Chapter Text
“Talk with your mother,” he grabs Midoriya's arm. “She misses you,” he tries.
“I-”
“I can give up, give her to you- if that is going to make you listen to her and reconcile with her, I can do it, just if she can be happy with you again, I'll cut everything out of school I have with Inko,” he said quickly, Midoriya was ready to go running.
“Why?”
“Because she loves you? Because you have been with her more than I have? Because you love her but you are childish and irrational to understand? Oh, maybe because I know we were the irrationals, but it doesn't matter, no wouldn't matter.”
“Sensei-”
“Inko is hurt and feels regret so I need you to talk to her-”
“Aizawa-sensei!”
Was he rambling? Oh, he probably has it before, but all this time with Inko and Hisashi probably infected him.
“Yes, kiddo?”
“We'll talk later”
“What-”
“We can talk later,” Midoriya spoke slowly. “I have to run, so... Maybe later?”
Shouta nods.
He watches the kid go out, meeting with Iida and running away.
He falls onto the couch.
“Sensei? Are you feeling bad?” he looks up at Jirou.
“I feel like a... I don't even have a reference now,”
“Mm, what happened?”
“Yes, you look like a sad puppy,” Kaminari's voice said by Shouta's left.
“I don't like dogs,” he sighed. “I'm the son one mother had before her second baby... She gave me to someone else, and when she found it, her younger kid wants to kill her older kid,”
Jirou laughed.
“What are you-?” Kaminari tried to talk.
“I bet the younger kid has more than five plans to destroy you,” He felt her crunching next to him.
“I know... I just want them to be happy again? Or not to hate his mom... I can take it, the hate, but not her,” he whispered.
“Mm, I heard it...”
“Yes you did,” he ran his arm, sliding it away from his face, looking at her. “Some advice?”
She pushes Kaminari away with her earphones jack. “Just wait,” she whispered, tilting her head and playing with her free jack. “I think you should give some space, for this kid to think. I mean, you did it before, didn't you? Left him alone? So now do it again and wait for him to corner you, what do you think?”
“You might be right...” he sat up. “I just... I don't want him to break his mom's heart, even if it is also mine...” he sighed. “But I guess you're right, Jirou. Thanks,” he smiled.

“Sensei?” Midoriya's voice rings behind him. “Could you walk me home?”
Shouta lets a tired was back from a patrol when the kid asked. He hesitates, forming ‘No, I’m tired,’ rolling it in his mouth.
“Of course,” he says instead.
Midoriya smiles “Good, now?”
And again, Shouta wants to say ‘later, let me sleep,’ but it dies again when he looks at Midoriya’s eyes, the soft smile, so tiny and kind of force, makes him say yes.
They walk, take a train, and sit together, leaving a seat between them, Shouta didn’t want to make the trip to be more awkward, so stay quiet.
They reached the apartment building, Shouta turning to go back to the dorms.
“Wait-” Midoriya grabs his wrist. He looks at the kid, lifting an eyebrow. “I- uh, I w-want to talk to you- you and mo-mom.”
Ah, he was being brave for this? Shouta nods, walking behind him.
Inko- oh, well, Ms. Midoriya greets her son, she seems relieved to have the kid in her arms.
Midoriya smiles, telling her he wants to talk.
“Oh, Shouta, you’re here”
“Aizawa,” he whispered. “I think I should be Aizawa, again,” it should feel right, this, but it sightly hurt him.
She looks hurt by that too, looking at her son, who was already in the living room.
They sit in the living room, Midoriya opens his mouth and words leave.

“I was being selfish,” is the first thing Izuku says, and he feels like a dumbass. “I… I think I’m a jealous person, so when mom stopped texting me and all of this started to happen I thought the worst- and then it was just you two sharing moments together- I think I didn’t like the idea, and I was thinking it was something uglier or worse. I’m just… I think you should have at least let me know it wasn’t anything bad happening and maybe I wouldn’t have felt so… mad?”
“Oh, Izuku, I’m sorry,” mom tries to come to him, but he stops her, shaking his head.
“I was mad at Aizawa-sensei, I thought he had betrayed me or something and it hurt me.” he sighs. “When he talked to me yesterday, his option, for a moment, was what I wanted”
“What?”
“I told him-”
“And it was stupid!” Izuku interrupted him. “I spent the whole day thinking about it and the reality crashed me and I facepalmed because… why was I so angry? You just found your mom and mom just found her kid in it was the best, for you, so why did I feel upset?” he shakes his head. “I should be happy, shouldn’t I?”
Mom looks at him, crying. “I don't blame you for being upset, Izuku,” she said. “I acted wrong, I wasn't thinking about how you would feel. I let this blind me and I was so… surprised by this that I… I forgot you, Izuku, that was bad, baby. I’m sorry”
“But-”
“You were hurt, right, Midoriya?”
“Well, yes! I was worried and the first conclusion that came to my mind was that mom was cheating dad or something!” he shakes his head, lowering his voice. “And… sensei was looking at me every day without even telling me anything- not a word, you acted so calm while I was just panicking…” he took a breath “I don’t want to be mad at you, mom. I… I know very well what hiding secrets feel like- I have mine after all- but still, I was just asking for a text, not a lie, but I sing you were okay- or something that could tell me you weren’t upset at me…”
“Did you think…?” Mom said.
He half laughs. “That was the first thing I thought- that you were mad or-” he sniffles “Then I was thinking you were sick.”
Because that is how his mind works.
He can’t stop himself to think about making people angry, it was something very deep in him, that will die with him.
Angry, upset, disappointed, one of those feelings was supposed to make someone -mom- stop talking with him. Izuku tried, to make himself believe that mom just forgot, something came out, anything, but the bad thought won.
The guilty of maybe having done something wrong with mom made him stay awake for some night, trying to decide between texting or calling mom.
Doing nothing was the final choice, because that mind if he told him ‘if you write to her, she’ll be angrier. He didn’t want that.
Once he could convince himself… because it was illogical for mom to be mad when he hasn’t done anything, and she was such a ray of sunshine- mom has never been mad with him! And he has done things for her to be mad and still! She was such a lovely and supportive mother!
So he steps to: she is sick, in danger, or worse.
With the League still free and what happened with All for One, Izuku was afraid the former would do a move with his mom, after all, he knows Izuku has One for All, what was stopping the old man to attack him?
He didn’t spiral much in that one just because 1: Katsuki talked with Mitsuki, and in a reckless move -really, how comes Kacchan didn’t burn him or throw him to the sun?- Izuku took the phone, asking his aunt about mom.
“Sweety, I haven’t talked with her,” he had said. “But I have seen your sensei near her apartment? I’ll ask her neighbors”
Number two: he went on a run with All Might to Dagobah beach, what did he find? Kiba, the stray cat -it has never stayed at home more than a few hours- who, after some petting, Izuku asked, playfully, “Have you seen someone strange at home, kitty?” and, as the smart cat it was, the cat fucking drew -lines- Izuku’s sensei! Like, what the hell?
And the last thing was how fucking different sensei’s behavior was with Izuku. The man seems to be looking at him more than usual, and by the point Izuku realized it, it was easier to put two and two and figure out- whatever was happening it was with both his teacher and mom.
Todoroki didn't help, either, and his friend came up with theories about what could have been happening.
Slowly, the rest of the class also noticed something different between Izuku and Aizawa-sensei, and, by the first time the green-haired kid confronted the underground hero, everyone was willing to protect Izuku.
Getting back to the point, maybe that was the main reason he was mad, because of what he thought and nobody helped about thinking.
“I guess it doesn't matter, or I want it to doesn't matter. I want to forget it and forgive you. Maybe I was dumb…” he sighed, looking at his hands.

Midoriya was being an idiot, and not because of what the kid said he believed.
“Mido-”
Inko throws herself to the floor, startling him and Izuku, this lastest yelping, going to his mother.
“Mo-mom!”
“I'm sorry, Izuku,” the woman whispered, forehead pressed on the floor.
“Wh-what? It should be me the one apologizing!” he tries to rise Inko.
“No, Izuku,” she said voice almost with authority. Midoriya stopped, lending backward. “I'm the adult here and I did wrong.” she started, forehand still down. “I know you- I'm supposed to know you better than everyone, I'm supposed to know how your mind works, even if it is obvious you hid a lot of stuff- but still, as your mother, I should've known how you would or could react, and I did nothing to stop it, to comfort you, so I'm sorry. I'm sorry for hurting you, Izuku,”
Midoriya's eyes went big and watery. It looked as if that was the most honest apology he have had.
Shouts sighed, he also has a lot to apologize too.
He mimicked Inko, gaining a shocked and high-pitched “Ai-Aizawa-sensei?!”
“I owe you an apologise too, kiddo,” he whispered, but loudly and slowly enough for Midoriya's confused brain to catch it. “I… I didn't talk to you, and I didn't do it even when I promised to do it. I didn't want to tell you, of course, but since the first day I went to the dorms and you showed me your problems I was thinking about telling you something, at least comfort you, but I was a coward,” he took a breath, “I was a coward and allowed to this to happen. I did it badly, kid.” he looks up. Midoriya was crying, silent tears rolling his cheeks. “I offer you my apology. I don't want you to take it, I don't deserve your forgiveness, not now. I did wrong, so I'll work to gain your trust, to restore what I damaged. I swear I'll do it,”
The kid fell to his knees in front of them.
“Bu-but! I thought I was wrong! When I was mad I thought I was wrong, shouldn't be the one apologizing?”
Shouta could understand, really, the way how Midoriya sees the world, always so self-sacrificial.
Shouta shakes his head. “No, you don't have to do it,” he whispered, while Inko sat up, wiping her tears. “I was honest now, and when we spoke at the dorms. I want to do the best for you so…” he looks at Inko. “I want- we want you to tell us what could be the best, what do you want,”
Midoriya cried.

“I'm home!” Hisashi shouts, baggage in his hands and between his arms. “Honey, it smells good, what are you doing?”
He drops, slowly, everything next to the door, walking across the living room.
“Darling!” Inko came out of the kitchen, a big and soft smile melting Hisashi's heart.
He cops his wife's cheeks in his hands, planting a kiss on her lips, and then her forehead. “I have missed you so much, Inko,” he whispered.
“You're back, that is what counts,” she holds his neck, pulling him down to kiss him one more time. “I made dinner; come in.” she lead him to the kitchen, fingers tangling with his.
“Ah! I missed your food, Inko. In America, there is no-” he looks at his son- his sons. Shouta and Izuku were there, sitting and smiling at him. A cat meowing on the table.
Hisashi gets emotional when he sees Izuku, so having his first son there, next to his sunshine, melts his heart.
“Hi, dad!” Izuku said, waving his hand.
“Nice to finally meet you, Hisashi,” Shouta smiled softly.
