned over. “I fucking love them.” His hand went out when Mikaela rose from the ground. Yuuichirou desperately want to touch him, to feel him, to kiss him.
But suddenly, when his fingers were only inches away from Mikaela, a boot was pressed up against his chest.
“Sorry, Yuu-chan.” Mikaela smirked. “Not yet.”
.x.
Day four.
Much to Mikaela’s dismay, Yuuichirou never contacted him that day.
.x.
Day five.
During the night, when Mikaela was resting on his uncomfortable bed in the hotel – flipping through the stations on the TV – Yuuichirou contacted him and asked him to come over to his house.
Mikaela almost screamed when he got the text and jumped out of the bed, quickly throwing on a sweatshirt and leggings before he left the room. Sadly, since Yuuichirou’s home wasn't accessible from the bus route, he had to wait for a taxi.
When the yellow car arrived, he practically leaped into it and order the driver to take him to Yuuichirou’s home. Mikaela and the driver argued the whole way over because the man in the front seat insisted that he wouldn't be able to get in.
However, when they arrived and Mikaela typed in the password for Yuuichhrou’s gate and it opened, the driver was left awestruck.
Both middle fingers up, Mikaela stomped over to the house and shot the driver a wink. Skipping over the grass in the front yard, Mikaela fixed his hair before ringing the doorbell.
He took a moment to try to calm his breathing. After all, he didn't want to see too excited. Much to his surprise though, Yuuichirou answered with the same amount of enthusiasm.
“You came,” The raven breathed out happily, looking somewhat relieved.
Mikaela nodded, “Of course.” He said, swallowing. “Listen, about the last time we hung out… I-I’m sorry if I stepped over the line.”
Yuuichhrou’s face dropped. “Huh?”
“You know…” Mikaela looked down. “With the whole… boots thing.”
“Why do you think you crossed a line?”
“You just… you never texted me. So I-I just assumed you were upset with me…”
Yuuichirou watched Mikaela closely. He has the cutest pout, and even when he was upset his eyes shimmered… Yuuichurou didn't want him to be sad though.
A suddenly laugh escaped his lips, and Yuuichirou watched Mikaela’s head snap up.
“H-Huh?” Mikaela took a step back. “What's so funny?”
Yuuichirou reached over and grabbed Mikaela’s shoulders, pulling him forward and into the house. The raven couldn't stop himself from throwing his arms around Mikaela and holding him in a tight, warm hug.
“I went to the orphanage yesterday, so I didn't really have my phone on me.”
Mikaela’s face paled. “W-What?” He slowly raised a hand and covered his mouth. “I'm so sorry–”
“Don't be, you didn't do anything.” Yuuichirou pulled away and ran a hand through Mikaela’s hair. “I was hoping we could do something tonight to make up for yesterday?”
The sound of wind was the only thing that could be heard because of the silence.
“You fucking perv.”
“Not like that!” Yuuichirou gasped when Mikaela hit his arm.
“Then… what?” Mikaela asked, but something to his side caught his eye. Tilting his head to the side, Mikaela let his feet carry him towards the living room, which was… decorated.
White lights hung from the lamp and were pinned to the walls. The lights were dimmed and gave the room a peaceful glow, too. A bowl of popcorn sat on the center of the couch with bags of candy surrounding it.
But what caught Mikaela’s attention the most was the large amount of candles lit throughout the living room.
He couldn't contain his laughter when he saw it.
“Oh my–”
“No comment on the candles!” Yuuichirou broke in and pushed Mikaela down on the couch, grabbing the TV remote before joining him on the soft cushions. He quickly reached down and picked up a blanket on the ground, tossing it over both of them. Scooting closer, Yuuichirou picked up the bowl of popcorn along with the sweets.
“Care to watch a movie?” He said with a smirk, resting one of his arms over the back of the couch.
“Sounds like a plan,” Mikaela said with a grin, snatching a piece of chocolate from Yuuichhrou’s lap. He held the Kit Kat close to him like it was a treasure. “But I call dibs on this.
“It’s all yours,” Yuuichirou said and laughed, picking up the remote to begin to search for a movie. “Besides…” He mumbled. “Sour patch kids are better…”
Mikaela gasped, “You. Did not. Just say that.”
“Oh, I did.” Yuuichirou wiggled his eyebrows.
Mikaela aggressively tore a piece of the plastic off the Kit Kat, shoving a few pieces of the chocolate into his mouth. “If I wasn't enjoying myself with this delicious treat, I would whack you.”
“Oh wow, I’m so intimidated.” Yuuichirou teased, eyes glued on Mikaela’s mouth as he watched him take all the chocolate in–
“So,” Yuuichirou clapped his hands together. “What movie would you like to watch?”
“Can we watch something sweet?” Mikaela asked, and Yuuichirou nodded.
“Yeah, ‘course…” He said, beginning to scroll through the list of movies as Mikaela continued to eat his candy. And, once the Kit Kats were gone, Mikaela moved onto another piece.
Greedily eating the chocolate, Mikaela suddenly screamed and pointed at the TV. “There!”
Yuuichirou stopped scrolling down. “Where?”
“THERE.”
Yuuichirou sighed and turned towards Mikaela. “Could you be more specifically– hey! Are you eating all the candy?!” He screamed, eyes widening.
Mikaela chose to ignore him. “Go up two.”
Yuuichirou followed his instructions.
“Over one– Yes! That one!” Mikaela couldn't stop grinning and he bounced in place, excitement running through his veins. “Please?!”
“W-We,” Yuuichirou grabbed a pillow and slammed it against his face. “Why are you doing this to me?”
“I’M BEGGING YOU.”
“Mikaela, I refuse to watch a movie with a bunch of talking dogs.” Yuuichirou deadpanned, eyes dropping. “There's only so much I can handle.”
“Don't knock it until you try it!” Mikaela said, clearly offended.
“If you’ve already seen it then why do you want to watch it again?!” Asked Yuuichirou, looking around the room in confusion – like he missed something.
“Because it was a great movie and I want you to experience the journey, too.” Mikaela said, suddenly leaning to the side and resting his head up against Yuuichirou’s chest. He could hear the silent gasp Yuuichirou let out and laughed because of it.
Yuuichirou knew what Mikaela was doing, he was buttering him up. Everything he did was to make him blush and trick him into watching the movie. Yuuichirou wouldn't let that happen this time though. This time he was prepared-
“Please,” Mikaela spoke. His lips were pressed up against the soft skin on Yuu’s cheek.
Without a second thought, Yuuichirou raised his arm and pushed the ‘ok’ button, buying and playing the movie.
. . .
“No, no, no, no…” Yuuichirou brought the blanket up to cover his face. However, he was so caught up in the movie he couldn’t bare to look away. With now half of his face covered with the fuzzy blanket, he continued to stare at the screen with wide eyes.
He watched the dogs closely, tears prickling in his eyes because of the death of one of them. One, what the hell?! Yuuichirou thought this was a children's movie. Two… why was he crying?
He quickly wiped the tears from his face, hoping Mikaela didn’t hear the crack in his voice when he spoke. Yuuichirou knew the movie was ruining him, he just didn’t want to admit it. After all, he was the big spoon in the current position him and Mikaela we in. He had to seem tough… brave…
But that was just the thing, whenever he was with Mikaela he didn’t feel like that. The blonde brought out a sweet side of him that never came out with his previous lovers. They weren’t even dating, too! Oh but Yuuichirou was falling so, so hard.
He didn’t know if he hated or loved it.
The vast emotions he felt which swirled inside of him.
The longing, desire, and need he felt. Yes they had only known each other for a few days, but Yuuichirou was already feeling something for Mikaela. If they somehow… got together, Yuuichirou was sure he’d be able to love Mikaela. Then again, who couldn’t? The blonde was sweet, caring, feisty.
And now that Yuuichirou had him in his arms, he didn’t want him to leave.
Snapping out of his thoughts when a loud snore broke the silence, Yuuichirou’s head snapped down to Mikaela. He slightly leaned forward, gasping when a trail of saliva was on his shirt due to Mikaela’s apparent sleeping.
The blonde’s hair was tied back into a ponytail; however, the front was messy so a few of his bangs hung free and cupped his face perfectly. Heavenly blue eyes were hidden underneath the lid, and Yuuichirou desperately wished to see the color again. On the other hand, the blonde looked adorable when he was sleeping.
Mikaela’s plump lips were pushed out as he mumbled in his sleep. Yuuichirou then decided that he shouldn’t have to stay on the couch… also that he would not wake Mikaela up. He looked exhausted, it wouldn’t have been right of him.
Squirming out from under Mikaela, Yuuichirou then rose to his feet to brush himself off. Rolling his shoulders once, Yuuichirou then leaned down and scooped Mikaela up from off the couch, beginning to walk with him in his arms towards the stairs.
A few grunts escaped his mouth as he moved up the spiral staircase, but Yuuichirou didn’t mind since it was for Mikaela. Towards the top he readjusted his grip to make sure his companion wouldn’t fall, then continued to carry him back towards his own bed.
He sighed as he put Mikaela on the side he usually slept on, soon smiling because of how Mikaela felt around for blankets. Once he found them he pulled them up to cover himself, curling up underneath them as he smacked his lips.
Yuuichirou leaned down, hand running across the side of his face… He stayed there for a moment - Mikaela’s cheek in his hand. The blonde was warm, and Yuuichirou loved it. He’d want nothing more than to curl up next to him and cuddle.
He knew he had to clean up before he went to be though. So he reluctantly pulled away and shuffled out of the room, going back downstairs. If it was possible he was faster than before… that didn’t mean he didn’t stop a few times to finish the movie he was watching.
Could anyone blame him though? It was emotional and Yuuichirou was so caught up in it. It wasn’t healthy anymore.
Once all the dishes were away and the plastic was in the trash, Yuuichirou weakly climbed up the staircase. His feet were dragged against the floor as if they were filled with led, and Yuuichirou was just about to crash into bed when something caught his eyes.
Something was in Mikaela’s mouth, and he was chewing on it. The closer he got he squinted his eyes until-
“Shit!” Yuuichirou almost screamed when he saw his friend smacking on a condom which was left in his bed from his weekend activities. Thankfully it wasn’t open because when he first opened it, he had pierced it and quickly threw it to the side.
But still, it didn’t make the situation any better.
Reaching down with a shaky hand, Yuuichirou oh so carefully pulled the pink condom out of Mikaela’s mouth. Before it was all the way out though, Mikaela’s mouth closed and he bit down onto it. Yuuichirou wanted to cry.
“Why is this happening?” He asked himself under his breath, giving it one hard tug and accidentally letting go. Yuuichirou watched as it flung across the room, but for some reason he was a little relieved.
Completely exhausted, Yuuichirou thought to hell with it and flopped down on the bed. Face first on the comforter with his head buried in the pillow, all Yuuichirou could manage to do was tuck his feet under the covers before he let sleep take him.
Before he completely drifted off though, he felt a warm hand wrap around his own.
.x.
Day Six.
When Yuuichirou finally woke up, it was some time in the afternoon. It was okay though, considering that both Yuuichirou and Mikaela had passed out at the break of dawn. The only problem was that when Yuuichirou firsted peaked open his eyes as he laid on his side, Mikaela wasn’t in his sights.
Strangely though, the smell of pancakes drifted into his nose.
Shooting up straight in bed with a surge of energy, Yuuichirou let curiosity and enchantment get the best of him. He was light on his toes as he crept down the stairs, making sure to not make a sound until his suspicions were confirmed.
Happily, they were, and as Yuuichirou peaked down into the kitchen from the stairs he saw Mikaela flipping pancakes. Around his waist there was a pink apron, which Yuuichirou didn’t even know he owned, and as he moved around the kitchen he swayed his hips.
“You ain't gotta wait for it,” Mikaela sung out, tilting his head back. “You ain't gotta wait for me to give you my love.”
The sound of Mikaela’s soft, smooth voice made Yuuichirou’s mouth drop. Never had heard such a beautiful, rich voice before, nor did he expect Mikaela to posses it. Everything about the blonde was getting so much more appealing, Yuuichirou didn’t know how long he was going to last.
“When you gon' come for me, yeah.” Mikaela twrirled around, using his gooey spatula as a mic. “Never gonna not not hit that, your lovin' is drugs to me.”
Yuuichirou decided to move further down the stairs, he wanted to be close to Mikaela. The raven watched the other boy closely, not able to look away. Mikaela continued to sing out and dance, not aware of Yuuichirou’s presence - that is until he opened his mouth and began to harmonize with Mikaela.
“And every time you hit my phone, when you say you need company, oh.” Yuuichirou sang lower that Mikaela since his voice was naturally higher. When Mikaela blushed in embarrassment, not knowing what to do since Yuuichirou had caught him, he wrapped his arms around himself.
“I-I…” The blonde didn’t know what to stay. Mikaela stood there in shock, but Yuuichirou motioned for him to continue as he grinned.
“I'mma run up on you.” Yuuichirou sang from his stomach.
Letting out a shaky laugh, Mikaela ran a hand through his hair and sang with Yuuichirou. “I’mma run up on you…”
After Mikaela sang that line though, he reached to the side and picked up a pancake. It quickly left his hand as he threw it at Yuuichirou, who surprisingly caught it in his mouth and took a big bite out of it.
“Delicious,” Yuuichirou said. He grabbed the fluffy piece of bread and continued to eat it plain, not really caring if there was syrup on it or not. “Did you make these from scratch?"
Mikaela nodded happily. “Yeah, it’s a recipe I kinda came up with…” He said, pouring a bit of syrup into a small bowl. Turning the stove off before snatching a pancake off a plate, Mikaela then ripped a piece off and began dipping it into the syrup.
“What the hell are you doing?” Yuuichirou suddenly asked, his eyes narrowed. Mikaela raised an eyebrow at him and tried to follow where he was looking.
“What do you mean?” Mikaela asked, looking around, clearly confused.
“That-” Yuuichirou scoffed in disgust. “That’s not how you eat a pancake.”
“Oh, shut up!” Mikaela yelled as he rolled his eyes, this time ripping off a bigger piece of the pancake to dunk just to rile Yuuichirou up. “You can eat it however you want to.”
“Any way but that way,” Yuuichirou grumbled. The raven popped the last piece of the pancake into his mouth before walking around the counter to get another. As he did so, he “accidentally” brushed up against Mikaela - loving how plump his rear felt.
Mikaela didn’t seem to mind, or he just didn’t notice, for he continued to talk.
“So…” Mikaela began, drumming on the counter. “What are your plans for today?”
“Today?” Yuuichirou looked at the clock. It was almost fucking five at night. “Don’t you mean night? We pretty much just slept the whole day.”
Mikaela giggled, “That’s true.” He agreed, eyes drifting everywhere except Yuuichirou. “So… nothing?”
“What do you mean?”
“You’re not going to do anything?” the look on Yuuichirou’s face told Mikaela he had to keep going. “Like… clubbing? Dancing? Any concerts? Are you doing anything with friends?”
Yuuichirou nodded, thinking for a moment. He finally caught on with Mikaela. “Yeah…” He breathed out. “I’m actually hanging out with a friend tonight.”
Mikaela’s heart dropped. “Oh…”
“It’s you, idiot.” Yuuichirou said and walked forward, closing the distance between him and Mikaela. As he got closer he could practically feel joy radiating from the blonde. “So, is there anything you’d like to do on your last night?”
Mikaela sucked in, taking a deep, awkward breath. “Well, yeah…” He said, rocking back and forth on his feet. “I don’t think you’d want to though.”
“Just shoot,” Yuuichirou said, hopping up on the counter. “I really doubt I’ll hate what you have in mind.”
Yuuichirou watched Mikaela sway from side-to-side closely. It was quite obvious that the blonde was becoming shy, but why? They had done so much together, and even if Mikaela didn’t know it he chewed on a fucking condom in his sleep. There were still walls of embarrassment between them?
“I just,” Mikaela swallowed nervously. “I really want to use your pool… can we go swimming?”
Yuuichirou stared at him with awe.
Mikaela continued, “It just looks really big and magical. I know that’s silly to say but-” Mikaela suddenly gasped when Yuuichirou ran forward and threw him over his shoulder, then took of running.
The laughing which came from Mikaela was short and choppy because of how much Yuuichirou bounced when he ran. The raven turned corners and opened the screen door, taking off running outside and going to the large, clear, luminous pool.
Though the sun was still up but was barely there, and it began to disappear behind the clouds. For some reason, it was thankfully still warm. Yuuichirou began to believe even nature was on his side for winning Mikaela over.
As the came closer and closer to the pool, Yuuichirou picked up speed and suddenly put his arms on Mikaela. Using all his strength, Yuuichirou threw Mikaela up in the air - over the pool. The blonde screamed playfully and threw his arms and legs around, soon crashing into the radiant water.
There was a loud splash, but soon Mikaela rose to the surface.
“You ass!” He yelled, smiling brightly. Mikaela’s hair and clothing were now soaked, but he could care less. Swimming over to the edge of the pool, Mikaela began reaching for Yuuichirou’s leg to pull him in.
“Hold on a minute,” Yuuichirou said and grinned. He grabbed the bottom of his shirt and raised it over his head in one swift motion to take his shirt off. Mikaela’s mouth dropped at the sight.
His defined muscles, his tattoos, the shape and curves of his body. Blush snuck up on his cheeks, so Mikaela sunk deeper into the water to hide it.
Yuuichirou then took off running, jumping into the pool and splashing down next to Mikaela. A loud yell left Mikaela’s mouth when Yuuichirou wrapped his arms around him from below, so he began kicking his legs around.
“I got you,” Yuuichirou announced, leaning in close with a teasing smile. Much to his surprise though, he was suddenly pushed back against the pool's wall by Mikaela. Thankfully, his toes were able to reach the floor of the shallow part of the pool. Mikaela, not so much.
Raising his legs, Mikaela let out a shaky breath and wrapped them around Yuuichirou’s waist. He leaned forward, eyes hazy and breath heavy, before pushing his hair back.
“No,” Mikaela breathed out. He licked his lips. “I’ve got you…” He mumbled before leaning forward to connect their lips.
Yuuichirou’s eyes soon fluttered shut and he greedily leaned in for more, which Mikaela was more than happy to give. Yuuichirou swallowed Mikaela’s whimpers and moans until finally he turned around so Mikaela was pushed up against the pools wall. During the heated kiss, Mikaela’s hands traveled up and down Yuuichirou’s chest, using his fingers to trace each muscle and tattoo.
When the kiss broke, Yuuichirou latched onto Mikaela’s neck. When there was no protesting, he began to suck as hard as he could - leaving a dark, visible mark on the crook of Mikaela’s neck.
“Ah-ah…” Mikala panted, circling his hips. “Yuu-chan.”
“Can’t believe this is happening…” Yuuichirou admitted as he leaned back up. Both of their lips were swollen from the hungry kiss, but they were desperate for more. So, Yuuichirou leaned forward again, about their connect their lips until-
Flash.
A camera went off from their right. A perfect angle.
.x.
Day seven.
“So you just let him leave?” Shinoa asked, her mouth hanging low when Yuuichirou told her what had happened.
Everything was going well, according to Yuuichriou, until suddenly there was a camera flash. Unfortunately, one of the photographers from a gossip magazine had snuck in and snapped a photo of them - Yuuichirou pressing Mikaela up against the side of the pool with their lips locked and tongues tangled.
Right when realization settled in with both boys and they heard the scurrying of feet, Mikaela placed a hand on Yuuichirou’s chest to push him away. The blonde’s face was pale as he stuttered, swimming to the side. Mikaela had quickly wobbled up the pool’s stairs and rushed out, ignoring Yuuichirou’s protests and pleas to stay.
Mikaela refused to listen and only continued to run, leaving Yuuichirou alone in the pool. The performer had then slammed his hands down against the water in frustration while cursing as loud as he could.
Couldn’t he have just had one moment of peace and bliss? His body was craving Mikaela, yet the press had to ruin the moment and drive him away.
At the same time, Yuuichirou was reluctant to chase after Mikaela. He knew his life was chaotic, and he didn’t want to force it on his companion… or whatever they were now.
The next morning, the picture which was snapped without consent was floating around the internet and television channels. Each segment was titled somewhere near, Yuuichirou has found love?
Sexy, steamy nights in the pool with his lover?
Winner of the contest, Mikaela Shindo, has caught the eye of Yuuichirou Amane? But will it last?!
It drove Yuuichirou insane, especially since he had been so lenient with the crowds all week as he spent time with Mikaela. He had every right to be infuriated… frustrated… overwhelmed.
And fucking hell, Yuuichirou just wanted to hold Mikaela close again. Feel the blonde’s soft lips against his own as moans poured from his mouth and into his own. Yuuichirou wanted to taste Mikaela, feel him. He craved him so much.
“Yes,” Yuuichirou answered Shinoa’s question and gave a small nod. “Chasing after him didn’t… seem right.”
“But letting him leave seemed like a good idea?” Screamed Shinoa, rising to her feet in frustration.
Yuuichirou paused.
“...Yes?”
“God, you’re such an idiot.” Shinoa grumbled. “A hopeless idiot who has a crush.”
Yuuichirou’s eyebrows raised and he turned his head to the side. “You should have seen the look on his face though. He looked… shocked?”
“Of course he did, someone took a picture of you guys when you were sucking each other’s faces off.”
“But still!” Yuuichirou’s hands flew to his hair, giving his dark locks a slight pull. “He looked scared.”
Shinoa nodded. She couldn't argue with that. After all, she too was involved with a life full of gossip and fame - she knew it could be a lot. Though, through all the twists and turns thrown at Yuuichirou, Shinoa had never seen her friend so down.
Reaching out hesitantly, Shinoa rested a hand on Yuuichirou’s shoulder.
“You look scared, too.” She said softly, taking a seat on the couch right next to Yuuichirou. “Something else is on your mind..?”
“Well, yeah.” Yuuichirou turned his body away from Shinoa. “I just lost Mika.”
“But there’s something else,” said Shinoa. “Come on, Yuu-san-”
“Look, I’m… I’m just…” When Yuuichirou finally turned towards Shinoa, tears were in his eyes. “He’s leaving today.”
“Yes, I’m aware…” Shinoa glanced down at her phone to check the time. “His flight leaves in an hour.”
“Yeah…. yeah, so…” Yuuichirou grit his teeth. “What if I just lost him forever?”
“Forever’s a long time,” Shinoa commented. Her eyes closed as she tilted her head to the side.
“He’s fucking gone, Shinoa!” Yuuichirou yelled, standing up. “All he wanted was a break from work! He has two sisters and helps put them through college for fucks sake.”
“Yuu-”
“And then me,” Yuuichirou scoffed. “Enter me. Flirty asshole who somehow - somehow convinced him to come along with me this whole week.” He began shaking his head. “And yeah, it might have been the best fucking week of my life, but I’m not good for him.”
“How can you say that?” Questioned Shinoa, rising to her feet. “Use your head for one minute! He dropped everything just to spend time with you, isn’t that something?!”
“But now he’s gone,” Yuuichirou grit out. “His trip was ruined because of the chaos. He never wanted any of this.”
“But he sure as hell wanted you.”
Yuuichirou’s mouth shut and he stared down at Shinoa.
“I don’t think-”
Shinoa cut him off. “Just look at the picture of you two. You’re close, he’s smiling - looking like the happiest man in the world in your arms.” She spoke slowly. "Do you really think he’d do that with someone he hated?”
“No, but-”
“Secondly, he spend the whole damn week with you.” Shinoa sighed in exasperation. “So I will ask again: Do you really think he’d do that with someone he hated?”
Yuuichirou’s head dropped at Shinoa words, hands clenched by his sides. A loud sigh escaped his mouth and he kicked his foot at the carpet underneath his feet.
“I really fucked up, didn’t I?” He questioned with hesitation and meekness.
“No,” Shinoa admitted. “But you will if you seriously let him go so easily.”
“What do I do?”
“Go to his gate, duh.” Shinoa grinned and whacked Yuuichirou on the back of the head. “Be that one cheesy fucker in the airport who runs up to their lover and picks them up in their arms.”
“But what if he doesn’t want to see me?” Yuuichirou’s voice was shaky and unsteady.
“Then you can’t do anything about it, but you still tried.” Shinoa raised her arm and pointed at the door. “Now go.”
It took a moment for Yuuichirou to process what was happening, but once Shinoa’s words sunk in he lept off his feet. Grabbing his keys from a kitchen drawer - grunting in pain because of the accidental collision he made with the side of the counter - Yuuichirou took off running into the garage.
Knowing that the ride on his motorcycle would be much quicker, he threw his leg over the sleek, black bike. Carelessly resting his helmet on his head, Yuuichirou ignited the bike and turned, opening the garage door before speeding down his hill and out the gates.
He turned on the main road, the drive already feeling terribly long. Yuuichirou never felt more anxious even though the ride to the airport wasn’t very long. His head just swarmed with doubts and confusion.
What if he didn’t get there in time? Or if he missed Mikaela’s flight.
“Gah,” Yuuichirou shook his head and tried to stay focused. His bike, which was stopped and slanted because of the red light in front of him, let out a loud purr. When the light turned green, he sped forward. Swerving behind cars and driving towards the side of the road, Yuuichirou got there in a record breaking time because of his… dangerous approach.
It was worth it if it meant getting to Mikaela.
As he ran inside the airport, he was breathless. Yuuichirou refused to let that stop him though. So he ran to the front desk and slammed his hands down on the counter, the lady behind it jumping because of the abrupt sound.
“E-Excuse me?” Yuuichirou panted.
The woman blinked in confusion. “Yes?”
“I’m looking for someone, Mikaela Shindo. He’s flying to Sanguinem and should be at his gate now.” Yuuichirou explained. “Can you call the gate he is leaving from and ask if I can talk to him?”
“Through the phone?” The woman asked in disbelief. “Sir, I can’t just-”
“Please, it would really mean a lot.” Yuuichirou begged. “I can’t let him get away. Not again.”
The woman looked hesitant - her face crooked with an awkward smile. Her long nails tapped against her desk as she thought.
“I’ll see what I can do,” She said. The woman sucked in and turned her attention to the computer to pull up flight information.
As she did so, Yuuichriou’s foot tapped against the floor impatiently. Each moment that was passing, Mikaela was getting further away. Yuuichirou couldn’t bare the thought of that.
“Yes? Yes, hello…” A phone was pressed up against the woman’s face. “There’s a, uh-” Turning towards Yuuichirou, the woman silently asked for his name.
“Yuuichirou Amane.”
“Yuuichirou Amane?!” The woman finally realized who she was talking to and let out a surprised gasped. “Y-Yes, yes. Well, he’s requesting to talk to a Mikaela Shindo. Yes… Yes… Can you call him up? Thank you…”
The woman handed Yuuichirou the phone with a shaking hand.
“Hello?” Yuuichirou breathed into the phone, his hands clenced around the device. “Mikaela?”
It took a few moments before a voice finally came through. “Yuu-chan?”
“Yes! Yes, Mikaela please.” Yuuichirou’s breathing picked up. “Please listen. I’m so sorry about what happened last night. I should have been more careful.” He shuffled around in place. “Just please don’t go. I don’t want you to.”
“But Yuu-chan.” Mikaela took a deep breath. “I have to go home.”
“I’ll pay for you to stay more.” Yuuichirou was pleading at this point.
“Akane and Krul need some more money-”
“I’ll transfer you some,” Yuuichirou nodded. “Please, Mika. I won’t leave you leave again.”
“I don't-” Mikaela took a deep breath. “I’m just confused. Why did someone take our picture… I just… This is all crazy.”
“I understand that, but please-”
“I told myself I wouldn’t give in. And yet I kissed you, or I let you kiss me.. This is all just a mistake.” Mikaela’s voice cracked and Yuuichirou’s heart dropped.
“Do you…” Yuuichirou looked down. “Do you regret kissing me?” He asked slowly.
“No,” Mikaela breathed out. “No, I don’t. And… I’m confused.”
“Why?”
“Because you’re you. I’m me. You’re fucking famous and I’m from a small town that I’m pretty sure nobody knows about.” Mikaela exclaimed through the phone. “But yet I’m on the cover of magazines now - people claiming I’m your secret lover.”
Yuuichirou pushed a hand into one of his pant’s pocket. “I promise I’ll try to clear everything up.” His voice was quiet and full of disappointment. “I-”
“But here’s the thing…” Mikaela sniffled his nose. “I want the accusations to be true.”
“...What?” Yuuichirou felt a spark of hope.
“I don’t know…” Mikaela clicked his tongue, suddenly speaking up after some time of silence. “Come to the front, near security.”
“Huh?” Yuuichirou looked around for a moment. “Mika-”
“I’m going to be there in two minutes, if you’re not there then I’m going back,” Mikaela announced. The line was soon cut off, probably because Mikaela slammed the phone down in its holder.
“The security section is to the left, right?” Yuuichirou asked as he handed the phone back to the lady at the front desk. “With the huge glass section which keeps people out?”
The woman blinked in confusion. “If you mean the glass that separates the gates from check in stations, then yes..?”
“Thank you,” Yuuichirou said as he nodded, suddenly taking off into a sprint again. Seconds passed, minutes too, so Yuuichirou didn’t stop running. He knew that if he didn’t meet Mikaela at the location before time ran out the blonde would leave him. Mikaela was just stubborn like that.
The glass was in his sights. Yuuichirou’s heart was pounding and he could hear the echo in his ears. His palms were sweating, his mind was racing, and he refused to stop moving regardless of how sore his body was.
His shoes slapped against the airport’s carpet as he rushed over to Mikaela.
Their was a glass wall - or a meeting section. Even though he wasn’t sure what it was, Yuuichirou knew it’s purpose. It was a place where families could send each other off.
On one side, there was the end of security - where Mikaela was. On Yuuichirou’s side it was the check in station. It perfectly divided the airport but still allowed communication. The only way to get through to Mikaela side was to buy a ticket and go through security, but Yuuichirou didn’t have time for that. Mikaela’s flight was leaving soon.
Mikaela had his arms crossed over his chest as he tapped his foot down on the ground. When Yuuichirou finally reached the glass window, he was breathing heavily so he had to bend over. Mikaela’s expression didn’t change.
“You’re ten seconds late,” Mikaela said. His voice was somewhat muffled because of the glass between them and the crowd’s volume.
“I can here as fast as I could, babe,” Yuuichirou said in an apologetic tone.
When Yuuichirou raised his head, him and Mikaela’s gaze locked. He watched as Mikaela’s gaze softened as he reached up and placed a hand up against the glass.
“Thank you for coming,” Mikaela said as he looked up at Yuuichirou. “It means a lot.”
Yuuichirou nodded. “It’s my pleasure.”
The tension was suddenly broken when Mikaela continued to talk. “You don't hate me.” He said as if it were a realization. “I figured that you wouldn’t come if you were hurt by what I said over the phone but… You still did...”
“I will always come back,” said Yuuichirou sternly.
“You’ve only known me for a week and yet,” Mikaela forced a laugh. “You treat me like I’m so important.”
“You are important!” Yuuichirou placed a hand on the glass, over Mikaela’s. “You’re beautiful and funny and kind-”
“Yuu-chan…”
“-Please, I really don’t want you to go,” He begged. “I’m sorry for what happened.”
Mikaela swallowed nervously. “I-I just don’t think I’m cut out for your lifestyle.” He said. “I can’t even handle one photo.”
“What about it scares you…?” Yuuichirou asked, eyes flicking to the side where there was an opening. However, a security guard was in it’s way to block outsiders from coming in.
“I don’t know… hate? Rejection?” Mikaela shivered. “I’ve never been good in the spotlight.”
“I know, it’s hard.”
“You’re good at it though…” Mikaela threw his head back. “I don’t just want to be seen as just another fling.”
“I won’t let anyone see you like that.” Yuuichirou promised. “I would never let you go and people would see hat it was more than that… if you stay.”
Mikaela shuffled around nervously. “But what if they don’t-”
“Then I’ll drop it all.” Yuuichirou pulled his hand off the glass and took a step to the side. “I’ll stop performing so the press will go away. Mikaela, I’ve never felt like this for anyone else."
“You’d end your career just for me?” Mikaela’s eyes watered and he walked to the side, too. “You’re such an idiot.”
“A idiot with a crush on you.” Yuuichirou smiled.
“I would never let you do that though - stop performing.”
“And why not?”
Mikaela raised his phone up and let the screen light up. Yuuichirou’s lips flicked up into a smile when he saw Mikaela was listening to one of his songs.
“I started listening to you… you’re really good… talented.” Mikaela admitted, “You should continue… forever.”
“I’m not doing anything unless you're by my side.” They were growing close to the glass’ end. “I need to be with you, kiss you, hold you.”
“Even though I get scared over silly things?” Mikaela asked, dragging his hand across the glass.
“They’re not silly.” Yuuichirou shook his head. “I’m scared of them, too. I’m scared of what people will say,” He said as he licked his lips. “But I know that as long as I have you I’ll be okay."
Mikaela’s voice fell to a whisper. “You shouldn’t do this for me.”
“But I want to,” Yuuichirou said with determination. “I want to be with you.”
“I want to be with you, too.” Mikaela came to a stop when the glass came to an end. The only thing which stood between him and Yuuichirou now was a security guard who was playing games on their phone carelessly.
“I know it’s soon, but listen. No matter what happens, I’ll be here for you and one day I know I can come to love you.” Yuuichirou took a step forward.
Mikaela blushed, watching Yuuichirou come closer. When he felt a warm pair of hands on his waist he shivered. Mikaela’s legs soon felt weak and he leaned into Yuuichirou’s touch. Their bodies locked together like a missing piece in a puzzle.
“I’m crazy for you,” Yuuichirou breathed out.
“I told myself I wouldn’t fall for you, but now here we are…” Mikaela leaned forward and placed his head on Yuuichirou’s chest. “Flirty playboy,” He jeered with a smile.
“Stubborn blonde,” Yuuichirou shot back. “So will you…?”
“Will I what?” Mikaela pulled away and looked up.
Yuuichirou narrowed his eyes, “Don’t make me say it again.”
“But I like when you say it.”
After mumbling something along the lines of “no fair” under his breath, Yuuichirou closed his eyes.
“Please stay.” He said slowly. “Stay with me and be my boyfriend. I’ll take you places, kiss you, spoil you until you’re knee-deep in gifts. Please just… stay and be mine?”
The sound of a plane landing was in the background, but all the two boys could focus on was each other. The security guard was now staring at them like they were fucking insane, too. They refused to move though since both of them were quite comfortable and contempt.
After brushing his hair to the side, Mikaela’s sapphire eyes looked up at Yuuichirou’s face. Finally, instead of saying ‘maybe’ or some other remark, he spoke up and said..
“Yes.”
