As I write this, I pray that you won’t worry for my safety. I do not delude myself; I have not yet dismissed the notion that this stranger may be dangerous. But I would hope you know that I am more than capable of defending myself, should his motivations begin to come into question. However, I think you will understand my reasoning. I may be far less sociable than either you or your mother, but I do not consider myself to be a poor judge of character.
And there's just something about this man that is far too intriguing to ignore.

There are moments, like tonight, when Dottore gazes down at the lifeless automaton on his table and needs to sink his hands deep into it’s chest: to feel it’s gears and branches and what separates his fragile and imperfect and so woefully human life from this thing’s beautiful mechanical one. And he allows himself this indulgence – it is a rare treat, after all. What harm is there to occasionally allow oneself to be swallowed by their own hubris?
