Chapter Text
Two people sit on a beach. It’s the same old story. The waves crash and pull and they push, and the boy speaks first. The boy took her out to the edge of the beach, after everyone fell asleep in the living room like they were afraid of leaving each other’s sight. Most of them still dressed in their formal wear, asleep like kids at their first sleepover. Seeing her still awake, holding a cup of tea, the boy asked her to take a walk with him.
Bleary eyed, feeling older than they’ve ever felt before and still being the youngest they’ve ever be again, they walk in silence. When he sits, she follows suit. It feels like she’s always following his lead, but she doesn’t know that he’s just toddling after her, that he can’t go anywhere without her.
Two people on a beach, and then his hand grazes her cheek. Maybe it isn’t the best first kiss in all of history, but it’s their first kiss, and it’s the one that means the most to them. Summer isn’t over yet, their story is far from a conclusion, and then again, we all know, it’s the same old story.
Boy loves girl; girl loves boy.
The waves keep crashing.
