Chapter Text
There are moments in his day to day life which make Jeongguk the happiest. It doesn’t have to be something major. Even the simplest of things bring a smile to his face these days, be it Nari trying to have a full length conversation with him, Taehyung telling him about something adorable his patient did or even just laying down with his head the on the olders lap, ranting to him about something a customer did to piss him off or if he got a bad review. And Taehyung would coddle him, praise him and give his forehead little kisses, telling him how he thinks he’s the best chef in the world and Jeongguk’s traitorous heart would fall in love a little more.
Maybe that’s what makes him happy these days, being in love with Taehyung.
Even right now, as Jeongguk feeds Nari little bites of carrot, her happily eating them all, his heart is soaring. “Look at you, eating carrots with a big smile on your face,” he coos as he feeds her another piece. “You’re such a bunny.”
Nari scrunches her nose adorably and laughs as if he had said the funniest thing in the world. “Nari bbbb-” she tries to say.
“That’s right, you’re a bunny. My Nari is a little bunny,” he repeats, hoping she catches on it.
“Says the biggest bunny in the room,” Taehyung comments from the kitchen as he’s cooking the only dish he can cook: Instant Ramen.
Jeongguk gasps. “I’m not a bunny! Take it back Taehyung!” he says, offended even more when the brunette laughs. He walks up to them, two bowls of ramen in his hand. He passes one to Jeongguk and kisses his nose.
“You’re the cutest bunny I have ever seen. My little baby bun,” he smiles as he takes a bite and Jeongguk tries not to collapse from the overheating on his face.
Ever since Jeongguk has realized he’s in love, he’s become more easy to fluster, if that was even possible. And that fucker Taehyung makes every use of it.
They eat in silence for a while until Taehyung speaks up. “You won’t believe who I met at the bank yesterday!” he says excitedly and the younger turns to look at him. “Park Bogum!”
Jeongguk almost chokes on the ramen he’s chewing. “What? Here?” Taehyung nods. “But the last I heard he moved away to America or something?”
“Canada,” he corrects. “He did but he’s back now, for good I think. And he told me he wants to take me out for dinner tonight!”
The universe must be really playing a joke on him right now, because how the hell does Park Bogum manage to weed his way into their life every time Jeongguk realizes he’s in love with Taehyung?
“So what did you say?” he asks, heart already dropping at the answer.
“Of course I said yes. We’re meeting tonight at seven. I specifically chose today since it’s your day off.”
It’s as if someone has taken Jeongguk’s heart right out of his chest and stomped on it wearing a pair of his own chunky stomper boots. “You do know this is a date, right?”
Taehyung shakes his head. “No, it’s not. It’s a catch up between friends.”
Jeongguk stares at him. “Taehyung, he literally said he wants to take you out and the last I checked, that always meant a date.”
“Yeah but in teenager vocabulary. He just wants to take me out so we can talk about our lives,” he says nonchalantly.
“You’re seriously not that dumb, are you?” he asks and Taehyung now looks at him with a frown on his face. “He’s taking you out, on a Saturday night, probably at some fancy restaurant like the one I work at. All checkpoints for a date night.”
“What’s your problem, Jeongguk? Why do you keep repeating it’s a date?” he asks, irritation clear in his voice.
Jeongguk keeps his bowl aside, and Taehyung mimics the action. This is not going to end well. “Because you’re being so blissfully oblivious right now, as if you somehow want it to be a date!”
“What’s gotten into you today? Why are you acting like this? So what if it’s a date?” the older asks, his voice higher in pitch.
“Because I don’t want you to go!” Jeongguk blurts out, shutting up Taehyung. He closes his eyes briefly. “Don’t go,” he says, his voice much softer now, almost pleading.
“Why?” Taehyung asks, just as soft. “Why don’t you want me to go?”
Jeongguk shakes his head. He can’t confess to Taehyung, not right now, not like this, when they’re in the middle of an argument. “I just don’t.”
Taehyung almost looks disappointed in his answer. “You can’t tell me what I can and can’t do, Jeongguk.”
“I’m not telling you to do anything. Just…don’t go, please.”
“You’re not even telling me why you don’t want me to go and you expect me to listen to you without a logical reason?” He gets up in anger. “You know what, Jeongguk? If you’re going to do what you want, then so will I. This dinner with Bogum wasn’t a date before, but it is now.” He storms out of the living room, leaving Jeongguk and an unfazed Nari alone.
“Looks like I fucked up again, Nari,” he says but instantly regrets it. Nari’s able to speak some words now, and Jeongguk doesn’t want fuck to be in that list. “But you understand where I’m coming from, right?” he asks, planting a kiss on the cheek. She gives him one right back and he smiles. “Always knew you were on my side baby.”
✧
Jeongguk is watching some Korean drama that’s playing on the TV when he sees Taehyung for the first time since their fight, and he swallows every comment that’s about to come out of his mouth when he sees him. Taehyung is wearing a black turtleneck over white pants, and a brown coat to complete the look. He’s styled his hair just the way Jeongguk likes it, neat but a little messy at the same time and he’s even wearing his favorite cologne on him. A bitter feeling settles in his stomach. All this for fucking Park Bogum.
“Have fun on your date!” Jeongguk wishes sarcastically and Taehyung’s eyes narrow in a challenge.
“Oh trust me honey, I will.”
And then he’s gone, the sound of door shutting echoing through the room. Jeongguk spends the whole night watching stupid dramas about true love and soulmates and wants to laugh and cry at the same time how fake it is.
He’s in the middle of a What’s wrong with secretary Kim? episode when he hears the door click open, checking to see the time. It’s only been two hours since Taehyung left. Did their date end already?
Taehyung walks into the living room just as he’s shutting the TV off. “Where’s Nari?” he asks, sitting opposite to Jeongguk on his favourite chair.
“Asleep in my room,” he answers, not looking at him. “How was the date?” he asks out of formality, hoping will spare him the details and tell him it’s none of business.
“It was great,” comes the monotone reply. “I had a lot of fun. Bogum hyung even kissed me at the end of it.”
Jeongguk can almost hear his heart shatter into tiny pieces. “Good for you,” he says and gets up to leave the room when Taehyung’s voice stops him.
“Jeongguk. Why didn’t you want me to go?” he asks and Jeongguk just wants to go to his room and sob in his pillow already.
“How does it matter now? You went on the date. And you had a lot of fun. So it doesn’t really matter now, does it?”
“It matters to me,” Taehyung says, his voice sharp as a knife as he stands up. “You really didn’t want me to go, right? I only went because you didn’t give me a reason not to.”
And Jeongguk is just so tired of this - of Taehyung’s stubbornness, of the exhausting roller-coaster that is to be in love with him, of the hurt that he manages to feel every time. “Because there is no reason, okay? Forget it. Can I go now?”
“No,” Taehyung insists as he takes a step forward. “You’re lying. There was a reason, and you know it. You’re just not telling me. So what’s the problem, Jeongguk? Why didn’t you want me to go on a date with Bogum?” he practically screams into Jeongguk’s face.
“Because I’m in love with you, Taehyung!” he screams back and fuck.
Taehyung’s mouth slackens, eyes wide as he stares at Jeongguk in silence. “Wh-What?” he stammers out, voice so vulnerable it breaks Jeongguk’s heart again.
He rubs a hand over his face, realizing there’s no going back now. “I didn’t want you to go because I’m so in love with you Taehyung. I always have been, even before our falling out. And I was so mad that every time I came to that realization, Park Bogum would come into our lives and he made me so insecure and afraid. Afraid that he would take you away from me,” he says, wiping his tears and when the hell did he start crying?
“Why didn’t you tell me back then?” Taehyung’s voice breaks at the last word.
Jeongguk shrugs. “It just wasn’t possible to love a man at that time, Taehyung. You know that.”
Taehyung doesn’t reply to that, opting to wipe his cheeks instead. “Ask me again, how my date was.” he asks and Jeongguk gapes at him through tear filled eyes. Surely Taehyung is not being so cruel right now?
“Just do it,” he urges and Jeongguk bites his lip and obliges.
“It was horrible,” he says, completely throwing off the younger. “I hated it. I hated every second of it, because the whole time, I couldn’t stop thinking about you. I kept checking my phone every two minutes because I thought maybe you had texted me. All through the date I wanted it to be you. You picking me up, you driving me to the restaurant, you sitting in front of me, you making me laugh and when he kissed me, I never kissed him back because I wanted that to be you as well.”
Jeongguk is completely shell shocked, mouth open, not a single word coming out. Taehyung looks at him to say something, but he can’t, not when can’t even process that Taehyung is finally saying things to him that he always craved to hear from him.
“Because I love you, Jeongguk. I’m so madly and deeply in love with you that I don’t know what to do with myself. You and Nari have snuck your way into my heart and I don’t know why I didn’t realize it sooner. I’ve always been in love with you and frankly, I don’t understand how you’ve never realiz-”
His rambling is cut off by Jeongguk who chooses that moment to walk towards and smash their lips together. Taehyung lets out a noise of surprise for a second, before he’s kissing back with just as much passion and Jeongguk feels like he’s ascended to heaven. Taehyung’s arms loop around Jeongguk’s neck as he wraps his around his waist, head tilting.
They kiss like there’s no tomorrow, wet lips molding perfectly against each other as if they were only meant to kiss the other. Kissing Taehyung made Jeongguk feel like arriving in your home country after spending some time abroad, back to being surrounded by all the things you’re familiar with. Kissing Taehyung felt like coming back to your apartment after a long, exhausting day at work. Kissing Taehyung felt like home, like that’s where he’s supposed to be for the rest of life.
Taehyung is one who breaks the kiss first, resting his head against the other’s forehead. “I love you,” he says and Jeongguk’s heart feels like it’s about to burst. “I love you so much.”
“Say it again,” Jeongguk says, grip on his waist getting tighter.
Taehyung giggles softly. “I love you, Gukkie. I always have.”
Jeongguk breaks into a grin too. “I love you too, Taehyung,” he says, and god does it feel great so say it out loud. “There was no one else for me but you, ever.”
Taehyung looks at him and it seems like he’s going to cry again, before he shakes his head and kisses him again. This kiss is much more different now, much more heated and Jeongguk almost chokes on his own spit when he feels Taehyung tongue prying his mouth open.
“Eager, are we?” he teases and Taehyung rolls his eyes as he makes Jeongguk sit on the sofa.
“Shut up,” he says, placing himself on his lap. “I have centuries to make up for.”
And then they’re back to kissing, Jeongguk’s hand sliding from Taehyung’s hips to round ass as Taehyung shoves his tongue into his mouth. They make out like that for a while until Jeongguk gives his ass an experimental squeeze and Taehyung fucking moans in his mouth, the sound going straight to Jeongguk’s hardening dick. Taehyung grinds down on Jeongguk as he gives it another squeeze, the friction he can feel even through their clothes so overwhelming he thinks he’s going to come right then and there.
“Bedroom,” Taehyung instructs against his lips, yelping when Jeongguk suddenly picks him up, his arms tightening around his neck as he glares. “You’re a fucking meanace. Do I weigh nothing to you?” he asks and Jeongguk grins as he shakes his head.
Jeongguk walks to Taehyung’s room and lays him down on the bed, hovering over him as he meets his lips again. “Off, I need this off,” Taehyung gasps and tugs on Jeongguk’s t-shirt as the younger trails kisses slowly down his neck, leaving little marks here and there. Jeongguk does as he’s told, removing his t-shirt and he can see Taehyung trying (and failing miserably) not to drool over his toned body.
“Are you ninety percent muscle?” Taehyung groans, as he runs his hand over his stomach raising goosebumps on his skin.
“Close. Eighty seven,” Jeongguk jokes as he takes off Taehyung sweater completely, exposing miles of honey-like skin for him to kiss and mark.
He gently traces his finger lightly over his chest. “You’re so beautiful, Taehyung,” he says quietly, completely in awe.
The brunette doesn’t reply as his cheeks get redder, instead choosing to kiss him. Jeongguk can’t express in words how unbelievable it is that he finally gets to see Taehyung like this, so he tries to show it with his touch and kisses. He gets to work immediately, kissing down Taehyung’s protruding collarbones to his smooth chest, biting as much skin as he can. Taehyung lets out little noises of pleasure, his hand knotted in Jeongguk’s hair. Taehyung pulls him up to bring their lips together again, Jeongguk running his hands on his skin. “How did Bogum kiss you?” Jeongguk asks and the older stares at him in confusion.
“I really don’t want to talk about Bogum while we’re making out,” he pouts, making Jeongguk laugh as he gives it a little kiss, something that he has been wanting to do forever.
“Just tell me,” he urges and Taehyung rolls his eyes.
“He touched my face and cheeks while kissing and ran his hand over my neck. I would’ve been hot if I wasn’t so focused on thinking about you at the time,” he smiles.
Jeongguk nods, proceeding to kiss Taehyung again, pressing a small kiss over his lips, then one on each of his cheeks. He kisses his jaw gently and sucks another hickey onto his neck. He pulls back smiling. “There. I’ve rid your body of his touches completely.” He dives back in, hovering over Taehyung’s lips. “You’re all mine now, okay? Only mine,” he says, kissing him fully, the other beneath him matching his passion.
“Yours,” Taehyung mumbles against his lips, looking at him with dark eyes full of lust. “Only yours. Don’t want anyone else but you.”
Satisfied with his answer, Jeongguk continues kissing down his chest, stopping at Taehyung’s lower stomach as he asks for permission to remove his pants and Taehyung quickly nods.
Jeongguk quickly unbuttons his jeans and throws them away immediately, mouthing along Taehyung’s erection through his boxers. “Fuck, Jeongguk, don’t tease,” Taehyung says gravelly and the younger can feel his dick twitch at how wrecked he sounds already. He decides to listen to him for once and pulls off his boxers in one swift motion, his rock hard cock springing towards his stomach. Jeongguk gulps. Taehyung is very well endowed and he hasn’t given a blowjob for a very long time so he’s nervous he’s not going to be any good. But then he remembers this is Taehyung, his Taehyung who loves him so much, and he doesn’t think anymore before engulfing his cock in his mouth.
“Shit,” Taehyung moans, gripping his hair tighter, sending thrills down Jeongguk’s spine. Jeongguk takes him in as much as he can, loving the heavy weight on his tongue as he flattens it on the underside. He can taste the heady taste of precome, but he doesn’t mind. Not when Taehyung is up there making the most delectable sounds, whimpering as he takes him in slowly. He bobs his head slowly at first, speed gradually increasing as he adjusts better to the length, drooling around it. He wraps his hand around the base and flicks his wrist. He rolls his tongue as he takes him in deeper and he’s about to reach the back of his throat when he’s being ripped off by his hair.
He stares at Taehyung in confusion, spit coating the corners of his mouth. “What? What’s wrong? Do you not want to do this anymore? We can stop if you want.” Jeongguk says and Taehyung says nothing, just pulls him in for another kiss immediately putting his tongue in Jeongguk’s mouth even though Jeongguk definitely tastes like him.
“I’ve wanted you for so long, Jeongguk. I don’t want to come just from a simple blowjob. Want to come with you inside me,” he whispers and Jeongguk’s dick cries at that.
“Fuck, Taehyung,” he moans against his mouth. “You can’t just say things like that.”
“Why?” the older teases. “You’ll come in your pants?”
“Probably. You really don’t understand the effect you have on me, do you?”
“Shut up,” Taehyung slaps his chest, getting shy.
“Lube and condoms?” Jeongguk asks, grinning.
“In the side drawer to the right. Now hurry,” he urges and the younger rolls his eyes.
“So bossy.”
“Shh. You know you love me.”
“I do. Very much,” Jeongguk confirms as he uncaps the bottle of, of course, strawberry flavoured lube.
“I’m never going to get tired of hearing you say that,” Taehyung grins.
“Good, because I’m never going to stop,” he affirms, warming up the lube.
“That’s exactly what I like to hear,” the older replies, kissing him again, only stopping to gasp at Jeongguk trying to press his first finger in.
“You tell me if I hurt you, okay?” Jeongguk asks softly and he slowly inserts his index finger in, kissing Taehyung as he adjusts.
“It’s just, it’s been a while,” he says, biting his lip and Jeongguk nods.
“Take your time, baby. I’m not going anywhere,” he soothes and Taehyung closes his eyes.
“Say that again. That you’re not going anywhere,” he requests and Jeongguk’s heart gets a little heavy. Did him leaving affect Taehyung this much?
Jeongguk leans into him and kisses his lips once, twice, thrice. “I’m not going anywhere, baby. I’m never leaving you ever again. You’re stuck with me.”
The brunette smiles into the kiss. “I would love nothing more. Now move,” he instructs, and Jeongguk doesn’t wait another second before he’s moving his finger in and out, adding more when Taehyung requests him to. He curls his three fingers and feels that little bump and presses against it, making Taehyung arch off the bed.
“Fuck Gukkie. Do that again.” And who is Jeongguk to deny Taehyung anything? He does it again and again until the older is squirming under him, cries of pleasure leaving his mouth.
“I’m ready, Jeongguk. Fuck me now, please,” he begs and the younger is already putting on a condom over his aching dick before Taehyung has even finished the sentence.
Jeongguk kisses him as he slowly presses the head of his cock against the opening, Taehyung nodding to tell him it’s okay. He bites his lip. He’s been waiting to show Taehyung how much he loves him for centuries and he still couldn’t believe he was lucky enough to have a beauty like Taehyung under him, gripping onto his arm, ready for him. Not being able to wait any longer, Jeongguk pushes his length in slowly, nearly coming from the tightness around him. They both let out low moans simultaneously as Jeongguk bottoms out, burying his face in the older’s neck.
“Fuck Jeongguk,” Taehyung sounds breathless next to him, even though they’re incapable of doing so and the fact makes Jeongguk swell with pride.
“You okay baby?” he murmurs next to him, pressing gentle kisses on the slope of his neck.
“Never been better,” he replies, throwing his arms around his back, tracing every muscle.
Every part in Jeongguk is screaming at him to move, but he doesn’t, not until Taehyung is kissing his shoulder, giving him permission. Jeongguk drags his cock out till only the tip is inside him before ramming in again with such force Taehyung cries out.
He repeats the process until he’s built up a steady rhythm, spreading Taehyung’s legs so he can change the angle, trying to find that spot. He can feel Taehyung’s tears on his shoulder, him crying and moaning with every hard thrust Jeongguk gives him. Jeongguk shifts his cock to the right a little and pushes in again, Taehyung crying out as his back arches off the bed again, nails scraping along his back and Jeongguk knows he’s found that spot again.
“Right there, right fucking there baby,” he says, the last words melting into another moan as Jeongguk keeps thrusting there, the tip of his cock brushing the prostate with every hard snap of his hips.
Jeongguk can feel the familiar heat pool at the pit of his stomach and he knows he’s close. He thinks Taehyung is close too when the older brings his hand to his cock, Jeongguk slapping it away and replacing it with his own. It’s too much for Taehyung because he doesn’t do anything after, just pliantly accepts what’s being given to him by the other, tightening his arms around the Jeongguk’s neck for support as the younger bites his neck, leaving no skin unmarked.
Two thrusts and one hard flick of the wrist makes Taehyung come, ribbons of white falling on Jeongguk’s hand as he too feels himself coming, spilling into the condom as Taehyung clenches around him. They lay still like that for a while, getting down from their high.
He lies next to him after discarding the condom, Taehyung’s beautiful blissed out face staring at him with a smile. “You’re so beautiful,” he says and Jeongguk almost laughs because has he seen a mirror lately?
“Have you seen yourself? You’re the most beautiful creature I have ever seen,” Jeongguk laughs fondly.
“You’re such a smooth talker,” he rolls his eyes, but then turns serious. “I love you so much.”
Jeongguk’s eyes close in happiness before he smiles at the other. “I love you too, baby. Thank you for coming back into my life.”
“I should be saying that to you and Nari,” Taehyung says, before leaning in to kiss him.
They lazily make out for a while until sleep overtakes the both of them, with Taehyung’s arm curled around Jeongguk’s waist resting on his stomach, his fingers intertwined with other and Jeongguk thinks this is the best sleep he’s got in his two hundred years of life.
The next morning when Jeongguk opens his eyes and sees Taehyung smiling down at him like an angel, he thinks he’s definitely still dreaming. Even more so when said angel leans down and places a kiss on his lips. “Good morning, my love,” he says against his lips.
“How long have you been staring at me while I was asleep like a creep?” Jeongguk grins, running his hand through the older's brown hair.
“It’s romantic,” he argues, that pout making an appearance again.
“Says who? Twilight?” the younger grins, and Taehyung rolls his eyes.
“Never mind, you’re the least romantic person I’ve ever known. I was going to suggest we take advantage of the fact that vampires don’t get morning breath and make out until Nari is up, but it seems like you’re not interested,” Taehyung says, already retreating but Jeongguk tugs him back, pulling him under him and switching their positions.
“Showoff,” Taehyung mutters, grinning.
“You love it, though,” Jeongguk shrugs and leans down.
Taehyung nods and tilts his mouth upwards as he presses their lips together. And that’s how they go for round two at eight in the morning when it was only supposed to be an innocent make out session.
Now, Taehyung sits on the counter wearing only Jeongguk’s t-shirt, swinging his legs back and forth as Jeongguk makes kimchi pancakes, Taehyung’s favourite.
“Look at you, making breakfast for me like the best boyfriend ever,” Taehyung teases.
Jeongguk’s smiles at the word ‘boyfriend’. “Is that what I am now, your boyfriend?”
“Only if you want to be.”
Jeongguk walks over to him and places himself in between Taehyung legs as they wrap around his waist. “What I want,” he says as he holds his face gently, “Is to love and cherish you forever, just like you deserved to be. Will you let me do that, Tae?”
Taehyung’s smile has the power to light up the world. “Only if you let me do the same for you in return.” He leans forward, placing a kiss on Jeongguk awaiting lips and they stay like that, the kimchi pancakes burning and forgotten.
✧
“Fuck, Taehyung,” Jeongguk moans as he raises his hips and slams them down again on Taehyung’s dick, hitting his prostate again, making him dizzy with pleasure. “You’re so big.”
“Yeah?” Taehyung asks after he sucks another mark in the sea of pink and purples littered across Jeongguk’s chest. He thrusts again, meeting Jeongguk halfway, making him close his eyes around the sensation of the younger’s walls dragging around his dick. “You like my cock so much?”
Jeongguk nods wildly, his previous carefully styled hair now a mess as he bounces up and down, never tiring. “I love it,” he says, rotating his hips. “Don’t want anyone else when you fill me up so good, hyung,” the honorific slips out and Taehyung stutters for a moment.
“Jeongguk, you can’t just call me hyung after 200 years in the middle of bouncing on my cock like that,” he says, almost like a moan and the younger looks at him in confusion, stilling his hips.
“What, you like that? You have a thing for me calling you hyung?” Jeongguk grins and Taehyung rolls his eyes.
“Are you going to make fun of me now?”
“Yeah, until you shut me up like I deserve, hyung,” he says huskily. Taehyung’s eyes darken and he thrusts into him at a new angle and stamina, hitting the perfect spot again and again until Jeongguk is a moaning, sobbing mess in Taehyung’s arms. He pulls him in to kiss him holding his loose tie until Jeongguk is coming untouched on Taehyung’s pristine white shirt, Taehyung following after him with just a few hard snaps.
Jeongguk winces as he gets off Taehyung’s soft dick. “Who knew I only needed to address you respectfully for you to fuck me just like I wanted,” Jeongguk shakes his head, his eyebrow piercing glinting under the light.
“Stop whining,” he rolls his eyes, completely smitten. “I always fuck you just like you want, and you too fuck me exactly how I want,” he grins, kissing him. “The perfect couple, aren’t we? Even better than Yoongi and Hobi hyung.”
Jeongguk and Taehyung’s smiles fade instantly at the mention of their names. “Taehyung, the wedding! We’re so late, oh my god!’ Jeongguk scurries to put on his pants.
“Why are you blaming this on me? This is all because you couldn’t keep it in your pants for a few hours! And now I have come on my shirt,” Taehyung groans as he tucks in his shirt, hoping no one notices the little white stain peeking just above the belt.
“In my defence, you look really hot in a suit. I couldn’t help myself.”
They run out of one of the spare rooms in the big house they had rented for the Min-Jung wedding, a special wedding gift from Jeongguk. The house had been decorated beautifully, just like the to be had wanted, everything in white and pink. But the couple don’t pause to appreciate them. They run to the garden where the ceremony is supposed to be held. They reach the entrance of a decorated and well lit path that was serving as an altar. They spot Yoongi, Jimin and Hoseok who’s holding Nari, looking absolutely gorgeous in her pink and white flower girl dress. “Thank god!” Jimin exclaims as he sees them running in, side by side. “Where the fuck you were you guys? One second you were here with us and then Jeongguk complimented how hot Taehyung looked in a suit and then…” he trails off, looking at their disheveled hair and clothes that had been worn in ten seconds.
“If you tell me you both ran away to have sex five minutes before my wedding ceremony, I will personally make sure that the chef ‘accidentally’ puts garlic in your food,” Yoongi warns.
“We didn’t run away to have sex five minutes before your wedding ceremony?” Taehyung offers, and Hoseok shakes his head.
“I really can’t believe you guys snuck out to fuck like a couple of seventeen year olds,” he comments, but he’s smiling. It’s all he’s been doing ever since Yoongi proposed to him.
“The good news is, we’re here now! So, shall we start the ceremony?” Jeongguk smiles, ignoring Yoongi’s death glare.
“Remind me again why you guys getting together was a good idea?” Jimin questions, rolling his eyes.
Jeongguk hugs him from behind. “Because I’m madly in love with Taehyung, and he’s madly in love with me. And because the pining was getting too angsty. Now don’t be bitter because you’re the only single one here,” he teases and his hyung elbows him in return.
“Brat,” he scolds. “I won’t be single after today, you’ll see. Namjoon is here and I sent the measurements for my pants to be two inches shorter so they’re tight around my ass, and he won’t be able to resist it, I bet.”
Jeongguk grimaces and moves away from him. “Before you divulge into unnecessary details, we have a wedding ceremony to perform, so let’s get to that shall we?” he looks at the grooms, who give each other little smiles before nodding.
Hoseok hands over Nari to Taehyung, who’s going to help her walk down the aisle. Jeongguk and Yoongi rush to the other side of the altar, the latter taking his place in front of the priest and the former standing behind him, next to Yoongi’s cousin and some friends from his office. The garden of the big house was filled with family, friends and loved ones who were there to celebrate them. He spots Namjoon and Seokjin sitting together, who give him a little wave when their eyes meet.
The wedding march starts pouring through the speakers in the garden and everybody stands up for the other groom and his groomsmen. Taehyung walks in first with Nari in his arms, smiling brightly at her as he helps her toss the flower petals from her basket. Jeongguk has a vision then, twenty five years in the future where he sees a beautiful, grown up Nari walking down the aisle in her beautiful white wedding dress, with Taehyung and Jeongguk on either side, still looking the same as they did today. He feels his eyes tear up as he thinks about how one day his Nari will be all grown and independent, facing the world all by herself.
And then Taehyung looks up and it’s like Jeongguk falls in love with him all over again, his face lit up by the sun rays and his beautiful smile as he looks at him. And then Jeongguk suddenly has another vision, one with a Nari only a couple of years older than she is now, walking down the aisle with the same basket of flowers and her second Appa behind her, looking dashing as always in a fitted suit as he walks with a bouquet in hand towards Jeongguk who’s now standing in Yoongi’s place, his boxy smile lingering on his face.
Jeongguk is snapped out of his thoughts by Taehyung who’s suddenly in front of him, wiping his tears with his free hand as he stands next to him giving him a small smile.
Yoongi starts crying as soon as he sees Hoseok following Jimin, and they say their beautiful vows which makes everyone in the audience tear up one by one. They seal their marriage with a kiss and then the ceremony is over as quickly as it had started.
“What are you thinking about, baby?” Taehyung asks him later during the reception when he’s sitting at the table, Nari babbling about something on his lap.
Jeongguk smiles at Hoseok who’s dancing with a very shy Yoongi on the dance floor, their first dance as husbands. “Nothing in particular. Just you and Nari. My favourite people in the world,” he says.
Taehyung’s cheeks are dusted pink as he slaps Jeongguk’s shoulder lightly and the younger is glad that he still has that effect on the older even after two hundred years. “You’re our favourite person too, isn’t he Nari?” he asks the girl, who looks up.
“Yes Appa,” she replies with some difficulty and Jeongguk can see the tears gloss in Taehyung’s eyes. Nari had started calling Taehyung appa, just as Jeongguk had predicted. The older had apologized profusely to him when she had said it the first time, saying that he didn’t know where she had learned it from. Jeongguk had simply kissed him, saying that he would never feel bad if Nari called Taehyung her appa, because in a way, he was.
“God, I love it when she calls me that,” he says and Jeongguk smiles at him, so in love.
“It suits you. Nari’s appa.”
He looks at Jimin and Namjoon next, Jimin giggling about something Namjoon said but suddenly turning red when Namjoon tucks a lock of blonde hair behind his ear.
“I’m pretty sure all of our friends are against us staying together after today,” Taehyung grins.
“Who cares? They should’ve objected when they found out last month. Now, they need to forever hold their peace.” He grins back.
It had been so simple for Jeongguk to tell his friends about him and Taehyung. They had gone over to Yoongi’s place for his and Hoseok’s engagement party, just the seven of them. Taehyung had been so adorable talking animatedly to the younger about something when he had just interrupted him with a kiss, realizing that after centuries of just staring at him and wishing things were different, he could actually do it now without a thought, because Taehyung loved him and they were boyfriends now. Taehyung had kissed him back, of course, and when they had separated, all their friends were gawking at them, complete silence engulfing the room for a few moments. Then Yoongi had simply turned to Jimin and said, “I win. You owe me fifty bucks” and that was that. Their friends had congratulated them and asked them a thousand questions, Jeongguk staring at Taehyung lovingly while he answered them all. Namjoon had congratulated him personally on getting his happy ending to which he had laughed and brushed it off, saying they don’t exist.
But that night, with Taehyung laying under him, face twisted with ecstasy as the moonlight highlighted every one of his perfect features and moles, his nails creating angry red lines down Jeongguk’s back and their daughter sleeping in the next room, Jeongguk had realized that maybe he really did get his happy ending. He had gotten it because he adopted Nari, had gotten it because Taehyung had entered his life again and had gotten it because he had gathered the courage to kiss Taehyung for the first time.
“And you’re not getting away from me so easily, mister,” he tells Taehyung, poking his side.
“Good, since I don’t plan to. I’m in it for the long run with you, baby,” Taehyung teases, kissing Jeongguk’s cheek.
And Jeongguk too, is in it for the long run, if the diamond ring in a blue velvet box hidden in his stack of clothes that he had purchased the day after their first date was anything to go by.
“I’m so glad I asked you to be Nari’s doctor,” he says, leaning against his broad shoulder.
“And I’m so glad I offered to let you to stay at my place,” the other replied, leaning his head on top of his.
“Come to think of it, the main reason for us to get together is Nari,” Jeongguk says, making her stand up. “If it weren’t for her, we wouldn’t be together right now.”
Taehyung gasps. “You’re right!” He looks at Nari. “Nari-ah, thank you for bringing your Appa back in my life.” He kisses her cheek. “You really are the reason for my happiness.”
She holds Taehyung’s face with a smile, giving him a small kiss on his nose. “I think she’s thanking you for loving her Appa so much even after all this time,” Jeongguk says.
Taehyung shakes his head with a rectangular smile on his face. “How can I not, when her Appa is the kindest and most deserving person on the planet?”
Jeongguk leans in to kiss him, careful of the girl on his lap, Taehyung meeting him halfway. He smiles into the kiss, feeling like his heart is full of warmth and love for the older. He knows the path ahead of them is not an easy one, with them both being immortal creatures raising a child together. They’ll have to move every few years, before their neighbours start realizing how they don’t change at all as the years pass. They’ll have to have a talk with Nari about it when she’s old enough, something he’s not looking forward to, even more than the adoption talk. Taehyung and he will have to explain to her their complicated history and their future. The hardest part will be the time when they’ll ask her to make a decision if she wants to become a vampire or wants to stay a human, having to accept her decision if she chooses the latter.
Whenever he stresses about these things Taehyung is always there, to remind him to take things one at a time, that they’ll solve these problems together whenever life throws them at their family. Together. The word is a sweet reminder to Jeongguk that he’s not alone in the world anymore and that he has his best friend turned boyfriend, his Taehyung, with him every step of the way. Taehyung takes the younger’s head in his lap whenever he feels too overwhelmed about what’s about to come, gently combing his fingers through his dark hair. “It’s okay to worry, baby,” he says, the tender nickname itself making Jeongguk relax a little. “But not until it gets too much for you. Remember that if things get tough, I’ll be right next to you through it all, just as you will be there for me. You don’t have to worry all on your own. Let me be the one who worries between the two of us sometimes.”
He knows it won’t be easy being with Taehyung too, the huge passage of time passing between their fight and make up having made them into very different people. They’ll argue and fight over the littlest of things and need to talk over the big ones, but he knows in the end they’ll come back together. Because he loves Taehyung too much to ever leave him again, him already having become his and Nari’s lifeline. He had finally got the life with his love just as how he wanted it, and he was determined to do everything right to deserve it.
“Hey lovebirds!” Jimin calls them, a bright smile on his face. “Come dance with us!”
Jeongguk and Taehyung grin at each other, walking hand in hand to the dance floor, Nari in Jeongguk’s arms. He lifts her up and places her on his shoulders, as she sways cutely along to the music, her happy giggles sounding like music to his ears. Jeongguk looks around him. All his friends are grinning at Nari as they dance around her and Taehyung is looking at them with the biggest lovesick smile on his face and suddenly he believes that everything will be okay. He’ll take it slowly and deal with every difficulty with the help of his loving boyfriend, his daughter and his closest friends at his side. He’ll do them without a hurry because there’s no rush, no ticking time clock to do things and they can love each other for years now just like they yearned to, can love each other forever.
