Summary
A world in which Garlemald has fallen. Eorzea has taken over as a regent state, assisting as the other country's government falls apart and providing the necessary supplies to maintain the people there. In return, Garlemald must show a measure of recompense in return for the lifesaving supplies and assistance restructuring their country after the near-wholesale disintegration of their government.
One common practice is to take (or send) personal attendants to serve important leaders of the reigning country. This can turn out to be anything from a leisurely vacation to near-total control, as the attendant likely has little support in their new home. In this case, Eorzea has taken an aide for their champion, and Jullus pyr Norbanus has been selected to fulfill the role.

So when a little excursion at her friends' behest reveals some hidden truths about her past, she jumps at the chance to learn more — and does her best to ignore how all this makes her feel. Because nobody else should have to carry the burden she does. That's what she's for.
(The Warrior of Light sacrifices everything, even her own well-being and comfort, for the people around her. I thought that was interesting, so I wrote a story where that character trait is a maladaptive coping mechanism that drives her to hide practically everything about herself, despite everyone around her really wishing she'd open up to them.)

This story follows the Hrothgar monk Panda as a fleeting moment of hard-won peace at Camp Broken Glass is violently shattered by the Ascian Fandaniel, who abducts her and delivers her into the clutches of her ultimate stalker, Zenos yae Galvus. Imprisoned deep within the ominous obsidian walls of the Tower of Babil, Panda is subjected to a brutal, violation of her bodily autonomy as Zenos relentlessly uses physical intimacy to stoke her hatred and break her warrior's spirit.
