Blanket permission statement
This seems to be getting more and more of a thing, so I'll add this as well:
If you want to create something based on any of my works here or on Ao3, like a fanfic based on or inspired by it, or fan art, or you want to do a translation or a dramatic reading ("podfic") or whatever, that's awesome, please feel free to do so! You don't have to ask me for permission, but you can if you want to. Feel free to ask questions about my works if you have any.
In the new work, please provide credit, ideally with a link to the original (here on Ao3 best with the "related work" feature), if possible. I'd also really appreciate it if you could let me know about the new thing somehow so that I can enjoy it and promote it! For example, leave a comment on the work here, use the "related work" feature, or send me a message on Tumblr.
If you're specifically transforming the literal text, for example in the form of a translation or an audio fic for iPods ("podfic"), and you want to change something about how I wrote, e.g. use a character's english name instead of the original french one, or change the ending so that everyone dies, please let your audience know that you made such changes, just to avoid any confusion.
And yes, I really do think the term "podfic" is silly, but don't let that stop you.
